Commonsense Knowledge Salience Evaluation with a Benchmark Dataset in E-commerce

Yincen Qu, Ningyu Zhang, Hui Chen et al.

In e-commerce, the salience of commonsense knowledge (CSK) is beneficial for widespread applications such as product search and recommendation. For example, when users search for ``running'' in e-commerce, they would like to find products highly related to running, such as ``running shoes'' rather than ``shoes''. Nevertheless, many existing CSK collections rank statements solely by confidence scores, and there is no information about which ones are salient from a human perspective. In this work, we define the task of supervised salience evaluation, where given a CSK triple, the model is required to learn whether the triple is salient or not. In addition to formulating the new task, we also release a new Benchmark dataset of Salience Evaluation in E-commerce (BSEE) and hope to promote related research on commonsense knowledge salience evaluation. We conduct experiments in the dataset with several representative baseline models. The experimental results show that salience evaluation is a challenging task where models perform poorly on our evaluation set. We further propose a simple but effective approach, PMI-tuning, which shows promise for solving this novel problem. Code is available in \url{https://github.com/OpenBGBenchmark/OpenBG-CSK.

Residual Channel Boosts Contrastive Learning for Radio Frequency Fingerprint Identification

Rui Pan, Hui Chen, Guanxiong Shen et al.

In order to address the issue of limited data samples for the deployment of pre-trained models in unseen environments, this paper proposes a residual channel-based data augmentation strategy for Radio Frequency Fingerprint Identification (RFFI), coupled with a lightweight SimSiam contrastive learning framework. By applying least square (LS) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) channel estimations followed by equalization, signals with different residual channel effects are generated. These residual channels enable the model to learn more effective representations. Then the pre-trained model is fine-tuned with 1% samples in a novel environment for RFFI. Experimental results demonstrate that our method significantly enhances both feature extraction ability and generalization while requiring fewer samples and less time, making it suitable for practical wireless security applications.

Geometry-Contrastive GAN for Facial Expression Transfer

Fengchun Qiao, Naiming Yao, Zirui Jiao et al.

In this paper, we propose a Geometry-Contrastive Generative Adversarial Network (GC-GAN) for transferring continuous emotions across different subjects. Given an input face with certain emotion and a target facial expression from another subject, GC-GAN can generate an identity-preserving face with the target expression. Geometry information is introduced into cGANs as continuous conditions to guide the generation of facial expressions. In order to handle the misalignment across different subjects or emotions, contrastive learning is used to transform geometry manifold into an embedded semantic manifold of facial expressions. Therefore, the embedded geometry is injected into the latent space of GANs and control the emotion generation effectively. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method can be applied in facial expression transfer even there exist big differences in facial shapes and expressions between different subjects.
