SIRI: Self-Internalizing Reinforcement Learning with Intrinsic Skills for LLM Agent TrainingZhongyu He, Yuanfan Li, Fei Huang et al.
Long-horizon LLM agents can benefit from reusable skills, yet existing skill-based methods often rely on external skill generators during training or persistent skill retrieval at inference, increasing engineering complexity, context length, and deployment latency. We propose Self-Internalizing Reinforcement learning with Intrinsic skills (SIRI), a three-phase framework that enables agents to discover, validate, and internalize skills without external skill generators or inference-time skill banks. SIRI first warms up the policy with GiGPO to acquire basic interaction ability and collect successful skill-free trajectories. It then performs self-skill mining, where the current policy summarizes compact skills from its own successful plain rollouts and validates them through paired skill-augmented and skill-free rollouts. Finally, SIRI distills only beneficial skill-guided action tokens into the plain policy using trajectory-level utility and action-level advantage. At inference, the agent runs with the original prompt only. On ALFWorld and WebShop with Qwen2.5-7B-Instruct, SIRI improves GiGPO from 0.908 to 0.930 on ALFWorld and from 0.728 to 0.813 on WebShop, outperforming prompt-based, RL-based, and memory-augmented baselines. Further analysis shows that our self-mining strategy can achieve performance comparable to distillation with closed-source large model. Our code is available at https://github.com/kirito618/SIRI.

DifFSS: Diffusion Model for Few-Shot Semantic SegmentationWeimin Tan, Siyuan Chen, Bo Yan
Diffusion models have demonstrated excellent performance in image generation. Although various few-shot semantic segmentation (FSS) models with different network structures have been proposed, performance improvement has reached a bottleneck. This paper presents the first work to leverage the diffusion model for FSS task, called DifFSS. DifFSS, a novel FSS paradigm, can further improve the performance of the state-of-the-art FSS models by a large margin without modifying their network structure. Specifically, we utilize the powerful generation ability of diffusion models to generate diverse auxiliary support images by using the semantic mask, scribble or soft HED boundary of the support image as control conditions. This generation process simulates the variety within the class of the query image, such as color, texture variation, lighting, $etc$. As a result, FSS models can refer to more diverse support images, yielding more robust representations, thereby achieving a consistent improvement in segmentation performance. Extensive experiments on three publicly available datasets based on existing advanced FSS models demonstrate the effectiveness of the diffusion model for FSS task. Furthermore, we explore in detail the impact of different input settings of the diffusion model on segmentation performance. DR-WLC: Dimensionality Reduction cognition for object detection and pose estimation by Watching, Learning and CheckingYu Gao, Xi Xu, Tianji Jiang et al.
Object detection and pose estimation are difficult tasks in robotics and autonomous driving. Existing object detection and pose estimation methods mostly adopt the same-dimensional data for training. For example, 2D object detection usually requires a large amount of 2D annotation data with high cost. Using high-dimensional information to supervise lower-dimensional tasks is a feasible way to reduce datasets size. In this work, the DR-WLC, a dimensionality reduction cognitive model, which can perform both object detection and pose estimation tasks at the same time is proposed. The model only requires 3D model of objects and unlabeled environment images (with or without objects) to finish the training. In addition, a bounding boxes generation strategy is also proposed to build the relationship between 3D model and 2D object detection task. Experiments show that our method can qualify the work without any manual annotations and it is easy to deploy for practical applications. Source code is at https://github.com/IN2-ViAUn/DR-WLC.

ED-Batch: Efficient Automatic Batching of Dynamic Neural Networks via Learned Finite State MachinesSiyuan Chen, Pratik Fegade, Tianqi Chen et al.
Batching has a fundamental influence on the efficiency of deep neural network (DNN) execution. However, for dynamic DNNs, efficient batching is particularly challenging as the dataflow graph varies per input instance. As a result, state-of-the-art frameworks use heuristics that result in suboptimal batching decisions. Further, batching puts strict restrictions on memory adjacency and can lead to high data movement costs. In this paper, we provide an approach for batching dynamic DNNs based on finite state machines, which enables the automatic discovery of batching policies specialized for each DNN via reinforcement learning. Moreover, we find that memory planning that is aware of the batching policy can save significant data movement overheads, which is automated by a PQ tree-based algorithm we introduce. Experimental results show that our framework speeds up state-of-the-art frameworks by on average 1.15x, 1.39x, and 2.45x for chain-based, tree-based, and lattice-based DNNs across CPU and GPU.

Symptom Identification for Interpretable Detection of Multiple Mental DisordersZhiling Zhang, Siyuan Chen, Mengyue Wu et al.
Mental disease detection (MDD) from social media has suffered from poor generalizability and interpretability, due to lack of symptom modeling. This paper introduces PsySym, the first annotated symptom identification corpus of multiple psychiatric disorders, to facilitate further research progress. PsySym is annotated according to a knowledge graph of the 38 symptom classes related to 7 mental diseases complied from established clinical manuals and scales, and a novel annotation framework for diversity and quality. Experiments show that symptom-assisted MDD enabled by PsySym can outperform strong pure-text baselines. We also exhibit the convincing MDD explanations provided by symptom predictions with case studies, and point to their further potential applications.

Psychiatric Scale Guided Risky Post Screening for Early Detection of DepressionZhiling Zhang, Siyuan Chen, Mengyue Wu et al.
Depression is a prominent health challenge to the world, and early risk detection (ERD) of depression from online posts can be a promising technique for combating the threat. Early depression detection faces the challenge of efficiently tackling streaming data, balancing the tradeoff between timeliness, accuracy and explainability. To tackle these challenges, we propose a psychiatric scale guided risky post screening method that can capture risky posts related to the dimensions defined in clinical depression scales, and providing interpretable diagnostic basis. A Hierarchical Attentional Network equipped with BERT (HAN-BERT) is proposed to further advance explainable predictions. For ERD, we propose an online algorithm based on an evolving queue of risky posts that can significantly reduce the number of model inferences to boost efficiency. Experiments show that our method outperforms the competitive feature-based and neural models under conventional depression detection settings, and achieves simultaneous improvement in both efficacy and efficiency for ERD.

Factorized Neural Implicit DMD for Parametric DynamicsSiyuan Chen, Zhecheng Wang, Yixin Chen et al.
A data-driven, model-free approach to modeling the temporal evolution of physical systems mitigates the need for explicit knowledge of the governing equations. Even when physical priors such as partial differential equations are available, such systems often reside in high-dimensional state spaces and exhibit nonlinear dynamics, making traditional numerical solvers computationally expensive and ill-suited for real-time analysis and control. Consider the problem of learning a parametric flow of a dynamical system: with an initial field and a set of physical parameters, we aim to predict the system's evolution over time in a way that supports long-horizon rollouts, generalization to unseen parameters, and spectral analysis. We propose a physics-coded neural field parameterization of the Koopman operator's spectral decomposition. Unlike a physics-constrained neural field, which fits a single solution surface, and neural operators, which directly approximate the solution operator at fixed time horizons, our model learns a factorized flow operator that decouples spatial modes and temporal evolution. This structure exposes underlying eigenvalues, modes, and stability of the underlying physical process to enable stable long-term rollouts, interpolation across parameter spaces, and spectral analysis. We demonstrate the efficacy of our method on a range of dynamics problems, showcasing its ability to accurately predict complex spatiotemporal phenomena while providing insights into the system's dynamic behavior.

Compressing Vision Transformers for Low-Resource Visual LearningEric Youn, Sai Mitheran J, Sanjana Prabhu et al.
Vision transformer (ViT) and its variants have swept through visual learning leaderboards and offer state-of-the-art accuracy in tasks such as image classification, object detection, and semantic segmentation by attending to different parts of the visual input and capturing long-range spatial dependencies. However, these models are large and computation-heavy. For instance, the recently proposed ViT-B model has 86M parameters making it impractical for deployment on resource-constrained devices. As a result, their deployment on mobile and edge scenarios is limited. In our work, we aim to take a step toward bringing vision transformers to the edge by utilizing popular model compression techniques such as distillation, pruning, and quantization. Our chosen application environment is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is battery-powered and memory-constrained, carrying a single-board computer on the scale of an NVIDIA Jetson Nano with 4GB of RAM. On the other hand, the UAV requires high accuracy close to that of state-of-the-art ViTs to ensure safe object avoidance in autonomous navigation, or correct localization of humans in search-and-rescue. Inference latency should also be minimized given the application requirements. Hence, our target is to enable rapid inference of a vision transformer on an NVIDIA Jetson Nano (4GB) with minimal accuracy loss. This allows us to deploy ViTs on resource-constrained devices, opening up new possibilities in surveillance, environmental monitoring, etc. Our implementation is made available at https://github.com/chensy7/efficient-vit.

Efficient Meta Neural Heuristic for Multi-Objective Combinatorial OptimizationJinbiao Chen, Jiahai Wang, Zizhen Zhang et al.
Recently, neural heuristics based on deep reinforcement learning have exhibited promise in solving multi-objective combinatorial optimization problems (MOCOPs). However, they are still struggling to achieve high learning efficiency and solution quality. To tackle this issue, we propose an efficient meta neural heuristic (EMNH), in which a meta-model is first trained and then fine-tuned with a few steps to solve corresponding single-objective subproblems. Specifically, for the training process, a (partial) architecture-shared multi-task model is leveraged to achieve parallel learning for the meta-model, so as to speed up the training; meanwhile, a scaled symmetric sampling method with respect to the weight vectors is designed to stabilize the training. For the fine-tuning process, an efficient hierarchical method is proposed to systematically tackle all the subproblems. Experimental results on the multi-objective traveling salesman problem (MOTSP), multi-objective capacitated vehicle routing problem (MOCVRP), and multi-objective knapsack problem (MOKP) show that, EMNH is able to outperform the state-of-the-art neural heuristics in terms of solution quality and learning efficiency, and yield competitive solutions to the strong traditional heuristics while consuming much shorter time.

Automated Bioinformatics Analysis via AutoBAJuexiao Zhou, Bin Zhang, Xiuying Chen et al.
With the fast-growing and evolving omics data, the demand for streamlined and adaptable tools to handle the analysis continues to grow. In response to this need, we introduce Auto Bioinformatics Analysis (AutoBA), an autonomous AI agent based on a large language model designed explicitly for conventional omics data analysis. AutoBA simplifies the analytical process by requiring minimal user input while delivering detailed step-by-step plans for various bioinformatics tasks. Through rigorous validation by expert bioinformaticians, AutoBA's robustness and adaptability are affirmed across a diverse range of omics analysis cases, including whole genome sequencing (WGS), RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), single-cell RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and spatial transcriptomics. AutoBA's unique capacity to self-design analysis processes based on input data variations further underscores its versatility. Compared with online bioinformatic services, AutoBA deploys the analysis locally, preserving data privacy. Moreover, different from the predefined pipeline, AutoBA has adaptability in sync with emerging bioinformatics tools. Overall, AutoBA represents a convenient tool, offering robustness and adaptability for complex omics data analysis.

Closing Trajectories: Equation-Free Cyclic Animation via Koopman SurrogatesShixun Huang, Siyuan Chen, Yue Chang et al.
Cyclic animation is widely used in computer graphics and interactive content.It supports seamless playback in games, VR, and interactive simulation,where short clips must repeat smoothly over long durations. Achievingphysically plausible cyclic synthesis from an input sequence is challengingbecause the endpoint states of the observed sequence rarely match exactly,and the governing equations of the underlying system are often unavailable.We therefore propose an equation-free framework that identiffes a Koopmansurrogate from the observed trajectory and computes a cyclic trajectory byapplying a Fourier-parameterized, time-varying control force under a hardtemporal periodicity constraint. The resulting formulation reduces cyclicsynthesis to a linearly constrained quadratic program that can be solvedefffciently through a structured KKT system. Our method is applicable toa diverse range of examples, including N-body systems, cloth, deformableobjects, shallow water, etc.

DualMem: Bypassing the Objectness Bottleneck for Calibrated Unknown-Stream Filtering in Open-World Object DetectionYingjun Xiao, Xi Chen, Gang Fang et al.
Open-world object detection (OWOD) requires detectors to localize known classes while identifying unknown objects for future incremental learning. We find that the unknown prediction streams of strong OWOD detectors are heavily polluted: on M-OWODB, across PROB, OW-DETR, and HypOW, future-task positive unknowns make up less than 10% of unknown predictions, whereas background false positives account for 46-71%. We show that this is not a missing-information problem, but an information bottleneck at the objectness head. On PROB Task 1, a linear probe on the 256-D decoder query achieves an AUROC of 0.908 for positive-versus-negative unknown discrimination, but the final one-dimensional objectness scalar drops to 0.642. A frozen SigLIP feature, without access to the detector, independently recovers much of this proposal-level separability at the filtering stage (AUROC = 0.871). Motivated by this finding, we propose DualMem, a calibrated post-hoc filter that assumes a small image-disjoint annotated calibration split of held-out future-task objects and performs a non-parametric likelihood ratio test in frozen SigLIP feature space. DualMem uses a k-nearest-neighbor positive memory to protect future-task objects and a negative memory to suppress background-like proposals. Its decision threshold is chosen by Neyman-Pearson calibration, giving users an explicit trade-off between false-unknown suppression and novel recall. Across PROB, OW-DETR, and HypOW on M-OWODB Task 1, DualMem reduces background-type false unknown proposals per image by 44.9%-66.3%, with a mean reduction of 56.6%. On PROB Task 1, it more than doubles the reduction achieved by a natural K-means prototype baseline, while leaving known-class mAP unchanged because known detections bypass the filter.

Depression Diagnosis Dialogue Simulation: Self-improving Psychiatrist with Tertiary MemoryKunyao Lan, Bingrui Jin, Zichen Zhu et al.
Mental health issues, particularly depressive disorders, present significant challenges in contemporary society, necessitating the development of effective automated diagnostic methods. This paper introduces the Agent Mental Clinic (AMC), a self-improving conversational agent system designed to enhance depression diagnosis through simulated dialogues between patient and psychiatrist agents. To enhance the dialogue quality and diagnosis accuracy, we design a psychiatrist agent consisting of a tertiary memory structure, a dialogue control and reflect plugin that acts as ``supervisor'' and a memory sampling module, fully leveraging the skills reflected by the psychiatrist agent, achieving great accuracy on depression risk and suicide risk diagnosis via conversation. Experiment results on datasets collected in real-life scenarios demonstrate that the system, simulating the procedure of training psychiatrists, can be a promising optimization method for aligning LLMs with real-life distribution in specific domains without modifying the weights of LLMs, even when only a few representative labeled cases are available.

Orthogonal Finetuning for Direct Preference OptimizationChenxu Yang, Ruipeng Jia, Naibin Gu et al.
DPO is an effective preference optimization algorithm. However, the DPO-tuned models tend to overfit on the dispreferred samples, manifested as overly long generations lacking diversity. While recent regularization approaches have endeavored to alleviate this issue by modifying the objective function, they achieved that at the cost of alignment performance degradation. In this paper, we innovatively incorporate regularization from the perspective of weight updating to curb alignment overfitting. Through the pilot experiment, we discovered that there exists a positive correlation between overfitting and the hyperspherical energy fluctuation. Hence, we introduce orthogonal finetuning for DPO via a weight-Rotated Preference Optimization (RoPO) method, which merely conducts rotational and magnitude-stretching updates on the weight parameters to maintain the hyperspherical energy invariant, thereby preserving the knowledge encoded in the angle between neurons. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our model aligns perfectly with human preferences while retaining the original expressive capacity using only 0.0086% of the trainable parameters, suggesting an effective regularization against overfitting. Specifically, RoPO outperforms DPO by up to 10 points on MT-Bench and by up to 2.8 points on AlpacaEval 2, while enhancing the generation diversity by an average of 6 points.

PsyEval: A Suite of Mental Health Related Tasks for Evaluating Large Language ModelsHaoan Jin, Siyuan Chen, Dilawaier Dilixiati et al.
Evaluating Large Language Models (LLMs) in the mental health domain poses distinct challenged from other domains, given the subtle and highly subjective nature of symptoms that exhibit significant variability among individuals. This paper presents PsyEval, the first comprehensive suite of mental health-related tasks for evaluating LLMs. PsyEval encompasses five sub-tasks that evaluate three critical dimensions of mental health. This comprehensive framework is designed to thoroughly assess the unique challenges and intricacies of mental health-related tasks, making PsyEval a highly specialized and valuable tool for evaluating LLM performance in this domain. We evaluate twelve advanced LLMs using PsyEval. Experiment results not only demonstrate significant room for improvement in current LLMs concerning mental health but also unveil potential directions for future model optimization.

Mixed Chain-of-Psychotherapies for Emotional Support ChatbotSiyuan Chen, Cong Ming, Zhiling Zhang et al.
In the realm of mental health support chatbots, it is vital to show empathy and encourage self-exploration to provide tailored solutions. However, current approaches tend to provide general insights or solutions without fully understanding the help-seeker's situation. Therefore, we propose PsyMix, a chatbot that integrates the analyses of the seeker's state from the perspective of a psychotherapy approach (Chain-of-Psychotherapies, CoP) before generating the response, and learns to incorporate the strength of various psychotherapies by fine-tuning on a mixture of CoPs. Through comprehensive evaluation, we found that PsyMix can outperform the ChatGPT baseline, and demonstrate a comparable level of empathy in its responses to that of human counselors.

Robustness and accuracy are two critical metrics for industrial inspection. In this paper, we propose benchmarks that can evaluate the structured light method's performance. Our evaluation metric was learning from a lot of inspection tasks from the factories. The metric we proposed consists of four detailed criteria such as flatness, length, height and sphericity. Then we can judge whether the structured light method/device can be applied to a specified inspection task by our evaluation metric quickly. A structured light device built for TypeC pin needles inspection performance is evaluated via our metrics in the final experimental section.

A Multi-Task Role-Playing Agent Capable of Imitating Character Linguistic StylesSiyuan Chen, Qingyi Si, Chenxu Yang et al.
The advent of large language models (LLMs) has significantly propelled the advancement of Role-Playing Agents (RPAs). However, current Role-Playing Agents predominantly focus on mimicking a character's fundamental attributes while neglecting the replication of linguistic style, and they are incapable of effectively replicating characters when performing tasks beyond multi-turn dialogues, which results in generated responses that lack authenticity. The reason current RPAs lack this capability is due to the nature of existing character datasets, which lack collections of character quotations and are limited to multi-turn dialogue tasks, constraining the RPA's performance across other task domains and failing to mimic a character's linguistic style. To address this gap, we developed a multi-task role-playing dataset named MRstyle, which encompasses a substantial number of real individuals along with their quotations and covers seven different tasks. On this basis, we develop StyleRPA, a Multi-Task Role-Playing Agent (MRPA) that significantly outperforms recent open-source LLMs and RPAs baselines on 7 tasks including Dialogue, Dictionary, Composition, Story Generation, Product Description, Music Commentary, and Open Question Answering. Balanced Residual Distillation Learning for 3D Point Cloud Class-Incremental Semantic SegmentationYuanzhi Su, Siyuan Chen, Yuan-Gen Wang
Class-incremental learning (CIL) enables continuous learning of new classes while mitigating catastrophic forgetting of old ones. For the performance breakthrough of CIL, it is essential yet challenging to effectively refine past knowledge from the base model and balance it with new learning. However, such a challenge has not been considered in current research. This work proposes a balanced residual distillation learning framework (BRDL) to address this gap and advance CIL performance. BRDL introduces a residual distillation strategy to dynamically refine past knowledge by expanding the network structure and a balanced pseudo-label learning strategy to mitigate class bias and balance learning between old and new classes. We apply the proposed BRDL to a challenging 3D point cloud semantic segmentation task where the data is unordered and unstructured. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that BRDL sets a new benchmark with an outstanding balance capability in class-biased scenarios.

Unified Simulation of Lagrangian Particle Dynamics via TransformerCaoliwen Wang, Minghao Guo, Siyuan Chen et al.
A unified simulator that can model diverse physical phenomena without solver-specific redesign is a long-standing goal across simulation science. We present a learning-based particle simulator built on a single transformer architecture to model cloth, elastic solds, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, granular materials, and molecular dynamics. Our model follows a prediction-correction design on a shared Lagrangian particle representation. An explicit predictor first advances particles under the known external forces, producing an intermediate state that captures externally driven motion but not inter-particle interactions. A learned corrector then predicts the residual position and velocity updates through three stages: a particle tokenizer that encodes local particle-particle, particle-boundary, and topology-guided interactions; a super-token encoder that hierarchically merges particle tokens into a compact set of super tokens via alternating self-attention and token merging; and a super-token decoder that lifts these super tokens back to particle resolution through cross-attention to predict per-particle position and velocity corrections. Progressive token merging reduces the attention cost at successive encoder layers by halving the token count at each level, and the decoder communicates through the compact super-token set rather than full particle-to-particle attention. Across the six dynamics categories, the same architecture generalizes to unseen materials, boundary configurations, initial conditions, and external forces. We further demonstrate downstream interactive control, inverse design, and learning from real-world manipulation data, reducing the need for per-phenomenon solver engineering.

FutureX: An Advanced Live Benchmark for LLM Agents in Future PredictionZhiyuan Zeng, Jiashuo Liu, Siyuan Chen et al.
Future prediction is a complex task for LLM agents, requiring a high level of analytical thinking, information gathering, contextual understanding, and decision-making under uncertainty. Agents must not only gather and interpret vast amounts of dynamic information but also integrate diverse data sources, weigh uncertainties, and adapt predictions based on emerging trends, just as human experts do in fields like politics, economics, and finance. Despite its importance, no large-scale benchmark exists for evaluating agents on future prediction, largely due to challenges in handling real-time updates and retrieving timely, accurate answers. To address this, we introduce $\textbf{FutureX}$, a dynamic and live evaluation benchmark specifically designed for LLM agents performing future prediction tasks. FutureX is the largest and most diverse live benchmark for future prediction, supporting real-time daily updates and eliminating data contamination through an automated pipeline for question gathering and answer collection. We evaluate 25 LLM/agent models, including those with reasoning, search capabilities, and integration of external tools such as the open-source Deep Research Agent and closed-source Deep Research models. This comprehensive evaluation assesses agents' adaptive reasoning and performance in dynamic environments. Additionally, we provide in-depth analyses of agents' failure modes and performance pitfalls in future-oriented tasks, including the vulnerability to fake web pages and the temporal validity. Our goal is to establish a dynamic, contamination-free evaluation standard that drives the development of LLM agents capable of performing at the level of professional human analysts in complex reasoning and predictive thinking.

Not All Candidates are Created Equal: A Heterogeneity-Aware Approach to Pre-ranking in Recommender SystemsPengfei Tong, Siyuan Chen, Chenwei Zhang et al.
Most large-scale recommender systems follow a multi-stage cascade of retrieval, pre-ranking, ranking, and re-ranking. A key challenge at the pre-ranking stage arises from the heterogeneity of training instances sampled from coarse-grained retrieval results, fine-grained ranking signals, and exposure feedback. Our analysis reveals that prevailing pre-ranking methods, which indiscriminately mix heterogeneous samples, suffer from gradient conflicts: hard samples dominate training while easy ones remain underutilized, leading to suboptimal performance. We further show that the common practice of uniformly scaling model complexity across all samples is inefficient, as it overspends computation on easy cases and slows training without proportional gains. To address these limitations, this paper presents Heterogeneity-Aware Adaptive Pre-ranking (HAP), a unified framework that mitigates gradient conflicts through conflict-sensitive sampling coupled with tailored loss design, while adaptively allocating computational budgets across candidates. Specifically, HAP disentangles easy and hard samples, directing each subset along dedicated optimization paths. Building on this separation, it first applies lightweight models to all candidates for efficient coverage, and further engages stronger models on the hard ones, maintaining accuracy while reducing cost. This approach not only improves pre-ranking effectiveness but also provides a practical perspective on scaling strategies in industrial recommender systems. HAP has been deployed in the Toutiao production system for 9 months, yielding up to 0.4% improvement in user app usage duration and 0.05% in active days, without additional computational cost. We also release a large-scale industrial hybrid-sample dataset to enable the systematic study of source-driven candidate heterogeneity in pre-ranking.

Practical offloading for fine-tuning LLM on commodity GPU via learned sparse projectorsSiyuan Chen, Zhuofeng Wang, Zelong Guan et al.
Fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) requires significant memory, often exceeding the capacity of a single GPU. A common solution to this memory challenge is offloading compute and data from the GPU to the CPU. However, this approach is hampered by the limited bandwidth of commodity hardware, which constrains communication between the CPU and GPU, and by slower matrix multiplications on the CPU. In this paper, we present an offloading framework, LSP-Offload, that enables near-native speed LLM fine-tuning on commodity hardware through learned sparse projectors. Our data-driven approach involves learning efficient sparse compressors that minimize communication with minimal precision loss. Additionally, we introduce a novel layer-wise communication schedule to maximize parallelism between communication and computation. As a result, our framework can fine-tune a 1.3 billion parameter model on a 4GB laptop GPU and a 6.7 billion parameter model on a 24GB NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU. Compared to state-of-the-art offloading frameworks, our approach reduces end-to-end fine-tuning time by 33.1%-62.5% when converging to the same accuracy. RTBAS: Defending LLM Agents Against Prompt Injection and Privacy LeakagePeter Yong Zhong, Siyuan Chen, Ruiqi Wang et al.
Tool-Based Agent Systems (TBAS) allow Language Models (LMs) to use external tools for tasks beyond their standalone capabilities, such as searching websites, booking flights, or making financial transactions. However, these tools greatly increase the risks of prompt injection attacks, where malicious content hijacks the LM agent to leak confidential data or trigger harmful actions. Existing defenses (OpenAI GPTs) require user confirmation before every tool call, placing onerous burdens on users. We introduce Robust TBAS (RTBAS), which automatically detects and executes tool calls that preserve integrity and confidentiality, requiring user confirmation only when these safeguards cannot be ensured. RTBAS adapts Information Flow Control to the unique challenges presented by TBAS. We present two novel dependency screeners, using LM-as-a-judge and attention-based saliency, to overcome these challenges. Experimental results on the AgentDojo Prompt Injection benchmark show RTBAS prevents all targeted attacks with only a 2% loss of task utility when under attack, and further tests confirm its ability to obtain near-oracle performance on detecting both subtle and direct privacy leaks.

Heterogeneous Interaction Modeling With Reduced Accumulated Error for Multi-Agent Trajectory PredictionSiyuan Chen, Jiahai Wang
Dynamical complex systems composed of interactive heterogeneous agents are prevalent in the world, including urban traffic systems and social networks. Modeling the interactions among agents is the key to understanding and predicting the dynamics of the complex system, e.g., predicting the trajectories of traffic participants in the city. Compared with interaction modeling in homogeneous systems such as pedestrians in a crowded scene, heterogeneous interaction modeling is less explored. Worse still, the error accumulation problem becomes more severe since the interactions are more complex. To tackle the two problems, this paper proposes heterogeneous interaction modeling with reduced accumulated error for multi-agent trajectory prediction. Based on the historical trajectories, our method infers the dynamic interaction graphs among agents, featured by directed interacting relations and interacting effects. A heterogeneous attention mechanism is defined on the interaction graphs for aggregating the influence from heterogeneous neighbors to the target agent. To alleviate the error accumulation problem, this paper analyzes the error sources from the spatial and temporal perspectives, and proposes to introduce the graph entropy and the mixup training strategy for reducing the two types of errors respectively. Our method is examined on three real-world datasets containing heterogeneous agents, and the experimental results validate the superiority of our method.

CAGE-SGG: Counterfactual Active Graph Evidence for Open-Vocabulary Scene Graph GenerationSuiyang Guang, Chenyu Liu, Ruohan Zhang et al.
Open-vocabulary scene graph generation (SGG) aims to describe visual scenes with flexible and fine-grained relation phrases beyond a fixed predicate vocabulary. While recent vision-language models greatly expand the semantic coverage of SGG, they also introduce a critical reliability issue: predicted relations may be driven by language priors or object co-occurrence rather than grounded visual evidence. In this paper, we propose an evidence-rounded open-vocabulary SGG framework based on counterfactual relation verification. Instead of directly accepting plausible relation proposals, our method verifies whether each candidate relation is supported by relation-pecific visual, geometric, and contextual evidence. Specifically, we first generate open-vocabulary relation candidates with a vision-language proposer, then decompose predicate phrases into soft evidence bases such as support, contact, containment, depth, motion, and state. A relation-conditioned evidence encoder extracts predicate-relevant cues, while a counterfactual verifier tests whether the relation score decreases when necessary vidence is removed and remains stable under irrelevant perturbations. We further introduce contradiction-aware predicate learning and graph-level preference optimization to improve fine-grained discrimination and global graph consistency. Experiments on conventional, open-vocabulary, and panoptic SGG benchmarks show that our method consistently improves standard recall-based metrics, unseen predicate generalization, and counterfactual grounding quality. These results demonstrate that moving from relation generation to relation verification leads to more reliable, interpretable, and evidence-grounded scene graphs.

SLOs-Serve: Optimized Serving of Multi-SLO LLMsSiyuan Chen, Zhipeng Jia, Samira Khan et al.
This paper introduces SLOs-Serve, a system designed for serving multi-stage large language model (LLM) requests with application- and stage-specific service level objectives (SLOs). The key idea behind SLOs-Serve is to customize the allocation of tokens to meet these SLO requirements. SLOs-Serve uses a multi-SLO dynamic programming-based algorithm to continuously optimize token allocations under SLO constraints by exploring the full design space of chunked prefill and (optional) speculative decoding. Leveraging this resource planning algorithm, SLOs-Serve effectively supports multi-SLOs and multi-replica serving with dynamic request routing while being resilient to bursty arrivals. Our evaluation across 6 LLM application scenarios (including summarization, coding, chatbot, tool calling, and reasoning) demonstrates that SLOs-Serve improves per-GPU serving capacity by 2.2x on average compared to prior state-of-the-art systems.

Reinforcement Learning Constrained Beam Search for Parameter Optimization of Paper Drying Under Flexible ConstraintsSiyuan Chen, Hanshen Yu, Jamal Yagoobi et al.
Existing approaches to enforcing design constraints in Reinforcement Learning (RL) applications often rely on training-time penalties in the reward function or training/inference-time invalid action masking, but these methods either cannot be modified after training, or are limited in the types of constraints that can be implemented. To address this limitation, we propose Reinforcement Learning Constrained Beam Search (RLCBS) for inference-time refinement in combinatorial optimization problems. This method respects flexible, inference-time constraints that support exclusion of invalid actions and forced inclusion of desired actions, and employs beam search to maximize sequence probability for more sensible constraint incorporation. RLCBS is extensible to RL-based planning and optimization problems that do not require real-time solution, and we apply the method to optimize process parameters for a novel modular testbed for paper drying. An RL agent is trained to minimize energy consumption across varying machine speed levels by generating optimal dryer module and air supply temperature configurations. Our results demonstrate that RLCBS outperforms NSGA-II under complex design constraints on drying module configurations at inference-time, while providing a 2.58-fold or higher speed improvement.

SG-Splatting: Accelerating 3D Gaussian Splatting with Spherical GaussiansYiwen Wang, Siyuan Chen, Ran Yi
3D Gaussian Splatting is emerging as a state-of-the-art technique in novel view synthesis, recognized for its impressive balance between visual quality, speed, and rendering efficiency. However, reliance on third-degree spherical harmonics for color representation introduces significant storage demands and computational overhead, resulting in a large memory footprint and slower rendering speed. We introduce SG-Splatting with Spherical Gaussians based color representation, a novel approach to enhance rendering speed and quality in novel view synthesis. Our method first represents view-dependent color using Spherical Gaussians, instead of three degree spherical harmonics, which largely reduces the number of parameters used for color representation, and significantly accelerates the rendering process. We then develop an efficient strategy for organizing multiple Spherical Gaussians, optimizing their arrangement to achieve a balanced and accurate scene representation. To further improve rendering quality, we propose a mixed representation that combines Spherical Gaussians with low-degree spherical harmonics, capturing both high- and low-frequency color information effectively. SG-Splatting also has plug-and-play capability, allowing it to be easily integrated into existing systems. This approach improves computational efficiency and overall visual fidelity, making it a practical solution for real-time applications.

Perturb-and-Restore: Simulation-driven Structural Augmentation Framework for Imbalance Chromosomal Anomaly DetectionYilan Zhang, Hanbiao Chen, Changchun Yang et al.
Detecting structural chromosomal abnormalities is crucial for accurate diagnosis and management of genetic disorders. However, collecting sufficient structural abnormality data is extremely challenging and costly in clinical practice, and not all abnormal types can be readily collected. As a result, deep learning approaches face significant performance degradation due to the severe imbalance and scarcity of abnormal chromosome data. To address this challenge, we propose a Perturb-and-Restore (P&R), a simulation-driven structural augmentation framework that effectively alleviates data imbalance in chromosome anomaly detection. The P&R framework comprises two key components: (1) Structure Perturbation and Restoration Simulation, which generates synthetic abnormal chromosomes by perturbing chromosomal banding patterns of normal chromosomes followed by a restoration diffusion network that reconstructs continuous chromosome content and edges, thus eliminating reliance on rare abnormal samples; and (2) Energy-guided Adaptive Sampling, an energy score-based online selection strategy that dynamically prioritizes high-quality synthetic samples by referencing the energy distribution of real samples. To evaluate our method, we construct a comprehensive structural anomaly dataset consisting of over 260,000 chromosome images, including 4,242 abnormal samples spanning 24 categories. Experimental results demonstrate that the P&R framework achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance, surpassing existing methods with an average improvement of 8.92% in sensitivity, 8.89% in precision, and 13.79% in F1-score across all categories.

Plasticine3D: 3D Non-Rigid Editing with Text Guidance by Multi-View Embedding OptimizationYige Chen, Teng Hu, Yizhe Tang et al.
With the help of Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) and the rapid development of neural 3D representations, some methods have been proposed to perform 3D editing such as adding additional geometries, or overwriting textures. However, generalized 3D non-rigid editing task, which requires changing both the structure (posture or composition) and appearance (texture) of the original object, remains to be challenging in 3D editing field. In this paper, we propose Plasticine3D, a novel text-guided fine-grained controlled 3D editing pipeline that can perform 3D non-rigid editing with large structure deformations. Our work divides the editing process into a geometry editing stage and a texture editing stage to achieve separate control of structure and appearance. In order to maintain the details of the original object from different viewpoints, we propose a Multi-View-Embedding (MVE) Optimization strategy to ensure that the guidance model learns the features of the original object from various viewpoints. For the purpose of fine-grained control, we propose Embedding-Fusion (EF) to blend the original characteristics with the editing objectives in the embedding space, and control the extent of editing by adjusting the fusion rate. Furthermore, in order to address the issue of gradual loss of details during the generation process under high editing intensity, as well as the problem of insignificant editing effects in some scenarios, we propose Score Projection Sampling (SPS) as a replacement of score distillation sampling, which introduces additional optimization phases for editing target enhancement and original detail maintenance, leading to better editing quality. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method on 3D non-rigid editing tasks

Aligning by Misaligning: Boundary-aware Curriculum Learning for Multimodal AlignmentHua Ye, Hang Ding, Siyuan Chen et al.
Most multimodal models treat every negative pair alike, ignoring the ambiguous negatives that differ from the positive by only a small detail. We propose Boundary-Aware Curriculum with Local Attention (BACL), a lightweight add-on that turns these borderline cases into a curriculum signal. A Boundary-aware Negative Sampler gradually raises difficulty, while a Contrastive Local Attention loss highlights where the mismatch occurs. The two modules are fully differentiable and work with any off-the-shelf dual encoder. Theory predicts a fast O(1/n) error rate; practice shows up to +32% R@1 over CLIP and new SOTA on four large-scale benchmarks, all without extra labels.

Synergy over Discrepancy: A Partition-Based Approach to Multi-Domain LLM Fine-TuningHua Ye, Siyuan Chen, Haoliang Zhang et al.
Large language models (LLMs) demonstrate impressive generalization abilities, yet adapting them effectively across multiple heterogeneous domains remains challenging due to inter-domain interference. To overcome this challenge, we propose a partition-based multi-stage fine-tuning framework designed to exploit inter-domain synergies while minimizing negative transfer. Our approach strategically partitions domains into subsets (stages) by balancing domain discrepancy, synergy, and model capacity constraints. We theoretically analyze the proposed framework and derive novel generalization bounds that justify our partitioning strategy. Extensive empirical evaluations on various language understanding tasks show that our method consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines.

From Medical Records to Diagnostic Dialogues: A Clinical-Grounded Approach and Dataset for Psychiatric ComorbidityTianxi Wan, Jiaming Luo, Siyuan Chen et al.
Psychiatric comorbidity is clinically significant yet challenging due to the complexity of multiple co-occurring disorders. To address this, we develop a novel approach integrating synthetic patient electronic medical record (EMR) construction and multi-agent diagnostic dialogue generation. We create 502 synthetic EMRs for common comorbid conditions using a pipeline that ensures clinical relevance and diversity. Our multi-agent framework transfers the clinical interview protocol into a hierarchical state machine and context tree, supporting over 130 diagnostic states while maintaining clinical standards. Through this rigorous process, we construct PsyCoTalk, the first large-scale dialogue dataset supporting comorbidity, containing 3,000 multi-turn diagnostic dialogues validated by psychiatrists. This dataset enhances diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning, offering a valuable resource for psychiatric comorbidity research. Compared to real-world clinical transcripts, PsyCoTalk exhibits high structural and linguistic fidelity in terms of dialogue length, token distribution, and diagnostic reasoning strategies. Licensed psychiatrists confirm the realism and diagnostic validity of the dialogues. This dataset enables the development and evaluation of models capable of multi-disorder psychiatric screening in a single conversational pass.

DexCanvas: Bridging Human Demonstrations and Robot Learning for Dexterous ManipulationXinyue Xu, Jieqiang Sun, Jing et al.
We present DexCanvas, a large-scale hybrid real-synthetic human manipulation dataset containing 7,000 hours of dexterous hand-object interactions seeded from 70 hours of real human demonstrations, organized across 21 fundamental manipulation types based on the Cutkosky taxonomy. Each entry combines synchronized multi-view RGB-D, high-precision mocap with MANO hand parameters, and per-frame contact points with physically consistent force profiles. Our real-to-sim pipeline uses reinforcement learning to train policies that control an actuated MANO hand in physics simulation, reproducing human demonstrations while discovering the underlying contact forces that generate the observed object motion. DexCanvas is the first manipulation dataset to combine large-scale real demonstrations, systematic skill coverage based on established taxonomies, and physics-validated contact annotations. The dataset can facilitate research in robotic manipulation learning, contact-rich control, and skill transfer across different hand morphologies.

Higher Satisfaction, Lower Cost: A Technical Report on How LLMs Revolutionize Meituan's Intelligent Interaction SystemsXuxin Cheng, Ke Zeng, Zhiquan Cao et al.
Enhancing customer experience is essential for business success, particularly as service demands grow in scale and complexity. Generative artificial intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs) have empowered intelligent interaction systems to deliver efficient, personalized, and 24/7 support. In practice, intelligent interaction systems encounter several challenges: (1) Constructing high-quality data for cold-start training is difficult, hindering self-evolution and raising labor costs. (2) Multi-turn dialogue performance remains suboptimal due to inadequate intent understanding, rule compliance, and solution extraction. (3) Frequent evolution of business rules affects system operability and transferability, constraining low-cost expansion and adaptability. (4) Reliance on a single LLM is insufficient in complex scenarios, where the absence of multi-agent frameworks and effective collaboration undermines process completeness and service quality. (5) The open-domain nature of multi-turn dialogues, lacking unified golden answers, hampers quantitative evaluation and continuous optimization. To address these challenges, we introduce WOWService, an intelligent interaction system tailored for industrial applications. With the integration of LLMs and multi-agent architectures, WOWService enables autonomous task management and collaborative problem-solving. Specifically, WOWService focuses on core modules including data construction, general capability enhancement, business scenario adaptation, multi-agent coordination, and automated evaluation. Currently, WOWService is deployed on the Meituan App, achieving significant gains in key metrics, e.g., User Satisfaction Metric 1 (USM 1) -27.53% and User Satisfaction Metric 2 (USM 2) +25.51%, demonstrating its effectiveness in capturing user needs and advancing personalized service.

Physically Valid Biomolecular Interaction Modeling with Gauss-Seidel ProjectionSiyuan Chen, Minghao Guo, Caoliwen Wang et al.
Biomolecular interaction modeling has been substantially advanced by foundation models, yet they often produce all-atom structures that violate basic steric feasibility. We address this limitation by enforcing physical validity as a strict constraint during both training and inference with a uniffed module. At its core is a differentiable projection that maps the provisional atom coordinates from the diffusion model to the nearest physically valid conffguration. This projection is achieved using a Gauss-Seidel scheme, which exploits the locality and sparsity of the constraints to ensure stable and fast convergence at scale. By implicit differentiation to obtain gradients, our module integrates seamlessly into existing frameworks for end-to-end ffnetuning. With our Gauss-Seidel projection module in place, two denoising steps are sufffcient to produce biomolecular complexes that are both physically valid and structurally accurate. Across six benchmarks, our 2-step model achieves the same structural accuracy as state-of-the-art 200-step diffusion baselines, delivering approximately 10 times faster wall-clock speed while guaranteeing physical validity.

EvoEngineer: Mastering Automated CUDA Kernel Code Evolution with Large Language ModelsPing Guo, Chenyu Zhu, Siyuan Chen et al.
CUDA kernel optimization has become a critical bottleneck for AI performance, as deep learning training and inference efficiency directly depends on highly optimized GPU kernels. Despite the promise of Large Language Models (LLMs) for automating kernel optimization, this field suffers from a fragmented ecosystem of isolated and incomparable approaches with unclear problem formulations. Furthermore, general-purpose LLM code evolution methods cannot meet strict correctness requirements of CUDA kernel optimization. We address these fundamental challenges by first formalizing CUDA kernel optimization as a code optimization task with a clear objective, constraints, and evaluation metrics. We then establish the first systematic LLM-based code evolution framework, EvoEngineer, that provides guidance for designing and adapting optimization strategies to achieve a balance between performance and correctness. Finally, we implement a kernel optimization system based on this framework and conduct extensive experiments on 91 real-world CUDA kernels. Our results demonstrate that EvoEngineer achieves a principled balance between performance and correctness, with the highest averaged median speedup of \textbf{2.72}$\times$ over baseline CUDA kernels and a code validity rate of \textbf{69.8}\%, outperforming existing methods on both dimensions. Our method achieves a maximum speedup of \textbf{36.75}$\times$ among all operations over PyTorch kernels and delivers the highest speedup on \textbf{28} (\textbf{56.0\%}) of 50 operations that achieve over \textbf{2$\times$} acceleration.

Evolution of Kernels: Automated RISC-V Kernel Optimization with Large Language ModelsSiyuan Chen, Zhichao Lu, Qingfu Zhang
Automated kernel design is critical for overcoming software ecosystem barriers in emerging hardware platforms like RISC-V. While large language models (LLMs) have shown promise for automated kernel optimization, demonstrating success in CUDA domains with comprehensive technical documents and mature codebases, their effectiveness remains unproven for reference-scarce domains like RISC-V. We present Evolution of Kernels (EoK), a novel LLM-based evolutionary program search framework that automates kernel design for domains with limited reference material. EoK mitigates reference scarcity by mining and formalizing reusable optimization ideas (general design principles + actionable thoughts) from established kernel libraries' development histories; it then guides parallel LLM explorations using these ideas, enriched via Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with RISC-V-specific context, prioritizing historically effective techniques. Empirically, EoK achieves a median 1.27x speedup, surpassing human experts on all 80 evaluated kernel design tasks and improving upon prior LLM-based automated kernel design methods by 20%. These results underscore the viability of incorporating human experience into emerging domains and highlight the immense potential of LLM-based automated kernel optimization.

Despite the efficacy of Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) in aligning Large Language Models (LLMs), reward hacking remains a pivotal challenge. This issue emerges when LLMs excessively reduce the probability of rejected completions to achieve high rewards, without genuinely meeting their intended goals. As a result, this leads to overly lengthy generation lacking diversity, as well as catastrophic forgetting of knowledge. We investigate the underlying reason behind this issue, which is representation redundancy caused by neuron collapse in the parameter space. Hence, we propose a novel Weights-Rotated Preference Optimization (RoPO) algorithm, which implicitly constrains the output layer logits with the KL divergence inherited from DPO and explicitly constrains the intermediate hidden states by fine-tuning on a multi-granularity orthogonal matrix. This design prevents the policy model from deviating too far from the reference model, thereby retaining the knowledge and expressive capabilities acquired during pre-training and SFT stages. Our RoPO achieves up to a 3.27-point improvement on AlpacaEval 2, and surpasses the best baseline by 6.2 to 7.5 points on MT-Bench with merely 0.015% of the trainable parameters, demonstrating its effectiveness in alleviating the reward hacking problem of DPO.

An Inclusive Foundation Model for Generalizable Cytogenetics in Precision OncologyChangchun Yang, Weiqian Dai, Yilan Zhang et al.
Chromosome analysis is vital for diagnosing genetic disorders and guiding cancer therapy decisions through the identification of somatic clonal aberrations. However, developing an AI model are hindered by the overwhelming complexity and diversity of chromosomal abnormalities, requiring extensive annotation efforts, while automated methods remain task-specific and lack generalizability due to the scarcity of comprehensive datasets spanning diverse resource conditions. Here, we introduce CHROMA, a foundation model for cytogenomics, designed to overcome these challenges by learning generalizable representations of chromosomal abnormalities. Pre-trained on over 84,000 specimens (~4 million chromosomal images) via self-supervised learning, CHROMA outperforms other methods across all types of abnormalities, even when trained on fewer labelled data and more imbalanced datasets. By facilitating comprehensive mapping of instability and clonal leisons across various aberration types, CHROMA offers a scalable and generalizable solution for reliable and automated clinical analysis, reducing the annotation workload for experts and advancing precision oncology through the early detection of rare genomic abnormalities, enabling broad clinical AI applications and making advanced genomic analysis more accessible.

A Hierarchical Framework with Spatio-Temporal Consistency Learning for Emergence Detection in Complex Adaptive SystemsSiyuan Chen, Xin Du, Jiahai Wang
Emergence, a global property of complex adaptive systems (CASs) constituted by interactive agents, is prevalent in real-world dynamic systems, e.g., network-level traffic congestions. Detecting its formation and evaporation helps to monitor the state of a system, allowing to issue a warning signal for harmful emergent phenomena. Since there is no centralized controller of CAS, detecting emergence based on each agent's local observation is desirable but challenging. Existing works are unable to capture emergence-related spatial patterns, and fail to model the nonlinear relationships among agents. This paper proposes a hierarchical framework with spatio-temporal consistency learning to solve these two problems by learning the system representation and agent representations, respectively. Spatio-temporal encoders composed of spatial and temporal transformers are designed to capture agents' nonlinear relationships and the system's complex evolution. Agents' and the system's representations are learned to preserve the spatio-temporal consistency by minimizing the spatial and temporal dissimilarities in a self-supervised manner in the latent space. Our method achieves more accurate detection than traditional methods and deep learning methods on three datasets with well-known yet hard-to-detect emergent behaviors. Notably, our hierarchical framework is generic in incorporating other deep learning methods for agent-level and system-level detection.

LLM-empowered Chatbots for Psychiatrist and Patient Simulation: Application and EvaluationSiyuan Chen, Mengyue Wu, Kenny Q. Zhu et al.
Empowering chatbots in the field of mental health is receiving increasing amount of attention, while there still lacks exploration in developing and evaluating chatbots in psychiatric outpatient scenarios. In this work, we focus on exploring the potential of ChatGPT in powering chatbots for psychiatrist and patient simulation. We collaborate with psychiatrists to identify objectives and iteratively develop the dialogue system to closely align with real-world scenarios. In the evaluation experiments, we recruit real psychiatrists and patients to engage in diagnostic conversations with the chatbots, collecting their ratings for assessment. Our findings demonstrate the feasibility of using ChatGPT-powered chatbots in psychiatric scenarios and explore the impact of prompt designs on chatbot behavior and user experience.

Mobile-Env: Building Qualified Evaluation Benchmarks for LLM-GUI InteractionDanyang Zhang, Zhennan Shen, Rui Xie et al.
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is pivotal for human interaction with the digital world, enabling efficient device control and the completion of complex tasks. Recent progress in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs) offers the chance to create advanced GUI agents. To ensure their effectiveness, there's a pressing need for qualified benchmarks that provide trustworthy and reproducible evaluations -- a challenge current benchmarks often fail to address. To tackle this issue, we introduce Mobile-Env, a comprehensive toolkit tailored for creating GUI benchmarks in the Android mobile environment. Mobile-Env offers an isolated and controllable setting for reliable evaluations, and accommodates intermediate instructions and rewards to reflect real-world usage more naturally. Utilizing Mobile-Env, we collect an open-world task set across various real-world apps and a fixed world set, WikiHow, which captures a significant amount of dynamic online contents for fully controllable and reproducible evaluation. We conduct comprehensive evaluations of LLM agents using these benchmarks. Our findings reveal that even advanced models (e.g., GPT-4V and LLaMA-3) struggle with tasks that are relatively simple for humans. This highlights a crucial gap in current models and underscores the importance of developing more capable foundation models and more effective GUI agent frameworks.

Graph Neural Networks with Dynamic and Static Representations for Social RecommendationJunfa Lin, Siyuan Chen, Jiahai Wang
Recommender systems based on graph neural networks receive increasing research interest due to their excellent ability to learn a variety of side information including social networks. However, previous works usually focus on modeling users, not much attention is paid to items. Moreover, the possible changes in the attraction of items over time, which is like the dynamic interest of users are rarely considered, and neither do the correlations among items. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes graph neural networks with dynamic and static representations for social recommendation (GNN-DSR), which considers both dynamic and static representations of users and items and incorporates their relational influence. GNN-DSR models the short-term dynamic and long-term static interactional representations of the user's interest and the item's attraction, respectively. Furthermore, the attention mechanism is used to aggregate the social influence of users on the target user and the correlative items' influence on a given item. The final latent factors of user and item are combined to make a prediction. Experiments on three real-world recommender system datasets validate the effectiveness of GNN-DSR.

Protein-RNA interaction prediction with deep learning: Structure mattersJunkang Wei, Siyuan Chen, Licheng Zong et al.
Protein-RNA interactions are of vital importance to a variety of cellular activities. Both experimental and computational techniques have been developed to study the interactions. Due to the limitation of the previous database, especially the lack of protein structure data, most of the existing computational methods rely heavily on the sequence data, with only a small portion of the methods utilizing the structural information. Recently, AlphaFold has revolutionized the entire protein and biology field. Foreseeably, the protein-RNA interaction prediction will also be promoted significantly in the upcoming years. In this work, we give a thorough review of this field, surveying both the binding site and binding preference prediction problems and covering the commonly used datasets, features, and models. We also point out the potential challenges and opportunities in this field. This survey summarizes the development of the RBP-RNA interaction field in the past and foresees its future development in the post-AlphaFold era.

Neural Relational Inference with Efficient Message Passing MechanismsSiyuan Chen, Jiahai Wang, Guoqing Li
Many complex processes can be viewed as dynamical systems of interacting agents. In many cases, only the state sequences of individual agents are observed, while the interacting relations and the dynamical rules are unknown. The neural relational inference (NRI) model adopts graph neural networks that pass messages over a latent graph to jointly learn the relations and the dynamics based on the observed data. However, NRI infers the relations independently and suffers from error accumulation in multi-step prediction at dynamics learning procedure. Besides, relation reconstruction without prior knowledge becomes more difficult in more complex systems. This paper introduces efficient message passing mechanisms to the graph neural networks with structural prior knowledge to address these problems. A relation interaction mechanism is proposed to capture the coexistence of all relations, and a spatio-temporal message passing mechanism is proposed to use historical information to alleviate error accumulation. Additionally, the structural prior knowledge, symmetry as a special case, is introduced for better relation prediction in more complex systems. The experimental results on simulated physics systems show that the proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.

A Registration-aided Domain Adaptation Network for 3D Point Cloud Based Place RecognitionZhijian Qiao, Hanjiang Hu, Weiang Shi et al.
In the field of large-scale SLAM for autonomous driving and mobile robotics, 3D point cloud based place recognition has aroused significant research interest due to its robustness to changing environments with drastic daytime and weather variance. However, it is time-consuming and effort-costly to obtain high-quality point cloud data for place recognition model training and ground truth for registration in the real world. To this end, a novel registration-aided 3D domain adaptation network for point cloud based place recognition is proposed. A structure-aware registration network is introduced to help to learn features with geometric information and a 6-DoFs pose between two point clouds with partial overlap can be estimated. The model is trained through a synthetic virtual LiDAR dataset through GTA-V with diverse weather and daytime conditions and domain adaptation is implemented to the real-world domain by aligning the global features. Our results outperform state-of-the-art 3D place recognition baselines or achieve comparable on the real-world Oxford RobotCar dataset with the visualization of registration on the virtual dataset.

A Novel Framework with Information Fusion and Neighborhood Enhancement for User Identity LinkageSiyuan Chen, Jiahai Wang, Xin Du et al.
User identity linkage across social networks is an essential problem for cross-network data mining. Since network structure, profile and content information describe different aspects of users, it is critical to learn effective user representations that integrate heterogeneous information. This paper proposes a novel framework with INformation FUsion and Neighborhood Enhancement (INFUNE) for user identity linkage. The information fusion component adopts a group of encoders and decoders to fuse heterogeneous information and generate discriminative node embeddings for preliminary matching. Then, these embeddings are fed to the neighborhood enhancement component, a novel graph neural network, to produce adaptive neighborhood embeddings that reflect the overlapping degree of neighborhoods of varying candidate user pairs. The importance of node embeddings and neighborhood embeddings are weighted for final prediction. The proposed method is evaluated on real-world social network data. The experimental results show that INFUNE significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.
