Werewolf Among Us: A Multimodal Dataset for Modeling Persuasion Behaviors in Social Deduction Games

Persuasion modeling is a key building block for conversational agents. Existing works in this direction are limited to analyzing textual dialogue corpus. We argue that visual signals also play an important role in understanding human persuasive behaviors. In this paper, we introduce the first multimodal dataset for modeling persuasion behaviors. Our dataset includes 199 dialogue transcriptions and videos captured in a multi-player social deduction game setting, 26,647 utterance level annotations of persuasion strategy, and game level annotations of deduction game outcomes. We provide extensive experiments to show how dialogue context and visual signals benefit persuasion strategy prediction. We also explore the generalization ability of language models for persuasion modeling and the role of persuasion strategies in predicting social deduction game outcomes. Leveraging Object Priors for Point Tracking

Point tracking is a fundamental problem in computer vision with numerous applications in AR and robotics. A common failure mode in long-term point tracking occurs when the predicted point leaves the object it belongs to and lands on the background or another object. We identify this as the failure to correctly capture objectness properties in learning to track. To address this limitation of prior work, we propose a novel objectness regularization approach that guides points to be aware of object priors by forcing them to stay inside the the boundaries of object instances. By capturing objectness cues at training time, we avoid the need to compute object masks during testing. In addition, we leverage contextual attention to enhance the feature representation for capturing objectness at the feature level more effectively. As a result, our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance on three point tracking benchmarks, and we further validate the effectiveness of our components via ablation studies. IAM: Identity-Aware Human Motion and Shape Joint Generation

Recent advances in text-driven human motion generation enable models to synthesize realistic motion sequences from natural language descriptions. However, most existing approaches assume identity-neutral motion and generate movements using a canonical body representation, ignoring the strong influence of body morphology on motion dynamics. In practice, attributes such as body proportions, mass distribution, and age significantly affect how actions are performed, and neglecting this coupling often leads to physically inconsistent motions. We propose an identity-aware motion generation framework that explicitly models the relationship between body morphology and motion dynamics. Instead of relying on explicit geometric measurements, identity is represented using multimodal signals, including natural language descriptions and visual cues. We further introduce a joint motion-shape generation paradigm that simultaneously synthesizes motion sequences and body shape parameters, allowing identity cues to directly modulate motion dynamics. Extensive experiments on motion capture datasets and large-scale in-the-wild videos demonstrate improved motion realism and motion-identity consistency while maintaining high motion quality. EgoForge: Goal-Directed Egocentric World Simulator

Generative world models have shown promise for simulating dynamic environments, yet egocentric video remains challenging due to rapid viewpoint changes, frequent hand-object interactions, and goal-directed procedures whose evolution depends on latent human intent. Existing approaches either focus on hand-centric instructional synthesis with limited scene evolution, perform static view translation without modeling action dynamics, or rely on dense supervision, such as camera trajectories, long video prefixes, synchronized multicamera capture, etc. In this work, we introduce EgoForge, an egocentric goal-directed world simulator that generates coherent, first-person video rollouts from minimal static inputs: a single egocentric image, a high-level instruction, and an optional auxiliary exocentric view. To improve intent alignment and temporal consistency, we propose VideoDiffusionNFT, a trajectory-level reward-guided refinement that optimizes goal completion, temporal causality, scene consistency, and perceptual fidelity during diffusion sampling. Extensive experiments show EgoForge achieves consistent gains in semantic alignment, geometric stability, and motion fidelity over strong baselines, and robust performance in real-world smart-glasses experiments.

NeurLZ: An Online Neural Learning-Based Method to Enhance Scientific Lossy Compression

Large-scale scientific simulations generate massive datasets, posing challenges for storage and I/O. Traditional lossy compression struggles to advance more in balancing compression ratio, data quality, and adaptability to diverse scientific data features. While deep learning-based solutions have been explored, their common practice of relying on large models and offline training limits adaptability to dynamic data characteristics and computational efficiency. To address these challenges, we propose NeurLZ, a neural method designed to enhance lossy compression by integrating online learning, cross-field learning, and robust error regulation. Key innovations of NeurLZ include: (1) compression-time online neural learning with lightweight skipping DNN models, adapting to residual errors without costly offline pertaining, (2) the error-mitigating capability, recovering fine details from compression errors overlooked by conventional compressors, (3) $1\times$ and $2\times$ error-regulation modes, ensuring strict adherence to $1\times$ user-input error bounds strictly or relaxed 2$\times$ bounds for better overall quality, and (4) cross-field learning leveraging inter-field correlations in scientific data to improve conventional methods. Comprehensive evaluations on representative HPC datasets, e.g., Nyx, Miranda, Hurricane, against state-of-the-art compressors show NeurLZ's effectiveness. During the first five learning epochs, NeurLZ achieves an 89% bit rate reduction, with further optimization yielding up to around 94% reduction at equivalent distortion, significantly outperforming existing methods, demonstrating NeurLZ's superior performance in enhancing scientific lossy compression as a scalable and efficient solution.

MoE-I$^2$: Compressing Mixture of Experts Models through Inter-Expert Pruning and Intra-Expert Low-Rank Decomposition

The emergence of Mixture of Experts (MoE) LLMs has significantly advanced the development of language models. Compared to traditional LLMs, MoE LLMs outperform traditional LLMs by achieving higher performance with considerably fewer activated parameters. Despite this efficiency, their enormous parameter size still leads to high deployment costs. In this paper, we introduce a two-stage compression method tailored for MoE to reduce the model size and decrease the computational cost. First, in the inter-expert pruning stage, we analyze the importance of each layer and propose the Layer-wise Genetic Search and Block-wise KT-Reception Field with the non-uniform pruning ratio to prune the individual expert. Second, in the intra-expert decomposition stage, we apply the low-rank decomposition to further compress the parameters within the remaining experts. Extensive experiments on Qwen1.5-MoE-A2.7B, DeepSeek-V2-Lite, and Mixtral-8$\times$7B demonstrate that our proposed methods can both reduce the model size and enhance inference efficiency while maintaining performance in various zero-shot tasks. SocialGesture: Delving into Multi-person Gesture Understanding

Previous research in human gesture recognition has largely overlooked multi-person interactions, which are crucial for understanding the social context of naturally occurring gestures. This limitation in existing datasets presents a significant challenge in aligning human gestures with other modalities like language and speech. To address this issue, we introduce SocialGesture, the first large-scale dataset specifically designed for multi-person gesture analysis. SocialGesture features a diverse range of natural scenarios and supports multiple gesture analysis tasks, including video-based recognition and temporal localization, providing a valuable resource for advancing the study of gesture during complex social interactions. Furthermore, we propose a novel visual question answering (VQA) task to benchmark vision language models'(VLMs) performance on social gesture understanding. Our findings highlight several limitations of current gesture recognition models, offering insights into future directions for improvement in this field. Enhancing Lossy Compression Through Cross-Field Information for Scientific Applications

Lossy compression is one of the most effective methods for reducing the size of scientific data containing multiple data fields. It reduces information density through prediction or transformation techniques to compress the data. Previous approaches use local information from a single target field when predicting target data points, limiting their potential to achieve higher compression ratios. In this paper, we identified significant cross-field correlations within scientific datasets. We propose a novel hybrid prediction model that utilizes CNN to extract cross-field information and combine it with existing local field information. Our solution enhances the prediction accuracy of lossy compressors, leading to improved compression ratios without compromising data quality. We evaluate our solution on three scientific datasets, demonstrating its ability to improve compression ratios by up to 25% under specific error bounds. Additionally, our solution preserves more data details and reduces artifacts compared to baseline approaches.

Generative Adversarial Network for Future Hand Segmentation from Egocentric Video

We introduce the novel problem of anticipating a time series of future hand masks from egocentric video. A key challenge is to model the stochasticity of future head motions, which globally impact the head-worn camera video analysis. To this end, we propose a novel deep generative model -- EgoGAN, which uses a 3D Fully Convolutional Network to learn a spatio-temporal video representation for pixel-wise visual anticipation, generates future head motion using Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), and then predicts the future hand masks based on the video representation and the generated future head motion. We evaluate our method on both the EPIC-Kitchens and the EGTEA Gaze+ datasets. We conduct detailed ablation studies to validate the design choices of our approach. Furthermore, we compare our method with previous state-of-the-art methods on future image segmentation and show that our method can more accurately predict future hand masks.

The Audio-Visual Conversational Graph: From an Egocentric-Exocentric Perspective

In recent years, the thriving development of research related to egocentric videos has provided a unique perspective for the study of conversational interactions, where both visual and audio signals play a crucial role. While most prior work focus on learning about behaviors that directly involve the camera wearer, we introduce the Ego-Exocentric Conversational Graph Prediction problem, marking the first attempt to infer exocentric conversational interactions from egocentric videos. We propose a unified multi-modal framework -- Audio-Visual Conversational Attention (AV-CONV), for the joint prediction of conversation behaviors -- speaking and listening -- for both the camera wearer as well as all other social partners present in the egocentric video. Specifically, we adopt the self-attention mechanism to model the representations across-time, across-subjects, and across-modalities. To validate our method, we conduct experiments on a challenging egocentric video dataset that includes multi-speaker and multi-conversation scenarios. Our results demonstrate the superior performance of our method compared to a series of baselines. We also present detailed ablation studies to assess the contribution of each component in our model. GaussianSpa: An "Optimizing-Sparsifying" Simplification Framework for Compact and High-Quality 3D Gaussian Splatting

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as a mainstream for novel view synthesis, leveraging continuous aggregations of Gaussian functions to model scene geometry. However, 3DGS suffers from substantial memory requirements to store the multitude of Gaussians, hindering its practicality. To address this challenge, we introduce GaussianSpa, an optimization-based simplification framework for compact and high-quality 3DGS. Specifically, we formulate the simplification as an optimization problem associated with the 3DGS training. Correspondingly, we propose an efficient "optimizing-sparsifying" solution that alternately solves two independent sub-problems, gradually imposing strong sparsity onto the Gaussians in the training process. Our comprehensive evaluations on various datasets show the superiority of GaussianSpa over existing state-of-the-art approaches. Notably, GaussianSpa achieves an average PSNR improvement of 0.9 dB on the real-world Deep Blending dataset with 10$\times$ fewer Gaussians compared to the vanilla 3DGS. GWLZ: A Group-wise Learning-based Lossy Compression Framework for Scientific Data

The rapid expansion of computational capabilities and the ever-growing scale of modern HPC systems present formidable challenges in managing exascale scientific data. Faced with such vast datasets, traditional lossless compression techniques prove insufficient in reducing data size to a manageable level while preserving all information intact. In response, researchers have turned to error-bounded lossy compression methods, which offer a balance between data size reduction and information retention. However, despite their utility, these compressors employing conventional techniques struggle with limited reconstruction quality. To address this issue, we draw inspiration from recent advancements in deep learning and propose GWLZ, a novel group-wise learning-based lossy compression framework with multiple lightweight learnable enhancer models. Leveraging a group of neural networks, GWLZ significantly enhances the decompressed data reconstruction quality with negligible impact on the compression efficiency. Experimental results on different fields from the Nyx dataset demonstrate remarkable improvements by GWLZ, achieving up to 20% quality enhancements with negligible overhead as low as 0.0003x.

AdaRing: Towards Ultra-Light Vision-Language Adaptation via Cross-Layer Tensor Ring Decomposition

Adapter-based fine-tuning has gained remarkable attention in adapting large pre-trained vision language models (VLMs) for a wide range of downstream tasks efficiently. In this paradigm, only the inserted adapters are fine-tuned, without the need for training the original VLM backbone. Existing works scale adapters by integrating them into every layer of VLMs to increase the capacity of adapters. However, these methods face two primary limitations: 1) limited compression rate due to ignoring cross-layer redundancy, and 2) limited representational capacity across homogeneous adapters. In this paper, we propose a novel vision-language fine-tuning framework based on cross-layer tensor ring decomposition (TRD) with the integration and collaboration of diverse adapters, called AdaRing, achieving ultra-light parameter-efficient adaptation of VLMs on various tasks. To remove the high redundancy that exists among adapters across layers, we exploit the tensor-level low-rankness to formulate adapters as layer-shared tensor cores and layer-specific slices. Moreover, guided by generalization-aware fine-tuning, diverse rank-driven adapters cooperate to handle tasks that require different representations. Our experiments show that the proposed AdaRing achieves the state-of-the-art performance while reducing average training parameters by 90%.

Learning Predictive Visuomotor Coordination

Understanding and predicting human visuomotor coordination is crucial for applications in robotics, human-computer interaction, and assistive technologies. This work introduces a forecasting-based task for visuomotor modeling, where the goal is to predict head pose, gaze, and upper-body motion from egocentric visual and kinematic observations. We propose a \textit{Visuomotor Coordination Representation} (VCR) that learns structured temporal dependencies across these multimodal signals. We extend a diffusion-based motion modeling framework that integrates egocentric vision and kinematic sequences, enabling temporally coherent and accurate visuomotor predictions. Our approach is evaluated on the large-scale EgoExo4D dataset, demonstrating strong generalization across diverse real-world activities. Our results highlight the importance of multimodal integration in understanding visuomotor coordination, contributing to research in visuomotor learning and human behavior modeling.

Listen to Look into the Future: Audio-Visual Egocentric Gaze Anticipation

Egocentric gaze anticipation serves as a key building block for the emerging capability of Augmented Reality. Notably, gaze behavior is driven by both visual cues and audio signals during daily activities. Motivated by this observation, we introduce the first model that leverages both the video and audio modalities for egocentric gaze anticipation. Specifically, we propose a Contrastive Spatial-Temporal Separable (CSTS) fusion approach that adopts two modules to separately capture audio-visual correlations in spatial and temporal dimensions, and applies a contrastive loss on the re-weighted audio-visual features from fusion modules for representation learning. We conduct extensive ablation studies and thorough analysis using two egocentric video datasets: Ego4D and Aria, to validate our model design. We demonstrate the audio improves the performance by +2.5% and +2.4% on the two datasets. Our model also outperforms the prior state-of-the-art methods by at least +1.9% and +1.6%. Moreover, we provide visualizations to show the gaze anticipation results and provide additional insights into audio-visual representation learning. Ego4D: Around the World in 3,000 Hours of Egocentric Video

We introduce Ego4D, a massive-scale egocentric video dataset and benchmark suite. It offers 3,670 hours of daily-life activity video spanning hundreds of scenarios (household, outdoor, workplace, leisure, etc.) captured by 931 unique camera wearers from 74 worldwide locations and 9 different countries. The approach to collection is designed to uphold rigorous privacy and ethics standards with consenting participants and robust de-identification procedures where relevant. Ego4D dramatically expands the volume of diverse egocentric video footage publicly available to the research community. Portions of the video are accompanied by audio, 3D meshes of the environment, eye gaze, stereo, and/or synchronized videos from multiple egocentric cameras at the same event. Furthermore, we present a host of new benchmark challenges centered around understanding the first-person visual experience in the past (querying an episodic memory), present (analyzing hand-object manipulation, audio-visual conversation, and social interactions), and future (forecasting activities). By publicly sharing this massive annotated dataset and benchmark suite, we aim to push the frontier of first-person perception. Project page: https://ego4d-data.org/
