MMTalker: Multiresolution 3D Talking Head Synthesis with Multimodal Feature FusionBin Liu, Zhixiang Xiong, Zhifen He et al.
Speech-driven three-dimensional (3D) facial animation synthesis aims to build a mapping from one-dimensional (1D) speech signals to time-varying 3D facial motion signals. Current methods still face challenges in maintaining lip-sync accuracy and producing realistic facial expressions, primarily due to the highly ill-posed nature of this cross-modal mapping. In this paper, we introduce a novel 3D audio-driven facial animation synthesis method through multi-resolution representation and multi-modal feature fusion, called MMTalker which can accurately reconstruct the rich details of 3D facial motion. We first achieve the continuous representation of 3D face with details by mesh parameterization and non-uniform differentiable sampling. The mesh parameterization technique establishes the correspondence between UV plane and 3D facial mesh and is used to offer ground truth for the continuous learning. Differentiable non-uniform sampling enables precise facial detail acquisition by setting learnable sampling probability in each triangular face. Next, we employ residual graph convolutional network and dual cross-attention mechanism to extract discriminative facial motion feature from multiple input modalities. This proposed multimodal fusion strategy takes full use of the hierarchical features of speech and the explicit spatiotemporal geometric features of facial mesh. Finally, a lightweight regression network predicts the vertex-wise geometric displacements of the synthesized talking face by jointly processing the sampled points in the canonical UV space and the encoded facial motion features. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that significant improvements are achieved over state-of-the-art methods, especially in the synchronization accuracy of lip and eye movements.

Medical Scene Reconstruction and Segmentation based on 3D Gaussian RepresentationBin Liu, Wenyan Tian, Huangxin Fu et al.
3D reconstruction of medical images is a key technology in medical image analysis and clinical diagnosis, providing structural visualization support for disease assessment and surgical planning. Traditional methods are computationally expensive and prone to structural discontinuities and loss of detail in sparse slices, making it difficult to meet clinical accuracy requirements. To address these challenges, we propose an efficient 3D reconstruction method based on 3D Gaussian and tri-plane representations. This method not only maintains the advantages of Gaussian representation in efficient rendering and geometric representation but also significantly enhances structural continuity and semantic consistency under sparse slicing conditions. Experimental results on multimodal medical datasets such as US and MRI show that our proposed method can generate high-quality, anatomically coherent, and semantically stable medical images under sparse data conditions, while significantly improving reconstruction efficiency. This provides an efficient and reliable new approach for 3D visualization and clinical analysis of medical images.

3D-aware Image Generation and Editing with Multi-modal ConditionsBo Li, Yi-ke Li, Zhi-fen He et al.
3D-consistent image generation from a single 2D semantic label is an important and challenging research topic in computer graphics and computer vision. Although some related works have made great progress in this field, most of the existing methods suffer from poor disentanglement performance of shape and appearance, and lack multi-modal control. In this paper, we propose a novel end-to-end 3D-aware image generation and editing model incorporating multiple types of conditional inputs, including pure noise, text and reference image. On the one hand, we dive into the latent space of 3D Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and propose a novel disentanglement strategy to separate appearance features from shape features during the generation process. On the other hand, we propose a unified framework for flexible image generation and editing tasks with multi-modal conditions. Our method can generate diverse images with distinct noises, edit the attribute through a text description and conduct style transfer by giving a reference RGB image. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms alternative approaches both qualitatively and quantitatively on image generation and editing.

Semantic-Aware Representation Learning via Conditional Transport for Multi-Label Image ClassificationRen-Dong Xie, Zhi-Fen He, Bo Li et al.
Multi-label image classification is a critical task in machine learning that aims to accurately assign multiple labels to a single image. While existing methods often utilize attention mechanisms or graph convolutional networks to model visual representations, their performance is still constrained by two critical limitations: the inability to learn discriminative semantic-aware features, and the lack of fine-grained alignment between visual representations and label embeddings. To tackle these issues in a unified framework, this paper proposes a novel approach named Semantic-aware representation learning via Conditional Transport for Multi-Label Image Classification (SCT). The proposed method introduces a semantic-related feature learning module that extracts discriminative label-specific features by emphasizing semantic relevance and interaction, along with a conditional transport-based alignment mechanism that enables precise visual-semantic alignment. Extensive experiments on two widely-used benchmark datasets, VOC2007 and MS-COCO, validate the effectiveness of SCT and demonstrate its superior performance compared to existing state-of-the-art methods.
