Visual Prompt Multi-Modal Tracking

Visible-modal object tracking gives rise to a series of downstream multi-modal tracking tributaries. To inherit the powerful representations of the foundation model, a natural modus operandi for multi-modal tracking is full fine-tuning on the RGB-based parameters. Albeit effective, this manner is not optimal due to the scarcity of downstream data and poor transferability, etc. In this paper, inspired by the recent success of the prompt learning in language models, we develop Visual Prompt multi-modal Tracking (ViPT), which learns the modal-relevant prompts to adapt the frozen pre-trained foundation model to various downstream multimodal tracking tasks. ViPT finds a better way to stimulate the knowledge of the RGB-based model that is pre-trained at scale, meanwhile only introducing a few trainable parameters (less than 1% of model parameters). ViPT outperforms the full fine-tuning paradigm on multiple downstream tracking tasks including RGB+Depth, RGB+Thermal, and RGB+Event tracking. Extensive experiments show the potential of visual prompt learning for multi-modal tracking, and ViPT can achieve state-of-the-art performance while satisfying parameter efficiency. DCPT: Darkness Clue-Prompted Tracking in Nighttime UAVs

Existing nighttime unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) trackers follow an "Enhance-then-Track" architecture - first using a light enhancer to brighten the nighttime video, then employing a daytime tracker to locate the object. This separate enhancement and tracking fails to build an end-to-end trainable vision system. To address this, we propose a novel architecture called Darkness Clue-Prompted Tracking (DCPT) that achieves robust UAV tracking at night by efficiently learning to generate darkness clue prompts. Without a separate enhancer, DCPT directly encodes anti-dark capabilities into prompts using a darkness clue prompter (DCP). Specifically, DCP iteratively learns emphasizing and undermining projections for darkness clues. It then injects these learned visual prompts into a daytime tracker with fixed parameters across transformer layers. Moreover, a gated feature aggregation mechanism enables adaptive fusion between prompts and between prompts and the base model. Extensive experiments show state-of-the-art performance for DCPT on multiple dark scenario benchmarks. The unified end-to-end learning of enhancement and tracking in DCPT enables a more trainable system. The darkness clue prompting efficiently injects anti-dark knowledge without extra modules. High-Performance Transformer Tracking

Correlation has a critical role in the tracking field, especially in recent popular Siamese-based trackers. The correlation operation is a simple fusion method that considers the similarity between the template and the search region. However, the correlation operation is a local linear matching process, losing semantic information and easily falling into a local optimum, which may be the bottleneck in designing high-accuracy tracking algorithms. In this work, to determine whether a better feature fusion method exists than correlation, a novel attention-based feature fusion network, inspired by the transformer, is presented. This network effectively combines the template and search region features using attention. Specifically, the proposed method includes an ego-context augment module based on self-attention and a cross-feature augment module based on cross-attention. First, we present a transformer tracking (named TransT) method based on the Siamese-like feature extraction backbone, the designed attention-based fusion mechanism, and the classification and regression head. Based on the TransT baseline, we further design a segmentation branch to generate an accurate mask. Finally, we propose a stronger version of TransT by extending TransT with a multi-template scheme and an IoU prediction head, named TransT-M. Experiments show that our TransT and TransT-M methods achieve promising results on seven popular datasets. Code and models are available at https://github.com/chenxin-dlut/TransT-M.

Unified Sequence-to-Sequence Learning for Single- and Multi-Modal Visual Object Tracking

In this paper, we introduce a new sequence-to-sequence learning framework for RGB-based and multi-modal object tracking. First, we present SeqTrack for RGB-based tracking. It casts visual tracking as a sequence generation task, forecasting object bounding boxes in an autoregressive manner. This differs from previous trackers, which depend on the design of intricate head networks, such as classification and regression heads. SeqTrack employs a basic encoder-decoder transformer architecture. The encoder utilizes a bidirectional transformer for feature extraction, while the decoder generates bounding box sequences autoregressively using a causal transformer. The loss function is a plain cross-entropy. Second, we introduce SeqTrackv2, a unified sequence-to-sequence framework for multi-modal tracking tasks. Expanding upon SeqTrack, SeqTrackv2 integrates a unified interface for auxiliary modalities and a set of task-prompt tokens to specify the task. This enables it to manage multi-modal tracking tasks using a unified model and parameter set. This sequence learning paradigm not only simplifies the tracking framework, but also showcases superior performance across 14 challenging benchmarks spanning five single- and multi-modal tracking tasks. Tracking Anything in High Quality

Visual object tracking is a fundamental video task in computer vision. Recently, the notably increasing power of perception algorithms allows the unification of single/multiobject and box/mask-based tracking. Among them, the Segment Anything Model (SAM) attracts much attention. In this report, we propose HQTrack, a framework for High Quality Tracking anything in videos. HQTrack mainly consists of a video multi-object segmenter (VMOS) and a mask refiner (MR). Given the object to be tracked in the initial frame of a video, VMOS propagates the object masks to the current frame. The mask results at this stage are not accurate enough since VMOS is trained on several closeset video object segmentation (VOS) datasets, which has limited ability to generalize to complex and corner scenes. To further improve the quality of tracking masks, a pretrained MR model is employed to refine the tracking results. As a compelling testament to the effectiveness of our paradigm, without employing any tricks such as test-time data augmentations and model ensemble, HQTrack ranks the 2nd place in the Visual Object Tracking and Segmentation (VOTS2023) challenge. Anomaly Detection under Distribution Shift

Anomaly detection (AD) is a crucial machine learning task that aims to learn patterns from a set of normal training samples to identify abnormal samples in test data. Most existing AD studies assume that the training and test data are drawn from the same data distribution, but the test data can have large distribution shifts arising in many real-world applications due to different natural variations such as new lighting conditions, object poses, or background appearances, rendering existing AD methods ineffective in such cases. In this paper, we consider the problem of anomaly detection under distribution shift and establish performance benchmarks on four widely-used AD and out-of-distribution (OOD) generalization datasets. We demonstrate that simple adaptation of state-of-the-art OOD generalization methods to AD settings fails to work effectively due to the lack of labeled anomaly data. We further introduce a novel robust AD approach to diverse distribution shifts by minimizing the distribution gap between in-distribution and OOD normal samples in both the training and inference stages in an unsupervised way. Our extensive empirical results on the four datasets show that our approach substantially outperforms state-of-the-art AD methods and OOD generalization methods on data with various distribution shifts, while maintaining the detection accuracy on in-distribution data. Anomaly Heterogeneity Learning for Open-set Supervised Anomaly Detection

Open-set supervised anomaly detection (OSAD) - a recently emerging anomaly detection area - aims at utilizing a few samples of anomaly classes seen during training to detect unseen anomalies (i.e., samples from open-set anomaly classes), while effectively identifying the seen anomalies. Benefiting from the prior knowledge illustrated by the seen anomalies, current OSAD methods can often largely reduce false positive errors. However, these methods are trained in a closed-set setting and treat the anomaly examples as from a homogeneous distribution, rendering them less effective in generalizing to unseen anomalies that can be drawn from any distribution. This paper proposes to learn heterogeneous anomaly distributions using the limited anomaly examples to address this issue. To this end, we introduce a novel approach, namely Anomaly Heterogeneity Learning (AHL), that simulates a diverse set of heterogeneous anomaly distributions and then utilizes them to learn a unified heterogeneous abnormality model in surrogate open-set environments. Further, AHL is a generic framework that existing OSAD models can plug and play for enhancing their abnormality modeling. Extensive experiments on nine real-world anomaly detection datasets show that AHL can 1) substantially enhance different state-of-the-art OSAD models in detecting seen and unseen anomalies, and 2) effectively generalize to unseen anomalies in new domains. SRRT: Exploring Search Region Regulation for Visual Object Tracking

The dominant trackers generate a fixed-size rectangular region based on the previous prediction or initial bounding box as the model input, i.e., search region. While this manner obtains promising tracking efficiency, a fixed-size search region lacks flexibility and is likely to fail in some cases, e.g., fast motion and distractor interference. Trackers tend to lose the target object due to the limited search region or experience interference from distractors due to the excessive search region. Drawing inspiration from the pattern humans track an object, we propose a novel tracking paradigm, called Search Region Regulation Tracking (SRRT) that applies a small eyereach when the target is captured and zooms out the search field when the target is about to be lost. SRRT applies a proposed search region regulator to estimate an optimal search region dynamically for each frame, by which the tracker can flexibly respond to transient changes in the location of object occurrences. To adapt the object's appearance variation during online tracking, we further propose a lockingstate determined updating strategy for reference frame updating. The proposed SRRT is concise without bells and whistles, yet achieves evident improvements and competitive results with other state-of-the-art trackers on eight benchmarks. On the large-scale LaSOT benchmark, SRRT improves SiamRPN++ and TransT with absolute gains of 4.6% and 3.1% in terms of AUC. The code and models will be released.

3rd Place Solution for PVUW2023 VSS Track: A Large Model for Semantic Segmentation on VSPW

In this paper, we introduce 3rd place solution for PVUW2023 VSS track. Semantic segmentation is a fundamental task in computer vision with numerous real-world applications. We have explored various image-level visual backbones and segmentation heads to tackle the problem of video semantic segmentation. Through our experimentation, we find that InternImage-H as the backbone and Mask2former as the segmentation head achieves the best performance. In addition, we explore two post-precessing methods: CascadePSP and Segment Anything Model (SAM). Ultimately, our approach obtains 62.60\% and 64.84\% mIoU on the VSPW test set1 and final test set, respectively, securing the third position in the PVUW2023 VSS track.

Dynamic TMoE: A Drift-Aware Dynamic Mixture of Experts Framework for Non-Stationary Time Series Forecasting

Non-stationary time series forecasting is challenged by evolving distribution shifts that static models struggle to capture. While Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architectures offer a promising paradigm for decoupling complex drift patterns, existing approaches are limited by fixed expert pools and memoryless routing, hampering their ability to adapt to abrupt regime shifts. To address this, we propose Dynamic TMoE, a framework that unifies architectural evolution with temporal continuity during learning phase. By detecting distribution shifts via Maximum Mean Discrepancy (MMD), we dynamically instantiate heterogeneous experts and prune redundant ones to optimize capacity. Additionally, a temporal memory router leverages recurrent states and an anomaly repository to ensure stable, context-aware expert selection without requiring test-time updates. Experiments on nine benchmarks demonstrate state-of-the-art performance, reducing MSE by 10.4% and MAE by 7.8%. Code is available at https://github.com/andone-07/Dynamic-TMoE.

AnomalyAgent: Training-Free Agentic Models for Zero-/Few-Shot Anomaly Detection

Benefiting from generalizability of vision-language models (VLMs) such as CLIP, many zero-/few-shot anomaly detection (AD) approaches have achieved impressive detection performance across various datasets. Nevertheless, they require substantial training on large auxiliary datasets to adapt VLMs to anomaly detection, and their inference largely relies on visual-text embedding similarity-based anomaly scores, lacking reasoning abilities to detect complex anomalies that require in-depth contextual understanding. To address this limitation, we propose \textbf{AnomalyAgent}, a novel training-free, agentic framework that leverages the advanced reasoning and generalization capabilities of multimodal large language models (MLLMs) for anomaly detection. The key ingredients include \textbf{1)} a comprehensive anomaly-centric toolset that enables adaptive MLLM-driven, agentic anomaly reasoning in zero-shot settings, and \textbf{2)} a customized memory module that grounds anomaly reasoning with few-shot, in-context reference examples. We extend evaluation beyond the detection of simple anomalies (e.g., surface defects like cracks and dents and clear lesions) in widely used benchmarks to more diverse types of anomalies such as logical/contextual anomalies in logistics and manufacturing settings. Extensive experiment results demonstrate that our AnomalyAgent achieves substantially better performance compared to training-free VLM-based AD and generic agentic methods, highlighting its superior generalization capability in both zero-shot and few-shot anomaly detection settings. Unleashing Vision-Language Semantics for Deepfake Video Detection

Recent Deepfake Video Detection (DFD) studies have demonstrated that pre-trained Vision-Language Models (VLMs) such as CLIP exhibit strong generalization capabilities in detecting artifacts across different identities. However, existing approaches focus on leveraging visual features only, overlooking their most distinctive strength -- the rich vision-language semantics embedded in the latent space. We propose VLAForge, a novel DFD framework that unleashes the potential of such cross-modal semantics to enhance model's discriminability in deepfake detection. This work i) enhances the visual perception of VLM through a ForgePerceiver, which acts as an independent learner to capture diverse, subtle forgery cues both granularly and holistically, while preserving the pretrained Vision-Language Alignment (VLA) knowledge, and ii) provides a complementary discriminative cue -- Identity-Aware VLA score, derived by coupling cross-modal semantics with the forgery cues learned by ForgePerceiver. Notably, the VLA score is augmented by an identity prior-informed text prompting to capture authenticity cues tailored to each identity, thereby enabling more discriminative cross-modal semantics. Comprehensive experiments on video DFD benchmarks, including classical face-swapping forgeries and recent full-face generation forgeries, demonstrate that our VLAForge substantially outperforms state-of-the-art methods at both frame and video levels. MambaVT: Spatio-Temporal Contextual Modeling for robust RGB-T Tracking

Existing RGB-T tracking algorithms have made remarkable progress by leveraging the global interaction capability and extensive pre-trained models of the Transformer architecture. Nonetheless, these methods mainly adopt imagepair appearance matching and face challenges of the intrinsic high quadratic complexity of the attention mechanism, resulting in constrained exploitation of temporal information. Inspired by the recently emerged State Space Model Mamba, renowned for its impressive long sequence modeling capabilities and linear computational complexity, this work innovatively proposes a pure Mamba-based framework (MambaVT) to fully exploit spatio-temporal contextual modeling for robust visible-thermal tracking. Specifically, we devise the long-range cross-frame integration component to globally adapt to target appearance variations, and introduce short-term historical trajectory prompts to predict the subsequent target states based on local temporal location clues. Extensive experiments show the significant potential of vision Mamba for RGB-T tracking, with MambaVT achieving state-of-the-art performance on four mainstream benchmarks while requiring lower computational costs. We aim for this work to serve as a simple yet strong baseline, stimulating future research in this field. The code and pre-trained models will be made available.

Toward Generalist Anomaly Detection via In-context Residual Learning with Few-shot Sample Prompts

This paper explores the problem of Generalist Anomaly Detection (GAD), aiming to train one single detection model that can generalize to detect anomalies in diverse datasets from different application domains without any further training on the target data. Some recent studies have shown that large pre-trained Visual-Language Models (VLMs) like CLIP have strong generalization capabilities on detecting industrial defects from various datasets, but their methods rely heavily on handcrafted text prompts about defects, making them difficult to generalize to anomalies in other applications, e.g., medical image anomalies or semantic anomalies in natural images. In this work, we propose to train a GAD model with few-shot normal images as sample prompts for AD on diverse datasets on the fly. To this end, we introduce a novel approach that learns an in-context residual learning model for GAD, termed InCTRL. It is trained on an auxiliary dataset to discriminate anomalies from normal samples based on a holistic evaluation of the residuals between query images and few-shot normal sample prompts. Regardless of the datasets, per definition of anomaly, larger residuals are expected for anomalies than normal samples, thereby enabling InCTRL to generalize across different domains without further training. Comprehensive experiments on nine AD datasets are performed to establish a GAD benchmark that encapsulate the detection of industrial defect anomalies, medical anomalies, and semantic anomalies in both one-vs-all and multi-class setting, on which InCTRL is the best performer and significantly outperforms state-of-the-art competing methods. SUTrack: Towards Simple and Unified Single Object Tracking

In this paper, we propose a simple yet unified single object tracking (SOT) framework, dubbed SUTrack. It consolidates five SOT tasks (RGB-based, RGB-Depth, RGB-Thermal, RGB-Event, RGB-Language Tracking) into a unified model trained in a single session. Due to the distinct nature of the data, current methods typically design individual architectures and train separate models for each task. This fragmentation results in redundant training processes, repetitive technological innovations, and limited cross-modal knowledge sharing. In contrast, SUTrack demonstrates that a single model with a unified input representation can effectively handle various common SOT tasks, eliminating the need for task-specific designs and separate training sessions. Additionally, we introduce a task-recognition auxiliary training strategy and a soft token type embedding to further enhance SUTrack's performance with minimal overhead. Experiments show that SUTrack outperforms previous task-specific counterparts across 11 datasets spanning five SOT tasks. Moreover, we provide a range of models catering edge devices as well as high-performance GPUs, striking a good trade-off between speed and accuracy. Tracking with Human-Intent Reasoning

Advances in perception modeling have significantly improved the performance of object tracking. However, the current methods for specifying the target object in the initial frame are either by 1) using a box or mask template, or by 2) providing an explicit language description. These manners are cumbersome and do not allow the tracker to have self-reasoning ability. Therefore, this work proposes a new tracking task -- Instruction Tracking, which involves providing implicit tracking instructions that require the trackers to perform tracking automatically in video frames. To achieve this, we investigate the integration of knowledge and reasoning capabilities from a Large Vision-Language Model (LVLM) for object tracking. Specifically, we propose a tracker called TrackGPT, which is capable of performing complex reasoning-based tracking. TrackGPT first uses LVLM to understand tracking instructions and condense the cues of what target to track into referring embeddings. The perception component then generates the tracking results based on the embeddings. To evaluate the performance of TrackGPT, we construct an instruction tracking benchmark called InsTrack, which contains over one thousand instruction-video pairs for instruction tuning and evaluation. Experiments show that TrackGPT achieves competitive performance on referring video object segmentation benchmarks, such as getting a new state-of the-art performance of 66.5 $\mathcal{J}\&\mathcal{F}$ on Refer-DAVIS. It also demonstrates a superior performance of instruction tracking under new evaluation protocols. Streaming Video Understanding and Multi-round Interaction with Memory-enhanced Knowledge

Recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have enabled the development of Video-LLMs, advancing multimodal learning by bridging video data with language tasks. However, current video understanding models struggle with processing long video sequences, supporting multi-turn dialogues, and adapting to real-world dynamic scenarios. To address these issues, we propose StreamChat, a training-free framework for streaming video reasoning and conversational interaction. $\StreamChat$ leverages a novel hierarchical memory system to efficiently process and compress video features over extended sequences, enabling real-time, multi-turn dialogue. Our framework incorporates a parallel system scheduling strategy that enhances processing speed and reduces latency, ensuring robust performance in real-world applications. Furthermore, we introduce StreamBench, a versatile benchmark that evaluates streaming video understanding across diverse media types and interactive scenarios, including multi-turn interactions and complex reasoning tasks. Extensive evaluations on StreamBench and other public benchmarks demonstrate that StreamChat significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art models in terms of accuracy and response times, confirming its effectiveness for streaming video understanding. Two-stream Beats One-stream: Asymmetric Siamese Network for Efficient Visual Tracking

Efficient tracking has garnered attention for its ability to operate on resource-constrained platforms for real-world deployment beyond desktop GPUs. Current efficient trackers mainly follow precision-oriented trackers, adopting a one-stream framework with lightweight modules. However, blindly adhering to the one-stream paradigm may not be optimal, as incorporating template computation in every frame leads to redundancy, and pervasive semantic interaction between template and search region places stress on edge devices. In this work, we propose a novel asymmetric Siamese tracker named \textbf{AsymTrack} for efficient tracking. AsymTrack disentangles template and search streams into separate branches, with template computing only once during initialization to generate modulation signals. Building on this architecture, we devise an efficient template modulation mechanism to unidirectional inject crucial cues into the search features, and design an object perception enhancement module that integrates abstract semantics and local details to overcome the limited representation in lightweight tracker. Extensive experiments demonstrate that AsymTrack offers superior speed-precision trade-offs across different platforms compared to the current state-of-the-arts. For instance, AsymTrack-T achieves 60.8\% AUC on LaSOT and 224/81/84 FPS on GPU/CPU/AGX, surpassing HiT-Tiny by 6.0\% AUC with higher speeds. GMSR:Gradient-Guided Mamba for Spectral Reconstruction from RGB Images

Mainstream approaches to spectral reconstruction (SR) primarily focus on designing Convolution- and Transformer-based architectures. However, CNN methods often face challenges in handling long-range dependencies, whereas Transformers are constrained by computational efficiency limitations. Recent breakthroughs in state-space model (e.g., Mamba) has attracted significant attention due to its near-linear computational efficiency and superior performance, prompting our investigation into its potential for SR problem. To this end, we propose the Gradient-guided Mamba for Spectral Reconstruction from RGB Images, dubbed GMSR-Net. GMSR-Net is a lightweight model characterized by a global receptive field and linear computational complexity. Its core comprises multiple stacked Gradient Mamba (GM) blocks, each featuring a tri-branch structure. In addition to benefiting from efficient global feature representation by Mamba block, we further innovatively introduce spatial gradient attention and spectral gradient attention to guide the reconstruction of spatial and spectral cues. GMSR-Net demonstrates a significant accuracy-efficiency trade-off, achieving state-of-the-art performance while markedly reducing the number of parameters and computational burdens. Compared to existing approaches, GMSR-Net slashes parameters and FLOPS by substantial margins of 10 times and 20 times, respectively. Code is available at https://github.com/wxy11-27/GMSR.

YOLO-Master: MOE-Accelerated with Specialized Transformers for Enhanced Real-time Detection

Existing Real-Time Object Detection (RTOD) methods commonly adopt YOLO-like architectures for their favorable trade-off between accuracy and speed. However, these models rely on static dense computation that applies uniform processing to all inputs, misallocating representational capacity and computational resources such as over-allocating on trivial scenes while under-serving complex ones. This mismatch results in both computational redundancy and suboptimal detection performance. To overcome this limitation, we propose YOLO-Master, a novel YOLO-like framework that introduces instance-conditional adaptive computation for RTOD. This is achieved through a Efficient Sparse Mixture-of-Experts (ES-MoE) block that dynamically allocates computational resources to each input according to its scene complexity. At its core, a lightweight dynamic routing network guides expert specialization during training through a diversity enhancing objective, encouraging complementary expertise among experts. Additionally, the routing network adaptively learns to activate only the most relevant experts, thereby improving detection performance while minimizing computational overhead during inference. Comprehensive experiments on five large-scale benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of YOLO-Master. On MS COCO, our model achieves 42.4% AP with 1.62ms latency, outperforming YOLOv13-N by +0.8% mAP and 17.8% faster inference. Notably, the gains are most pronounced on challenging dense scenes, while the model preserves efficiency on typical inputs and maintains real-time inference speed. Code will be available.

3UR-LLM: An End-to-End Multimodal Large Language Model for 3D Scene Understanding

Multi-modal Large Language Models (MLLMs) exhibit impressive capabilities in 2D tasks, yet encounter challenges in discerning the spatial positions, interrelations, and causal logic in scenes when transitioning from 2D to 3D representations. We find that the limitations mainly lie in: i) the high annotation cost restricting the scale-up of volumes of 3D scene data, and ii) the lack of a straightforward and effective way to perceive 3D information which results in prolonged training durations and complicates the streamlined framework. To this end, we develop pipeline based on open-source 2D MLLMs and LLMs to generate high-quality 3D-text pairs and construct 3DS-160K , to enhance the pre-training process. Leveraging this high-quality pre-training data, we introduce the 3UR-LLM model, an end-to-end 3D MLLM designed for precise interpretation of 3D scenes, showcasing exceptional capability in navigating the complexities of the physical world. 3UR-LLM directly receives 3D point cloud as input and project 3D features fused with text instructions into a manageable set of tokens. Considering the computation burden derived from these hybrid tokens, we design a 3D compressor module to cohesively compress the 3D spatial cues and textual narrative. 3UR-LLM achieves promising performance with respect to the previous SOTAs, for instance, 3UR-LLM exceeds its counterparts by 7.1\% CIDEr on ScanQA, while utilizing fewer training resources. GSSF: Generalized Structural Sparse Function for Deep Cross-modal Metric Learning

Cross-modal metric learning is a prominent research topic that bridges the semantic heterogeneity between vision and language. Existing methods frequently utilize simple cosine or complex distance metrics to transform the pairwise features into a similarity score, which suffers from an inadequate or inefficient capability for distance measurements. Consequently, we propose a Generalized Structural Sparse Function to dynamically capture thorough and powerful relationships across modalities for pair-wise similarity learning while remaining concise but efficient. Specifically, the distance metric delicately encapsulates two formats of diagonal and block-diagonal terms, automatically distinguishing and highlighting the cross-channel relevancy and dependency inside a structured and organized topology. Hence, it thereby empowers itself to adapt to the optimal matching patterns between the paired features and reaches a sweet spot between model complexity and capability. Extensive experiments on cross-modal and two extra uni-modal retrieval tasks (image-text retrieval, person re-identification, fine-grained image retrieval) have validated its superiority and flexibility over various popular retrieval frameworks. More importantly, we further discover that it can be seamlessly incorporated into multiple application scenarios, and demonstrates promising prospects from Attention Mechanism to Knowledge Distillation in a plug-and-play manner. Fine-grained Abnormality Prompt Learning for Zero-shot Anomaly Detection

Current zero-shot anomaly detection (ZSAD) methods show remarkable success in prompting large pre-trained vision-language models to detect anomalies in a target dataset without using any dataset-specific training or demonstration. However, these methods often focus on crafting/learning prompts that capture only coarse-grained semantics of abnormality, e.g., high-level semantics like "damaged", "imperfect", or "defective" objects. They therefore have limited capability in recognizing diverse abnormality details that deviate from these general abnormal patterns in various ways. To address this limitation, we propose FAPrompt, a novel framework designed to learn Fine-grained Abnormality Prompts for accurate ZSAD. To this end, a novel Compound Abnormality Prompt learning (CAP) module is introduced in FAPrompt to learn a set of complementary, decomposed abnormality prompts, where abnormality prompts are enforced to model diverse abnormal patterns derived from the same normality semantic. On the other hand, the fine-grained abnormality patterns can be different from one dataset to another. To enhance the cross-dataset generalization, another novel module, namely Data-dependent Abnormality Prior learning (DAP), is introduced in FAPrompt to learn a sample-wise abnormality prior from abnormal features of each test image to dynamically adapt the abnormality prompts to individual test images. Comprehensive experiments on 19 real-world datasets, covering both industrial defects and medical anomalies, demonstrate that FAPrompt substantially outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both image- and pixel-level ZSAD tasks. Switching Efficiency: A Novel Framework for Dissecting AI Data Center Network Efficiency

Communication is pivotal in LLM training, and a thorough analysis of the communication efficiency of AI data center (AIDC) network is essential for guiding the design of these capital-intensive clusters. However, conventional metrics are inadequate for such analysis, as they do not directly link network activity to computational progress and lack granularity to diagnose the impact of different network design patterns. To address this, we introduce a metric framework, the Switching Efficiency Framework, whose core metric - Switching Efficiency ($η$) - quantifies computationally effective data throughput per unit switching capacity. We further decompose $η$ into three factors - Data, Routing Efficiency, and Port Utilization to facilitate analysis of distinct communication bottlenecks. Using this metric framework, we demonstrate how the symmetric, distributed switching of 3D-Torus and the centralized, hierarchical switching of Rail-Optimized architecture align with sparse or imbalanced LLM training traffic, and show that All-to-All traffic from Mixture-of-Experts models severely degrades their port utilization and routing efficiency. Our analysis also demonstrates how key design choices - such as adjusting switching resource allocation, expanding server size, adopting in-network computing, and multi-plane design - positively influence distinct facets of communication efficiency. Ultimately, the Switching Efficiency Framework provides an analytical tool for analyzing efficiency bottlenecks, thereby informing the design of future-generation AIDC networks.

Regularizing Subspace Redundancy of Low-Rank Adaptation

Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) and its variants have delivered strong capability in Parameter-Efficient Transfer Learning (PETL) by minimizing trainable parameters and benefiting from reparameterization. However, their projection matrices remain unrestricted during training, causing high representation redundancy and diminishing the effectiveness of feature adaptation in the resulting subspaces. While existing methods mitigate this by manually adjusting the rank or implicitly applying channel-wise masks, they lack flexibility and generalize poorly across various datasets and architectures. Hence, we propose ReSoRA, a method that explicitly models redundancy between mapping subspaces and adaptively Regularizes Subspace redundancy of Low-Rank Adaptation. Specifically, it theoretically decomposes the low-rank submatrices into multiple equivalent subspaces and systematically applies de-redundancy constraints to the feature distributions across different projections. Extensive experiments validate that our proposed method consistently facilitates existing state-of-the-art PETL methods across various backbones and datasets in vision-language retrieval and standard visual classification benchmarks. Besides, as a training supervision, ReSoRA can be seamlessly integrated into existing approaches in a plug-and-play manner, with no additional inference costs. Adapting Large Language Models for Parameter-Efficient Log Anomaly Detection

Log Anomaly Detection (LAD) seeks to identify atypical patterns in log data that are crucial to assessing the security and condition of systems. Although Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown tremendous success in various fields, the use of LLMs in enabling the detection of log anomalies is largely unexplored. This work aims to fill this gap. Due to the prohibitive costs involved in fully fine-tuning LLMs, we explore the use of parameter-efficient fine-tuning techniques (PEFTs) for adapting LLMs to LAD. To have an in-depth exploration of the potential of LLM-driven LAD, we present a comprehensive investigation of leveraging two of the most popular PEFTs -- Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) and Representation Fine-tuning (ReFT) -- to tap into three prominent LLMs of varying size, including RoBERTa, GPT-2, and Llama-3, for parameter-efficient LAD. Comprehensive experiments on four public log datasets are performed to reveal important insights into effective LLM-driven LAD in several key perspectives, including the efficacy of these PEFT-based LLM-driven LAD methods, their stability, sample efficiency, robustness w.r.t. unstable logs, and cross-dataset generalization. Transformer Tracking

Correlation acts as a critical role in the tracking field, especially in recent popular Siamese-based trackers. The correlation operation is a simple fusion manner to consider the similarity between the template and the search region. However, the correlation operation itself is a local linear matching process, leading to lose semantic information and fall into local optimum easily, which may be the bottleneck of designing high-accuracy tracking algorithms. Is there any better feature fusion method than correlation? To address this issue, inspired by Transformer, this work presents a novel attention-based feature fusion network, which effectively combines the template and search region features solely using attention. Specifically, the proposed method includes an ego-context augment module based on self-attention and a cross-feature augment module based on cross-attention. Finally, we present a Transformer tracking (named TransT) method based on the Siamese-like feature extraction backbone, the designed attention-based fusion mechanism, and the classification and regression head. Experiments show that our TransT achieves very promising results on six challenging datasets, especially on large-scale LaSOT, TrackingNet, and GOT-10k benchmarks. EmoWear: Exploring Emotional Teasers for Voice Message Interaction on Smartwatches

Voice messages, by nature, prevent users from gauging the emotional tone without fully diving into the audio content. This hinders the shared emotional experience at the pre-retrieval stage. Research scarcely explored "Emotional Teasers"-pre-retrieval cues offering a glimpse into an awaiting message's emotional tone without disclosing its content. We introduce EmoWear, a smartwatch voice messaging system enabling users to apply 30 animation teasers on message bubbles to reflect emotions. EmoWear eases senders' choice by prioritizing emotions based on semantic and acoustic processing. EmoWear was evaluated in comparison with a mirroring system using color-coded message bubbles as emotional cues (N=24). Results showed EmoWear significantly enhanced emotional communication experience in both receiving and sending messages. The animated teasers were considered intuitive and valued for diverse expressions. Desirable interaction qualities and practical implications are distilled for future design. We thereby contribute both a novel system and empirical knowledge concerning emotional teasers for voice messaging.

Exploring Dynamic Transformer for Efficient Object Tracking

The speed-precision trade-off is a critical problem for visual object tracking which usually requires low latency and deployment on constrained resources. Existing solutions for efficient tracking mainly focus on adopting light-weight backbones or modules, which nevertheless come at the cost of a sacrifice in precision. In this paper, inspired by dynamic network routing, we propose DyTrack, a dynamic transformer framework for efficient tracking. Real-world tracking scenarios exhibit diverse levels of complexity. We argue that a simple network is sufficient for easy frames in video sequences, while more computation could be assigned to difficult ones. DyTrack automatically learns to configure proper reasoning routes for various inputs, gaining better utilization of the available computational budget. Thus, it can achieve higher performance with the same running speed. We formulate instance-specific tracking as a sequential decision problem and attach terminating branches to intermediate layers of the entire model. Especially, to fully utilize the computations, we introduce the feature recycling mechanism to reuse the outputs of predecessors. Furthermore, a target-aware self-distillation strategy is designed to enhance the discriminating capabilities of early predictions by effectively mimicking the representation pattern of the deep model. Extensive experiments on multiple benchmarks demonstrate that DyTrack achieves promising speed-precision trade-offs with only a single model. For instance, DyTrack obtains 64.9% AUC on LaSOT with a speed of 256 fps.

InCTRLv2: Generalist Residual Models for Few-Shot Anomaly Detection and Segmentation

While recent anomaly detection (AD) methods have made substantial progress in recognizing abnormal patterns within specific domains, most of them are specialist models that are trained on large training samples from a specific target dataset, struggling to generalize to unseen datasets. To address this limitation, the paradigm of Generalist Anomaly Detection (GAD) has emerged in recent years, aiming to learn a single generalist model to detect anomalies across diverse domains without retraining. To this end, this work introduces InCTRLv2, a novel few-shot Generalist Anomaly Detection and Segmentation (GADS) framework that significantly extends our previously proposed GAD model, InCTRL. Building on the idea of learning in-context residuals with few-shot normal examples to detect anomalies as in InCTRL, InCTRLv2 introduces two new, complementary perspectives of anomaly perception under a dual-branch framework. This is accomplished by two novel modules upon InCTRL: i) Discriminative Anomaly Score Learning (DASL) with both normal and abnormal data in the main branch, which learns a semantic-guided abnormality and normality space that supports the classification of query samples from both the abnormality and normality perspectives; and ii) One-class Anomaly Score Learning (OASL) using only the normal data, which learns generalized normality patterns in a semantic space via an auxiliary branch, focusing on detecting anomalies through the lens of normality solely. Both branches are guided by rich visual-text semantic priors encoded by large-scale vision-language models. Together, they offer a dual semantic perspective for AD: one emphasizes normal-abnormal discriminations, while the other emphasizes normality-deviated semantics. Extensive experiments on ten AD datasets demonstrate that InCTRLv2 achieves SotA performance in both anomaly detection and segmentation tasks across various settings.

UCDR-Adapter: Exploring Adaptation of Pre-Trained Vision-Language Models for Universal Cross-Domain Retrieval

Universal Cross-Domain Retrieval (UCDR) retrieves relevant images from unseen domains and classes without semantic labels, ensuring robust generalization. Existing methods commonly employ prompt tuning with pre-trained vision-language models but are inherently limited by static prompts, reducing adaptability. We propose UCDR-Adapter, which enhances pre-trained models with adapters and dynamic prompt generation through a two-phase training strategy. First, Source Adapter Learning integrates class semantics with domain-specific visual knowledge using a Learnable Textual Semantic Template and optimizes Class and Domain Prompts via momentum updates and dual loss functions for robust alignment. Second, Target Prompt Generation creates dynamic prompts by attending to masked source prompts, enabling seamless adaptation to unseen domains and classes. Unlike prior approaches, UCDR-Adapter dynamically adapts to evolving data distributions, enhancing both flexibility and generalization. During inference, only the image branch and generated prompts are used, eliminating reliance on textual inputs for highly efficient retrieval. Extensive benchmark experiments show that UCDR-Adapter consistently outperforms ProS in most cases and other state-of-the-art methods on UCDR, U(c)CDR, and U(d)CDR settings.

AutoChart: A Dataset for Chart-to-Text Generation Task

The analytical description of charts is an exciting and important research area with many applications in academia and industry. Yet, this challenging task has received limited attention from the computational linguistics research community. This paper proposes \textsf{AutoChart}, a large dataset for the analytical description of charts, which aims to encourage more research into this important area. Specifically, we offer a novel framework that generates the charts and their analytical description automatically. We conducted extensive human and machine evaluations on the generated charts and descriptions and demonstrate that the generated texts are informative, coherent, and relevant to the corresponding charts.
