The Roles of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Internet of Electric VehiclesHanwen Zhang, Dusit Niyato, Wei Zhang et al.
With the advancements of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) models, their capabilities are expanding significantly beyond content generation and the models are increasingly being used across diverse applications. Particularly, GenAI shows great potential in addressing challenges in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem ranging from charging management to cyber-attack prevention. In this paper, we specifically consider Internet of electric vehicles (IoEV) and we categorize GenAI for IoEV into four different layers namely, EV's battery layer, individual EV layer, smart grid layer, and security layer. We introduce various GenAI techniques used in each layer of IoEV applications. Subsequently, public datasets available for training the GenAI models are summarized. Finally, we provide recommendations for future directions. This survey not only categorizes the applications of GenAI in IoEV across different layers but also serves as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners by highlighting the design and implementation challenges within each layer. Furthermore, it provides a roadmap for future research directions, enabling the development of more robust and efficient IoEV systems through the integration of advanced GenAI techniques.

SecDiff: Diffusion-Aided Secure Deep Joint Source-Channel Coding Against Adversarial AttacksChangyuan Zhao, Jiacheng Wang, Ruichen Zhang et al.
Deep joint source-channel coding (JSCC) has emerged as a promising paradigm for semantic communication, delivering significant performance gains over conventional separate coding schemes. However, existing JSCC frameworks remain vulnerable to physical-layer adversarial threats, such as pilot spoofing and subcarrier jamming, compromising semantic fidelity. In this paper, we propose SecDiff, a plug-and-play, diffusion-aided decoding framework that significantly enhances the security and robustness of deep JSCC under adversarial wireless environments. Different from prior diffusion-guided JSCC methods that suffer from high inference latency, SecDiff employs pseudoinverse-guided sampling and adaptive guidance weighting, enabling flexible step-size control and efficient semantic reconstruction. To counter jamming attacks, we introduce a power-based subcarrier masking strategy and recast recovery as a masked inpainting problem, solved via diffusion guidance. For pilot spoofing, we formulate channel estimation as a blind inverse problem and develop an expectation-minimization (EM)-driven reconstruction algorithm, guided jointly by reconstruction loss and a channel operator. Notably, our method alternates between pilot recovery and channel estimation, enabling joint refinement of both variables throughout the diffusion process. Extensive experiments over orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) channels under adversarial conditions show that SecDiff outperforms existing secure and generative JSCC baselines by achieving a favorable trade-off between reconstruction quality and computational cost. This balance makes SecDiff a promising step toward practical, low-latency, and attack-resilient semantic communications.

Leveraging Large Vision Model for Multi-UAV Co-perception in Low-Altitude Wireless NetworksYunting Xu, Jiacheng Wang, Ruichen Zhang et al.
Multi-uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) cooperative perception has emerged as a promising paradigm for diverse low-altitude economy applications, where complementary multi-view observations are leveraged to enhance perception performance via wireless communications. However, the massive visual data generated by multiple UAVs poses significant challenges in terms of communication latency and resource efficiency. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a communication-efficient cooperative perception framework, termed Base-Station-Helped UAV (BHU), which reduces communication overhead while enhancing perception performance. Specifically, we employ a Top-K selection mechanism to identify the most informative pixels from UAV-captured RGB images, enabling sparsified visual transmission with reduced data volume and latency. The sparsified images are transmitted to a ground server via multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO), where a Swin-large-based MaskDINO encoder extracts bird's-eye-view (BEV) features and performs cooperative feature fusion for ground vehicle perception. Furthermore, we develop a diffusion model-based deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm to jointly select cooperative UAVs, sparsification ratios, and precoding matrices, achieving a balance between communication efficiency and perception utility. Simulation results on the Air-Co-Pred dataset demonstrate that, compared with traditional CNN-based BEV fusion baselines, the proposed BHU framework improves perception performance by over 5% while reducing communication overhead by 85%, providing an effective solution for multi-UAV cooperative perception under resource-constrained wireless environments.

Knowledge-driven Reasoning for Mobile Agentic AI: Concepts, Approaches, and DirectionsGuangyuan Liu, Changyuan Zhao, Yinqiu Liu et al.
Mobile agentic AI is extending autonomous capabilities to resource-constrained platforms such as edge robots and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), where strict size, weight, power, and cost (SWAP-C) constraints and intermittent wireless connectivity limit both on-device computation and cloud access. Existing approaches mostly optimize per-round communication efficiency, yet mobile agents must sustain competence across a stream of tasks. We propose a knowledge-driven reasoning framework that extracts reusable decision structures from past execution, synchronizes them over bandwidth-limited links, and injects them into on-device reasoning to reduce latency, energy, and error accumulation. A DIKW-inspired taxonomy distinguishes raw observations, episode-scoped traces, and persistent cross-task knowledge, and categorizes knowledge into retrieval, structured, procedural, and parametric representations, each with a distinct tradeoff between reasoning speedup and failure risk. A key finding is that knowledge exposure is non-monotonic: too little forces costly trial-and-error replanning, while too much introduces conflicting cues and errors. A UAV case study validates the framework, where a compact knowledge pack synchronized over intermittent backhaul enables a 3B-parameter onboard model to achieve perfect mission reliability with lower reasoning cost than both knowledge-free on-device reasoning and cloud-centric replanning.

Credit Assignment for Trained Neural Networks Based on Koopman Operator TheoryZhen Liang, Changyuan Zhao, Wanwei Liu et al.
Credit assignment problem of neural networks refers to evaluating the credit of each network component to the final outputs. For an untrained neural network, approaches to tackling it have made great contributions to parameter update and model revolution during the training phase. This problem on trained neural networks receives rare attention, nevertheless, it plays an increasingly important role in neural network patch, specification and verification. Based on Koopman operator theory, this paper presents an alternative perspective of linear dynamics on dealing with the credit assignment problem for trained neural networks. Regarding a neural network as the composition of sub-dynamics series, we utilize step-delay embedding to capture snapshots of each component, characterizing the established mapping as exactly as possible. To circumvent the dimension-difference problem encountered during the embedding, a composition and decomposition of an auxiliary linear layer, termed minimal linear dimension alignment, is carefully designed with rigorous formal guarantee. Afterwards, each component is approximated by a Koopman operator and we derive the Jacobian matrix and its corresponding determinant, similar to backward propagation. Then, we can define a metric with algebraic interpretability for the credit assignment of each network component. Moreover, experiments conducted on typical neural networks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The rapid evolution toward 6G and beyond communication systems is accelerating the convergence of digital twins and world models at the network edge. Traditional digital twins provide high-fidelity representations of physical systems and support monitoring, analysis, and offline optimization. However, in highly dynamic edge environments, they face limitations in autonomy, adaptability, and scalability. This paper presents a systematic survey of the transition from digital twins to world models and discusses its role in enabling edge general intelligence (EGI). First, the paper clarifies the conceptual differences between digital twins and world models and highlights the shift from physics-based, centralized, and system-centric replicas to data-driven, decentralized, and agent-centric internal models. This discussion helps readers gain a clear understanding of how this transition enables more adaptive, autonomous, and resource-efficient intelligence at the network edge. The paper reviews the design principles, architectures, and key components of world models, including perception, latent state representation, dynamics learning, imagination-based planning, and memory. In addition, it examines the integration of world models and digital twins in wireless EGI systems and surveys emerging applications in integrated sensing and communications, semantic communication, air-ground networks, and low-altitude wireless networks. Finally, this survey provides a systematic roadmap and practical insights for designing world-model-driven edge intelligence systems in wireless and edge computing environments. It also outlines key research challenges and future directions toward scalable, reliable, and interoperable world models for edge-native agentic AI.

World models are emerging as a transformative paradigm in artificial intelligence, enabling agents to construct internal representations of their environments for predictive reasoning, planning, and decision-making. By learning latent dynamics, world models provide a sample-efficient framework that is especially valuable in data-constrained or safety-critical scenarios. In this paper, we present a comprehensive overview of world models, highlighting their architecture, training paradigms, and applications across prediction, generation, planning, and causal reasoning. We compare and distinguish world models from related concepts such as digital twins, the metaverse, and foundation models, clarifying their unique role as embedded cognitive engines for autonomous agents. We further propose Wireless Dreamer, a novel world model-based reinforcement learning framework tailored for wireless edge intelligence optimization, particularly in low-altitude wireless networks (LAWNs). Through a weather-aware UAV trajectory planning case study, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework in improving learning efficiency and decision quality.

Low-Altitude Economic Networking (LAENet) aims to support diverse flying applications below 1,000 meters by deploying various aerial vehicles for flexible and cost-effective aerial networking. However, complex decision-making, resource constraints, and environmental uncertainty pose significant challenges to the development of the LAENet. Reinforcement learning (RL) offers a potential solution in response to these challenges but has limitations in generalization, reward design, and model stability. The emergence of large language models (LLMs) offers new opportunities for RL to mitigate these limitations. In this paper, we first present a tutorial about integrating LLMs into RL by using the capacities of generation, contextual understanding, and structured reasoning of LLMs. We then propose an LLM-enhanced RL framework for the LAENet in terms of serving the LLM as information processor, reward designer, decision-maker, and generator. Moreover, we conduct a case study by using LLMs to design a reward function to improve the learning performance of RL in the LAENet. Finally, we provide a conclusion and discuss future work.

Edge General Intelligence Through World Models and Agentic AI: Fundamentals, Solutions, and ChallengesChangyuan Zhao, Guangyuan Liu, Ruichen Zhang et al.
Edge General Intelligence (EGI) represents a transformative evolution of edge computing, where distributed agents possess the capability to perceive, reason, and act autonomously across diverse, dynamic environments. Central to this vision are world models, which act as proactive internal simulators that not only predict but also actively imagine future trajectories, reason under uncertainty, and plan multi-step actions with foresight. This proactive nature allows agents to anticipate potential outcomes and optimize decisions ahead of real-world interactions. While prior works in robotics and gaming have showcased the potential of world models, their integration into the wireless edge for EGI remains underexplored. This survey bridges this gap by offering a comprehensive analysis of how world models can empower agentic artificial intelligence (AI) systems at the edge. We first examine the architectural foundations of world models, including latent representation learning, dynamics modeling, and imagination-based planning. Building on these core capabilities, we illustrate their proactive applications across EGI scenarios such as vehicular networks, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks, the Internet of Things (IoT) systems, and network functions virtualization, thereby highlighting how they can enhance optimization under latency, energy, and privacy constraints. We then explore their synergy with foundation models and digital twins, positioning world models as the cognitive backbone of EGI. Finally, we highlight open challenges, such as safety guarantees, efficient training, and constrained deployment, and outline future research directions. This survey provides both a conceptual foundation and a practical roadmap for realizing the next generation of intelligent, autonomous edge systems.

Score-based generative models can effectively learn the distribution of data by estimating the gradient of the distribution. Due to the multi-step denoising characteristic, researchers have recently considered combining score-based generative models with the gradient boosting algorithm, a multi-step supervised learning algorithm, to solve supervised learning tasks. However, existing generative model algorithms are often limited by the stochastic nature of the models and the long inference time, impacting prediction performances. Therefore, we propose a Supervised Score-based Model (SSM), which can be viewed as a gradient boosting algorithm combining score matching. We provide a theoretical analysis of learning and sampling for SSM to balance inference time and prediction accuracy. Via the ablation experiment in selected examples, we demonstrate the outstanding performances of the proposed techniques. Additionally, we compare our model with other probabilistic models, including Natural Gradient Boosting (NGboost), Classification and Regression Diffusion Models (CARD), Diffusion Boosted Trees (DBT), and non-probabilistic GBM models. The experimental results show that our model outperforms existing models in both accuracy and inference time.

Agentic AI-Driven UAV Network Deployment: A LLM-Enhanced Exact Potential Game ApproachXin Tang, Qian Chen, Binhan Liao et al.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicular Networks (UAVNs) are envisioned to provide flexible connectivity, wide-area coverage, and low-latency services in dynamic environments. From an agentic artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) perspective, UAVNs naturally operate as multi-agent systems, where autonomous UAVs act as intelligent agents that coordinate deployment and networking decisions to achieve global performance objectives. However, the strong coupling between discrete link decisions and continuous deployment parameters makes UAVN topology optimization a mixed-integer nonconvex problem, resulting in challenges in scalability, efficiency, and solution consistency under dynamic network conditions. This paper proposes a dual spatial-scale UAVN topology optimization framework based on exact potential games (EPGs), enhanced by Agentic AI. At the large spatial scale, a log-linear learning based EPG (L3-EPG) algorithm is developed to optimize inter-UAV link configurations, enabling sparse yet connected network topologies while reducing redundant links and interference. At the small spatial scale, an approximate gradient based EPG (AG-EPG) algorithm jointly optimizes UAV deployment, transmission power allocation, and ground user (GU) association to improve network throughput and latency. To further enhance adaptability across heterogeneous scenarios, a large language model (LLM) is incorporated as a knowledge-driven decision enhancer to automatically generate utility weights according to network characteristics, alleviating reliance on manual parameter tuning. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed framework consistently outperforms baseline methods in terms of energy consumption, end-to-end latency, and system throughput.

From Agentification to Self-Evolving Agentic AI for Wireless Networks: Concepts, Approaches, and Future Research DirectionsChangyuan Zhao, Ruichen Zhang, Jiacheng Wang et al.
Self-evolving agentic artificial intelligence (AI) offers a new paradigm for future wireless systems by enabling autonomous agents to continually adapt and improve without human intervention. Unlike static AI models, self-evolving agents embed an autonomous evolution cycle that updates models, tools, and workflows in response to environmental dynamics. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of self-evolving agentic AI, highlighting its layered architecture, life cycle, and key techniques, including tool intelligence, workflow optimization, self-reflection, and evolutionary learning. We further propose a multi-agent cooperative self-evolving agentic AI framework, where multiple large language models (LLMs) are assigned role-specialized prompts under the coordination of a supervisor agent. Through structured dialogue, iterative feedback, and systematic validation, the system autonomously executes the entire life cycle without human intervention. A case study on antenna evolution in low-altitude wireless networks (LAWNs) demonstrates how the framework autonomously upgrades fixed antenna optimization into movable antenna optimization. Experimental results show that the proposed self-evolving agentic AI autonomously improves beam gain and restores degraded performance by up to 52.02%, consistently surpassing the fixed baseline with little to no human intervention and validating its adaptability and robustness for next-generation wireless intelligence.

Repairing Deep Neural Networks Based on Behavior ImitationZhen Liang, Taoran Wu, Changyuan Zhao et al.
The increasing use of deep neural networks (DNNs) in safety-critical systems has raised concerns about their potential for exhibiting ill-behaviors. While DNN verification and testing provide post hoc conclusions regarding unexpected behaviors, they do not prevent the erroneous behaviors from occurring. To address this issue, DNN repair/patch aims to eliminate unexpected predictions generated by defective DNNs. Two typical DNN repair paradigms are retraining and fine-tuning. However, existing methods focus on the high-level abstract interpretation or inference of state spaces, ignoring the underlying neurons' outputs. This renders patch processes computationally prohibitive and limited to piecewise linear (PWL) activation functions to great extent. To address these shortcomings, we propose a behavior-imitation based repair framework, BIRDNN, which integrates the two repair paradigms for the first time. BIRDNN corrects incorrect predictions of negative samples by imitating the closest expected behaviors of positive samples during the retraining repair procedure. For the fine-tuning repair process, BIRDNN analyzes the behavior differences of neurons on positive and negative samples to identify the most responsible neurons for the erroneous behaviors. To tackle more challenging domain-wise repair problems (DRPs), we synthesize BIRDNN with a domain behavior characterization technique to repair buggy DNNs in a probably approximated correct style. We also implement a prototype tool based on BIRDNN and evaluate it on ACAS Xu DNNs. Our experimental results show that BIRDNN can successfully repair buggy DNNs with significantly higher efficiency than state-of-the-art repair tools. Additionally, BIRDNN is highly compatible with different activation functions.
