Evaluating the Usability of LLMs in Threat Intelligence Enrichment

Large Language Models (LLMs) have the potential to significantly enhance threat intelligence by automating the collection, preprocessing, and analysis of threat data. However, the usability of these tools is critical to ensure their effective adoption by security professionals. Despite the advanced capabilities of LLMs, concerns about their reliability, accuracy, and potential for generating inaccurate information persist. This study conducts a comprehensive usability evaluation of five LLMs ChatGPT, Gemini, Cohere, Copilot, and Meta AI focusing on their user interface design, error handling, learning curve, performance, and integration with existing tools in threat intelligence enrichment. Utilizing a heuristic walkthrough and a user study methodology, we identify key usability issues and offer actionable recommendations for improvement. Our findings aim to bridge the gap between LLM functionality and user experience, thereby promoting more efficient and accurate threat intelligence practices by ensuring these tools are user-friendly and reliable.

A Survey on Multi-modal Summarization

The new era of technology has brought us to the point where it is convenient for people to share their opinions over an abundance of platforms. These platforms have a provision for the users to express themselves in multiple forms of representations, including text, images, videos, and audio. This, however, makes it difficult for users to obtain all the key information about a topic, making the task of automatic multi-modal summarization (MMS) essential. In this paper, we present a comprehensive survey of the existing research in the area of MMS, covering various modalities like text, image, audio, and video. Apart from highlighting the different evaluation metrics and datasets used for the MMS task, our work also discusses the current challenges and future directions in this field.

Multi-Modal Summary Generation using Multi-Objective Optimization

Significant development of communication technology over the past few years has motivated research in multi-modal summarization techniques. A majority of the previous works on multi-modal summarization focus on text and images. In this paper, we propose a novel extractive multi-objective optimization based model to produce a multi-modal summary containing text, images, and videos. Important objectives such as intra-modality salience, cross-modal redundancy and cross-modal similarity are optimized simultaneously in a multi-objective optimization framework to produce effective multi-modal output. The proposed model has been evaluated separately for different modalities, and has been found to perform better than state-of-the-art approaches.
