TransSplat: Unbalanced Semantic Transport for Language-Driven 3DGS EditingYanhui Chen, Jiahong Li, Jingchao Wang et al.
Language-driven 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) editing provides a more convenient approach for modifying complex scenes in VR/AR. Standard pipelines typically adopt a two-stage strategy: first editing multiple 2D views, and then optimizing the 3D representation to match these edited observations. Existing methods mainly improve view consistency through multi-view feature fusion, attention filtering, or iterative recalibration. However, they fail to explicitly address a more fundamental issue: the semantic correspondence between edited 2D evidence and 3D Gaussians. To tackle this problem, we propose TransSplat, which formulates language-driven 3DGS editing as a multi-view unbalanced semantic transport problem. Specifically, our method establishes correspondences between visible Gaussians and view-specific editing prototypes, thereby explicitly characterizing the semantic relationship between edited 2D evidence and 3D Gaussians. It further recovers a cross-view shared canonical 3D edit field to guide unified 3D appearance updates. In addition, we use transport residuals to suppress erroneous edits in non-target regions, mitigating edit leakage and improving local control precision. Qualitative and quantitative results show that, compared with existing 3D editing methods centered on enhancing view consistency, TransSplat achieves superior performance in local editing accuracy and structural consistency.

Long working distance portable smartphone microscopy for metallic mesh defect detectionZhengang Lu, Hongsheng Qin, Jing Li et al.
Metallic mesh is a transparent electromagnetic shielding film with a fine metal line structure. However, it can develop defects that affect the optoelectronic performance whether in the production preparation or in actual use. The development of in-situ non-destructive testing (NDT) devices for metallic mesh requires long working distances, reflective optical path design, and miniaturization. To address the limitations of existing smartphone microscopes, which feature short working distances and inadequate transmission imaging for industrial in-situ inspection, we propose a novel long-working distance reflective smartphone microscopy system (LD-RSM). LD-RSM builds a 4f optical imaging system with external optical components and a smartphone, utilizing a beam splitter to achieve reflective imaging with the illumination system and imaging system on the same side of the sample. It achieves an optical resolution of 4.92$μ$m and a working distance of up to 22.23 mm. Additionally, we introduce a dual prior weighted Robust Principal Component Analysis (DW-RPCA) for defect detection. This approach leverages spectral filter fusion and Hough transform to model different defect types, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of defect identification. Coupled with an optimized threshold segmentation algorithm, DW-RPCA method achieves a pixel-level accuracy of 84.8%. Our work showcases strong potential for growth in the field of in-situ on-line inspection of industrial products.
Visual-RAG: Benchmarking Text-to-Image Retrieval Augmented Generation for Visual Knowledge Intensive QueriesYin Wu, Quanyu Long, Jing Li et al.
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is a paradigm that augments large language models (LLMs) with external knowledge to tackle knowledge-intensive question answering. While several benchmarks evaluate Multimodal LLMs (MLLMs) under Multimodal RAG settings, they predominantly retrieve from textual corpora and do not explicitly assess how models exploit visual evidence during generation. Consequently, there still lacks benchmark that isolates and measures the contribution of retrieved images in RAG. We introduce Visual-RAG, a question-answering benchmark that targets visually grounded, knowledge-intensive questions. Unlike prior work, Visual-RAG requires text-to-image retrieval and the integration of retrieved clue images to extract visual evidence for answer generation. With Visual-RAG, we evaluate 5 open-source and 3 proprietary MLLMs, showcasing that images provide strong evidence in augmented generation. However, even state-of-the-art models struggle to efficiently extract and utilize visual knowledge. Our results highlight the need for improved visual retrieval, grounding, and attribution in multimodal RAG systems.

PLANET v2.0: A comprehensive Protein-Ligand Affinity Prediction Model Based on Mixture Density NetworkHaotian Gao, Xiangying Zhang, Jingyuan Li et al.
Drug discovery represents a time-consuming and financially intensive process, and virtual screening can accelerate it. Scoring functions, as one of the tools guiding virtual screening, have their precision closely tied to screening efficiency. In our previous study, we developed a graph neural network model called PLANET (Protein-Ligand Affinity prediction NETwork), but it suffers from the defect in representing protein-ligand contact maps. Incorrect binding modes inevitably lead to poor affinity predictions, so accurate prediction of the protein-ligand contact map is desired to improve PLANET. In this study, we have proposed PLANET v2.0 as an upgraded version. The model is trained via multi-objective training strategy and incorporates the Mixture Density Network to predict binding modes. Except for the probability density distributions of non-covalent interactions, we innovatively employ another Gaussian mixture model to describe the relationship between distance and energy of each interaction pair and predict protein-ligand affinity like calculating the mathematical expectation. As on the CASF-2016 benchmark, PLANET v2.0 demonstrates excellent scoring power, ranking power, and docking power. The screening power of PLANET v2.0 gets notably improved compared to PLANET and Glide SP and it demonstrates robust validation on a commercial ultra-large-scale dataset. Given its efficiency and accuracy, PLANET v2.0 can hopefully become one of the practical tools for virtual screening workflows.
