GPLA-12: An Acoustic Signal Dataset of Gas Pipeline Leakage

Jie Li, Lizhong Yao

In this paper, we introduce a new acoustic leakage dataset of gas pipelines, called as GPLA-12, which has 12 categories over 684 training/testing acoustic signals. Unlike massive image and voice datasets, there have relatively few acoustic signal datasets, especially for engineering fault detection. In order to enhance the development of fault diagnosis, we collect acoustic leakage signals on the basis of an intact gas pipe system with external artificial leakages, and then preprocess the collected data with structured tailoring which are turned into GPLA-12. GPLA-12 dedicates to serve as a feature learning dataset for time-series tasks and classifications. To further understand the dataset, we train both shadow and deep learning algorithms to observe the performance. The dataset as well as the pretrained models have been released at both www.daip.club and github.com/Deep-AI-Application-DAIP

Balanced Symmetric Cross Entropy for Large Scale Imbalanced and Noisy Data

Feifei Huang, Jie Li, Xuelin Zhu

Deep convolution neural network has attracted many attentions in large-scale visual classification task, and achieves significant performance improvement compared to traditional visual analysis methods. In this paper, we explore many kinds of deep convolution neural network architectures for large-scale product recognition task, which is heavily class-imbalanced and noisy labeled data, making it more challenged. Extensive experiments show that PNASNet achieves best performance among a variety of convolutional architectures. Together with ensemble technology and negative learning loss for noisy labeled data, we further improve the model performance on online test data. Finally, our proposed method achieves 0.1515 mean top-1 error on online test data.

Learning to Fuse Things and Stuff

Jie Li, Allan Raventos, Arjun Bhargava et al.

We propose an end-to-end learning approach for panoptic segmentation, a novel task unifying instance (things) and semantic (stuff) segmentation. Our model, TASCNet, uses feature maps from a shared backbone network to predict in a single feed-forward pass both things and stuff segmentations. We explicitly constrain these two output distributions through a global things and stuff binary mask to enforce cross-task consistency. Our proposed unified network is competitive with the state of the art on several benchmarks for panoptic segmentation as well as on the individual semantic and instance segmentation tasks.

Universal Perturbation Attack Against Image Retrieval

Jie Li, Rongrong Ji, Hong Liu et al.

Universal adversarial perturbations (UAPs), a.k.a. input-agnostic perturbations, has been proved to exist and be able to fool cutting-edge deep learning models on most of the data samples. Existing UAP methods mainly focus on attacking image classification models. Nevertheless, little attention has been paid to attacking image retrieval systems. In this paper, we make the first attempt in attacking image retrieval systems. Concretely, image retrieval attack is to make the retrieval system return irrelevant images to the query at the top ranking list. It plays an important role to corrupt the neighbourhood relationships among features in image retrieval attack. To this end, we propose a novel method to generate retrieval-against UAP to break the neighbourhood relationships of image features via degrading the corresponding ranking metric. To expand the attack method to scenarios with varying input sizes or untouchable network parameters, a multi-scale random resizing scheme and a ranking distillation strategy are proposed. We evaluate the proposed method on four widely-used image retrieval datasets, and report a significant performance drop in terms of different metrics, such as mAP and mP@10. Finally, we test our attack methods on the real-world visual search engine, i.e., Google Images, which demonstrates the practical potentials of our methods.
