AffectAgent: Collaborative Multi-Agent Reasoning for Retrieval-Augmented Multimodal Emotion Recognition

LLM-based multimodal emotion recognition relies on static parametric memory and often hallucinates when interpreting nuanced affective states. In this paper, given that single-round retrieval-augmented generation is highly susceptible to modal ambiguity and therefore struggles to capture complex affective dependencies across modalities, we introduce AffectAgent, an affect-oriented multi-agent retrieval-augmented generation framework that leverages collaborative decision-making among agents for fine-grained affective understanding. Specifically, AffectAgent comprises three jointly optimized specialized agents, namely a query planner, an evidence filter, and an emotion generator, which collaboratively perform analytical reasoning to retrieve cross-modal samples, assess evidence, and generate predictions. These agents are optimized end-to-end using Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimization (MAPPO) with a shared affective reward to ensure consistent emotion understanding. Furthermore, we introduce Modality-Balancing Mixture of Experts (MB-MoE) and Retrieval-Augmented Adaptive Fusion (RAAF), where MB-MoE dynamically regulates the contributions of different modalities to mitigate representation mismatch caused by cross-modal heterogeneity, while RAAF enhances semantic completion under missing-modality conditions by incorporating retrieved audiovisual embeddings. Extensive experiments on MER-UniBench demonstrate that AffectAgent achieves superior performance across complex scenarios. Our code will be released at: https://github.com/Wz1h1NG/AffectAgent.

TC-GS: Tri-plane based compression for 3D Gaussian Splatting

Recently, 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as a prominent framework for novel view synthesis, providing high fidelity and rapid rendering speed. However, the substantial data volume of 3DGS and its attributes impede its practical utility, requiring compression techniques for reducing memory cost. Nevertheless, the unorganized shape of 3DGS leads to difficulties in compression. To formulate unstructured attributes into normative distribution, we propose a well-structured tri-plane to encode Gaussian attributes, leveraging the distribution of attributes for compression. To exploit the correlations among adjacent Gaussians, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) is used when decoding Gaussian distribution from the Tri-plane. We also introduce Gaussian position information as a prior of the position-sensitive decoder. Additionally, we incorporate an adaptive wavelet loss, aiming to focus on the high-frequency details as iterations increase. Our approach has achieved results that are comparable to or surpass that of SOTA 3D Gaussians Splatting compression work in extensive experiments across multiple datasets. State-dependent temperature control in Langevin diffusions using numerical exploratory Hamiltonian-Jacobi-Bellman equations

Choosing how much noise to add in Langevin dynamics is essential for making these algorithms effective in challenging optimization problems. One promising approach is to determine this noise by solving Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equations and their exploratory variants. Though these ideas have been demonstrated to work well in one dimension, extension to high-dimensional minimization has been limited by two unresolved numerical challenges: setting reliable control bounds and stably computing the second-order information (Hessians) required by the equations. These issues and the broader impact of HJB parameters have not been systematically examined. This work provides the first such investigation. We introduce principled control bounds and develop a physics-informed neural network framework that embeds the structure of exploratory HJB equations directly into training, stabilizing computation, and enabling accurate estimation of state-dependent noise in high-dimensional problems. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the resulting method remains robust and effective well beyond low-dimensional test cases.

Two-scale Neural Networks for Singularly Perturbed Dynamical Systems with Multiple Parameters

We extend our two-scale neural-network method for scalar singularly perturbed problems with one small parameter to dynamical systems with multiple small parameters. To accommodate multiple small parameters, we use a single effective scale parameter defined as the geometric mean of all parameters. We thus augment the network input with a scale-aware feature, enabling it to capture sharp solution transitions intrinsically. Numerical experiments across a range of dynamical systems demonstrate that the proposed framework can handle coupled systems with multiple and high-contrast small parameters and obtain satisfactory accuracy in capturing solution features induced by small parameters.

SVC 2025: the First Multimodal Deception Detection Challenge

Deception detection is a critical task in real-world applications such as security screening, fraud prevention, and credibility assessment. While deep learning methods have shown promise in surpassing human-level performance, their effectiveness often depends on the availability of high-quality and diverse deception samples. Existing research predominantly focuses on single-domain scenarios, overlooking the significant performance degradation caused by domain shifts. To address this gap, we present the SVC 2025 Multimodal Deception Detection Challenge, a new benchmark designed to evaluate cross-domain generalization in audio-visual deception detection. Participants are required to develop models that not only perform well within individual domains but also generalize across multiple heterogeneous datasets. By leveraging multimodal data, including audio, video, and text, this challenge encourages the design of models capable of capturing subtle and implicit deceptive cues. Through this benchmark, we aim to foster the development of more adaptable, explainable, and practically deployable deception detection systems, advancing the broader field of multimodal learning. SVC 2026: the Second Multimodal Deception Detection Challenge and the First Domain Generalized Remote Physiological Measurement Challenge

Subtle visual signals, although difficult to perceive with the naked eye, contain important information that can reveal hidden patterns in visual data. These signals play a key role in many applications, including biometric security, multimedia forensics, medical diagnosis, industrial inspection, and affective computing. With the rapid development of computer vision and representation learning techniques, detecting and interpreting such subtle signals has become an emerging research direction. However, existing studies often focus on specific tasks or modalities, and models still face challenges in robustness, representation ability, and generalization when handling subtle and weak signals in real-world environments. To promote research in this area, we organize the Subtle visual Challenge, which aims to learn robust representations for subtle visual signals. The challenge includes two tasks: cross-domain multimodal deception detection and remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) estimation. We hope that this challenge will encourage the development of more robust and generalizable models for subtle visual understanding, and further advance research in computer vision and multimodal learning.
