Domain-Aware Mispronunciation Detection and Diagnosis Using Language-Specific Statistical Graphs

Huu Tuong Tu, Hanh Nguyen, Thien Van Luong et al.

Mispronunciation Detection and Diagnosis (MDD) has gained increasing importance in computer-assisted language learning and speech technology in recent years. In this paper, we propose a method for constructing statistical graphs that enable models to learn phoneme confusion patterns represented as directed graphs. Furthermore, we introduce a language-specific strategy to capture systematic pronunciation differences across various native language (L1) backgrounds. The effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated through extensive experiments on the L2-ARCTIC benchmark, where it achieves an F1-score of 59.52%, outperforming several competitive baselines.

Deep Outdated Fact Detection in Knowledge Graphs

Huiling Tu, Shuo Yu, Vidya Saikrishna et al.

Knowledge graphs (KGs) have garnered significant attention for their vast potential across diverse domains. However, the issue of outdated facts poses a challenge to KGs, affecting their overall quality as real-world information evolves. Existing solutions for outdated fact detection often rely on manual recognition. In response, this paper presents DEAN (Deep outdatEd fAct detectioN), a novel deep learning-based framework designed to identify outdated facts within KGs. DEAN distinguishes itself by capturing implicit structural information among facts through comprehensive modeling of both entities and relations. To effectively uncover latent out-of-date information, DEAN employs a contrastive approach based on a pre-defined Relations-to-Nodes (R2N) graph, weighted by the number of entities. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of DEAN over state-of-the-art baseline methods.

O_O-VC: Synthetic Data-Driven One-to-One Alignment for Any-to-Any Voice Conversion

Huu Tuong Tu, Huan Vu, cuong tien nguyen et al.

Traditional voice conversion (VC) methods typically attempt to separate speaker identity and linguistic information into distinct representations, which are then combined to reconstruct the audio. However, effectively disentangling these factors remains challenging, often leading to information loss during training. In this paper, we propose a new approach that leverages synthetic speech data generated by a high-quality, pretrained multispeaker text-to-speech (TTS) model. Specifically, synthetic data pairs that share the same linguistic content but differ in speaker identity are used as input-output pairs to train the voice conversion model. This enables the model to learn a direct mapping between source and target voices, effectively capturing speaker-specific characteristics while preserving linguistic content. Additionally, we introduce a flexible training strategy for any-to-any voice conversion that generalizes well to unseen speakers and new languages, enhancing adaptability and performance in zero-shot scenarios. Our experiments show that our proposed method achieves a 16.35% relative reduction in word error rate and a 5.91% improvement in speaker cosine similarity, outperforming several state-of-the-art methods.
