Directed Transmission Method, A Fully Asynchronous approach to Solve Sparse Linear Systems in Parallel

In this paper, we propose a new distributed algorithm, called Directed Transmission Method (DTM). DTM is a fully asynchronous and continuous-time iterative algorithm to solve SPD sparse linear system. As an architecture-aware algorithm, DTM could be freely running on all kinds of heterogeneous parallel computer. We proved that DTM is convergent by making use of the final-value theorem of Laplacian Transformation. Numerical experiments show that DTM is stable and efficient.

Virtual Transmission Method, A New Distributed Algorithm to Solve Sparse Linear System

In this paper, we propose a new parallel algorithm which could work naturally on the parallel computer with arbitrary number of processors. This algorithm is named Virtual Transmission Method (VTM). Its physical backgroud is the lossless transmission line and microwave network. The basic idea of VTM is to insert lossless transmission lines into the sparse linear system to achieve distributed computing. VTM is proved to be convergent to solve SPD linear system. Preconditioning method and performance model are presented. Numerical experiments show that VTM is efficient, accurate and stable. Accompanied with VTM, we bring in a new technique to partition the symmetric linear system, which is named Generalized Node & Branch Tearing (GNBT). It is based on Kirchhoff's Current Law from circuit theory. We proved that GNBT is feasible to partition any SPD linear system.

Cactus Mechanisms: Optimal Differential Privacy Mechanisms in the Large-Composition Regime

Most differential privacy mechanisms are applied (i.e., composed) numerous times on sensitive data. We study the design of optimal differential privacy mechanisms in the limit of a large number of compositions. As a consequence of the law of large numbers, in this regime the best privacy mechanism is the one that minimizes the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the conditional output distributions of the mechanism given two different inputs. We formulate an optimization problem to minimize this divergence subject to a cost constraint on the noise. We first prove that additive mechanisms are optimal. Since the optimization problem is infinite dimensional, it cannot be solved directly; nevertheless, we quantize the problem to derive near-optimal additive mechanisms that we call "cactus mechanisms" due to their shape. We show that our quantization approach can be arbitrarily close to an optimal mechanism. Surprisingly, for quadratic cost, the Gaussian mechanism is strictly sub-optimal compared to this cactus mechanism. Finally, we provide numerical results which indicate that cactus mechanism outperforms the Gaussian mechanism for a finite number of compositions.

Can a Robot Walk the Robotic Dog: Triple-Zero Collaborative Navigation for Heterogeneous Multi-Agent Systems

We present Triple Zero Path Planning (TZPP), a collaborative framework for heterogeneous multi-robot systems that requires zero training, zero prior knowledge, and zero simulation. TZPP employs a coordinator--explorer architecture: a humanoid robot handles task coordination, while a quadruped robot explores and identifies feasible paths using guidance from a multimodal large language model. We implement TZPP on Unitree G1 and Go2 robots and evaluate it across diverse indoor and outdoor environments, including obstacle-rich and landmark-sparse settings. Experiments show that TZPP achieves robust, human-comparable efficiency and strong adaptability to unseen scenarios. By eliminating reliance on training and simulation, TZPP offers a practical path toward real-world deployment of heterogeneous robot cooperation. The Saddle-Point Accountant for Differential Privacy

We introduce a new differential privacy (DP) accountant called the saddle-point accountant (SPA). SPA approximates privacy guarantees for the composition of DP mechanisms in an accurate and fast manner. Our approach is inspired by the saddle-point method -- a ubiquitous numerical technique in statistics. We prove rigorous performance guarantees by deriving upper and lower bounds for the approximation error offered by SPA. The crux of SPA is a combination of large-deviation methods with central limit theorems, which we derive via exponentially tilting the privacy loss random variables corresponding to the DP mechanisms. One key advantage of SPA is that it runs in constant time for the $n$-fold composition of a privacy mechanism. Numerical experiments demonstrate that SPA achieves comparable accuracy to state-of-the-art accounting methods with a faster runtime.

MobileVLM V2: Faster and Stronger Baseline for Vision Language Model

We introduce MobileVLM V2, a family of significantly improved vision language models upon MobileVLM, which proves that a delicate orchestration of novel architectural design, an improved training scheme tailored for mobile VLMs, and rich high-quality dataset curation can substantially benefit VLMs' performance. Specifically, MobileVLM V2 1.7B achieves better or on-par performance on standard VLM benchmarks compared with much larger VLMs at the 3B scale. Notably, our 3B model outperforms a large variety of VLMs at the 7B+ scale. Our models will be released at https://github.com/Meituan-AutoML/MobileVLM .

AgentScope: A Flexible yet Robust Multi-Agent Platform

With the rapid advancement of Large Language Models (LLMs), significant progress has been made in multi-agent applications. However, the complexities in coordinating agents' cooperation and LLMs' erratic performance pose notable challenges in developing robust and efficient multi-agent applications. To tackle these challenges, we propose AgentScope, a developer-centric multi-agent platform with message exchange as its core communication mechanism. The abundant syntactic tools, built-in agents and service functions, user-friendly interfaces for application demonstration and utility monitor, zero-code programming workstation, and automatic prompt tuning mechanism significantly lower the barriers to both development and deployment. Towards robust and flexible multi-agent application, AgentScope provides both built-in and customizable fault tolerance mechanisms. At the same time, it is also armed with system-level support for managing and utilizing multi-modal data, tools, and external knowledge. Additionally, we design an actor-based distribution framework, enabling easy conversion between local and distributed deployments and automatic parallel optimization without extra effort. With these features, AgentScope empowers developers to build applications that fully realize the potential of intelligent agents. We have released AgentScope at https://github.com/modelscope/agentscope, and hope AgentScope invites wider participation and innovation in this fast-moving field.

GPG: A Simple and Strong Reinforcement Learning Baseline for Model Reasoning

Reinforcement Learning (RL) can directly enhance the reasoning capabilities of large language models without extensive reliance on Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT). In this work, we revisit the traditional Policy Gradient (PG) mechanism and propose a minimalist RL approach termed Group Policy Gradient (GPG). Unlike conventional methods, GPG directly optimize the original RL objective, thus obviating the need for surrogate loss functions. By eliminating the critic and reference models, avoiding KL divergence constraints, and addressing the advantage and gradient estimation bias, our approach significantly simplifies the training process compared to Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). Our approach achieves superior performance without relying on auxiliary techniques or adjustments. As illustrated in Figure 1, extensive experiments demonstrate that our method not only reduces computational costs but also consistently outperforms GRPO across various unimodal and multimodal tasks. MobileVLM : A Fast, Strong and Open Vision Language Assistant for Mobile Devices

We present MobileVLM, a competent multimodal vision language model (MMVLM) targeted to run on mobile devices. It is an amalgamation of a myriad of architectural designs and techniques that are mobile-oriented, which comprises a set of language models at the scale of 1.4B and 2.7B parameters, trained from scratch, a multimodal vision model that is pre-trained in the CLIP fashion, cross-modality interaction via an efficient projector. We evaluate MobileVLM on several typical VLM benchmarks. Our models demonstrate on par performance compared with a few much larger models. More importantly, we measure the inference speed on both a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 CPU and an NVIDIA Jeston Orin GPU, and we obtain state-of-the-art performance of 21.5 tokens and 65.3 tokens per second, respectively. Lenna: Language Enhanced Reasoning Detection Assistant

With the fast-paced development of multimodal large language models (MLLMs), we can now converse with AI systems in natural languages to understand images. However, the reasoning power and world knowledge embedded in the large language models have been much less investigated and exploited for image perception tasks. In this paper, we propose Lenna, a language-enhanced reasoning detection assistant, which utilizes the robust multimodal feature representation of MLLMs, while preserving location information for detection. This is achieved by incorporating an additional <DET> token in the MLLM vocabulary that is free of explicit semantic context but serves as a prompt for the detector to identify the corresponding position. To evaluate the reasoning capability of Lenna, we construct a ReasonDet dataset to measure its performance on reasoning-based detection. Remarkably, Lenna demonstrates outstanding performance on ReasonDet and comes with significantly low training costs. It also incurs minimal transferring overhead when extended to other tasks. AutoMat: Enabling Automated Crystal Structure Reconstruction from Microscopy via Agentic Tool Use

Machine learning-based interatomic potentials and force fields depend critically on accurate atomic structures, yet such data are scarce due to the limited availability of experimentally resolved crystals. Although atomic-resolution electron microscopy offers a potential source of structural data, converting these images into simulation-ready formats remains labor-intensive and error-prone, creating a bottleneck for model training and validation. We introduce AutoMat, an end-to-end, agent-assisted pipeline that automatically transforms scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) images into atomic crystal structures and predicts their physical properties. AutoMat combines pattern-adaptive denoising, physics-guided template retrieval, symmetry-aware atomic reconstruction, fast relaxation and property prediction via MatterSim, and coordinated orchestration across all stages. We propose the first dedicated STEM2Mat-Bench for this task and evaluate performance using lattice RMSD, formation energy MAE, and structure-matching success rate. By orchestrating external tool calls, AutoMat enables a text-only LLM to outperform vision-language models in this domain, achieving closed-loop reasoning throughout the pipeline. In large-scale experiments over 450 structure samples, AutoMat substantially outperforms existing multimodal large language models and tools. KIMAs: A Configurable Knowledge Integrated Multi-Agent System

Knowledge-intensive conversations supported by large language models (LLMs) have become one of the most popular and helpful applications that can assist people in different aspects. Many current knowledge-intensive applications are centered on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques. While many open-source RAG frameworks facilitate the development of RAG-based applications, they often fall short in handling practical scenarios complicated by heterogeneous data in topics and formats, conversational context management, and the requirement of low-latency response times. This technical report presents a configurable knowledge integrated multi-agent system, KIMAs, to address these challenges. KIMAs features a flexible and configurable system for integrating diverse knowledge sources with 1) context management and query rewrite mechanisms to improve retrieval accuracy and multi-turn conversational coherency, 2) efficient knowledge routing and retrieval, 3) simple but effective filter and reference generation mechanisms, and 4) optimized parallelizable multi-agent pipeline execution. Our work provides a scalable framework for advancing the deployment of LLMs in real-world settings. To show how KIMAs can help developers build knowledge-intensive applications with different scales and emphases, we demonstrate how we configure the system to three applications already running in practice with reliable performance.

AdaCuRL: Adaptive Curriculum Reinforcement Learning with Invalid Sample Mitigation and Historical Revisiting

Reinforcement learning (RL) has demonstrated considerable potential for enhancing reasoning in large language models (LLMs). However, existing methods suffer from Gradient Starvation and Policy Degradation when training directly on samples with mixed difficulty. To mitigate this, prior approaches leverage Chain-of-Thought (CoT) data, but the construction of high-quality CoT annotations remains labor-intensive. Alternatively, curriculum learning strategies have been explored but frequently encounter challenges, such as difficulty mismatch, reliance on manual curriculum design, and catastrophic forgetting. To address these issues, we propose AdaCuRL, a Adaptive Curriculum Reinforcement Learning framework that integrates coarse-to-fine difficulty estimation with adaptive curriculum scheduling. This approach dynamically aligns data difficulty with model capability and incorporates a data revisitation mechanism to mitigate catastrophic forgetting. Furthermore, AdaCuRL employs adaptive reference and sparse KL strategies to prevent Policy Degradation. Extensive experiments across diverse reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that AdaCuRL consistently achieves significant performance improvements on both LLMs and MLLMs.

UPRE: Zero-Shot Domain Adaptation for Object Detection via Unified Prompt and Representation Enhancement

Zero-shot domain adaptation (ZSDA) presents substantial challenges due to the lack of images in the target domain. Previous approaches leverage Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to tackle this challenge, exploiting their zero-shot learning capabilities. However, these methods primarily address domain distribution shifts and overlook the misalignment between the detection task and VLMs, which rely on manually crafted prompts. To overcome these limitations, we propose the unified prompt and representation enhancement (UPRE) framework, which jointly optimizes both textual prompts and visual representations. Specifically, our approach introduces a multi-view domain prompt that combines linguistic domain priors with detection-specific knowledge, and a visual representation enhancement module that produces domain style variations. Furthermore, we introduce multi-level enhancement strategies, including relative domain distance and positive-negative separation, which align multi-modal representations at the image level and capture diverse visual representations at the instance level, respectively. Extensive experiments conducted on nine benchmark datasets demonstrate the superior performance of our framework in ZSDA detection scenarios. Code is available at https://github.com/AMAP-ML/UPRE.

Talk to Right Specialists: Routing and Planning in Multi-agent System for Question Answering

Leveraging large language models (LLMs), an agent can utilize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to integrate external knowledge and increase the reliability of its responses. Current RAG-based agents integrate single, domain-specific knowledge sources, limiting their ability and leading to hallucinated or inaccurate responses when addressing cross-domain queries. Integrating multiple knowledge bases into a unified RAG-based agent raises significant challenges, including increased retrieval overhead and data sovereignty when sensitive data is involved. In this work, we propose RopMura, a novel multi-agent system that addresses these limitations by incorporating highly efficient routing and planning mechanisms. RopMura features two key components: a router that intelligently selects the most relevant agents based on knowledge boundaries and a planner that decomposes complex multi-hop queries into manageable steps, allowing for coordinating cross-domain responses. Experimental results demonstrate that RopMura effectively handles both single-hop and multi-hop queries, with the routing mechanism enabling precise answers for single-hop queries and the combined routing and planning mechanisms achieving accurate, multi-step resolutions for complex queries.

Exploring Privacy and Fairness Risks in Sharing Diffusion Models: An Adversarial Perspective

Diffusion models have recently gained significant attention in both academia and industry due to their impressive generative performance in terms of both sampling quality and distribution coverage. Accordingly, proposals are made for sharing pre-trained diffusion models across different organizations, as a way of improving data utilization while enhancing privacy protection by avoiding sharing private data directly. However, the potential risks associated with such an approach have not been comprehensively examined. In this paper, we take an adversarial perspective to investigate the potential privacy and fairness risks associated with the sharing of diffusion models. Specifically, we investigate the circumstances in which one party (the sharer) trains a diffusion model using private data and provides another party (the receiver) black-box access to the pre-trained model for downstream tasks. We demonstrate that the sharer can execute fairness poisoning attacks to undermine the receiver's downstream models by manipulating the training data distribution of the diffusion model. Meanwhile, the receiver can perform property inference attacks to reveal the distribution of sensitive features in the sharer's dataset. Our experiments conducted on real-world datasets demonstrate remarkable attack performance on different types of diffusion models, which highlights the critical importance of robust data auditing and privacy protection protocols in pertinent applications.

Towards Anthropomorphic Conversational AI Part I: A Practical Framework

Large language models (LLMs), due to their advanced natural language capabilities, have seen significant success in applications where the user interface is usually a conversational artificial intelligence (AI) agent and engages the user through multi-round conversations. However, many scenarios require the agents to exhibit stronger social and conversational intelligence and demonstrate more human-like (anthropomorphic) reactions. This is an aspect that foundational LLMs have yet to fully address such that a single call of foundational models might be insufficient. To bridge this gap, we propose a two-stage solution. In this work, we focus on the first stage, introducing a multi-module framework designed to replicate the key aspects of human intelligence involved in conversations. This framework comprises thinking modules for reasoning, resource modules for managing knowledge and external information, and response modules for generating contextually appropriate interactions. With all the modules cooperating, the framework would empower the agents to provide a better human-like conversation experience. In the second stage of our approach, these conversational data, after filtering and labeling, can serve as training and testing data for reinforcement learning, enabling AI to better capture human preferences. This stage is left for future work. In our experiments, volunteers engaged in over 3000 rounds of conversation with the same AI character powered by a standalone LLM and our framework which integrates the same LLM. A separate group of evaluators rated the conversation samples, revealing that our framework significantly enhanced the social and conversational intelligence, even without fine-tuning the LLM.

Grounded in Reality: Learning and Deploying Proactive LLM from Offline Logs

Large Language Models (LLMs) excel as passive responders, but teaching them to be proactive, goal-oriented partners, a critical capability in high-stakes domains, remains a major challenge. Current paradigms either myopically optimize single-turn attributes or rely on brittle, high-cost user simulators, creating a persistent ``reality gap''. To bridge this gap, we introduce \texttt{Learn-to-Ask}, a general, simulator-free framework for learning and deploying proactive dialogue agents \textit{directly from offline expert data}, bypassing the need to model complex user dynamics. Our key insight is to reframe the offline policy learning problem by leveraging the \textbf{observed future} of each expert trajectory. This allows us to infer a dense, turn-by-turn reward signal grounded in the expert's revealed strategy, decomposing the intractable long-horizon problem into a series of supervised learning tasks, and training a policy to output a structured \texttt{(action, state_assessment)} tuple, governing both \textbf{what to ask} and, crucially, \textbf{when to stop}. To ensure reward fidelity, our Automated Grader Calibration pipeline systematically purges noise from the LLM-based reward model with minimal human supervision. Empirically, we demonstrate the efficacy of \texttt{Learn-to-Ask} in a real-world medical dataset, using LLMs of varying sizes up to 32B. Our approach culminates in the successful deployment of LLMs into a live, large-scale online AI service. In rigorous in-house evaluations, our model was launched and achieved performance even superior to human experts, proving our framework's ability to translate offline data into tangible, real-world impact. We hope this work provides a practical and economically viable blueprint for transforming passive LLMs into proactive, goal-oriented LLM applications.

Transmission line inspires a new distributed algorithm to solve linear system of circuit

Transmission line, or wire, is always troublesome to integrated circuits designers, but it could be helpful to parallel computing researchers. This paper proposes the Virtual Transmission Method (VTM), which is a new distributed and stationary iterative algorithm to solve the linear system extracted from circuit. It tears the circuit by virtual transmission lines to achieve distributed computing. For the symmetric positive definite (SPD) linear system, VTM is proved to be convergent. For the unsymmetrical linear system, numerical experiments show that VTM is possible to achieve better convergence property than the traditional stationary algorithms. VTM could be accelerated by some preconditioning techniques, and the convergence speed of VTM is fast when its preconditioner is properly chosen.

Waveform Transmission Method, a New Waveform-relaxation Based Algorithm to Solve Ordinary Differential Equations in Parallel

Waveform Relaxation method (WR) is a beautiful algorithm to solve Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). However, because of its poor convergence capability, it was rarely used. In this paper, we propose a new distributed algorithm, named Waveform Transmission Method (WTM), by virtually inserting waveform transmission lines into the dynamical system to achieve distributed computing of extremely large ODEs. WTM has better convergence capability than the traditional WR algorithms.
