Neural Implicit Action Fields: From Discrete Waypoints to Continuous Functions for Vision-Language-Action ModelsHaoyun Liu, Jianzhuang Zhao, Xinyuan Chang et al.
Despite the rapid progress of vision-language-action (VLA) models, the prevailing practice of predicting action chunks as discrete waypoints remains structurally misaligned with the intrinsic continuity of physical motion. This discretization arises naturally from fixed-rate robot data collection and the token-by-token prediction paradigm of large language models, but ties actions to rigid sampling rates, does not naturally support analytically consistent higher-order derivatives, and introduces quantization artifacts that hinder precise, compliant interaction. We propose Neural Implicit Action Fields (NIAF), which reformulates chunk-level action representation from discrete waypoints to continuous action functions. Using a vision-language model as a hierarchical spectral modulator over a learnable motion prior, NIAF synthesizes continuous-time action manifolds with arbitrary temporal resolution. This formulation enables analytical differentiation, allowing explicit supervision of velocity and regularization of higher-order derivative signals to promote mathematical consistency, physical plausibility, and control smoothness. Our approach achieves strong results on CALVIN and LIBERO across diverse backbones. Real-world experiments further confirm that NIAF supports stable impedance control, bridging policy-side action generation and execution-side smooth control.

World-Env: Leveraging World Model as a Virtual Environment for VLA Post-TrainingJunjin Xiao, Yandan Yang, Xinyuan Chang et al.
Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models trained via imitation learning suffer from significant performance degradation in data-scarce scenarios due to their reliance on large-scale demonstration datasets. Although reinforcement learning (RL)-based post-training has proven effective in addressing data scarcity, its application to VLA models is hindered by the non-resettable nature of real-world environments. This limitation is particularly critical in high-risk domains such as industrial automation, where interactions often induce state changes that are costly or infeasible to revert. Furthermore, existing VLA approaches lack a reliable mechanism for detecting task completion, leading to redundant actions that reduce overall task success rates. To address these challenges, we propose RehearseVLA:, an RL-based post-training framework that replaces physical interaction with a low-cost world model-based virtual simulator. RehearseVLA: consists of two key components: (1) a physically-consistent world simulator that generates temporally consistent future visual observations, and (2) a vision-language model (VLM)-guided instant reflector that provides continuous reward signals and predicts action termination. This simulated environment enables VLA models to safely explore and generalize beyond their initial imitation learning distribution. Our method achieves notable performance gains with as few as five expert demonstrations per task. Experiments on complex robotic manipulation tasks demonstrate that RehearseVLA: effectively overcomes the data inefficiency, safety constraints, and inefficient execution of conventional VLA models that rely on real-world interaction, offering a practical and scalable solution for post-training in resource-constrained settings. AR-MAP: Are Autoregressive Large Language Models Implicit Teachers for Diffusion Large Language Models?Liang Lin, Feng Xiong, Zengbin Wang et al.
Diffusion Large Language Models (DLLMs) have emerged as a powerful alternative to autoregressive models, enabling parallel token generation across multiple positions. However, preference alignment of DLLMs remains challenging due to high variance introduced by Evidence Lower Bound (ELBO)-based likelihood estimation. In this work, we propose AR-MAP, a novel transfer learning framework that leverages preference-aligned autoregressive LLMs (AR-LLMs) as implicit teachers for DLLM alignment. We reveal that DLLMs can effectively absorb alignment knowledge from AR-LLMs through simple weight scaling, exploiting the shared architectural structure between these divergent generation paradigms. Crucially, our approach circumvents the high variance and computational overhead of direct DLLM alignment and comprehensive experiments across diverse preference alignment tasks demonstrate that AR-MAP achieves competitive or superior performance compared to existing DLLM-specific alignment methods, achieving 69.08\% average score across all tasks and models. Ace-Skill: Bootstrapping Multimodal Agents with Prioritized and Clustered EvolutionFeng Xiong, Zengbin Wang, Yong Wang et al.
Self-evolving agents present a promising path toward continual adaptation by distilling task interactions into reusable knowledge artifacts. In practice, this paradigm remains hindered by two coupled bottlenecks: data inefficiency, where costly rollout effort is disproportionately spent on low-value samples rather than informative ones, and knowledge interference, where heterogeneous knowledge stored in shared repositories leads to noisy retrieval and task-misaligned guidance. Together, these issues form a self-reinforcing failure loop in which uninformative rollouts yield noisy knowledge, which in turn degrades subsequent rollouts. In this work, we introduce Ace-Skill, a co-evolutionary framework that jointly optimizes rollout allocation and knowledge organization for self-evolving multimodal agents. Specifically, Ace-Skill combines aprioritized sampler with lazy-decay proficiency tracking to focus rollouts on informative and insufficiently mastered samples, and a clustered organizer that semantically clusters knowledge for cleaner retrieval and more reliable adaptation. By improving sampling and organization together, Ace-Skill turns self-evolution into a virtuous cycle in which more informative rollouts produce higher-quality knowledge that supports stronger subsequent rollouts. Across four multimodal tool-use benchmarks, Ace-Skill delivers strong gains (e.g., +35.46% relative improvement in Avg@4 accuracy), enabling an opensource 35B MoE model to match or surpass proprietary models. The acquired knowledge also transfers effectively in a zero-shot manner to smaller 9B and 4B models, allowing resource-constrained agents to inherit advanced capabilities without additional training. ABot-Claw: A Foundation for Persistent, Cooperative, and Self-Evolving Robotic AgentsDongjie Huo, Haoyun Liu, Guoqing Liu et al.
Current embodied intelligent systems still face a substantial gap between high-level reasoning and low-level physical execution in open-world environments. Although Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models provide strong perception and intuitive responses, their open-loop nature limits long-horizon performance. Agents incorporating System 2 cognitive mechanisms improve planning, but usually operate in closed sandboxes with predefined toolkits and limited real-system control. OpenClaw provides a localized runtime with full system privileges, but lacks the embodied control architecture required for long-duration, multi-robot execution. We therefore propose ABot-Claw, an embodied extension of OpenClaw that integrates: 1) a unified embodiment interface with capability-driven scheduling for heterogeneous robot coordination; 2) a visual-centric cross-embodiment multimodal memory for persistent context retention and grounded retrieval; and 3) a critic-based closed-loop feedback mechanism with a generalist reward model for online progress evaluation, local correction, and replanning. With a decoupled architecture spanning the OpenClaw layer, shared service layer, and robot embodiment layer, ABot-Claw enables real-world interaction, closes the loop from natural language intent to physical action, and supports progressively self-evolving robotic agents in open, dynamic environments.

Memory Grafting: Scaling Language Model Pre-training via Offline Conditional MemoryRunxi Cheng, Yuchen Guan, Yongxian Wei et al.
Scaling conditional memory offers a promising way to increase language-model capacity, but existing methods such as Engram learn large memory tables from scratch during pre-training, making memory scaling expensive and sometimes ineffective. We propose Memory Grafting, a conditional memory scaling method that utilizes frozen hidden states from a grafting model as conditional n-gram memory. Given frequent local n-grams, we run the grafting model offline, store final-token hidden representations as memory values, and let the recipient model retrieve them through exact longest-match suffix lookup. Retrieved memories are adapted by lightweight projections and gates, while a hash-based Engram fallback preserves coverage for unmatched contexts. Since the grafting model is only run offline and exact lookup has expected O(1) complexity with respect to memory-bank size, Memory Grafting expands external latent capacity with limited training and inference overhead. Experiments under matched recipient architectures and pre-training budgets show that Memory Grafting improves over both MoE and vanilla Engram baselines. In the 2.8B-scale setting, it improves the average benchmark score from 51.95 for MoE and 52.43 for vanilla Engram to 53.86. In the 0.92B-scale setting, all grafting-model variants improve over the baselines, with Qwen3.5-35B-A3B giving the strongest gains. These results suggest that pretrained models can serve as reusable constructors of external latent memory, providing a practical step toward scaling future language models beyond trainable parameters alone.

AMap: Distilling Future Priors for Ahead-Aware Online HD Map ConstructionRuikai Li, Xinrun Li, Mengwei Xie et al.
Online High-Definition (HD) map construction is pivotal for autonomous driving. While recent approaches leverage historical temporal fusion to improve performance, we identify a critical safety flaw in this paradigm: it is inherently ``spatially backward-looking." These methods predominantly enhance map reconstruction in traversed areas, offering minimal improvement for the unseen road ahead. Crucially, our analysis of downstream planning tasks reveals a severe asymmetry: while rearward perception errors are often tolerable, inaccuracies in the forward region directly precipitate hazardous driving maneuvers. To bridge this safety gap, we propose AMap, a novel framework for Ahead-aware online HD Mapping. We pioneer a ``distill-from-future" paradigm, where a teacher model with privileged access to future temporal contexts guides a lightweight student model restricted to the current frame. This process implicitly compresses prospective knowledge into the student model, endowing it with ``look-ahead" capabilities at zero inference-time cost. Technically, we introduce a Multi-Level BEV Distillation strategy with spatial masking and an Asymmetric Query Adaptation module to effectively transfer future-aware representations to the student's static queries. Extensive experiments on the nuScenes and Argoverse 2 benchmark demonstrate that AMap significantly enhances current-frame perception. Most notably, it outperforms state-of-the-art temporal models in critical forward regions while maintaining the efficiency of single current frame inference.

Multi-Task Model Merging via Adaptive Weight DisentanglementFeng Xiong, Runxi Cheng, Wang Chen et al.
Model merging has recently gained attention as an economical and scalable approach to incorporate task-specific weights from various tasks into a unified multi-task model. For example, in Task Arithmetic (TA), adding the fine-tuned weights of different tasks can enhance the model's performance on those tasks, while subtracting them leads to task forgetting. Although TA is highly effective, interference among task still hampers the performance of the merged model. Existing methods for handling conflicts between task generally rely on empirical selection, resulting in suboptimal performance. In this paper, we introduce an Adaptive Weight Disentanglement method. We begin by theoretically proving that task vectors employed in model merging should be orthogonal to minimize interference among tasks. Guided by this insight, we initialize redundant vectors such that, when subtracted from the original task vectors, the resulting vectors exhibit increased orthogonality. Additionally, we impose an norm constraint on the redundant vectors to preserve the performance of the task-specific models. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed technique: it successfully extracts redundant vectors, and after their subtraction, the task vectors not only retain robust performance but also achieve superior fusion outcomes. ABot-PhysWorld: Interactive World Foundation Model for Robotic Manipulation with Physics AlignmentYuzhi Chen, Ronghan Chen, Dongjie Huo et al.
Video-based world models offer a powerful paradigm for embodied simulation and planning, yet state-of-the-art models often generate physically implausible manipulations - such as object penetration and anti-gravity motion - due to training on generic visual data and likelihood-based objectives that ignore physical laws. We present ABot-PhysWorld, a 14B Diffusion Transformer model that generates visually realistic, physically plausible, and action-controllable videos. Built on a curated dataset of three million manipulation clips with physics-aware annotation, it uses a novel DPO-based post-training framework with decoupled discriminators to suppress unphysical behaviors while preserving visual quality. A parallel context block enables precise spatial action injection for cross-embodiment control. To better evaluate generalization, we introduce EZSbench, the first training-independent embodied zero-shot benchmark combining real and synthetic unseen robot-task-scene combinations. It employs a decoupled protocol to separately assess physical realism and action alignment. ABot-PhysWorld achieves new state-of-the-art performance on PBench and EZSbench, surpassing Veo 3.1 and Sora v2 Pro in physical plausibility and trajectory consistency. We will release EZSbench to promote standardized evaluation in embodied video generation.

Meta-learning is used to efficiently enable the automatic selection of machine learning models by combining data and prior knowledge. Since the traditional meta-learning technique lacks explainability, as well as shortcomings in terms of transparency and fairness, achieving explainability for meta-learning is crucial. This paper proposes FIND, an interpretable meta-learning framework that not only can explain the recommendation results of meta-learning algorithm selection, but also provide a more complete and accurate explanation of the recommendation algorithm's performance on specific datasets combined with business scenarios. The validity and correctness of this framework have been demonstrated by extensive experiments.

G3PT: Unleash the power of Autoregressive Modeling in 3D Generation via Cross-scale Querying TransformerJinzhi Zhang, Feng Xiong, Mu Xu
Autoregressive transformers have revolutionized generative models in language processing and shown substantial promise in image and video generation. However, these models face significant challenges when extended to 3D generation tasks due to their reliance on next-token prediction to learn token sequences, which is incompatible with the unordered nature of 3D data. Instead of imposing an artificial order on 3D data, in this paper, we introduce G3PT, a scalable coarse-to-fine 3D generative model utilizing a cross-scale querying transformer. The key is to map point-based 3D data into discrete tokens with different levels of detail, naturally establishing a sequential relationship between different levels suitable for autoregressive modeling. Additionally, the cross-scale querying transformer connects tokens globally across different levels of detail without requiring an ordered sequence. Benefiting from this approach, G3PT features a versatile 3D generation pipeline that effortlessly supports diverse conditional structures, enabling the generation of 3D shapes from various types of conditions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that G3PT achieves superior generation quality and generalization ability compared to previous 3D generation methods. Most importantly, for the first time in 3D generation, scaling up G3PT reveals distinct power-law scaling behaviors.

YOLO-Drone:Airborne real-time detection of dense small objects from high-altitude perspectiveLi Zhu, Jiahui Xiong, Feng Xiong et al.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), specifically drones equipped with remote sensing object detection technology, have rapidly gained a broad spectrum of applications and emerged as one of the primary research focuses in the field of computer vision. Although UAV remote sensing systems have the ability to detect various objects, small-scale objects can be challenging to detect reliably due to factors such as object size, image degradation, and real-time limitations. To tackle these issues, a real-time object detection algorithm (YOLO-Drone) is proposed and applied to two new UAV platforms as well as a specific light source (silicon-based golden LED). YOLO-Drone presents several novelties: 1) including a new backbone Darknet59; 2) a new complex feature aggregation module MSPP-FPN that incorporated one spatial pyramid pooling and three atrous spatial pyramid pooling modules; 3) and the use of Generalized Intersection over Union (GIoU) as the loss function. To evaluate performance, two benchmark datasets, UAVDT and VisDrone, along with one homemade dataset acquired at night under silicon-based golden LEDs, are utilized. The experimental results show that, in both UAVDT and VisDrone, the proposed YOLO-Drone outperforms state-of-the-art (SOTA) object detection methods by improving the mAP of 10.13% and 8.59%, respectively. With regards to UAVDT, the YOLO-Drone exhibits both high real-time inference speed of 53 FPS and a maximum mAP of 34.04%. Notably, YOLO-Drone achieves high performance under the silicon-based golden LEDs, with a mAP of up to 87.71%, surpassing the performance of YOLO series under ordinary light sources. To conclude, the proposed YOLO-Drone is a highly effective solution for object detection in UAV applications, particularly for night detection tasks where silicon-based golden light LED technology exhibits significant superiority.

Hologram Reasoning for Solving Algebra Problems with Geometry DiagramsLitian Huang, Xinguo Yu, Feng Xiong et al.
Solving Algebra Problems with Geometry Diagrams (APGDs) is still a challenging problem because diagram processing is not studied as intensively as language processing. To work against this challenge, this paper proposes a hologram reasoning scheme and develops a high-performance method for solving APGDs by using this scheme. To reach this goal, it first defines a hologram, being a kind of graph, and proposes a hologram generator to convert a given APGD into a hologram, which represents the entire information of APGD and the relations for solving the problem can be acquired from it by a uniform way. Then HGR, a hologram reasoning method employs a pool of prepared graph models to derive algebraic equations, which is consistent with the geometric theorems. This method is able to be updated by adding new graph models into the pool. Lastly, it employs deep reinforcement learning to enhance the efficiency of model selection from the pool. The entire HGR not only ensures high solution accuracy with fewer reasoning steps but also significantly enhances the interpretability of the solution process by providing descriptions of all reasoning steps. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of HGR in improving both accuracy and interpretability in solving APGDs.

MerNav: A Highly Generalizable Memory-Execute-Review Framework for Zero-Shot Object Goal NavigationDekang Qi, Shuang Zeng, Xinyuan Chang et al.
Visual Language Navigation (VLN) is one of the fundamental capabilities for embodied intelligence and a critical challenge that urgently needs to be addressed. However, existing methods are still unsatisfactory in terms of both success rate (SR) and generalization: Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) approaches typically achieve higher SR, while Training-Free (TF) approaches often generalize better, but it is difficult to obtain both simultaneously. To this end, we propose a Memory-Execute-Review framework. It consists of three parts: a hierarchical memory module for providing information support, an execute module for routine decision-making and actions, and a review module for handling abnormal situations and correcting behavior. We validated the effectiveness of this framework on the Object Goal Navigation task. Across 4 datasets, our average SR achieved absolute improvements of 7% and 5% compared to all baseline methods under TF and Zero-Shot (ZS) settings, respectively. On the most commonly used HM3D_v0.1 and the more challenging open vocabulary dataset HM3D_OVON, the SR improved by 8% and 6%, under ZS settings. Furthermore, on the MP3D and HM3D_OVON datasets, our method not only outperformed all TF methods but also surpassed all SFT methods, achieving comprehensive leadership in both SR (5% and 2%) and generalization.

Everything in Its Place: Benchmarking Spatial Intelligence of Text-to-Image ModelsZengbin Wang, Xuecai Hu, Yong Wang et al.
Text-to-image (T2I) models have achieved remarkable success in generating high-fidelity images, but they often fail in handling complex spatial relationships, e.g., spatial perception, reasoning, or interaction. These critical aspects are largely overlooked by current benchmarks due to their short or information-sparse prompt design. In this paper, we introduce SpatialGenEval, a new benchmark designed to systematically evaluate the spatial intelligence of T2I models, covering two key aspects: (1) SpatialGenEval involves 1,230 long, information-dense prompts across 25 real-world scenes. Each prompt integrates 10 spatial sub-domains and corresponding 10 multi-choice question-answer pairs, ranging from object position and layout to occlusion and causality. Our extensive evaluation of 21 state-of-the-art models reveals that higher-order spatial reasoning remains a primary bottleneck. (2) To demonstrate that the utility of our information-dense design goes beyond simple evaluation, we also construct the SpatialT2I dataset. It contains 15,400 text-image pairs with rewritten prompts to ensure image consistency while preserving information density. Fine-tuned results on current foundation models (i.e., Stable Diffusion-XL, Uniworld-V1, OmniGen2) yield consistent performance gains (+4.2%, +5.7%, +4.4%) and more realistic effects in spatial relations, highlighting a data-centric paradigm to achieve spatial intelligence in T2I models.

MVPainter: Accurate and Detailed 3D Texture Generation via Multi-View Diffusion with Geometric ControlMingqi Shao, Feng Xiong, Zhaoxu Sun et al.
Recently, significant advances have been made in 3D object generation. Building upon the generated geometry, current pipelines typically employ image diffusion models to generate multi-view RGB images, followed by UV texture reconstruction through texture baking. While 3D geometry generation has improved significantly, supported by multiple open-source frameworks, 3D texture generation remains underexplored. In this work, we systematically investigate 3D texture generation through the lens of three core dimensions: reference-texture alignment, geometry-texture consistency, and local texture quality. To tackle these issues, we propose MVPainter, which employs data filtering and augmentation strategies to enhance texture fidelity and detail, and introduces ControlNet-based geometric conditioning to improve texture-geometry alignment. Furthermore, we extract physically-based rendering (PBR) attributes from the generated views to produce PBR meshes suitable for real-world rendering applications. MVPainter achieves state-of-the-art results across all three dimensions, as demonstrated by human-aligned evaluations. To facilitate further research and reproducibility, we also release our full pipeline as an open-source system, including data construction, model architecture, and evaluation tools.

Why Users Go There: World Knowledge-Augmented Generative Next POI RecommendationQiuyu Ding, Heng-Da Xu, Wei Zhang et al.
Generative point-of-interest (POI) recommendation models based on large language models (LLMs) have shown promising results by formulating next POI prediction as a sequence generation task. However, the knowledge encoded in these models remains fixed after training, making them unable to perceive evolving real-world conditions that shape user mobility decisions, such as local events and cultural trends. To bridge this gap, we propose AWARE (Agent-based World knowledge Augmented REcommendation), which employs an LLM agent to generate location- and time-aware contextual narratives that capture regional cultural characteristics, seasonal trends, and ongoing events relevant to each user. Rather than introducing generic or noisy information, AWARE further anchors these narratives in each user's behavioral context, grounding external world knowledge in personalized spatial-temporal patterns. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate that AWARE consistently outperforms competitive baselines, achieving up to 12.4% relative improvement.

Learning Action Manifold with Multi-view Latent Priors for Robotic ManipulationJunjin Xiao, Dongyang Li, Yandan Yang et al.
This paper tackles spatial perception and manipulation challenges in Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. To address depth ambiguity from monocular input, we leverage a pre-trained multi-view diffusion model to synthesize latent novel views and propose a Geometry-Guided Gated Transformer (G3T) that aligns multi-view features under 3D geometric guidance while adaptively filtering occlusion noise. To improve action learning efficiency, we introduce Action Manifold Learning (AML), which directly predicts actions on the valid action manifold, bypassing inefficient regression of unstructured targets like noise or velocity. Experiments on LIBERO, RoboTwin 2.0, and real-robot tasks show our method achieves superior success rate and robustness over SOTA baselines. AdaCuRL: Adaptive Curriculum Reinforcement Learning with Invalid Sample Mitigation and Historical RevisitingRenda Li, Hailang Huang, Fei Wei et al.
Reinforcement learning (RL) has demonstrated considerable potential for enhancing reasoning in large language models (LLMs). However, existing methods suffer from Gradient Starvation and Policy Degradation when training directly on samples with mixed difficulty. To mitigate this, prior approaches leverage Chain-of-Thought (CoT) data, but the construction of high-quality CoT annotations remains labor-intensive. Alternatively, curriculum learning strategies have been explored but frequently encounter challenges, such as difficulty mismatch, reliance on manual curriculum design, and catastrophic forgetting. To address these issues, we propose AdaCuRL, a Adaptive Curriculum Reinforcement Learning framework that integrates coarse-to-fine difficulty estimation with adaptive curriculum scheduling. This approach dynamically aligns data difficulty with model capability and incorporates a data revisitation mechanism to mitigate catastrophic forgetting. Furthermore, AdaCuRL employs adaptive reference and sparse KL strategies to prevent Policy Degradation. Extensive experiments across diverse reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that AdaCuRL consistently achieves significant performance improvements on both LLMs and MLLMs.

ALAM: Algebraically Consistent Latent Transitions for Vision-Language-Action ModelsZuojin Tang, Haoyun Liu, Xinyuan Chang et al.
Vision-language-action (VLA) models remain constrained by the scarcity of action-labeled robot data, whereas action-free videos provide abundant evidence of how the physical world changes. Latent action models offer a promising way to extract such priors from videos, but reconstruction-trained latent codes are not necessarily suitable for policy generation: they may predict future observations while lacking the structure needed to be reused or generated coherently with robot actions. We introduce ALAM (Algebraic Latent Action Model), an Algebraically Consistent Latent Action Model that turns temporal relations in action-free video into structural supervision. Given frame triplets, ALAM learns latent transitions that are grounded by reconstruction while being regularized by composition and reversal consistency, encouraging a locally additive transition space. For downstream VLA learning, we freeze the pretrained encoder and use its latent transition sequences as auxiliary generative targets, co-generated with robot actions under a joint flow-matching objective. This couples structured latent transitions with flow-based policy generation, allowing the policy to exploit ALAM's locally consistent transition geometry without requiring latent-to-action decoding. Representation probes show that ALAM reduces additivity and reversibility errors by 25-85 times over unstructured latent-action baselines and improves long-horizon cumulative reconstruction. When transferred to VLA policies, ALAM raises the average success rate from 47.9% to 85.0% on MetaWorld MT50 and from 94.1% to 98.1% on LIBERO, with consistent gains on real-world manipulation tasks. Ablations further confirm that the strongest improvements arise from the synergy between algebraically structured latent transitions and joint flow matching.

Reasoning Over Space: Enabling Geographic Reasoning for LLM-Based Generative Next POI RecommendationDongyi Lv, Qiuyu Ding, Heng-Da Xu et al.
Generative recommendation with large language models (LLMs) reframes prediction as sequence generation, yet existing LLM-based recommenders remain limited in leveraging geographic signals that are crucial in mobility and local-services scenarios. Here, we present Reasoning Over Space (ROS), a framework that utilizes geography as a vital decision variable within the reasoning process. ROS introduces a Hierarchical Spatial Semantic ID (SID) that discretizes coarse-to-fine locality and POI semantics into compositional tokens, and endows LLM with a three-stage Mobility Chain-of-Thought (CoT) paradigm that models user personality, constructs an intent-aligned candidate space, and performs locality informed pruning. We further align the model with real world geography via spatial-guided Reinforcement Learning (RL). Experiments on three widely used location-based social network (LBSN) datasets show that ROS achieves over 10% relative gains in hit rate over strongest LLM-based baselines and improves cross-city transfer, despite using a smaller backbone model.

TwistNet-2D: Learning Second-Order Channel Interactions via Spiral Twisting for Texture RecognitionJunbo Jacob Lian, Feng Xiong, Yujun Sun et al.
Second-order feature statistics are central to texture recognition, yet current methods face a fundamental tension: bilinear pooling and Gram matrices capture global channel correlations but collapse spatial structure, while self-attention models spatial context through weighted aggregation rather than explicit pairwise feature interactions. We introduce TwistNet-2D, a lightweight module that computes \emph{local} pairwise channel products under directional spatial displacement, jointly encoding where features co-occur and how they interact. The core component, Spiral-Twisted Channel Interaction (STCI), shifts one feature map along a prescribed direction before element-wise channel multiplication, thereby capturing the cross-position co-occurrence patterns characteristic of structured and periodic textures. Aggregating four directional heads with learned channel reweighting and injecting the result through a sigmoid-gated residual path, \TwistNet incurs only 3.5% additional parameters and 2% additional FLOPs over ResNet-18, yet consistently surpasses both parameter-matched and substantially larger baselines -- including ConvNeXt, Swin Transformer, and hybrid CNN--Transformer architectures -- across four texture and fine-grained recognition benchmarks.

Visually-Guided Policy Optimization for Multimodal ReasoningZengbin Wang, Feng Xiong, Liang Lin et al.
Reinforcement learning with verifiable rewards (RLVR) has significantly advanced the reasoning ability of vision-language models (VLMs). However, the inherent text-dominated nature of VLMs often leads to insufficient visual faithfulness, characterized by sparse attention activation to visual tokens. More importantly, our empirical analysis reveals that temporal visual forgetting along reasoning steps exacerbates this deficiency. To bridge this gap, we propose Visually-Guided Policy Optimization (VGPO), a novel framework to reinforce visual focus during policy optimization. Specifically, VGPO initially introduces a Visual Attention Compensation mechanism that leverages visual similarity to localize and amplify visual cues, while progressively elevating visual expectations in later steps to counteract visual forgetting. Building on this mechanism, we implement a dual-grained advantage re-weighting strategy: the intra-trajectory level highlights tokens exhibiting relatively high visual activation, while the inter-trajectory level prioritizes trajectories demonstrating superior visual accumulation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that VGPO achieves better visual activation and superior performance in mathematical multimodal reasoning and visual-dependent tasks.

Whoever Started the Interference Should End It: Guiding Data-Free Model Merging via Task VectorsRunxi Cheng, Feng Xiong, Yongxian Wei et al.
Model merging seeks to integrate task-specific expert models into a unified architecture while preserving multi-task generalization capabilities, yet parameter interference between constituent models frequently induces performance degradation. Although prior work has explored many merging strategies, resolving interference without additional data for retraining or test-time computation remains challenging. In this paper, we theoretically demonstrate that the task vectors of the linear layer constitute an approximate linear subspace for its corresponding input. Therefore, we can minimize interference under the guidance of task vectors. Based on this insight, we propose \textbf{WUDI-Merging} (\textbf{W}hoever started the interference sho\textbf{U}ld en\textbf{D} \textbf{I}t), a simple yet effective model merging method that eliminates interference without any additional data or rescaling coefficients. Comprehensive empirical evaluations across vision and language benchmarks demonstrate our method's superiority, achieving state-of-the-art performance in data-free model merging scenarios (average 10.9\% improvement versus baseline methods) while even outperforming mainstream test-time adaptation approaches by 3.3\%, and only very few computing resources are required. JanusVLN: Decoupling Semantics and Spatiality with Dual Implicit Memory for Vision-Language NavigationShuang Zeng, Dekang Qi, Xinyuan Chang et al.
Vision-and-Language Navigation requires an embodied agent to navigate through unseen environments, guided by natural language instructions and a continuous video stream. Recent advances in VLN have been driven by the powerful semantic understanding of Multimodal Large Language Models. However, these methods typically rely on explicit semantic memory, such as building textual cognitive maps or storing historical visual frames. This type of method suffers from spatial information loss, computational redundancy, and memory bloat, which impede efficient navigation. Inspired by the implicit scene representation in human navigation, analogous to the left brain's semantic understanding and the right brain's spatial cognition, we propose JanusVLN, a novel VLN framework featuring a dual implicit neural memory that models spatial-geometric and visual-semantic memory as separate, compact, and fixed-size neural representations. This framework first extends the MLLM to incorporate 3D prior knowledge from the spatial-geometric encoder, thereby enhancing the spatial reasoning capabilities of models based solely on RGB input. Then, the historical key-value caches from the spatial-geometric and visual-semantic encoders are constructed into a dual implicit memory. By retaining only the KVs of tokens in the initial and sliding window, redundant computation is avoided, enabling efficient incremental updates. Extensive experiments demonstrate that JanusVLN outperforms over 20 recent methods to achieve SOTA performance. For example, the success rate improves by 10.5-35.5 compared to methods using multiple data types as input and by 3.6-10.8 compared to methods using more RGB training data. This indicates that the proposed dual implicit neural memory, as a novel paradigm, explores promising new directions for future VLN research. HumanRig: Learning Automatic Rigging for Humanoid Character in a Large Scale DatasetZedong Chu, Feng Xiong, Meiduo Liu et al.
With the rapid evolution of 3D generation algorithms, the cost of producing 3D humanoid character models has plummeted, yet the field is impeded by the lack of a comprehensive dataset for automatic rigging, which is a pivotal step in character animation. Addressing this gap, we present HumanRig, the first large-scale dataset specifically designed for 3D humanoid character rigging, encompassing 11,434 meticulously curated T-posed meshes adhered to a uniform skeleton topology. Capitalizing on this dataset, we introduce an innovative, data-driven automatic rigging framework, which overcomes the limitations of GNN-based methods in handling complex AI-generated meshes. Our approach integrates a Prior-Guided Skeleton Estimator (PGSE) module, which uses 2D skeleton joints to provide a preliminary 3D skeleton, and a Mesh-Skeleton Mutual Attention Network (MSMAN) that fuses skeleton features with 3D mesh features extracted by a U-shaped point transformer. This enables a coarse-to-fine 3D skeleton joint regression and a robust skinning estimation, surpassing previous methods in quality and versatility. This work not only remedies the dataset deficiency in rigging research but also propels the animation industry towards more efficient and automated character rigging pipelines.

Position Bias Mitigates Position Bias:Mitigate Position Bias Through Inter-Position Knowledge DistillationYifei Wang, Feng Xiong, Yong Wang et al.
Positional bias (PB), manifesting as non-uniform sensitivity across different contextual locations, significantly impairs long-context comprehension and processing capabilities. Previous studies have addressed PB either by modifying the underlying architectures or by employing extensive contextual awareness training. However, the former approach fails to effectively eliminate the substantial performance disparities, while the latter imposes significant data and computational overhead. To address PB effectively, we introduce \textbf{Pos2Distill}, a position to position knowledge distillation framework. Pos2Distill transfers the superior capabilities from advantageous positions to less favorable ones, thereby reducing the huge performance gaps. The conceptual principle is to leverage the inherent, position-induced disparity to counteract the PB itself. We identify distinct manifestations of PB under \textbf{\textsc{r}}etrieval and \textbf{\textsc{r}}easoning paradigms, thereby designing two specialized instantiations: \emph{Pos2Distill-R\textsuperscript{1}} and \emph{Pos2Distill-R\textsuperscript{2}} respectively, both grounded in this core principle. By employing the Pos2Distill approach, we achieve enhanced uniformity and significant performance gains across all contextual positions in long-context retrieval and reasoning tasks. Crucially, both specialized systems exhibit strong cross-task generalization mutually, while achieving superior performance on their respective tasks.

3D representation in 512-Byte:Variational tokenizer is the key for autoregressive 3D generationJinzhi Zhang, Feng Xiong, Mu Xu
Autoregressive transformers have revolutionized high-fidelity image generation. One crucial ingredient lies in the tokenizer, which compresses high-resolution image patches into manageable discrete tokens with a scanning or hierarchical order suitable for large language models. Extending these tokenizers to 3D generation, however, presents a significant challenge: unlike image patches that naturally exhibit spatial sequence and multi-scale relationships, 3D data lacks an inherent order, making it difficult to compress into fewer tokens while preserving structural details. To address this, we introduce the Variational Tokenizer (VAT), which transforms unordered 3D data into compact latent tokens with an implicit hierarchy, suited for efficient and high-fidelity coarse-to-fine autoregressive modeling. VAT begins with an in-context transformer, which compress numerous unordered 3D features into a reduced token set with minimal information loss. This latent space is then mapped to a Gaussian distribution for residual quantization, with token counts progressively increasing across scales. In this way, tokens at different scales naturally establish the interconnections by allocating themselves into different subspaces within the same Gaussian distribution, facilitating discrete modeling of token relationships across scales. During the decoding phase, a high-resolution triplane is utilized to convert these compact latent tokens into detailed 3D shapes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that VAT enables scalable and efficient 3D generation, outperforming existing methods in quality, efficiency, and generalization. Remarkably, VAT achieves up to a 250x compression, reducing a 1MB mesh to just 3.9KB with a 96% F-score, and can further compress to 256 int8 tokens, achieving a 2000x reduction while maintaining a 92% F-score.

Fine-tuning Large Language Models for Multigenerator, Multidomain, and Multilingual Machine-Generated Text DetectionFeng Xiong, Thanet Markchom, Ziwei Zheng et al.
SemEval-2024 Task 8 introduces the challenge of identifying machine-generated texts from diverse Large Language Models (LLMs) in various languages and domains. The task comprises three subtasks: binary classification in monolingual and multilingual (Subtask A), multi-class classification (Subtask B), and mixed text detection (Subtask C). This paper focuses on Subtask A & B. Each subtask is supported by three datasets for training, development, and testing. To tackle this task, two methods: 1) using traditional machine learning (ML) with natural language preprocessing (NLP) for feature extraction, and 2) fine-tuning LLMs for text classification. The results show that transformer models, particularly LoRA-RoBERTa, exceed traditional ML methods in effectiveness, with majority voting being particularly effective in multilingual contexts for identifying machine-generated texts.

ABot-M0: VLA Foundation Model for Robotic Manipulation with Action Manifold LearningYandan Yang, Shuang Zeng, Tong Lin et al.
Building general-purpose embodied agents across diverse hardware remains a central challenge in robotics, often framed as the ''one-brain, many-forms'' paradigm. Progress is hindered by fragmented data, inconsistent representations, and misaligned training objectives. We present ABot-M0, a framework that builds a systematic data curation pipeline while jointly optimizing model architecture and training strategies, enabling end-to-end transformation of heterogeneous raw data into unified, efficient representations. From six public datasets, we clean, standardize, and balance samples to construct UniACT-dataset, a large-scale dataset with over 6 million trajectories and 9,500 hours of data, covering diverse robot morphologies and task scenarios. Unified pre-training improves knowledge transfer and generalization across platforms and tasks, supporting general-purpose embodied intelligence. To improve action prediction efficiency and stability, we propose the Action Manifold Hypothesis: effective robot actions lie not in the full high-dimensional space but on a low-dimensional, smooth manifold governed by physical laws and task constraints. Based on this, we introduce Action Manifold Learning (AML), which uses a DiT backbone to predict clean, continuous action sequences directly. This shifts learning from denoising to projection onto feasible manifolds, improving decoding speed and policy stability. ABot-M0 supports modular perception via a dual-stream mechanism that integrates VLM semantics with geometric priors and multi-view inputs from plug-and-play 3D modules such as VGGT and Qwen-Image-Edit, enhancing spatial understanding without modifying the backbone and mitigating standard VLM limitations in 3D reasoning. Experiments show components operate independently with additive benefits. We will release all code and pipelines for reproducibility and future research.

AI-Empowered Human Research Integrating Brain Science and Social Sciences InsightsFeng Xiong, Xinguo Yu, Hon Wai Leong
This paper explores the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing scientific research, particularly in the fields of brain science and social sciences. We analyze the fundamental aspects of human research and argue that it is high time for researchers to transition to human-AI joint research. Building upon this foundation, we propose two innovative research paradigms of human-AI joint research: "AI-Brain Science Research Paradigm" and "AI-Social Sciences Research Paradigm". In these paradigms, we introduce three human-AI collaboration models: AI as a research tool (ART), AI as a research assistant (ARA), and AI as a research participant (ARP). Furthermore, we outline the methods for conducting human-AI joint research. This paper seeks to redefine the collaborative interactions between human researchers and AI system, setting the stage for future research directions and sparking innovation in this interdisciplinary field.

Active Zero: Self-Evolving Vision-Language Models through Active Environment ExplorationJinghan He, Junfeng Fang, Feng Xiong et al.
Self-play has enabled large language models to autonomously improve through self-generated challenges. However, existing self-play methods for vision-language models rely on passive interaction with static image collections, resulting in strong dependence on initial datasets and inefficient learning. Without the ability to actively seek visual data tailored to their evolving capabilities, agents waste computational effort on samples that are either trivial or beyond their current skill level. To address these limitations, we propose Active-Zero, a framework that shifts from passive interaction to active exploration of visual environments. Active-Zero employs three co-evolving agents: a Searcher that retrieves images from open-world repositories based on the model's capability frontier, a Questioner that synthesizes calibrated reasoning tasks, and a Solver refined through accuracy rewards. This closed loop enables self-scaffolding auto-curricula where the model autonomously constructs its learning trajectory. On Qwen2.5-VL-7B-Instruct across 12 benchmarks, Active-Zero achieves 53.97 average accuracy on reasoning tasks (5.7% improvement) and 59.77 on general understanding (3.9% improvement), consistently outperforming existing self-play baselines. These results highlight active exploration as a key ingredient for scalable and adaptive self-evolving vision-language systems.

Seeing Space and Motion: Enhancing Latent Actions with Spatial and Dynamic Awareness for VLAZhejia Cai, Yandan Yang, Xinyuan Chang et al.
Latent Action Models (LAMs) enable Vision-Language-Action (VLA) systems to learn semantic action representations from large-scale unannotated data. Yet, we identify two bottlenecks of LAMs: 1) the commonly adopted end-to-end trained image encoder suffers from poor spatial understanding; 2) LAMs can be fragile when input frames are distant, leading to limited temporal perception. Such factors inevitably hinder stable and clear action modeling. To this end, we propose Farsighted-LAM, a latent action framework with geometry-aware spatial encoding and multi-scale temporal modeling, capturing structural priors and dynamic motion patterns from consecutive frames. We further propose SSM-VLA, an end-to-end VLA framework built upon Farsighted-LAM, which integrates structured perception with a visual Chain-of-Thought module to explicitly reason about environmental dynamics, enhancing decision consistency and interpretability. We validate SSM-VLA on multiple VLA tasks in both simulation and real-world settings, and achieve state-of-the-art performance. Our results demonstrate that our strategy of combining geometry-aware modeling, temporal coherence, and explicit reasoning is effective in enhancing the robustness and generalizability of embodied intelligence.

Global-guided Focal Neural Radiance Field for Large-scale Scene RenderingMingqi Shao, Feng Xiong, Hang Zhang et al.
Neural radiance fields~(NeRF) have recently been applied to render large-scale scenes. However, their limited model capacity typically results in blurred rendering results. Existing large-scale NeRFs primarily address this limitation by partitioning the scene into blocks, which are subsequently handled by separate sub-NeRFs. These sub-NeRFs, trained from scratch and processed independently, lead to inconsistencies in geometry and appearance across the scene. Consequently, the rendering quality fails to exhibit significant improvement despite the expansion of model capacity. In this work, we present global-guided focal neural radiance field (GF-NeRF) that achieves high-fidelity rendering of large-scale scenes. Our proposed GF-NeRF utilizes a two-stage (Global and Focal) architecture and a global-guided training strategy. The global stage obtains a continuous representation of the entire scene while the focal stage decomposes the scene into multiple blocks and further processes them with distinct sub-encoders. Leveraging this two-stage architecture, sub-encoders only need fine-tuning based on the global encoder, thus reducing training complexity in the focal stage while maintaining scene-wide consistency. Spatial information and error information from the global stage also benefit the sub-encoders to focus on crucial areas and effectively capture more details of large-scale scenes. Notably, our approach does not rely on any prior knowledge about the target scene, attributing GF-NeRF adaptable to various large-scale scene types, including street-view and aerial-view scenes. Double Anchor R-CNN for Human Detection in a CrowdKevin Zhang, Feng Xiong, Peize Sun et al.
Detecting human in a crowd is a challenging problem due to the uncertainties of occlusion patterns. In this paper, we propose to handle the crowd occlusion problem in human detection by leveraging the head part. Double Anchor RPN is developed to capture body and head parts in pairs. A proposal crossover strategy is introduced to generate high-quality proposals for both parts as a training augmentation. Features of coupled proposals are then aggregated efficiently to exploit the inherent relationship. Finally, a Joint NMS module is developed for robust post-processing. The proposed framework, called Double Anchor R-CNN, is able to detect the body and head for each person simultaneously in crowded scenarios. State-of-the-art results are reported on challenging human detection datasets. Our model yields log-average miss rates (MR) of 51.79pp on CrowdHuman, 55.01pp on COCOPersons~(crowded sub-dataset) and 40.02pp on CrowdPose~(crowded sub-dataset), which outperforms previous baseline detectors by 3.57pp, 3.82pp, and 4.24pp, respectively. We hope our simple and effective approach will serve as a solid baseline and help ease future research in crowded human detection.

Real-time and open online course resources of MOOCs have attracted a large number of learners in recent years. However, many new questions were emerging about the high dropout rate of learners. For MOOCs platform, predicting the learning status of MOOCs learners in real time with high accuracy is the crucial task, and it also help improve the quality of MOOCs teaching. The prediction task in this paper is inherently a time series prediction problem, and can be treated as time series classification problem, hence this paper proposed a prediction model based on RNNLSTMs and optimization techniques which can be used to predict learners' learning status. Using datasets provided by Chinese University MOOCs as the inputs of model, the average accuracy of model's outputs was about 90%.

Spatiotemporal Modeling for Crowd Counting in VideosFeng Xiong, Xingjian Shi, Dit-Yan Yeung
Region of Interest (ROI) crowd counting can be formulated as a regression problem of learning a mapping from an image or a video frame to a crowd density map. Recently, convolutional neural network (CNN) models have achieved promising results for crowd counting. However, even when dealing with video data, CNN-based methods still consider each video frame independently, ignoring the strong temporal correlation between neighboring frames. To exploit the otherwise very useful temporal information in video sequences, we propose a variant of a recent deep learning model called convolutional LSTM (ConvLSTM) for crowd counting. Unlike the previous CNN-based methods, our method fully captures both spatial and temporal dependencies. Furthermore, we extend the ConvLSTM model to a bidirectional ConvLSTM model which can access long-range information in both directions. Extensive experiments using four publicly available datasets demonstrate the reliability of our approach and the effectiveness of incorporating temporal information to boost the accuracy of crowd counting. In addition, we also conduct some transfer learning experiments to show that once our model is trained on one dataset, its learning experience can be transferred easily to a new dataset which consists of only very few video frames for model adaptation.
