Underwater target detection based on improved YOLOv7

Underwater target detection is a crucial aspect of ocean exploration. However, conventional underwater target detection methods face several challenges such as inaccurate feature extraction, slow detection speed and lack of robustness in complex underwater environments. To address these limitations, this study proposes an improved YOLOv7 network (YOLOv7-AC) for underwater target detection. The proposed network utilizes an ACmixBlock module to replace the 3x3 convolution block in the E-ELAN structure, and incorporates jump connections and 1x1 convolution architecture between ACmixBlock modules to improve feature extraction and network reasoning speed. Additionally, a ResNet-ACmix module is designed to avoid feature information loss and reduce computation, while a Global Attention Mechanism (GAM) is inserted in the backbone and head parts of the model to improve feature extraction. Furthermore, the K-means++ algorithm is used instead of K-means to obtain anchor boxes and enhance model accuracy. Experimental results show that the improved YOLOv7 network outperforms the original YOLOv7 model and other popular underwater target detection methods. The proposed network achieved a mean average precision (mAP) value of 89.6% and 97.4% on the URPC dataset and Brackish dataset, respectively, and demonstrated a higher frame per second (FPS) compared to the original YOLOv7 model. In conclusion, the improved YOLOv7 network proposed in this study represents a promising solution for underwater target detection and holds great potential for practical applications in various underwater tasks.

MM-BigBench: Evaluating Multimodal Models on Multimodal Content Comprehension Tasks

The popularity of multimodal large language models (MLLMs) has triggered a recent surge in research efforts dedicated to evaluating these models. Nevertheless, existing evaluation studies of MLLMs primarily focus on the comprehension and reasoning of unimodal (vision) content, neglecting performance evaluations in the domain of multimodal (vision-language) content understanding. Beyond multimodal reasoning, tasks related to multimodal content comprehension necessitate a profound understanding of multimodal contexts, achieved through the multimodal interaction to obtain a final answer. In this paper, we introduce a comprehensive assessment framework called MM-BigBench, which incorporates a diverse range of metrics to offer an extensive evaluation of the performance of various models and instructions across a wide spectrum of diverse multimodal content comprehension tasks. Consequently, our work complements research on the performance of MLLMs in multimodal comprehension tasks, achieving a more comprehensive and holistic evaluation of MLLMs. To begin, we employ the Best Performance metric to ascertain each model's performance upper bound on different datasets. Subsequently, the Mean Relative Gain metric offers an assessment of the overall performance of various models and instructions, while the Stability metric measures their sensitivity. Furthermore, previous research centers on evaluating models independently or solely assessing instructions, neglecting the adaptability between models and instructions. We propose the Adaptability metric to quantify the adaptability between models and instructions. Our paper evaluates a total of 20 language models (14 MLLMs) on 14 multimodal datasets spanning 6 tasks, with 10 instructions for each task, and derives novel insights. Recurrent Generic Contour-based Instance Segmentation with Progressive Learning

Contour-based instance segmentation has been actively studied, thanks to its flexibility and elegance in processing visual objects within complex backgrounds. In this work, we propose a novel deep network architecture, i.e., PolySnake, for generic contour-based instance segmentation. Motivated by the classic Snake algorithm, the proposed PolySnake achieves superior and robust segmentation performance with an iterative and progressive contour refinement strategy. Technically, PolySnake introduces a recurrent update operator to estimate the object contour iteratively. It maintains a single estimate of the contour that is progressively deformed toward the object boundary. At each iteration, PolySnake builds a semantic-rich representation for the current contour and feeds it to the recurrent operator for further contour adjustment. Through the iterative refinements, the contour progressively converges to a stable status that tightly encloses the object instance. Beyond the scope of general instance segmentation, extensive experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness and generalizability of our PolySnake in two additional specific task scenarios, including scene text detection and lane detection. The results demonstrate that the proposed PolySnake outperforms the existing advanced methods on several multiple prevalent benchmarks across the three tasks. From "Weak" Signals to Strong Models: Preference Delta Aggregation with LoRA Merging

Training strong large language models (LLMs) requires high-quality supervision, which is often scarce. Recent work shows that paired preference data from weak-weaker model pairs (e.g., Qwen3 4B over 1.7B), despite the limited quality of individual responses, can provide an effective supervision signal through relative quality deltas, which we term a "weak" signal. This motivates a key research question: can multiple "weak" signals be constructively aggregated for improving strong models (e.g., Qwen3 8B)? To this end, we propose Preference Delta Aggregation (PDA), the first framework that derives a preference delta from each weak-weaker model pair, instantiates it as a LoRA adapter learned through preference optimization, and aggregates the resulting deltas via LoRA merging. To further mitigate directional interference during LoRA merging, we introduce Geometric Alignment Merging (GAM), a geometry-aware merging method that aligns adapter subspaces before aggregation, enabling more robust composition of diverse deltas. Evaluations on knowledge reasoning and agentic search benchmarks show that aggregating multiple "weak" signals pushes performance beyond any single signal, with further gains as additional signals are incorporated. Correspondingly, PDA with GAM improves the strong model by 6.8 and 7.3 points on average for knowledge reasoning and agentic search, respectively. It outperforms all single-delta and multi-delta baselines, exceeding the best single-delta baseline by 2.1 and 4.3 points. Further analysis attributes these gains to the effective composition of complementary capabilities encoded across distinct preference deltas.

QueryAgent-R1: Bridging Query Generation and Product Retrieval for E-Commerce Query Recommendation

Query recommendation in e-commerce search aims to proactively suggest queries that match users' potential interests. However, existing methods mainly optimize query-level relevance, while neglecting whether the retrieved products align with users' downstream preferences. This mismatch often leads to high query click through rates (CTR) but low product conversion rates (CVR). To bridge this gap, we propose QueryAgent-R1, a memory-augmented agentic framework that improves end-to-end alignment via chain-of-retrieval optimization. Our QueryAgent-R1 grounds query generation in real inventory retrieval, allowing the agent to validate and refine queries based on retrieved products. We also design a consistency reward in the agentic reinforcement learning (RL) process to jointly optimize query relevance and downstream engagement. In addition, we construct a memory abstraction module for efficient user profiling. To support offline evaluation, we construct two datasets based on both proprietary industrial data and public datasets, on which QueryAgent-R1 consistently outperforms strong baselines. Moreover, on a large scale production platform, QueryAgent-R1 improves Query CTR by 2.9% and guided CVR by 3.1% in online A/B tests.

Force-Aware Interface via Electromyography for Natural VR/AR Interaction

While tremendous advances in visual and auditory realism have been made for virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), introducing a plausible sense of physicality into the virtual world remains challenging. Closing the gap between real-world physicality and immersive virtual experience requires a closed interaction loop: applying user-exerted physical forces to the virtual environment and generating haptic sensations back to the users. However, existing VR/AR solutions either completely ignore the force inputs from the users or rely on obtrusive sensing devices that compromise user experience. By identifying users' muscle activation patterns while engaging in VR/AR, we design a learning-based neural interface for natural and intuitive force inputs. Specifically, we show that lightweight electromyography sensors, resting non-invasively on users' forearm skin, inform and establish a robust understanding of their complex hand activities. Fuelled by a neural-network-based model, our interface can decode finger-wise forces in real-time with 3.3% mean error, and generalize to new users with little calibration. Through an interactive psychophysical study, we show that human perception of virtual objects' physical properties, such as stiffness, can be significantly enhanced by our interface. We further demonstrate that our interface enables ubiquitous control via finger tapping. Ultimately, we envision our findings to push forward research towards more realistic physicality in future VR/AR.

Zero-Knowledge Proof-based Verifiable Decentralized Machine Learning in Communication Network: A Comprehensive Survey

Over recent decades, machine learning has significantly advanced network communication, enabling improved decision-making, user behavior analysis, and fault detection. Decentralized approaches, where participants exchange computation results instead of raw private data, mitigate these risks but introduce challenges related to trust and verifiability. A critical issue arises: How can one ensure the integrity and validity of computation results shared by other participants? Existing survey articles predominantly address security and privacy concerns in decentralized machine learning, whereas this survey uniquely highlights the emerging issue of verifiability. Recognizing the critical role of zero-knowledge proofs in ensuring verifiability, we present a comprehensive review of Zero-Knowledge Proof-based Verifiable Machine Learning (ZKP-VML). To clarify the research problem, we present a definition of ZKP-VML consisting of four algorithms, along with several corresponding key security properties. Besides, we provide an overview of the current research landscape by systematically organizing the research timeline and categorizing existing schemes based on their security properties. Furthermore, through an in-depth analysis of each existing scheme, we summarize their technical contributions and optimization strategies, aiming to uncover common design principles underlying ZKP-VML schemes. Building on the reviews and analysis presented, we identify current research challenges and suggest future research directions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the most comprehensive survey to date on verifiable decentralized machine learning and ZKP-VML.

A High-Performance Accelerator for Super-Resolution Processing on Embedded GPU

Recent years have witnessed impressive progress in super-resolution (SR) processing. However, its real-time inference requirement sets a challenge not only for the model design but also for the on-chip implementation. In this paper, we implement a full-stack SR acceleration framework on embedded GPU devices. The special dictionary learning algorithm used in SR models was analyzed in detail and accelerated via a novel dictionary selective strategy. Besides, the hardware programming architecture together with the model structure is analyzed to guide the optimal design of computation kernels to minimize the inference latency under the resource constraints. With these novel techniques, the communication and computation bottlenecks in the deep dictionary learning-based SR models are tackled perfectly. The experiments on the edge embedded NVIDIA NX and 2080Ti show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art NVIDIA TensorRT significantly, and can achieve real-time performance.

Toward Optimized VR/AR Ergonomics: Modeling and Predicting User Neck Muscle Contraction

Ergonomic efficiency is essential to the mass and prolonged adoption of VR/AR experiences. While VR/AR head-mounted displays unlock users' natural wide-range head movements during viewing, their neck muscle comfort is inevitably compromised by the added hardware weight. Unfortunately, little quantitative knowledge for understanding and addressing such an issue is available so far. Leveraging electromyography devices, we measure, model, and predict VR users' neck muscle contraction levels (MCL) while they move their heads to interact with the virtual environment. Specifically, by learning from collected physiological data, we develop a bio-physically inspired computational model to predict neck MCL under diverse head kinematic states. Beyond quantifying the cumulative MCL of completed head movements, our model can also predict potential MCL requirements with target head poses only. A series of objective evaluations and user studies demonstrate its prediction accuracy and generality, as well as its ability in reducing users' neck discomfort by optimizing the layout of visual targets. Can-Do! A Dataset and Neuro-Symbolic Grounded Framework for Embodied Planning with Large Multimodal Models

Large multimodal models have demonstrated impressive problem-solving abilities in vision and language tasks, and have the potential to encode extensive world knowledge. However, it remains an open challenge for these models to perceive, reason, plan, and act in realistic environments. In this work, we introduce Can-Do, a benchmark dataset designed to evaluate embodied planning abilities through more diverse and complex scenarios than previous datasets. Our dataset includes 400 multimodal samples, each consisting of natural language user instructions, visual images depicting the environment, state changes, and corresponding action plans. The data encompasses diverse aspects of commonsense knowledge, physical understanding, and safety awareness. Our fine-grained analysis reveals that state-of-the-art models, including GPT-4V, face bottlenecks in visual perception, comprehension, and reasoning abilities. To address these challenges, we propose NeuroGround, a neurosymbolic framework that first grounds the plan generation in the perceived environment states and then leverages symbolic planning engines to augment the model-generated plans. MaDiS: Taming Masked Diffusion Language Models for Sign Language Generation

Sign language generation (SLG) aims to translate written texts into expressive sign motions, bridging communication barriers for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities. Recent studies formulate SLG within the language modeling framework using autoregressive language models, which suffer from unidirectional context modeling and slow token-by-token inference. To address these limitations, we present MaDiS, a masked-diffusion-based language model for SLG that captures bidirectional dependencies and supports efficient parallel multi-token generation. We further introduce a tri-level cross-modal pretraining scheme that jointly learns from token-, latent-, and 3D physical-space objectives, leading to richer and more grounded sign representations. To accelerate model convergence in the fine-tuning stage, we design a novel unmasking strategy with temporal checkpoints, reducing the combinatorial complexity of unmasking orders by over $10^{41}$ times. In addition, a mixture-of-parts embedding layer is developed to effectively fuse information stored in different part-wise sign tokens through learnable gates and well-optimized codebooks. Extensive experiments on CSL-Daily, Phoenix-2014T, and How2Sign demonstrate that MaDiS achieves superior performance across multiple metrics, including DTW error and two newly introduced metrics, SiBLEU and SiCLIP, while reducing inference latency by nearly 30%. Low Latency Point Cloud Rendering with Learned Splatting

Point cloud is a critical 3D representation with many emerging applications. Because of the point sparsity and irregularity, high-quality rendering of point clouds is challenging and often requires complex computations to recover the continuous surface representation. On the other hand, to avoid visual discomfort, the motion-to-photon latency has to be very short, under 10 ms. Existing rendering solutions lack in either quality or speed. To tackle these challenges, we present a framework that unlocks interactive, free-viewing and high-fidelity point cloud rendering. We train a generic neural network to estimate 3D elliptical Gaussians from arbitrary point clouds and use differentiable surface splatting to render smooth texture and surface normal for arbitrary views. Our approach does not require per-scene optimization, and enable real-time rendering of dynamic point cloud. Experimental results demonstrate the proposed solution enjoys superior visual quality and speed, as well as generalizability to different scene content and robustness to compression artifacts. S3IM: Stochastic Structural SIMilarity and Its Unreasonable Effectiveness for Neural Fields

Recently, Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) has shown great success in rendering novel-view images of a given scene by learning an implicit representation with only posed RGB images. NeRF and relevant neural field methods (e.g., neural surface representation) typically optimize a point-wise loss and make point-wise predictions, where one data point corresponds to one pixel. Unfortunately, this line of research failed to use the collective supervision of distant pixels, although it is known that pixels in an image or scene can provide rich structural information. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to design a nonlocal multiplex training paradigm for NeRF and relevant neural field methods via a novel Stochastic Structural SIMilarity (S3IM) loss that processes multiple data points as a whole set instead of process multiple inputs independently. Our extensive experiments demonstrate the unreasonable effectiveness of S3IM in improving NeRF and neural surface representation for nearly free. The improvements of quality metrics can be particularly significant for those relatively difficult tasks: e.g., the test MSE loss unexpectedly drops by more than 90% for TensoRF and DVGO over eight novel view synthesis tasks; a 198% F-score gain and a 64% Chamfer $L_{1}$ distance reduction for NeuS over eight surface reconstruction tasks. Moreover, S3IM is consistently robust even with sparse inputs, corrupted images, and dynamic scenes.

Forest2Seq: Revitalizing Order Prior for Sequential Indoor Scene Synthesis

Synthesizing realistic 3D indoor scenes is a challenging task that traditionally relies on manual arrangement and annotation by expert designers. Recent advances in autoregressive models have automated this process, but they often lack semantic understanding of the relationships and hierarchies present in real-world scenes, yielding limited performance. In this paper, we propose Forest2Seq, a framework that formulates indoor scene synthesis as an order-aware sequential learning problem. Forest2Seq organizes the inherently unordered collection of scene objects into structured, ordered hierarchical scene trees and forests. By employing a clustering-based algorithm and a breadth-first traversal, Forest2Seq derives meaningful orderings and utilizes a transformer to generate realistic 3D scenes autoregressively. Experimental results on standard benchmarks demonstrate Forest2Seq's superiority in synthesizing more realistic scenes compared to top-performing baselines, with significant improvements in FID and KL scores. Our additional experiments for downstream tasks and ablation studies also confirm the importance of incorporating order as a prior in 3D scene generation.

BVI-RLV: A Fully Registered Dataset and Benchmarks for Low-Light Video Enhancement

Low-light videos often exhibit spatiotemporal incoherent noise, compromising visibility and performance in computer vision applications. One significant challenge in enhancing such content using deep learning is the scarcity of training data. This paper introduces a novel low-light video dataset, consisting of 40 scenes with various motion scenarios under two distinct low-lighting conditions, incorporating genuine noise and temporal artifacts. We provide fully registered ground truth data captured in normal light using a programmable motorized dolly and refine it via an image-based approach for pixel-wise frame alignment across different light levels. We provide benchmarks based on four different technologies: convolutional neural networks, transformers, diffusion models, and state space models (mamba). Our experimental results demonstrate the significance of fully registered video pairs for low-light video enhancement (LLVE) and the comprehensive evaluation shows that the models trained with our dataset outperform those trained with the existing datasets. Ani3DHuman: Photorealistic 3D Human Animation with Self-guided Stochastic Sampling

Current 3D human animation methods struggle to achieve photorealism: kinematics-based approaches lack non-rigid dynamics (e.g., clothing dynamics), while methods that leverage video diffusion priors can synthesize non-rigid motion but suffer from quality artifacts and identity loss. To overcome these limitations, we present Ani3DHuman, a framework that marries kinematics-based animation with video diffusion priors. We first introduce a layered motion representation that disentangles rigid motion from residual non-rigid motion. Rigid motion is generated by a kinematic method, which then produces a coarse rendering to guide the video diffusion model in generating video sequences that restore the residual non-rigid motion. However, this restoration task, based on diffusion sampling, is highly challenging, as the initial renderings are out-of-distribution, causing standard deterministic ODE samplers to fail. Therefore, we propose a novel self-guided stochastic sampling method, which effectively addresses the out-of-distribution problem by combining stochastic sampling (for photorealistic quality) with self-guidance (for identity fidelity). These restored videos provide high-quality supervision, enabling the optimization of the residual non-rigid motion field. Dirichlet-Neumann learning algorithm for solving elliptic interface problems

Non-overlapping domain decomposition methods are natural for solving interface problems arising from various disciplines, however, the numerical simulation requires technical analysis and is often available only with the use of high-quality grids, thereby impeding their use in more complicated situations. To remove the burden of mesh generation and to effectively tackle with the interface jump conditions, a novel mesh-free scheme, i.e., Dirichlet-Neumann learning algorithm, is proposed in this work to solve the benchmark elliptic interface problem with high-contrast coefficients as well as irregular interfaces. By resorting to the variational principle, we carry out a rigorous error analysis to evaluate the discrepancy caused by the boundary penalty treatment for each decomposed subproblem, which paves the way for realizing the Dirichlet-Neumann algorithm using neural network extension operators. The effectiveness and robustness of our proposed methods are demonstrated experimentally through a series of elliptic interface problems, achieving better performance over other alternatives especially in the presence of erroneous flux prediction at interface.

Transformer Layers as Painters

Despite their nearly universal adoption for large language models, the internal workings of transformers are not well understood. We aim to better understand the impact of removing or reorganizing information throughout the layers of a pretrained transformer. Such an understanding could both yield better usage of existing models as well as to make architectural improvements to produce new variants. We present a series of empirical studies on frozen models that show that the lower and final layers of pretrained transformers differ from middle layers, but that middle layers have a surprising amount of uniformity. We further show that some classes of problems have robustness to skipping layers, running the layers in an order different from how they were trained, or running the layers in parallel. Our observations suggest that even frozen pretrained models may gracefully trade accuracy for latency by skipping layers or running layers in parallel.

Rocket Landing Control with Random Annealing Jump Start Reinforcement Learning

Rocket recycling is a crucial pursuit in aerospace technology, aimed at reducing costs and environmental impact in space exploration. The primary focus centers on rocket landing control, involving the guidance of a nonlinear underactuated rocket with limited fuel in real-time. This challenging task prompts the application of reinforcement learning (RL), yet goal-oriented nature of the problem poses difficulties for standard RL algorithms due to the absence of intermediate reward signals. This paper, for the first time, significantly elevates the success rate of rocket landing control from 8% with a baseline controller to 97% on a high-fidelity rocket model using RL. Our approach, called Random Annealing Jump Start (RAJS), is tailored for real-world goal-oriented problems by leveraging prior feedback controllers as guide policy to facilitate environmental exploration and policy learning in RL. In each episode, the guide policy navigates the environment for the guide horizon, followed by the exploration policy taking charge to complete remaining steps. This jump-start strategy prunes exploration space, rendering the problem more tractable to RL algorithms. The guide horizon is sampled from a uniform distribution, with its upper bound annealing to zero based on performance metrics, mitigating distribution shift and mismatch issues in existing methods. Additional enhancements, including cascading jump start, refined reward and terminal condition, and action smoothness regulation, further improve policy performance and practical applicability. The proposed method is validated through extensive evaluation and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, affirming the effectiveness, real-time feasibility, and smoothness of the proposed controller.

Image-GS: Content-Adaptive Image Representation via 2D Gaussians

Neural image representations have emerged as a promising approach for encoding and rendering visual data. Combined with learning-based workflows, they demonstrate impressive trade-offs between visual fidelity and memory footprint. Existing methods in this domain, however, often rely on fixed data structures that suboptimally allocate memory or compute-intensive implicit models, hindering their practicality for real-time graphics applications. Inspired by recent advancements in radiance field rendering, we introduce Image-GS, a content-adaptive image representation based on 2D Gaussians. Leveraging a custom differentiable renderer, Image-GS reconstructs images by adaptively allocating and progressively optimizing a group of anisotropic, colored 2D Gaussians. It achieves a favorable balance between visual fidelity and memory efficiency across a variety of stylized images frequently seen in graphics workflows, especially for those showing non-uniformly distributed features and in low-bitrate regimes. Moreover, it supports hardware-friendly rapid random access for real-time usage, requiring only 0.3K MACs to decode a pixel. Through error-guided progressive optimization, Image-GS naturally constructs a smooth level-of-detail hierarchy. FabGPT: An Efficient Large Multimodal Model for Complex Wafer Defect Knowledge Queries

Intelligence is key to advancing integrated circuit (IC) fabrication. Recent breakthroughs in Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) have unlocked extraditionary abilities in understanding images and text, fostering intelligent fabrication. Leveraging the power of LMMs, we introduce FabGPT, a customized IC fabrication large multimodal model for wafer defect knowledge query. FabGPT manifests expertise in conducting defect detection in Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images, performing root cause analysis, and providing expert Q&A on fabrication processes. FabGPT matches enhanced multimodal features to automatically detect minute defects under complex wafer backgrounds and reduce the subjectivity of manual threshold settings. Besides, the proposed modulation module and interactive corpus training strategy embed wafer defect knowledge into the pre-trained model, effectively balancing Q&A queries related to defect knowledge and original knowledge and mitigating the modality bias issues. Experiments on in-house fab data show that FabGPT achieves significant performance improvement in wafer defect detection and knowledge querying.

Aurora-M: Open Source Continual Pre-training for Multilingual Language and Code

Pretrained language models are an integral part of AI applications, but their high computational cost for training limits accessibility. Initiatives such as Bloom and StarCoder aim to democratize access to pretrained models for collaborative community development. Despite these efforts, such models encounter challenges such as limited multilingual capabilities, risks of catastrophic forgetting during continual pretraining, and the high costs of training models from scratch, alongside the need to align with AI safety standards and regulatory frameworks. This paper presents Aurora-M, a 15B parameter multilingual open-source model trained on English, Finnish, Hindi, Japanese, Vietnamese, and code. Continually pretrained from StarCoderPlus on 435B additional tokens, Aurora-M surpasses 2T tokens in total training token count. It is the first open-source multilingual model fine-tuned on human-reviewed safety instructions, thus aligning its development not only with conventional red-teaming considerations, but also with the specific concerns articulated in the Biden-Harris Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence. We evaluate Aurora-M across a wide range of tasks and languages, showcasing its robustness against catastrophic forgetting and its superior performance in multilingual settings, particularly in safety evaluations. Quality Over Clicks: Intrinsic Quality-Driven Iterative Reinforcement Learning for Cold-Start E-Commerce Query Suggestion

Existing dialogue systems rely on Query Suggestion (QS) to enhance user engagement. Recent efforts typically employ large language models with Click-Through Rate (CTR) model, yet fail in cold-start scenarios due to their heavy reliance on abundant online click data for effective CTR model training. To bridge this gap, we propose Cold-EQS, an iterative reinforcement learning framework for Cold-Start E-commerce Query Suggestion (EQS). Specifically, we leverage answerability, factuality, and information gain as reward to continuously optimize the quality of suggested queries. To continuously optimize our QS model, we estimate uncertainty for grouped candidate suggested queries to select hard and ambiguous samples from online user queries lacking click signals. In addition, we provide an EQS-Benchmark comprising 16,949 online user queries for offline training and evaluation. Extensive offline and online experiments consistently demonstrate a strong positive correlation between online and offline effectiveness. Both offline and online experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our Cold-EQS, achieving a significant +6.81% improvement in online chatUV.

Infinite Gaze Generation for Videos with Autoregressive Diffusion

Predicting human gaze in video is fundamental to advancing scene understanding and multimodal interaction. While traditional saliency maps provide spatial probability distributions and scanpaths offer ordered fixations, both abstractions often collapse the fine-grained temporal dynamics of raw gaze. Furthermore, existing models are typically constrained to short-term windows ($\approx$ 3-5s), failing to capture the long-range behavioral dependencies inherent in real-world content. We present a generative framework for infinite-horizon raw gaze prediction in videos of arbitrary length. By leveraging an autoregressive diffusion model, we synthesize gaze trajectories characterized by continuous spatial coordinates and high-resolution timestamps. Our model is conditioned on a saliency-aware visual latent space. Quantitative and qualitative evaluations demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms existing approaches in long-range spatio-temporal accuracy and trajectory realism.

Trainable Fixed-Point Quantization for Deep Learning Acceleration on FPGAs

Quantization is a crucial technique for deploying deep learning models on resource-constrained devices, such as embedded FPGAs. Prior efforts mostly focus on quantizing matrix multiplications, leaving other layers like BatchNorm or shortcuts in floating-point form, even though fixed-point arithmetic is more efficient on FPGAs. A common practice is to fine-tune a pre-trained model to fixed-point for FPGA deployment, but potentially degrading accuracy. This work presents QFX, a novel trainable fixed-point quantization approach that automatically learns the binary-point position during model training. Additionally, we introduce a multiplier-free quantization strategy within QFX to minimize DSP usage. QFX is implemented as a PyTorch-based library that efficiently emulates fixed-point arithmetic, supported by FPGA HLS, in a differentiable manner during backpropagation. With minimal effort, models trained with QFX can readily be deployed through HLS, producing the same numerical results as their software counterparts. Our evaluation shows that compared to post-training quantization, QFX can quantize models trained with element-wise layers quantized to fewer bits and achieve higher accuracy on both CIFAR-10 and ImageNet datasets. We further demonstrate the efficacy of multiplier-free quantization using a state-of-the-art binarized neural network accelerator designed for an embedded FPGA (AMD Xilinx Ultra96 v2). We plan to release QFX in open-source format.

Object-Centric 3D Gaussian Splatting for Strawberry Plant Reconstruction and Phenotyping

Strawberries are among the most economically significant fruits in the United States, generating over $2 billion in annual farm-gate sales and accounting for approximately 13% of the total fruit production value. Plant phenotyping plays a vital role in selecting superior cultivars by characterizing plant traits such as morphology, canopy structure, and growth dynamics. However, traditional plant phenotyping methods are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and often destructive. Recently, neural rendering techniques, notably Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), have emerged as powerful frameworks for high-fidelity 3D reconstruction. By capturing a sequence of multi-view images or videos around a target plant, these methods enable non-destructive reconstruction of complex plant architectures. Despite their promise, most current applications of 3DGS in agricultural domains reconstruct the entire scene, including background elements, which introduces noise, increases computational costs, and complicates downstream trait analysis. To address this limitation, we propose a novel object-centric 3D reconstruction framework incorporating a preprocessing pipeline that leverages the Segment Anything Model v2 (SAM-2) and alpha channel background masking to achieve clean strawberry plant reconstructions. This approach produces more accurate geometric representations while substantially reducing computational time. With a background-free reconstruction, our algorithm can automatically estimate important plant traits, such as plant height and canopy width, using DBSCAN clustering and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Experimental results show that our method outperforms conventional pipelines in both accuracy and efficiency, offering a scalable and non-destructive solution for strawberry plant phenotyping.

Improving Whisper's Recognition Performance for Under-Represented Language Kazakh Leveraging Unpaired Speech and Text

Whisper and other large-scale automatic speech recognition models have made significant progress in performance. However, their performance on many low-resource languages, such as Kazakh, is not satisfactory. It is worth researching how to utilize low-cost data to improve the performance of Whisper on under-represented languages. In this study, we utilized easily accessible unpaired speech and text data and combined the language model GPT with Whisper on Kazakh. We implemented end of transcript (EOT) judgment modification and hallucination penalty to improve the performance of speech recognition. Further, we employed the decoding average token log probability as a criterion to select samples from unlabeled speech data and used pseudo-labeled data to fine-tune the model to further improve its performance. Ultimately, we achieved more than 10\% absolute WER reduction in multiple experiments, and the whole process has the potential to be generalized to other under-represented languages.

ScoRe-Flow: Complete Distributional Control via Score-Based Reinforcement Learning for Flow Matching

Flow Matching (FM) policies have emerged as an efficient backbone for robotic control, offering fast and expressive action generation that underpins recent large-scale embodied AI systems. However, FM policies trained via imitation learning inherit the limitations of demonstration data; surpassing suboptimal behaviors requires reinforcement learning (RL) fine-tuning. Recent methods convert deterministic flows into stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with learnable noise injection, enabling exploration and tractable likelihoods, but such noise-only control can compromise training efficiency when demonstrations already provide strong priors. We observe that modulating the drift via the score function, i.e., the gradient of log-density, steers exploration toward high-probability regions, improving stability. The score admits a closed-form expression from the velocity field, requiring no auxiliary networks. Based on this, we propose ScoRe-Flow, a score-based RL fine-tuning method that combines drift modulation with learned variance prediction to achieve decoupled control over the mean and variance of stochastic transitions. Experiments demonstrate that ScoRe-Flow achieves 2.4x faster convergence than flow-based SOTA on D4RL locomotion tasks and up to 5.4% higher success rates on Robomimic and Franka Kitchen manipulation tasks.

Learning to Orchestrate Agents in Natural Language with the Conductor

Powerful large language models (LLMs) from different providers have been expensively trained and finetuned to specialize across varying domains. In this work, we introduce a new kind of Conductor model trained with reinforcement learning to automatically discover powerful coordination strategies among LLMs. Our Conductor learns not only to design targeted communication topologies for effective agent-to-agent collaboration, but also to prompt engineer focused instructions to the LLMs to maximally leverage their individual capabilities. We show that, by learning optimal coordination strategies over pools of powerful worker LLMs, a 7B Conductor achieves significant performance gains beyond any individual worker, attaining state-of-the-art results in challenging reasoning benchmarks, such as LiveCodeBench and GPQA. By training with randomized agent pools, our conductor effectively adapts to arbitrary sets of open- and closed-source agents, meeting any user requirements. Furthermore, allowing the Conductor to select itself as a worker gives rise to recursive topologies, elevating performance with a new form of dynamic test-time scaling through online iterative adaptation. More broadly, ours is among the early work demonstrating language model coordination can be unlocked through RL, where powerful coordination strategies emerge naturally in LLMs through pure end-to-end reward maximization.

A Wireless World Model for AI-Native 6G Networks

Integrating AI into the physical layer is a cornerstone of 6G networks. However, current data-driven approaches struggle to generalize across dynamic environments because they lack an intrinsic understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation. We introduce the Wireless World Model (WWM), a multi-modal foundation framework predicting the spatiotemporal evolution of wireless channels by internalizing the causal relationship between 3D geometry and signal dynamics. Pre-trained on a massive ray-traced multi-modal dataset, WWM overcomes the data authenticity gap, further validated under real-world measurement data. Using a joint-embedding predictive architecture with a multi-modal mixture-of-experts Transformer, WWM fuses channel state information, 3D point clouds, and user trajectories into a unified representation. Across the five key downstream tasks supported by WWM, it achieves remarkable performance in seen environments, unseen generalization scenarios, and real-world measurements, consistently outperforming SOTA uni-modal foundation models and task-specific models. This paves the way for physics-aware 6G intelligence that adapts to the physical world.

Beyond Crash: Hijacking Your Autonomous Vehicle for Fun and Profit

Autonomous Vehicles (AVs), especially vision-based AVs, are rapidly being deployed without human operators. As AVs operate in safety-critical environments, understanding their robustness in an adversarial environment is an important research problem. Prior physical adversarial attacks on vision-based autonomous vehicles predominantly target immediate safety failures (e.g., a crash, a traffic-rule violation, or a transient lane departure) by inducing a short-lived perception or control error. This paper shows a qualitatively different risk: a long-horizon route integrity compromise, where an attacker gradually steers a victim AV away from its intended route and into an attacker-chosen destination while the victim continues to drive "normally." This will not pose a danger to the victim vehicle itself, but also to potential passengers sitting inside the vehicle. In this paper, we design and implement the first adversarial framework, called JackZebra, that performs route-level hijacking of a vision-based end-to-end driving stack using a physically plausible attacker vehicle with a reconfigurable display mounted on the rear. The central challenge is temporal persistence: adversarial influence must remain effective in changing viewpoints, lighting, weather, traffic, and the victim's continual replanning -- without triggering conspicuous failures. Our key insight is to treat route hijacking as a closed-loop control problem and to convert adversarial patches into steering primitives that can be selected online via an interactive adjustment loop. Our adversarial patches are also carefully designed against worst-case background and sensor variations so that the adversarial impacts on the victim. Our evaluation shows that JackZebra can successfully hijack victim vehicles to deviate from original routes and stop at adversarial destinations with a high success rate.

TRINITY: An Evolved LLM Coordinator

Combining diverse foundation models is promising, but weight-merging is limited by mismatched architectures and closed APIs. Trinity addresses this with a lightweight coordinator that orchestrates collaboration among large language models (LLMs). The coordinator, comprising a compact language model (approximately $0.6$B parameters) and a lightweight head (approximately $10$K parameters), is optimized with an evolutionary strategy for efficient and adaptive delegation. Trinity processes queries over multiple turns, where at each turn the coordinator assigns one of three roles (Thinker, Worker, or Verifier) to a selected LLM, effectively offloading complex skill acquisition from the coordinator itself. Experiments show that Trinity consistently outperforms individual models and existing methods across coding, math, reasoning, and domain knowledge tasks, and generalizes robustly to out-of-distribution tasks. On standard benchmarks, Trinity achieves state-of-the-art results, including a score of 86.2% on LiveCodeBench. Theoretical and empirical analyses identify two main factors behind this performance: (1) the coordinator's hidden-state representations provide rich contextualization of inputs, and (2) under high dimensionality and strict budget constraints, the separable Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy offers advantages over reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and random search by exploiting potential block-epsilon-separability.

Unitho: A Unified Multi-Task Framework for Computational Lithography

Reliable, generalizable data foundations are critical for enabling large-scale models in computational lithography. However, essential tasks-mask generation, rule violation detection, and layout optimization-are often handled in isolation, hindered by scarce datasets and limited modeling approaches. To address these challenges, we introduce Unitho, a unified multi-task large vision model built upon the Transformer architecture. Trained on a large-scale industrial lithography simulation dataset with hundreds of thousands of cases, Unitho supports end-to-end mask generation, lithography simulation, and rule violation detection. By enabling agile and high-fidelity lithography simulation, Unitho further facilitates the construction of robust data foundations for intelligent EDA. Experimental results validate its effectiveness and generalizability, with performance substantially surpassing academic baselines.

Learning to Reconstruct 3D Manhattan Wireframes from a Single Image

In this paper, we propose a method to obtain a compact and accurate 3D wireframe representation from a single image by effectively exploiting global structural regularities. Our method trains a convolutional neural network to simultaneously detect salient junctions and straight lines, as well as predict their 3D depth and vanishing points. Compared with the state-of-the-art learning-based wireframe detection methods, our network is simpler and more unified, leading to better 2D wireframe detection. With global structural priors from parallelism, our method further reconstructs a full 3D wireframe model, a compact vector representation suitable for a variety of high-level vision tasks such as AR and CAD. We conduct extensive evaluations on a large synthetic dataset of urban scenes as well as real images. Our code and datasets have been made public at https://github.com/zhou13/shapeunity.

FSFM: A Biologically-Inspired Framework for Selective Forgetting of Agent Memory

For LLM agents, memory management critically impacts efficiency, quality, and security. While much research focuses on retention, selective forgetting--inspired by human cognitive processes (hippocampal indexing/consolidation theory and Ebbinghaus forgetting curve)--remains underexplored. We argue that in resource-constrained environments, a well-designed forgetting mechanism is as crucial as remembering, delivering benefits across three dimensions: (1) efficiency via intelligent memory pruning, (2) quality by dynamically updating outdated preferences and context, and (3) security through active forgetting of malicious inputs, sensitive data, and privacy-compromising content. Our framework establishes a taxonomy of forgetting mechanisms: passive decay-based, active deletion-based, safety-triggered, and adaptive reinforcement-based. Building on advances in LLM agent architectures and vector databases, we present detailed specifications, implementation strategies, and empirical validation from controlled experiments. Results show significant improvements: access efficiency (+8.49%), content quality (+29.2% signal-to-noise ratio), and security performance (100% elimination of security risks). Our work bridges cognitive neuroscience and AI systems, offering practical solutions for real-world deployment while addressing ethical and regulatory compliance. The paper concludes with challenges and future directions, establishing selective forgetting as a fundamental capability for next-generation LLM agents operating in real-world, resource-constrained scenarios. Our contributions align with AI-native memory systems and responsible AI development.

FluxEDA: A Unified Execution Infrastructure for Stateful Agentic EDA

Large language models and autonomous agents are increasingly explored for EDA automation, but many existing integrations still rely on script-level or request-level interactions, which makes it difficult to preserve tool state and support iterative optimization in real production-oriented environments. In this work, we present FluxEDA, a unified and stateful infrastructure substrate for agentic EDA. FluxEDA introduces a managed gateway-based execution interface with structured request and response handling. It also maintains persistent backend instances. Together, these features allow upper-layer agents and programmable clients to interact with heterogeneous EDA tools through preserved runtime state, rather than through isolated shell invocations. We evaluate the framework using two representative commercial backend case studies: automated post-route timing ECO and standard-cell sub-library optimization. The results show that FluxEDA can support multi-step analysis and optimization over real tool contexts, including state reuse, rollback, and coordinated iterative execution. These findings suggest that a stateful and governed infrastructure layer is a practical foundation for agent-assisted EDA automation.

Evolutionary Context Search for Automated Skill Acquisition

Large Language Models cannot reliably acquire new knowledge post-deployment -- even when relevant text resources exist, models fail to transform them into actionable knowledge without retraining. Retrieval-Augmented Generation attempts to bridge this gap by surfacing relevant documents at inference time, yet similarity-based retrieval often fails to identify context that actually improves task performance. We introduce Evolutionary Context Search (ECS), an evolutionary method that searches context combinations using accuracy on a small development set, requiring only inference calls without weight updates. ECS moves beyond semantic similarity to discover non-obvious context pairings that significantly boost performance. Our empirical results show that ECS improves BackendBench by 27\% and $τ$-bench airline by 7\%. The evolved contexts are model-agnostic, as those evolved with Gemini-3-Flash transfer effectively to Claude Sonnet and DeepSeek. This suggests that ECS opens a path toward automated context discovery for skill acquisition -- an efficient alternative to manual prompt engineering or costly fine-tuning.

A Chit-Chats Enhanced Task-Oriented Dialogue Corpora for Fuse-Motive Conversation Systems

The goal of building intelligent dialogue systems has largely been separately pursued under two motives: task-oriented dialogue (TOD) systems, and open-domain systems for chit-chat (CC). Although previous TOD dialogue systems work well in the testing sets of benchmarks, they would lead to undesirable failure when being exposed to natural scenarios in practice, where user utterances can be of high motive-diversity that fusing both TOD and CC in multi-turn interaction. Since an industrial TOD system should be able to converse with the user between TOD and CC motives, constructing a fuse-motive dialogue dataset that contains both TOD or CC is important. Most prior work relies on crowd workers to collect and annotate large scale dataset and is restricted to English language setting. Our work, on the contrary, addresses this problem in a more effective way and releases a multi-turn dialogues dataset called CCET (Chinese Chat-Enhanced-Task). Meanwhile, we also propose a line of fuse-motive dialogues formalization approach, along with several evaluation metrics for TOD sessions that are integrated by CC utterances.

NORA: A Small Open-Sourced Generalist Vision Language Action Model for Embodied Tasks

Existing Visual-Language-Action (VLA) models have shown promising performance in zero-shot scenarios, demonstrating impressive task execution and reasoning capabilities. However, a significant challenge arises from the limitations of visual encoding, which can result in failures during tasks such as object grasping. Moreover, these models typically suffer from high computational overhead due to their large sizes, often exceeding 7B parameters. While these models excel in reasoning and task planning, the substantial computational overhead they incur makes them impractical for real-time robotic environments, where speed and efficiency are paramount. To address the limitations of existing VLA models, we propose NORA, a 3B-parameter model designed to reduce computational overhead while maintaining strong task performance. NORA adopts the Qwen-2.5-VL-3B multimodal model as its backbone, leveraging its superior visual-semantic understanding to enhance visual reasoning and action grounding. Additionally, our \model{} is trained on 970k real-world robot demonstrations and equipped with the FAST+ tokenizer for efficient action sequence generation. Experimental results demonstrate that NORA outperforms existing large-scale VLA models, achieving better task performance with significantly reduced computational overhead, making it a more practical solution for real-time robotic autonomy.

Privy: From Fine Print to Fair Practice in Privacy Rights Exercise

Privacy regulations such as the CCPA and GDPR grant individuals rights over their personal data, yet it remains challenging for most users to exercise them in practice due to vague policy interpretation and unapproachable settings on web interfaces. We introduce Privy, an LLM-powered browser assistant that guides users through exercising their privacy rights on websites. Privy automatically analyzes a website's privacy policy and surfaces the specific rights available as action labels in a side panel. When a user selects a right, Privy provides step-by-step guidance and navigation, presenting direct links, generating email templates, or guiding form completion. Users can also request on-demand policy evidence and rights education to enhance their literacy. A technical evaluation across 14 websites shows that Privy extracts rights with high precision (0.979) and completes 96.3\% of privacy tasks in an average of 3.2 steps. A user study (N=15) also demonstrates the overall high-level of perceived helpfulness among users. Our findings suggest that comprehension and usability are not two separate challenges but a single interaction problem, and that effective privacy support requires integration of policy understanding and privacy actions. We offer design suggestions for future privacy assistants.

Emma-X: An Embodied Multimodal Action Model with Grounded Chain of Thought and Look-ahead Spatial Reasoning

Traditional reinforcement learning-based robotic control methods are often task-specific and fail to generalize across diverse environments or unseen objects and instructions. Visual Language Models (VLMs) demonstrate strong scene understanding and planning capabilities but lack the ability to generate actionable policies tailored to specific robotic embodiments. To address this, Visual-Language-Action (VLA) models have emerged, yet they face challenges in long-horizon spatial reasoning and grounded task planning. In this work, we propose the Embodied Multimodal Action Model with Grounded Chain of Thought and Look-ahead Spatial Reasoning, Emma-X. Emma-X leverages our constructed hierarchical embodiment dataset based on BridgeV2, containing 60,000 robot manipulation trajectories auto-annotated with grounded task reasoning and spatial guidance. Additionally, we introduce a trajectory segmentation strategy based on gripper states and motion trajectories, which can help mitigate hallucination in grounding subtask reasoning generation. Transformer-Squared: Self-adaptive LLMs

Self-adaptive large language models (LLMs) aim to solve the challenges posed by traditional fine-tuning methods, which are often computationally intensive and static in their ability to handle diverse tasks. We introduce Transformer-Squared, a novel self-adaptation framework that adapts LLMs for unseen tasks in real-time by selectively adjusting only the singular components of their weight matrices. During inference, Transformer-Squared employs a two-pass mechanism: first, a dispatch system identifies the task properties, and then task-specific 'expert' vectors, trained using reinforcement learning, are dynamically mixed to obtain targeted behavior for the incoming prompt. Our method consistently outperforms ubiquitous approaches such as LoRA, with fewer parameters and greater efficiency. Furthermore, Transformer-Squared demonstrates versatility across different LLM architectures and modalities, including vision-language tasks. Transformer-Squared represents a significant leap forward, offering a scalable, efficient solution for enhancing the adaptability and task-specific performance of LLMs, paving the way for truly dynamic, self-organizing AI systems.

Computer Vision-Driven Gesture Recognition: Toward Natural and Intuitive Human-Computer

This study mainly explores the application of natural gesture recognition based on computer vision in human-computer interaction, aiming to improve the fluency and naturalness of human-computer interaction through gesture recognition technology. In the fields of virtual reality, augmented reality and smart home, traditional input methods have gradually failed to meet the needs of users for interactive experience. As an intuitive and convenient interaction method, gestures have received more and more attention. This paper proposes a gesture recognition method based on a three-dimensional hand skeleton model. By simulating the three-dimensional spatial distribution of hand joints, a simplified hand skeleton structure is constructed. By connecting the palm and each finger joint, a dynamic and static gesture model of the hand is formed, which further improves the accuracy and efficiency of gesture recognition. Experimental results show that this method can effectively recognize various gestures and maintain high recognition accuracy and real-time response capabilities in different environments. In addition, combined with multimodal technologies such as eye tracking, the intelligence level of the gesture recognition system can be further improved, bringing a richer and more intuitive user experience. In the future, with the continuous development of computer vision, deep learning and multimodal interaction technology, natural interaction based on gestures will play an important role in a wider range of application scenarios and promote revolutionary progress in human-computer interaction.

GazeFusion: Saliency-Guided Image Generation

Diffusion models offer unprecedented image generation power given just a text prompt. While emerging approaches for controlling diffusion models have enabled users to specify the desired spatial layouts of the generated content, they cannot predict or control where viewers will pay more attention due to the complexity of human vision. Recognizing the significance of attention-controllable image generation in practical applications, we present a saliency-guided framework to incorporate the data priors of human visual attention mechanisms into the generation process. Given a user-specified viewer attention distribution, our control module conditions a diffusion model to generate images that attract viewers' attention toward the desired regions. To assess the efficacy of our approach, we performed an eye-tracked user study and a large-scale model-based saliency analysis. The results evidence that both the cross-user eye gaze distributions and the saliency models' predictions align with the desired attention distributions. Lastly, we outline several applications, including interactive design of saliency guidance, attention suppression in unwanted regions, and adaptive generation for varied display/viewing conditions.

Towards Robust Agentic CUDA Kernel Benchmarking, Verification, and Optimization

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) demonstrate their effectiveness in scaling test-time compute for software engineering tasks. However, these approaches often focus on high-level solutions, with limited attention to optimizing low-level CUDA kernel implementations. Additionally, existing kernel generation benchmarks suffer from exploitable loopholes and insufficient diversity in testing conditions, hindering true generalization assessment. To address these limitations, we introduce robust-kbench, a new benchmark for rigorous evaluation of kernel performance and correctness across varied scenarios. Furthermore, we present a comprehensive agentic framework that automates CUDA kernel discovery, verification, and optimization. This pipeline enables frontier LLMs to translate torch code to CUDA kernels and iteratively improve their runtime within our robust evaluation setting. Our sequential workflow first translates PyTorch code into equivalent CUDA kernels. It then optimizes their runtime using a novel evolutionary meta-generation procedure tailored to the CUDA ecosystem, guided by LLM-based verifiers for correctness and efficient filtering. Evaluated on robust-kbench, our approach produces CUDA kernels outperforming torch implementations for practical applications, including forward and backward passes. It can fuse operations and deploy various runtime optimization strategies. The verifier workflow accurately classifies incorrect kernels, enhancing hardware verification efficiency.

Advancing Sequential Numerical Prediction in Autoregressive Models

Autoregressive models have become the de facto choice for sequence generation tasks, but standard approaches treat digits as independent tokens and apply cross-entropy loss, overlooking the coherent structure of numerical sequences. This paper introduces Numerical Token Integrity Loss (NTIL) to address this gap. NTIL operates at two levels: (1) token-level, where it extends the Earth Mover's Distance (EMD) to preserve ordinal relationships between numerical values, and (2) sequence-level, where it penalizes the overall discrepancy between the predicted and actual sequences. This dual approach improves numerical prediction and integrates effectively with LLMs/MLLMs. Extensive experiments show significant performance improvements with NTIL.

Search, Do not Guess: Teaching Small Language Models to Be Effective Search Agents

Agents equipped with search tools have emerged as effective solutions for knowledge-intensive tasks. While Large Language Models (LLMs) exhibit strong reasoning capabilities, their high computational cost limits practical deployment for search agents. Consequently, recent work has focused on distilling agentic behaviors from LLMs into Small Language Models (SLMs). Through comprehensive evaluation on complex multi-hop reasoning tasks, we find that despite possessing less parametric knowledge, SLMs invoke search tools less frequently and are more prone to hallucinations. To address this issue, we propose \policy, a lightweight fine-tuning approach that explicitly trains SLMs to reliably retrieve and generate answers grounded in retrieved evidence. Compared to agent distillation from LLMs, our approach improves performance by 17.3 scores on Bamboogle and 15.3 scores on HotpotQA, achieving LLM-level results across benchmarks. Our further analysis reveals that adaptive search strategies in SLMs often degrade performance, highlighting the necessity of consistent search behavior for reliable reasoning.

SEM-CLIP: Precise Few-Shot Learning for Nanoscale Defect Detection in Scanning Electron Microscope Image

In the field of integrated circuit manufacturing, the detection and classification of nanoscale wafer defects are critical for subsequent root cause analysis and yield enhancement. The complex background patterns observed in scanning electron microscope (SEM) images and the diverse textures of the defects pose significant challenges. Traditional methods usually suffer from insufficient data, labels, and poor transferability. In this paper, we propose a novel few-shot learning approach, SEM-CLIP, for accurate defect classification and segmentation. SEM-CLIP customizes the Contrastive Language-Image Pretraining (CLIP) model to better focus on defect areas and minimize background distractions, thereby enhancing segmentation accuracy. We employ text prompts enriched with domain knowledge as prior information to assist in precise analysis. Additionally, our approach incorporates feature engineering with textual guidance to categorize defects more effectively. SEM-CLIP requires little annotated data, substantially reducing labor demands in the semiconductor industry. Extensive experimental validation demonstrates that our model achieves impressive classification and segmentation results under few-shot learning scenarios.

Exploiting GPT-4 Vision for Zero-shot Point Cloud Understanding

In this study, we tackle the challenge of classifying the object category in point clouds, which previous works like PointCLIP struggle to address due to the inherent limitations of the CLIP architecture. Our approach leverages GPT-4 Vision (GPT-4V) to overcome these challenges by employing its advanced generative abilities, enabling a more adaptive and robust classification process. We adapt the application of GPT-4V to process complex 3D data, enabling it to achieve zero-shot recognition capabilities without altering the underlying model architecture. Our methodology also includes a systematic strategy for point cloud image visualization, mitigating domain gap and enhancing GPT-4V's efficiency. Experimental validation demonstrates our approach's superiority in diverse scenarios, setting a new benchmark in zero-shot point cloud classification.

ShoppingBench: A Real-World Intent-Grounded Shopping Benchmark for LLM-based Agents

Existing benchmarks in e-commerce primarily focus on basic user intents, such as finding or purchasing products. However, real-world users often pursue more complex goals, such as applying vouchers, managing budgets, and finding multi-products seller. To bridge this gap, we propose ShoppingBench, a novel end-to-end shopping benchmark designed to encompass increasingly challenging levels of grounded intent. Specifically, we propose a scalable framework to simulate user instructions based on various intents derived from sampled real-world products. To facilitate consistent and reliable evaluations, we provide a large-scale shopping sandbox that serves as an interactive simulated environment, incorporating over 2.5 million real-world products. Experimental results demonstrate that even state-of-the-art language agents (such as GPT-4.1) achieve absolute success rates under 50% on our benchmark tasks, highlighting the significant challenges posed by our ShoppingBench. In addition, we propose a trajectory distillation strategy and leverage supervised fine-tuning, along with reinforcement learning on synthetic trajectories, to distill the capabilities of a large language agent into a smaller one. As a result, our trained agent achieves competitive performance compared to GPT-4.1.
