Adversarial Laser Spot: Robust and Covert Physical-World Attack to DNNsChengyin Hu, Yilong Wang, Kalibinuer Tiliwalidi et al.
Most existing deep neural networks (DNNs) are easily disturbed by slight noise. However, there are few researches on physical attacks by deploying lighting equipment. The light-based physical attacks has excellent covertness, which brings great security risks to many vision-based applications (such as self-driving). Therefore, we propose a light-based physical attack, called adversarial laser spot (AdvLS), which optimizes the physical parameters of laser spots through genetic algorithm to perform physical attacks. It realizes robust and covert physical attack by using low-cost laser equipment. As far as we know, AdvLS is the first light-based physical attack that perform physical attacks in the daytime. A large number of experiments in the digital and physical environments show that AdvLS has excellent robustness and covertness. In addition, through in-depth analysis of the experimental data, we find that the adversarial perturbations generated by AdvLS have superior adversarial attack migration. The experimental results show that AdvLS impose serious interference to advanced DNNs, we call for the attention of the proposed AdvLS. Instant-Fold: In-Context Imitation Learning for Deformable Object ManipulationYilong Wang, Cheng Qian, Edward Johns
Deformable object manipulation (DOM) is challenging due to high-dimensional, partially observable states that evolve through long-horizon, topology-changing interactions with multiple valid manipulation modes. We introduce Instant-Fold, an in-context imitation learning framework for DOM. Given a single human demonstration, our policy infers and executes diverse manipulation modes directly from the demonstration, including variations in spatial execution and ordering, without requiring gradient updates. Our approach first learns deformation-aware visual representations via temporal contrastive pretraining, after which a flow-matching transformer policy conditioned on the demonstration predicts actions to execute the intended manipulation mode. Trained entirely in simulation, Instant-Fold generalizes across diverse folding modes and transfers zero-shot to real-world settings without additional data collection or finetuning. Every FLOP Counts: Scaling a 300B Mixture-of-Experts LING LLM without Premium GPUsLing Team, Binwei Zeng, Chao Huang et al.
In this technical report, we tackle the challenges of training large-scale Mixture of Experts (MoE) models, focusing on overcoming cost inefficiency and resource limitations prevalent in such systems. To address these issues, we present two differently sized MoE large language models (LLMs), namely Ling-Lite and Ling-Plus (referred to as "Bailing" in Chinese, spelled Bǎilíng in Pinyin). Ling-Lite contains 16.8 billion parameters with 2.75 billion activated parameters, while Ling-Plus boasts 290 billion parameters with 28.8 billion activated parameters. Both models exhibit comparable performance to leading industry benchmarks. This report offers actionable insights to improve the efficiency and accessibility of AI development in resource-constrained settings, promoting more scalable and sustainable technologies. Specifically, to reduce training costs for large-scale MoE models, we propose innovative methods for (1) optimization of model architecture and training processes, (2) refinement of training anomaly handling, and (3) enhancement of model evaluation efficiency. Additionally, leveraging high-quality data generated from knowledge graphs, our models demonstrate superior capabilities in tool use compared to other models. Ultimately, our experimental findings demonstrate that a 300B MoE LLM can be effectively trained on lower-performance devices while achieving comparable performance to models of a similar scale, including dense and MoE models. Compared to high-performance devices, utilizing a lower-specification hardware system during the pre-training phase demonstrates significant cost savings, reducing computing costs by approximately 20%. Every Step Evolves: Scaling Reinforcement Learning for Trillion-Scale Thinking ModelLing Team, Anqi Shen, Baihui Li et al.
We present Ring-1T, the first open-source, state-of-the-art thinking model with a trillion-scale parameter. It features 1 trillion total parameters and activates approximately 50 billion per token. Training such models at a trillion-parameter scale introduces unprecedented challenges, including train-inference misalignment, inefficiencies in rollout processing, and bottlenecks in the RL system. To address these, we pioneer three interconnected innovations: (1) IcePop stabilizes RL training via token-level discrepancy masking and clipping, resolving instability from training-inference mismatches; (2) C3PO++ improves resource utilization for long rollouts under a token budget by dynamically partitioning them, thereby obtaining high time efficiency; and (3) ASystem, a high-performance RL framework designed to overcome the systemic bottlenecks that impede trillion-parameter model training. Ring-1T delivers breakthrough results across critical benchmarks: 93.4 on AIME-2025, 86.72 on HMMT-2025, 2088 on CodeForces, and 55.94 on ARC-AGI-1. Notably, it attains a silver medal-level result on the IMO-2025, underscoring its exceptional reasoning capabilities. By releasing the complete 1T parameter MoE model to the community, we provide the research community with direct access to cutting-edge reasoning capabilities. This contribution marks a significant milestone in democratizing large-scale reasoning intelligence and establishes a new baseline for open-source model performance.

Enhancing Multilingual Counterfactual Generation through Alignment-as-Preference OptimizationYilong Wang, Qianli Wang, Bohao Chu et al.
Self-generated counterfactual explanations (SCEs) are minimally modified inputs (minimality) generated by large language models (LLMs) that flip their own predictions (validity), offering a causally grounded approach to unraveling black-box LLM behavior. Yet extending them beyond English remains challenging: existing methods struggle to produce valid SCEs in non-dominant languages, and a persistent trade-off between validity and minimality undermines explanation quality. We introduce Macro, a preference alignment framework that applies Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) to multilingual SCE generation, using a composite scoring function to construct preference pairs that effectively translate the trade-off into measurable preference signals. Experiments across four LLMs and seven typologically diverse languages show that Macro improves validity by 12.55\% on average over the chain-of-thought baseline without degrading minimality, while avoiding the severe minimality violations of the translation-based baseline. Compared to supervised fine-tuning, Macro achieves superior performance on both metrics, confirming that explicit preference optimization is essential for balancing this trade-off. Further analyses reveal that Macro increases cross-lingual perturbation alignment and mitigates common generation errors. Our results highlight preference optimization as a promising direction for enhancing multilingual model explanations.

SemEval-2020 Task 4: Commonsense Validation and ExplanationCunxiang Wang, Shuailong Liang, Yili Jin et al.
In this paper, we present SemEval-2020 Task 4, Commonsense Validation and Explanation (ComVE), which includes three subtasks, aiming to evaluate whether a system can distinguish a natural language statement that makes sense to humans from one that does not, and provide the reasons. Specifically, in our first subtask, the participating systems are required to choose from two natural language statements of similar wording the one that makes sense and the one does not. The second subtask additionally asks a system to select the key reason from three options why a given statement does not make sense. In the third subtask, a participating system needs to generate the reason. We finally attracted 39 teams participating at least one of the three subtasks. For Subtask A and Subtask B, the performances of top-ranked systems are close to that of humans. However, for Subtask C, there is still a relatively large gap between systems and human performance. Attack by Unlearning: Unlearning-Induced Adversarial Attacks on Graph Neural NetworksJiahao Zhang, Yilong Wang, Suhang Wang
Graph neural networks (GNNs) are widely used for learning from graph-structured data in domains such as social networks, recommender systems, and financial platforms. To comply with privacy regulations like the GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA, approximate graph unlearning, which aims to remove the influence of specific data points from trained models without full retraining, has become an increasingly important component of trustworthy graph learning. However, approximate unlearning often incurs subtle performance degradation, which may incur negative and unintended side effects. In this work, we show that such degradations can be amplified into adversarial attacks. We introduce the notion of \textbf{unlearning corruption attacks}, where an adversary injects carefully chosen nodes into the training graph and later requests their deletion. Because deletion requests are legally mandated and cannot be denied, this attack surface is both unavoidable and stealthy: the model performs normally during training, but accuracy collapses only after unlearning is applied. Technically, we formulate this attack as a bi-level optimization problem: to overcome the challenges of black-box unlearning and label scarcity, we approximate the unlearning process via gradient-based updates and employ a surrogate model to generate pseudo-labels for the optimization. Extensive experiments across benchmarks and unlearning algorithms demonstrate that small, carefully designed unlearning requests can induce significant accuracy degradation, raising urgent concerns about the robustness of GNN unlearning under real-world regulatory demands. Query-Efficient Agentic Graph Extraction Attacks on GraphRAG SystemsShuhua Yang, Jiahao Zhang, Yilong Wang et al.
Graph-based retrieval-augmented generation (GraphRAG) systems construct knowledge graphs over document collections to support multi-hop reasoning. While prior work shows that GraphRAG responses may leak retrieved subgraphs, the feasibility of query-efficient reconstruction of the hidden graph structure remains unexplored under realistic query budgets. We study a budget-constrained black-box setting where an adversary adaptively queries the system to steal its latent entity-relation graph. We propose AGEA (Agentic Graph Extraction Attack), a framework that leverages a novelty-guided exploration-exploitation strategy, external graph memory modules, and a two-stage graph extraction pipeline combining lightweight discovery with LLM-based filtering. We evaluate AGEA on medical, agriculture, and literary datasets across Microsoft-GraphRAG and LightRAG systems. Under identical query budgets, AGEA significantly outperforms prior attack baselines, recovering up to 90% of entities and relationships while maintaining high precision. These results demonstrate that modern GraphRAG systems are highly vulnerable to structured, agentic extraction attacks, even under strict query limits.

LanP: Rethinking the Impact of Language Priors in Large Vision-Language ModelsZongyu Wu, Yuwei Niu, Hongcheng Gao et al. · tsinghua
Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) have shown impressive performance in various tasks. However, LVLMs suffer from hallucination, which hinders their adoption in the real world. Existing studies emphasized that the strong language priors of LVLMs can overpower visual information, causing hallucinations. However, the positive role of language priors is the key to a powerful LVLM. If the language priors are too weak, LVLMs will struggle to leverage rich parameter knowledge and instruction understanding abilities to complete tasks in challenging visual scenarios where visual information alone is insufficient. Therefore, we propose a benchmark called LanP to rethink the impact of Language Priors in LVLMs. It is designed to investigate how strong language priors are in current LVLMs. LanP consists of 170 images and 340 corresponding well-designed questions. Extensive experiments on 25 popular LVLMs reveal that many LVLMs' language priors are not strong enough to effectively aid question answering when objects are partially hidden. Many models, including GPT-4 Turbo, exhibit an accuracy below 0.5 in such a scenario.

Bridging Source and Target Domains via Link Prediction for Unsupervised Domain Adaptation on GraphsYilong Wang, Tianxiang Zhao, Zongyu Wu et al.
Graph neural networks (GNNs) have shown great ability for node classification on graphs. However, the success of GNNs relies on abundant labeled data, while obtaining high-quality labels is costly and challenging, especially for newly emerging domains. Hence, unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA), which trains a classifier on the labeled source graph and adapts it to the unlabeled target graph, is attracting increasing attention. Various approaches have been proposed to alleviate the distribution shift between the source and target graphs to facilitate the classifier adaptation. However, most of them simply adopt existing UDA techniques developed for independent and identically distributed data to gain domain-invariant node embeddings for graphs, which do not fully consider the graph structure and message-passing mechanism of GNNs during the adaptation and will fail when label distribution shift exists among domains. In this paper, we proposed a novel framework that adopts link prediction to connect nodes between source and target graphs, which can facilitate message-passing between the source and target graphs and augment the target nodes to have ``in-distribution'' neighborhoods with the source domain. This strategy modified the target graph on the input level to reduce its deviation from the source domain in the embedding space and is insensitive to disproportional label distributions across domains. To prevent the loss of discriminative information in the target graph, we further design a novel identity-preserving learning objective, which guides the learning of the edge insertion module together with reconstruction and adaptation losses. Experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework.

One-Shot Dual-Arm Imitation LearningYilong Wang, Edward Johns
We introduce One-Shot Dual-Arm Imitation Learning (ODIL), which enables dual-arm robots to learn precise and coordinated everyday tasks from just a single demonstration of the task. ODIL uses a new three-stage visual servoing (3-VS) method for precise alignment between the end-effector and target object, after which replay of the demonstration trajectory is sufficient to perform the task. This is achieved without requiring prior task or object knowledge, or additional data collection and training following the single demonstration. Furthermore, we propose a new dual-arm coordination paradigm for learning dual-arm tasks from a single demonstration. ODIL was tested on a real-world dual-arm robot, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance across six precise and coordinated tasks in both 4-DoF and 6-DoF settings, and showing robustness in the presence of distractor objects and partial occlusions. TAMT: Temporal-Aware Model Tuning for Cross-Domain Few-Shot Action RecognitionYilong Wang, Zilin Gao, Qilong Wang et al.
Going beyond few-shot action recognition (FSAR), cross-domain FSAR (CDFSAR) has attracted recent research interests by solving the domain gap lying in source-to-target transfer learning. Existing CDFSAR methods mainly focus on joint training of source and target data to mitigate the side effect of domain gap. However, such kind of methods suffer from two limitations: First, pair-wise joint training requires retraining deep models in case of one source data and multiple target ones, which incurs heavy computation cost, especially for large source and small target data. Second, pre-trained models after joint training are adopted to target domain in a straightforward manner, hardly taking full potential of pre-trained models and then limiting recognition performance. To overcome above limitations, this paper proposes a simple yet effective baseline, namely Temporal-Aware Model Tuning (TAMT) for CDFSAR. Specifically, our TAMT involves a decoupled paradigm by performing pre-training on source data and fine-tuning target data, which avoids retraining for multiple target data with single source. To effectively and efficiently explore the potential of pre-trained models in transferring to target domain, our TAMT proposes a Hierarchical Temporal Tuning Network (HTTN), whose core involves local temporal-aware adapters (TAA) and a global temporal-aware moment tuning (GTMT). Particularly, TAA learns few parameters to recalibrate the intermediate features of frozen pre-trained models, enabling efficient adaptation to target domains. Furthermore, GTMT helps to generate powerful video representations, improving match performance on the target domain. Experiments on several widely used video benchmarks show our TAMT outperforms the recently proposed counterparts by 13%$\sim$31%, achieving new state-of-the-art CDFSAR results.

Every Activation Boosted: Scaling General Reasoner to 1 Trillion Open Language FoundationLing Team, Ang Li, Ben Liu et al.
We introduce Ling 2.0, a series reasoning-oriented language foundation built upon the principle that every activation boosts reasoning capability. Designed to scale from tens of billions to one trillion parameters under a unified Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) paradigm, Ling 2.0 emphasizes high sparsity, cross-scale consistency, and efficiency guided by empirical scaling laws. The series includes three non-thinking (instruct) models - Ling-mini-2.0, Ling-flash-2.0, and Ling-1T - ranging from 16B to 1T total parameters and achieving up to 7-fold active-compute efficiency compared with dense counterparts. Ling 2.0 integrates coordinated innovations across model architecture, pre-training, post-training, and infrastructure: a high-sparsity MoE with MTP for efficient reasoning, reasoning-oriented data and mid-training CoT activation, reinforcement-based fine-tuning (DFT, Evo-CoT), and full-scale FP8 training with fine-grained heterogeneous pipelines. At the trillion scale, Ling-1T establishes a new Pareto frontier of reasoning accuracy versus computational efficiency, demonstrating that sparse activation, when properly aligned with reasoning objectives, enables scalable and efficient intelligence. Collectively, Ling 2.0 provides a coherent, open, and efficient foundation for advancing future reasoning and thinking models, including the Ring series built upon the same base.

Enhance GNNs with Reliable Confidence Estimation via Adversarial Calibration LearningYilong Wang, Jiahao Zhang, Tianxiang Zhao et al.
Despite their impressive predictive performance, GNNs often exhibit poor confidence calibration, i.e., their predicted confidence scores do not accurately reflect true correctness likelihood. This issue raises concerns about their reliability in high-stakes domains such as fraud detection, and risk assessment, where well-calibrated predictions are essential for decision-making. To ensure trustworthy predictions, several GNN calibration methods are proposed. Though they can improve global calibration, our experiments reveal that they often fail to generalize across different node groups, leading to inaccurate confidence in node groups with different degree levels, classes, and local structures. In certain cases, they even degrade calibration compared to the original uncalibrated GNN. To address this challenge, we propose a novel AdvCali framework that adaptively enhances calibration across different node groups. Our method leverages adversarial training to automatically identify mis-calibrated node groups and applies a differentiable Group Expected Calibration Error (ECE) loss term to refine confidence estimation within these groups. This allows the model to dynamically adjust its calibration strategy without relying on dataset-specific prior knowledge about miscalibrated subgroups. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate that our approach not only improves global calibration but also significantly enhances calibration within groups defined by feature similarity, topology, and connectivity, outperforming previous methods and demonstrating its effectiveness in practical scenarios.

iFlip: Iterative Feedback-driven Counterfactual Example RefinementYilong Wang, Qianli Wang, Nils Feldhus
Counterfactual examples are minimal edits to an input that alter a model's prediction. They are widely employed in explainable AI to probe model behavior and in natural language processing (NLP) to augment training data. However, generating valid counterfactuals with large language models (LLMs) remains challenging, as existing single-pass methods often fail to induce reliable label changes, neglecting LLMs' self-correction capabilities. To explore this untapped potential, we propose iFlip, an iterative refinement approach that leverages three types of feedback, including model confidence, feature attribution, and natural language. Our results show that iFlip achieves an average 57.8% higher validity than the five state-of-the-art baselines, as measured by the label flipping rate. The user study further corroborates that iFlip outperforms baselines in completeness, overall satisfaction, and feasibility. In addition, ablation studies demonstrate that three components are paramount for iFlip to generate valid counterfactuals: leveraging an appropriate number of iterations, pointing to highly attributed words, and early stopping. Finally, counterfactuals generated by iFlip enable effective counterfactual data augmentation, substantially improving model performance and robustness.

Observer-Actor: Active Vision Imitation Learning with Sparse-View Gaussian SplattingYilong Wang, Cheng Qian, Ruomeng Fan et al.
We propose Observer Actor (ObAct), a novel framework for active vision imitation learning in which the observer moves to optimal visual observations for the actor. We study ObAct on a dual-arm robotic system equipped with wrist-mounted cameras. At test time, ObAct dynamically assigns observer and actor roles: the observer arm constructs a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) representation from three images, virtually explores this to find an optimal camera pose, then moves to this pose; the actor arm then executes a policy using the observer's observations. This formulation enhances the clarity and visibility of both the object and the gripper in the policy's observations. As a result, we enable the training of ambidextrous policies on observations that remain closer to the occlusion-free training distribution, leading to more robust policies. We study this formulation with two existing imitation learning methods -- trajectory transfer and behavior cloning -- and experiments show that ObAct significantly outperforms static-camera setups: trajectory transfer improves by 145% without occlusion and 233% with occlusion, while behavior cloning improves by 75% and 143%, respectively. Unlearning Inversion Attacks for Graph Neural NetworksJiahao Zhang, Yilong Wang, Zhiwei Zhang et al.
Graph unlearning methods aim to efficiently remove the impact of sensitive data from trained GNNs without full retraining, assuming that deleted information cannot be recovered. In this work, we challenge this assumption by introducing the graph unlearning inversion attack: given only black-box access to an unlearned GNN and partial graph knowledge, can an adversary reconstruct the removed edges? We identify two key challenges: varying probability-similarity thresholds for unlearned versus retained edges, and the difficulty of locating unlearned edge endpoints, and address them with TrendAttack. First, we derive and exploit the confidence pitfall, a theoretical and empirical pattern showing that nodes adjacent to unlearned edges exhibit a large drop in model confidence. Second, we design an adaptive prediction mechanism that applies different similarity thresholds to unlearned and other membership edges. Our framework flexibly integrates existing membership inference techniques and extends them with trend features. Experiments on four real-world datasets demonstrate that TrendAttack significantly outperforms state-of-the-art GNN membership inference baselines, exposing a critical privacy vulnerability in current graph unlearning methods.

Are You Using Reliable Graph Prompts? Trojan Prompt Attacks on Graph Neural NetworksMinhua Lin, Zhiwei Zhang, Enyan Dai et al.
Graph Prompt Learning (GPL) has been introduced as a promising approach that uses prompts to adapt pre-trained GNN models to specific downstream tasks without requiring fine-tuning of the entire model. Despite the advantages of GPL, little attention has been given to its vulnerability to backdoor attacks, where an adversary can manipulate the model's behavior by embedding hidden triggers. Existing graph backdoor attacks rely on modifying model parameters during training, but this approach is impractical in GPL as GNN encoder parameters are frozen after pre-training. Moreover, downstream users may fine-tune their own task models on clean datasets, further complicating the attack. In this paper, we propose TGPA, a backdoor attack framework designed specifically for GPL. TGPA injects backdoors into graph prompts without modifying pre-trained GNN encoders and ensures high attack success rates and clean accuracy. To address the challenge of model fine-tuning by users, we introduce a finetuning-resistant poisoning approach that maintains the effectiveness of the backdoor even after downstream model adjustments. Extensive experiments on multiple datasets under various settings demonstrate the effectiveness of TGPA in compromising GPL models with fixed GNN encoders.

Image Fragile Watermarking Algorithm Based on Deneighborhood MappingYilong Wang, Zhenyu Li, Daofu Gong et al.
To address the security risk caused by fixed offset mapping and the limited recoverability of random mapping used in image watermarking, we propose an image self-embedding fragile watermarking algorithm based on deneighborhood mapping. First, the image is divided into several 2*2 blocks, and authentication watermark and recovery watermark are generated based on the average value of the image blocks. Then, the denighborhood mapping is implemented as, for each image block, its mapping block is randomly selected outside it's neighborhood whose size is specified by a parameter. Finally, the authentication watermark and the recovery watermark are embedded in the image block itself and its corresponding mapping block. Theoretical analysis indicates that in the case of continuous region tampering, the proposed watermarking method can achieve better the recovery rate of the tampered image block than the method based on the random mapping. The experimental results verify the rationality and effectiveness of the theoretical analysis. Moreover, compared with the existing embedding algorithms based on random mapping, chaos mapping and Arnold mapping, in the case of continuous region tampering, the average recovery rate of the tampered region achieved by the proposed algorithm is higher.
