DISC-LawLLM: Fine-tuning Large Language Models for Intelligent Legal ServicesShengbin Yue, Wei Chen, Siyuan Wang et al.
We propose DISC-LawLLM, an intelligent legal system utilizing large language models (LLMs) to provide a wide range of legal services. We adopt legal syllogism prompting strategies to construct supervised fine-tuning datasets in the Chinese Judicial domain and fine-tune LLMs with legal reasoning capability. We augment LLMs with a retrieval module to enhance models' ability to access and utilize external legal knowledge. A comprehensive legal benchmark, DISC-Law-Eval, is presented to evaluate intelligent legal systems from both objective and subjective dimensions. Quantitative and qualitative results on DISC-Law-Eval demonstrate the effectiveness of our system in serving various users across diverse legal scenarios. DISC-FinLLM: A Chinese Financial Large Language Model based on Multiple Experts Fine-tuningWei Chen, Qiushi Wang, Zefei Long et al.
We propose Multiple Experts Fine-tuning Framework to build a financial large language model (LLM), DISC-FinLLM. Our methodology improves general LLMs by endowing them with multi-turn question answering abilities, domain text processing capabilities, mathematical computation skills, and retrieval-enhanced generation capabilities. We build a financial instruction-tuning dataset named DISC-FIN-SFT, including instruction samples of four categories (consulting, NLP tasks, computing and retrieval-augmented generation). Evaluations conducted on multiple benchmarks demonstrate that our model performs better than baseline models in various financial scenarios. LiAuto-GeoX: Efficient Grounded Driving TransformerJiawei Lian, Haoyi Sun, Yang Wu et al.
Dense 3D reconstruction has demonstrated immense potential for spatial understanding, yet its viability as a real-time, onboard representation for autonomous driving remains an open challenge. Existing large-scale visual geometry models typically require substantial computational resources and lack the long-range geometric fidelity, surround-view consistency, and real-time efficiency demanded by dynamic driving environments. To bridge this gap, we present \textbf{LiAuto-GeoX}, an efficient grounded driving transformer designed for deployable, ego-centric 3D scene understanding. Our approach begins by learning a high-capacity driving geometry model from large-scale surround-view data, utilizing sparse LiDAR priors to provide robust geometric grounding in distant, ambiguous, or structure-sparse regions. We then instantiate this capability into a highly compact 155M-parameter onboard model through a novel geometry-preserving distillation framework. This framework employs mask-guided depth-aware distillation to retain fine-grained metric structures by emphasizing geometrically informative regions, and relative-pose relational distillation to enforce cross-view spatial consistency through pose-induced geometric relations. Extensive evaluations reveal that \textbf{LiAuto-GeoX} runs at 220 FPS on KITTI while maintaining high-fidelity dense reconstruction, enabling real-time deployment. The learned geometry transfers seamlessly to downstream autonomy tasks, achieving 90.6 PDMS in trajectory prediction, 24.63 mIoU in occupancy prediction, and 47.67 IoU in future-frame prediction. These all demonstrate that efficient dense 3D reconstruction can transcend its traditional role as a perception target to serve as a scalable, foundational geometric representation for next-generation autonomous driving.

Synergistic Multi-Agent Framework with Trajectory Learning for Knowledge-Intensive TasksShengbin Yue, Siyuan Wang, Wei Chen et al.
Recent advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) have led to significant breakthroughs in various natural language processing tasks. However, generating factually consistent responses in knowledge-intensive scenarios remains a challenge due to issues such as hallucination, difficulty in acquiring long-tailed knowledge, and limited memory expansion. This paper introduces SMART, a novel multi-agent framework that leverages external knowledge to enhance the interpretability and factual consistency of LLM-generated responses. SMART comprises four specialized agents, each performing a specific sub-trajectory action to navigate complex knowledge-intensive tasks. We propose a multi-agent co-training paradigm, Long-Short Trajectory Learning, which ensures synergistic collaboration among agents while maintaining fine-grained execution by each agent. Extensive experiments on five knowledge-intensive tasks demonstrate SMART's superior performance compared to widely adopted knowledge internalization and knowledge enhancement methods. Symbolic Working Memory Enhances Language Models for Complex Rule ApplicationSiyuan Wang, Zhongyu Wei, Yejin Choi et al.
Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown remarkable reasoning performance but struggle with multi-step deductive reasoning involving a series of rule application steps, especially when rules are presented non-sequentially. Our preliminary analysis shows that while LLMs excel in single-step rule application, their performance drops significantly in multi-step scenarios due to the challenge in rule grounding. It requires anchoring the applicable rule and supporting facts at each step, amidst multiple input rules, facts, and inferred facts. To address this, we propose augmenting LLMs with external working memory and introduce a neurosymbolic framework for rule application. The memory stores facts and rules in both natural language and symbolic forms, enabling precise tracking. Utilizing this memory, our framework iteratively performs symbolic rule grounding and LLM-based rule implementation. The former matches predicates and variables of symbolic rules and facts to ground applicable rules at each step. Experiments indicate our framework's effectiveness in rule application and its robustness across various steps and settings~\footnote{Code and data are available at \url{https://github.com/SiyuanWangw/RuleApplication}.}.

In Search of the Long-Tail: Systematic Generation of Long-Tail Inferential Knowledge via Logical Rule Guided SearchHuihan Li, Yuting Ning, Zeyi Liao et al. · uw
To effectively use large language models (LLMs) for real-world queries, it is imperative that they generalize to the long-tail distribution, i.e. rare examples where models exhibit low confidence. In this work, we take the first step towards evaluating LLMs in the long-tail distribution of inferential knowledge. We exemplify long-tail evaluation on the Natural Language Inference task. First, we introduce Logic-Induced-Knowledge-Search (LINK), a systematic long-tail data generation framework, to obtain factually-correct yet long-tail inferential statements. LINK uses variable-wise prompting grounded on symbolic rules to seek low-confidence statements while ensuring factual correctness. We then use LINK to curate Logic-Induced-Long-Tail (LINT), a large-scale long-tail inferential knowledge dataset that contains 108K statements spanning four domains. We evaluate popular LLMs on LINT; we find that state-of-the-art LLMs show significant performance drop (21% relative drop for GPT4) on long-tail data as compared to on head distribution data, and smaller models show even more generalization weakness. These results further underscore the necessity of long-tail evaluation in developing generalizable LLMs.

Sketch Input Method Editor: A Comprehensive Dataset and Methodology for Systematic Input RecognitionGuangming Zhu, Siyuan Wang, Qing Cheng et al.
With the recent surge in the use of touchscreen devices, free-hand sketching has emerged as a promising modality for human-computer interaction. While previous research has focused on tasks such as recognition, retrieval, and generation of familiar everyday objects, this study aims to create a Sketch Input Method Editor (SketchIME) specifically designed for a professional C4I system. Within this system, sketches are utilized as low-fidelity prototypes for recommending standardized symbols in the creation of comprehensive situation maps. This paper also presents a systematic dataset comprising 374 specialized sketch types, and proposes a simultaneous recognition and segmentation architecture with multilevel supervision between recognition and segmentation to improve performance and enhance interpretability. By incorporating few-shot domain adaptation and class-incremental learning, the network's ability to adapt to new users and extend to new task-specific classes is significantly enhanced. Results from experiments conducted on both the proposed dataset and the SPG dataset illustrate the superior performance of the proposed architecture. Locate Then Ask: Interpretable Stepwise Reasoning for Multi-hop Question AnsweringSiyuan Wang, Zhongyu Wei, Zhihao Fan et al.
Multi-hop reasoning requires aggregating multiple documents to answer a complex question. Existing methods usually decompose the multi-hop question into simpler single-hop questions to solve the problem for illustrating the explainable reasoning process. However, they ignore grounding on the supporting facts of each reasoning step, which tends to generate inaccurate decompositions. In this paper, we propose an interpretable stepwise reasoning framework to incorporate both single-hop supporting sentence identification and single-hop question generation at each intermediate step, and utilize the inference of the current hop for the next until reasoning out the final result. We employ a unified reader model for both intermediate hop reasoning and final hop inference and adopt joint optimization for more accurate and robust multi-hop reasoning. We conduct experiments on two benchmark datasets HotpotQA and 2WikiMultiHopQA. The results show that our method can effectively boost performance and also yields a better interpretable reasoning process without decomposition supervision.

A Unified Continuous Learning Framework for Multi-modal Knowledge Discovery and Pre-trainingZhihao Fan, Zhongyu Wei, Jingjing Chen et al.
Multi-modal pre-training and knowledge discovery are two important research topics in multi-modal machine learning. Nevertheless, none of existing works make attempts to link knowledge discovery with knowledge guided multi-modal pre-training. In this paper, we propose to unify them into a continuous learning framework for mutual improvement. Taking the open-domain uni-modal datasets of images and texts as input, we maintain a knowledge graph as the foundation to support these two tasks. For knowledge discovery, a pre-trained model is used to identify cross-modal links on the graph. For model pre-training, the knowledge graph is used as the external knowledge to guide the model updating. These two steps are iteratively performed in our framework for continuous learning. The experimental results on MS-COCO and Flickr30K with respect to both knowledge discovery and the pre-trained model validate the effectiveness of our framework.

Deep Reinforcement Learning Based Vehicle Selection for Asynchronous Federated Learning Enabled Vehicular Edge ComputingQiong Wu, Siyuan Wang, Pingyi Fan et al.
In the traditional vehicular network, computing tasks generated by the vehicles are usually uploaded to the cloud for processing. However, since task offloading toward the cloud will cause a large delay, vehicular edge computing (VEC) is introduced to avoid such a problem and improve the whole system performance, where a roadside unit (RSU) with certain computing capability is used to process the data of vehicles as an edge entity. Owing to the privacy and security issues, vehicles are reluctant to upload local data directly to the RSU, and thus federated learning (FL) becomes a promising technology for some machine learning tasks in VEC, where vehicles only need to upload the local model hyperparameters instead of transferring their local data to the nearby RSU. Furthermore, as vehicles have different local training time due to various sizes of local data and their different computing capabilities, asynchronous federated learning (AFL) is employed to facilitate the RSU to update the global model immediately after receiving a local model to reduce the aggregation delay. However, in AFL of VEC, different vehicles may have different impact on the global model updating because of their various local training delay, transmission delay and local data sizes. Also, if there are bad nodes among the vehicles, it will affect the global aggregation quality at the RSU. To solve the above problem, we shall propose a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) based vehicle selection scheme to improve the accuracy of the global model in AFL of vehicular network. In the scheme, we present the model including the state, action and reward in the DRL based to the specific problem. Simulation results demonstrate our scheme can effectively remove the bad nodes and improve the aggregation accuracy of the global model.

Unlocking the Value of Text: Event-Driven Reasoning and Multi-Level Alignment for Time Series ForecastingSiyuan Wang, Peng Chen, Yihang Wang et al.
Existing time series forecasting methods primarily rely on the numerical data itself. However, real-world time series exhibit complex patterns associated with multimodal information, making them difficult to predict with numerical data alone. While several multimodal time series forecasting methods have emerged, they either utilize text with limited supplementary information or focus merely on representation extraction, extracting minimal textual information for forecasting. To unlock the Value of Text, we propose VoT, a method with Event-driven Reasoning and Multi-level Alignment. Event-driven Reasoning combines the rich information in exogenous text with the powerful reasoning capabilities of LLMs for time series forecasting. To guide the LLMs in effective reasoning, we propose the Historical In-context Learning that retrieves and applies historical examples as in-context guidance. To maximize the utilization of text, we propose Multi-level Alignment. At the representation level, we utilize the Endogenous Text Alignment to integrate the endogenous text information with the time series. At the prediction level, we design the Adaptive Frequency Fusion to fuse the frequency components of event-driven prediction and numerical prediction to achieve complementary advantages. Experiments on real-world datasets across 10 domains demonstrate significant improvements over existing methods, validating the effectiveness of our approach in the utilization of text. Asynchronous Federated Learning for Edge-assisted Vehicular NetworksSiyuan Wang, Qiong Wu, Qiang Fan et al.
Vehicular networks enable vehicles support real-time vehicular applications through training data. Due to the limited computing capability, vehicles usually transmit data to a road side unit (RSU) at the network edge to process data. However, vehicles are usually reluctant to share data with each other due to the privacy issue. For the traditional federated learning (FL), vehicles train the data locally to obtain a local model and then upload the local model to the RSU to update the global model, thus the data privacy can be protected through sharing model parameters instead of data. The traditional FL updates the global model synchronously, i.e., the RSU needs to wait for all vehicles to upload their models for the global model updating. However, vehicles may usually drive out of the coverage of the RSU before they obtain their local models through training, which reduces the accuracy of the global model. It is necessary to propose an asynchronous federated learning (AFL) to solve this problem, where the RSU updates the global model once it receives a local model from a vehicle. However, the amount of data, computing capability and vehicle mobility may affect the accuracy of the global model. In this paper, we jointly consider the amount of data, computing capability and vehicle mobility to design an AFL scheme to improve the accuracy of the global model. Task-Agnostic Structured Pruning of Speech Representation ModelsHaoyu Wang, Siyuan Wang, Wei-Qiang Zhang et al.
Self-supervised pre-trained models such as Wav2vec2, Hubert, and WavLM have been shown to significantly improve many speech tasks. However, their large memory and strong computational requirements hinder their industrial applicability. Structured pruning is a hardware-friendly model compression technique but usually results in a larger loss of accuracy. In this paper, we propose a fine-grained attention head pruning method to compensate for the performance degradation. In addition, we also introduce the straight through estimator into the L0 regularization to further accelerate the pruned model. Experiments on the SUPERB benchmark show that our model can achieve comparable performance to the dense model in multiple tasks and outperforms the Wav2vec 2.0 base model on average, with 72% fewer parameters and 2 times faster inference speed.

Utilizing large language models (LLMs) to achieve role-playing has gained great attention recently. The primary implementation methods include leveraging refined prompts and fine-tuning on role-specific datasets. However, these methods suffer from insufficient precision and limited flexibility respectively. To achieve a balance between flexibility and precision, we construct a Hierarchical Identity Role-Playing Framework (HIRPF) based on identity theory, constructing complex characters using multiple identity combinations. We develop an identity dialogue dataset for this framework and propose an evaluation benchmark including scale evaluation and open situation evaluation. Empirical results indicate the remarkable efficacy of our framework in modeling identity-level role simulation, and reveal its potential for application in social simulation.

Unifying Structure Reasoning and Language Model Pre-training for Complex ReasoningSiyuan Wang, Zhongyu Wei, Jiarong Xu et al.
Recent pre-trained language models (PLMs) equipped with foundation reasoning skills have shown remarkable performance on downstream complex tasks. However, the significant structure reasoning skill has been rarely studied, which involves modeling implicit structure information within the text and performing explicit logical reasoning over them to deduce the conclusion. This paper proposes a unified learning framework that combines explicit structure reasoning and language pre-training to endow PLMs with the structure reasoning skill. It first identifies several elementary structures within contexts to construct structured queries and performs step-by-step reasoning along the queries to identify the answer entity. The fusion of textual semantics and structure reasoning is achieved by using contextual representations learned by PLMs to initialize the representation space of structures, and performing stepwise reasoning on this semantic representation space. Experimental results on four datasets demonstrate that the proposed model achieves significant improvements in complex reasoning tasks involving diverse structures, and shows transferability to downstream tasks with limited training data and effectiveness for complex reasoning of KGs modality.

HyLaT: Efficient Multi-Agent Communication via Hybrid Latent-Text ProtocolXinyi Mou, Siyuan Wang, Zejun Li et al.
Communication protocol design is a central challenge in large language model-based multi-agent systems. Existing single-channel approaches face an inherent communication trilemma: text-based methods are interpretable but verbose, while latent-space methods are efficient but opaque and limited to unidirectional workflows. Inspired by multi-channel communication theory, we propose HyLaT, a hybrid latent-text communication protocol that transmits elaborate cognitive signals through a latent channel for efficiency, while expressing concise critical signals in natural language to preserve interpretability and precision. We introduce a two-stage training framework combining single-agent hybrid generation learning and multi-agent interactive co-training, enabling agents to generate and interpret hybrid messages across multiple rounds of interaction. Experiments demonstrate that HyLaT reduces communication overhead significantly while maintaining competitive task performance, with strong generalization and robustness across diverse settings.

Empowering Time Series Analysis with Large-Scale Multimodal PretrainingPeng Chen, Siyuan Wang, Shiyan Hu et al.
While existing time series foundation models primarily rely on large-scale unimodal pretraining, they lack complementary modalities to enhance time series understanding. Building multimodal foundation models is a natural next step, but it faces key challenges: 1) lack of a unified multimodal pretraining paradigm and large-scale multimodal corpora for time series analysis; 2) how to effectively integrate heterogeneous modalities and enhance model generalization. To address these challenges, we take an early step toward multimodal foundation models for time series analysis. We first propose a multimodal pretraining paradigm that leverages time series with endogenous modalities (derived images and text) and exogenous knowledge (real-world news), providing a comprehensive multi-view perspective for time series analysis. To support this, we develop an automated data construction pipeline to curate MM-TS, the first large-scale multimodal time series dataset spanning six domains, with up to one billion points. Then we propose HORAI, a frequency-enhanced multimodal foundation model. It integrates two core components: the Frequency-enhanced Cross-Modality Encoder and the Time-Frequency Decoder, designed to effectively fuse multimodal features and enhance model generalization across modalities and domains. After pretraining on MM-TS, HORAI achieves state-of-the-art zero-shot performance on time series forecasting and anomaly detection tasks, demonstrating strong generalization.

HAF-RM: A Hybrid Alignment Framework for Reward Model TrainingShujun Liu, Xiaoyu Shen, Yuhang Lai et al.
The reward model has become increasingly important in alignment, assessment, and data construction for large language models (LLMs). Most existing researchers focus on enhancing reward models through data improvements, following the conventional training framework for reward models that directly optimizes the predicted rewards. In this paper, we propose a hybrid alignment framework HaF-RM for reward model training by introducing an additional constraint on token-level policy probabilities in addition to the reward score. It can simultaneously supervise the internal preference model at the token level and optimize the mapping layer of the reward model at the sequence level. Experiment results on five datasets sufficiently show the validity and effectiveness of our proposed hybrid framework for training a high-quality reward model. By decoupling the reward modeling procedure and incorporating hybrid supervision, our HaF-RM framework offers a principled and effective approach to enhancing the performance and alignment of reward models, a critical component in the responsible development of powerful language models. Diverse Dance Synthesis via Keyframes with Transformer ControllersJunjun Pan, Siyuan Wang, Junxuan Bai et al.
Existing keyframe-based motion synthesis mainly focuses on the generation of cyclic actions or short-term motion, such as walking, running, and transitions between close postures. However, these methods will significantly degrade the naturalness and diversity of the synthesized motion when dealing with complex and impromptu movements, e.g., dance performance and martial arts. In addition, current research lacks fine-grained control over the generated motion, which is essential for intelligent human-computer interaction and animation creation. In this paper, we propose a novel keyframe-based motion generation network based on multiple constraints, which can achieve diverse dance synthesis via learned knowledge. Specifically, the algorithm is mainly formulated based on the recurrent neural network (RNN) and the Transformer architecture. The backbone of our network is a hierarchical RNN module composed of two long short-term memory (LSTM) units, in which the first LSTM is utilized to embed the posture information of the historical frames into a latent space, and the second one is employed to predict the human posture for the next frame. Moreover, our framework contains two Transformer-based controllers, which are used to model the constraints of the root trajectory and the velocity factor respectively, so as to better utilize the temporal context of the frames and achieve fine-grained motion control. We verify the proposed approach on a dance dataset containing a wide range of contemporary dance. The results of three quantitative analyses validate the superiority of our algorithm. The video and qualitative experimental results demonstrate that the complex motion sequences generated by our algorithm can achieve diverse and smooth motion transitions between keyframes, even for long-term synthesis.

DeepGen 1.0: A Lightweight Unified Multimodal Model for Advancing Image Generation and EditingDianyi Wang, Ruihang Li, Feng Han et al.
Current unified multimodal models for image generation and editing typically rely on massive parameter scales (e.g., >10B), entailing prohibitive training costs and deployment footprints. In this work, we present DeepGen 1.0, a lightweight 5B unified model that achieves comprehensive capabilities competitive with or surpassing much larger counterparts. To overcome the limitations of compact models in semantic understanding and fine-grained control, we introduce Stacked Channel Bridging (SCB), a deep alignment framework that extracts hierarchical features from multiple VLM layers and fuses them with learnable 'think tokens' to provide the generative backbone with structured, reasoning-rich guidance. We further design a data-centric training strategy spanning three progressive stages: (1) Alignment Pre-training on large-scale image-text pairs and editing triplets to synchronize VLM and DiT representations, (2) Joint Supervised Fine-tuning on a high-quality mixture of generation, editing, and reasoning tasks to foster omni-capabilities, and (3) Reinforcement Learning with MR-GRPO, which leverages a mixture of reward functions and supervision signals, resulting in substantial gains in generation quality and alignment with human preferences, while maintaining stable training progress and avoiding visual artifacts. Despite being trained on only ~50M samples, DeepGen 1.0 achieves leading performance across diverse benchmarks, surpassing the 80B HunyuanImage by 28% on WISE and the 27B Qwen-Image-Edit by 37% on UniREditBench. By open-sourcing our training code, weights, and datasets, we provide an efficient, high-performance alternative to democratize unified multimodal research.

UniReason 1.0: A Unified Reasoning Framework for World Knowledge Aligned Image Generation and EditingDianyi Wang, Chaofan Ma, Feng Han et al.
Unified multimodal models often struggle with complex synthesis tasks that demand deep reasoning, and typically treat text-to-image generation and image editing as isolated capabilities rather than interconnected reasoning steps. To address this, we propose UniReason, a unified framework that harmonizes these two tasks through a dual reasoning paradigm. We formulate generation as world knowledge-enhanced planning to inject implicit constraints, and leverage editing capabilities for fine-grained visual refinement to further correct visual errors via self-reflection. This approach unifies generation and editing within a shared representation, mirroring the human cognitive process of planning followed by refinement. We support this framework by systematically constructing a large-scale reasoning-centric dataset (~300k samples) covering five major knowledge domains (e.g., cultural commonsense, physics, etc.) for planning, alongside an agent-generated corpus for visual self-correction. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniReason achieves advanced performance on reasoning-intensive benchmarks such as WISE, KrisBench and UniREditBench, while maintaining superior general synthesis capabilities.

Benchmark Self-Evolving: A Multi-Agent Framework for Dynamic LLM EvaluationSiyuan Wang, Zhuohan Long, Zhihao Fan et al.
This paper presents a benchmark self-evolving framework to dynamically evaluate rapidly advancing Large Language Models (LLMs), aiming for a more accurate assessment of their capabilities and limitations. We utilize a multi-agent system to manipulate the context or question of original instances, reframing new evolving instances with high confidence that dynamically extend existing benchmarks. Towards a more scalable, robust and fine-grained evaluation, we implement six reframing operations to construct evolving instances testing LLMs against diverse queries, data noise and probing their problem-solving sub-abilities. With this framework, we extend benchmark datasets of four tasks. Experimental results show a general performance decline in most LLMs against their original results. This decline under our scalable and robust evaluations, alongside our fine-grained evaluation, more accurately reflect models' capabilities. Besides, our framework widens performance discrepancies both between different models and within the same model across various tasks, facilitating more informed model selection for specific tasks (Code and data are available at https://github.com/NanshineLoong/Self-Evolving-Benchmark).

AI Hospital: Benchmarking Large Language Models in a Multi-agent Medical Interaction SimulatorZhihao Fan, Jialong Tang, Wei Chen et al.
Artificial intelligence has significantly advanced healthcare, particularly through large language models (LLMs) that excel in medical question answering benchmarks. However, their real-world clinical application remains limited due to the complexities of doctor-patient interactions. To address this, we introduce \textbf{AI Hospital}, a multi-agent framework simulating dynamic medical interactions between \emph{Doctor} as player and NPCs including \emph{Patient}, \emph{Examiner}, \emph{Chief Physician}. This setup allows for realistic assessments of LLMs in clinical scenarios. We develop the Multi-View Medical Evaluation (MVME) benchmark, utilizing high-quality Chinese medical records and NPCs to evaluate LLMs' performance in symptom collection, examination recommendations, and diagnoses. Additionally, a dispute resolution collaborative mechanism is proposed to enhance diagnostic accuracy through iterative discussions. Despite improvements, current LLMs exhibit significant performance gaps in multi-turn interactions compared to one-step approaches. Our findings highlight the need for further research to bridge these gaps and improve LLMs' clinical diagnostic capabilities. Multi-parametric Analysis for Mixed Integer Linear Programming: An Application to Transmission Planning and Congestion ControlJian Liu, Rui Bo, Siyuan Wang
Enhancing existing transmission lines is a useful tool to combat transmission congestion and guarantee transmission security with increasing demand and boosting the renewable energy source. This study concerns the selection of lines whose capacity should be expanded and by how much from the perspective of independent system operator (ISO) to minimize the system cost with the consideration of transmission line constraints and electricity generation and demand balance conditions, and incorporating ramp-up and startup ramp rates, shutdown ramp rates, ramp-down rate limits and minimum up and minimum down times. For that purpose, we develop the ISO unit commitment and economic dispatch model and show it as a right-hand side uncertainty multiple parametric analysis for the mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem. We first relax the binary variable to continuous variables and employ the Lagrange method and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions to obtain optimal solutions (optimal decision variables and objective function) and critical regions associated with active and inactive constraints. Further, we extend the traditional branch and bound method for the large-scale MILP problem by determining the upper bound of the problem at each node, then comparing the difference between the upper and lower bounds and reaching the approximate optimal solution within the decision makers' tolerated error range. In additional, the objective function's first derivative on the parameters of each line is used to inform the selection of lines to ease congestion and maximize social welfare. Finally, the amount of capacity upgrade will be chosen by balancing the cost-reduction rate of the objective function on parameters and the cost of the line upgrade. Our findings are supported by numerical simulation and provide transmission line planners with decision-making guidance.

DistilXLSR: A Light Weight Cross-Lingual Speech Representation ModelHaoyu Wang, Siyuan Wang, Wei-Qiang Zhang et al.
Multilingual self-supervised speech representation models have greatly enhanced the speech recognition performance for low-resource languages, and the compression of these huge models has also become a crucial prerequisite for their industrial application. In this paper, we propose DistilXLSR, a distilled cross-lingual speech representation model. By randomly shuffling the phonemes of existing speech, we reduce the linguistic information and distill cross-lingual models using only English data. We also design a layer-jumping initialization method to fully leverage the teacher's pre-trained weights. Experiments on 2 kinds of teacher models and 15 low-resource languages show that our method can reduce the parameters by 50% while maintaining cross-lingual representation ability. Our method is proven to be generalizable to various languages/teacher models and has the potential to improve the cross-lingual performance of the English pre-trained models.

OneSearch-V2: The Latent Reasoning Enhanced Self-distillation Generative Search FrameworkBen Chen, Siyuan Wang, Yufei Ma et al.
Generative Retrieval (GR) has emerged as a promising paradigm for modern search systems. Compared to multi-stage cascaded architecture, it offers advantages such as end-to-end joint optimization and high computational efficiency. OneSearch, as a representative industrial-scale deployed generative search framework, has brought significant commercial and operational benefits. However, its inadequate understanding of complex queries, inefficient exploitation of latent user intents, and overfitting to narrow historical preferences have limited its further performance improvement. To address these challenges, we propose \textbf{OneSearch-V2}, a latent reasoning enhanced self-distillation generative search framework. It contains three key innovations: (1) a thought-augmented complex query understanding module, which enables deep query understanding and overcomes the shallow semantic matching limitations of direct inference; (2) a reasoning-internalized self-distillation training pipeline, which uncovers users' potential yet precise e-commerce intentions beyond log-fitting through implicit in-context learning; (3) a behavior preference alignment optimization system, which mitigates reward hacking arising from the single conversion metric, and addresses personal preference via direct user feedback. Extensive offline evaluations demonstrate OneSearch-V2's strong query recognition and user profiling capabilities. Online A/B tests further validate its business effectiveness, yielding +3.98\% item CTR, +3.05\% buyer conversion rate, and +2.11\% order volume. Manual evaluation further confirms gains in search experience quality, with +1.65\% in page good rate and +1.37\% in query-item relevance. More importantly, OneSearch-V2 effectively mitigates common search system issues such as information bubbles and long-tail sparsity, without incurring additional inference costs or serving latency.

Sketch and Text Synergy: Fusing Structural Contours and Descriptive Attributes for Fine-Grained Image RetrievalSiyuan Wang, Hanchen Gao, Guangming Zhu et al.
Fine-grained image retrieval via hand-drawn sketches or textual descriptions remains a critical challenge due to inherent modality gaps. While hand-drawn sketches capture complex structural contours, they lack color and texture, which text effectively provides despite omitting spatial contours. Motivated by the complementary nature of these modalities, we propose the Sketch and Text Based Image Retrieval (STBIR) framework. By synergizing the rich color and texture cues from text with the structural outlines provided by sketches, STBIR achieves superior fine-grained retrieval performance. First, a curriculum learning driven robustness enhancement module is proposed to enhance the model's robustness when handling queries of varying quality. Second, we introduce a category-knowledge-based feature space optimization module, thereby significantly boosting the model's representational power. Finally, we design a multi-stage cross-modal feature alignment mechanism to effectively mitigate the challenges of cross modal feature alignment. Furthermore, we curate the fine-grained STBIR benchmark dataset to rigorously validate the efficacy of our proposed framework and to provide data support as a reference for subsequent related research. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed STBIR framework significantly outperforms state of the art methods.

Can LLMs Reason with Rules? Logic Scaffolding for Stress-Testing and Improving LLMsSiyuan Wang, Zhongyu Wei, Yejin Choi et al.
Large language models (LLMs) have achieved impressive human-like performance across various reasoning tasks. However, their mastery of underlying inferential rules still falls short of human capabilities. To investigate this, we propose a logic scaffolding inferential rule generation framework, to construct an inferential rule base, ULogic, comprising both primitive and compositional rules across five domains. Our analysis of GPT-series models over a rule subset reveals significant gaps in LLMs' logic understanding compared to human performance, especially in compositional and structural complex rules with certain bias patterns. We further distill these rules into a smaller-scale inference engine for flexible rule generation and enhancing downstream reasoning. Through a multi-judger evaluation, our inference engine proves effective in generating accurate, complex and abstract conclusions and premises, and improve various commonsense reasoning tasks. Overall, our work sheds light on LLMs' limitations in grasping inferential rule and suggests ways to enhance their logical reasoning abilities~\footnote{Code and data are available at \url{https://github.com/SiyuanWangw/ULogic}.}.

LongRoPE2: Near-Lossless LLM Context Window ScalingNing Shang, Li Lyna Zhang, Siyuan Wang et al.
LongRoPE2 is a novel approach that extends the effective context window of pre-trained large language models (LLMs) to the target length, while preserving the performance on the original shorter context window. This is achieved by three contributions: (1) a hypothesis that insufficient training in higher RoPE dimensions contributes to the persistent out-of-distribution (OOD) issues observed in existing methods; (2) an effective RoPE rescaling algorithm that adopts evolutionary search guided by "needle-driven" perplexity to address the insufficient training problem; (3) a mixed context window training approach that fine-tunes model weights to adopt rescaled RoPE for long-context sequences while preserving the short-context performance with the original RoPE. Extensive experiments on LLaMA3-8B and Phi3-mini-3.8B across various benchmarks validate the hypothesis and demonstrate the effectiveness of LongRoPE2. Remarkably, LongRoPE2 extends LLaMA3-8B to achieve a 128K effective context length while retaining over 98.5% of short-context performance, using only 10B tokens -- 80x fewer than Meta's approach, which fails to reach the target effective context length. Simple o3: Towards Interleaved Vision-Language ReasoningYe Wang, Qianglong Chen, Zejun Li et al.
Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have shown impressive performance on vision-language tasks, but their long Chain-of-Thought (CoT) capabilities in multimodal scenarios remain underexplored. Inspired by OpenAI's o3 model, which emulates human-like ''thinking with image'' through iterative visual transformations and linguistic reasoning, we propose Simple o3, an end-to-end framework that integrates dynamic tool interactions (e.g., cropping, zooming, and reusing) into interleaved vision-language reasoning via supervised fine-tuning (SFT). Our approach features a scalable data synthesis pipeline that generates high-quality interleaved vision-language reasoning chains via an ''observe-reason-act'' cycle, complete with executable visual operations and rigorous verification, yielding the open-source TWI-Tools-146K dataset. Experimental results demonstrate Simple o3's superior performance on diverse benchmarks, outperforming existing approaches. By combining enhanced reasoning capabilities, Simple o3 establishes a powerful yet computationally affordable paradigm for advancing multimodal reasoning. Remarkably, we provide the first in-depth analysis of different interleaved reasoning strategies, offering insights into their impact on model performance. We found that by introducing additional visual tokens for interleaved vision-language reasoning, reusing and magnifying the original image significantly improves the model's visual reasoning and fine-grained perception, while image cropping based on precise visual grounding allows the model to effectively focus on key entities or regions, further enhancing its capabilities.

ALaRM: Align Language Models via Hierarchical Rewards ModelingYuhang Lai, Siyuan Wang, Shujun Liu et al.
We introduce ALaRM, the first framework modeling hierarchical rewards in reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), which is designed to enhance the alignment of large language models (LLMs) with human preferences. The framework addresses the limitations of current alignment approaches, which often struggle with the inconsistency and sparsity of human supervision signals, by integrating holistic rewards with aspect-specific rewards. This integration enables more precise and consistent guidance of language models towards desired outcomes, particularly in complex and open text generation tasks. By employing a methodology that filters and combines multiple rewards based on their consistency, the framework provides a reliable mechanism for improving model alignment. We validate our approach through applications in long-form question answering and machine translation tasks, employing gpt-3.5-turbo for pairwise comparisons, and demonstrate improvements over existing baselines. Our work underscores the effectiveness of hierarchical rewards modeling in refining LLM training processes for better human preference alignment. We release our code at https://ALaRM-fdu.github.io.

ST-EVO: Towards Generative Spatio-Temporal Evolution of Multi-Agent Communication TopologiesXingjian Wu, Xvyuan Liu, Junkai Lu et al.
LLM-powered Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) have emerged as an effective approach towards collaborative intelligence, and have attracted wide research interests. Among them, ``self-evolving'' MAS, treated as a more flexible and powerful technical route, can construct task-adaptive workflows or communication topologies, instead of relying on a predefined static structue template. Current self-evolving MAS mainly focus on Spatial Evolving or Temporal Evolving paradigm, which only considers the single dimension of evolution and does not fully incentivize LLMs' collaborative capability. In this work, we start from a novel Spatio-Temporal perspective by proposing ST-EVO, which supports dialogue-wise communication scheduling with a compact yet powerful flow-matching based Scheduler. To make precise Spatio-Temporal scheduling, ST-EVO can also perceive the uncertainty of MAS, and possesses self-feedback ability to learn from accumulated experience. Extensive experiments on nine benchmarks demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of ST-EVO, achieving about 5%--25% accuracy improvement.

Autoregressive Semantic Visual Reconstruction Helps VLMs Understand BetterDianyi Wang, Wei Song, Yikun Wang et al.
Typical large vision-language models (LVLMs) apply autoregressive supervision solely to textual sequences, without fully incorporating the visual modality into the learning process. This results in three key limitations: (1) an inability to utilize images without accompanying captions, (2) the risk that captions omit critical visual details, and (3) the challenge that certain vision-centric content cannot be adequately conveyed through text. As a result, current LVLMs often prioritize vision-to-language alignment while potentially overlooking fine-grained visual information. While some prior works have explored autoregressive image generation, effectively leveraging autoregressive visual supervision to enhance image understanding remains an open challenge. In this paper, we introduce Autoregressive Semantic Visual Reconstruction (ASVR), which enables joint learning of visual and textual modalities within a unified autoregressive framework. We show that autoregressively reconstructing the raw visual appearance of images does not enhance and may even impair multimodal understanding. In contrast, autoregressively reconstructing the semantic representation of images consistently improves comprehension. Notably, we find that even when models are given continuous image features as input, they can effectively reconstruct discrete semantic tokens, resulting in stable and consistent improvements across a wide range of multimodal understanding benchmarks. Our approach delivers significant performance gains across varying data scales (556k-2M) and types of LLM bacbones. SpatialAnt: Autonomous Zero-Shot Robot Navigation via Active Scene Reconstruction and Visual AnticipationJiwen Zhang, Xiangyu Shi, Siyuan Wang et al.
Vision-and-Language Navigation (VLN) has recently benefited from Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs), enabling zero-shot navigation. While recent exploration-based zero-shot methods have shown promising results by leveraging global scene priors, they rely on high-quality human-crafted scene reconstructions, which are impractical for real-world robot deployment. When encountering an unseen environment, a robot should build its own priors through pre-exploration. However, these self-built reconstructions are inevitably incomplete and noisy, which severely degrade methods that depend on high-quality scene reconstructions. To address these issues, we propose SpatialAnt, a zero-shot navigation framework designed to bridge the gap between imperfect self-reconstructions and robust execution. SpatialAnt introduces a physical grounding strategy to recover the absolute metric scale for monocular-based reconstructions. Furthermore, rather than treating the noisy self-reconstructed scenes as absolute spatial references, we propose a novel visual anticipation mechanism. This mechanism leverages the noisy point clouds to render future observations, enabling the agent to perform counterfactual reasoning and prune paths that contradict human instructions. Extensive experiments in both simulated and real-world environments demonstrate that SpatialAnt significantly outperforms existing zero-shot methods. We achieve a 66% Success Rate (SR) on R2R-CE and 50.8% SR on RxR-CE benchmarks. Physical deployment on a Hello Robot further confirms the efficiency and efficacy of our framework, achieving a 52% SR in challenging real-world settings.

AIonopedia: an LLM agent orchestrating multimodal learning for ionic liquid discoveryYuqi Yin, Yibo Fu, Siyuan Wang et al.
The discovery of novel Ionic Liquids (ILs) is hindered by critical challenges in property prediction, including limited data, poor model accuracy, and fragmented workflows. Leveraging the power of Large Language Models (LLMs), we introduce AIonopedia, to the best of our knowledge, the first LLM agent for IL discovery. Powered by an LLM-augmented multimodal domain foundation model for ILs, AIonopedia enables accurate property predictions and incorporates a hierarchical search architecture for molecular screening and design. Trained and evaluated on a newly curated and comprehensive IL dataset, our model delivers superior performance. Complementing these results, evaluations on literature-reported systems indicate that the agent can perform effective IL modification. Moving beyond offline tests, the practical efficacy was further confirmed through real-world wet-lab validation, in which the agent demonstrated exceptional generalization capabilities on challenging out-of-distribution tasks, underscoring its ability to accelerate real-world IL discovery.

MoIIE: Mixture of Intra- and Inter-Modality Experts for Large Vision Language ModelsDianyi Wang, Siyuan Wang, Zejun Li et al.
Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) have demonstrated remarkable performance across multi-modal tasks by scaling model size and training data. However, these dense LVLMs incur significant computational costs and motivate the exploration of sparse Mixture of Experts (MoE) architectures. While MoE improve parameter efficiency, effectively applying MoE to simultaneously model modality-specific features and cross-modal associations in LVLMs remains challenging. In this work, we propose to incorporate Mixture of Intra- and Inter-Modality Experts (MoIIE) to LVLMs. For each token, expert routing is guided by its modality, directing tokens to their respective intra-modality experts as well as a shared pool of inter-modality experts, enabling the model to jointly learn rich intra-modal features and cross-modal interactions. We further introduce an effective and straightforward two-stage training strategy, which facilitates the direct activation of both MoE and multi-modal capabilities. Extensive experiments across different data scales and LLM backbone demonstrate the effectiveness, efficiency and generality of our approach. Notably, our MoIIE models with 5.5B and 11.3B activated parameters match or even surpass the performance of existing advanced open-source MoE-LLMs based multi-modal models that involve more activated parameters. Enhance Sketch Recognition's Explainability via Semantic Component-Level ParsingGuangming Zhu, Siyuan Wang, Tianci Wu et al.
Free-hand sketches are appealing for humans as a universal tool to depict the visual world. Humans can recognize varied sketches of a category easily by identifying the concurrence and layout of the intrinsic semantic components of the category, since humans draw free-hand sketches based a common consensus that which types of semantic components constitute each sketch category. For example, an airplane should at least have a fuselage and wings. Based on this analysis, a semantic component-level memory module is constructed and embedded in the proposed structured sketch recognition network in this paper. The memory keys representing semantic components of each sketch category can be self-learned and enhance the recognition network's explainability. Our proposed networks can deal with different situations of sketch recognition, i.e., with or without semantic components labels of strokes. Experiments on the SPG and SketchIME datasets demonstrate the memory module's flexibility and the recognition network's explainability. Interleaved Latent Visual Reasoning with Selective Perceptual ModelingShuai Dong, Siyuan Wang, Xingyu Liu et al.
Interleaved reasoning paradigms enhance Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) with visual feedback but are hindered by the prohibitive computational cost of re-encoding pixel-dense images. A promising alternative, latent visual reasoning, circumvents this bottleneck yet faces limitations: methods either fail to capture intermediate state evolution due to single-step, non-interleaved structures, or sacrifice precise perceptual modeling by over-compressing features. We introduce Interleaved Latent Visual Reasoning (ILVR), a framework that unifies dynamic state evolution with precise perceptual modeling. ILVR interleaves textual generation with latent visual representations that act as specific, evolving cues for subsequent reasoning. Specifically, we employ a self-supervision strategy where a momentum teacher model selectively distills relevant features from ground-truth intermediate images into sparse supervision targets. This adaptive selection mechanism guides the model to autonomously generate context-aware visual signals. Extensive experiments on multimodal reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that ILVR outperforms existing approaches, effectively bridging the gap between fine-grained perception and sequential multimodal reasoning. UniSync: Towards Generalizable and High-Fidelity Lip Synchronization for Challenging ScenariosRuidi Fan, Yang Zhou, Siyuan Wang et al.
Lip synchronization aims to generate realistic talking videos that match given audio, which is essential for high-quality video dubbing. However, current methods have fundamental drawbacks: mask-based approaches suffer from local color discrepancies, while mask-free methods struggle with global background texture misalignment. Furthermore, most methods struggle with diverse real-world scenarios such as stylized avatars, face occlusion, and extreme lighting conditions. In this paper, we propose UniSync, a unified framework designed for achieving high-fidelity lip synchronization in diverse scenarios. Specifically, UniSync uses a mask-free pose-anchored training strategy to keep head motion and eliminate synthesis color artifacts, while employing mask-based blending consistent inference to ensure structural precision and smooth blending. Notably, fine-tuning on compact but diverse videos empowers our model with exceptional domain adaptability, handling complex corner cases effectively. We also introduce the RealWorld-LipSync benchmark to evaluate models under real-world demands, which covers diverse application scenarios including both human faces and stylized avatars. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniSync significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods, advancing the field towards truly generalizable and production-ready lip synchronization.

Lookahead Tree-Based Rollouts for Enhanced Trajectory-Level Exploration in Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable RewardsShangyu Xing, Siyuan Wang, Chenyuan Yang et al.
Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR), particularly with algorithms like Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO), has proven highly effective in enhancing the reasoning capabilities of large language models. However, a critical bottleneck in current pipelines lies in the limited diversity of sampled trajectories during group rollouts. Homogeneous trajectories and their associated rewards would diminish the return signals for policy updates, thereby hindering effective policy learning. This lack of diversity stems primarily from token-level stochastic sampling, where local variations are likely to collapse into near-identical reasoning paths. To address this limitation, we propose Lookahead Tree-Based Rollouts (LATR), a novel rollout strategy designed to explicitly promotes trajectory-level diversity by enforcing branching into different candidate tokens likely to yield distinct continuations. Specifically, LATR iteratively operates in three stages: (1) branching at high-uncertainty generation steps, (2) performing lookahead simulation for each new branch, and (3) pruning branches that exhibits prolonged similarity during simulation. Compared with stochastic Sampling, LATR accelerates policy learning by 131% on average and improves final pass@1 performance by 4.2% on both GRPO and Dynamic sAmpling Policy Optimization (DAPO) algorithms across different reasoning tasks. Prompt-guided Representation Disentanglement for Action RecognitionTianci Wu, Guangming Zhu, Jiang Lu et al.
Action recognition is a fundamental task in video understanding. Existing methods typically extract unified features to process all actions in one video, which makes it challenging to model the interactions between different objects in multi-action scenarios. To alleviate this issue, we explore disentangling any specified actions from complex scenes as an effective solution. In this paper, we propose Prompt-guided Disentangled Representation for Action Recognition (ProDA), a novel framework that disentangles any specified actions from a multi-action scene. ProDA leverages Spatio-temporal Scene Graphs (SSGs) and introduces Dynamic Prompt Module (DPM) to guide a Graph Parsing Neural Network (GPNN) in generating action-specific representations. Furthermore, we design a video-adapted GPNN that aggregates information using dynamic weights. MMGT: Motion Mask Guided Two-Stage Network for Co-Speech Gesture Video GenerationSiyuan Wang, Jiawei Liu, Wei Wang et al.
Co-Speech Gesture Video Generation aims to generate vivid speech videos from audio-driven still images, which is challenging due to the diversity of different parts of the body in terms of amplitude of motion, audio relevance, and detailed features. Relying solely on audio as the control signal often fails to capture large gesture movements in video, leading to more pronounced artifacts and distortions. Existing approaches typically address this issue by introducing additional a priori information, but this can limit the practical application of the task. Specifically, we propose a Motion Mask-Guided Two-Stage Network (MMGT) that uses audio, as well as motion masks and motion features generated from the audio signal to jointly drive the generation of synchronized speech gesture videos. In the first stage, the Spatial Mask-Guided Audio Pose Generation (SMGA) Network generates high-quality pose videos and motion masks from audio, effectively capturing large movements in key regions such as the face and gestures. In the second stage, we integrate the Motion Masked Hierarchical Audio Attention (MM-HAA) into the Stabilized Diffusion Video Generation model, overcoming limitations in fine-grained motion generation and region-specific detail control found in traditional methods. Not All Models Suit Expert Offloading: On Local Routing Consistency of Mixture-of-Expert ModelsJingcong Liang, Siyuan Wang, Miren Tian et al.
Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) enables efficient scaling of large language models (LLMs) with sparsely activated experts during inference. To effectively deploy large MoE models on memory-constrained devices, many systems introduce *expert offloading* that caches a subset of experts in fast memory, leaving others on slow memory to run on CPU or load on demand. While some research has exploited the locality of expert activations, where consecutive tokens activate similar experts, the degree of this **local routing consistency** varies across models and remains understudied. In this paper, we propose two metrics to measure local routing consistency of MoE models: (1) **Segment Routing Best Performance (SRP)**, which evaluates how well a fixed group of experts can cover the needs of a segment of tokens, and (2) **Segment Cache Best Hit Rate (SCH)**, which measures the optimal segment-level cache hit rate under a given cache size limit. We analyzed 20 MoE LLMs with diverse sizes and architectures and found that models that apply MoE on every layer and do not use shared experts exhibit the highest local routing consistency. We further showed that domain-specialized experts contribute more to routing consistency than vocabulary-specialized ones, and that most models can balance between cache effectiveness and efficiency with cache sizes approximately 2x the active experts. OViP: Online Vision-Language Preference Learning for VLM HallucinationShujun Liu, Siyuan Wang, Zejun Li et al.
Large vision-language models (LVLMs) remain vulnerable to hallucination, often generating content misaligned with visual inputs. Although recent training-based approaches aim to mitigate hallucination, they typically rely on predefined or randomly edited negative samples that do not reflect actual model errors, thus limiting training efficacy. In this work, we propose an Online Vision-language Preference Learning (OViP) framework that dynamically constructs contrastive training data based on the model's own hallucinated outputs. By identifying semantic differences between sampled response pairs and synthesizing negative images using a diffusion model, OViP generates more relevant supervision signals in real time. This failure-driven training enables adaptive alignment of both textual and visual preferences. Moreover, we refine existing evaluation protocols to better capture the trade-off between hallucination suppression and expressiveness. Experiments on hallucination and general benchmarks demonstrate that OViP not only reduces hallucinations while preserving core multi-modal capabilities, but also substantially improves training efficiency. Negative Sample is Negative in Its Own Way: Tailoring Negative Sentences for Image-Text RetrievalZhihao Fan, Zhongyu Wei, Zejun Li et al.
Matching model is essential for Image-Text Retrieval framework. Existing research usually train the model with a triplet loss and explore various strategy to retrieve hard negative sentences in the dataset. We argue that current retrieval-based negative sample construction approach is limited in the scale of the dataset thus fail to identify negative sample of high difficulty for every image. We propose our TAiloring neGative Sentences with Discrimination and Correction (TAGS-DC) to generate synthetic sentences automatically as negative samples. TAGS-DC is composed of masking and refilling to generate synthetic negative sentences with higher difficulty. To keep the difficulty during training, we mutually improve the retrieval and generation through parameter sharing. To further utilize fine-grained semantic of mismatch in the negative sentence, we propose two auxiliary tasks, namely word discrimination and word correction to improve the training. In experiments, we verify the effectiveness of our model on MS-COCO and Flickr30K compared with current state-of-the-art models and demonstrates its robustness and faithfulness in the further analysis. High-Fidelity Full-Sky Video Prediction for Photovoltaic Ramp Event ForecastingSiyuan Wang, Fengqi You
Accurate ultra-short-term forecasting of photovoltaic (PV) ramp events is essential for maintaining grid stability in solar-integrated power systems, particularly under rapidly changing cloud conditions. This paper presents a generative forecasting framework that integrates a future sky video prediction model (PhyDiffNet) with a ramp aware PV output forecasting model (RaPVFormer). Based on the relatively slow yet chaotic dynamics of cloud motion, the system forecasts ramp events up to 16 minutes in advance at a 1-minute resolution by capturing fine-grained spatiotemporal cloud patterns and generating high-fidelity full-sky video frames. Interpretability is enhanced through attention visualization, highlighting cloud occlusion regions that significantly influence irradiance variability. Supported by extensive quantitative evaluation, the proposed framework demonstrates state-of-the-art performance in both full-sky video prediction and PV output forecasting. It delivers consistent improvements in structural, perceptual, and temporal video quality, along with a 10% increase in Critical Success Index (CSI) for PV ramp detection. These results demonstrate the capability of AI driven multimodal sensing for ultra short term solar forecasting, supporting more reliable renewable integration and potentially reducing dependence on reserve capacity.

We also explore the challenges and opportunities in optimizing multimodal representations and discuss how these advancements are shaping the future of healthcare by enabling improved patient outcomes and more efficient clinical workflows.

Aligning Large Language Models to a Domain-specific Graph Database for NL2GQLYuanyuan Liang, Keren Tan, Tingyu Xie et al.
Graph Databases (Graph DB) find extensive application across diverse domains such as finance, social networks, and medicine. Yet, the translation of Natural Language (NL) into the Graph Query Language (GQL), referred to as NL2GQL, poses significant challenges owing to its intricate and specialized nature. Some approaches have sought to utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to address analogous tasks like text2SQL. Nonetheless, in the realm of NL2GQL tasks tailored to a particular domain, the absence of domain-specific NL-GQL data pairs adds complexity to aligning LLMs with the graph DB. To tackle this challenge, we present a well-defined pipeline. Initially, we utilize ChatGPT to generate NL-GQL data pairs, leveraging the provided graph DB with self-instruction. Subsequently, we employ the generated data to fine-tune LLMs, ensuring alignment between LLMs and the graph DB. Moreover, we find the importance of relevant schema in efficiently generating accurate GQLs. Thus, we introduce a method to extract relevant schema as the input context. We evaluate our method using two carefully constructed datasets derived from graph DBs in the finance and medicine domains, named FinGQL and MediGQL. Experimental results reveal that our approach significantly outperforms a set of baseline methods, with improvements of 5.90 and 6.36 absolute points on EM, and 6.00 and 7.09 absolute points on EX for FinGQL and MediGQL, respectively.

Multi-Agent Simulator Drives Language Models for Legal Intensive InteractionShengbin Yue, Ting Huang, Zheng Jia et al.
Large Language Models (LLMs) have significantly advanced legal intelligence, but the scarcity of scenario data impedes the progress toward interactive legal scenarios. This paper introduces a Multi-agent Legal Simulation Driver (MASER) to scalably generate synthetic data by simulating interactive legal scenarios. Leveraging real-legal case sources, MASER ensures the consistency of legal attributes between participants and introduces a supervisory mechanism to align participants' characters and behaviors as well as addressing distractions. A Multi-stage Interactive Legal Evaluation (MILE) benchmark is further constructed to evaluate LLMs' performance in dynamic legal scenarios. Extensive experiments confirm the effectiveness of our framework.

Stepwise Informativeness Search for Efficient and Effective LLM ReasoningSiyuan Wang, Enda Zhao, Zhongyu Wei et al.
Advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have significantly improved multi-step reasoning through generating free-text rationales. However, recent studies show that LLMs tend to lose focus over the middle of long contexts. This raises concerns that as reasoning progresses, LLMs may overlook information in earlier steps when decoding subsequent steps, leading to generate unreliable and redundant rationales. To address this, we propose guiding LLMs to generate more accurate and concise step-by-step rationales by (1) proactively referencing information from underutilized prior steps, and (2) minimizing redundant information between new and existing steps. We introduce stepwise informativeness search, an inference-time tree search framework incorporating two selection heuristics: grounding-guided selection which prioritizes steps paying higher attention over underutilized steps; and novelty-guided selection which encourages steps with novel conclusions. During rationale generation, we use a self-grounding strategy that prompts LLMs to explicitly reference relevant prior steps to provide premises before deduction at each step. Experimental results on four reasoning datasets demonstrate that our approach improves reasoning accuracy by generating higher-quality rationales with reduced errors and redundancy.
