Asca: less audio data is more insightfulXiang Li, Junhao Chen, Chao Li et al.
Audio recognition in specialized areas such as birdsong and submarine acoustics faces challenges in large-scale pre-training due to the limitations in available samples imposed by sampling environments and specificity requirements. While the Transformer model excels in audio recognition, its dependence on vast amounts of data becomes restrictive in resource-limited settings. Addressing this, we introduce the Audio Spectrogram Convolution Attention (ASCA) based on CoAtNet, integrating a Transformer-convolution hybrid architecture, novel network design, and attention techniques, further augmented with data enhancement and regularization strategies. On the BirdCLEF2023 and AudioSet(Balanced), ASCA achieved accuracies of 81.2% and 35.1%, respectively, significantly outperforming competing methods. The unique structure of our model enriches output, enabling generalization across various audio detection tasks. Our code can be found at https://github.com/LeeCiang/ASCA.

Achieving Fine-grained Cross-modal Understanding through Brain-inspired Hierarchical Representation LearningWeihang You, Hanqi Jiang, Yi Pan et al.
Understanding neural responses to visual stimuli remains challenging due to the inherent complexity of brain representations and the modality gap between neural data and visual inputs. Existing methods, mainly based on reducing neural decoding to generation tasks or simple correlations, fail to reflect the hierarchical and temporal processes of visual processing in the brain. To address these limitations, we present NeuroAlign, a novel framework for fine-grained fMRI-video alignment inspired by the hierarchical organization of the human visual system. Our framework implements a two-stage mechanism that mirrors biological visual pathways: global semantic understanding through Neural-Temporal Contrastive Learning (NTCL) and fine-grained pattern matching through enhanced vector quantization. NTCL explicitly models temporal dynamics through bidirectional prediction between modalities, while our DynaSyncMM-EMA approach enables dynamic multi-modal fusion with adaptive weighting. Experiments demonstrate that NeuroAlign significantly outperforms existing methods in cross-modal retrieval tasks, establishing a new paradigm for understanding visual cognitive mechanisms.

Video Signature: Implicit Watermarking for Video Diffusion ModelsYu Huang, Junhao Chen, Shuliang Liu et al. · tsinghua
The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) has led to significant progress in video generation, but also raises serious concerns about intellectual property protection and reliable content tracing. Watermarking is a widely adopted solution to this issue, yet existing methods for video generation mainly follow a post-generation paradigm, which often fails to effectively balance the trade-off between video quality and watermark extraction. Meanwhile, current in-generation methods that embed the watermark into the initial Gaussian noise usually incur substantial additional computation. To address these issues, we propose \textbf{Video Signature} (\textsc{VidSig}), an implicit watermarking method for video diffusion models that enables imperceptible and adaptive watermark integration during video generation with almost no extra latency. Specifically, we partially fine-tune the latent decoder, where \textbf{Perturbation-Aware Suppression} (PAS) pre-identifies and freezes perceptually sensitive layers to preserve visual quality. Beyond spatial fidelity, we further enhance temporal consistency by introducing a lightweight \textbf{Temporal Alignment} module that guides the decoder to generate coherent frame sequences during fine-tuning. Experimental results show that \textsc{VidSig} achieves the best trade-off among watermark extraction accuracy, video quality, and watermark latency. It also demonstrates strong robustness against both spatial and temporal tamper, and remains stable across different video lengths and resolutions, highlighting its practicality in real-world scenarios.
