MPCM-Net: Multi-scale network integrates partial attention convolution with Mamba for ground-based cloud image segmentation

Penghui Niu, Jiashuai She, Taotao Cai et al.

Ground-based cloud image segmentation is a critical research domain for photovoltaic power forecasting. Current deep learning approaches primarily focus on encoder-decoder architectural refinements. However, existing methodologies exhibit several limitations:(1)they rely on dilated convolutions for multi-scale context extraction, lacking the partial feature effectiveness and interoperability of inter-channel;(2)attention-based feature enhancement implementations neglect accuracy-throughput balance; and (3)the decoder modifications fail to establish global interdependencies among hierarchical local features, limiting inference efficiency. To address these challenges, we propose MPCM-Net, a Multi-scale network that integrates Partial attention Convolutions with Mamba architectures to enhance segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency. Specifically, the encoder incorporates MPAC, which comprises:(1)a MPC block with ParCM and ParSM that enables global spatial interaction across multi-scale cloud formations, and (2)a MPA block combining ParAM and ParSM to extract discriminative features with reduced computational complexity. On the decoder side, a M2B is employed to mitigate contextual loss through a SSHD that maintains linear complexity while enabling deep feature aggregation across spatial and scale dimensions. As a key contribution to the community, we also introduce and release a dataset CSRC, which is a clear-label, fine-grained segmentation benchmark designed to overcome the critical limitations of existing public datasets. Extensive experiments on CSRC demonstrate the superior performance of MPCM-Net over state-of-the-art methods, achieving an optimal balance between segmentation accuracy and inference speed. The dataset and source code will be available at https://github.com/she1110/CSRC.

Training-Free Sparse Attention for Fast Video Generation via Offline Layer-Wise Sparsity Profiling and Online Bidirectional Co-Clustering

Jiayi Luo, Jiayu Chen, Jiankun Wang et al.

Diffusion Transformers (DiTs) achieve strong video generation quality but suffer from high inference cost due to dense 3D attention, leading to the development of sparse attention technologies to improve efficiency. However, existing training-free sparse attention methods in video generation still face two unresolved limitations: ignoring layer heterogeneity in attention pruning and ignoring query-key coupling in block partitioning, which hinder a better quality-speedup trade-off. In this work, we uncover a critical insight that the attention sparsity of each layer is its intrinsic property, with minor effects across different inputs. Motivated by this, we propose SVOO, a training-free Sparse attention framework for fast Video generation via Offline layer-wise sparsity profiling and Online bidirectional co-clustering. Specifically, SVOO adopts a two-stage paradigm: (i) offline layer-wise sensitivity profiling to derive intrinsic per-layer pruning levels, and (ii) online block-wise sparse attention via a novel bidirectional co-clustering algorithm. Extensive experiments on seven widely used video generation models demonstrate that SVOO achieves a superior quality-speedup trade-off over state-of-the-art methods, delivering up to $1.93\times$ speedup while maintaining a PSNR of up to 29 dB on Wan2.1.

DG-Mamba: Robust and Efficient Dynamic Graph Structure Learning with Selective State Space Models

Haonan Yuan, Qingyun Sun, Zhaonan Wang et al.

Dynamic graphs exhibit intertwined spatio-temporal evolutionary patterns, widely existing in the real world. Nevertheless, the structure incompleteness, noise, and redundancy result in poor robustness for Dynamic Graph Neural Networks (DGNNs). Dynamic Graph Structure Learning (DGSL) offers a promising way to optimize graph structures. However, aside from encountering unacceptable quadratic complexity, it overly relies on heuristic priors, making it hard to discover underlying predictive patterns. How to efficiently refine the dynamic structures, capture intrinsic dependencies, and learn robust representations, remains under-explored. In this work, we propose the novel DG-Mamba, a robust and efficient Dynamic Graph structure learning framework with the Selective State Space Models (Mamba). To accelerate the spatio-temporal structure learning, we propose a kernelized dynamic message-passing operator that reduces the quadratic time complexity to linear. To capture global intrinsic dynamics, we establish the dynamic graph as a self-contained system with State Space Model. By discretizing the system states with the cross-snapshot graph adjacency, we enable the long-distance dependencies capturing with the selective snapshot scan. To endow learned dynamic structures more expressive with informativeness, we propose the self-supervised Principle of Relevant Information for DGSL to regularize the most relevant yet least redundant information, enhancing global robustness. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of the robustness and efficiency of our DG-Mamba compared with the state-of-the-art baselines against adversarial attacks.

Robust Graph Learning Against Adversarial Evasion Attacks via Prior-Free Diffusion-Based Structure Purification

Jiayi Luo, Qingyun Sun, Haonan Yuan et al.

Adversarial evasion attacks pose significant threats to graph learning, with lines of studies that have improved the robustness of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs). However, existing works rely on priors about clean graphs or attacking strategies, which are often heuristic and inconsistent. To achieve robust graph learning over different types of evasion attacks and diverse datasets, we investigate this problem from a prior-free structure purification perspective. Specifically, we propose a novel Diffusion-based Structure Purification framework named DiffSP, which creatively incorporates the graph diffusion model to learn intrinsic distributions of clean graphs and purify the perturbed structures by removing adversaries under the direction of the captured predictive patterns without relying on priors. DiffSP is divided into the forward diffusion process and the reverse denoising process, during which structure purification is achieved. To avoid valuable information loss during the forward process, we propose an LID-driven nonisotropic diffusion mechanism to selectively inject noise anisotropically. To promote semantic alignment between the clean graph and the purified graph generated during the reverse process, we reduce the generation uncertainty by the proposed graph transfer entropy guided denoising mechanism. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superior robustness of DiffSP against evasion attacks.
