DreamDiffusion: Generating High-Quality Images from Brain EEG Signals

This paper introduces DreamDiffusion, a novel method for generating high-quality images directly from brain electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, without the need to translate thoughts into text. DreamDiffusion leverages pre-trained text-to-image models and employs temporal masked signal modeling to pre-train the EEG encoder for effective and robust EEG representations. Additionally, the method further leverages the CLIP image encoder to provide extra supervision to better align EEG, text, and image embeddings with limited EEG-image pairs. Overall, the proposed method overcomes the challenges of using EEG signals for image generation, such as noise, limited information, and individual differences, and achieves promising results. Quantitative and qualitative results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method as a significant step towards portable and low-cost ``thoughts-to-image'', with potential applications in neuroscience and computer vision. NOFA: NeRF-based One-shot Facial Avatar Reconstruction

3D facial avatar reconstruction has been a significant research topic in computer graphics and computer vision, where photo-realistic rendering and flexible controls over poses and expressions are necessary for many related applications. Recently, its performance has been greatly improved with the development of neural radiance fields (NeRF). However, most existing NeRF-based facial avatars focus on subject-specific reconstruction and reenactment, requiring multi-shot images containing different views of the specific subject for training, and the learned model cannot generalize to new identities, limiting its further applications. In this work, we propose a one-shot 3D facial avatar reconstruction framework that only requires a single source image to reconstruct a high-fidelity 3D facial avatar. For the challenges of lacking generalization ability and missing multi-view information, we leverage the generative prior of 3D GAN and develop an efficient encoder-decoder network to reconstruct the canonical neural volume of the source image, and further propose a compensation network to complement facial details. To enable fine-grained control over facial dynamics, we propose a deformation field to warp the canonical volume into driven expressions. Through extensive experimental comparisons, we achieve superior synthesis results compared to several state-of-the-art methods.

High-fidelity Facial Avatar Reconstruction from Monocular Video with Generative Priors

High-fidelity facial avatar reconstruction from a monocular video is a significant research problem in computer graphics and computer vision. Recently, Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) has shown impressive novel view rendering results and has been considered for facial avatar reconstruction. However, the complex facial dynamics and missing 3D information in monocular videos raise significant challenges for faithful facial reconstruction. In this work, we propose a new method for NeRF-based facial avatar reconstruction that utilizes 3D-aware generative prior. Different from existing works that depend on a conditional deformation field for dynamic modeling, we propose to learn a personalized generative prior, which is formulated as a local and low dimensional subspace in the latent space of 3D-GAN. We propose an efficient method to construct the personalized generative prior based on a small set of facial images of a given individual. After learning, it allows for photo-realistic rendering with novel views and the face reenactment can be realized by performing navigation in the latent space. Our proposed method is applicable for different driven signals, including RGB images, 3DMM coefficients, and audios. Compared with existing works, we obtain superior novel view synthesis results and faithfully face reenactment performance.

BAFFLE: Hiding Backdoors in Offline Reinforcement Learning Datasets

Reinforcement learning (RL) makes an agent learn from trial-and-error experiences gathered during the interaction with the environment. Recently, offline RL has become a popular RL paradigm because it saves the interactions with environments. In offline RL, data providers share large pre-collected datasets, and others can train high-quality agents without interacting with the environments. This paradigm has demonstrated effectiveness in critical tasks like robot control, autonomous driving, etc. However, less attention is paid to investigating the security threats to the offline RL system. This paper focuses on backdoor attacks, where some perturbations are added to the data (observations) such that given normal observations, the agent takes high-rewards actions, and low-reward actions on observations injected with triggers. In this paper, we propose Baffle (Backdoor Attack for Offline Reinforcement Learning), an approach that automatically implants backdoors to RL agents by poisoning the offline RL dataset, and evaluate how different offline RL algorithms react to this attack. Our experiments conducted on four tasks and four offline RL algorithms expose a disquieting fact: none of the existing offline RL algorithms is immune to such a backdoor attack. More specifically, Baffle modifies 10\% of the datasets for four tasks (3 robotic controls and 1 autonomous driving). Agents trained on the poisoned datasets perform well in normal settings. However, when triggers are presented, the agents' performance decreases drastically by 63.2\%, 53.9\%, 64.7\%, and 47.4\% in the four tasks on average. The backdoor still persists after fine-tuning poisoned agents on clean datasets. We further show that the inserted backdoor is also hard to be detected by a popular defensive method. This paper calls attention to developing more effective protection for the open-source offline RL dataset.

Temporal-spatial Correlation Attention Network for Clinical Data Analysis in Intensive Care Unit

In recent years, medical information technology has made it possible for electronic health record (EHR) to store fairly complete clinical data. This has brought health care into the era of "big data". However, medical data are often sparse and strongly correlated, which means that medical problems cannot be solved effectively. With the rapid development of deep learning in recent years, it has provided opportunities for the use of big data in healthcare. In this paper, we propose a temporal-saptial correlation attention network (TSCAN) to handle some clinical characteristic prediction problems, such as predicting death, predicting length of stay, detecting physiologic decline, and classifying phenotypes. Based on the design of the attention mechanism model, our approach can effectively remove irrelevant items in clinical data and irrelevant nodes in time according to different tasks, so as to obtain more accurate prediction results. Our method can also find key clinical indicators of important outcomes that can be used to improve treatment options. Our experiments use information from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC-IV) database, which is open to the public. Finally, we have achieved significant performance benefits of 2.0\% (metric) compared to other SOTA prediction methods. We achieved a staggering 90.7\% on mortality rate, 45.1\% on length of stay. PS-NeRV: Patch-wise Stylized Neural Representations for Videos

We study how to represent a video with implicit neural representations (INRs). Classical INRs methods generally utilize MLPs to map input coordinates to output pixels. While some recent works have tried to directly reconstruct the whole image with CNNs. However, we argue that both the above pixel-wise and image-wise strategies are not favorable to video data. Instead, we propose a patch-wise solution, PS-NeRV, which represents videos as a function of patches and the corresponding patch coordinate. It naturally inherits the advantages of image-wise methods, and achieves excellent reconstruction performance with fast decoding speed. The whole method includes conventional modules, like positional embedding, MLPs and CNNs, while also introduces AdaIN to enhance intermediate features. These simple yet essential changes could help the network easily fit high-frequency details. Extensive experiments have demonstrated its effectiveness in several video-related tasks, such as video compression and video inpainting.

Deep Reinforcement Learning Framework for Thoracic Diseases Classification via Prior Knowledge Guidance

The chest X-ray is often utilized for diagnosing common thoracic diseases. In recent years, many approaches have been proposed to handle the problem of automatic diagnosis based on chest X-rays. However, the scarcity of labeled data for related diseases still poses a huge challenge to an accurate diagnosis. In this paper, we focus on the thorax disease diagnostic problem and propose a novel deep reinforcement learning framework, which introduces prior knowledge to direct the learning of diagnostic agents and the model parameters can also be continuously updated as the data increases, like a person's learning process. Especially, 1) prior knowledge can be learned from the pre-trained model based on old data or other domains' similar data, which can effectively reduce the dependence on target domain data, and 2) the framework of reinforcement learning can make the diagnostic agent as exploratory as a human being and improve the accuracy of diagnosis through continuous exploration. The method can also effectively solve the model learning problem in the case of few-shot data and improve the generalization ability of the model. Finally, our approach's performance was demonstrated using the well-known NIH ChestX-ray 14 and CheXpert datasets, and we achieved competitive results. SEAM: Searching Transferable Mixed-Precision Quantization Policy through Large Margin Regularization

Mixed-precision quantization (MPQ) suffers from the time-consuming process of searching the optimal bit-width allocation i.e., the policy) for each layer, especially when using large-scale datasets such as ISLVRC-2012. This limits the practicality of MPQ in real-world deployment scenarios. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel method for efficiently searching for effective MPQ policies using a small proxy dataset instead of the large-scale dataset used for training the model. Deviating from the established norm of employing a consistent dataset for both model training and MPQ policy search stages, our approach, therefore, yields a substantial enhancement in the efficiency of MPQ exploration. Nonetheless, using discrepant datasets poses challenges in searching for a transferable MPQ policy. Driven by the observation that quantization noise of sub-optimal policy exerts a detrimental influence on the discriminability of feature representations -- manifesting as diminished class margins and ambiguous decision boundaries -- our method aims to identify policies that uphold the discriminative nature of feature representations, i.e., intra-class compactness and inter-class separation. This general and dataset-independent property makes us search for the MPQ policy over a rather small-scale proxy dataset and then the policy can be directly used to quantize the model trained on a large-scale dataset. Our method offers several advantages, including high proxy data utilization, no excessive hyper-parameter tuning, and high searching efficiency. We search high-quality MPQ policies with the proxy dataset that has only 4% of the data scale compared to the large-scale target dataset, achieving the same accuracy as searching directly on the latter, improving MPQ searching efficiency by up to 300 times.

Mingling Foresight with Imagination: Model-Based Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning

Recently, model-based agents have achieved better performance than model-free ones using the same computational budget and training time in single-agent environments. However, due to the complexity of multi-agent systems, it is tough to learn the model of the environment. The significant compounding error may hinder the learning process when model-based methods are applied to multi-agent tasks. This paper proposes an implicit model-based multi-agent reinforcement learning method based on value decomposition methods. Under this method, agents can interact with the learned virtual environment and evaluate the current state value according to imagined future states in the latent space, making agents have the foresight. Our approach can be applied to any multi-agent value decomposition method. The experimental results show that our method improves the sample efficiency in different partially observable Markov decision process domains.

Towards Arbitrary Text-driven Image Manipulation via Space Alignment

The recent GAN inversion methods have been able to successfully invert the real image input to the corresponding editable latent code in StyleGAN. By combining with the language-vision model (CLIP), some text-driven image manipulation methods are proposed. However, these methods require extra costs to perform optimization for a certain image or a new attribute editing mode. To achieve a more efficient editing method, we propose a new Text-driven image Manipulation framework via Space Alignment (TMSA). The Space Alignment module aims to align the same semantic regions in CLIP and StyleGAN spaces. Then, the text input can be directly accessed into the StyleGAN space and be used to find the semantic shift according to the text description. The framework can support arbitrary image editing mode without additional cost. Our work provides the user with an interface to control the attributes of a given image according to text input and get the result in real time. Ex tensive experiments demonstrate our superior performance over prior works.

Efficient Policy Generation in Multi-Agent Systems via Hypergraph Neural Network

The application of deep reinforcement learning in multi-agent systems introduces extra challenges. In a scenario with numerous agents, one of the most important concerns currently being addressed is how to develop sufficient collaboration between diverse agents. To address this problem, we consider the form of agent interaction based on neighborhood and propose a multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) algorithm based on the actor-critic method, which can adaptively construct the hypergraph structure representing the agent interaction and further implement effective information extraction and representation learning through hypergraph convolution networks, leading to effective cooperation. Based on different hypergraph generation methods, we present two variants: Actor Hypergraph Convolutional Critic Network (HGAC) and Actor Attention Hypergraph Critic Network (ATT-HGAC). Experiments with different settings demonstrate the advantages of our approach over other existing methods.

MesonGS: Post-training Compression of 3D Gaussians via Efficient Attribute Transformation

3D Gaussian Splatting demonstrates excellent quality and speed in novel view synthesis. Nevertheless, the huge file size of the 3D Gaussians presents challenges for transmission and storage. Current works design compact models to replace the substantial volume and attributes of 3D Gaussians, along with intensive training to distill information. These endeavors demand considerable training time, presenting formidable hurdles for practical deployment. To this end, we propose MesonGS, a codec for post-training compression of 3D Gaussians. Initially, we introduce a measurement criterion that considers both view-dependent and view-independent factors to assess the impact of each Gaussian point on the rendering output, enabling the removal of insignificant points. Subsequently, we decrease the entropy of attributes through two transformations that complement subsequent entropy coding techniques to enhance the file compression rate. More specifically, we first replace rotation quaternions with Euler angles; then, we apply region adaptive hierarchical transform to key attributes to reduce entropy. Lastly, we adopt finer-grained quantization to avoid excessive information loss. Moreover, a well-crafted finetune scheme is devised to restore quality. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MesonGS significantly reduces the size of 3D Gaussians while preserving competitive quality.

TextIR: A Simple Framework for Text-based Editable Image Restoration

Most existing image restoration methods use neural networks to learn strong image-level priors from huge data to estimate the lost information. However, these works still struggle in cases when images have severe information deficits. Introducing external priors or using reference images to provide information also have limitations in the application domain. In contrast, text input is more readily available and provides information with higher flexibility. In this work, we design an effective framework that allows the user to control the restoration process of degraded images with text descriptions. We use the text-image feature compatibility of the CLIP to alleviate the difficulty of fusing text and image features. Our framework can be used for various image restoration tasks, including image inpainting, image super-resolution, and image colorization. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

ITstyler: Image-optimized Text-based Style Transfer

Text-based style transfer is a newly-emerging research topic that uses text information instead of style image to guide the transfer process, significantly extending the application scenario of style transfer. However, previous methods require extra time for optimization or text-image paired data, leading to limited effectiveness. In this work, we achieve a data-efficient text-based style transfer method that does not require optimization at the inference stage. Specifically, we convert text input to the style space of the pre-trained VGG network to realize a more effective style swap. We also leverage CLIP's multi-modal embedding space to learn the text-to-style mapping with the image dataset only. Our method can transfer arbitrary new styles of text input in real-time and synthesize high-quality artistic images.

MesonGS++: Post-training Compression of 3D Gaussian Splatting with Hyperparameter Searching

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) achieves high-quality novel view synthesis with real-time rendering, but its storage cost remains prohibitive for practical deployment. Existing post-training compression methods still rely on many coupled hyperparameters across pruning, transformation, quantization, and entropy coding, making it difficult to control the final compressed size and fully exploit the rate-distortion trade-off. We propose MesonGS++, a size-aware post-training codec for 3D Gaussian compression. On the codec side, MesonGS++ combines joint importance-based pruning, octree geometry coding, attribute transformation, selective vector quantization for higher-degree spherical harmonics, and group-wise mixed-precision quantization with entropy coding. On the configuration side, it treats the reserve ratio and bit-width allocation as the dominant rate-distortion knobs and jointly optimizes them under a target storage budget via discrete sampling and 0--1 integer linear programming. We further propose a linear size estimator and a CUDA parallel quantization operator to accelerate the hyperparameter searching process. Extensive experiments show that MesonGS++ achieves over 34$\times$ compression while preserving rendering fidelity, outperforming state-of-the-art post-training methods and accurately meeting target size budgets. Remarkably, without any training, MesonGS++ can even surpass the PSNR of vanilla 3DGS at a 20$\times$ compression rate on the Stump scene. Improving the Latent Space of Image Style Transfer

Existing neural style transfer researches have studied to match statistical information between the deep features of content and style images, which were extracted by a pre-trained VGG, and achieved significant improvement in synthesizing artistic images. However, in some cases, the feature statistics from the pre-trained encoder may not be consistent with the visual style we perceived. For example, the style distance between images of different styles is less than that of the same style. In such an inappropriate latent space, the objective function of the existing methods will be optimized in the wrong direction, resulting in bad stylization results. In addition, the lack of content details in the features extracted by the pre-trained encoder also leads to the content leak problem. In order to solve these issues in the latent space used by style transfer, we propose two contrastive training schemes to get a refined encoder that is more suitable for this task. The style contrastive loss pulls the stylized result closer to the same visual style image and pushes it away from the content image. The content contrastive loss enables the encoder to retain more available details. We can directly add our training scheme to some existing style transfer methods and significantly improve their results. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our methods.

GeoVideo: Introducing Geometric Regularization into Video Generation Model

Recent advances in video generation have enabled the synthesis of high-quality and visually realistic clips using diffusion transformer models. However, most existing approaches operate purely in the 2D pixel space and lack explicit mechanisms for modeling 3D structures, often resulting in temporally inconsistent geometries, implausible motions, and structural artifacts. In this work, we introduce geometric regularization losses into video generation by augmenting latent diffusion models with per-frame depth prediction. We adopted depth as the geometric representation because of the great progress in depth prediction and its compatibility with image-based latent encoders. Specifically, to enforce structural consistency over time, we propose a multi-view geometric loss that aligns the predicted depth maps across frames within a shared 3D coordinate system. Our method bridges the gap between appearance generation and 3D structure modeling, leading to improved spatio-temporal coherence, shape consistency, and physical plausibility. Experiments across multiple datasets show that our approach produces significantly more stable and geometrically consistent results than existing baselines.

WorldReel: 4D Video Generation with Consistent Geometry and Motion Modeling

Recent video generators achieve striking photorealism, yet remain fundamentally inconsistent in 3D. We present WorldReel, a 4D video generator that is natively spatio-temporally consistent. WorldReel jointly produces RGB frames together with 4D scene representations, including pointmaps, camera trajectory, and dense flow mapping, enabling coherent geometry and appearance modeling over time. Our explicit 4D representation enforces a single underlying scene that persists across viewpoints and dynamic content, yielding videos that remain consistent even under large non-rigid motion and significant camera movement. We train WorldReel by carefully combining synthetic and real data: synthetic data providing precise 4D supervision (geometry, motion, and camera), while real videos contribute visual diversity and realism. This blend allows WorldReel to generalize to in-the-wild footage while preserving strong geometric fidelity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that WorldReel sets a new state-of-the-art for consistent video generation with dynamic scenes and moving cameras, improving metrics of geometric consistency, motion coherence, and reducing view-time artifacts over competing methods. We believe that WorldReel brings video generation closer to 4D-consistent world modeling, where agents can render, interact, and reason about scenes through a single and stable spatiotemporal representation.

FiffDepth: Feed-forward Transformation of Diffusion-Based Generators for Detailed Depth Estimation

Monocular Depth Estimation (MDE) is a fundamental 3D vision problem with numerous applications such as 3D scene reconstruction, autonomous navigation, and AI content creation. However, robust and generalizable MDE remains challenging due to limited real-world labeled data and distribution gaps between synthetic datasets and real data. Existing methods often struggle with real-world test data with low efficiency, reduced accuracy, and lack of detail. To address these issues, we propose an efficient MDE approach named FiffDepth. The key feature of FiffDepth is its use of diffusion priors. It transforms diffusion-based image generators into a feed-forward architecture for detailed depth estimation. FiffDepth preserves key generative features and integrates the strong generalization capabilities of models like DINOv2. Through benchmark evaluations, we demonstrate that FiffDepth achieves exceptional accuracy, stability, and fine-grained detail, offering significant improvements in MDE performance against state-of-the-art MDE approaches. Hierarchical Resource Rationality Explains Human Reading Behavior

Reading is a pervasive and cognitively demanding activity that underpins modern human culture. It is a prime instance of a class of tasks where eye movements are coordinated for the purpose of comprehension. Existing theories explain either eye movements or comprehension during reading, but the critical link between the two remains unclear. Here, we propose resource-rational optimization as a unifying principle governing adaptive reading behavior. Eye movements are selected to maximize expected comprehension while minimizing cognitive and temporal costs, organized hierarchically across nested time scales: fixation decisions support word recognition; sentence-level integration guides skipping and regression; and text-level comprehension goals shape memory construction and rereading. A computational implementation successfully replicates an unprecedented range of findings in human reading, from lexical effects to comprehension outcomes. Together, these results suggest that resource rationality provides a general mechanism for coordinating perception, memory, and action in knowledge-intensive human behaviors, offering a principled account of how complex cognitive skills adapt to limited resources.

Chest X-ray Image Classification: A Causal Perspective

The chest X-ray (CXR) is one of the most common and easy-to-get medical tests used to diagnose common diseases of the chest. Recently, many deep learning-based methods have been proposed that are capable of effectively classifying CXRs. Even though these techniques have worked quite well, it is difficult to establish whether what these algorithms actually learn is the cause-and-effect link between diseases and their causes or just how to map labels to photos.In this paper, we propose a causal approach to address the CXR classification problem, which constructs a structural causal model (SCM) and uses the backdoor adjustment to select effective visual information for CXR classification. Specially, we design different probability optimization functions to eliminate the influence of confounders on the learning of real causality. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms the open-source NIH ChestX-ray14 in terms of classification performance.

CMS-LSTM: Context Embedding and Multi-Scale Spatiotemporal Expression LSTM for Predictive Learning

Spatiotemporal predictive learning (ST-PL) is a hotspot with numerous applications, such as object movement and meteorological prediction. It aims at predicting the subsequent frames via observed sequences. However, inherent uncertainty among consecutive frames exacerbates the difficulty in long-term prediction. To tackle the increasing ambiguity during forecasting, we design CMS-LSTM to focus on context correlations and multi-scale spatiotemporal flow with details on fine-grained locals, containing two elaborate designed blocks: Context Embedding (CE) and Spatiotemporal Expression (SE) blocks. CE is designed for abundant context interactions, while SE focuses on multi-scale spatiotemporal expression in hidden states. The newly introduced blocks also facilitate other spatiotemporal models (e.g., PredRNN, SA-ConvLSTM) to produce representative implicit features for ST-PL and improve prediction quality. Qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and flexibility of our proposed method. With fewer params, CMS-LSTM outperforms state-of-the-art methods in numbers of metrics on two representative benchmarks and scenarios. Code is available at https://github.com/czh-98/CMS-LSTM.

AutoRegressive Generation with B-rep Holistic Token Sequence Representation

Previous representation and generation approaches for the B-rep relied on graph-based representations that disentangle geometric and topological features through decoupled computational pipelines, thereby precluding the application of sequence-based generative frameworks, such as transformer architectures that have demonstrated remarkable performance. In this paper, we propose BrepARG, the first attempt to encode B-rep's geometry and topology into a holistic token sequence representation, enabling sequence-based B-rep generation with an autoregressive architecture. Specifically, BrepARG encodes B-rep into 3 types of tokens: geometry and position tokens representing geometric features, and face index tokens representing topology. Then the holistic token sequence is constructed hierarchically, starting with constructing the geometry blocks (i.e., faces and edges) using the above tokens, followed by geometry block sequencing. Finally, we assemble the holistic sequence representation for the entire B-rep. We also construct a transformer-based autoregressive model that learns the distribution over holistic token sequences via next-token prediction, using a multi-layer decoder-only architecture with causal masking. Experiments demonstrate that BrepARG achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. BrepARG validates the feasibility of representing B-rep as holistic token sequences, opening new directions for B-rep generation.

Modeling Trial-and-Error Navigation With a Sequential Decision Model of Information Scent

Users often struggle to locate an item within an information architecture, particularly when links are ambiguous or deeply nested in hierarchies. Information scent has been used to explain why users select incorrect links, but this concept assumes that users see all available links before deciding. In practice, users frequently select a link too quickly, overlook relevant cues, and then rely on backtracking when errors occur. We extend the concept of information scent by framing navigation as a sequential decision-making problem under memory constraints. Specifically, we assume that users do not scan entire pages but instead inspect strategically, looking "just enough" to find the target given their time budget. To choose which item to inspect next, they consider both local (this page) and global (site) scent; however, both are constrained by memory. Trying to avoid wasting time, they occasionally choose the wrong links without inspecting everything on a page. Comparisons with empirical data show that our model replicates key navigation behaviors: premature selections, wrong turns, and recovery from backtracking. We conclude that trial-and-error behavior is well explained by information scent when accounting for the sequential and bounded characteristics of the navigation problem.

BrepLLM: Native Boundary Representation Understanding with Large Language Models

Current token-sequence-based Large Language Models (LLMs) are not well-suited for directly processing 3D Boundary Representation (Brep) models that contain complex geometric and topological information. We propose BrepLLM, the first framework that enables LLMs to parse and reason over raw Brep data, bridging the modality gap between structured 3D geometry and natural language. BrepLLM employs a two-stage training pipeline: Cross-modal Alignment Pre-training and Multi-stage LLM Fine-tuning. In the first stage, an adaptive UV sampling strategy converts Breps into graphs representation with geometric and topological information. We then design a hierarchical BrepEncoder to extract features from geometry (i.e., faces and edges) and topology, producing both a single global token and a sequence of node tokens. Then we align the global token with text embeddings from a frozen CLIP text encoder (ViT-L/14) via contrastive learning. In the second stage, we integrate the pretrained BrepEncoder into an LLM. We then align its sequence of node tokens using a three-stage progressive training strategy: (1) training an MLP-based semantic mapping from Brep representation to 2D with 2D-LLM priors. (2) performing fine-tuning of the LLM. (3) designing a Mixture-of-Query Experts (MQE) to enhance geometric diversity modeling. We also construct Brep2Text, a dataset comprising 269,444 Brep-text question-answer pairs. Experiments show that BrepLLM achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) results on 3D object classification and captioning tasks.

Simulation-based Optimization for Augmented Reading

Augmented reading systems aim to adapt text presentation to improve comprehension and task performance, yet existing approaches rely heavily on heuristics, opaque data-driven models, or repeated human involvement in the design loop. We propose framing augmented reading as a simulation-based optimization problem grounded in resource-rational models of human reading. These models instantiate a simulated reader that allocates limited cognitive resources, such as attention, memory, and time under task demands, enabling systematic evaluation of text user interfaces. We introduce two complementary optimization pipelines: an offline approach that explores design alternatives using simulated readers, and an online approach that personalizes reading interfaces in real time using ongoing interaction data. Together, this perspective enables adaptive, explainable, and scalable augmented reading design without relying solely on human testing.

SizeGS: Size-aware Compression of 3D Gaussians with Hierarchical Mixed Precision Quantization

Effective compression technology is crucial for 3DGS to adapt to varying storage and transmission conditions. However, existing methods fail to address size constraints while maintaining optimal quality. In this paper, we introduce SizeGS, a framework that compresses 3DGS within a specified size budget while optimizing visual quality. We start with a size estimator to establish a clear relationship between file size and hyperparameters. Leveraging this estimator, we incorporate mixed precision quantization (MPQ) into 3DGS attributes, structuring MPQ in two hierarchical level -- inter-attribute and intra-attribute -- to optimize visual quality under the size constraint. At the inter-attribute level, we assign bit-widths to each attribute channel by formulating the combinatorial optimization as a 0-1 integer linear program, which can be efficiently solved. At the intra-attribute level, we divide each attribute channel into blocks of vectors, quantizing each vector based on the optimal bit-width derived at the inter-attribute level. Dynamic programming determines block lengths. Using the size estimator and MPQ, we develop a calibrated algorithm to identify optimal hyperparameters in just 10 minutes, achieving a 1.69$\times$ efficiency increase with quality comparable to state-of-the-art methods.

BRepFormer: Transformer-Based B-rep Geometric Feature Recognition

Recognizing geometric features on B-rep models is a cornerstone technique for multimedia content-based retrieval and has been widely applied in intelligent manufacturing. However, previous research often merely focused on Machining Feature Recognition (MFR), falling short in effectively capturing the intricate topological and geometric characteristics of complex geometry features. In this paper, we propose BRepFormer, a novel transformer-based model to recognize both machining feature and complex CAD models' features. BRepFormer encodes and fuses the geometric and topological features of the models. Afterwards, BRepFormer utilizes a transformer architecture for feature propagation and a recognition head to identify geometry features. During each iteration of the transformer, we incorporate a bias that combines edge features and topology features to reinforce geometric constraints on each face. In addition, we also proposed a dataset named Complex B-rep Feature Dataset (CBF), comprising 20,000 B-rep models. By covering more complex B-rep models, it is better aligned with industrial applications. The experimental results demonstrate that BRepFormer achieves state-of-the-art accuracy on the MFInstSeg, MFTRCAD, and our CBF datasets.

DragScene: Interactive 3D Scene Editing with Single-view Drag Instructions

3D editing has shown remarkable capability in editing scenes based on various instructions. However, existing methods struggle with achieving intuitive, localized editing, such as selectively making flowers blossom. Drag-style editing has shown exceptional capability to edit images with direct manipulation instead of ambiguous text commands. Nevertheless, extending drag-based editing to 3D scenes presents substantial challenges due to multi-view inconsistency. To this end, we introduce DragScene, a framework that integrates drag-style editing with diverse 3D representations. First, latent optimization is performed on a reference view to generate 2D edits based on user instructions. Subsequently, coarse 3D clues are reconstructed from the reference view using a point-based representation to capture the geometric details of the edits. The latent representation of the edited view is then mapped to these 3D clues, guiding the latent optimization of other views. This process ensures that edits are propagated seamlessly across multiple views, maintaining multi-view consistency. Finally, the target 3D scene is reconstructed from the edited multi-view images. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DragScene facilitates precise and flexible drag-style editing of 3D scenes, supporting broad applicability across diverse 3D representations.

Positional Encoding Field

Diffusion Transformers (DiTs) have emerged as the dominant architecture for visual generation, powering state-of-the-art image and video models. By representing images as patch tokens with positional encodings (PEs), DiTs combine Transformer scalability with spatial and temporal inductive biases. In this work, we revisit how DiTs organize visual content and discover that patch tokens exhibit a surprising degree of independence: even when PEs are perturbed, DiTs still produce globally coherent outputs, indicating that spatial coherence is primarily governed by PEs. Motivated by this finding, we introduce the Positional Encoding Field (PE-Field), which extends positional encodings from the 2D plane to a structured 3D field. PE-Field incorporates depth-aware encodings for volumetric reasoning and hierarchical encodings for fine-grained sub-patch control, enabling DiTs to model geometry directly in 3D space. Our PE-Field-augmented DiT achieves state-of-the-art performance on single-image novel view synthesis and generalizes to controllable spatial image editing.

A Resource-Rational Principle for Modeling Visual Attention Control

Understanding how people allocate visual attention is central to Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), yet existing computational models of attention are often either descriptive, task-specific, or difficult to interpret. My dissertation develops a resource-rational, simulation-based framework for modeling visual attention as a sequential decision-making process under perceptual, memory, and time constraints. I formalize visual tasks, such as reading and multitasking, as bounded-optimal control problems using Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes, enabling eye-movement behaviors such as fixation and attention switching to emerge from rational adaptation rather than being hand-coded or purely data-driven. These models are instantiated in simulation environments spanning traditional text reading and reading-while-walking with smart glasses, where they reproduce classic empirical effects, explain observed trade-offs between comprehension and safety, and generate novel predictions under time pressure and interface variation. Collectively, this work contributes a unified computational account of visual attention, offering new tools for theory-driven and resource-efficient HCI design.

Organ-Agents: Virtual Human Physiology Simulator via LLMs

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have enabled new possibilities in simulating complex physiological systems. We introduce Organ-Agents, a multi-agent framework that simulates human physiology via LLM-driven agents. Each Simulator models a specific system (e.g., cardiovascular, renal, immune). Training consists of supervised fine-tuning on system-specific time-series data, followed by reinforcement-guided coordination using dynamic reference selection and error correction. We curated data from 7,134 sepsis patients and 7,895 controls, generating high-resolution trajectories across 9 systems and 125 variables. Organ-Agents achieved high simulation accuracy on 4,509 held-out patients, with per-system MSEs <0.16 and robustness across SOFA-based severity strata. External validation on 22,689 ICU patients from two hospitals showed moderate degradation under distribution shifts with stable simulation. Organ-Agents faithfully reproduces critical multi-system events (e.g., hypotension, hyperlactatemia, hypoxemia) with coherent timing and phase progression. Evaluation by 15 critical care physicians confirmed realism and physiological plausibility (mean Likert ratings 3.9 and 3.7). Organ-Agents also enables counterfactual simulations under alternative sepsis treatment strategies, generating trajectories and APACHE II scores aligned with matched real-world patients. In downstream early warning tasks, classifiers trained on synthetic data showed minimal AUROC drops (<0.04), indicating preserved decision-relevant patterns. These results position Organ-Agents as a credible, interpretable, and generalizable digital twin for precision diagnosis, treatment simulation, and hypothesis testing in critical care.

Tuning-Free Visual Customization via View Iterative Self-Attention Control

Fine-Tuning Diffusion Models enable a wide range of personalized generation and editing applications on diverse visual modalities. While Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) accelerates the fine-tuning process, it still requires multiple reference images and time-consuming training, which constrains its scalability for large-scale and real-time applications. In this paper, we propose \textit{View Iterative Self-Attention Control (VisCtrl)} to tackle this challenge. Specifically, VisCtrl is a training-free method that injects the appearance and structure of a user-specified subject into another subject in the target image, unlike previous approaches that require fine-tuning the model. Initially, we obtain the initial noise for both the reference and target images through DDIM inversion. Then, during the denoising phase, features from the reference image are injected into the target image via the self-attention mechanism. Notably, by iteratively performing this feature injection process, we ensure that the reference image features are gradually integrated into the target image. This approach results in consistent and harmonious editing with only one reference image in a few denoising steps. Moreover, benefiting from our plug-and-play architecture design and the proposed Feature Gradual Sampling strategy for multi-view editing, our method can be easily extended to edit in complex visual domains. Extensive experiments show the efficacy of VisCtrl across a spectrum of tasks, including personalized editing of images, videos, and 3D scenes.

Instrumental Variable Learning for Chest X-ray Classification

The chest X-ray (CXR) is commonly employed to diagnose thoracic illnesses, but the challenge of achieving accurate automatic diagnosis through this method persists due to the complex relationship between pathology. In recent years, various deep learning-based approaches have been suggested to tackle this problem but confounding factors such as image resolution or noise problems often damage model performance. In this paper, we focus on the chest X-ray classification task and proposed an interpretable instrumental variable (IV) learning framework, to eliminate the spurious association and obtain accurate causal representation. Specifically, we first construct a structural causal model (SCM) for our task and learn the confounders and the preliminary representations of IV, we then leverage electronic health record (EHR) as auxiliary information and we fuse the above feature with our transformer-based semantic fusion module, so the IV has the medical semantic. Meanwhile, the reliability of IV is further guaranteed via the constraints of mutual information between related causal variables. Finally, our approach's performance is demonstrated using the MIMIC-CXR, NIH ChestX-ray 14, and CheXpert datasets, and we achieve competitive results.

Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning with Hypergraph Convolution

Recent years have witnessed the great success of multi-agent systems (MAS). Value decomposition, which decomposes joint action values into individual action values, has been an important work in MAS. However, many value decomposition methods ignore the coordination among different agents, leading to the notorious "lazy agents" problem. To enhance the coordination in MAS, this paper proposes HyperGraph CoNvolution MIX (HGCN-MIX), a method that incorporates hypergraph convolution with value decomposition. HGCN-MIX models agents as well as their relationships as a hypergraph, where agents are nodes and hyperedges among nodes indicate that the corresponding agents can coordinate to achieve larger rewards. Then, it trains a hypergraph that can capture the collaborative relationships among agents. Leveraging the learned hypergraph to consider how other agents' observations and actions affect their decisions, the agents in a MAS can better coordinate. We evaluate HGCN-MIX in the StarCraft II multi-agent challenge benchmark. The experimental results demonstrate that HGCN-MIX can train joint policies that outperform or achieve a similar level of performance as the current state-of-the-art techniques. We also observe that HGCN-MIX has an even more significant improvement of performance in the scenarios with a large amount of agents. Besides, we conduct additional analysis to emphasize that when the hypergraph learns more relationships, HGCN-MIX can train stronger joint policies.

Semantic-Sparse Colorization Network for Deep Exemplar-based Colorization

Exemplar-based colorization approaches rely on reference image to provide plausible colors for target gray-scale image. The key and difficulty of exemplar-based colorization is to establish an accurate correspondence between these two images. Previous approaches have attempted to construct such a correspondence but are faced with two obstacles. First, using luminance channels for the calculation of correspondence is inaccurate. Second, the dense correspondence they built introduces wrong matching results and increases the computation burden. To address these two problems, we propose Semantic-Sparse Colorization Network (SSCN) to transfer both the global image style and detailed semantic-related colors to the gray-scale image in a coarse-to-fine manner. Our network can perfectly balance the global and local colors while alleviating the ambiguous matching problem. Experiments show that our method outperforms existing methods in both quantitative and qualitative evaluation and achieves state-of-the-art performance.

HAVEN: Hierarchical Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning with Dual Coordination Mechanism

Recently, some challenging tasks in multi-agent systems have been solved by some hierarchical reinforcement learning methods. Inspired by the intra-level and inter-level coordination in the human nervous system, we propose a novel value decomposition framework HAVEN based on hierarchical reinforcement learning for fully cooperative multi-agent problems. To address the instability arising from the concurrent optimization of policies between various levels and agents, we introduce the dual coordination mechanism of inter-level and inter-agent strategies by designing reward functions in a two-level hierarchy. HAVEN does not require domain knowledge and pre-training, and can be applied to any value decomposition variant. Our method achieves desirable results on different decentralized partially observable Markov decision process domains and outperforms other popular multi-agent hierarchical reinforcement learning algorithms.

The $f$-Divergence Reinforcement Learning Framework

The framework of deep reinforcement learning (DRL) provides a powerful and widely applicable mathematical formalization for sequential decision-making. This paper present a novel DRL framework, termed \emph{$f$-Divergence Reinforcement Learning (FRL)}. In FRL, the policy evaluation and policy improvement phases are simultaneously performed by minimizing the $f$-divergence between the learning policy and sampling policy, which is distinct from conventional DRL algorithms that aim to maximize the expected cumulative rewards. We theoretically prove that minimizing such $f$-divergence can make the learning policy converge to the optimal policy. Besides, we convert the process of training agents in FRL framework to a saddle-point optimization problem with a specific $f$ function through Fenchel conjugate, which forms new methods for policy evaluation and policy improvement. Through mathematical proofs and empirical evaluation, we demonstrate that the FRL framework has two advantages: (1) policy evaluation and policy improvement processes are performed simultaneously and (2) the issues of overestimating value function are naturally alleviated. To evaluate the effectiveness of the FRL framework, we conduct experiments on Atari 2600 video games and show that agents trained in the FRL framework match or surpass the baseline DRL algorithms.

MMD-MIX: Value Function Factorisation with Maximum Mean Discrepancy for Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning

In the real world, many tasks require multiple agents to cooperate with each other under the condition of local observations. To solve such problems, many multi-agent reinforcement learning methods based on Centralized Training with Decentralized Execution have been proposed. One representative class of work is value decomposition, which decomposes the global joint Q-value $Q_\text{jt}$ into individual Q-values $Q_a$ to guide individuals' behaviors, e.g. VDN (Value-Decomposition Networks) and QMIX. However, these baselines often ignore the randomness in the situation. We propose MMD-MIX, a method that combines distributional reinforcement learning and value decomposition to alleviate the above weaknesses. Besides, to improve data sampling efficiency, we were inspired by REM (Random Ensemble Mixture) which is a robust RL algorithm to explicitly introduce randomness into the MMD-MIX. The experiments demonstrate that MMD-MIX outperforms prior baselines in the StarCraft Multi-Agent Challenge (SMAC) environment.

SIDE: State Inference for Partially Observable Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning

As one of the solutions to the decentralized partially observable Markov decision process (Dec-POMDP) problems, the value decomposition method has achieved significant results recently. However, most value decomposition methods require the fully observable state of the environment during training, but this is not feasible in some scenarios where only incomplete and noisy observations can be obtained. Therefore, we propose a novel value decomposition framework, named State Inference for value DEcomposition (SIDE), which eliminates the need to know the global state by simultaneously seeking solutions to the two problems of optimal control and state inference. SIDE can be extended to any value decomposition method to tackle partially observable problems. By comparing with the performance of different algorithms in StarCraft II micromanagement tasks, we verified that though without accessible states, SIDE can infer the current state that contributes to the reinforcement learning process based on past local observations and even achieve superior results to many baselines in some complex scenarios.

Learning to Coordinate via Multiple Graph Neural Networks

The collaboration between agents has gradually become an important topic in multi-agent systems. The key is how to efficiently solve the credit assignment problems. This paper introduces MGAN for collaborative multi-agent reinforcement learning, a new algorithm that combines graph convolutional networks and value-decomposition methods. MGAN learns the representation of agents from different perspectives through multiple graph networks, and realizes the proper allocation of attention between all agents. We show the amazing ability of the graph network in representation learning by visualizing the output of the graph network, and therefore improve interpretability for the actions of each agent in the multi-agent system.

3D-ANAS: 3D Asymmetric Neural Architecture Search for Fast Hyperspectral Image Classification

Hyperspectral images involve abundant spectral and spatial information, playing an irreplaceable role in land-cover classification. Recently, based on deep learning technologies, an increasing number of HSI classification approaches have been proposed, which demonstrate promising performance. However, previous studies suffer from two major drawbacks: 1) the architecture of most deep learning models is manually designed, relies on specialized knowledge, and is relatively tedious. Moreover, in HSI classifications, datasets captured by different sensors have different physical properties. Correspondingly, different models need to be designed for different datasets, which further increases the workload of designing architectures; 2) the mainstream framework is a patch-to-pixel framework. The overlap regions of patches of adjacent pixels are calculated repeatedly, which increases computational cost and time cost. Besides, the classification accuracy is sensitive to the patch size, which is artificially set based on extensive investigation experiments. To overcome the issues mentioned above, we firstly propose a 3D asymmetric neural network search algorithm and leverage it to automatically search for efficient architectures for HSI classifications. By analysing the characteristics of HSIs, we specifically build a 3D asymmetric decomposition search space, where spectral and spatial information are processed with different decomposition convolutions. Furthermore, we propose a new fast classification framework, i,e., pixel-to-pixel classification framework, which has no repetitive operations and reduces the overall cost. Experiments on three public HSI datasets captured by different sensors demonstrate the networks designed by our 3D-ANAS achieve competitive performance compared to several state-of-the-art methods, while having a much faster inference speed.

Hyperspectral Image Classification with Spatial Consistence Using Fully Convolutional Spatial Propagation Network

In recent years, deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have shown impressive ability to represent hyperspectral images (HSIs) and achieved encouraging results in HSI classification. However, the existing CNN-based models operate at the patch-level, in which pixel is separately classified into classes using a patch of images around it. This patch-level classification will lead to a large number of repeated calculations, and it is difficult to determine the appropriate patch size that is beneficial to classification accuracy. In addition, the conventional CNN models operate convolutions with local receptive fields, which cause failures in modeling contextual spatial information. To overcome the aforementioned limitations, we propose a novel end-to-end, pixels-to-pixels fully convolutional spatial propagation network (FCSPN) for HSI classification. Our FCSPN consists of a 3D fully convolution network (3D-FCN) and a convolutional spatial propagation network (CSPN). Specifically, the 3D-FCN is firstly introduced for reliable preliminary classification, in which a novel dual separable residual (DSR) unit is proposed to effectively capture spectral and spatial information simultaneously with fewer parameters. Moreover, the channel-wise attention mechanism is adapted in the 3D-FCN to grasp the most informative channels from redundant channel information. Finally, the CSPN is introduced to capture the spatial correlations of HSI via learning a local linear spatial propagation, which allows maintaining the HSI spatial consistency and further refining the classification results. Experimental results on three HSI benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed FCSPN achieves state-of-the-art performance on HSI classification.

Locality-Aware Rotated Ship Detection in High-Resolution Remote Sensing Imagery Based on Multi-Scale Convolutional Network

Ship detection has been an active and vital topic in the field of remote sensing for a decade, but it is still a challenging problem due to the large scale variations, the high aspect ratios, the intensive arrangement, and the background clutter disturbance. In this letter, we propose a locality-aware rotated ship detection (LARSD) framework based on a multi-scale convolutional neural network (CNN) to tackle these issues. The proposed framework applies a UNet-like multi-scale CNN to generate multi-scale feature maps with high-level semantic information in high resolution. Then, a rotated anchor-based regression is applied for directly predicting the probability, the edge distances, and the angle of ships. Finally, a locality-aware score alignment is proposed to fix the mismatch between classification results and location results caused by the independence of each subnet. Furthermore, to enlarge the datasets of ship detection, we build a new high-resolution ship detection (HRSD) dataset, where 2499 images and 9269 instances were collected from Google Earth with different resolutions. Experiments based on public dataset HRSC2016 and our HRSD dataset demonstrate that our detection method achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Multispectral Pan-sharpening via Dual-Channel Convolutional Network with Convolutional LSTM Based Hierarchical Spatial-Spectral Feature Fusion

Multispectral pan-sharpening aims at producing a high resolution (HR) multispectral (MS) image in both spatial and spectral domains by fusing a panchromatic (PAN) image and a corresponding MS image. In this paper, we propose a novel dual-channel network (DCNet) framework for MS pan-sharpening. In our DCNet, the dual-channel backbone involves a spatial channel to capture spatial information with a 2D CNN, and a spectral channel to extract spectral information with a 3D CNN. This heterogeneous 2D/3D CNN architecture can minimize causing spectral information distortion, which typically happens in conventional 2D CNN models. In order to fully integrate the spatial and spectral features captured from different levels, we introduce a multi-level fusion strategy. Specifically, a spatial-spectral CLSTM (S$^2$-CLSTM) module is proposed for fusing the hierarchical spatial and spectral features, which can effectively capture correlations among multi-level features. The S$^2$-CLSTM module attaches two fusion ways: the intra-level fusion via bi-directional lateral connections and inter-level fusion via the cell state in the S$^2$-CLSTM. Finally, the ideal HR-MS image is recovered by a reconstruction module. Extensive experiments have been conducted at both simulated lower scale and the original scale of real-world datasets. Compared with the state-of-the-art methods, the proposed DCNet achieves superior or competitive performance.
