Deep Learning-Based Robust Optical Guidance for Hypersonic PlatformsAdrien Chan-Hon-Tong, Aurélien Plyer, Baptiste Cadalen et al.
Sensor-based guidance is required for long-range platforms. To bypass the structural limitation of classical registration on reference image framework, we offer in this paper to encode a stack of images of the scene into a deep network. Relying on a stack is showed to be relevant on bimodal scene (e.g. when the scene can or can not be snowy).

Demotivate adversarial defense in remote sensingAdrien Chan-Hon-Tong, Gaston Lenczner, Aurelien Plyer
Convolutional neural networks are currently the state-of-the-art algorithms for many remote sensing applications such as semantic segmentation or object detection. However, these algorithms are extremely sensitive to over-fitting, domain change and adversarial examples specifically designed to fool them. While adversarial attacks are not a threat in most remote sensing applications, one could wonder if strengthening networks to adversarial attacks could also increase their resilience to over-fitting and their ability to deal with the inherent variety of worldwide data. In this work, we study both adversarial retraining and adversarial regularization as adversarial defenses to this purpose. However, we show through several experiments on public remote sensing datasets that adversarial robustness seems uncorrelated to geographic and over-fitting robustness.
STaRFlow: A SpatioTemporal Recurrent Cell for Lightweight Multi-Frame Optical Flow EstimationPierre Godet, Alexandre Boulch, Aurélien Plyer et al.
We present a new lightweight CNN-based algorithm for multi-frame optical flow estimation. Our solution introduces a double recurrence over spatial scale and time through repeated use of a generic "STaR" (SpatioTemporal Recurrent) cell. It includes (i) a temporal recurrence based on conveying learned features rather than optical flow estimates; (ii) an occlusion detection process which is coupled with optical flow estimation and therefore uses a very limited number of extra parameters. The resulting STaRFlow algorithm gives state-of-the-art performances on MPI Sintel and Kitti2015 and involves significantly less parameters than all other methods with comparable results.
