LiFR-Seg: Anytime High-Frame-Rate Segmentation via Event-Guided Propagation

Dense semantic segmentation in dynamic environments is fundamentally limited by the low-frame-rate (LFR) nature of standard cameras, which creates critical perceptual gaps between frames. To solve this, we introduce Anytime Interframe Semantic Segmentation: a new task for predicting segmentation at any arbitrary time using only a single past RGB frame and a stream of asynchronous event data. This task presents a core challenge: how to robustly propagate dense semantic features using a motion field derived from sparse and often noisy event data, all while mitigating feature degradation in highly dynamic scenes. We propose LiFR-Seg, a novel framework that directly addresses these challenges by propagating deep semantic features through time. The core of our method is an uncertainty-aware warping process, guided by an event-driven motion field and its learned, explicit confidence. A temporal memory attention module further ensures coherence in dynamic scenarios. We validate our method on the DSEC dataset and a new high-frequency synthetic benchmark (SHF-DSEC) we contribute. Remarkably, our LFR system achieves performance (73.82% mIoU on DSEC) that is statistically indistinguishable from an HFR upper-bound (within 0.09%) that has full access to the target frame. This work presents a new, efficient paradigm for achieving robust, high-frame-rate perception with low-frame-rate hardware. Pruning random resistive memory for optimizing analogue AI

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has been marked by the large language models exhibiting human-like intelligence. However, these models also present unprecedented challenges to energy consumption and environmental sustainability. One promising solution is to revisit analogue computing, a technique that predates digital computing and exploits emerging analogue electronic devices, such as resistive memory, which features in-memory computing, high scalability, and nonvolatility. However, analogue computing still faces the same challenges as before: programming nonidealities and expensive programming due to the underlying devices physics. Here, we report a universal solution, software-hardware co-design using structural plasticity-inspired edge pruning to optimize the topology of a randomly weighted analogue resistive memory neural network. Software-wise, the topology of a randomly weighted neural network is optimized by pruning connections rather than precisely tuning resistive memory weights. Hardware-wise, we reveal the physical origin of the programming stochasticity using transmission electron microscopy, which is leveraged for large-scale and low-cost implementation of an overparameterized random neural network containing high-performance sub-networks. We implemented the co-design on a 40nm 256K resistive memory macro, observing 17.3% and 19.9% accuracy improvements in image and audio classification on FashionMNIST and Spoken digits datasets, as well as 9.8% (2%) improvement in PR (ROC) in image segmentation on DRIVE datasets, respectively. This is accompanied by 82.1%, 51.2%, and 99.8% improvement in energy efficiency thanks to analogue in-memory computing. By embracing the intrinsic stochasticity and in-memory computing, this work may solve the biggest obstacle of analogue computing systems and thus unleash their immense potential for next-generation AI hardware.

Dynamic neural network with memristive CIM and CAM for 2D and 3D vision

The brain is dynamic, associative and efficient. It reconfigures by associating the inputs with past experiences, with fused memory and processing. In contrast, AI models are static, unable to associate inputs with past experiences, and run on digital computers with physically separated memory and processing. We propose a hardware-software co-design, a semantic memory-based dynamic neural network (DNN) using memristor. The network associates incoming data with the past experience stored as semantic vectors. The network and the semantic memory are physically implemented on noise-robust ternary memristor-based Computing-In-Memory (CIM) and Content-Addressable Memory (CAM) circuits, respectively. We validate our co-designs, using a 40nm memristor macro, on ResNet and PointNet++ for classifying images and 3D points from the MNIST and ModelNet datasets, which not only achieves accuracy on par with software but also a 48.1% and 15.9% reduction in computational budget. Moreover, it delivers a 77.6% and 93.3% reduction in energy consumption.

Topology Optimization of Random Memristors for Input-Aware Dynamic SNN

There is unprecedented development in machine learning, exemplified by recent large language models and world simulators, which are artificial neural networks running on digital computers. However, they still cannot parallel human brains in terms of energy efficiency and the streamlined adaptability to inputs of different difficulties, due to differences in signal representation, optimization, run-time reconfigurability, and hardware architecture. To address these fundamental challenges, we introduce pruning optimization for input-aware dynamic memristive spiking neural network (PRIME). Signal representation-wise, PRIME employs leaky integrate-and-fire neurons to emulate the brain's inherent spiking mechanism. Drawing inspiration from the brain's structural plasticity, PRIME optimizes the topology of a random memristive spiking neural network without expensive memristor conductance fine-tuning. For runtime reconfigurability, inspired by the brain's dynamic adjustment of computational depth, PRIME employs an input-aware dynamic early stop policy to minimize latency during inference, thereby boosting energy efficiency without compromising performance. Architecture-wise, PRIME leverages memristive in-memory computing, mirroring the brain and mitigating the von Neumann bottleneck. We validated our system using a 40 nm 256 Kb memristor-based in-memory computing macro on neuromorphic image classification and image inpainting. Our results demonstrate the classification accuracy and Inception Score are comparable to the software baseline, while achieving maximal 62.50-fold improvements in energy efficiency, and maximal 77.0% computational load savings. The system also exhibits robustness against stochastic synaptic noise of analogue memristors. Our software-hardware co-designed model paves the way to future brain-inspired neuromorphic computing with brain-like energy efficiency and adaptivity.

EAG3R: Event-Augmented 3D Geometry Estimation for Dynamic and Extreme-Lighting Scenes

Robust 3D geometry estimation from videos is critical for applications such as autonomous navigation, SLAM, and 3D scene reconstruction. Recent methods like DUSt3R demonstrate that regressing dense pointmaps from image pairs enables accurate and efficient pose-free reconstruction. However, existing RGB-only approaches struggle under real-world conditions involving dynamic objects and extreme illumination, due to the inherent limitations of conventional cameras. In this paper, we propose EAG3R, a novel geometry estimation framework that augments pointmap-based reconstruction with asynchronous event streams. Built upon the MonST3R backbone, EAG3R introduces two key innovations: (1) a retinex-inspired image enhancement module and a lightweight event adapter with SNR-aware fusion mechanism that adaptively combines RGB and event features based on local reliability; and (2) a novel event-based photometric consistency loss that reinforces spatiotemporal coherence during global optimization. Our method enables robust geometry estimation in challenging dynamic low-light scenes without requiring retraining on night-time data. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EAG3R significantly outperforms state-of-the-art RGB-only baselines across monocular depth estimation, camera pose tracking, and dynamic reconstruction tasks.

VideoSSM: Autoregressive Long Video Generation with Hybrid State-Space Memory

Autoregressive (AR) diffusion enables streaming, interactive long-video generation by producing frames causally, yet maintaining coherence over minute-scale horizons remains challenging due to accumulated errors, motion drift, and content repetition. We approach this problem from a memory perspective, treating video synthesis as a recurrent dynamical process that requires coordinated short- and long-term context. We propose VideoSSM, a Long Video Model that unifies AR diffusion with a hybrid state-space memory. The state-space model (SSM) serves as an evolving global memory of scene dynamics across the entire sequence, while a context window provides local memory for motion cues and fine details. This hybrid design preserves global consistency without frozen, repetitive patterns, supports prompt-adaptive interaction, and scales in linear time with sequence length. Experiments on short- and long-range benchmarks demonstrate state-of-the-art temporal consistency and motion stability among autoregressive video generator especially at minute-scale horizons, enabling content diversity and interactive prompt-based control, thereby establishing a scalable, memory-aware framework for long video generation.

PhysEditBench: A Protocol-Conditioned Benchmark for Dense Physical-Map Prediction with Image Editors

Can general-purpose image editors predict physical maps from a single RGB image? General-purpose image editors differ from standard task-specific dense-prediction models: they do not directly take an image and output a physical map. Instead, they must be guided by prompts, examples, or image-based textual cues. To this end, we introduce PhysEditBench, a novel protocol-conditioned benchmark to evaluate and standardize image editors in dense physical-map prediction that covers five targets: depth, normal, albedo, roughness, and metallic maps. For evaluation data, we build a target-dependent benchmark substrate. We use OpenRooms-FF for depth, surface normal, albedo, and roughness, InteriorVerse as an additional source for depth, normal, albedo, and a new procedurally generated source for metallic maps. We curate the data with quality checks, valid-region masks, scene-level sampling, and lighting-based stress subsets to ensure reliable and diverse evaluation. For each target, PhysEditBench defines a fixed protocol that specifies the allowed input, expected output format, and scoring procedure. Each score, therefore, reflects the performance of a model under a specified protocol, rather than its best possible performance under all prompts or interaction modes. Experimental results show that specialized models remain much stronger on depth, normal, and albedo, and stronger image editors can produce more reasonable map-like outputs. For roughness and metallic, image editors can match or outperform specialized baselines on some scalar metrics, but they still suffer from structural errors, sparsity effects, and sensitivity to lighting.

A Lagrangian Conditional Gaussian Koopman Network for Data Assimilation and Prediction

Lagrangian data assimilation aims to recover hidden Eulerian flow fields from sparse, indirect observations of moving tracers. This problem is challenging because tracer trajectories are nonlinearly coupled with the underlying flow, making posterior inference computationally intractable in realistic, high-dimensional systems. In this work, we develop a Lagrangian conditional Gaussian Koopman network (LaCGKN), a structure-preserving, data-driven framework for joint data assimilation and prediction from Lagrangian observations. LaCGKN embeds Eulerian flow dynamics into a low-dimensional latent space governed by a nonlinear stochastic system with conditional Gaussian structure, enabling analytic posterior updates without ensemble forecasting. Unlike existing conditional Gaussian Koopman formulations that assume direct Eulerian observations, the Lagrangian setting imposes additional demands on the latent representation, which must simultaneously encode the flow dynamics and mediate nonlinear tracer-flow interactions. To address these challenges, the LaCGKN incorporates three key components: (i) tracer homogenization to enforce permutation equivariance and generalize across varying numbers of tracers; (ii) Fourier positional encoding to capture spatial dependence and reconstruct local flow features at moving tracer locations; and (iii) an SVD-inspired low-rank parameterization of the latent transition operator, which reduces model complexity while retaining expressiveness. An application to a two-layer quasi-geostrophic flow with surface tracer observations shows that LaCGKN achieves accurate and efficient Lagrangian data assimilation and prediction, without reliance on ensemble methods or the governing physical model. These results establish the LaCGKN as a unified and computationally tractable alternative to both traditional model-based approaches and purely black-box data-driven methods.

Point Cloud Denoising via Momentum Ascent in Gradient Fields

To achieve point cloud denoising, traditional methods heavily rely on geometric priors, and most learning-based approaches suffer from outliers and loss of details. Recently, the gradient-based method was proposed to estimate the gradient fields from the noisy point clouds using neural networks, and refine the position of each point according to the estimated gradient. However, the predicted gradient could fluctuate, leading to perturbed and unstable solutions, as well as a long inference time. To address these issues, we develop the momentum gradient ascent method that leverages the information of previous iterations in determining the trajectories of the points, thus improving the stability of the solution and reducing the inference time. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches with a variety of point clouds, noise types, and noise levels. MANet: Improving Video Denoising with a Multi-Alignment Network

In video denoising, the adjacent frames often provide very useful information, but accurate alignment is needed before such information can be harnassed. In this work, we present a multi-alignment network, which generates multiple flow proposals followed by attention-based averaging. It serves to mimic the non-local mechanism, suppressing noise by averaging multiple observations. Our approach can be applied to various state-of-the-art models that are based on flow estimation. Experiments on a large-scale video dataset demonstrate that our method improves the denoising baseline model by 0.2dB, and further reduces the parameters by 47% with model distillation. When to Trust Imagination: Adaptive Action Execution for World Action Models

World Action Models (WAMs) have recently emerged as a promising paradigm for robotic manipulation by jointly predicting future visual observations and future actions. However, current WAMs typically execute a fixed number of predicted actions after each model inference, leaving the robot blind to whether the imagined future remains consistent with the actual physical rollout. In this work, we formulate adaptive WAM execution as a future-reality verification problem: the robot should execute longer when the WAM-predicted future remains reliable, and replan earlier when reality deviates from imagination. To this end, we propose Future Forward Dynamics Causal Attention (FFDC), a lightweight verifier that jointly reasons over predicted future actions, predicted visual dynamics, real observations, and language instructions to estimate whether the remaining action rollout can still be trusted. FFDC enables adaptive action chunk sizes as an emergent consequence of prediction-observation consistency, preserving the efficiency of long-horizon execution while restoring responsiveness in contact-rich or difficult phases. We further introduce Mixture-of-Horizon Training to improve long-horizon trajectory coverage for adaptive execution. Experiments on the RoboTwin benchmark and in the real world demonstrate that our method achieves a strong robustness-efficiency trade-off: on RoboTwin, it reduces WAM forward passes by 69.10% and execution time by 34.02%, while improving success rate by 2.54% over the short-chunk baseline; in real-world experiments, it improves success rate by 35%.

Random resistive memory-based deep extreme point learning machine for unified visual processing

Visual sensors, including 3D LiDAR, neuromorphic DVS sensors, and conventional frame cameras, are increasingly integrated into edge-side intelligent machines. Realizing intensive multi-sensory data analysis directly on edge intelligent machines is crucial for numerous emerging edge applications, such as augmented and virtual reality and unmanned aerial vehicles, which necessitates unified data representation, unprecedented hardware energy efficiency and rapid model training. However, multi-sensory data are intrinsically heterogeneous, causing significant complexity in the system development for edge-side intelligent machines. In addition, the performance of conventional digital hardware is limited by the physically separated processing and memory units, known as the von Neumann bottleneck, and the physical limit of transistor scaling, which contributes to the slowdown of Moore's law. These limitations are further intensified by the tedious training of models with ever-increasing sizes. We propose a novel hardware-software co-design, random resistive memory-based deep extreme point learning machine (DEPLM), that offers efficient unified point set analysis. We show the system's versatility across various data modalities and two different learning tasks. Compared to a conventional digital hardware-based system, our co-design system achieves huge energy efficiency improvements and training cost reduction when compared to conventional systems. Our random resistive memory-based deep extreme point learning machine may pave the way for energy-efficient and training-friendly edge AI across various data modalities and tasks.

Modeling Partially Observed Nonlinear Dynamical Systems and Efficient Data Assimilation via Discrete-Time Conditional Gaussian Koopman Network

A discrete-time conditional Gaussian Koopman network (CGKN) is developed in this work to learn surrogate models that can perform efficient state forecast and data assimilation (DA) for high-dimensional complex dynamical systems, e.g., systems governed by nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). Focusing on nonlinear partially observed systems that are common in many engineering and earth science applications, this work exploits Koopman embedding to discover a proper latent representation of the unobserved system states, such that the dynamics of the latent states are conditional linear, i.e., linear with the given observed system states. The modeled system of the observed and latent states then becomes a conditional Gaussian system, for which the posterior distribution of the latent states is Gaussian and can be efficiently evaluated via analytical formulae. The analytical formulae of DA facilitate the incorporation of DA performance into the learning process of the modeled system, which leads to a framework that unifies scientific machine learning (SciML) and data assimilation. The performance of discrete-time CGKN is demonstrated on several canonical problems governed by nonlinear PDEs with intermittency and turbulent features, including the viscous Burgers' equation, the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation, and the 2-D Navier-Stokes equations, with which we show that the discrete-time CGKN framework achieves comparable performance as the state-of-the-art SciML methods in state forecast and provides efficient and accurate DA results. The discrete-time CGKN framework also serves as an example to illustrate unifying the development of SciML models and their other outer-loop applications such as design optimization, inverse problems, and optimal control.

CoT-lized Diffusion: Let's Reinforce T2I Generation Step-by-step

Current text-to-image (T2I) generation models struggle to align spatial composition with the input text, especially in complex scenes. Even layout-based approaches yield suboptimal spatial control, as their generation process is decoupled from layout planning, making it difficult to refine the layout during synthesis. We present CoT-Diff, a framework that brings step-by-step CoT-style reasoning into T2I generation by tightly integrating Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM)-driven 3D layout planning with the diffusion process. CoT-Diff enables layout-aware reasoning inline within a single diffusion round: at each denoising step, the MLLM evaluates intermediate predictions, dynamically updates the 3D scene layout, and continuously guides the generation process. The updated layout is converted into semantic conditions and depth maps, which are fused into the diffusion model via a condition-aware attention mechanism, enabling precise spatial control and semantic injection. Experiments on 3D Scene benchmarks show that CoT-Diff significantly improves spatial alignment and compositional fidelity, and outperforms the state-of-the-art method by 34.7% in complex scene spatial accuracy, thereby validating the effectiveness of this entangled generation paradigm.

DBellQuant: Breaking the Bell with Double-Bell Transformation for LLMs Post Training Binarization

Large language models (LLMs) demonstrate remarkable performance but face substantial computational and memory challenges that limit their practical deployment. Quantization has emerged as a promising solution; however, its effectiveness is often limited by quantization errors arising from weight distributions that are not quantization-friendly and the presence of activation outliers. To address these challenges, we introduce DBellQuant, an innovative post-training quantization (PTQ) framework that achieves nearly 1-bit weight compression and 6-bit activation quantization with minimal performance degradation. DBellQuant uses Learnable Transformation for Dual-Bell (LTDB) algorithm, which transforms single-bell weight distributions into dual-bell forms to reduce binarization errors and applies inverse transformations to smooth activations. DBellQuant sets a new state-of-the-art by preserving superior model performance under aggressive weight and activation quantization. For example, on the Wikitext2 dataset, DBellQuant achieves a perplexity of 14.39 on LLaMA2-13B with 6-bit activation quantization, significantly outperforming BiLLM's 21.35 without activation quantization, underscoring its potential in compressing LLMs for real-world applications.

MG-Nav: Dual-Scale Visual Navigation via Sparse Spatial Memory

We present MG-Nav (Memory-Guided Navigation), a dual-scale framework for zero-shot visual navigation that unifies global memory-guided planning with local geometry-enhanced control. At its core is the Sparse Spatial Memory Graph (SMG), a compact, region-centric memory where each node aggregates multi-view keyframe and object semantics, capturing both appearance and spatial structure while preserving viewpoint diversity. At the global level, the agent is localized on SMG and a goal-conditioned node path is planned via an image-to-instance hybrid retrieval, producing a sequence of reachable waypoints for long-horizon guidance. At the local level, a navigation foundation policy executes these waypoints in point-goal mode with obstacle-aware control, and switches to image-goal mode when navigating from the final node towards the visual target. To further enhance viewpoint alignment and goal recognition, we introduce VGGT-adapter, a lightweight geometric module built on the pre-trained VGGT model, which aligns observation and goal features in a shared 3D-aware space. MG-Nav operates global planning and local control at different frequencies, using periodic re-localization to correct errors. Experiments on HM3D Instance-Image-Goal and MP3D Image-Goal benchmarks demonstrate that MG-Nav achieves state-of-the-art zero-shot performance and remains robust under dynamic rearrangements and unseen scene conditions.

Continuous-Time Digital Twin with Analogue Memristive Neural Ordinary Differential Equation Solver

Digital twins, the cornerstone of Industry 4.0, replicate real-world entities through computer models, revolutionising fields such as manufacturing management and industrial automation. Recent advances in machine learning provide data-driven methods for developing digital twins using discrete-time data and finite-depth models on digital computers. However, this approach fails to capture the underlying continuous dynamics and struggles with modelling complex system behaviour. Additionally, the architecture of digital computers, with separate storage and processing units, necessitates frequent data transfers and Analogue-Digital (A/D) conversion, thereby significantly increasing both time and energy costs. Here, we introduce a memristive neural ordinary differential equation (ODE) solver for digital twins, which is capable of capturing continuous-time dynamics and facilitates the modelling of complex systems using an infinite-depth model. By integrating storage and computation within analogue memristor arrays, we circumvent the von Neumann bottleneck, thus enhancing both speed and energy efficiency. We experimentally validate our approach by developing a digital twin of the HP memristor, which accurately extrapolates its nonlinear dynamics, achieving a 4.2-fold projected speedup and a 41.4-fold projected decrease in energy consumption compared to state-of-the-art digital hardware, while maintaining an acceptable error margin. Additionally, we demonstrate scalability through experimentally grounded simulations of Lorenz96 dynamics, exhibiting projected performance improvements of 12.6-fold in speed and 189.7-fold in energy efficiency relative to traditional digital approaches. By harnessing the capabilities of fully analogue computing, our breakthrough accelerates the development of digital twins, offering an efficient and rapid solution to meet the demands of Industry 4.0.

Efficient and accurate neural field reconstruction using resistive memory

Human beings construct perception of space by integrating sparse observations into massively interconnected synapses and neurons, offering a superior parallelism and efficiency. Replicating this capability in AI finds wide applications in medical imaging, AR/VR, and embodied AI, where input data is often sparse and computing resources are limited. However, traditional signal reconstruction methods on digital computers face both software and hardware challenges. On the software front, difficulties arise from storage inefficiencies in conventional explicit signal representation. Hardware obstacles include the von Neumann bottleneck, which limits data transfer between the CPU and memory, and the limitations of CMOS circuits in supporting parallel processing. We propose a systematic approach with software-hardware co-optimizations for signal reconstruction from sparse inputs. Software-wise, we employ neural field to implicitly represent signals via neural networks, which is further compressed using low-rank decomposition and structured pruning. Hardware-wise, we design a resistive memory-based computing-in-memory (CIM) platform, featuring a Gaussian Encoder (GE) and an MLP Processing Engine (PE). The GE harnesses the intrinsic stochasticity of resistive memory for efficient input encoding, while the PE achieves precise weight mapping through a Hardware-Aware Quantization (HAQ) circuit. We demonstrate the system's efficacy on a 40nm 256Kb resistive memory-based in-memory computing macro, achieving huge energy efficiency and parallelism improvements without compromising reconstruction quality in tasks like 3D CT sparse reconstruction, novel view synthesis, and novel view synthesis for dynamic scenes. This work advances the AI-driven signal restoration technology and paves the way for future efficient and robust medical AI and 3D vision applications.

Resistive Memory-based Neural Differential Equation Solver for Score-based Diffusion Model

Human brains image complicated scenes when reading a novel. Replicating this imagination is one of the ultimate goals of AI-Generated Content (AIGC). However, current AIGC methods, such as score-based diffusion, are still deficient in terms of rapidity and efficiency. This deficiency is rooted in the difference between the brain and digital computers. Digital computers have physically separated storage and processing units, resulting in frequent data transfers during iterative calculations, incurring large time and energy overheads. This issue is further intensified by the conversion of inherently continuous and analog generation dynamics, which can be formulated by neural differential equations, into discrete and digital operations. Inspired by the brain, we propose a time-continuous and analog in-memory neural differential equation solver for score-based diffusion, employing emerging resistive memory. The integration of storage and computation within resistive memory synapses surmount the von Neumann bottleneck, benefiting the generative speed and energy efficiency. The closed-loop feedback integrator is time-continuous, analog, and compact, physically implementing an infinite-depth neural network. Moreover, the software-hardware co-design is intrinsically robust to analog noise. We experimentally validate our solution with 180 nm resistive memory in-memory computing macros. Demonstrating equivalent generative quality to the software baseline, our system achieved remarkable enhancements in generative speed for both unconditional and conditional generation tasks, by factors of 64.8 and 156.5, respectively. Moreover, it accomplished reductions in energy consumption by factors of 5.2 and 4.1. Our approach heralds a new horizon for hardware solutions in edge computing for generative AI applications.
