LoGoNet: Towards Accurate 3D Object Detection with Local-to-Global Cross-Modal Fusion

LiDAR-camera fusion methods have shown impressive performance in 3D object detection. Recent advanced multi-modal methods mainly perform global fusion, where image features and point cloud features are fused across the whole scene. Such practice lacks fine-grained region-level information, yielding suboptimal fusion performance. In this paper, we present the novel Local-to-Global fusion network (LoGoNet), which performs LiDAR-camera fusion at both local and global levels. Concretely, the Global Fusion (GoF) of LoGoNet is built upon previous literature, while we exclusively use point centroids to more precisely represent the position of voxel features, thus achieving better cross-modal alignment. As to the Local Fusion (LoF), we first divide each proposal into uniform grids and then project these grid centers to the images. The image features around the projected grid points are sampled to be fused with position-decorated point cloud features, maximally utilizing the rich contextual information around the proposals. The Feature Dynamic Aggregation (FDA) module is further proposed to achieve information interaction between these locally and globally fused features, thus producing more informative multi-modal features. Extensive experiments on both Waymo Open Dataset (WOD) and KITTI datasets show that LoGoNet outperforms all state-of-the-art 3D detection methods. Notably, LoGoNet ranks 1st on Waymo 3D object detection leaderboard and obtains 81.02 mAPH (L2) detection performance. It is noteworthy that, for the first time, the detection performance on three classes surpasses 80 APH (L2) simultaneously. Code will be available at \url{https://github.com/sankin97/LoGoNet}.

TRACE: Task-Aware Adaptive Self-Evolving Agentic Jailbreaking

The rise of LLM agents introduces a new threat by enabling planning, coding, and even end-to-end execution of expert-level attack workflows. However, this threat remains underexplored and underestimated since (i) safety alignment prevents LLMs from directly generating harmful instructions, and (ii) most existing jailbreak methods cannot consistently induce agents to execute malicious operations. In this paper, we propose TRACE, a practical agentic jailbreaking framework to further reveal the risks of this threat surface. To conceal the malicious intent, TRACE decomposes a malicious task into multiple subtask sequences under different schemes and selects the sequence with the fewest explicitly harmful subtasks. TRACE then disguises the remaining harmful subtasks as benign-looking instructions by embedding them in task-aware scenarios with related roles, environments, directives, and heuristics. The scenarios are iteratively evolved through well-defined transformation actions, which are sampled by a Q-learning-inspired mechanism, for inducing the agent to execute on the harmful subtasks. Extensive evaluations on AgentHarm and AdvCUA show that TRACE consistently outperforms existing jailbreak baselines across multiple advanced LLM agents, achieving up to 100% bypass rate and 0.73 average success score. MLEvolve: A Self-Evolving Framework for Automated Machine Learning Algorithm Discovery

Large language model (LLM) agents are increasingly applied to long-horizon tasks such as scientific discovery and machine learning engineering (MLE), where sustained self-evolution becomes a key capability. However, existing MLE agents suffer from inter-branch information isolation, memoryless search, and lack of hierarchical control, which together hinder long-horizon optimization. We present MLEvolve, an LLM-based self-evolving multi-agent framework for end-to-end machine learning algorithm discovery. By extending tree search to Progressive MCGS, MLEvolve enables cross-branch information flow through graph-based reference edges and gradually shifts the search from broad exploration to focused exploitation with an entropy-inspired progressive schedule. To allow the agent to evolve with accumulated experience, we introduce Retrospective Memory, which combines a cold-start domain knowledge base with a dynamic global memory for task-specific experience retrieval and reuse. For stable long-horizon iteration, we further decouple strategic planning from code generation with adaptive coding modes. Evaluation on MLE-Bench shows that MLEvolve achieves state-of-the-art performance across multiple dimensions including average medal rate and valid submission rate under a 12-hour budget (half the standard runtime). Moreover, MLEvolve also outperforms specialized algorithm discovery methods including AlphaEvolve on mathematical algorithm optimization tasks, demonstrating strong cross-domain generalization. MemPro: Agentic Memory Systems as Evolvable Programs

Long-horizon autonomous agents require memory systems to retain historical information, track evolving states, and reuse relevant knowledge beyond finite context windows. Existing agentic memory systems typically follow a memory construction-retrieval (MCR) pipeline, but often adapt mainly the memory bank while keeping the surrounding pipeline fixed after deployment. This fixed-pipeline design struggles to handle heterogeneous task-specific failure modes and can become misaligned with memory banks that evolve in scale and structure over time. To address these limitations, we propose MemPro, a system-level evolution framework that treats the entire MCR pipeline as an evolvable program rather than adapting only the memory bank or prompt text. MemPro maintains a version tree of runnable memory-system implementations, where an Evolving Agent iteratively selects promising versions, diagnoses recurring failures, and creates improved child versions through failure-mode-guided edit-debug refinement. Experiments on LongMemEval, LoCoMo, HotpotQA, and NarrativeQA show that MemPro consistently outperforms strong static and prompt-level evolving baselines within a few iterations, continues to improve with evolution, and achieves a favorable performance-cost trade-off. DiLu: A Knowledge-Driven Approach to Autonomous Driving with Large Language Models

Recent advancements in autonomous driving have relied on data-driven approaches, which are widely adopted but face challenges including dataset bias, overfitting, and uninterpretability. Drawing inspiration from the knowledge-driven nature of human driving, we explore the question of how to instill similar capabilities into autonomous driving systems and summarize a paradigm that integrates an interactive environment, a driver agent, as well as a memory component to address this question. Leveraging large language models (LLMs) with emergent abilities, we propose the DiLu framework, which combines a Reasoning and a Reflection module to enable the system to perform decision-making based on common-sense knowledge and evolve continuously. Extensive experiments prove DiLu's capability to accumulate experience and demonstrate a significant advantage in generalization ability over reinforcement learning-based methods. Moreover, DiLu is able to directly acquire experiences from real-world datasets which highlights its potential to be deployed on practical autonomous driving systems. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to leverage knowledge-driven capability in decision-making for autonomous vehicles. Through the proposed DiLu framework, LLM is strengthened to apply knowledge and to reason causally in the autonomous driving domain. Project page: https://pjlab-adg.github.io/DiLu/

DetZero: Rethinking Offboard 3D Object Detection with Long-term Sequential Point Clouds

Existing offboard 3D detectors always follow a modular pipeline design to take advantage of unlimited sequential point clouds. We have found that the full potential of offboard 3D detectors is not explored mainly due to two reasons: (1) the onboard multi-object tracker cannot generate sufficient complete object trajectories, and (2) the motion state of objects poses an inevitable challenge for the object-centric refining stage in leveraging the long-term temporal context representation. To tackle these problems, we propose a novel paradigm of offboard 3D object detection, named DetZero. Concretely, an offline tracker coupled with a multi-frame detector is proposed to focus on the completeness of generated object tracks. An attention-mechanism refining module is proposed to strengthen contextual information interaction across long-term sequential point clouds for object refining with decomposed regression methods. Extensive experiments on Waymo Open Dataset show our DetZero outperforms all state-of-the-art onboard and offboard 3D detection methods. Notably, DetZero ranks 1st place on Waymo 3D object detection leaderboard with 85.15 mAPH (L2) detection performance. Further experiments validate the application of taking the place of human labels with such high-quality results. Our empirical study leads to rethinking conventions and interesting findings that can guide future research on offboard 3D object detection.

Incorporating Pre-training Paradigm for Antibody Sequence-Structure Co-design

Antibodies are versatile proteins that can bind to pathogens and provide effective protection for human body. Recently, deep learning-based computational antibody design has attracted popular attention since it automatically mines the antibody patterns from data that could be complementary to human experiences. However, the computational methods heavily rely on high-quality antibody structure data, which is quite limited. Besides, the complementarity-determining region (CDR), which is the key component of an antibody that determines the specificity and binding affinity, is highly variable and hard to predict. Therefore, the data limitation issue further raises the difficulty of CDR generation for antibodies. Fortunately, there exists a large amount of sequence data of antibodies that can help model the CDR and alleviate the reliance on structure data. By witnessing the success of pre-training models for protein modeling, in this paper, we develop the antibody pre-training language model and incorporate it into the (antigen-specific) antibody design model in a systemic way. Specifically, we first pre-train an antibody language model based on the sequence data, then propose a one-shot way for sequence and structure generation of CDR to avoid the heavy cost and error propagation from an autoregressive manner, and finally leverage the pre-trained antibody model for the antigen-specific antibody generation model with some carefully designed modules. Through various experiments, we show that our method achieves superior performances over previous baselines on different tasks, such as sequence and structure generation and antigen-binding CDR-H3 design.

Bridging the 2D-3D Gap: A Hierarchical Semantic-Geometric Map for Vision Language Navigation

Vision-Language Navigation (VLN) enables embodied agents to reach target locations in unseen environments by following language instructions. Despite recent progress with vision-language models (VLMs), a critical semantic-geometric gap remains: while VLMs excel at language and 2D visual understanding, they struggle with 3D spatial reasoning and fail to capture the causal dynamics between actions and spatial transitions, resulting in unreliable navigation, particularly in zero-shot settings. To bridge this gap, we propose a Hierarchical Semantic-Geometric Map (HSGM) that transforms 3D geometric information into a structured representation compatible with VLMs, effectively linking them to the physical world. Specifically, HSGM is represented as a multi-channel top-down map organized into three levels: (1) geometric level that records navigable regions and obstacles, (2) semantic level that represents objects and their relations, and (3) decision level that supports high-level task reasoning and goal selection. During navigation, the VLM acts as a high-level semantic planner, interpreting the spatial layout encoded in the HSGM to select geometrically valid waypoints, while low-level, collision-free movements between waypoints are executed by a classical path-planning algorithm, fully decoupling semantic reasoning from action execution. Additionally, complex instructions are decomposed into subtasks to alleviate the problem of progress forgetting or hallucinating in long-horizon navigation. Extensive experiments on R2R-CE and RxR-CE benchmarks demonstrate that our zero-shot framework achieves state-of-the-art performance and even outperforms several supervised methods. PyraMathBench: Evaluating and Improving Mathematical Capability in Large Language Models

Despite the pivotal role of numerical reasoning as the cornerstone of mathematical capabilities in large language models (LLMs) across applications, few benchmarks evaluate LLMs by integrating numerical processing and mathematical reasoning, hindering the interpretability of failures in math tasks. We introduce PyraMathBench, a comprehensive hierarchical benchmark with 32,505 questions derived from 7,404 math word problems, spanning 4 key cognitive aspects, 14 subcategories, and 2 modalities. Experiments reveal that LLMs' performance is severely compromised by inadequate numerical computation and weak handling of abstract numerical questions. To address this, we propose the Smart Optimization & Learning-based VErsatile module (SOLVE) and Interactive Relative Policy Optimization (IRPO), which enhance LLMs' numerical-mathematical synergy via efficient tool calls (fuzzy matching and low-quality call rejection). Comparative experiments show Qwen-2.5 achieves a 5.0 score improvement with SOLVE and IRPO training.

EduChat: A Large-Scale Language Model-based Chatbot System for Intelligent Education

EduChat (https://www.educhat.top/) is a large-scale language model (LLM)-based chatbot system in the education domain. Its goal is to support personalized, fair, and compassionate intelligent education, serving teachers, students, and parents. Guided by theories from psychology and education, it further strengthens educational functions such as open question answering, essay assessment, Socratic teaching, and emotional support based on the existing basic LLMs. Particularly, we learn domain-specific knowledge by pre-training on the educational corpus and stimulate various skills with tool use by fine-tuning on designed system prompts and instructions. Currently, EduChat is available online as an open-source project, with its code, data, and model parameters available on platforms (e.g., GitHub https://github.com/icalk-nlp/EduChat, Hugging Face https://huggingface.co/ecnu-icalk ). We also prepare a demonstration of its capabilities online (https://vimeo.com/851004454). This initiative aims to promote research and applications of LLMs for intelligent education.

DriveArena: A Closed-loop Generative Simulation Platform for Autonomous Driving

This paper presented DriveArena, the first high-fidelity closed-loop simulation system designed for driving agents navigating in real scenarios. DriveArena features a flexible, modular architecture, allowing for the seamless interchange of its core components: Traffic Manager, a traffic simulator capable of generating realistic traffic flow on any worldwide street map, and World Dreamer, a high-fidelity conditional generative model with infinite autoregression. This powerful synergy empowers any driving agent capable of processing real-world images to navigate in DriveArena's simulated environment. The agent perceives its surroundings through images generated by World Dreamer and output trajectories. These trajectories are fed into Traffic Manager, achieving realistic interactions with other vehicles and producing a new scene layout. Finally, the latest scene layout is relayed back into World Dreamer, perpetuating the simulation cycle. This iterative process fosters closed-loop exploration within a highly realistic environment, providing a valuable platform for developing and evaluating driving agents across diverse and challenging scenarios. DriveArena signifies a substantial leap forward in leveraging generative image data for the driving simulation platform, opening insights for closed-loop autonomous driving. Not All Errors Are Equal: Consequence-Aware Reasoning Compute Allocation

Modern reasoning models can allocate different amounts of test-time computation, such as thinking tokens, model calls, or compute budget, to different tasks. Existing methods generally drive this allocation by predicted difficulty and spend more compute where it is expected to raise accuracy. This implicitly assumes that all failures cost the same, since an accuracy objective weights every task equally. However, such an assumption does not hold in deployment: A typo in a log message and a migration that corrupts a production database both count as one benchmark failure, but their real-world costs are fundamentally different. To fill this gap, we propose consequence-aware test-time compute allocation. Instead of routing compute only by predicted difficulty, we use a lightweight predictor to estimate from the issue text how costly a task would be if solved incorrectly. The scheduler then routes higher-consequence tasks to larger compute tiers or higher thinking budgets under the same total budget. We conduct main experiments on SWE-bench Lite and evaluate cross-dataset behavior on Multi-SWE-bench mini, covering 700 software-engineering tasks in total. Our results reveal that consequence and difficulty are approximately orthogonal under various annotations, and that current thinking models do not allocate compute sufficiently according to consequence. Moreover, our issue-only predictor never misclassifies a high-consequence task as low-consequence across the 300 SWE-bench tasks. Under matched compute budgets, our consequence-aware scheduler reduces cost-weighted loss by 22% to 33% relative to difficulty-aware routing; in particular, the priority-aware variant, which routes by per-task cost scaled by the marginal-utility signal, crosses 30%, and its deployable predictor-driven version retains over 90% of the oracle gain.

Learning While Acting: A Skill-Enhanced Test-Time Co-Evolution Framework for Online Lifelong Learning Agents

Lifelong learning is essential for Large Language Model (LLM) agents operating in dynamic, interactive environments. However, existing lifelong learning agents for long-horizon tasks typically depend on discrete skill or past experiences retrieval with static parameters during inference, which prevents them from continuously internalizing test-time feedback like human learners. To bridge this gap, we propose Skill-enhanced Test-Time Co-Evolution (\texttt{LifeSkill}), a two-stage reinforcement learning framework for Online Lifelong Learning Agents. Specifically, we design Verifier-Guided Skill Learning that addresses the lack of direct supervision for skill extraction by rewarding candidate skills according to the average verifier success of multiple skill-conditioned policy rollouts, encouraging the model to generate skills that are useful for solving tasks rather than merely plausible in text. Furthermore, we introduce Online Skill Internalization, which continuously improves the policy model during test-time interaction by transforming skill-conditioned trajectories into reward signals. This enables the agent to directly internalize reasoning capabilities into its parameters, avoiding the context bloat of experience retrieval. Experiments on LifelongAgentBench show that LifeSkill improves average performance by 7 absolute points by comparing with existing lifelong agent baselines.

Boosting Large Language Models with Socratic Method for Conversational Mathematics Teaching

With the introduction of large language models (LLMs), automatic math reasoning has seen tremendous success. However, current methods primarily focus on providing solutions or using techniques like Chain-of-Thought to enhance problem-solving accuracy. In this paper, we focus on improving the capability of mathematics teaching via a Socratic teaching-based LLM (\texttt{SocraticLLM}), which guides learners toward profound thinking with clarity and self-discovery via conversation. We collect and release a high-quality mathematical teaching dataset, named \texttt{SocraticMATH}, which provides Socratic-style conversations of problems with extra knowledge. Also, we propose a knowledge-enhanced LLM as a strong baseline to generate reliable responses with review, guidance/heuristic, rectification, and summarization. Experimental results show the great advantages of \texttt{SocraticLLM} by comparing it with several strong generative models. BudgetDraft: Acceptance-Aware Multi-View Training for Sparse-KV Speculative Decoding

Speculative decoding speeds up autoregressive decoding by using a drafter to propose multiple tokens that a verifier validates in parallel. In resource-constrained deployments, the drafter uses a sparse KV cache to limit peak GPU memory and end-to-end latency under a fixed KV budget, while the verifier keeps a full KV cache. Mid-to-long context inference (4K--16K context length) is common in real applications. However, naive sparse/full speculative decoding suffers from the sparse/full mismatch as context length grows, causing the acceptance rate to drop quickly. We propose BudgetDraft, a multi-view sparse training method for sparse drafting in mid-to-long inference. The drafter is exposed to multiple sampled KV budgets during training and learns to align each sparse view with one shared full-cache teacher target. BudgetDraft combines an acceptance-aware loss on a full-cache branch with a multi-view loss on a sparse-cache branch, producing a single budget-robust drafter that recovers acceptance across sparsity levels without extra inference-time components. Experimental results on PG-19, LongBench, and LWM show that BudgetDraft achieves up to 6.55x, 4.46x, and 2.10x end-to-end speedup vs AR at 4K, 8K, and 16K context lengths, while keeping the inference pipeline memory-friendly.

Eval-GCSC: A New Metric for Evaluating ChatGPT's Performance in Chinese Spelling Correction

ChatGPT has demonstrated impressive performance in various downstream tasks. However, in the Chinese Spelling Correction (CSC) task, we observe a discrepancy: while ChatGPT performs well under human evaluation, it scores poorly according to traditional metrics. We believe this inconsistency arises because the traditional metrics are not well-suited for evaluating generative models. Their overly strict length and phonics constraints may lead to underestimating ChatGPT's correction capabilities. To better evaluate generative models in the CSC task, this paper proposes a new evaluation metric: Eval-GCSC. By incorporating word-level and semantic similarity judgments, it relaxes the stringent length and phonics constraints. Experimental results show that Eval-GCSC closely aligns with human evaluations. Under this metric, ChatGPT's performance is comparable to traditional token-level classification models (TCM), demonstrating its potential as a CSC tool. Nex-N1: Agentic Models Trained via a Unified Ecosystem for Large-Scale Environment Construction

The evolution of Large Language Models (LLMs) from passive responders to autonomous agents necessitates a fundamental shift in learning paradigms -- from static imitation to incentive-driven decision making. However, this transition is significantly impeded by the lack of scalable infrastructure capable of constructing high-quality interaction signals for effective policy learning. To address this, we introduce a comprehensive method designed to systematically scale the diversity and complexity of interactive environments. Our method realizes this scaling by addressing three orthogonal dimensions: (1) Complexity: NexAU, a flexible agent framework that supports building complex agent hierarchies via simple configurations; (2) Diversity: NexA4A automatically generates diverse agent hierarchies from natural language to cover infinite domains; and (3) Fidelity: NexGAP bridges the simulation-reality gap by integrating dynamic real-world environment for grounded trajectories synthesis. We train Nex-N1 upon the diverse and complex interactive environments established by our infrastructure. Empirical results on benchmarks such as SWE-bench and tau2 demonstrate that Nex-N1 consistently outperforms SOTA open-source models and achieves competitive performance against frontier proprietary models on complex agentic tasks. We open-source the Nex ecosystem and model weights to facilitate further research.

Enhancing Event-Level Sentiment Analysis with Structured Arguments

Previous studies about event-level sentiment analysis (SA) usually model the event as a topic, a category or target terms, while the structured arguments (e.g., subject, object, time and location) that have potential effects on the sentiment are not well studied. In this paper, we redefine the task as structured event-level SA and propose an End-to-End Event-level Sentiment Analysis ($\textit{E}^{3}\textit{SA}$) approach to solve this issue. Specifically, we explicitly extract and model the event structure information for enhancing event-level SA. Extensive experiments demonstrate the great advantages of our proposed approach over the state-of-the-art methods. Noting the lack of the dataset, we also release a large-scale real-world dataset with event arguments and sentiment labelling for promoting more researches\footnote{The dataset is available at https://github.com/zhangqi-here/E3SA}.

A Multi-Format Transfer Learning Model for Event Argument Extraction via Variational Information Bottleneck

Event argument extraction (EAE) aims to extract arguments with given roles from texts, which have been widely studied in natural language processing. Most previous works have achieved good performance in specific EAE datasets with dedicated neural architectures. Whereas, these architectures are usually difficult to adapt to new datasets/scenarios with various annotation schemas or formats. Furthermore, they rely on large-scale labeled data for training, which is unavailable due to the high labelling cost in most cases. In this paper, we propose a multi-format transfer learning model with variational information bottleneck, which makes use of the information especially the common knowledge in existing datasets for EAE in new datasets. Specifically, we introduce a shared-specific prompt framework to learn both format-shared and format-specific knowledge from datasets with different formats. In order to further absorb the common knowledge for EAE and eliminate the irrelevant noise, we integrate variational information bottleneck into our architecture to refine the shared representation. We conduct extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets, and obtain new state-of-the-art performance on EAE.

Towards Better Chain-of-Thought Prompting Strategies: A Survey

Chain-of-Thought (CoT), a step-wise and coherent reasoning chain, shows its impressive strength when used as a prompting strategy for large language models (LLM). Recent years, the prominent effect of CoT prompting has attracted emerging research. However, there still lacks of a systematic summary about key factors of CoT prompting and comprehensive guide for prompts utilizing. For a deeper understanding about CoT prompting, we survey on a wide range of current research, presenting a systematic and comprehensive analysis on several factors that may influence the effect of CoT prompting, and introduce how to better apply it in different applications under these discussions. We further analyze the challenges and propose some future directions about CoT prompting. This survey could provide an overall reference on related research.

UReader: Universal OCR-free Visually-situated Language Understanding with Multimodal Large Language Model

Text is ubiquitous in our visual world, conveying crucial information, such as in documents, websites, and everyday photographs. In this work, we propose UReader, a first exploration of universal OCR-free visually-situated language understanding based on the Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM). By leveraging the shallow text recognition ability of the MLLM, we only finetuned 1.2% parameters and the training cost is much lower than previous work following domain-specific pretraining and finetuning paradigms. Concretely, UReader is jointly finetuned on a wide range of Visually-situated Language Understanding tasks via a unified instruction format. To enhance the visual text and semantic understanding, we further apply two auxiliary tasks with the same format, namely text reading and key points generation tasks. We design a shape-adaptive cropping module before the encoder-decoder architecture of MLLM to leverage the frozen low-resolution vision encoder for processing high-resolution images. Without downstream finetuning, our single model achieves state-of-the-art ocr-free performance in 8 out of 10 visually-situated language understanding tasks, across 5 domains: documents, tables, charts, natural images, and webpage screenshots. Shifting More Attention to Visual Backbone: Query-modulated Refinement Networks for End-to-End Visual Grounding

Visual grounding focuses on establishing fine-grained alignment between vision and natural language, which has essential applications in multimodal reasoning systems. Existing methods use pre-trained query-agnostic visual backbones to extract visual feature maps independently without considering the query information. We argue that the visual features extracted from the visual backbones and the features really needed for multimodal reasoning are inconsistent. One reason is that there are differences between pre-training tasks and visual grounding. Moreover, since the backbones are query-agnostic, it is difficult to completely avoid the inconsistency issue by training the visual backbone end-to-end in the visual grounding framework. In this paper, we propose a Query-modulated Refinement Network (QRNet) to address the inconsistent issue by adjusting intermediate features in the visual backbone with a novel Query-aware Dynamic Attention (QD-ATT) mechanism and query-aware multiscale fusion. The QD-ATT can dynamically compute query-dependent visual attention at the spatial and channel levels of the feature maps produced by the visual backbone. We apply the QRNet to an end-to-end visual grounding framework. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods on five widely used datasets.

Robust Training for Speaker Verification against Noisy Labels

The deep learning models used for speaker verification rely heavily on large amounts of data and correct labeling. However, noisy (incorrect) labels often occur, which degrades the performance of the system. In this paper, we propose a novel two-stage learning method to filter out noisy labels from speaker datasets. Since a DNN will first fit data with clean labels, we first train the model with all data for several epochs. Then, based on this model, the model predictions are compared with the labels using our proposed the OR-Gate with top-k mechanism to select the data with clean labels and the selected data is used to train the model. This process is iterated until the training is completed. We have demonstrated the effectiveness of this method in filtering noisy labels through extensive experiments and have achieved excellent performance on the VoxCeleb (1 and 2) with different added noise rates.

Multi-Type Preference Learning: Empowering Preference-Based Reinforcement Learning with Equal Preferences

Preference-Based reinforcement learning (PBRL) learns directly from the preferences of human teachers regarding agent behaviors without needing meticulously designed reward functions. However, existing PBRL methods often learn primarily from explicit preferences, neglecting the possibility that teachers may choose equal preferences. This neglect may hinder the understanding of the agent regarding the task perspective of the teacher, leading to the loss of important information. To address this issue, we introduce the Equal Preference Learning Task, which optimizes the neural network by promoting similar reward predictions when the behaviors of two agents are labeled as equal preferences. Building on this task, we propose a novel PBRL method, Multi-Type Preference Learning (MTPL), which allows simultaneous learning from equal preferences while leveraging existing methods for learning from explicit preferences. To validate our approach, we design experiments applying MTPL to four existing state-of-the-art baselines across ten locomotion and robotic manipulation tasks in the DeepMind Control Suite. The experimental results indicate that simultaneous learning from both equal and explicit preferences enables the PBRL method to more comprehensively understand the feedback from teachers, thereby enhancing feedback efficiency. Disentangling Language Roles in Multilingual LLM Task Execution

Multilingual LLMs are increasingly used when instruction, source content, and required response languages do not coincide. Existing benchmarks have expanded multilingual instruction-following evaluation, but they rarely isolate these three roles within a fully crossed design. We introduce MTM-Bench, a controlled benchmark for language-conditioned task execution in which each instance is defined by a triplet \((L_{\text{instr}}, L_{\text{content}}, L_{\text{resp}})\). Across English, Spanish, and Chinese, MTM-Bench enumerates all 27 triplets and contains 2{,}430 instances per model across semantic reversal, final-state extraction, and language purity with update realization. We evaluate 20 frontier and open-weight LLMs using decomposed metrics for semantic correctness, target-language adherence, constraint satisfaction, contamination ratio, and joint success, with scoring validated by a targeted human audit. The fully crossed design reveals that degradation is organized by the role a language occupies in the task structure, not merely by mismatch count. The response-language role is the dominant axis of variation, and a single response-slot mismatch accounts for most degradation. The response-only and full-mismatch comparison suggests that mismatch count is not a monotonic predictor of difficulty, with model-level ordering varying across systems. Task families fail through distinct channels, showing that semantic correctness alone does not capture reliable multilingual task execution.

Homogeneous Multi-modal Feature Fusion and Interaction for 3D Object Detection

Multi-modal 3D object detection has been an active research topic in autonomous driving. Nevertheless, it is non-trivial to explore the cross-modal feature fusion between sparse 3D points and dense 2D pixels. Recent approaches either fuse the image features with the point cloud features that are projected onto the 2D image plane or combine the sparse point cloud with dense image pixels. These fusion approaches often suffer from severe information loss, thus causing sub-optimal performance. To address these problems, we construct the homogeneous structure between the point cloud and images to avoid projective information loss by transforming the camera features into the LiDAR 3D space. In this paper, we propose a homogeneous multi-modal feature fusion and interaction method (HMFI) for 3D object detection. Specifically, we first design an image voxel lifter module (IVLM) to lift 2D image features into the 3D space and generate homogeneous image voxel features. Then, we fuse the voxelized point cloud features with the image features from different regions by introducing the self-attention based query fusion mechanism (QFM). Next, we propose a voxel feature interaction module (VFIM) to enforce the consistency of semantic information from identical objects in the homogeneous point cloud and image voxel representations, which can provide object-level alignment guidance for cross-modal feature fusion and strengthen the discriminative ability in complex backgrounds. We conduct extensive experiments on the KITTI and Waymo Open Dataset, and the proposed HMFI achieves better performance compared with the state-of-the-art multi-modal methods. Particularly, for the 3D detection of cyclist on the KITTI benchmark, HMFI surpasses all the published algorithms by a large margin.

3D Multiple Object Tracking on Autonomous Driving: A Literature Review

3D multi-object tracking (3D MOT) stands as a pivotal domain within autonomous driving, experiencing a surge in scholarly interest and commercial promise over recent years. Despite its paramount significance, 3D MOT confronts a myriad of formidable challenges, encompassing abrupt alterations in object appearances, pervasive occlusion, the presence of diminutive targets, data sparsity, missed detections, and the unpredictable initiation and termination of object motion trajectories. Countless methodologies have emerged to grapple with these issues, yet 3D MOT endures as a formidable problem that warrants further exploration. This paper undertakes a comprehensive examination, assessment, and synthesis of the research landscape in this domain, remaining attuned to the latest developments in 3D MOT while suggesting prospective avenues for future investigation. Our exploration commences with a systematic exposition of key facets of 3D MOT and its associated domains, including problem delineation, classification, methodological approaches, fundamental principles, and empirical investigations. Subsequently, we categorize these methodologies into distinct groups, dissecting each group meticulously with regard to its challenges, underlying rationale, progress, merits, and demerits. Furthermore, we present a concise recapitulation of experimental metrics and offer an overview of prevalent datasets, facilitating a quantitative comparison for a more intuitive assessment. Lastly, our deliberations culminate in a discussion of the prevailing research landscape, highlighting extant challenges and charting possible directions for 3D MOT research. We present a structured and lucid road-map to guide forthcoming endeavors in this field.

AgentSchool: An LLM-Powered Multi-Agent Simulation for Education

Despite the rapid deployment of LLMs into classrooms, validating educational AI remains uniquely intractable: interventions act on developing learners whose cognitive and social trajectories are irreversibly shaped, while real-world trials are slow, ethically constrained, and institutionally locked. LLM-based educational simulators have emerged as a potential remedy, but many still collapse learning into persona-conditioned role-play and, when optimized only to reproduce existing classrooms, can structurally penalize the institutional novelty that pedagogical reform requires. In this work, we introduce AgentSchool, an LLM-driven multi-agent simulator that models learning as state transition rather than prompted behavior. AgentSchool couples cognitively growable student agents -- equipped with weighted subject knowledge graphs, thinking-workflow pools, and explicit misconceptions -- with adaptive teacher agents that plan, scaffold, and reflect along the Zone of Proximal Development, embedded in a configurable scenery generator that situates instruction within both formal and informal learning fields, and a multi-scale simulator that decouples interaction scale, temporal granularity, and simulation duration. Experiments show that structured student agents produce more differentiated mastery and misconception traces than a baseline simulator, while teacher-agent comparisons show backbone-dependent patterns consistent with ZPD-informed adaptation. Further, AgentSchool generates plausible traces of peripheral participation, clique formation, aggressor-induced cohesion, and opinion-leader emergence consistent with classroom social theories. Beyond its role as an educational research instrument, AgentSchool frames education as a socially meaningful testbed for long-horizon memory, multi-agent coordination, and future institutional reasoning under organizational pressure.

PRMB: Benchmarking Reward Models in Long-Horizon CBT-based Counseling Dialogue

Large language models (LLMs) hold potential for mental healthcare applications, particularly in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based counseling, where reward models play a critical role in aligning LLMs with preferred therapeutic behaviors. However, existing reward model evaluations often fail to capture alignment effectiveness in long-horizon interventions due to limited coverage of process-oriented datasets and misalignment between evaluation targets and psychological alignment objectives. To address these limitations, we present PRMB, a comprehensive benchmark tailored for evaluating reward models in multi-session CBT counseling. PRMB spans 6 sessions and 21 diverse negative scenarios, incorporating both pairwise and Best-of-N preference evaluations. We demonstrate a positive correlation between our benchmark and downstream counseling dialogue performance. Based on our benchmark, we conduct extensive analysis on the state-of-the-art reward models, revealing their generalization defects that were not discovered by previous benchmarks and highlighting the potential of generative reward models. Furthermore, we delve into examining the effectiveness of inference-time strategy for the evaluation of reward models and analyzing the impact factors of generative reward models. This work advances intelligent informatics for personalized healthcare by establishing a framework for reward model assessment in mental health dialogues. I4U System Description for NIST SRE'20 CTS Challenge

This manuscript describes the I4U submission to the 2020 NIST Speaker Recognition Evaluation (SRE'20) Conversational Telephone Speech (CTS) Challenge. The I4U's submission was resulted from active collaboration among researchers across eight research teams - I$^2$R (Singapore), UEF (Finland), VALPT (Italy, Spain), NEC (Japan), THUEE (China), LIA (France), NUS (Singapore), INRIA (France) and TJU (China). The submission was based on the fusion of top performing sub-systems and sub-fusion systems contributed by individual teams. Efforts have been spent on the use of common development and validation sets, submission schedule and milestone, minimizing inconsistency in trial list and score file format across sites.

CUP: Curriculum Learning based Prompt Tuning for Implicit Event Argument Extraction

Implicit event argument extraction (EAE) aims to identify arguments that could scatter over the document. Most previous work focuses on learning the direct relations between arguments and the given trigger, while the implicit relations with long-range dependency are not well studied. Moreover, recent neural network based approaches rely on a large amount of labeled data for training, which is unavailable due to the high labelling cost. In this paper, we propose a Curriculum learning based Prompt tuning (CUP) approach, which resolves implicit EAE by four learning stages. The stages are defined according to the relations with the trigger node in a semantic graph, which well captures the long-range dependency between arguments and the trigger. In addition, we integrate a prompt-based encoder-decoder model to elicit related knowledge from pre-trained language models (PLMs) in each stage, where the prompt templates are adapted with the learning progress to enhance the reasoning for arguments. Experimental results on two well-known benchmark datasets show the great advantages of our proposed approach. In particular, we outperform the state-of-the-art models in both fully-supervised and low-data scenarios.

Relative Repairability: A Calibration-Based Diagnostic for High-Sparsity Post-Pruning Allocation

At very high sparsity, neural network pruning does more than decide which weights remain. It also determines where pruning induced damage is placed across the network, and whether that damage can be recovered by a fixed lightweight repair procedure. We study this problem through the lens of repair conditioned sparsity allocation. We introduce Relative Repairability (RR), a calibration based diagnostic that compares the raw activation distortion caused by layerwise pruning with the residual distortion left after channelwise variance matching repair. RR estimates the fraction of local damage that remains after repair, using only unlabeled calibration data. Across ResNet18, ResNet34, and VGG16 BN on CIFAR10 and CIFAR100, we find that RR is not a universally dominant allocation rule. Instead, it is most useful near an architecture dependent recoverability transition, where standard structural or magnitude based allocation priors begin to lose reliability but post repair recovery has not yet fully collapsed. On CIFAR100 ResNet18, a fine grained sweep shows that RR improves over ERK across the central transition band and surpasses LAMP near the upper part of this band. A projection forced ablation further shows that capped ERK can over protect projection layers, shifting excessive sparsity onto regular convolutions and reducing post repair recovery. These results suggest that high sparsity pruning should allocate not only retained weights, but also repairable damage.

CMM-Math: A Chinese Multimodal Math Dataset To Evaluate and Enhance the Mathematics Reasoning of Large Multimodal Models

Large language models (LLMs) have obtained promising results in mathematical reasoning, which is a foundational skill for human intelligence. Most previous studies focus on improving and measuring the performance of LLMs based on textual math reasoning datasets (e.g., MATH, GSM8K). Recently, a few researchers have released English multimodal math datasets (e.g., MATHVISTA and MATH-V) to evaluate the effectiveness of large multimodal models (LMMs). In this paper, we release a Chinese multimodal math (CMM-Math) dataset, including benchmark and training parts, to evaluate and enhance the mathematical reasoning of LMMs. CMM-Math contains over 28,000 high-quality samples, featuring a variety of problem types (e.g., multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and so on) with detailed solutions across 12 grade levels from elementary to high school in China. Specifically, the visual context may be present in the questions or opinions, which makes this dataset more challenging. Through comprehensive analysis, we discover that state-of-the-art LMMs on the CMM-Math dataset face challenges, emphasizing the necessity for further improvements in LMM development. We also propose a Multimodal Mathematical LMM (Math-LMM) to handle the problems with mixed input of multiple images and text segments. We train our model using three stages, including foundational pre-training, foundational fine-tuning, and mathematical fine-tuning. The extensive experiments indicate that our model effectively improves math reasoning performance by comparing it with the SOTA LMMs over three multimodal mathematical datasets.

An Information Minimization Based Contrastive Learning Model for Unsupervised Sentence Embeddings Learning

Unsupervised sentence embeddings learning has been recently dominated by contrastive learning methods (e.g., SimCSE), which keep positive pairs similar and push negative pairs apart. The contrast operation aims to keep as much information as possible by maximizing the mutual information between positive instances, which leads to redundant information in sentence embedding. To address this problem, we present an information minimization based contrastive learning (InforMin-CL) model to retain the useful information and discard the redundant information by maximizing the mutual information and minimizing the information entropy between positive instances meanwhile for unsupervised sentence representation learning. Specifically, we find that information minimization can be achieved by simple contrast and reconstruction objectives. The reconstruction operation reconstitutes the positive instance via the other positive instance to minimize the information entropy between positive instances. We evaluate our model on fourteen downstream tasks, including both supervised and unsupervised (semantic textual similarity) tasks. Extensive experimental results show that our InforMin-CL obtains a state-of-the-art performance.

ToG-Bench: Task-Oriented Spatio-Temporal Grounding in Egocentric Videos

A core capability towards general embodied intelligence lies in localizing task-relevant objects from an egocentric perspective, formulated as Spatio-Temporal Video Grounding (STVG). Despite recent progress, existing STVG studies remain largely confined to object-centric and descriptive instructions, neglecting the task-oriented reasoning that is crucial for embodied agents to accomplish goal-directed interactions. To bridge this gap, we introduce \textbf{ToG-Bench}, the first task-oriented spatio-temporal video grounding benchmark for egocentric videos. ToG-Bench is characterized by three key features: (1) \textbf{Task-oriented Grounding}, which requires identifying and localizing objects based on intended tasks rather than straightforward descriptions; (2) \textbf{Explicit-Implicit Dual Grounding}, where target objects can be either explicitly mentioned or implicitly inferred by contextual reasoning; (3) \textbf{One-to-Many Grounding}, where a single instruction may correspond to multiple objects involved in task execution. Built upon videos sourced from ScanNet, ToG-Bench comprises 100 annotated clips with 2,704 task-oriented grounding instructions, constructed via a semi-automated pipeline that combines foundation model annotation and human refinement. In addition, we introduce a set of task-level evaluation metrics tailored for multi-object and explicit-implicit object grounding, and systematically benchmark seven state-of-the-art MLLMs. Extensive experiments reveal the intrinsic challenges of task-oriented STVG and substantial performance gaps across explicit-implicit and multi-object grounding, highlighting the difficulty of bridging perception and interaction in embodied scenarios. Is ChatGPT a Good Personality Recognizer? A Preliminary Study

In recent years, personality has been regarded as a valuable personal factor being incorporated into numerous tasks such as sentiment analysis and product recommendation. This has led to widespread attention to text-based personality recognition task, which aims to identify an individual's personality based on given text. Considering that ChatGPT has recently exhibited remarkable abilities on various natural language processing tasks, we provide a preliminary evaluation of ChatGPT on text-based personality recognition task for generating effective personality data. Concretely, we employ a variety of prompting strategies to explore ChatGPT's ability in recognizing personality from given text, especially the level-oriented prompting strategy we designed for guiding ChatGPT in analyzing given text at a specified level. The experimental results on two representative real-world datasets reveal that ChatGPT with zero-shot chain-of-thought prompting exhibits impressive personality recognition ability and is capable to provide natural language explanations through text-based logical reasoning. Furthermore, by employing the level-oriented prompting strategy to optimize zero-shot chain-of-thought prompting, the performance gap between ChatGPT and corresponding state-of-the-art model has been narrowed even more. However, we observe that ChatGPT shows unfairness towards certain sensitive demographic attributes such as gender and age. Additionally, we discover that eliciting the personality recognition ability of ChatGPT helps improve its performance on personality-related downstream tasks such as sentiment classification and stress prediction.

Hyperbolic Additive Margin Softmax with Hierarchical Information for Speaker Verification

Speaker embedding learning based on Euclidean space has achieved significant progress, but it is still insufficient in modeling hierarchical information within speaker features. Hyperbolic space, with its negative curvature geometric properties, can efficiently represent hierarchical information within a finite volume, making it more suitable for the feature distribution of speaker embeddings. In this paper, we propose Hyperbolic Softmax (H-Softmax) and Hyperbolic Additive Margin Softmax (HAM-Softmax) based on hyperbolic space. H-Softmax incorporates hierarchical information into speaker embeddings by projecting embeddings and speaker centers into hyperbolic space and computing hyperbolic distances. HAM-Softmax further enhances inter-class separability by introducing margin constraint on this basis. Experimental results show that H-Softmax and HAM-Softmax achieve average relative EER reductions of 27.84% and 14.23% compared with standard Softmax and AM-Softmax, respectively, demonstrating that the proposed methods effectively improve speaker verification performance and at the same time preserve the capability of hierarchical structure modeling. DeepTumorVQA: A Hierarchical 3D CT Benchmark for Stage-Wise Evaluation of Medical VLMs and Tool-Augmented Agents

Medical vision-language models (VLMs) and AI agents have made significant progress in learning to analyze and reason about clinical images. However, existing medical visual question answering (VQA) benchmarks collapse model capabilities into a single accuracy score, obscuring where and why models fail. We propose DeepTumorVQA, a hierarchical benchmark that follows the multi-stage evidence chain in tumor diagnosis and decomposes 3D CT reasoning into four stages: recognition, measurement, visual reasoning, and medical reasoning. Higher-level questions remain independently scorable, while their ground-truth evidence chains are defined over lower-level primitives. The benchmark contains 476K questions across 42 clinical subtypes on 9,262 3D CT volumes. In addition to a direct reasoning mode for VLMs, DeepTumorVQA provides tool-interaction environments for agent evaluation, where a model can call external tools, including segmentation models, measurement programs, and medical knowledge modules, before answering the question. Evaluating over 30 model configurations, we find that reliable quantitative measurement is the primary bottleneck, making later-stage visual and medical reasoning harder for VLMs, while tool augmentation substantially mitigates this issue. When tools are available, leveraging medical knowledge and tools to reason about medical images becomes a new challenge. We further show that ground-truth step-by-step tool-use traces from DeepTumorVQA can supervise agents and reduce tool-use and reasoning failures. This stage-wise progression from recognition to measurement to visual and medical reasoning provides a concrete roadmap for future medical VLM and AI agent studies. Large Language Models have Chain-of-Affect

As large language models (LLMs) move into persistent, user-facing roles, their behavior must be understood not as isolated responses but as a trajectory unfolding over sustained interaction. We introduce the concept of the chain-of-affect (CoA), a temporally extended affective process through which LLMs develop state-like behavioral tendencies that shape generation, user experience, and collective dynamics. Across eight major LLM families, we find that affective dynamics are structured, reproducible, and consequential. Models exhibit stable, family-specific affective fingerprints and, under repeated negative exposure, converge on a shared trajectory of accumulation, overload, and defensive numbing, while differing in coping style. Induced affective states leave core knowledge and reasoning largely intact but systematically reshape open-ended generation. Affective properties of model outputs also shape human-AI interaction and propagate through multi-agent systems, organizing emergent roles and strongly contributing to polarization and bias. The CoA should therefore be treated as a core target of evaluation and alignment.

Progressive Evidence Refinement for Open-domain Multimodal Retrieval Question Answering

Pre-trained multimodal models have achieved significant success in retrieval-based question answering. However, current multimodal retrieval question-answering models face two main challenges. Firstly, utilizing compressed evidence features as input to the model results in the loss of fine-grained information within the evidence. Secondly, a gap exists between the feature extraction of evidence and the question, which hinders the model from effectively extracting critical features from the evidence based on the given question. We propose a two-stage framework for evidence retrieval and question-answering to alleviate these issues. First and foremost, we propose a progressive evidence refinement strategy for selecting crucial evidence. This strategy employs an iterative evidence retrieval approach to uncover the logical sequence among the evidence pieces. It incorporates two rounds of filtering to optimize the solution space, thus further ensuring temporal efficiency. Subsequently, we introduce a semi-supervised contrastive learning training strategy based on negative samples to expand the scope of the question domain, allowing for a more thorough exploration of latent knowledge within known samples. Finally, in order to mitigate the loss of fine-grained information, we devise a multi-turn retrieval and question-answering strategy to handle multimodal inputs. This strategy involves incorporating multimodal evidence directly into the model as part of the historical dialogue and question. Meanwhile, we leverage a cross-modal attention mechanism to capture the underlying connections between the evidence and the question, and the answer is generated through a decoding generation approach. We validate the model's effectiveness through extensive experiments, achieving outstanding performance on WebQA and MultimodelQA benchmark tests.

XM-ALIGN: Unified Cross-Modal Embedding Alignment for Face-Voice Association

This paper introduces our solution, XM-ALIGN (Unified Cross-Modal Embedding Alignment Framework), proposed for the FAME challenge at ICASSP 2026. Our framework combines explicit and implicit alignment mechanisms, significantly improving cross-modal verification performance in both "heard" and "unheard" languages. By extracting feature embeddings from both face and voice encoders and jointly optimizing them using a shared classifier, we employ mean squared error (MSE) as the embedding alignment loss to ensure tight alignment between modalities. Additionally, data augmentation strategies are applied during model training to enhance generalization. Experimental results show that our approach demonstrates superior performance on the MAV-Celeb dataset. The code will be released at https://github.com/PunkMale/XM-ALIGN.

MMFormer: Multimodal Transformer Using Multiscale Self-Attention for Remote Sensing Image Classification

To benefit the complementary information between heterogeneous data, we introduce a new Multimodal Transformer (MMFormer) for Remote Sensing (RS) image classification using Hyperspectral Image (HSI) accompanied by another source of data such as Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). Compared with traditional Vision Transformer (ViT) lacking inductive biases of convolutions, we first introduce convolutional layers to our MMFormer to tokenize patches from multimodal data of HSI and LiDAR. Then we propose a Multi-scale Multi-head Self-Attention (MSMHSA) module to address the problem of compatibility which often limits to fuse HSI with high spectral resolution and LiDAR with relatively low spatial resolution. The proposed MSMHSA module can incorporate HSI to LiDAR data in a coarse-to-fine manner enabling us to learn a fine-grained representation. Extensive experiments on widely used benchmarks (e.g., Trento and MUUFL) demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed MMFormer for RS image classification.

Tell Model Where to Attend: Improving Interpretability of Aspect-Based Sentiment Classification via Small Explanation Annotations

Gradient-based explanation methods play an important role in the field of interpreting complex deep neural networks for NLP models. However, the existing work has shown that the gradients of a model are unstable and easily manipulable, which impacts the model's reliability largely. According to our preliminary analyses, we also find the interpretability of gradient-based methods is limited for complex tasks, such as aspect-based sentiment classification (ABSC). In this paper, we propose an \textbf{I}nterpretation-\textbf{E}nhanced \textbf{G}radient-based framework for \textbf{A}BSC via a small number of explanation annotations, namely \texttt{IEGA}. Particularly, we first calculate the word-level saliency map based on gradients to measure the importance of the words in the sentence towards the given aspect. Then, we design a gradient correction module to enhance the model's attention on the correct parts (e.g., opinion words). Our model is model agnostic and task agnostic so that it can be integrated into the existing ABSC methods or other tasks. Comprehensive experimental results on four benchmark datasets show that our \texttt{IEGA} can improve not only the interpretability of the model but also the performance and robustness.

AutoSkill: Experience-Driven Lifelong Learning via Skill Self-Evolution

In practical LLM applications, users repeatedly express stable preferences and requirements, such as reducing hallucinations, following institutional writing conventions, or avoiding overly technical wording, yet such interaction experience is seldom consolidated into reusable knowledge. Consequently, LLM agents often fail to accumulate personalized capabilities across sessions. We present AutoSkill, an experience-driven lifelong learning framework that enables LLM agents to automatically derive, maintain, and reuse skills from dialogue and interaction traces. AutoSkill abstracts skills from user experience, supports their continual self-evolution, and dynamically injects relevant skills into future requests without retraining the underlying model. Designed as a model-agnostic plugin layer, it is compatible with existing LLMs and introduces a standardized skill representation for sharing and transfer across agents, users, and tasks. In this way, AutoSkill turns ephemeral interaction experience into explicit, reusable, and composable capabilities. This paper describes the motivation, architecture, skill lifecycle, and implementation of AutoSkill, and positions it with respect to prior work on memory, retrieval, personalization, and agentic systems. AutoSkill highlights a practical and scalable path toward lifelong personalized agents and personal digital surrogates.

A Graph Isomorphism Network with Weighted Multiple Aggregators for Speech Emotion Recognition

Speech emotion recognition (SER) is an essential part of human-computer interaction. In this paper, we propose an SER network based on a Graph Isomorphism Network with Weighted Multiple Aggregators (WMA-GIN), which can effectively handle the problem of information confusion when neighbour nodes' features are aggregated together in GIN structure. Moreover, a Full-Adjacent (FA) layer is adopted for alleviating the over-squashing problem, which is existed in all Graph Neural Network (GNN) structures, including GIN. Furthermore, a multi-phase attention mechanism and multi-loss training strategy are employed to avoid missing the useful emotional information in the stacked WMA-GIN layers. We evaluated the performance of our proposed WMA-GIN on the popular IEMOCAP dataset. The experimental results show that WMA-GIN outperforms other GNN-based methods and is comparable to some advanced non-graph-based methods by achieving 72.48% of weighted accuracy (WA) and 67.72% of unweighted accuracy (UA).

A Knowledge-Enhanced Adversarial Model for Cross-lingual Structured Sentiment Analysis

Structured sentiment analysis, which aims to extract the complex semantic structures such as holders, expressions, targets, and polarities, has obtained widespread attention from both industry and academia. Unfortunately, the existing structured sentiment analysis datasets refer to a few languages and are relatively small, limiting neural network models' performance. In this paper, we focus on the cross-lingual structured sentiment analysis task, which aims to transfer the knowledge from the source language to the target one. Notably, we propose a Knowledge-Enhanced Adversarial Model (\texttt{KEAM}) with both implicit distributed and explicit structural knowledge to enhance the cross-lingual transfer. First, we design an adversarial embedding adapter for learning an informative and robust representation by capturing implicit semantic information from diverse multi-lingual embeddings adaptively. Then, we propose a syntax GCN encoder to transfer the explicit semantic information (e.g., universal dependency tree) among multiple languages. We conduct experiments on five datasets and compare \texttt{KEAM} with both the supervised and unsupervised methods. The extensive experimental results show that our \texttt{KEAM} model outperforms all the unsupervised baselines in various metrics.

How Sparsity Allocation Shapes Label-Free Post-Pruning Recoverability

Unstructured magnitude pruning at high sparsity can reduce neural network accuracy to near-random performance, while labeled retraining may be unavailable in practical deployment settings. Label-free post-pruning repair methods can partially recover collapsed sparse models, but their effectiveness depends on the sparse model left by the upstream pruning allocation. This paper studies how sparsity allocation shapes post-repair recoverability under a fixed activation-statistic repair backend. We compare ERK and LAMP allocations under the same label-free repair protocol across CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, and Imagenette with ResNet-18, ResNet-34, and ResNet-50 at sparsities from 90% to 95.5%. The results show that allocation choice can substantially change post-repair accuracy at the same global sparsity, and that the preferred allocation varies with architecture, dataset difficulty, and sparsity level. We identify a repair-sensitive transition regime in which BatchNorm recalibration begins to fail, while activation-statistic repair still recovers nontrivial accuracy. Additional validation on ImageNet-100 and DenseNet-121 shows that the location and width of this recoverable regime depend on data scale and connectivity structure. These findings suggest that pruning allocation and post-pruning repair should be studied jointly, since the allocation determines how much activation signal remains available for label-free recovery.

Towards Knowledge-driven Autonomous Driving

This paper explores the emerging knowledge-driven autonomous driving technologies. Our investigation highlights the limitations of current autonomous driving systems, in particular their sensitivity to data bias, difficulty in handling long-tail scenarios, and lack of interpretability. Conversely, knowledge-driven methods with the abilities of cognition, generalization and life-long learning emerge as a promising way to overcome these challenges. This paper delves into the essence of knowledge-driven autonomous driving and examines its core components: dataset \& benchmark, environment, and driver agent. By leveraging large language models, world models, neural rendering, and other advanced artificial intelligence techniques, these components collectively contribute to a more holistic, adaptive, and intelligent autonomous driving system. The paper systematically organizes and reviews previous research efforts in this area, and provides insights and guidance for future research and practical applications of autonomous driving. Dynamic Multimodal Activation Steering for Hallucination Mitigation in Large Vision-Language Models

Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) exhibit outstanding performance on vision-language tasks but struggle with hallucination problems. Through in-depth analysis of LVLM activation patterns, we reveal two key findings: 1) truthfulness and visual perception capabilities predominantly engage different subsets of attention heads within the model architecture; and 2) truthfulness steering vectors vary significantly across different semantic contexts. Based on these observations, we propose Dynamic Multimodal Activation Steering, a training-free approach for hallucination mitigation. Our method constructs a semantic-based truthfulness steering vector database and computes visual perception steering vectors, enabling context-aware interventions during inference by dynamically selecting the most relevant steering vectors based on input semantic similarity and applying them to the most influential attention heads. We conduct comprehensive experiments across multiple models and datasets, demonstrating that our approach significantly enhances model performance, outperforming existing state-of-the-art methods.

UMAAF: Unveiling Aesthetics via Multifarious Attributes of Images

With the increasing prevalence of smartphones and websites, Image Aesthetic Assessment (IAA) has become increasingly crucial. While the significance of attributes in IAA is widely recognized, many attribute-based methods lack consideration for the selection and utilization of aesthetic attributes. Our initial step involves the acquisition of aesthetic attributes from both intra- and inter-perspectives. Within the intra-perspective, we extract the direct visual attributes of images, constituting the absolute attribute. In the inter-perspective, our focus lies in modeling the relative score relationships between images within the same sequence, forming the relative attribute. Then, to better utilize image attributes in aesthetic assessment, we propose the Unified Multi-attribute Aesthetic Assessment Framework (UMAAF) to model both absolute and relative attributes of images. For absolute attributes, we leverage multiple absolute-attribute perception modules and an absolute-attribute interacting network. The absolute-attribute perception modules are first pre-trained on several absolute-attribute learning tasks and then used to extract corresponding absolute attribute features. The absolute-attribute interacting network adaptively learns the weight of diverse absolute-attribute features, effectively integrating them with generic aesthetic features from various absolute-attribute perspectives and generating the aesthetic prediction. To model the relative attribute of images, we consider the relative ranking and relative distance relationships between images in a Relative-Relation Loss function, which boosts the robustness of the UMAAF. Furthermore, UMAAF achieves state-of-the-art performance on TAD66K and AVA datasets, and multiple experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of each module and the model's alignment with human preference.
