Mobile-Aptus: Confidence-Driven Proactive and Robust Interaction in MLLM-based Mobile-Using AgentsZheng Wu, Pengzhou Cheng, Zongru Wu et al.
Recent advancements in multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have shown exceptional potential in enabling mobile-using agents to autonomously execute human instructions. However, fully automated agents often try to execute tasks even when they are unable to resolve them, leading to the problem of over-execution. Previous studies solve it by training a interactive mobile-using agents to let agents request human interaction when agents can not complete user instructions. However, we find that these interactive agents tend to exhibit over-soliciting behavior, relying excessively on human intervention. To mitigate both over-execution and over-soliciting, we propose a universal confidence integration framework that enables confidence-driven proactive and robust interaction in MLLM-based mobile-using agents. The framework consists of two stages: interaction capability empowerment and confidence bias correction. In the interaction capability empowerment stage, agents learn through supervised fine-tuning to output both actions and confidence scores. In the confidence bias correction stage, agents learn to output more accurate confidence scores by combining semantic similarity retrieval with direct preference optimization. Experimental results show Mobile-Aptus achieves state-of-the-art performance on the four popular mobile-using agent benchmarks: OS-Kairos, AITZ, Meta-GUI, and AndroidControl. Mobile-Aptus consistently outperforms all baselines in offline benchmarks, with an average improvement over 17\% in task success rate. In real-world dynamic experiments, Mobile-Aptus surpasses the baseline by 26% in task success rate with only 0.64 intervention steps per instruction. Cross-Modal Clinical Knowledge Integration for Mammography Report GenerationJiayi Zhu, Fuxiang Huang, Yu Xie et al.
Breast cancer is a major global health concern, and mammography screening plays a central role in early detection. The large volume of screening examinations creates a substantial workload for radiologists, making accurate and consistent report generation a critical clinical challenge. Existing automated mammography report generation methods primarily focus on direct visual-to-text mapping, while overlooking the structured clinical reasoning process followed by radiologists in real-world practice. To address this limitation, we propose MammoRG, a mammography report generation framework that explicitly simulates the clinical reporting workflow by following the BI-RADS guideline and incorporating prior clinical knowledge to produce diagnostic reports. Specifically, MammoRG adopts a two-stage training framework. In the first stage, the model learns to integrate clinically relevant prior knowledge from a patient's four-view mammograms through classification-based supervision. In the second stage, a terminology-aware supervised fine-tuning strategy is introduced to model mammography-specific clinical terms as atomic semantic units, enabling the generation of high-quality reports with improved clinical consistency. To facilitate clinical efficacy evaluation of generated reports, we further develop MammoRGTool, a dedicated mammography report parsing tool that extracts structured clinical information from free-text reports. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MammoRG consistently outperforms existing methods across multiple clinical efficacy metrics, particularly in diagnosis-related BI-RADS F1, where it surpasses the second-best model by 2.73%, 2.04%, 1.90%, and 3.27% on the internal, external 1, external 2, and VinDr-Mammo datasets, respectively.

UI-Venus Technical Report: Building High-performance UI Agents with RFTZhangxuan Gu, Zhengwen Zeng, Zhenyu Xu et al.
We present UI-Venus, a native UI agent that takes only screenshots as input based on a multimodal large language model. UI-Venus achieves SOTA performance on both UI grounding and navigation tasks using only several hundred thousand high-quality training samples through reinforcement finetune (RFT) based on Qwen2.5-VL. Specifically, the 7B and 72B variants of UI-Venus obtain 94.1% / 50.8% and 95.3% / 61.9% on the standard grounding benchmarks, i.e., Screenspot-V2 / Pro, surpassing the previous SOTA baselines including open-source GTA1 and closed-source UI-TARS-1.5. To show UI-Venus's summary and planing ability, we also evaluate it on the AndroidWorld, an online UI navigation arena, on which our 7B and 72B variants achieve 49.1% and 65.9% success rate, also beating existing models. To achieve this, we introduce carefully designed reward functions for both UI grounding and navigation tasks and corresponding efficient data cleaning strategies. To further boost navigation performance, we propose Self-Evolving Trajectory History Alignment & Sparse Action Enhancement that refine historical reasoning traces and balances the distribution of sparse but critical actions, leading to more coherent planning and better generalization in complex UI tasks. Our contributions include the publish of SOTA open-source UI agents, comprehensive data cleaning protocols and a novel self-evolving framework for improving navigation performance, which encourage further research and development in the community. VenusBench-GD: A Comprehensive Multi-Platform GUI Benchmark for Diverse Grounding TasksBeitong Zhou, Zhexiao Huang, Yuan Guo et al.
GUI grounding is a critical component in building capable GUI agents. However, existing grounding benchmarks suffer from significant limitations: they either provide insufficient data volume and narrow domain coverage, or focus excessively on a single platform and require highly specialized domain knowledge. In this work, we present VenusBench-GD, a comprehensive, bilingual benchmark for GUI grounding that spans multiple platforms, enabling hierarchical evaluation for real-word applications. VenusBench-GD contributes as follows: (i) we introduce a large-scale, cross-platform benchmark with extensive coverage of applications, diverse UI elements, and rich annotated data, (ii) we establish a high-quality data construction pipeline for grounding tasks, achieving higher annotation accuracy than existing benchmarks, and (iii) we extend the scope of element grounding by proposing a hierarchical task taxonomy that divides grounding into basic and advanced categories, encompassing six distinct subtasks designed to evaluate models from complementary perspectives. Our experimental findings reveal critical insights: general-purpose multimodal models now match or even surpass specialized GUI models on basic grounding tasks. In contrast, advanced tasks, still favor GUI-specialized models, though they exhibit significant overfitting and poor robustness. These results underscore the necessity of comprehensive, multi-tiered evaluation frameworks.

GUI agents have emerged as a powerful paradigm for automating interactions in digital environments, yet achieving both broad generality and consistently strong task performance remains challenging.In this report, we present UI-Venus-1.5, a unified, end-to-end GUI Agent designed for robust real-world applications.The proposed model family comprises two dense variants (2B and 8B) and one mixture-of-experts variant (30B-A3B) to meet various downstream application scenarios.Compared to our previous version, UI-Venus-1.5 introduces three key technical advances: (1) a comprehensive Mid-Training stage leveraging 10 billion tokens across 30+ datasets to establish foundational GUI semantics; (2) Online Reinforcement Learning with full-trajectory rollouts, aligning training objectives with long-horizon, dynamic navigation in large-scale environments; and (3) a single unified GUI Agent constructed via Model Merging, which synthesizes domain-specific models (grounding, web, and mobile) into one cohesive checkpoint. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that UI-Venus-1.5 establishes new state-of-the-art performance on benchmarks such as ScreenSpot-Pro (69.6%), VenusBench-GD (75.0%), and AndroidWorld (77.6%), significantly outperforming previous strong baselines. In addition, UI-Venus-1.5 demonstrates robust navigation capabilities across a variety of Chinese mobile apps, effectively executing user instructions in real-world scenarios. Transfer Learning for Tonal Noise Prediction in VRF Units Using Thermodynamic and Vibration SignalsZhiWei Su, Ding Wang, Yuan Guo et al.
The second-order harmonic (2f) component generated by twin-rotary compressor is a dominant low-frequency noise source of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) outdoor units, yet its amplitude fluctuates strongly with environmental thermal load and valve opening, making it difficult to assess accurately using conventional mechanism-based models. This paper proposes an unsupervised transfer learning method based on Domain-invariant Partial Least Squares (Di-PLS) to accurately predict 2f noise levels under new conditions using different signals. Prediction models utilizing thermodynamic signals and acceleration signals are constructed respectively, and the generalization performance of the proposed Di-PLS is systematically compared with traditional Partial Least Squares (PLS). Results demonstrate that Di-PLS significantly outperforms PLS by extracting cross-condition common features and minimizing the distribution discrepancy between the source and target domains. Specifically, the acceleration-based Di-PLS model achieves the best performance, maintaining prediction errors within 3 dB for all test cases. This superiority over thermodynamic-based models highlights a physical insight: while thermodynamic states drive dynamic changes, structural vibration possesses a stronger and more direct causal link to acoustic radiation.

BeHonest: Benchmarking Honesty in Large Language ModelsSteffi Chern, Zhulin Hu, Yuqing Yang et al.
Previous works on Large Language Models (LLMs) have mainly focused on evaluating their helpfulness or harmlessness. However, honesty, another crucial alignment criterion, has received relatively less attention. Dishonest behaviors in LLMs, such as spreading misinformation and defrauding users, present severe risks that intensify as these models approach superintelligent levels. Enhancing honesty in LLMs addresses critical limitations and helps uncover latent capabilities that are not readily expressed. This underscores the urgent need for reliable methods and benchmarks to effectively ensure and evaluate the honesty of LLMs. In this paper, we introduce BeHonest, a pioneering benchmark specifically designed to assess honesty in LLMs comprehensively. BeHonest evaluates three essential aspects of honesty: awareness of knowledge boundaries, avoidance of deceit, and consistency in responses. Building on this foundation, we designed 10 scenarios to evaluate and analyze 9 popular LLMs on the market, including both closed-source and open-source models from different model families with varied model sizes. Our findings indicate that there is still significant room for improvement in the honesty of LLMs. We encourage the AI community to prioritize honesty alignment in these models, which can harness their full potential to benefit society while preventing them from causing harm through deception or inconsistency. A Robust Deep Learning Method with Uncertainty Estimation for the Pathological Classification of Renal Cell Carcinoma based on CT ImagesNi Yao, Hang Hu, Kaicong Chen et al.
Objectives To develop and validate a deep learning-based diagnostic model incorporating uncertainty estimation so as to facilitate radiologists in the preoperative differentiation of the pathological subtypes of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) based on CT images. Methods Data from 668 consecutive patients, pathologically proven RCC, were retrospectively collected from Center 1. By using five-fold cross-validation, a deep learning model incorporating uncertainty estimation was developed to classify RCC subtypes into clear cell RCC (ccRCC), papillary RCC (pRCC), and chromophobe RCC (chRCC). An external validation set of 78 patients from Center 2 further evaluated the model's performance. Results In the five-fold cross-validation, the model's area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) for the classification of ccRCC, pRCC, and chRCC was 0.868 (95% CI: 0.826-0.923), 0.846 (95% CI: 0.812-0.886), and 0.839 (95% CI: 0.802-0.88), respectively. In the external validation set, the AUCs were 0.856 (95% CI: 0.838-0.882), 0.787 (95% CI: 0.757-0.818), and 0.793 (95% CI: 0.758-0.831) for ccRCC, pRCC, and chRCC, respectively. Conclusions The developed deep learning model demonstrated robust performance in predicting the pathological subtypes of RCC, while the incorporated uncertainty emphasized the importance of understanding model confidence, which is crucial for assisting clinical decision-making for patients with renal tumors. Clinical relevance statement Our deep learning approach, integrated with uncertainty estimation, offers clinicians a dual advantage: accurate RCC subtype predictions complemented by diagnostic confidence references, promoting informed decision-making for patients with RCC.

Can Large Language Models Logically Predict Myocardial Infarction? Evaluation based on UK Biobank CohortYuxing Zhi, Yuan Guo, Kai Yuan et al.
Background: Large language models (LLMs) have seen extraordinary advances with applications in clinical decision support. However, high-quality evidence is urgently needed on the potential and limitation of LLMs in providing accurate clinical decisions based on real-world medical data. Objective: To evaluate quantitatively whether universal state-of-the-art LLMs (ChatGPT and GPT-4) can predict the incidence risk of myocardial infarction (MI) with logical inference, and to further make comparison between various models to assess the performance of LLMs comprehensively. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, 482,310 participants recruited from 2006 to 2010 were initially included in UK Biobank database and later on resampled into a final cohort of 690 participants. For each participant, tabular data of the risk factors of MI were transformed into standardized textual descriptions for ChatGPT recognition. Responses were generated by asking ChatGPT to select a score ranging from 0 to 10 representing the risk. Chain of Thought (CoT) questioning was used to evaluate whether LLMs make prediction logically. The predictive performance of ChatGPT was compared with published medical indices, traditional machine learning models and other large language models. Conclusions: Current LLMs are not ready to be applied in clinical medicine fields. Future medical LLMs are suggested to be expert in medical domain knowledge to understand both natural languages and quantified medical data, and further make logical inferences.

Anisotropic Diffusion Probabilistic Model for Imbalanced Image ClassificationJingyu Kong, Yuan Guo, Yu Wang et al.
Real-world data often has a long-tailed distribution, where the scarcity of tail samples significantly limits the model's generalization ability. Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DDPM) are generative models based on stochastic differential equation theory and have demonstrated impressive performance in image classification tasks. However, existing diffusion probabilistic models do not perform satisfactorily in classifying tail classes. In this work, we propose the Anisotropic Diffusion Probabilistic Model (ADPM) for imbalanced image classification problems. We utilize the data distribution to control the diffusion speed of different class samples during the forward process, effectively improving the classification accuracy of the denoiser in the reverse process. Specifically, we provide a theoretical strategy for selecting noise levels for different categories in the diffusion process based on error analysis theory to address the imbalanced classification problem. Furthermore, we integrate global and local image prior in the forward process to enhance the model's discriminative ability in the spatial dimension, while incorporate semantic-level contextual information in the reverse process to boost the model's discriminative power and robustness. Through comparisons with state-of-the-art methods on four medical benchmark datasets, we validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in handling long-tail data. Our results confirm that the anisotropic diffusion model significantly improves the classification accuracy of rare classes while maintaining the accuracy of head classes. On the skin lesion datasets, PAD-UFES and HAM10000, the F1-scores of our method improved by 4% and 3%, respectively compared to the original diffusion probabilistic model.

Atomic-to-Compositional Generalization for Mobile Agents with A New Benchmark and Scheduling SystemYuan Guo, Tingjia Miao, Zheng Wu et al.
Autonomous agents powered by multimodal large language models have been developed to facilitate task execution on mobile devices. However, prior work has predominantly focused on atomic tasks -- such as shot-chain execution tasks and single-screen grounding tasks -- while overlooking the generalization to compositional tasks, which are indispensable for real-world applications. This work introduces UI-NEXUS, a comprehensive benchmark designed to evaluate mobile agents on three categories of compositional operations: Simple Concatenation, Context Transition, and Deep Dive. UI-NEXUS supports interactive evaluation in 20 fully controllable local utility app environments, as well as 30 online Chinese and English service apps. It comprises 100 interactive task templates with an average optimal step count of 14.05. Experimental results across a range of mobile agents with agentic workflow or agent-as-a-model show that UI-NEXUS presents significant challenges. Specifically, existing agents generally struggle to balance performance and efficiency, exhibiting representative failure modes such as under-execution, over-execution, and attention drift, causing visible atomic-to-compositional generalization gap. Inspired by these findings, we propose AGENT-NEXUS, a lightweight and efficient scheduling system to tackle compositional mobile tasks. AGENT-NEXUS extrapolates the abilities of existing mobile agents by dynamically decomposing long-horizon tasks to a series of self-contained atomic subtasks. AGENT-NEXUS achieves 24% to 40% task success rate improvement for existing mobile agents on compositional operation tasks within the UI-NEXUS benchmark without significantly sacrificing inference overhead. EVA: Red-Teaming GUI Agents via Evolving Indirect Prompt InjectionYijie Lu, Tianjie Ju, Manman Zhao et al.
As multimodal agents are increasingly trained to operate graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to complete user tasks, they face a growing threat from indirect prompt injection, attacks in which misleading instructions are embedded into the agent's visual environment, such as popups or chat messages, and misinterpreted as part of the intended task. A typical example is environmental injection, in which GUI elements are manipulated to influence agent behavior without directly modifying the user prompt. To address these emerging attacks, we propose EVA, a red teaming framework for indirect prompt injection which transforms the attack into a closed loop optimization by continuously monitoring an agent's attention distribution over the GUI and updating adversarial cues, keywords, phrasing, and layout, in response. Compared with prior one shot methods that generate fixed prompts without regard for how the model allocates visual attention, EVA dynamically adapts to emerging attention hotspots, yielding substantially higher attack success rates and far greater transferability across diverse GUI scenarios. We evaluate EVA on six widely used generalist and specialist GUI agents in realistic settings such as popup manipulation, chat based phishing, payments, and email composition. Experimental results show that EVA substantially improves success rates over static baselines. Under goal agnostic constraints, where the attacker does not know the agent's task intent, EVA still discovers effective patterns. Notably, we find that injection styles transfer well across models, revealing shared behavioral biases in GUI agents. These results suggest that evolving indirect prompt injection is a powerful tool not only for red teaming agents, but also for uncovering common vulnerabilities in their multimodal decision making.

Long-term simulation of physical and mechanical behaviors using curriculum-transfer-learning based physics-informed neural networksYuan Guo, Zhuojia Fu, Jian Min et al.
This paper proposes a Curriculum-Transfer-Learning based physics-informed neural network (CTL-PINN) for long-term simulation of physical and mechanical behaviors. The main innovation of CTL-PINN lies in decomposing long-term problems into a sequence of short-term subproblems. Initially, the standard PINN is employed to solve the first sub-problem. As the simulation progresses, subsequent time-domain problems are addressed using a curriculum learning approach that integrates information from previous steps. Furthermore, transfer learning techniques are incorporated, allowing the model to effectively utilize prior training data and solve sequential time domain transfer problems. CTL-PINN combines the strengths of curriculum learning and transfer learning, overcoming the limitations of standard PINNs, such as local optimization issues, and addressing the inaccuracies over extended time domains encountered in CL-PINN and the low computational efficiency of TL-PINN. The efficacy and robustness of CTL-PINN are demonstrated through applications to nonlinear wave propagation, Kirchhoff plate dynamic response, and the hydrodynamic model of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, showcasing its superior capability in addressing long-term computational challenges.

Environment-Aware Near-Field Channel Estimation Leveraging CKM and ISACYuan Guo, Yilong Chen, Zixiang Ren et al.
This paper proposes an environment-aware near-field channel estimation framework for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems equipped with extremely large-scale antenna arrays (ELAAs). The proposed framework jointly exploits channel knowledge maps (CKMs) and ISAC to obtain a priori information on static and dynamic environmental features for facilitating channel estimation. In particular, we propose a novel CKM representation, termed the virtual object map (VOM), which stores the locations of virtual environment objects (EOs) to characterize the dominant multipath components (MPCs) induced by static physical EOs. In addition, we design a sensing-assisted channel training protocol, in which the ISAC-enabled base station (BS) transmits downlink pilots while simultaneously collecting monostatic echoes for sensing dynamic targets in the environment, and the user equipment (UE) feeds back a quantized version of its received pilot observation. Based on the VOM prior and the sensed dynamic information, the BS jointly estimates the coefficients of the static and dynamic MPCs to recover the near-field channel. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed joint VOM- and sensing-aided channel estimation scheme significantly outperforms conventional schemes without VOM-based priors and/or dynamic sensing in terms of both channel estimation accuracy and achievable rate.

A Versatile Foundation Model for AI-enabled Mammogram InterpretationFuxiang Huang, Jiayi Zhu, Yunfang Yu et al.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in women globally. Mammography is essential for the early detection and diagnosis of breast lesions. Despite recent progress in foundation models (FMs) for mammogram analysis, their clinical translation remains constrained by several fundamental limitations, including insufficient diversity in training data, limited model generalizability, and a lack of comprehensive evaluation across clinically relevant tasks. Here, we introduce VersaMammo, a versatile foundation model for mammograms, designed to overcome these limitations. We curated the largest multi-institutional mammogram dataset to date, comprising 706,239 images from 21 sources. To improve generalization, we propose a two-stage pre-training strategy to develop VersaMammo, a mammogram foundation model. First, a teacher model is trained via self-supervised learning to extract transferable features from unlabeled mammograms. Then, supervised learning combined with knowledge distillation transfers both features and clinical knowledge into VersaMammo. To ensure a comprehensive evaluation, we established a benchmark comprising 92 specific tasks, including 68 internal tasks and 24 external validation tasks, spanning 5 major clinical task categories: lesion detection, segmentation, classification, image retrieval, and visual question answering. VersaMammo achieves state-of-the-art performance, ranking first in 50 out of 68 specific internal tasks and 20 out of 24 external validation tasks, with average ranks of 1.5 and 1.2, respectively. These results demonstrate its superior generalization and clinical utility, offering a substantial advancement toward reliable and scalable breast cancer screening and diagnosis.

Artistic Glyph Image Synthesis via One-Stage Few-Shot LearningYue Gao, Yuan Guo, Zhouhui Lian et al.
Automatic generation of artistic glyph images is a challenging task that attracts many research interests. Previous methods either are specifically designed for shape synthesis or focus on texture transfer. In this paper, we propose a novel model, AGIS-Net, to transfer both shape and texture styles in one-stage with only a few stylized samples. To achieve this goal, we first disentangle the representations for content and style by using two encoders, ensuring the multi-content and multi-style generation. Then we utilize two collaboratively working decoders to generate the glyph shape image and its texture image simultaneously. In addition, we introduce a local texture refinement loss to further improve the quality of the synthesized textures. In this manner, our one-stage model is much more efficient and effective than other multi-stage stacked methods. We also propose a large-scale dataset with Chinese glyph images in various shape and texture styles, rendered from 35 professional-designed artistic fonts with 7,326 characters and 2,460 synthetic artistic fonts with 639 characters, to validate the effectiveness and extendability of our method. Extensive experiments on both English and Chinese artistic glyph image datasets demonstrate the superiority of our model in generating high-quality stylized glyph images against other state-of-the-art methods.

Accelerated Experimental Design for Pairwise ComparisonsYuan Guo, Jennifer Dy, Deniz Erdogmus et al.
Pairwise comparison labels are more informative and less variable than class labels, but generating them poses a challenge: their number grows quadratically in the dataset size. We study a natural experimental design objective, namely, D-optimality, that can be used to identify which $K$ pairwise comparisons to generate. This objective is known to perform well in practice, and is submodular, making the selection approximable via the greedy algorithm. A naïve greedy implementation has $O(N^2d^2K)$ complexity, where $N$ is the dataset size, $d$ is the feature space dimension, and $K$ is the number of generated comparisons. We show that, by exploiting the inherent geometry of the dataset--namely, that it consists of pairwise comparisons--the greedy algorithm's complexity can be reduced to $O(N^2(K+d)+N(dK+d^2) +d^2K).$ We apply the same acceleration also to the so-called lazy greedy algorithm. When combined, the above improvements lead to an execution time of less than 1 hour for a dataset with $10^8$ comparisons; the naïve greedy algorithm on the same dataset would require more than 10 days to terminate.
