WebRISE: Requirement-Induced State Evaluation for MLLM-Generated Web Artifacts

Existing benchmarks for MLLM-generated web artifacts assess interaction through local evidence and miss the requirement-induced states and transitions that determine whether a page works. We introduce WebRISE, which compiles task requirements into Interaction Contract Graphs (ICGs) of observable states, user-intent transitions, and DOM/visual assertions for implementation-agnostic browser execution. WebRISE spans 442 tasks across five input modalities (Text, Markdown, Sketch, Image, Video), with 5,495 transitions and 5,271 requirement checks that separate user-stated functions from implicit product-level constraints. Across 14 MLLMs, even the strongest model reaches only 65.6% transition validity and 66.3% requirement coverage, and visual quality is no proxy for behavior (Qwen3.6-35B-A3B on Markdown: V=80.8 yet T=15.5). Video gives the strongest interaction signal (+10.6 pp implicit coverage over Text), while implicit constraints persist; defect injection shows ICG-based scoring detects state errors at 2-16x the rate of checkpoint-style evaluation.

WorldCoder-Bench: Benchmarking Physically Grounded 3D World Synthesis

Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly asked not only to write static interfaces, but to construct executable interactive worlds from natural language. Browser-native 3D, commonly built with Three.js, is a natural next frontier: generated programs must integrate assets, obey spatial and physical constraints, and keep user-facing controls synchronized with hidden runtime state. Existing web-generation benchmarks and evaluators, however, largely observe only pixels or DOM nodes, while the mechanics of a Three.js world unfold inside an opaque <canvas>. We introduce WorldCoder-Bench, a benchmark for autonomous, physically grounded 3D world synthesis. WorldCoder-Bench contains 2,026 expert-curated tasks across Simulation, Rendering, and Application scenarios, with optional .glb assets and hidden behavioral contracts. We further propose StateProbe, an execution-based protocol that probes generated programs in a sandboxed browser and verifies hidden, mutation-hardened contracts over runtime states and transitions. Beyond verification coverage, we report Return on Automation and Time Efficiency Multiplier to measure correctness-adjusted cost and time savings. Across nine frontier models, the best system reaches only 27.8% verification coverage on WorldCoder-Core and 19.9% on WorldCoder-Robust, with failures dominated by state-schema drift and broken interaction chains rather than missing scene elements. Utility metrics further show that cheap or fast models can still provide substantial value on easier domains. WorldCoder-Bench is available at https://anonymous.4open.science/r/WorldCoder-Bench/.

Learning Domain Invariant Prompt for Vision-Language Models

Prompt learning is one of the most effective and trending ways to adapt powerful vision-language foundation models like CLIP to downstream datasets by tuning learnable prompt vectors with very few samples. However, although prompt learning achieves excellent performance over in-domain data, it still faces the major challenge of generalizing to unseen classes and domains. Some existing prompt learning methods tackle this issue by adaptively generating different prompts for different tokens or domains but neglecting the ability of learned prompts to generalize to unseen domains. In this paper, we propose a novel prompt learning paradigm that directly generates \emph{domain invariant} prompt that can be generalized to unseen domains, called MetaPrompt. Specifically, a dual-modality prompt tuning network is proposed to generate prompts for input from both image and text modalities. With a novel asymmetric contrastive loss, the representation from the original pre-trained vision-language model acts as supervision to enhance the generalization ability of the learned prompt. More importantly, we propose a meta-learning-based prompt tuning algorithm that explicitly constrains the task-specific prompt tuned for one domain or class to also achieve good performance in another domain or class. Extensive experiments on 11 datasets for base-to-new generalization and 4 datasets for domain generalization demonstrate that our method consistently and significantly outperforms existing methods.

Enhancing the Medical Context-Awareness Ability of LLMs via Multifaceted Self-Refinement Learning

Large language models (LLMs) have shown great promise in the medical domain, achieving strong performance on several benchmarks. However, they continue to underperform in real-world medical scenarios, which often demand stronger context-awareness, i.e., the ability to recognize missing or critical details (e.g., user identity, medical history, risk factors) and provide safe, helpful, and contextually appropriate responses. To address this issue, we propose Multifaceted Self-Refinement (MuSeR), a data-driven approach that enhances LLMs' context-awareness along three key facets (decision-making, communication, and safety) through self-evaluation and refinement. Specifically, we first design a attribute-conditioned query generator that simulates diverse real-world user contexts by varying attributes such as role, geographic region, intent, and degree of information ambiguity. An LLM then responds to these queries, self-evaluates its answers along three key facets, and refines its responses to better align with the requirements of each facet. Finally, the queries and refined responses are used for supervised fine-tuning to reinforce the model's context-awareness ability. Evaluation results on the latest HealthBench dataset demonstrate that our method significantly improves LLM performance across multiple aspects, with particularly notable gains in the context-awareness axis. Furthermore, by incorporating knowledge distillation with the proposed method, the performance of a smaller backbone LLM (e.g., Qwen3-32B) surpasses its teacher model, achieving a new SOTA across all open-source LLMs on HealthBench (63.8%) and its hard subset (43.1%). Uni$^2$Det: Unified and Universal Framework for Prompt-Guided Multi-dataset 3D Detection

We present Uni$^2$Det, a brand new framework for unified and universal multi-dataset training on 3D detection, enabling robust performance across diverse domains and generalization to unseen domains. Due to substantial disparities in data distribution and variations in taxonomy across diverse domains, training such a detector by simply merging datasets poses a significant challenge. Motivated by this observation, we introduce multi-stage prompting modules for multi-dataset 3D detection, which leverages prompts based on the characteristics of corresponding datasets to mitigate existing differences. This elegant design facilitates seamless plug-and-play integration within various advanced 3D detection frameworks in a unified manner, while also allowing straightforward adaptation for universal applicability across datasets. Experiments are conducted across multiple dataset consolidation scenarios involving KITTI, Waymo, and nuScenes, demonstrating that our Uni$^2$Det outperforms existing methods by a large margin in multi-dataset training. Notably, results on zero-shot cross-dataset transfer validate the generalization capability of our proposed method.

Learning Hierarchical Prompt with Structured Linguistic Knowledge for Vision-Language Models

Prompt learning has become a prevalent strategy for adapting vision-language foundation models to downstream tasks. As large language models (LLMs) have emerged, recent studies have explored the use of category-related descriptions as input to enhance prompt effectiveness. Nevertheless, conventional descriptions fall short of structured information that effectively represents the interconnections among entities or attributes linked to a particular category. To address this limitation and prioritize harnessing structured knowledge, this paper advocates for leveraging LLMs to build a graph for each description to model the entities and attributes describing the category, as well as their correlations. Preexisting prompt tuning methods exhibit inadequacies in managing this structured knowledge. Consequently, we propose a novel approach called Hierarchical Prompt Tuning (HPT), which enables simultaneous modeling of both structured and conventional linguistic knowledge. Specifically, we introduce a relationship-guided attention module to capture pair-wise associations among entities and attributes for low-level prompt learning. In addition, by incorporating high-level and global-level prompts modeling overall semantics, the proposed hierarchical structure forges cross-level interlinks and empowers the model to handle more complex and long-term relationships. Exploring Shape Embedding for Cloth-Changing Person Re-Identification via 2D-3D Correspondences

Cloth-Changing Person Re-Identification (CC-ReID) is a common and realistic problem since fashion constantly changes over time and people's aesthetic preferences are not set in stone. While most existing cloth-changing ReID methods focus on learning cloth-agnostic identity representations from coarse semantic cues (e.g. silhouettes and part segmentation maps), they neglect the continuous shape distributions at the pixel level. In this paper, we propose Continuous Surface Correspondence Learning (CSCL), a new shape embedding paradigm for cloth-changing ReID. CSCL establishes continuous correspondences between a 2D image plane and a canonical 3D body surface via pixel-to-vertex classification, which naturally aligns a person image to the surface of a 3D human model and simultaneously obtains pixel-wise surface embeddings. We further extract fine-grained shape features from the learned surface embeddings and then integrate them with global RGB features via a carefully designed cross-modality fusion module. The shape embedding paradigm based on 2D-3D correspondences remarkably enhances the model's global understanding of human body shape. To promote the study of ReID under clothing change, we construct 3D Dense Persons (DP3D), which is the first large-scale cloth-changing ReID dataset that provides densely annotated 2D-3D correspondences and a precise 3D mesh for each person image, while containing diverse cloth-changing cases over all four seasons. Experiments on both cloth-changing and cloth-consistent ReID benchmarks validate the effectiveness of our method.

ActPrompt: In-Domain Feature Adaptation via Action Cues for Video Temporal Grounding

Video temporal grounding is an emerging topic aiming to identify specific clips within videos. In addition to pre-trained video models, contemporary methods utilize pre-trained vision-language models (VLM) to capture detailed characteristics of diverse scenes and objects from video frames. However, as pre-trained on images, VLM may struggle to distinguish action-sensitive patterns from static objects, making it necessary to adapt them to specific data domains for effective feature representation over temporal grounding. We address two primary challenges to achieve this goal. Specifically, to mitigate high adaptation costs, we propose an efficient preliminary in-domain fine-tuning paradigm for feature adaptation, where downstream-adaptive features are learned through several pretext tasks. Furthermore, to integrate action-sensitive information into VLM, we introduce Action-Cue-Injected Temporal Prompt Learning (ActPrompt), which injects action cues into the image encoder of VLM for better discovering action-sensitive patterns. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ActPrompt is an off-the-shelf training framework that can be effectively applied to various SOTA methods, resulting in notable improvements. HPT++: Hierarchically Prompting Vision-Language Models with Multi-Granularity Knowledge Generation and Improved Structure Modeling

With the emergence of large language models (LLMs), recent studies have explored the potential of using category-related descriptions to enhance prompt effectiveness. However, conventional descriptions lack explicit structured information necessary to represent the interconnections among key elements like entities or attributes with relation to a particular category. Since existing prompt tuning methods give little consideration to managing structured knowledge, this paper advocates leveraging LLMs to construct a graph for each description to prioritize such structured knowledge. Consequently, we propose a novel approach called Hierarchical Prompt Tuning (HPT), enabling simultaneous modeling of both structured and conventional linguistic knowledge. Specifically, we introduce a relationship-guided attention module to capture pair-wise associations among entities and attributes for low-level prompt learning. In addition, by incorporating high-level and global-level prompts modeling overall semantics, the proposed hierarchical structure forges cross-level interlinks and empowers the model to handle more complex and long-term relationships. Finally, by enhancing multi-granularity knowledge generation, redesigning the relationship-driven attention re-weighting module, and incorporating consistent constraints on the hierarchical text encoder, we propose HPT++, which further improves the performance of HPT. Our experiments are conducted across a wide range of evaluation settings, including base-to-new generalization, cross-dataset evaluation, and domain generalization. Extensive results and ablation studies demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods, which consistently outperform existing SOTA methods.

Molecular Identifier Visual Prompt and Verifiable Reinforcement Learning for Chemical Reaction Diagram Parsing

Reaction diagram parsing (RxnDP) is critical for extracting chemical synthesis information from literature. Although recent Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have emerged as a promising paradigm to automate this complex visual reasoning task, their application is fundamentally bottlenecked by the inability to align visual chemical entities with pre-trained knowledge, alongside the inherent discrepancy between token-level training and reaction-level evaluation. To address these dual challenges, this work enhances VLM-based RxnDP from two complementary perspectives: prompting representation and learning paradigms. First, we propose Identifier as Visual Prompting (IdtVP), which leverages naturally occurring molecule identifiers (e.g., bold numerals like 1a) to activate the chemical knowledge acquired during VLM pre-training. IdtVP enables powerful zero-shot and out-of-distribution capabilities, outperforming existing prompting strategies. Second, to further optimize performance within fine-tuning paradigms, we introduce Re3-DAPO, a reinforcement learning algorithm that leverages verifiable rewards to directly optimize reaction-level metrics, thereby achieving consistent gains over standard supervised fine-tuning. Additionally, we release the ScannedRxn benchmark, comprising scanned historical reaction diagrams with real-world artifacts, to rigorously assess model robustness and out-of-distribution ability. Our contributions advance the accuracy and generalization of VLM-based reaction diagram parsing. We will release data, models, and code on GitHub.

World2Mind: Cognition Toolkit for Allocentric Spatial Reasoning in Foundation Models

Achieving robust spatial reasoning remains a fundamental challenge for current Multimodal Foundation Models (MFMs). Existing methods either overfit statistical shortcuts via 3D grounding data or remain confined to 2D visual perception, limiting both spatial reasoning accuracy and generalization in unseen scenarios. Inspired by the spatial cognitive mapping mechanisms of biological intelligence, we propose World2Mind, a training-free spatial intelligence toolkit. At its core, World2Mind leverages 3D reconstruction and instance segmentation models to construct structured spatial cognitive maps, empowering MFMs to proactively acquire targeted spatial knowledge regarding interested landmarks and routes of interest. To provide robust geometric-topological priors, World2Mind synthesizes an Allocentric-Spatial Tree (AST) that uses elliptical parameters to model the top-down layout of landmarks accurately. To mitigate the inherent inaccuracies of 3D reconstruction, we introduce a three-stage reasoning chain comprising tool invocation assessment, modality-decoupled cue collection, and geometry-semantics interwoven reasoning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that World2Mind boosts the performance of frontier models, such as GPT-5.2, by 5%~18%. Astonishingly, relying solely on the AST-structured text, purely text-only foundation models can perform complex 3D spatial reasoning, achieving performance approaching that of advanced multimodal models.

Does Unification Come at a Cost? Uni-SafeBench: A Safety Benchmark for Unified Multimodal Large Models

Unified Multimodal Large Models (UMLMs) integrate understanding and generation capabilities within a single architecture. While this architectural unification, driven by the deep fusion of multimodal features, enhances model performance, it also introduces important yet underexplored safety challenges. Existing safety benchmarks predominantly focus on isolated understanding or generation tasks, failing to evaluate the holistic safety of UMLMs when handling diverse tasks under a unified framework. To address this, we introduce Uni-SafeBench, a comprehensive benchmark featuring a taxonomy of six major safety categories across seven task types. To ensure rigorous assessment, we develop Uni-Judger, a framework that effectively decouples contextual safety from intrinsic safety. Based on comprehensive evaluations across Uni-SafeBench, we uncover that while the unification process enhances model capabilities, it significantly degrades the inherent safety of the underlying LLM. Furthermore, open-source UMLMs exhibit much lower safety performance than multimodal large models specialized for either generation or understanding tasks. We open-source all resources to systematically expose these risks and foster safer AGI development.

RxnCaption: Reformulating Reaction Diagram Parsing as Visual Prompt Guided Captioning

Large-scale chemical reaction datasets are crucial for AI research in chemistry. However, existing chemical reaction data often exist as images within papers, making them not machine-readable and unusable for training machine learning models. In response to this challenge, we propose the RxnCaption framework for the task of chemical Reaction Diagram Parsing (RxnDP). Our framework reformulates the traditional coordinate prediction driven parsing process into an image captioning problem, which Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) handle naturally. We introduce a strategy termed "BBox and Index as Visual Prompt" (BIVP), which uses our state-of-the-art molecular detector, MolYOLO, to pre-draw molecular bounding boxes and indices directly onto the input image. This turns the downstream parsing into a natural-language description problem. Extensive experiments show that the BIVP strategy significantly improves structural extraction quality while simplifying model design. We further construct the RxnCaption-11k dataset, an order of magnitude larger than prior real-world literature benchmarks, with a balanced test subset across four layout archetypes. Experiments demonstrate that RxnCaption-VL achieves state-of-the-art performance on multiple metrics. We believe our method, dataset, and models will advance structured information extraction from chemical literature and catalyze broader AI applications in chemistry. Hierarchical Identity Learning for Unsupervised Visible-Infrared Person Re-Identification

Unsupervised visible-infrared person re-identification (USVI-ReID) aims to learn modality-invariant image features from unlabeled cross-modal person datasets by reducing the modality gap while minimizing reliance on costly manual annotations. Existing methods typically address USVI-ReID using cluster-based contrastive learning, which represents a person by a single cluster center. However, they primarily focus on the commonality of images within each cluster while neglecting the finer-grained differences among them. To address the limitation, we propose a Hierarchical Identity Learning (HIL) framework. Since each cluster may contain several smaller sub-clusters that reflect fine-grained variations among images, we generate multiple memories for each existing coarse-grained cluster via a secondary clustering. Additionally, we propose Multi-Center Contrastive Learning (MCCL) to refine representations for enhancing intra-modal clustering and minimizing cross-modal discrepancies. To further improve cross-modal matching quality, we design a Bidirectional Reverse Selection Transmission (BRST) mechanism, which establishes reliable cross-modal correspondences by performing bidirectional matching of pseudo-labels. Extensive experiments conducted on the SYSU-MM01 and RegDB datasets demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing approaches. REMOTE: A Unified Multimodal Relation Extraction Framework with Multilevel Optimal Transport and Mixture-of-Experts

Multimodal relation extraction (MRE) is a crucial task in the fields of Knowledge Graph and Multimedia, playing a pivotal role in multimodal knowledge graph construction. However, existing methods are typically limited to extracting a single type of relational triplet, which restricts their ability to extract triplets beyond the specified types. Directly combining these methods fails to capture dynamic cross-modal interactions and introduces significant computational redundancy. Therefore, we propose a novel \textit{unified multimodal Relation Extraction framework with Multilevel Optimal Transport and mixture-of-Experts}, termed REMOTE, which can simultaneously extract intra-modal and inter-modal relations between textual entities and visual objects. To dynamically select optimal interaction features for different types of relational triplets, we introduce mixture-of-experts mechanism, ensuring the most relevant modality information is utilized. Additionally, considering that the inherent property of multilayer sequential encoding in existing encoders often leads to the loss of low-level information, we adopt a multilevel optimal transport fusion module to preserve low-level features while maintaining multilayer encoding, yielding more expressive representations. Correspondingly, we also create a Unified Multimodal Relation Extraction (UMRE) dataset to evaluate the effectiveness of our framework, encompassing diverse cases where the head and tail entities can originate from either text or image. Extensive experiments show that REMOTE effectively extracts various types of relational triplets and achieves state-of-the-art performanc on almost all metrics across two other public MRE datasets. Few-Shot Event Detection with Prototypical Amortized Conditional Random Field

Event detection tends to struggle when it needs to recognize novel event types with a few samples. The previous work attempts to solve this problem in the identify-then-classify manner but ignores the trigger discrepancy between event types, thus suffering from the error propagation. In this paper, we present a novel unified model which converts the task to a few-shot tagging problem with a double-part tagging scheme. To this end, we first propose the Prototypical Amortized Conditional Random Field (PA-CRF) to model the label dependency in the few-shot scenario, which approximates the transition scores between labels based on the label prototypes. Then Gaussian distribution is introduced for modeling of the transition scores to alleviate the uncertain estimation resulting from insufficient data. Experimental results show that the unified models work better than existing identify-then-classify models and our PA-CRF further achieves the best results on the benchmark dataset FewEvent. LearningFlow: Automated Policy Learning Workflow for Urban Driving with Large Language Models

Recent advancements in reinforcement learning (RL) demonstrate the significant potential in autonomous driving. Despite this promise, challenges such as the manual design of reward functions and low sample efficiency in complex environments continue to impede the development of safe and effective driving policies. To tackle these issues, we introduce LearningFlow, an innovative automated policy learning workflow tailored to urban driving. This framework leverages the collaboration of multiple large language model (LLM) agents throughout the RL training process. LearningFlow includes a curriculum sequence generation process and a reward generation process, which work in tandem to guide the RL policy by generating tailored training curricula and reward functions. Particularly, each process is supported by an analysis agent that evaluates training progress and provides critical insights to the generation agent. Through the collaborative efforts of these LLM agents, LearningFlow automates policy learning across a series of complex driving tasks, and it significantly reduces the reliance on manual reward function design while enhancing sample efficiency. Comprehensive experiments are conducted in the high-fidelity CARLA simulator, along with comparisons with other existing methods, to demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed approach. The results demonstrate that LearningFlow excels in generating rewards and curricula. It also achieves superior performance and robust generalization across various driving tasks, as well as commendable adaptation to different RL algorithms.

Exploring Interpretability for Visual Prompt Tuning with Hierarchical Concepts

Visual prompt tuning offers significant advantages for adapting pre-trained visual foundation models to specific tasks. However, current research provides limited insight into the interpretability of this approach, which is essential for enhancing AI reliability and enabling AI-driven knowledge discovery. In this paper, rather than learning abstract prompt embeddings, we propose the first framework, named Interpretable Visual Prompt Tuning (IVPT), to explore interpretability for visual prompts, by introducing hierarchical concept prototypes. Specifically, visual prompts are linked to human-understandable semantic concepts, represented as a set of category-agnostic prototypes, each corresponding to a specific region of the image. Then, IVPT aggregates features from these regions to generate interpretable prompts, which are structured hierarchically to explain visual prompts at different granularities. Comprehensive qualitative and quantitative evaluations on fine-grained classification benchmarks show its superior interpretability and performance over conventional visual prompt tuning methods and existing interpretable methods.

NMRTrans: Structure Elucidation from Experimental NMR Spectra via Set Transformers

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is fundamental for molecular structure elucidation, yet interpreting spectra at scale remains time-consuming and highly expertise-dependent. While recent spectrum-as-language modeling and retrieval-based methods have shown promise, they rely heavily on large corpora of computed spectra and exhibit notable performance drops when applied to experimental measurements. To address these issues, we build NMRSpec, a large-scale corpus of experimental $^1$H and $^{13}$C spectra mined from chemical literature, and propose NMRTrans, which models spectra as unordered peak sets and aligns the model's inductive bias with the physical nature of NMR. To our best knowledge, NMRTrans is the first NMR Transformer trained solely on large-scale experimental spectra and achieves state-of-the-art performance on experimental benchmarks, improving Top-10 Accuracy over the strongest baseline by +17.82 points (61.15% vs. 43.33%), and underscoring the importance of experimental data and structure-aware architectures for reliable NMR structure elucidation.

MMSD3.0: A Multi-Image Benchmark for Real-World Multimodal Sarcasm Detection

Despite progress in multimodal sarcasm detection, existing datasets and methods predominantly focus on single-image scenarios, overlooking potential semantic and affective relations across multiple images. This leaves a gap in modeling cases where sarcasm is triggered by multi-image cues in real-world settings. To bridge this gap, we introduce MMSD3.0, a new benchmark composed entirely of multi-image samples curated from tweets and Amazon reviews. We further propose the Cross-Image Reasoning Model (CIRM), which performs targeted cross-image sequence modeling to capture latent inter-image connections. In addition, we introduce a relevance-guided, fine-grained cross-modal fusion mechanism based on text-image correspondence to reduce information loss during integration. We establish a comprehensive suite of strong and representative baselines and conduct extensive experiments, showing that MMSD3.0 is an effective and reliable benchmark that better reflects real-world conditions. Moreover, CIRM demonstrates state-of-the-art performance across MMSD, MMSD2.0 and MMSD3.0, validating its effectiveness in both single-image and multi-image scenarios.

The Application of ChatGPT in Responding to Questions Related to the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale

Background: Colonoscopy, a crucial diagnostic tool in gastroenterology, depends heavily on superior bowel preparation. ChatGPT, a large language model with emergent intelligence which also exhibits potential in medical applications. This study aims to assess the accuracy and consistency of ChatGPT in using the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS) for colonoscopy assessment. Methods: We retrospectively collected 233 colonoscopy images from 2020 to 2023. These images were evaluated using the BBPS by 3 senior endoscopists and 3 novice endoscopists. Additionally, ChatGPT also assessed these images, having been divided into three groups and undergone specific Fine-tuning. Consistency was evaluated through two rounds of testing. Results: In the initial round, ChatGPT's accuracy varied between 48.93% and 62.66%, trailing the endoscopists' accuracy of 76.68% to 77.83%. Kappa values for ChatGPT was between 0.52 and 0.53, compared to 0.75 to 0.87 for the endoscopists. Conclusion: While ChatGPT shows promise in bowel preparation scoring, it currently does not match the accuracy and consistency of experienced endoscopists. Future research should focus on in-depth Fine-tuning.

Joint Extraction of Entities and Relations Based on a Novel Decomposition Strategy

Joint extraction of entities and relations aims to detect entity pairs along with their relations using a single model. Prior work typically solves this task in the extract-then-classify or unified labeling manner. However, these methods either suffer from the redundant entity pairs, or ignore the important inner structure in the process of extracting entities and relations. To address these limitations, in this paper, we first decompose the joint extraction task into two interrelated subtasks, namely HE extraction and TER extraction. The former subtask is to distinguish all head-entities that may be involved with target relations, and the latter is to identify corresponding tail-entities and relations for each extracted head-entity. Next, these two subtasks are further deconstructed into several sequence labeling problems based on our proposed span-based tagging scheme, which are conveniently solved by a hierarchical boundary tagger and a multi-span decoding algorithm. Owing to the reasonable decomposition strategy, our model can fully capture the semantic interdependency between different steps, as well as reduce noise from irrelevant entity pairs. Experimental results show that our method outperforms previous work by 5.2%, 5.9% and 21.5% (F1 score), achieving a new state-of-the-art on three public datasets
