Neural Implicit Action Fields: From Discrete Waypoints to Continuous Functions for Vision-Language-Action Models

Despite the rapid progress of vision-language-action (VLA) models, the prevailing practice of predicting action chunks as discrete waypoints remains structurally misaligned with the intrinsic continuity of physical motion. This discretization arises naturally from fixed-rate robot data collection and the token-by-token prediction paradigm of large language models, but ties actions to rigid sampling rates, does not naturally support analytically consistent higher-order derivatives, and introduces quantization artifacts that hinder precise, compliant interaction. We propose Neural Implicit Action Fields (NIAF), which reformulates chunk-level action representation from discrete waypoints to continuous action functions. Using a vision-language model as a hierarchical spectral modulator over a learnable motion prior, NIAF synthesizes continuous-time action manifolds with arbitrary temporal resolution. This formulation enables analytical differentiation, allowing explicit supervision of velocity and regularization of higher-order derivative signals to promote mathematical consistency, physical plausibility, and control smoothness. Our approach achieves strong results on CALVIN and LIBERO across diverse backbones. Real-world experiments further confirm that NIAF supports stable impedance control, bridging policy-side action generation and execution-side smooth control.

What to Format and How: A Benchmark and Workflow Approach for Document Formatting

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have opened up new possibilities for automated document formatting. However, real-world formatting often requires identifying targets based on document content. This content-aware setting remains challenging and underexplored, primarily due to the lack of dedicated evaluation datasets.To enable evaluation in realistic content-aware scenarios, we introduce DocFormBench, a benchmark that extends Text-to-Format evaluation to diverse formatting requirements, along with metrics for both accuracy and efficiency.To mitigate redundant document reading in existing methods during formatting, we propose DocFormFlow, a workflow formatting method that decouples target localization from modification execution into what to format and how. Extensive experiments across multiple LLMs and multimodal models show that DocFormFlow consistently improves formatting accuracy while reducing token consumption compared to representative baselines. Further analysis reveals that precise target localization is the primary factor influencing formatting performance. We hope DocFormBench and DocFormFlow will facilitate future research toward more intelligent and reliable document formatting.

Target specific peptide design using latent space approximate trajectory collector

Despite the prevalence and many successes of deep learning applications in de novo molecular design, the problem of peptide generation targeting specific proteins remains unsolved. A main barrier for this is the scarcity of the high-quality training data. To tackle the issue, we propose a novel machine learning based peptide design architecture, called Latent Space Approximate Trajectory Collector (LSATC). It consists of a series of samplers on an optimization trajectory on a highly non-convex energy landscape that approximates the distributions of peptides with desired properties in a latent space. The process involves little human intervention and can be implemented in an end-to-end manner. We demonstrate the model by the design of peptide extensions targeting Beta-catenin, a key nuclear effector protein involved in canonical Wnt signalling. When compared with a random sampler, LSATC can sample peptides with $36\%$ lower binding scores in a $16$ times smaller interquartile range (IQR) and $284\%$ less hydrophobicity with a $1.4$ times smaller IQR. LSATC also largely outperforms other common generative models. Finally, we utilized a clustering algorithm to select 4 peptides from the 100 LSATC designed peptides for experimental validation. The result confirms that all the four peptides extended by LSATC show improved Beta-catenin binding by at least $20.0\%$, and two of the peptides show a $3$ fold increase in binding affinity as compared to the base peptide.

Unsupervised Domain Adaptation with Histogram-gated Image Translation for Delayered IC Image Analysis

Deep learning has achieved great success in the challenging circuit annotation task by employing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for the segmentation of circuit structures. The deep learning approaches require a large amount of manually annotated training data to achieve a good performance, which could cause a degradation in performance if a deep learning model trained on a given dataset is applied to a different dataset. This is commonly known as the domain shift problem for circuit annotation, which stems from the possibly large variations in distribution across different image datasets. The different image datasets could be obtained from different devices or different layers within a single device. To address the domain shift problem, we propose Histogram-gated Image Translation (HGIT), an unsupervised domain adaptation framework which transforms images from a given source dataset to the domain of a target dataset, and utilize the transformed images for training a segmentation network. Specifically, our HGIT performs generative adversarial network (GAN)-based image translation and utilizes histogram statistics for data curation. Experiments were conducted on a single labeled source dataset adapted to three different target datasets (without labels for training) and the segmentation performance was evaluated for each target dataset. We have demonstrated that our method achieves the best performance compared to the reported domain adaptation techniques, and is also reasonably close to the fully supervised benchmark.

Align-KD: Distilling Cross-Modal Alignment Knowledge for Mobile Vision-Language Model

Vision-Language Models (VLMs) bring powerful understanding and reasoning capabilities to multimodal tasks. Meanwhile, the great need for capable aritificial intelligence on mobile devices also arises, such as the AI assistant software. Some efforts try to migrate VLMs to edge devices to expand their application scope. Simplifying the model structure is a common method, but as the model shrinks, the trade-off between performance and size becomes more and more difficult. Knowledge distillation (KD) can help models improve comprehensive capabilities without increasing size or data volume. However, most of the existing large model distillation techniques only consider applications on single-modal LLMs, or only use teachers to create new data environments for students. None of these methods take into account the distillation of the most important cross-modal alignment knowledge in VLMs. We propose a method called Align-KD to guide the student model to learn the cross-modal matching that occurs at the shallow layer. The teacher also helps student learn the projection of vision token into text embedding space based on the focus of text. Under the guidance of Align-KD, the 1.7B MobileVLM V2 model can learn rich knowledge from the 7B teacher model with light design of training loss, and achieve an average score improvement of 2.0 across 6 benchmarks under two training subsets respectively. ABot-PhysWorld: Interactive World Foundation Model for Robotic Manipulation with Physics Alignment

Video-based world models offer a powerful paradigm for embodied simulation and planning, yet state-of-the-art models often generate physically implausible manipulations - such as object penetration and anti-gravity motion - due to training on generic visual data and likelihood-based objectives that ignore physical laws. We present ABot-PhysWorld, a 14B Diffusion Transformer model that generates visually realistic, physically plausible, and action-controllable videos. Built on a curated dataset of three million manipulation clips with physics-aware annotation, it uses a novel DPO-based post-training framework with decoupled discriminators to suppress unphysical behaviors while preserving visual quality. A parallel context block enables precise spatial action injection for cross-embodiment control. To better evaluate generalization, we introduce EZSbench, the first training-independent embodied zero-shot benchmark combining real and synthetic unseen robot-task-scene combinations. It employs a decoupled protocol to separately assess physical realism and action alignment. ABot-PhysWorld achieves new state-of-the-art performance on PBench and EZSbench, surpassing Veo 3.1 and Sora v2 Pro in physical plausibility and trajectory consistency. We will release EZSbench to promote standardized evaluation in embodied video generation.

Regularizing Deep Neural Networks with Stochastic Estimators of Hessian Trace

In this paper, we develop a novel regularization method for deep neural networks by penalizing the trace of Hessian. This regularizer is motivated by a recent guarantee bound of the generalization error. We explain its benefits in finding flat minima and avoiding Lyapunov stability in dynamical systems. We adopt the Hutchinson method as a classical unbiased estimator for the trace of a matrix and further accelerate its calculation using a dropout scheme. Experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms existing regularizers and data augmentation methods, such as Jacobian, Confidence Penalty, Label Smoothing, Cutout, and Mixup.

Long-Text-to-Image Generation via Compositional Prompt Decomposition

While modern text-to-image (T2I) models excel at generating images from intricate prompts, they struggle to capture the key details when the inputs are descriptive paragraphs. This limitation stems from the prevalence of concise captions that shape their training distributions. Existing methods attempt to bridge this gap by either fine-tuning T2I models on long prompts, which generalizes poorly to longer lengths; or by projecting the oversize inputs into normal-prompt space and compromising fidelity. We propose Prompt Refraction for Intricate Scene Modeling (PRISM), a compositional approach that enables pre-trained T2I models to process long sequence inputs. PRISM uses a lightweight module to extract constituent representations from the long prompts. The T2I model makes independent noise predictions for each component, and their outputs are merged into a single denoising step using energy-based conjunction. We evaluate PRISM across a wide range of model architectures, showing comparable performances to models fine-tuned on the same training data. Furthermore, PRISM demonstrates superior generalization, outperforming baseline models by 7.4% on prompts over 500 tokens in a challenging public benchmark.

Full-Stage Pseudo Label Quality Enhancement for Weakly-supervised Temporal Action Localization

Weakly-supervised Temporal Action Localization (WSTAL) aims to localize actions in untrimmed videos using only video-level supervision. Latest WSTAL methods introduce pseudo label learning framework to bridge the gap between classification-based training and inferencing targets at localization, and achieve cutting-edge results. In these frameworks, a classification-based model is used to generate pseudo labels for a regression-based student model to learn from. However, the quality of pseudo labels in the framework, which is a key factor to the final result, is not carefully studied. In this paper, we propose a set of simple yet efficient pseudo label quality enhancement mechanisms to build our FuSTAL framework. FuSTAL enhances pseudo label quality at three stages: cross-video contrastive learning at proposal Generation-Stage, prior-based filtering at proposal Selection-Stage and EMA-based distillation at Training-Stage. These designs enhance pseudo label quality at different stages in the framework, and help produce more informative, less false and smoother action proposals. With the help of these comprehensive designs at all stages, FuSTAL achieves an average mAP of 50.8% on THUMOS'14, outperforming the previous best method by 1.2%, and becomes the first method to reach the milestone of 50%.

Learning Action Manifold with Multi-view Latent Priors for Robotic Manipulation

This paper tackles spatial perception and manipulation challenges in Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. To address depth ambiguity from monocular input, we leverage a pre-trained multi-view diffusion model to synthesize latent novel views and propose a Geometry-Guided Gated Transformer (G3T) that aligns multi-view features under 3D geometric guidance while adaptively filtering occlusion noise. To improve action learning efficiency, we introduce Action Manifold Learning (AML), which directly predicts actions on the valid action manifold, bypassing inefficient regression of unstructured targets like noise or velocity. Experiments on LIBERO, RoboTwin 2.0, and real-robot tasks show our method achieves superior success rate and robustness over SOTA baselines. Efficient Meta-Learning for Continual Learning with Taylor Expansion Approximation

Continual learning aims to alleviate catastrophic forgetting when handling consecutive tasks under non-stationary distributions. Gradient-based meta-learning algorithms have shown the capability to implicitly solve the transfer-interference trade-off problem between different examples. However, they still suffer from the catastrophic forgetting problem in the setting of continual learning, since the past data of previous tasks are no longer available. In this work, we propose a novel efficient meta-learning algorithm for solving the online continual learning problem, where the regularization terms and learning rates are adapted to the Taylor approximation of the parameter's importance to mitigate forgetting. The proposed method expresses the gradient of the meta-loss in closed-form and thus avoid computing second-order derivative which is computationally inhibitable. We also use Proximal Gradient Descent to further improve computational efficiency and accuracy. Experiments on diverse benchmarks show that our method achieves better or on-par performance and much higher efficiency compared to the state-of-the-art approaches.

Understanding CNNs from excitations

Saliency maps have proven to be a highly efficacious approach for explicating the decisions of Convolutional Neural Networks. However, extant methodologies predominantly rely on gradients, which constrain their ability to explicate complex models. Furthermore, such approaches are not fully adept at leveraging negative gradient information to improve interpretive veracity. In this study, we present a novel concept, termed positive and negative excitation, which enables the direct extraction of positive and negative excitation for each layer, thus enabling complete layer-by-layer information utilization sans gradients. To organize these excitations into final saliency maps, we introduce a double-chain backpropagation procedure. A comprehensive experimental evaluation, encompassing both binary classification and multi-classification tasks, was conducted to gauge the effectiveness of our proposed method. Encouragingly, the results evince that our approach offers a significant improvement over the state-of-the-art methods in terms of salient pixel removal, minor pixel removal, and inconspicuous adversarial perturbation generation guidance. Additionally, we verify the correlation between positive and negative excitations.

FARTrack: Fast Autoregressive Visual Tracking with High Performance

Inference speed and tracking performance are two critical evaluation metrics in the field of visual tracking. However, high-performance trackers often suffer from slow processing speeds, making them impractical for deployment on resource-constrained devices. To alleviate this issue, we propose FARTrack, a Fast Auto-Regressive Tracking framework. Since autoregression emphasizes the temporal nature of the trajectory sequence, it can maintain high performance while achieving efficient execution across various devices. FARTrack introduces Task-Specific Self-Distillation and Inter-frame Autoregressive Sparsification, designed from the perspectives of shallow-yet-accurate distillation and redundant-to-essential token optimization, respectively. Task-Specific Self-Distillation achieves model compression by distilling task-specific tokens layer by layer, enhancing the model's inference speed while avoiding suboptimal manual teacher-student layer pairs assignments. Meanwhile, Inter-frame Autoregressive Sparsification sequentially condenses multiple templates, avoiding additional runtime overhead while learning a temporally-global optimal sparsification strategy. FARTrack demonstrates outstanding speed and competitive performance. It delivers an AO of 70.6% on GOT-10k in real-time. Beyond, our fastest model achieves a speed of 343 FPS on the GPU and 121 FPS on the CPU.

GeoPep: A geometry-aware masked language model for protein-peptide binding site prediction

Multimodal approaches that integrate protein structure and sequence have achieved remarkable success in protein-protein interface prediction. However, extending these methods to protein-peptide interactions remains challenging due to the inherent conformational flexibility of peptides and the limited availability of structural data that hinder direct training of structure-aware models. To address these limitations, we introduce GeoPep, a novel framework for peptide binding site prediction that leverages transfer learning from ESM3, a multimodal protein foundation model. GeoPep fine-tunes ESM3's rich pre-learned representations from protein-protein binding to address the limited availability of protein-peptide binding data. The fine-tuned model is further integrated with a parameter-efficient neural network architecture capable of learning complex patterns from sparse data. Furthermore, the model is trained using distance-based loss functions that exploit 3D structural information to enhance binding site prediction. Comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that GeoPep significantly outperforms existing methods in protein-peptide binding site prediction by effectively capturing sparse and heterogeneous binding patterns.

BaCon: Boosting Imbalanced Semi-supervised Learning via Balanced Feature-Level Contrastive Learning

Semi-supervised Learning (SSL) reduces the need for extensive annotations in deep learning, but the more realistic challenge of imbalanced data distribution in SSL remains largely unexplored. In Class Imbalanced Semi-supervised Learning (CISSL), the bias introduced by unreliable pseudo-labels can be exacerbated by imbalanced data distributions. Most existing methods address this issue at instance-level through reweighting or resampling, but the performance is heavily limited by their reliance on biased backbone representation. Some other methods do perform feature-level adjustments like feature blending but might introduce unfavorable noise. In this paper, we discuss the bonus of a more balanced feature distribution for the CISSL problem, and further propose a Balanced Feature-Level Contrastive Learning method (BaCon). Our method directly regularizes the distribution of instances' representations in a well-designed contrastive manner. Specifically, class-wise feature centers are computed as the positive anchors, while negative anchors are selected by a straightforward yet effective mechanism. A distribution-related temperature adjustment is leveraged to control the class-wise contrastive degrees dynamically. Our method demonstrates its effectiveness through comprehensive experiments on the CIFAR10-LT, CIFAR100-LT, STL10-LT, and SVHN-LT datasets across various settings. For example, BaCon surpasses instance-level method FixMatch-based ABC on CIFAR10-LT with a 1.21% accuracy improvement, and outperforms state-of-the-art feature-level method CoSSL on CIFAR100-LT with a 0.63% accuracy improvement. When encountering more extreme imbalance degree, BaCon also shows better robustness than other methods.

ABot-M0: VLA Foundation Model for Robotic Manipulation with Action Manifold Learning

Building general-purpose embodied agents across diverse hardware remains a central challenge in robotics, often framed as the ''one-brain, many-forms'' paradigm. Progress is hindered by fragmented data, inconsistent representations, and misaligned training objectives. We present ABot-M0, a framework that builds a systematic data curation pipeline while jointly optimizing model architecture and training strategies, enabling end-to-end transformation of heterogeneous raw data into unified, efficient representations. From six public datasets, we clean, standardize, and balance samples to construct UniACT-dataset, a large-scale dataset with over 6 million trajectories and 9,500 hours of data, covering diverse robot morphologies and task scenarios. Unified pre-training improves knowledge transfer and generalization across platforms and tasks, supporting general-purpose embodied intelligence. To improve action prediction efficiency and stability, we propose the Action Manifold Hypothesis: effective robot actions lie not in the full high-dimensional space but on a low-dimensional, smooth manifold governed by physical laws and task constraints. Based on this, we introduce Action Manifold Learning (AML), which uses a DiT backbone to predict clean, continuous action sequences directly. This shifts learning from denoising to projection onto feasible manifolds, improving decoding speed and policy stability. ABot-M0 supports modular perception via a dual-stream mechanism that integrates VLM semantics with geometric priors and multi-view inputs from plug-and-play 3D modules such as VGGT and Qwen-Image-Edit, enhancing spatial understanding without modifying the backbone and mitigating standard VLM limitations in 3D reasoning. Experiments show components operate independently with additive benefits. We will release all code and pipelines for reproducibility and future research.

VCC-INFUSE: Towards Accurate and Efficient Selection of Unlabeled Examples in Semi-supervised Learning

Despite the progress of Semi-supervised Learning (SSL), existing methods fail to utilize unlabeled data effectively and efficiently. Many pseudo-label-based methods select unlabeled examples based on inaccurate confidence scores from the classifier. Most prior work also uses all available unlabeled data without pruning, making it difficult to handle large amounts of unlabeled data. To address these issues, we propose two methods: Variational Confidence Calibration (VCC) and Influence-Function-based Unlabeled Sample Elimination (INFUSE). VCC is an universal plugin for SSL confidence calibration, using a variational autoencoder to select more accurate pseudo labels based on three types of consistency scores. INFUSE is a data pruning method that constructs a core dataset of unlabeled examples under SSL. Our methods are effective in multiple datasets and settings, reducing classification errors rates and saving training time. Together, VCC-INFUSE reduces the error rate of FlexMatch on the CIFAR-100 dataset by 1.08% while saving nearly half of the training time.

Enhancing Linear Attention with Residual Learning

Linear attention offers a linear-time alternative to self-attention but often struggles to capture long-range patterns. We revisit linear attention through a prediction-correction lens and show that prevalent variants can be written as a combination of a historical prediction and a single-token correction, which creates an expressivity bottleneck. To address this bottleneck, we introduce Residual Linear Attention (RLA), a framework that equips linear attention with an explicit residual-fitting mechanism. RLA maintains an auxiliary recurrent state that learns to accumulate residual errors over time and correct the base prediction. We further instantiate a delta-rule version, Residual Delta Net (RDN), incorporating adaptive gating and residual clipping for enhanced correction control and stability. Our implementation leverages highly optimized linear attention kernels and preserves linear time and memory. Across language modeling and recall-intensive evaluations, RLA and RDN consistently outperform their respective baselines and other modern linear-attention methods, narrowing the gap to standard Transformers while retaining linear scaling.

Boosting Image Outpainting with Semantic Layout Prediction

The objective of image outpainting is to extend image current border and generate new regions based on known ones. Previous methods adopt generative adversarial networks (GANs) to synthesize realistic images. However, the lack of explicit semantic representation leads to blurry and abnormal image pixels when the outpainting areas are complex and with various objects. In this work, we decompose the outpainting task into two stages. Firstly, we train a GAN to extend regions in semantic segmentation domain instead of image domain. Secondly, another GAN model is trained to synthesize real images based on the extended semantic layouts. The first model focuses on low frequent context such as sizes, classes and other semantic cues while the second model focuses on high frequent context like color and texture. By this design, our approach can handle semantic clues more easily and hence works better in complex scenarios. We evaluate our framework on various datasets and make quantitative and qualitative analysis. Experiments demonstrate that our method generates reasonable extended semantic layouts and images, outperforming state-of-the-art models.

Principal Gradient Direction and Confidence Reservoir Sampling for Continual Learning

Task-free online continual learning aims to alleviate catastrophic forgetting of the learner on a non-iid data stream. Experience Replay (ER) is a SOTA continual learning method, which is broadly used as the backbone algorithm for other replay-based methods. However, the training strategy of ER is too simple to take full advantage of replayed examples and its reservoir sampling strategy is also suboptimal. In this work, we propose a general proximal gradient framework so that ER can be viewed as a special case. We further propose two improvements accordingly: Principal Gradient Direction (PGD) and Confidence Reservoir Sampling (CRS). In Principal Gradient Direction, we optimize a target gradient that not only represents the major contribution of past gradients, but also retains the new knowledge of the current gradient. We then present Confidence Reservoir Sampling for maintaining a more informative memory buffer based on a margin-based metric that measures the value of stored examples. Experiments substantiate the effectiveness of both our improvements and our new algorithm consistently boosts the performance of MIR-replay, a SOTA ER-based method: our algorithm increases the average accuracy up to 7.9% and reduces forgetting up to 15.4% on four datasets.

A New Adaptive Gradient Method with Gradient Decomposition

Adaptive gradient methods, especially Adam-type methods (such as Adam, AMSGrad, and AdaBound), have been proposed to speed up the training process with an element-wise scaling term on learning rates. However, they often generalize poorly compared with stochastic gradient descent (SGD) and its accelerated schemes such as SGD with momentum (SGDM). In this paper, we propose a new adaptive method called DecGD, which simultaneously achieves good generalization like SGDM and obtain rapid convergence like Adam-type methods. In particular, DecGD decomposes the current gradient into the product of two terms including a surrogate gradient and a loss based vector. Our method adjusts the learning rates adaptively according to the current loss based vector instead of the squared gradients used in Adam-type methods. The intuition for adaptive learning rates of DecGD is that a good optimizer, in general cases, needs to decrease the learning rates as the loss decreases, which is similar to the learning rates decay scheduling technique. Therefore, DecGD gets a rapid convergence in the early phases of training and controls the effective learning rates according to the loss based vectors which help lead to a better generalization. Convergence analysis is discussed in both convex and non-convex situations. Finally, empirical results on widely-used tasks and models demonstrate that DecGD shows better generalization performance than SGDM and rapid convergence like Adam-type methods.

Intra-Model Collaborative Learning of Neural Networks

Recently, collaborative learning proposed by Song and Chai has achieved remarkable improvements in image classification tasks by simultaneously training multiple classifier heads. However, huge memory footprints required by such multi-head structures may hinder the training of large-capacity baseline models. The natural question is how to achieve collaborative learning within a single network without duplicating any modules. In this paper, we propose four ways of collaborative learning among different parts of a single network with negligible engineering efforts. To improve the robustness of the network, we leverage the consistency of the output layer and intermediate layers for training under the collaborative learning framework. Besides, the similarity of intermediate representation and convolution kernel is also introduced to reduce the reduce redundant in a neural network. Compared to the method of Song and Chai, our framework further considers the collaboration inside a single model and takes smaller overhead. Extensive experiments on Cifar-10, Cifar-100, ImageNet32 and STL-10 corroborate the effectiveness of these four ways separately while combining them leads to further improvements. In particular, test errors on the STL-10 dataset are decreased by $9.28\%$ and $5.45\%$ for ResNet-18 and VGG-16 respectively. Moreover, our method is proven to be robust to label noise with experiments on Cifar-10 dataset. For example, our method has $3.53\%$ higher performance under $50\%$ noise ratio setting.

TopologyGAN: Topology Optimization Using Generative Adversarial Networks Based on Physical Fields Over the Initial Domain

In topology optimization using deep learning, load and boundary conditions represented as vectors or sparse matrices often miss the opportunity to encode a rich view of the design problem, leading to less than ideal generalization results. We propose a new data-driven topology optimization model called TopologyGAN that takes advantage of various physical fields computed on the original, unoptimized material domain, as inputs to the generator of a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN). Compared to a baseline cGAN, TopologyGAN achieves a nearly $3\times$ reduction in the mean squared error and a $2.5\times$ reduction in the mean absolute error on test problems involving previously unseen boundary conditions. Built on several existing network models, we also introduce a hybrid network called U-SE(Squeeze-and-Excitation)-ResNet for the generator that further increases the overall accuracy. We publicly share our full implementation and trained network.

Total Variation and Euler's Elastica for Supervised Learning

In recent years, total variation (TV) and Euler's elastica (EE) have been successfully applied to image processing tasks such as denoising and inpainting. This paper investigates how to extend TV and EE to the supervised learning settings on high dimensional data. The supervised learning problem can be formulated as an energy functional minimization under Tikhonov regularization scheme, where the energy is composed of a squared loss and a total variation smoothing (or Euler's elastica smoothing). Its solution via variational principles leads to an Euler-Lagrange PDE. However, the PDE is always high-dimensional and cannot be directly solved by common methods. Instead, radial basis functions are utilized to approximate the target function, reducing the problem to finding the linear coefficients of basis functions. We apply the proposed methods to supervised learning tasks (including binary classification, multi-class classification, and regression) on benchmark data sets. Extensive experiments have demonstrated promising results of the proposed methods.
