CV-Arena: An Open Benchmark for Instructional Computer Vision Problem Solving with Human-AI Collaborative PreferencesFangzhou Lin, Peiran Li, Lingyu Xu et al.
Instruction-guided image editing is becoming a general interface for visual work, yet existing benchmarks still focus largely on narrow appearance edits and do not fully capture the diversity of real-image tasks in professional workflows. Here, we define instructional computer vision problem solving as a broader formulation of image editing: given a real input image and a natural-language instruction, a system must produce an edited output that realizes the requested transformation while satisfying explicit preservation, geometric, physical, and usability constraints. We introduce CV-Arena, an open benchmark designed to evaluate this capability at professional scales. CV-Arena contains 12K high-resolution real-image instruction pairs spanning 16 instruction-based visual task types, constructed using CogRetriever, a dual-track retrieval-and-curation pipeline that combines targeted web search, agentic query refinement, verification, and traceability. To evaluate models at scale while preserving human fidelity, we propose Active Elo, a human-AI collaborative preference protocol that leverages CV-Judge, a logic-gated, multi-dimensional VLM evaluator, to reject clear failures and resolve high-confidence comparisons; and to route close, high-quality comparisons to expert raters. Mixed human and AI supervision is then aggregated through reliability-weighted Elo updates. Our comprehensive evaluation of 21 systems, including proprietary, open-source, and agentic models, on CV-Arena reveals persistent gaps in instruction adherence, physical reasoning, structural control, and fine-grained detail preservation. We further develop CV-Agent, a lightweight agentic model that combines planning, editing, and verification, and demonstrate that closed-loop reasoning is a promising direction for professional-grade instruction-following visual editing.

VEFX-Bench: A Holistic Benchmark for Generic Video Editing and Visual EffectsXiangbo Gao, Sicong Jiang, Bangya Liu et al.
As AI-assisted video creation becomes increasingly practical, instruction-guided video editing has become essential for refining generated or captured footage to meet professional requirements. Yet the field still lacks both a large-scale human-annotated dataset with complete editing examples and a standardized evaluator for comparing editing systems. Existing resources are limited by small scale, missing edited outputs, or the absence of human quality labels, while current evaluation often relies on expensive manual inspection or generic vision-language model judges that are not specialized for editing quality. We introduce VEFX-Dataset, a human-annotated dataset containing 5,049 video editing examples across 9 major editing categories and 32 subcategories, each labeled along three decoupled dimensions: Instruction Following, Rendering Quality, and Edit Exclusivity. Building on VEFX-Dataset, we propose VEFX-Reward, a reward model designed specifically for video editing quality assessment. VEFX-Reward jointly processes the source video, the editing instruction, and the edited video, and predicts per-dimension quality scores via ordinal regression. We further release VEFX-Bench, a benchmark of 300 curated video-prompt pairs for standardized comparison of editing systems. Experiments show that VEFX-Reward aligns more strongly with human judgments than generic VLM judges and prior reward models on both standard IQA/VQA metrics and group-wise preference evaluation. Using VEFX-Reward as an evaluator, we benchmark representative commercial and open-source video editing systems, revealing a persistent gap between visual plausibility, instruction following, and edit locality in current models. MambaST: A Plug-and-Play Cross-Spectral Spatial-Temporal Fuser for Efficient Pedestrian DetectionXiangbo Gao, Asiegbu Miracle Kanu-Asiegbu, Xiaoxiao Du
This paper proposes MambaST, a plug-and-play cross-spectral spatial-temporal fusion pipeline for efficient pedestrian detection. Several challenges exist for pedestrian detection in autonomous driving applications. First, it is difficult to perform accurate detection using RGB cameras under dark or low-light conditions. Cross-spectral systems must be developed to integrate complementary information from multiple sensor modalities, such as thermal and visible cameras, to improve the robustness of the detections. Second, pedestrian detection models are latency-sensitive. Efficient and easy-to-scale detection models with fewer parameters are highly desirable for real-time applications such as autonomous driving. Third, pedestrian video data provides spatial-temporal correlations of pedestrian movement. It is beneficial to incorporate temporal as well as spatial information to enhance pedestrian detection. This work leverages recent advances in the state space model (Mamba) and proposes a novel Multi-head Hierarchical Patching and Aggregation (MHHPA) structure to extract both fine-grained and coarse-grained information from both RGB and thermal imagery. Experimental results show that the proposed MHHPA is an effective and efficient alternative to a Transformer model for cross-spectral pedestrian detection. Our proposed model also achieves superior performance on small-scale pedestrian detection. Scale-free and Task-agnostic Attack: Generating Photo-realistic Adversarial Patterns with Patch Quilting GeneratorXiangbo Gao, Cheng Luo, Qinliang Lin et al.
\noindent Traditional L_p norm-restricted image attack algorithms suffer from poor transferability to black box scenarios and poor robustness to defense algorithms. Recent CNN generator-based attack approaches can synthesize unrestricted and semantically meaningful entities to the image, which is shown to be transferable and robust. However, such methods attack images by either synthesizing local adversarial entities, which are only suitable for attacking specific contents or performing global attacks, which are only applicable to a specific image scale. In this paper, we propose a novel Patch Quilting Generative Adversarial Networks (PQ-GAN) to learn the first scale-free CNN generator that can be applied to attack images with arbitrary scales for various computer vision tasks. The principal investigation on transferability of the generated adversarial examples, robustness to defense frameworks, and visual quality assessment show that the proposed PQG-based attack framework outperforms the other nine state-of-the-art adversarial attack approaches when attacking the neural networks trained on two standard evaluation datasets (i.e., ImageNet and CityScapes).

Sample hardness based gradient loss for long-tailed cervical cell detectionMinmin Liu, Xuechen Li, Xiangbo Gao et al.
Due to the difficulty of cancer samples collection and annotation, cervical cancer datasets usually exhibit a long-tailed data distribution. When training a detector to detect the cancer cells in a WSI (Whole Slice Image) image captured from the TCT (Thinprep Cytology Test) specimen, head categories (e.g. normal cells and inflammatory cells) typically have a much larger number of samples than tail categories (e.g. cancer cells). Most existing state-of-the-art long-tailed learning methods in object detection focus on category distribution statistics to solve the problem in the long-tailed scenario without considering the "hardness" of each sample. To address this problem, in this work we propose a Grad-Libra Loss that leverages the gradients to dynamically calibrate the degree of hardness of each sample for different categories, and re-balance the gradients of positive and negative samples. Our loss can thus help the detector to put more emphasis on those hard samples in both head and tail categories. Extensive experiments on a long-tailed TCT WSI image dataset show that the mainstream detectors, e.g. RepPoints, FCOS, ATSS, YOLOF, etc. trained using our proposed Gradient-Libra Loss, achieved much higher (7.8%) mAP than that trained using cross-entropy classification loss.

Generative AI for Autonomous Driving: Frontiers and OpportunitiesYuping Wang, Shuo Xing, Cui Can et al.
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) constitutes a transformative technological wave that reconfigures industries through its unparalleled capabilities for content creation, reasoning, planning, and multimodal understanding. This revolutionary force offers the most promising path yet toward solving one of engineering's grandest challenges: achieving reliable, fully autonomous driving, particularly the pursuit of Level 5 autonomy. This survey delivers a comprehensive and critical synthesis of the emerging role of GenAI across the autonomous driving stack. We begin by distilling the principles and trade-offs of modern generative modeling, encompassing VAEs, GANs, Diffusion Models, and Large Language Models (LLMs). We then map their frontier applications in image, LiDAR, trajectory, occupancy, video generation as well as LLM-guided reasoning and decision making. We categorize practical applications, such as synthetic data workflows, end-to-end driving strategies, high-fidelity digital twin systems, smart transportation networks, and cross-domain transfer to embodied AI. We identify key obstacles and possibilities such as comprehensive generalization across rare cases, evaluation and safety checks, budget-limited implementation, regulatory compliance, ethical concerns, and environmental effects, while proposing research plans across theoretical assurances, trust metrics, transport integration, and socio-technical influence. By unifying these threads, the survey provides a forward-looking reference for researchers, engineers, and policymakers navigating the convergence of generative AI and advanced autonomous mobility. AutoTrust: Benchmarking Trustworthiness in Large Vision Language Models for Autonomous DrivingShuo Xing, Hongyuan Hua, Xiangbo Gao et al.
Recent advancements in large vision language models (VLMs) tailored for autonomous driving (AD) have shown strong scene understanding and reasoning capabilities, making them undeniable candidates for end-to-end driving systems. However, limited work exists on studying the trustworthiness of DriveVLMs -- a critical factor that directly impacts public transportation safety. In this paper, we introduce AutoTrust, a comprehensive trustworthiness benchmark for large vision-language models in autonomous driving (DriveVLMs), considering diverse perspectives -- including trustfulness, safety, robustness, privacy, and fairness. We constructed the largest visual question-answering dataset for investigating trustworthiness issues in driving scenarios, comprising over 10k unique scenes and 18k queries. We evaluated six publicly available VLMs, spanning from generalist to specialist, from open-source to commercial models. Our exhaustive evaluations have unveiled previously undiscovered vulnerabilities of DriveVLMs to trustworthiness threats. Specifically, we found that the general VLMs like LLaVA-v1.6 and GPT-4o-mini surprisingly outperform specialized models fine-tuned for driving in terms of overall trustworthiness. DriveVLMs like DriveLM-Agent are particularly vulnerable to disclosing sensitive information. Additionally, both generalist and specialist VLMs remain susceptible to adversarial attacks and struggle to ensure unbiased decision-making across diverse environments and populations. Our findings call for immediate and decisive action to address the trustworthiness of DriveVLMs -- an issue of critical importance to public safety and the welfare of all citizens relying on autonomous transportation systems. STAMP: Scalable Task And Model-agnostic Collaborative PerceptionXiangbo Gao, Runsheng Xu, Jiachen Li et al.
Perception is crucial for autonomous driving, but single-agent perception is often constrained by sensors' physical limitations, leading to degraded performance under severe occlusion, adverse weather conditions, and when detecting distant objects. Multi-agent collaborative perception offers a solution, yet challenges arise when integrating heterogeneous agents with varying model architectures. To address these challenges, we propose STAMP, a scalable task- and model-agnostic, collaborative perception pipeline for heterogeneous agents. STAMP utilizes lightweight adapter-reverter pairs to transform Bird's Eye View (BEV) features between agent-specific and shared protocol domains, enabling efficient feature sharing and fusion. This approach minimizes computational overhead, enhances scalability, and preserves model security. Experiments on simulated and real-world datasets demonstrate STAMP's comparable or superior accuracy to state-of-the-art models with significantly reduced computational costs. As a first-of-its-kind task- and model-agnostic framework, STAMP aims to advance research in scalable and secure mobility systems towards Level 5 autonomy. The Pulse of Motion: Measuring Physical Frame Rate from Visual DynamicsXiangbo Gao, Mingyang Wu, Siyuan Yang et al.
While recent generative video models have achieved remarkable visual realism and are being explored as world models, true physical simulation requires mastering both space and time. Current models can produce visually smooth kinematics, yet they lack a reliable internal motion pulse to ground these motions in a consistent, real-world time scale. This temporal ambiguity stems from the common practice of indiscriminately training on videos with vastly different real-world speeds, forcing them into standardized frame rates. This leads to what we term chronometric hallucination: generated sequences exhibit ambiguous, unstable, and uncontrollable physical motion speeds. To address this, we propose Visual Chronometer, a predictor that recovers the Physical Frames Per Second (PhyFPS) directly from the visual dynamics of an input video. Trained via controlled temporal resampling, our method estimates the true temporal scale implied by the motion itself, bypassing unreliable metadata. To systematically quantify this issue, we establish two benchmarks, PhyFPS-Bench-Real and PhyFPS-Bench-Gen. Our evaluations reveal a harsh reality: state-of-the-art video generators suffer from severe PhyFPS misalignment and temporal instability. Finally, we demonstrate that applying PhyFPS corrections significantly improves the human-perceived naturalness of AI-generated videos. V2X-UniPool: Unifying Multimodal Perception and Knowledge Reasoning for Autonomous DrivingXuewen Luo, Fengze Yang, Fan Ding et al.
Autonomous driving (AD) has achieved significant progress, yet single-vehicle perception remains constrained by sensing range and occlusions. Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication addresses these limits by enabling collaboration across vehicles and infrastructure, but it also faces heterogeneity, synchronization, and latency constraints. Language models offer strong knowledge-driven reasoning and decision-making capabilities, but they are not inherently designed to process raw sensor streams and are prone to hallucination. We propose V2X-UniPool, the first framework that unifies V2X perception with language-based reasoning for knowledge-driven AD. It transforms multimodal V2X data into structured, language-based knowledge, organizes it in a time-indexed knowledge pool for temporally consistent reasoning, and employs Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to ground decisions in real-time context. Experiments on the real-world DAIR-V2X dataset show that V2X-UniPool achieves state-of-the-art planning accuracy and safety while reducing communication cost by more than 80\%, achieving the lowest overhead among evaluated methods. AirV2X: Unified Air-Ground Vehicle-to-Everything CollaborationXiangbo Gao, Yuheng Wu, Fengze Yang et al.
While multi-vehicular collaborative driving demonstrates clear advantages over single-vehicle autonomy, traditional infrastructure-based V2X systems remain constrained by substantial deployment costs and the creation of "uncovered danger zones" in rural and suburban areas. We present AirV2X-Perception, a large-scale dataset that leverages Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as a flexible alternative or complement to fixed Road-Side Units (RSUs). Drones offer unique advantages over ground-based perception: complementary bird's-eye-views that reduce occlusions, dynamic positioning capabilities that enable hovering, patrolling, and escorting navigation rules, and significantly lower deployment costs compared to fixed infrastructure. Our dataset comprises 6.73 hours of drone-assisted driving scenarios across urban, suburban, and rural environments with varied weather and lighting conditions. The AirV2X-Perception dataset facilitates the development and standardized evaluation of Vehicle-to-Drone (V2D) algorithms, addressing a critical gap in the rapidly expanding field of aerial-assisted autonomous driving systems. SparkVSR: Interactive Video Super-Resolution via Sparse Keyframe PropagationJiongze Yu, Xiangbo Gao, Pooja Verlani et al.
Video Super-Resolution (VSR) aims to restore high-quality video frames from low-resolution (LR) estimates, yet most existing VSR approaches behave like black boxes at inference time: users cannot reliably correct unexpected artifacts, but instead can only accept whatever the model produces. In this paper, we propose a novel interactive VSR framework dubbed SparkVSR that makes sparse keyframes a simple and expressive control signal. Specifically, users can first super-resolve or optionally a small set of keyframes using any off-the-shelf image super-resolution (ISR) model, then SparkVSR propagates the keyframe priors to the entire video sequence while remaining grounded by the original LR video motion. Concretely, we introduce a keyframe-conditioned latent-pixel two-stage training pipeline that fuses LR video latents with sparsely encoded HR keyframe latents to learn robust cross-space propagation and refine perceptual details. At inference time, SparkVSR supports flexible keyframe selection (manual specification, codec I-frame extraction, or random sampling) and a reference-free guidance mechanism that continuously balances keyframe adherence and blind restoration, ensuring robust performance even when reference keyframes are absent or imperfect. Experiments on multiple VSR benchmarks demonstrate improved temporal consistency and strong restoration quality, surpassing baselines by up to 24.6%, 21.8%, and 5.6% on CLIP-IQA, DOVER, and MUSIQ, respectively, enabling controllable, keyframe-driven video super-resolution. Moreover, we demonstrate that SparkVSR is a generic interactive, keyframe-conditioned video processing framework as it can be applied out of the box to unseen tasks such as old-film restoration and video style transfer. PISCO: Precise Video Instance Insertion with Sparse ControlXiangbo Gao, Renjie Li, Xinghao Chen et al.
The landscape of AI video generation is undergoing a pivotal shift: moving beyond general generation - which relies on exhaustive prompt-engineering and "cherry-picking" - towards fine-grained, controllable generation and high-fidelity post-processing. In professional AI-assisted filmmaking, it is crucial to perform precise, targeted modifications. A cornerstone of this transition is video instance insertion, which requires inserting a specific instance into existing footage while maintaining scene integrity. Unlike traditional video editing, this task demands several requirements: precise spatial-temporal placement, physically consistent scene interaction, and the faithful preservation of original dynamics - all achieved under minimal user effort. In this paper, we propose PISCO, a video diffusion model for precise video instance insertion with arbitrary sparse keyframe control. PISCO allows users to specify a single keyframe, start-and-end keyframes, or sparse keyframes at arbitrary timestamps, and automatically propagates object appearance, motion, and interaction. To address the severe distribution shift induced by sparse conditioning in pretrained video diffusion models, we introduce Variable-Information Guidance for robust conditioning and Distribution-Preserving Temporal Masking to stabilize temporal generation, together with geometry-aware conditioning for realistic scene adaptation. We further construct PISCO-Bench, a benchmark with verified instance annotations and paired clean background videos, and evaluate performance using both reference-based and reference-free perceptual metrics. Experiments demonstrate that PISCO consistently outperforms strong inpainting and video editing baselines under sparse control, and exhibits clear, monotonic performance improvements as additional control signals are provided. Delta Forcing: Trust Region Steering for Interactive Autoregressive Video GenerationYuheng Wu, Xiangbo Gao, Tianhao Chen et al.
Interactive real-time autoregressive video generation is essential for applications such as content creation and world modeling, where visual content must adapt to dynamically evolving event conditions. A fundamental challenge lies in balancing reactivity and stability: models must respond promptly to new events while maintaining temporal coherence over long horizons. Existing approaches distill bidirectional models into autoregressive generators and further adapt them via streaming long tuning, yet often exhibit persistent drift after condition changes. We identify the cause as conditional bias, where the teacher may provide condition-aligned but trajectory-agnostic guidance, biasing generation toward locally valid yet globally inconsistent modes. Inspired by Trust Region Policy Optimization, we propose Delta Forcing, a simple yet effective framework that constrains unreliable teacher supervision within an adaptive trust region. Specifically, Delta Forcing estimates transition consistency from the latent delta between teacher and generator trajectories, and uses it to balance teacher supervision with a monotonic continuity objective. This suppress unreliable teacher-induced shifts while preserving responsiveness to new events. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Delta Forcing significantly improves consistency while maintaining event reactivity.

LangCoop: Collaborative Driving with LanguageXiangbo Gao, Yuheng Wu, Rujia Wang et al.
Multi-agent collaboration holds great promise for enhancing the safety, reliability, and mobility of autonomous driving systems by enabling information sharing among multiple connected agents. However, existing multi-agent communication approaches are hindered by limitations of existing communication media, including high bandwidth demands, agent heterogeneity, and information loss. To address these challenges, we introduce LangCoop, a new paradigm for collaborative autonomous driving that leverages natural language as a compact yet expressive medium for inter-agent communication. LangCoop features two key innovations: Mixture Model Modular Chain-of-thought (M$^3$CoT) for structured zero-shot vision-language reasoning and Natural Language Information Packaging (LangPack) for efficiently packaging information into concise, language-based messages. Through extensive experiments conducted in the CARLA simulations, we demonstrate that LangCoop achieves a remarkable 96\% reduction in communication bandwidth (< 2KB per message) compared to image-based communication, while maintaining competitive driving performance in the closed-loop evaluation. CoCMT: Communication-Efficient Cross-Modal Transformer for Collaborative PerceptionRujia Wang, Xiangbo Gao, Hao Xiang et al.
Multi-agent collaborative perception enhances each agent perceptual capabilities by sharing sensing information to cooperatively perform robot perception tasks. This approach has proven effective in addressing challenges such as sensor deficiencies, occlusions, and long-range perception. However, existing representative collaborative perception systems transmit intermediate feature maps, such as bird-eye view (BEV) representations, which contain a significant amount of non-critical information, leading to high communication bandwidth requirements. To enhance communication efficiency while preserving perception capability, we introduce CoCMT, an object-query-based collaboration framework that optimizes communication bandwidth by selectively extracting and transmitting essential features. Within CoCMT, we introduce the Efficient Query Transformer (EQFormer) to effectively fuse multi-agent object queries and implement a synergistic deep supervision to enhance the positive reinforcement between stages, leading to improved overall performance. Experiments on OPV2V and V2V4Real datasets show CoCMT outperforms state-of-the-art methods while drastically reducing communication needs. On V2V4Real, our model (Top-50 object queries) requires only 0.416 Mb bandwidth, 83 times less than SOTA methods, while improving AP70 by 1.1 percent. This efficiency breakthrough enables practical collaborative perception deployment in bandwidth-constrained environments without sacrificing detection accuracy.

Simulating the Unseen: Crash Prediction Must Learn from What Did Not HappenZihao Li, Xinyuan Cao, Xiangbo Gao et al.
Traffic safety science has long been hindered by a fundamental data paradox: the crashes we most wish to prevent are precisely those events we rarely observe. Existing crash-frequency models and surrogate safety metrics rely heavily on sparse, noisy, and under-reported records, while even sophisticated, high-fidelity simulations undersample the long-tailed situations that trigger catastrophic outcomes such as fatalities. We argue that the path to achieving Vision Zero, i.e., the complete elimination of traffic fatalities and severe injuries, requires a paradigm shift from traditional crash-only learning to a new form of counterfactual safety learning: reasoning not only about what happened, but also about the vast set of plausible yet perilous scenarios that could have happened under slightly different circumstances. To operationalize this shift, our proposed agenda bridges macro to micro. Guided by crash-rate priors, generative scene engines, diverse driver models, and causal learning, near-miss events are synthesized and explained. A crash-focused digital twin testbed links micro scenes to macro patterns, while a multi-objective validator ensures that simulations maintain statistical realism. This pipeline transforms sparse crash data into rich signals for crash prediction, enabling the stress-testing of vehicles, roads, and policies before deployment. By learning from crashes that almost happened, we can shift traffic safety from reactive forensics to proactive prevention, advancing Vision Zero.

Automated Vehicles Should be Connected with Natural LanguageXiangbo Gao, Keshu Wu, Hao Zhang et al.
Multi-agent collaborative driving promises improvements in traffic safety and efficiency through collective perception and decision making. However, existing communication media -- including raw sensor data, neural network features, and perception results -- suffer limitations in bandwidth efficiency, information completeness, and agent interoperability. Moreover, traditional approaches have largely ignored decision-level fusion, neglecting critical dimensions of collaborative driving. In this paper we argue that addressing these challenges requires a transition from purely perception-oriented data exchanges to explicit intent and reasoning communication using natural language. Natural language balances semantic density and communication bandwidth, adapts flexibly to real-time conditions, and bridges heterogeneous agent platforms. By enabling the direct communication of intentions, rationales, and decisions, it transforms collaborative driving from reactive perception-data sharing into proactive coordination, advancing safety, efficiency, and transparency in intelligent transportation systems.

Despite advancements in text-guided editing, current benchmarks primarily assess visual plausibility, often overlooking the physical causalities, such as lingering shadows, triggered by object removal. We introduce the Physics-Aware Video Instance Removal (PVIR) benchmark, featuring 95 high-quality videos annotated with instance-accurate masks and removal prompts. PVIR is partitioned into Simple and Hard subsets, the latter explicitly targeting complex physical interactions. We evaluate four representative methods, PISCO-Removal, UniVideo, DiffuEraser, and CoCoCo, using a decoupled human evaluation protocol across three dimensions to isolate semantic, visual, and spatial failures: instruction following, rendering quality, and edit exclusivity. Our results show that PISCO-Removal and UniVideo achieve state-of-the-art performance, while DiffuEraser frequently introduces blurring artifacts and CoCoCo struggles significantly with instruction following. The persistent performance drop on the Hard subset highlights the ongoing challenge of recovering complex physical side effects.

DRAMA-X: A Fine-grained Intent Prediction and Risk Reasoning Benchmark For DrivingMihir Godbole, Xiangbo Gao, Zhengzhong Tu
Understanding the short-term motion of vulnerable road users (VRUs) like pedestrians and cyclists is critical for safe autonomous driving, especially in urban scenarios with ambiguous or high-risk behaviors. While vision-language models (VLMs) have enabled open-vocabulary perception, their utility for fine-grained intent reasoning remains underexplored. Notably, no existing benchmark evaluates multi-class intent prediction in safety-critical situations, To address this gap, we introduce DRAMA-X, a fine-grained benchmark constructed from the DRAMA dataset via an automated annotation pipeline. DRAMA-X contains 5,686 accident-prone frames labeled with object bounding boxes, a nine-class directional intent taxonomy, binary risk scores, expert-generated action suggestions for the ego vehicle, and descriptive motion summaries. These annotations enable a structured evaluation of four interrelated tasks central to autonomous decision-making: object detection, intent prediction, risk assessment, and action suggestion. As a reference baseline, we propose SGG-Intent, a lightweight, training-free framework that mirrors the ego vehicle's reasoning pipeline. It sequentially generates a scene graph from visual input using VLM-backed detectors, infers intent, assesses risk, and recommends an action using a compositional reasoning stage powered by a large language model. We evaluate a range of recent VLMs, comparing performance across all four DRAMA-X tasks. Our experiments demonstrate that scene-graph-based reasoning enhances intent prediction and risk assessment, especially when contextual cues are explicitly modeled.

TimePre: Bridging Accuracy, Efficiency, and Stability in Probabilistic Time-Series ForecastingLingyu Jiang, Lingyu Xu, Peiran Li et al.
Probabilistic Time-Series Forecasting (PTSF) is critical for uncertainty-aware decision making, but existing generative models, such as diffusion-based approaches, are computationally prohibitive due to expensive iterative sampling. Non-sampling frameworks like Multiple Choice Learning (MCL) offer an efficient alternative, but suffer from severe training instability and hypothesis collapse, which has historically hindered their performance. This problem is dramatically exacerbated when attempting to combine them with modern, efficient MLP-based backbones. To resolve this fundamental incompatibility, we propose TimePre, a novel framework that successfully unifies the efficiency of MLP-based models with the distributional flexibility of the MCL paradigm. The core of our solution is Stabilized Instance Normalization (SIN), a novel normalization layer that explicitly remedies this incompatibility. SIN stabilizes the hybrid architecture by correcting channel-wise statistical shifts, definitively resolving the catastrophic hypothesis collapse. Extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets demonstrate that TimePre achieves new state-of-the-art accuracy on key probabilistic metrics. Critically, TimePre achieves inference speeds orders of magnitude faster than sampling-based models and, unlike prior MCL work, demonstrates stable performance scaling. It thus bridges the long-standing gap between accuracy, efficiency, and stability in probabilistic forecasting.

Background Fades, Foreground Leads: Curriculum-Guided Background Pruning for Efficient Foreground-Centric Collaborative PerceptionYuheng Wu, Xiangbo Gao, Quang Tau et al.
Collaborative perception enhances the reliability and spatial coverage of autonomous vehicles by sharing complementary information across vehicles, offering a promising solution to long-tail scenarios that challenge single-vehicle perception. However, the bandwidth constraints of vehicular networks make transmitting the entire feature map impractical. Recent methods, therefore, adopt a foreground-centric paradigm, transmitting only predicted foreground-region features while discarding the background, which encodes essential context. We propose FadeLead, a foreground-centric framework that overcomes this limitation by learning to encapsulate background context into compact foreground features during training. At the core of our design is a curricular learning strategy that leverages background cues early on but progressively prunes them away, forcing the model to internalize context into foreground representations without transmitting background itself. Extensive experiments on both simulated and real-world benchmarks show that FadeLead outperforms prior methods under different bandwidth settings, underscoring the effectiveness of context-enriched foreground sharing.

SafeCoop: Unravelling Full Stack Safety in Agentic Collaborative DrivingXiangbo Gao, Tzu-Hsiang Lin, Ruojing Song et al.
Collaborative driving systems leverage vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication across multiple agents to enhance driving safety and efficiency. Traditional V2X systems take raw sensor data, neural features, or perception results as communication media, which face persistent challenges, including high bandwidth demands, semantic loss, and interoperability issues. Recent advances investigate natural language as a promising medium, which can provide semantic richness, decision-level reasoning, and human-machine interoperability at significantly lower bandwidth. Despite great promise, this paradigm shift also introduces new vulnerabilities within language communication, including message loss, hallucinations, semantic manipulation, and adversarial attacks. In this work, we present the first systematic study of full-stack safety and security issues in natural-language-based collaborative driving. Specifically, we develop a comprehensive taxonomy of attack strategies, including connection disruption, relay/replay interference, content spoofing, and multi-connection forgery. To mitigate these risks, we introduce an agentic defense pipeline, which we call SafeCoop, that integrates a semantic firewall, language-perception consistency checks, and multi-source consensus, enabled by an agentic transformation function for cross-frame spatial alignment. We systematically evaluate SafeCoop in closed-loop CARLA simulation across 32 critical scenarios, achieving 69.15% driving score improvement under malicious attacks and up to 67.32% F1 score for malicious detection. This study provides guidance for advancing research on safe, secure, and trustworthy language-driven collaboration in transportation systems.
