Point-to-Box Network for Accurate Object Detection via Single Point SupervisionPengfei Chen, Xuehui Yu, Xumeng Han et al. · gatech
Object detection using single point supervision has received increasing attention over the years. However, the performance gap between point supervised object detection (PSOD) and bounding box supervised detection remains large. In this paper, we attribute such a large performance gap to the failure of generating high-quality proposal bags which are crucial for multiple instance learning (MIL). To address this problem, we introduce a lightweight alternative to the off-the-shelf proposal (OTSP) method and thereby create the Point-to-Box Network (P2BNet), which can construct an inter-objects balanced proposal bag by generating proposals in an anchor-like way. By fully investigating the accurate position information, P2BNet further constructs an instance-level bag, avoiding the mixture of multiple objects. Finally, a coarse-to-fine policy in a cascade fashion is utilized to improve the IoU between proposals and ground-truth (GT). Benefiting from these strategies, P2BNet is able to produce high-quality instance-level bags for object detection. P2BNet improves the mean average precision (AP) by more than 50% relative to the previous best PSOD method on the MS COCO dataset. MSDN: Mutually Semantic Distillation Network for Zero-Shot LearningShiming Chen, Ziming Hong, Guo-Sen Xie et al. · pku
The key challenge of zero-shot learning (ZSL) is how to infer the latent semantic knowledge between visual and attribute features on seen classes, and thus achieving a desirable knowledge transfer to unseen classes. Prior works either simply align the global features of an image with its associated class semantic vector or utilize unidirectional attention to learn the limited latent semantic representations, which could not effectively discover the intrinsic semantic knowledge e.g., attribute semantics) between visual and attribute features. To solve the above dilemma, we propose a Mutually Semantic Distillation Network (MSDN), which progressively distills the intrinsic semantic representations between visual and attribute features for ZSL. MSDN incorporates an attribute$\rightarrow$visual attention sub-net that learns attribute-based visual features, and a visual$\rightarrow$attribute attention sub-net that learns visual-based attribute features. By further introducing a semantic distillation loss, the two mutual attention sub-nets are capable of learning collaboratively and teaching each other throughout the training process. The proposed MSDN yields significant improvements over the strong baselines, leading to new state-of-the-art performances on three popular challenging benchmarks, i.e., CUB, SUN, and AWA2. AdaptivePose++: A Powerful Single-Stage Network for Multi-Person Pose RegressionYabo Xiao, Xiaojuan Wang, Dongdong Yu et al.
Multi-person pose estimation generally follows top-down and bottom-up paradigms. Both of them use an extra stage ($\boldsymbol{e.g.,}$ human detection in top-down paradigm or grouping process in bottom-up paradigm) to build the relationship between the human instance and corresponding keypoints, thus leading to the high computation cost and redundant two-stage pipeline. To address the above issue, we propose to represent the human parts as adaptive points and introduce a fine-grained body representation method. The novel body representation is able to sufficiently encode the diverse pose information and effectively model the relationship between the human instance and corresponding keypoints in a single-forward pass. With the proposed body representation, we further deliver a compact single-stage multi-person pose regression network, termed as AdaptivePose. During inference, our proposed network only needs a single-step decode operation to form the multi-person pose without complex post-processes and refinements. We employ AdaptivePose for both 2D/3D multi-person pose estimation tasks to verify the effectiveness of AdaptivePose. Without any bells and whistles, we achieve the most competitive performance on MS COCO and CrowdPose in terms of accuracy and speed. Furthermore, the outstanding performance on MuCo-3DHP and MuPoTS-3D further demonstrates the effectiveness and generalizability on 3D scenes. 3D Implicit Transporter for Temporally Consistent Keypoint DiscoveryChengliang Zhong, Yuhang Zheng, Yupeng Zheng et al.
Keypoint-based representation has proven advantageous in various visual and robotic tasks. However, the existing 2D and 3D methods for detecting keypoints mainly rely on geometric consistency to achieve spatial alignment, neglecting temporal consistency. To address this issue, the Transporter method was introduced for 2D data, which reconstructs the target frame from the source frame to incorporate both spatial and temporal information. However, the direct application of the Transporter to 3D point clouds is infeasible due to their structural differences from 2D images. Thus, we propose the first 3D version of the Transporter, which leverages hybrid 3D representation, cross attention, and implicit reconstruction. We apply this new learning system on 3D articulated objects and nonrigid animals (humans and rodents) and show that learned keypoints are spatio-temporally consistent. Additionally, we propose a closed-loop control strategy that utilizes the learned keypoints for 3D object manipulation and demonstrate its superior performance. MSINet: Twins Contrastive Search of Multi-Scale Interaction for Object ReIDJianyang Gu, Kai Wang, Hao Luo et al.
Neural Architecture Search (NAS) has been increasingly appealing to the society of object Re-Identification (ReID), for that task-specific architectures significantly improve the retrieval performance. Previous works explore new optimizing targets and search spaces for NAS ReID, yet they neglect the difference of training schemes between image classification and ReID. In this work, we propose a novel Twins Contrastive Mechanism (TCM) to provide more appropriate supervision for ReID architecture search. TCM reduces the category overlaps between the training and validation data, and assists NAS in simulating real-world ReID training schemes. We then design a Multi-Scale Interaction (MSI) search space to search for rational interaction operations between multi-scale features. In addition, we introduce a Spatial Alignment Module (SAM) to further enhance the attention consistency confronted with images from different sources. Under the proposed NAS scheme, a specific architecture is automatically searched, named as MSINet. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method surpasses state-of-the-art ReID methods on both in-domain and cross-domain scenarios. Source code available in https://github.com/vimar-gu/MSINet.

Humans' ALMANAC: A Human Collaboration Dataset of Action-Level Mental Model Annotations for Agent CollaborationJiaju Chen, Yuxuan Lu, Jiayi Su et al.
Recent advances in LLM agents have enabled complex cognitive capabilities, such as multi-step reasoning, planning, and tool use, that increasingly position these agents as human collaborators. Effective collaboration, however, requires collaborators to continuously maintain and align mental models of their own reasoning,partners' intentions, and shared goals during the collaborative process. Today's agents rarely develop such capabilities since they are primarily optimized for task completion, and the community lacks authentic human collaboration data with action-level mental model annotations that could guide agents toward process-level collaborative competence. To bridge this gap, we present ALMANAC, a dataset of Action-Level Mental model ANnotations for Agent Collaboration built from the Map Task, a classic dyadic routing task from social science. ALMANAC contains 2,987 collaboration actions, each paired with theory-informed mental model annotations that record the participants' self-reasoning, perceived partner intent, and perceived team goal. We benchmark six LLMs on predicting humans' next-turn behavior and mental models. Our results demonstrate ALMANAC's utility in evaluating models' ability to simulate human collaborative behaviors and infer their underlying mental models.

Evidential Detection and Tracking Collaboration: New Problem, Benchmark and Algorithm for Robust Anti-UAV SystemXue-Feng Zhu, Tianyang Xu, Jian Zhao et al.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been widely used in many areas, including transportation, surveillance, and military. However, their potential for safety and privacy violations is an increasing issue and highly limits their broader applications, underscoring the critical importance of UAV perception and defense (anti-UAV). Still, previous works have simplified such an anti-UAV task as a tracking problem, where the prior information of UAVs is always provided; such a scheme fails in real-world anti-UAV tasks (i.e. complex scenes, indeterminate-appear and -reappear UAVs, and real-time UAV surveillance). In this paper, we first formulate a new and practical anti-UAV problem featuring the UAVs perception in complex scenes without prior UAVs information. To benchmark such a challenging task, we propose the largest UAV dataset dubbed AntiUAV600 and a new evaluation metric. The AntiUAV600 comprises 600 video sequences of challenging scenes with random, fast, and small-scale UAVs, with over 723K thermal infrared frames densely annotated with bounding boxes. Finally, we develop a novel anti-UAV approach via an evidential collaboration of global UAVs detection and local UAVs tracking, which effectively tackles the proposed problem and can serve as a strong baseline for future research. Extensive experiments show our method outperforms SOTA approaches and validate the ability of AntiUAV600 to enhance UAV perception performance due to its large scale and complexity. Our dataset, pretrained models, and source codes will be released publically.

LDSA: Learning Dynamic Subtask Assignment in Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement LearningMingyu Yang, Jian Zhao, Xunhan Hu et al.
Cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) has made prominent progress in recent years. For training efficiency and scalability, most of the MARL algorithms make all agents share the same policy or value network. However, in many complex multi-agent tasks, different agents are expected to possess specific abilities to handle different subtasks. In those scenarios, sharing parameters indiscriminately may lead to similar behavior across all agents, which will limit the exploration efficiency and degrade the final performance. To balance the training complexity and the diversity of agent behavior, we propose a novel framework to learn dynamic subtask assignment (LDSA) in cooperative MARL. Specifically, we first introduce a subtask encoder to construct a vector representation for each subtask according to its identity. To reasonably assign agents to different subtasks, we propose an ability-based subtask selection strategy, which can dynamically group agents with similar abilities into the same subtask. In this way, agents dealing with the same subtask share their learning of specific abilities and different subtasks correspond to different specific abilities. We further introduce two regularizers to increase the representation difference between subtasks and stabilize the training by discouraging agents from frequently changing subtasks, respectively. Empirical results show that LDSA learns reasonable and effective subtask assignment for better collaboration and significantly improves the learning performance on the challenging StarCraft II micromanagement benchmark and Google Research Football.

Color Prompting for Data-Free Continual Unsupervised Domain Adaptive Person Re-IdentificationJianyang Gu, Hao Luo, Kai Wang et al.
Unsupervised domain adaptive person re-identification (Re-ID) methods alleviate the burden of data annotation through generating pseudo supervision messages. However, real-world Re-ID systems, with continuously accumulating data streams, simultaneously demand more robust adaptation and anti-forgetting capabilities. Methods based on image rehearsal addresses the forgetting issue with limited extra storage but carry the risk of privacy leakage. In this work, we propose a Color Prompting (CoP) method for data-free continual unsupervised domain adaptive person Re-ID. Specifically, we employ a light-weighted prompter network to fit the color distribution of the current task together with Re-ID training. Then for the incoming new tasks, the learned color distribution serves as color style transfer guidance to transfer the images into past styles. CoP achieves accurate color style recovery for past tasks with adequate data diversity, leading to superior anti-forgetting effects compared with image rehearsal methods. Moreover, CoP demonstrates strong generalization performance for fast adaptation into new domains, given only a small amount of unlabeled images. Extensive experiments demonstrate that after the continual training pipeline the proposed CoP achieves 6.7% and 8.1% average rank-1 improvements over the replay method on seen and unseen domains, respectively. CTDS: Centralized Teacher with Decentralized Student for Multi-Agent Reinforcement LearningJian Zhao, Xunhan Hu, Mingyu Yang et al.
Due to the partial observability and communication constraints in many multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) tasks, centralized training with decentralized execution (CTDE) has become one of the most widely used MARL paradigms. In CTDE, centralized information is dedicated to learning the allocation of the team reward with a mixing network, while the learning of individual Q-values is usually based on local observations. The insufficient utility of global observation will degrade performance in challenging environments. To this end, this work proposes a novel Centralized Teacher with Decentralized Student (CTDS) framework, which consists of a teacher model and a student model. Specifically, the teacher model allocates the team reward by learning individual Q-values conditioned on global observation, while the student model utilizes the partial observations to approximate the Q-values estimated by the teacher model. In this way, CTDS balances the full utilization of global observation during training and the feasibility of decentralized execution for online inference. Our CTDS framework is generic which is ready to be applied upon existing CTDE methods to boost their performance. We conduct experiments on a challenging set of StarCraft II micromanagement tasks to test the effectiveness of our method and the results show that CTDS outperforms the existing value-based MARL methods.

Image Data Augmentation for Deep Learning: A SurveySuorong Yang, Weikang Xiao, Mengchen Zhang et al.
Deep learning has achieved remarkable results in many computer vision tasks. Deep neural networks typically rely on large amounts of training data to avoid overfitting. However, labeled data for real-world applications may be limited. By improving the quantity and diversity of training data, data augmentation has become an inevitable part of deep learning model training with image data. As an effective way to improve the sufficiency and diversity of training data, data augmentation has become a necessary part of successful application of deep learning models on image data. In this paper, we systematically review different image data augmentation methods. We propose a taxonomy of reviewed methods and present the strengths and limitations of these methods. We also conduct extensive experiments with various data augmentation methods on three typical computer vision tasks, including semantic segmentation, image classification and object detection. Finally, we discuss current challenges faced by data augmentation and future research directions to put forward some useful research guidance.

DouZero+: Improving DouDizhu AI by Opponent Modeling and Coach-guided LearningYoupeng Zhao, Jian Zhao, Xunhan Hu et al.
Recent years have witnessed the great breakthrough of deep reinforcement learning (DRL) in various perfect and imperfect information games. Among these games, DouDizhu, a popular card game in China, is very challenging due to the imperfect information, large state space, elements of collaboration and a massive number of possible moves from turn to turn. Recently, a DouDizhu AI system called DouZero has been proposed. Trained using traditional Monte Carlo method with deep neural networks and self-play procedure without the abstraction of human prior knowledge, DouZero has outperformed all the existing DouDizhu AI programs. In this work, we propose to enhance DouZero by introducing opponent modeling into DouZero. Besides, we propose a novel coach network to further boost the performance of DouZero and accelerate its training process. With the integration of the above two techniques into DouZero, our DouDizhu AI system achieves better performance and ranks top in the Botzone leaderboard among more than 400 AI agents, including DouZero.

Coach-assisted Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning Framework for Unexpected Crashed AgentsJian Zhao, Youpeng Zhao, Weixun Wang et al.
Multi-agent reinforcement learning is difficult to be applied in practice, which is partially due to the gap between the simulated and real-world scenarios. One reason for the gap is that the simulated systems always assume that the agents can work normally all the time, while in practice, one or more agents may unexpectedly "crash" during the coordination process due to inevitable hardware or software failures. Such crashes will destroy the cooperation among agents, leading to performance degradation. In this work, we present a formal formulation of a cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning system with unexpected crashes. To enhance the robustness of the system to crashes, we propose a coach-assisted multi-agent reinforcement learning framework, which introduces a virtual coach agent to adjust the crash rate during training. We design three coaching strategies and the re-sampling strategy for our coach agent. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first to study the unexpected crashes in the multi-agent system. Extensive experiments on grid-world and StarCraft II micromanagement tasks demonstrate the efficacy of adaptive strategy compared with the fixed crash rate strategy and curriculum learning strategy. The ablation study further illustrates the effectiveness of our re-sampling strategy.

Bias-Restrained Prefix Representation Finetuning for Mathematical ReasoningSirui Liang, Pengfei Cao, Jian Zhao et al.
Parameter-Efficient finetuning (PEFT) enhances model performance on downstream tasks by updating a minimal subset of parameters. Representation finetuning (ReFT) methods further improve efficiency by freezing model weights and optimizing internal representations with fewer parameters than PEFT, outperforming PEFT on several tasks. However, ReFT exhibits a significant performance decline on mathematical reasoning tasks. To address this problem, the paper demonstrates that ReFT's poor performance on mathematical tasks primarily stems from its struggle to generate effective reasoning prefixes during the early inference phase. Moreover, ReFT disturbs the numerical encoding and the error accumulats during the CoT stage. Based on these observations, this paper proposes Bias-REstrained Prefix Representation FineTuning (BREP ReFT), which enhances ReFT's mathematical reasoning capability by truncating training data to optimize the generation of initial reasoning prefixes, intervening on the early inference stage to prevent error accumulation, and constraining the intervention vectors' magnitude to avoid disturbing numerical encoding. Extensive experiments across diverse model architectures demonstrate BREP's superior effectiveness, efficiency, and robust generalization capability, outperforming both standard ReFT and weight-based PEFT methods on the task of mathematical reasoning. Unified Single-Stage Transformer Network for Efficient RGB-T TrackingJianqiang Xia, DianXi Shi, Ke Song et al.
Most existing RGB-T tracking networks extract modality features in a separate manner, which lacks interaction and mutual guidance between modalities. This limits the network's ability to adapt to the diverse dual-modality appearances of targets and the dynamic relationships between the modalities. Additionally, the three-stage fusion tracking paradigm followed by these networks significantly restricts the tracking speed. To overcome these problems, we propose a unified single-stage Transformer RGB-T tracking network, namely USTrack, which unifies the above three stages into a single ViT (Vision Transformer) backbone with a dual embedding layer through self-attention mechanism. With this structure, the network can extract fusion features of the template and search region under the mutual interaction of modalities. Simultaneously, relation modeling is performed between these features, efficiently obtaining the search region fusion features with better target-background discriminability for prediction. Furthermore, we introduce a novel feature selection mechanism based on modality reliability to mitigate the influence of invalid modalities for prediction, further improving the tracking performance. Extensive experiments on three popular RGB-T tracking benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves new state-of-the-art performance while maintaining the fastest inference speed 84.2FPS. In particular, MPR/MSR on the short-term and long-term subsets of VTUAV dataset increased by 11.1$\%$/11.7$\%$ and 11.3$\%$/9.7$\%$.

DrawMotion: Generating 3D Human Motions by Freehand DrawingTao Wang, Lei Jin, Zhihua Wu et al.
Text-to-motion generation, which translates textual descriptions into human motions, faces the challenge that users often struggle to precisely convey their intended motions through text alone. To address this issue, this paper introduces DrawMotion, an efficient diffusion-based framework designed for multi-condition scenarios. DrawMotion generates motions based on both a conventional text condition and a novel hand-drawing condition, which provide semantic and spatial control over the generated motions, respectively. Specifically, we tackle the fine-grained motion generation task from three perspectives: 1) freehand drawing condition. To accurately capture users' intended motions without requiring tedious textual input, we develop an algorithm to automatically generate hand-drawn stickman sketches across different dataset formats; 2) multi-condition fusion. We propose a Multi-Condition Module (MCM) that is integrated into the diffusion process, enabling the model to exploit all possible condition combinations while reducing computational complexity compared to conventional approaches; and 3) training-free guidance. Notably, the MCM in DrawMotion ensures that its intermediate features lie in a continuous space, allowing classifier-guidance gradients to update the features and thereby aligning the generated motions with user intentions while preserving fidelity. Quantitative experiments and user studies demonstrate that the freehand drawing approach reduces user time by approximately 46.7% when generating motions aligned with their imagination. EntAugment: Entropy-Driven Adaptive Data Augmentation Framework for Image ClassificationSuorong Yang, Furao Shen, Jian Zhao
Data augmentation (DA) has been widely used to improve the generalization of deep neural networks. While existing DA methods have proven effective, they often rely on augmentation operations with random magnitudes to each sample. However, this approach can inadvertently introduce noise, induce distribution shifts, and increase the risk of overfitting. In this paper, we propose EntAugment, a tuning-free and adaptive DA framework. Unlike previous work, EntAugment dynamically assesses and adjusts the augmentation magnitudes for each sample during training, leveraging insights into both the inherent complexities of training samples and the evolving status of deep models. Specifically, in EntAugment, the magnitudes are determined by the information entropy derived from the probability distribution obtained by applying the softmax function to the model's output. In addition, to further enhance the efficacy of EntAugment, we introduce a novel entropy regularization term, EntLoss, which complements the EntAugment approach. Theoretical analysis further demonstrates that EntLoss, compared to traditional cross-entropy loss, achieves closer alignment between the model distributions and underlying dataset distributions. Moreover, EntAugment and EntLoss can be utilized separately or jointly. We conduct extensive experiments across multiple image classification tasks and network architectures with thorough comparisons of existing DA methods. Importantly, the proposed methods outperform others without introducing any auxiliary models or noticeable extra computational costs, highlighting both effectiveness and efficiency. Adversarial Attacks on Video Object Segmentation with Hard Region DiscoveryPing Li, Yu Zhang, Li Yuan et al.
Video object segmentation has been applied to various computer vision tasks, such as video editing, autonomous driving, and human-robot interaction. However, the methods based on deep neural networks are vulnerable to adversarial examples, which are the inputs attacked by almost human-imperceptible perturbations, and the adversary (i.e., attacker) will fool the segmentation model to make incorrect pixel-level predictions. This will rise the security issues in highly-demanding tasks because small perturbations to the input video will result in potential attack risks. Though adversarial examples have been extensively used for classification, it is rarely studied in video object segmentation. Existing related methods in computer vision either require prior knowledge of categories or cannot be directly applied due to the special design for certain tasks, failing to consider the pixel-wise region attack. Hence, this work develops an object-agnostic adversary that has adversarial impacts on VOS by first-frame attacking via hard region discovery. Particularly, the gradients from the segmentation model are exploited to discover the easily confused region, in which it is difficult to identify the pixel-wise objects from the background in a frame. This provides a hardness map that helps to generate perturbations with a stronger adversarial power for attacking the first frame. Empirical studies on three benchmarks indicate that our attacker significantly degrades the performance of several state-of-the-art video object segmentation models.

DanZero: Mastering GuanDan Game with Reinforcement LearningYudong Lu, Jian Zhao, Youpeng Zhao et al.
Card game AI has always been a hot topic in the research of artificial intelligence. In recent years, complex card games such as Mahjong, DouDizhu and Texas Hold'em have been solved and the corresponding AI programs have reached the level of human experts. In this paper, we are devoted to developing an AI program for a more complex card game, GuanDan, whose rules are similar to DouDizhu but much more complicated. To be specific, the characteristics of large state and action space, long length of one episode and the unsure number of players in the GuanDan pose great challenges for the development of the AI program. To address these issues, we propose the first AI program DanZero for GuanDan using reinforcement learning technique. Specifically, we utilize a distributed framework to train our AI system. In the actor processes, we carefully design the state features and agents generate samples by self-play. In the learner process, the model is updated by Deep Monte-Carlo Method. After training for 30 days using 160 CPUs and 1 GPU, we get our DanZero bot. We compare it with 8 baseline AI programs which are based on heuristic rules and the results reveal the outstanding performance of DanZero. We also test DanZero with human players and demonstrate its human-level performance.

Gradient Attention Balance Network: Mitigating Face Recognition Racial Bias via Gradient AttentionLinzhi Huang, Mei Wang, Jiahao Liang et al.
Although face recognition has made impressive progress in recent years, we ignore the racial bias of the recognition system when we pursue a high level of accuracy. Previous work found that for different races, face recognition networks focus on different facial regions, and the sensitive regions of darker-skinned people are much smaller. Based on this discovery, we propose a new de-bias method based on gradient attention, called Gradient Attention Balance Network (GABN). Specifically, we use the gradient attention map (GAM) of the face recognition network to track the sensitive facial regions and make the GAMs of different races tend to be consistent through adversarial learning. This method mitigates the bias by making the network focus on similar facial regions. In addition, we also use masks to erase the Top-N sensitive facial regions, forcing the network to allocate its attention to a larger facial region. This method expands the sensitive region of darker-skinned people and further reduces the gap between GAM of darker-skinned people and GAM of Caucasians. Extensive experiments show that GABN successfully mitigates racial bias in face recognition and learns more balanced performance for people of different races.

In this work, we are dedicated to multi-target active object tracking (AOT), where there are multiple targets as well as multiple cameras in the environment. The goal is maximize the overall target coverage of all cameras. Previous work makes a strong assumption that each camera is fixed in a location and only allowed to rotate, which limits its application. In this work, we relax the setting by allowing all cameras to both move along the boundary lines and rotate. In our setting, the action space becomes much larger, which leads to much higher computational complexity to identify the optimal action. To this end, we propose to leverage the action selection from multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) network to prune the search tree of Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) method, so as to find the optimal action more efficiently. Besides, we model the motion of the targets to predict the future position of the targets, which makes a better estimation of the future environment state in the MCTS process. We establish a multi-target 2D environment to simulate the sports games, and experimental results demonstrate that our method can effectively improve the target coverage.

DySink: Dynamic Frame Sinks for Autoregressive Long Video GenerationBo Ye, Xinyu Cui, Jian Zhao et al.
Autoregressive long video generation often adopts bounded-memory streaming for efficiency, typically combining local windows for short-term continuity with static early-frame sinks as long-range anchors. However, this fixed allocation keeps early frames cached even when the current visual state has substantially diverged from them, while discarding potentially more relevant intermediate history. As a result, the retained long-range context may become less adaptive and bias generation toward outdated cues; in severe cases, RoPE-induced phase re-alignment can homogenize inter-head attention and cause sink collapse, where content regresses toward sink frames. We propose DySink, a retrieval-based framework that maintains a compact memory bank and selects visually relevant historical frames as dynamic frame sinks. DySink couples adaptive retrieval with a sink anomaly gate, which detects excessive inter-head consensus over retrieved context and suppresses collapse-prone context. Experiments on minute-long videos show that DySink consistently improves dynamic degree over strong baselines while also achieving higher temporal quality. Freshness-Aware Prioritized Experience Replay for LLM/VLM Reinforcement LearningWeiyu Ma, Yongcheng Zeng, Yan Song et al.
Reinforcement Learning (RL) has achieved impressive success in post-training Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs), with on-policy algorithms such as PPO, GRPO, and REINFORCE++ serving as the dominant paradigm. However, these methods discard all collected trajectories after a single gradient update, resulting in poor sample efficiency, particularly wasteful for agentic tasks where multi-turn environment interactions are expensive. While Experience Replay drives sample efficiency in classic RL by allowing agents to reuse past trajectories and prioritize informative ones, directly applying Prioritized Experience Replay (PER) to LLMs fails. The rapid policy evolution of billion-parameter models renders stored priorities stale, causing old high-priority trajectories to dominate sampling long after they have become uninformative. We propose Freshness-Aware PER, which addresses this priority staleness problem by augmenting any PER-based priority with a multiplicative exponential age decay grounded in effective sample size analysis. To the best of our knowledge, Freshness-Aware PER is the first work to successfully apply PER to LLM/VLM reinforcement learning. We evaluate on eight multi-step agentic, reasoning, and math competition tasks with 0.5B, 3B, and 7B models. Freshness-Aware PER significantly outperforms on-policy baselines, achieving +46% on NQ Search, +367% on Sokoban, and +133% on VLM FrozenLake, while standard PER without age decay consistently degrades performance. Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin methods for the special relativistic magnetohydrodynamicsJian Zhao, Huazhong Tang
This paper develops $P^K$-based non-central and central Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methods with WENO limiter for the one- and two-dimensional special relativistic magnetohydrodynamical (RMHD) equations, $K=1,2,3$. The non-central DG methods are locally divergence-free, while the central DG are "exactly" divergence-free but have to find two approximate solutions defined on mutually dual meshes. The adaptive WENO limiter first identifies the "troubled" cells by using a modified TVB minmod function, and then uses the WENO technique to locally reconstruct a new polynomial of degree $(2K+1)$ inside the "troubled" cells replacing the DG solution by based on the cell average values of the DG solutions in the neighboring cells as well as the original cell averages of the "troubled" cells. The WENO limiting procedure does not destroy the locally or "exactly" divergence-free property of magnetic field and is only employed for finite "troubled" cells so that the computational cost can be as little as possible. Several test problems in one and two dimensions are solved by using our non-central and central Runge-Kutta DG methods with WENO limiter. The numerical results demonstrate that our methods are stable, accurate, and robust in resolving complex wave structures.

Incantation: Natural Language as the Action Interface for Multi-Entity Video World ModelsShangwen Zhu, Qianyu Peng, Zhao Pu et al.
Modern interactive video world models have achieved impressive visual fidelity, yet lack fine-grained multi-entity control and cross-entity, cross-world generalization. We trace this gap to the action interface: standard control protocols (e.g. animation IDs, device inputs, scene-level captions) bind action semantics to specific entities or engines at design time. We propose natural language as the interface to unlock expressiveness that no prior interface can achieve, and we present Incantation, the first interactive video world model with per-latent-frame (0.25 s) natural-language conditioning that supports simultaneous multi-entity control and concept-level cross-entity transfer beyond any fixed rendering pipeline. We pair a pretrained bidirectional video backbone with frame-local text cross-attention, and enable real-time long-horizon streaming through ODE-initialized Self-Forcing distillation with a RoPE-decoupled sliding KV-cache. We surpass the Action-Index baseline on cross-entity transfer (89% vs. 43%) and out-of-vocabulary prompts (90% vs. 0%), and our 2-step student sustains 19.7 FPS at 480p with stable FVD over 2-hour rollouts. We further apply the same architecture and training recipe to The King of Fighters, changing only the per-entity action vocabulary slots. We have released a preview subset of the Incantation dataset at https://huggingface.co/datasets/zhush/incantation-elden-ring-scenes, containing manually collected Elden Ring player-boss combat clips with structured action-oriented metadata. Larger-scale Elden Ring and KOF data will be released with the full project.

Collaboration with Conversational AI Assistants for UX Evaluation: Questions and How to Ask them (Voice vs. Text)Emily Kuang, Ehsan Jahangirzadeh Soure, Mingming Fan et al.
AI is promising in assisting UX evaluators with analyzing usability tests, but its judgments are typically presented as non-interactive visualizations. Evaluators may have questions about test recordings, but have no way of asking them. Interactive conversational assistants provide a Q&A dynamic that may improve analysis efficiency and evaluator autonomy. To understand the full range of analysis-related questions, we conducted a Wizard-of-Oz design probe study with 20 participants who interacted with simulated AI assistants via text or voice. We found that participants asked for five categories of information: user actions, user mental model, help from the AI assistant, product and task information, and user demographics. Those who used the text assistant asked more questions, but the question lengths were similar. The text assistant was perceived as significantly more efficient, but both were rated equally in satisfaction and trust. We also provide design considerations for future conversational AI assistants for UX evaluation.

Thin-Plate Spline Motion Model for Image AnimationJian Zhao, Hui Zhang
Image animation brings life to the static object in the source image according to the driving video. Recent works attempt to perform motion transfer on arbitrary objects through unsupervised methods without using a priori knowledge. However, it remains a significant challenge for current unsupervised methods when there is a large pose gap between the objects in the source and driving images. In this paper, a new end-to-end unsupervised motion transfer framework is proposed to overcome such issue. Firstly, we propose thin-plate spline motion estimation to produce a more flexible optical flow, which warps the feature maps of the source image to the feature domain of the driving image. Secondly, in order to restore the missing regions more realistically, we leverage multi-resolution occlusion masks to achieve more effective feature fusion. Finally, additional auxiliary loss functions are designed to ensure that there is a clear division of labor in the network modules, encouraging the network to generate high-quality images. Our method can animate a variety of objects, including talking faces, human bodies, and pixel animations. Experiments demonstrate that our method performs better on most benchmarks than the state of the art with visible improvements in pose-related metrics.

Neural Dependencies Emerging from Learning Massive CategoriesRuili Feng, Kecheng Zheng, Kai Zhu et al.
This work presents two astonishing findings on neural networks learned for large-scale image classification. 1) Given a well-trained model, the logits predicted for some category can be directly obtained by linearly combining the predictions of a few other categories, which we call \textbf{neural dependency}. 2) Neural dependencies exist not only within a single model, but even between two independently learned models, regardless of their architectures. Towards a theoretical analysis of such phenomena, we demonstrate that identifying neural dependencies is equivalent to solving the Covariance Lasso (CovLasso) regression problem proposed in this paper. Through investigating the properties of the problem solution, we confirm that neural dependency is guaranteed by a redundant logit covariance matrix, which condition is easily met given massive categories, and that neural dependency is highly sparse, implying that one category correlates to only a few others. We further empirically show the potential of neural dependencies in understanding internal data correlations, generalizing models to unseen categories, and improving model robustness with a dependency-derived regularizer. MA-FSAR: Multimodal Adaptation of CLIP for Few-Shot Action RecognitionJiazheng Xing, Chao Xu, Mengmeng Wang et al.
Applying large-scale vision-language pre-trained models like CLIP to few-shot action recognition (FSAR) can significantly enhance both performance and efficiency. While several studies have recognized this advantage, most of them resort to full-parameter fine-tuning to make CLIP's visual encoder adapt to the FSAR data, which not only costs high computations but also overlooks the potential of the visual encoder to engage in temporal modeling and focus on targeted semantics directly. To tackle these issues, we introduce MA-FSAR, a framework that employs the Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) technique to enhance the CLIP visual encoder in terms of action-related temporal and semantic representations. Our solution involves a Fine-grained Multimodal Adaptation, which is different from the previous attempts of PEFT in regular action recognition. Specifically, we first insert a Global Temporal Adaptation that only receives the class token to capture global motion cues efficiently. Then these outputs integrate with visual tokens to enhance local temporal dynamics by a Local Multimodal Adaptation, which incorporates text features unique to the FSAR support set branch to highlight fine-grained semantics related to actions. In addition to these token-level designs, we propose a prototype-level text-guided construction module to further enrich the temporal and semantic characteristics of video prototypes. Extensive experiments demonstrate our superior performance in various tasks using minor trainable parameters.

AdvMask: A Sparse Adversarial Attack Based Data Augmentation Method for Image ClassificationSuorong Yang, Jinqiao Li, Jian Zhao et al.
Data augmentation is a widely used technique for enhancing the generalization ability of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in image classification tasks. Occlusion is a critical factor that affects on the generalization ability of image classification models. In order to generate new samples, existing data augmentation methods based on information deletion simulate occluded samples by randomly removing some areas in the images. However, those methods cannot delete areas of the images according to their structural features of the images. To solve those problems, we propose a novel data augmentation method, AdvMask, for image classification tasks. Instead of randomly removing areas in the images, AdvMask obtains the key points that have the greatest influence on the classification results via an end-to-end sparse adversarial attack module. Therefore, we can find the most sensitive points of the classification results without considering the diversity of various image appearance and shapes of the object of interest. In addition, a data augmentation module is employed to generate structured masks based on the key points, thus forcing the CNN classification models to seek other relevant content when the most discriminative content is hidden. AdvMask can effectively improve the performance of classification models in the testing process. The experimental results on various datasets and CNN models verify that the proposed method outperforms other previous data augmentation methods in image classification tasks.

RandoMix: A mixed sample data augmentation method with multiple mixed modesXiaoliang Liu, Furao Shen, Jian Zhao et al.
Data augmentation plays a crucial role in enhancing the robustness and performance of machine learning models across various domains. In this study, we introduce a novel mixed-sample data augmentation method called RandoMix. RandoMix is specifically designed to simultaneously address robustness and diversity challenges. It leverages a combination of linear and mask-mixed modes, introducing flexibility in candidate selection and weight adjustments. We evaluate the effectiveness of RandoMix on diverse datasets, including CIFAR-10/100, Tiny-ImageNet, ImageNet, and Google Speech Commands. Our results demonstrate its superior performance compared to existing techniques such as Mixup, CutMix, Fmix, and ResizeMix. Notably, RandoMix excels in enhancing model robustness against adversarial noise, natural noise, and sample occlusion. The comprehensive experimental results and insights into parameter tuning underscore the potential of RandoMix as a versatile and effective data augmentation method. Moreover, it seamlessly integrates into the training pipeline.

Challenges in Synchronous & Remote Collaboration Around VisualizationMatthew Brehmer, Maxime Cordeil, Christophe Hurter et al.
We characterize 16 challenges faced by those investigating and developing remote and synchronous collaborative experiences around visualization. Our work reflects the perspectives and prior research efforts of an international group of 29 experts from across human-computer interaction and visualization sub-communities. The challenges are anchored around five collaborative activities that exhibit a centrality of visualization and multimodal communication. These activities include exploratory data analysis, creative ideation, visualization-rich presentations, joint decision making grounded in data, and real-time data monitoring. The challenges also reflect the changing dynamics of these activities in the face of recent advances in extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI). As an organizing scheme for future research at the intersection of visualization and computer-supported cooperative work, we align the challenges with a sequence of four sets of research and development activities: technological choices, social factors, AI assistance, and evaluation.

RSTAM: An Effective Black-Box Impersonation Attack on Face Recognition using a Mobile and Compact PrinterXiaoliang Liu, Furao Shen, Jian Zhao et al.
Face recognition has achieved considerable progress in recent years thanks to the development of deep neural networks, but it has recently been discovered that deep neural networks are vulnerable to adversarial examples. This means that face recognition models or systems based on deep neural networks are also susceptible to adversarial examples. However, the existing methods of attacking face recognition models or systems with adversarial examples can effectively complete white-box attacks but not black-box impersonation attacks, physical attacks, or convenient attacks, particularly on commercial face recognition systems. In this paper, we propose a new method to attack face recognition models or systems called RSTAM, which enables an effective black-box impersonation attack using an adversarial mask printed by a mobile and compact printer. First, RSTAM enhances the transferability of the adversarial masks through our proposed random similarity transformation strategy. Furthermore, we propose a random meta-optimization strategy for ensembling several pre-trained face models to generate more general adversarial masks. Finally, we conduct experiments on the CelebA-HQ, LFW, Makeup Transfer (MT), and CASIA-FaceV5 datasets. The performance of the attacks is also evaluated on state-of-the-art commercial face recognition systems: Face++, Baidu, Aliyun, Tencent, and Microsoft. Extensive experiments show that RSTAM can effectively perform black-box impersonation attacks on face recognition models or systems.

Single-stage Multi-human Parsing via Point Sets and Center-based OffsetsJiaming Chu, Lei Jin, Junliang Xing et al.
This work studies the multi-human parsing problem. Existing methods, either following top-down or bottom-up two-stage paradigms, usually involve expensive computational costs. We instead present a high-performance Single-stage Multi-human Parsing (SMP) deep architecture that decouples the multi-human parsing problem into two fine-grained sub-problems, i.e., locating the human body and parts. SMP leverages the point features in the barycenter positions to obtain their segmentation and then generates a series of offsets from the barycenter of the human body to the barycenters of parts, thus performing human body and parts matching without the grouping process. Within the SMP architecture, we propose a Refined Feature Retain module to extract the global feature of instances through generated mask attention and a Mask of Interest Reclassify module as a trainable plug-in module to refine the classification results with the predicted segmentation. Extensive experiments on the MHPv2.0 dataset demonstrate the best effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method, surpassing the state-of-the-art method by 2.1% in AP50p, 1.0% in APvolp, and 1.2% in PCP50. In particular, the proposed method requires fewer training epochs and a less complex model architecture. We will release our source codes, pretrained models, and online demos to facilitate further studies.

SoulX-Singer: Towards High-Quality Zero-Shot Singing Voice SynthesisJiale Qian, Hao Meng, Tian Zheng et al.
While recent years have witnessed rapid progress in speech synthesis, open-source singing voice synthesis (SVS) systems still face significant barriers to industrial deployment, particularly in terms of robustness and zero-shot generalization. In this report, we introduce SoulX-Singer, a high-quality open-source SVS system designed with practical deployment considerations in mind. SoulX-Singer supports controllable singing generation conditioned on either symbolic musical scores (MIDI) or melodic representations, enabling flexible and expressive control in real-world production workflows. Trained on more than 42,000 hours of vocal data, the system supports Mandarin Chinese, English, and Cantonese and consistently achieves state-of-the-art synthesis quality across languages under diverse musical conditions. Furthermore, to enable reliable evaluation of zero-shot SVS performance in practical scenarios, we construct SoulX-Singer-Eval, a dedicated benchmark with strict training-test disentanglement, facilitating systematic assessment in zero-shot settings.

Infographics Wizard: Flexible Infographics Authoring and Design ExplorationAnjul Tyagi, Jian Zhao, Pushkar Patel et al.
Infographics are an aesthetic visual representation of information following specific design principles of human perception. Designing infographics can be a tedious process for non-experts and time-consuming, even for professional designers. With the help of designers, we propose a semi-automated infographic framework for general structured and flow-based infographic design generation. For novice designers, our framework automatically creates and ranks infographic designs for a user-provided text with no requirement for design input. However, expert designers can still provide custom design inputs to customize the infographics. We will also contribute an individual visual group (VG) designs dataset (in SVG), along with a 1k complete infographic image dataset with segmented VGs in this work. Evaluation results confirm that by using our framework, designers from all expertise levels can generate generic infographic designs faster than existing methods while maintaining the same quality as hand-designed infographics templates.

TIE: Time Interval Encoding for Video Generation over EventsZhilei Shu, Shangwen Zhu, Zihang Liang et al.
Director-style prompting, robotic action prediction, and interactive video agents demand temporal grounding over concurrent events -- a regime in which 68% of general clips and over 99% of robotics/gameplay clips contain overlapping events, yet existing multi-event generators rest on a single-active-prompt assumption. However, modern video generators, such as Diffusion Transformers (DiT), represent time as discrete points through point-wise positional encodings. This formulation creates a fundamental dimension mismatch: temporally extended intervals and overlapping events are mathematically unrepresentable to the attention mechanism. In this paper, we propose Time Interval Encoding (TIE), a principled, plug-and-play interval-aware generalization of rotary embeddings that elevates time intervals to first-class primitives inside DiT cross-attention. Rather than introducing another heuristic interval embedding, we show that, within RoPE-compatible bilinear attention, TIE is characterized by two basic principles: Temporal Integrability, which requires an event to aggregate positional evidence over its full duration, and Duration Invariance, which removes the trivial bias toward longer intervals. Under a uniform kernel, this characterization yields an efficient closed-form sinc-based solution that preserves the standard attention interface and naturally attenuates boundary noise through interval integration. Empirically, TIE preserves the visual quality of the base DiT model while substantially improving temporal controllability. In our experiments on the OmniEvents dataset, it improves human-verified Temporal Constraint Satisfaction Rate from 77.34% to 96.03% and reduces temporal boundary error from 0.261s to 0.073s, while also improving trajectory-level temporal alignment metrics. AugRmixAT: A Data Processing and Training Method for Improving Multiple Robustness and Generalization PerformanceXiaoliang Liu, Furao Shen, Jian Zhao et al.
Deep neural networks are powerful, but they also have shortcomings such as their sensitivity to adversarial examples, noise, blur, occlusion, etc. Moreover, ensuring the reliability and robustness of deep neural network models is crucial for their application in safety-critical areas. Much previous work has been proposed to improve specific robustness. However, we find that the specific robustness is often improved at the sacrifice of the additional robustness or generalization ability of the neural network model. In particular, adversarial training methods significantly hurt the generalization performance on unperturbed data when improving adversarial robustness. In this paper, we propose a new data processing and training method, called AugRmixAT, which can simultaneously improve the generalization ability and multiple robustness of neural network models. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of AugRmixAT on the CIFAR-10/100 and Tiny-ImageNet datasets. The experiments demonstrate that AugRmixAT can improve the model's generalization performance while enhancing the white-box robustness, black-box robustness, common corruption robustness, and partial occlusion robustness.

AutoAdversary: A Pixel Pruning Method for Sparse Adversarial AttackJinqiao Li, Xiaotao Liu, Jian Zhao et al.
Deep neural networks (DNNs) have been proven to be vulnerable to adversarial examples. A special branch of adversarial examples, namely sparse adversarial examples, can fool the target DNNs by perturbing only a few pixels. However, many existing sparse adversarial attacks use heuristic methods to select the pixels to be perturbed, and regard the pixel selection and the adversarial attack as two separate steps. From the perspective of neural network pruning, we propose a novel end-to-end sparse adversarial attack method, namely AutoAdversary, which can find the most important pixels automatically by integrating the pixel selection into the adversarial attack. Specifically, our method utilizes a trainable neural network to generate a binary mask for the pixel selection. After jointly optimizing the adversarial perturbation and the neural network, only the pixels corresponding to the value 1 in the mask are perturbed. Experiments demonstrate the superiority of our proposed method over several state-of-the-art methods. Furthermore, since AutoAdversary does not require a heuristic pixel selection process, it does not slow down excessively as other methods when the image size increases.

RoPDA: Robust Prompt-based Data Augmentation for Low-Resource Named Entity RecognitionSihan Song, Furao Shen, Jian Zhao
Data augmentation has been widely used in low-resource NER tasks to tackle the problem of data sparsity. However, previous data augmentation methods have the disadvantages of disrupted syntactic structures, token-label mismatch, and requirement for external knowledge or manual effort. To address these issues, we propose Robust Prompt-based Data Augmentation (RoPDA) for low-resource NER. Based on pre-trained language models (PLMs) with continuous prompt, RoPDA performs entity augmentation and context augmentation through five fundamental augmentation operations to generate label-flipping and label-preserving examples. To optimize the utilization of the augmented samples, we present two techniques: Self-Consistency Filtering and mixup. The former effectively eliminates low-quality samples, while the latter prevents performance degradation arising from the direct utilization of label-flipping samples. Extensive experiments on three benchmarks from different domains demonstrate that RoPDA significantly improves upon strong baselines, and also outperforms state-of-the-art semi-supervised learning methods when unlabeled data is included.

X-Voice: Enabling Everyone to Speak 30 Languages via Zero-Shot Cross-Lingual Voice CloningRixi Xu, Qingyu Liu, Haitao Li et al.
In this paper, we present X-Voice, a 0.4B multilingual zero-shot voice cloning model that clones arbitrary voices and enables everyone to speak 30 languages. X-Voice is trained on a 420K-hour multilingual corpus using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as a unified representation. To eliminate the reliance on prompt text without complex preprocessing like forced alignment, we design a two-stage training paradigm. In Stage 1, we establish X-Voice$_{\text{s1}}$ through standard conditional flow-matching training and use it to synthesize 10K hours of speaker-consistent segments as audio prompts. In Stage 2, we fine-tune on these audio pairs with prompt text masked to derive X-Voice$_{\text{s2}}$, which enables zero-shot voice cloning without requiring transcripts of audio prompts. Architecturally, we extend F5-TTS by implementing a dual-level injection of language identifiers and decoupling and scheduling of Classifier-Free Guidance to facilitate multilingual speech synthesis. Subjective and objective evaluation results demonstrate that X-Voice outperforms existing flow-matching based multilingual systems like LEMAS-TTS and achieves zero-shot cross-lingual cloning capabilities comparable to billion-scale models such as Qwen3-TTS. To facilitate research transparency and community advancement, we open-source all related resources.

CompassNav: Steering From Path Imitation To Decision Understanding In NavigationLinFeng Li, Jian Zhao, Yuan Xie et al.
The dominant paradigm for training Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) in navigation relies on imitating expert trajectories. This approach reduces the complex navigation task to a sequence-to-sequence replication of a single correct path, fundamentally limiting the agent's ability to explore and generalize. In this work, we argue for and introduce a new paradigm: a shift from Path Imitation to Decision Understanding. The goal of this paradigm is to build agents that do not just follow, but truly understand how to navigate. We materialize this through two core contributions: first, we introduce Compass-Data-22k, a novel 22k-trajectory dataset. Its Reinforcement Fine-Tuning (RFT) subset provides a panoramic view of the decision landscape by annotating all feasible actions with A* geodesic distances. Second, we design a novel gap-aware hybrid reward function that dynamically adapts its feedback to decision certainty, shifting between decisive signals for optimal actions and nuanced scores to encourage exploration. Integrated into an SFT-then-RFT recipe, our CompassNav agent is trained not to memorize static routes, but to develop an internal compass that constantly intuits the direction to the goal by evaluating the relative quality of all possible moves. This approach enables our 7B agent to set a new state-of-the-art on Goal navigation benchmarks, outperforming even larger proprietary models, and achieve robust real-world goal navigation on a physical robot.

Learning How to Remember: A Meta-Cognitive Management Method for Structured and Transferable Agent MemorySirui Liang, Pengfei Cao, Jian Zhao et al.
Large language model (LLM) agents increasingly rely on accumulated memory to solve long-horizon decision-making tasks. However, most existing approaches store memory in fixed representations and reuse it at a single or implicit level of abstraction, which limits generalization and often leads to negative transfer when distribution shift. This paper proposes the Meta-Cognitive Memory Abstraction method (MCMA), which treats memory abstraction as a learnable cognitive skill rather than a fixed design choice. MCMA decouples task execution from memory management by combining a frozen task model with a learned memory copilot. The memory copilot is trained using direct preference optimization, it determines how memories should be structured, abstracted, and reused. Memories are further organized into a hierarchy of abstraction levels, enabling selective reuse based on task similarity. When no memory is transferable, MCMA transfers the ability to abstract and manage memory by transferring the memory copilot. Experiments on ALFWorld, ScienceWorld, and BabyAI demonstrate substantial improvements in performance, out-of-distribution generalization, and cross-task transfer over several baselines.

UniParser: Multi-Human Parsing with Unified Correlation Representation LearningJiaming Chu, Lei Jin, Junliang Xing et al.
Multi-human parsing is an image segmentation task necessitating both instance-level and fine-grained category-level information. However, prior research has typically processed these two types of information through separate branches and distinct output formats, leading to inefficient and redundant frameworks. This paper introduces UniParser, which integrates instance-level and category-level representations in three key aspects: 1) we propose a unified correlation representation learning approach, allowing our network to learn instance and category features within the cosine space; 2) we unify the form of outputs of each modules as pixel-level segmentation results while supervising instance and category features using a homogeneous label accompanied by an auxiliary loss; and 3) we design a joint optimization procedure to fuse instance and category representations. By virtual of unifying instance-level and category-level output, UniParser circumvents manually designed post-processing techniques and surpasses state-of-the-art methods, achieving 49.3% AP on MHPv2.0 and 60.4% AP on CIHP. We will release our source code, pretrained models, and online demos to facilitate future studies.

SCOPE: Simulating Cross-game Operations in Playable Environments for FPS World ModelsZizhao Tong, Hongfeng Lai, Zeqing Wang et al.
Interactive world models for first-person shooter (FPS) games must resolve high-frequency overlapping control signals at every frame without disrupting unaffected regions. Existing methods inject actions globally and train on single titles, failing under dense FPS inputs. We observe that FPS actions are spatially selective: discrete events such as firing or reloading affect only a localized region around the weapon (the scope), while continuous camera and movement signals govern stable surroundings. We propose SCOPE, which inserts a conditioning module into each transformer block of a pretrained video diffusion model. It reshapes features into per-pixel temporal sequences so that each position computes its action response from local visual content. This separates in-scope effects from out-of-scope generation without segmentation labels. We also introduce CrossFPS, the first multi-game FPS dataset with frame-aligned action telemetry. It comprises 69K clips from 7 titles with 10-DoF controller signals, curated to remove gameplay bias. The model learns general visual-to-action mappings rather than game-specific patterns, enabling zero-shot transfer to unseen scenes. Experiments confirm strong action responsiveness, precise scope separation, and effective cross-game generalization.

Uncovering the Unseen: Discover Hidden Intentions by Micro-Behavior Graph ReasoningZhuo Zhou, Wenxuan Liu, Danni Xu et al.
This paper introduces a new and challenging Hidden Intention Discovery (HID) task. Unlike existing intention recognition tasks, which are based on obvious visual representations to identify common intentions for normal behavior, HID focuses on discovering hidden intentions when humans try to hide their intentions for abnormal behavior. HID presents a unique challenge in that hidden intentions lack the obvious visual representations to distinguish them from normal intentions. Fortunately, from a sociological and psychological perspective, we find that the difference between hidden and normal intentions can be reasoned from multiple micro-behaviors, such as gaze, attention, and facial expressions. Therefore, we first discover the relationship between micro-behavior and hidden intentions and use graph structure to reason about hidden intentions. To facilitate research in the field of HID, we also constructed a seminal dataset containing a hidden intention annotation of a typical theft scenario for HID. Extensive experiments show that the proposed network improves performance on the HID task by 9.9\% over the state-of-the-art method SBP.

YASA: Scalable Multi-Language Taint Analysis on the Unified AST at Ant GroupYayi Wang, Shenao Wang, Jian Zhao et al.
Modern enterprises increasingly adopt diverse technology stacks with various programming languages, posing significant challenges for static application security testing (SAST). Existing taint analysis tools are predominantly designed for single languages, requiring substantial engineering effort that scales with language diversity. While multi-language tools like CodeQL, Joern, and WALA attempt to address these challenges, they face limitations in intermediate representation design, analysis precision, and extensibility, which make them difficult to scale effectively for large-scale industrial applications at Ant Group. To bridge this gap, we present YASA (Yet Another Static Analyzer), a unified multi-language static taint analysis framework designed for industrial-scale deployment. Specifically, YASA introduces the Unified Abstract Syntax Tree (UAST) that provides a unified abstraction for compatibility across diverse programming languages. Building on the UAST, YASA performs point-to analysis and taint propagation, leveraging a unified semantic model to manage language-agnostic constructs, while incorporating language-specific semantic models to handle other unique language features. When compared to 6 single- and 2 multi-language static analyzers on an industry-standard benchmark, YASA consistently outperformed all baselines across Java, JavaScript, Python, and Go. In real-world deployment within Ant Group, YASA analyzed over 100 million lines of code across 7.3K internal applications. It identified 314 previously unknown taint paths, with 92 of them confirmed as 0-day vulnerabilities. All vulnerabilities were responsibly reported, with 76 already patched by internal development teams, demonstrating YASA's practical effectiveness for securing large-scale industrial software systems.

GenPRM: Scaling Test-Time Compute of Process Reward Models via Generative ReasoningJian Zhao, Runze Liu, Kaiyan Zhang et al.
Recent advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown that it is promising to utilize Process Reward Models (PRMs) as verifiers to enhance the performance of LLMs. However, current PRMs face three key challenges: (1) limited process supervision and generalization capabilities, (2) dependence on scalar value prediction without leveraging the generative abilities of LLMs, and (3) inability to scale the test-time compute of PRMs. In this work, we introduce GenPRM, a generative process reward model that performs explicit Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning with code verification before providing judgment for each reasoning step. To obtain high-quality process supervision labels and rationale data, we propose Relative Progress Estimation (RPE) and a rationale synthesis framework that incorporates code verification. Experimental results on ProcessBench and several mathematical reasoning tasks show that GenPRM significantly outperforms prior PRMs with only 23K training data from MATH dataset. Through test-time scaling, a 1.5B GenPRM outperforms GPT-4o, and a 7B GenPRM surpasses Qwen2.5-Math-PRM-72B on ProcessBench. Additionally, GenPRM demonstrates strong abilities to serve as a critic model for policy model refinement. This work establishes a new paradigm for process supervision that bridges the gap between PRMs and critic models in LLMs. Our code, model, and data will be available in https://ryanliu112.github.io/GenPRM.

When Constraints Limit and Inspire: Characterizing Presentation Authoring Practices for Evolving NarrativesLinxiu Zeng, Emily Kuang, Jian Zhao
Authoring presentation slides involves navigating contextual constraints that shape how content is structured, adapted, and reused. While prior work frames constraints as limitations, little is known about how presenters actively reason about them. We conducted a formative study with ten presenters to examine how constraints emerge, are interpreted, and influence authoring decisions, leading to the Constraint-based Multi-session Presentation Authoring (CMPA) framework. CMPA treats time, audience, and communicative intent as key constraints shaping authoring. We instantiated CMPA in ReSlide, a research prototype for constraint-aware slide creation and reuse, and conducted two user studies on (1) single-session behaviors and (2) multi-session workflows. Compared to a baseline tool, ReSlide helped presenters treat constraints as active design drivers that guide narrative construction. The second study further shows how presenters flexibly reuse and adapt content across authoring cycles as constraints evolve. We then propose design implications for future constraint-aware presentation tools.

Attribute-Specific Manipulation Based on Layer-Wise ChannelsYuanjie Yan, Jian Zhao, Furao Shen
Image manipulation on the latent space of the pre-trained StyleGAN can control the semantic attributes of the generated images. Recently, some studies have focused on detecting channels with specific properties to directly manipulate the latent code, which is limited by the entanglement of the latent space. To detect the attribute-specific channels, we propose a novel detection method in the context of pre-trained classifiers. We analyse the gradients layer by layer on the style space. The intensities of the gradients indicate the channel's responses to specific attributes. The latent style codes of channels control separate attributes in the layers. We choose channels with top-$k$ gradients to control specific attributes in the maximum response layer. We implement single-channel and multi-channel manipulations with a certain attribute. Our methods can accurately detect relevant channels for a large number of face attributes. Extensive qualitative and quantitative results demonstrate that the proposed methods outperform state-of-the-art methods in generalization and scalability.
