Referring Image Segmentation Using Text SupervisionFang Liu, Yuhao Liu, Yuqiu Kong et al.
Existing Referring Image Segmentation (RIS) methods typically require expensive pixel-level or box-level annotations for supervision. In this paper, we observe that the referring texts used in RIS already provide sufficient information to localize the target object. Hence, we propose a novel weakly-supervised RIS framework to formulate the target localization problem as a classification process to differentiate between positive and negative text expressions. While the referring text expressions for an image are used as positive expressions, the referring text expressions from other images can be used as negative expressions for this image. Our framework has three main novelties. First, we propose a bilateral prompt method to facilitate the classification process, by harmonizing the domain discrepancy between visual and linguistic features. Second, we propose a calibration method to reduce noisy background information and improve the correctness of the response maps for target object localization. Third, we propose a positive response map selection strategy to generate high-quality pseudo-labels from the enhanced response maps, for training a segmentation network for RIS inference. For evaluation, we propose a new metric to measure localization accuracy. Experiments on four benchmarks show that our framework achieves promising performances to existing fully-supervised RIS methods while outperforming state-of-the-art weakly-supervised methods adapted from related areas. Bi-directional Object-context Prioritization Learning for Saliency RankingXin Tian, Ke Xu, Xin Yang et al.
The saliency ranking task is recently proposed to study the visual behavior that humans would typically shift their attention over different objects of a scene based on their degrees of saliency. Existing approaches focus on learning either object-object or object-scene relations. Such a strategy follows the idea of object-based attention in Psychology, but it tends to favor those objects with strong semantics (e.g., humans), resulting in unrealistic saliency ranking. We observe that spatial attention works concurrently with object-based attention in the human visual recognition system. During the recognition process, the human spatial attention mechanism would move, engage, and disengage from region to region (i.e., context to context). This inspires us to model the region-level interactions, in addition to the object-level reasoning, for saliency ranking. To this end, we propose a novel bi-directional method to unify spatial attention and object-based attention for saliency ranking. Our model includes two novel modules: (1) a selective object saliency (SOS) module that models objectbased attention via inferring the semantic representation of the salient object, and (2) an object-context-object relation (OCOR) module that allocates saliency ranks to objects by jointly modeling the object-context and context-object interactions of the salient objects. Fast Adversarial Training with Smooth ConvergenceMengnan Zhao, Lihe Zhang, Yuqiu Kong et al.
Fast adversarial training (FAT) is beneficial for improving the adversarial robustness of neural networks. However, previous FAT work has encountered a significant issue known as catastrophic overfitting when dealing with large perturbation budgets, \ie the adversarial robustness of models declines to near zero during training. To address this, we analyze the training process of prior FAT work and observe that catastrophic overfitting is accompanied by the appearance of loss convergence outliers. Therefore, we argue a moderately smooth loss convergence process will be a stable FAT process that solves catastrophic overfitting. To obtain a smooth loss convergence process, we propose a novel oscillatory constraint (dubbed ConvergeSmooth) to limit the loss difference between adjacent epochs. The convergence stride of ConvergeSmooth is introduced to balance convergence and smoothing. Likewise, we design weight centralization without introducing additional hyperparameters other than the loss balance coefficient. Our proposed methods are attack-agnostic and thus can improve the training stability of various FAT techniques. Extensive experiments on popular datasets show that the proposed methods efficiently avoid catastrophic overfitting and outperform all previous FAT methods. Center Focusing Network for Real-Time LiDAR Panoptic SegmentationXiaoyan Li, Gang Zhang, Boyue Wang et al.
LiDAR panoptic segmentation facilitates an autonomous vehicle to comprehensively understand the surrounding objects and scenes and is required to run in real time. The recent proposal-free methods accelerate the algorithm, but their effectiveness and efficiency are still limited owing to the difficulty of modeling non-existent instance centers and the costly center-based clustering modules. To achieve accurate and real-time LiDAR panoptic segmentation, a novel center focusing network (CFNet) is introduced. Specifically, the center focusing feature encoding (CFFE) is proposed to explicitly understand the relationships between the original LiDAR points and virtual instance centers by shifting the LiDAR points and filling in the center points. Moreover, to leverage the redundantly detected centers, a fast center deduplication module (CDM) is proposed to select only one center for each instance. Experiments on the SemanticKITTI and nuScenes panoptic segmentation benchmarks demonstrate that our CFNet outperforms all existing methods by a large margin and is 1.6 times faster than the most efficient method. SEMv2: Table Separation Line Detection Based on Instance SegmentationZhenrong Zhang, Pengfei Hu, Jiefeng Ma et al.
Table structure recognition is an indispensable element for enabling machines to comprehend tables. Its primary purpose is to identify the internal structure of a table. Nevertheless, due to the complexity and diversity of their structure and style, it is highly challenging to parse the tabular data into a structured format that machines can comprehend. In this work, we adhere to the principle of the split-and-merge based methods and propose an accurate table structure recognizer, termed SEMv2 (SEM: Split, Embed and Merge). Unlike the previous works in the ``split'' stage, we aim to address the table separation line instance-level discrimination problem and introduce a table separation line detection strategy based on conditional convolution. Specifically, we design the ``split'' in a top-down manner that detects the table separation line instance first and then dynamically predicts the table separation line mask for each instance. The final table separation line shape can be accurately obtained by processing the table separation line mask in a row-wise/column-wise manner. To comprehensively evaluate the SEMv2, we also present a more challenging dataset for table structure recognition, dubbed iFLYTAB, which encompasses multiple style tables in various scenarios such as photos, scanned documents, etc. Extensive experiments on publicly available datasets (e.g. SciTSR, PubTabNet and iFLYTAB) demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed approach. ChatTraffic: Text-to-Traffic Generation via Diffusion ModelChengyang Zhang, Yong Zhang, Qitan Shao et al.
Traffic prediction is one of the most significant foundations in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Traditional traffic prediction methods rely only on historical traffic data to predict traffic trends and face two main challenges. 1) insensitivity to unusual events. 2) limited performance in long-term prediction. In this work, we explore how generative models combined with text describing the traffic system can be applied for traffic generation, and name the task Text-to-Traffic Generation (TTG). The key challenge of the TTG task is how to associate text with the spatial structure of the road network and traffic data for generating traffic situations. To this end, we propose ChatTraffic, the first diffusion model for text-to-traffic generation. To guarantee the consistency between synthetic and real data, we augment a diffusion model with the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to extract spatial correlations of traffic data. In addition, we construct a large dataset containing text-traffic pairs for the TTG task. We benchmarked our model qualitatively and quantitatively on the released dataset. NodeTrans: A Graph Transfer Learning Approach for Traffic PredictionXueyan Yin, Feifan Li, Yanming Shen et al.
Recently, deep learning methods have made great progress in traffic prediction, but their performance depends on a large amount of historical data. In reality, we may face the data scarcity issue. In this case, deep learning models fail to obtain satisfactory performance. Transfer learning is a promising approach to solve the data scarcity issue. However, existing transfer learning approaches in traffic prediction are mainly based on regular grid data, which is not suitable for the inherent graph data in the traffic network. Moreover, existing graph-based models can only capture shared traffic patterns in the road network, and how to learn node-specific patterns is also a challenge. In this paper, we propose a novel transfer learning approach to solve the traffic prediction with few data, which can transfer the knowledge learned from a data-rich source domain to a data-scarce target domain. First, a spatial-temporal graph neural network is proposed, which can capture the node-specific spatial-temporal traffic patterns of different road networks. Then, to improve the robustness of transfer, we design a pattern-based transfer strategy, where we leverage a clustering-based mechanism to distill common spatial-temporal patterns in the source domain, and use these knowledge to further improve the prediction performance of the target domain. Experiments on real-world datasets verify the effectiveness of our approach.

DR-GAN: Distribution Regularization for Text-to-Image GenerationHongchen Tan, Xiuping Liu, Baocai Yin et al.
This paper presents a new Text-to-Image generation model, named Distribution Regularization Generative Adversarial Network (DR-GAN), to generate images from text descriptions from improved distribution learning. In DR-GAN, we introduce two novel modules: a Semantic Disentangling Module (SDM) and a Distribution Normalization Module (DNM). SDM combines the spatial self-attention mechanism and a new Semantic Disentangling Loss (SDL) to help the generator distill key semantic information for the image generation. DNM uses a Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) to normalize and denoise the image latent distribution, which can help the discriminator better distinguish synthesized images from real images. DNM also adopts a Distribution Adversarial Loss (DAL) to guide the generator to align with normalized real image distributions in the latent space. Extensive experiments on two public datasets demonstrated that our DR-GAN achieved a competitive performance in the Text-to-Image task.

CoreUnlearn: Rethinking Concept Unlearning through Disentangled Component-Level Erasure in Text-guided Diffusion ModelsMengnan Zhao, Lihe Zhang, Baocai Yin
Text guided diffusion models have revolutionized image synthesis but also raise ethical concerns, such as privacy violation and harmful content generation. To mitigate these issues, prevailing methods typically leverage an alignment mechanism, with predefined erasure references, to fine-tune pretrained model weights. However, these techniques are intrinsically limited by the representational capacity of textual space and display high sensitivity to the choice of predefined erasure references, e.g., suboptimal references may significantly affect the model utility preservation during erasure. To overcome these limitations, we introduce CoreUnlearn, aiming to disentangle and remove the erasure-critical component of the undesirable concept. Specifically, CoreUnlearn comprises a Component Extraction Module (CEM) and a Swap Disentangling Strategy (SDS). Guided by SDS, CEM is pre-trained to decompose concept embeddings into distinct component types. Leveraging this decomposition, CoreUnlearn then removes the erasure-critical component while retaining non-critical ones by fine-tuning model weights. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CoreUnlearn achieves effective concept erasure with minimal impact on overall model performance.

A Survey on Temporal Knowledge Graph Completion: Taxonomy, Progress, and ProspectsJiapu Wang, Boyue Wang, Meikang Qiu et al.
Temporal characteristics are prominently evident in a substantial volume of knowledge, which underscores the pivotal role of Temporal Knowledge Graphs (TKGs) in both academia and industry. However, TKGs often suffer from incompleteness for three main reasons: the continuous emergence of new knowledge, the weakness of the algorithm for extracting structured information from unstructured data, and the lack of information in the source dataset. Thus, the task of Temporal Knowledge Graph Completion (TKGC) has attracted increasing attention, aiming to predict missing items based on the available information. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of TKGC methods and their details. Specifically, this paper mainly consists of three components, namely, 1)Background, which covers the preliminaries of TKGC methods, loss functions required for training, as well as the dataset and evaluation protocol; 2)Interpolation, that estimates and predicts the missing elements or set of elements through the relevant available information. It further categorizes related TKGC methods based on how to process temporal information; 3)Extrapolation, which typically focuses on continuous TKGs and predicts future events, and then classifies all extrapolation methods based on the algorithms they utilize. We further pinpoint the challenges and discuss future research directions of TKGC.

ALR-GAN: Adaptive Layout Refinement for Text-to-Image SynthesisHongchen Tan, Baocai Yin, Kun Wei et al.
We propose a novel Text-to-Image Generation Network, Adaptive Layout Refinement Generative Adversarial Network (ALR-GAN), to adaptively refine the layout of synthesized images without any auxiliary information. The ALR-GAN includes an Adaptive Layout Refinement (ALR) module and a Layout Visual Refinement (LVR) loss. The ALR module aligns the layout structure (which refers to locations of objects and background) of a synthesized image with that of its corresponding real image. In ALR module, we proposed an Adaptive Layout Refinement (ALR) loss to balance the matching of hard and easy features, for more efficient layout structure matching. Based on the refined layout structure, the LVR loss further refines the visual representation within the layout area. Experimental results on two widely-used datasets show that ALR-GAN performs competitively at the Text-to-Image generation task.

Soft-mask: Adaptive Substructure Extractions for Graph Neural NetworksMingqi Yang, Yanming Shen, Heng Qi et al.
For learning graph representations, not all detailed structures within a graph are relevant to the given graph tasks. Task-relevant structures can be $localized$ or $sparse$ which are only involved in subgraphs or characterized by the interactions of subgraphs (a hierarchical perspective). A graph neural network should be able to efficiently extract task-relevant structures and be invariant to irrelevant parts, which is challenging for general message passing GNNs. In this work, we propose to learn graph representations from a sequence of subgraphs of the original graph to better capture task-relevant substructures or hierarchical structures and skip $noisy$ parts. To this end, we design soft-mask GNN layer to extract desired subgraphs through the mask mechanism. The soft-mask is defined in a continuous space to maintain the differentiability and characterize the weights of different parts. Compared with existing subgraph or hierarchical representation learning methods and graph pooling operations, the soft-mask GNN layer is not limited by the fixed sample or drop ratio, and therefore is more flexible to extract subgraphs with arbitrary sizes. Extensive experiments on public graph benchmarks show that soft-mask mechanism brings performance improvements. And it also provides interpretability where visualizing the values of masks in each layer allows us to have an insight into the structures learned by the model.

Explore Contextual Information for 3D Scene Graph GenerationYuanyuan Liu, Chengjiang Long, Zhaoxuan Zhang et al.
3D scene graph generation (SGG) has been of high interest in computer vision. Although the accuracy of 3D SGG on coarse classification and single relation label has been gradually improved, the performance of existing works is still far from being perfect for fine-grained and multi-label situations. In this paper, we propose a framework fully exploring contextual information for the 3D SGG task, which attempts to satisfy the requirements of fine-grained entity class, multiple relation labels, and high accuracy simultaneously. Our proposed approach is composed of a Graph Feature Extraction module and a Graph Contextual Reasoning module, achieving appropriate information-redundancy feature extraction, structured organization, and hierarchical inferring. Our approach achieves superior or competitive performance over previous methods on the 3DSSG dataset, especially on the relationship prediction sub-task.

Point Cloud Scene Completion with Joint Color and Semantic Estimation from Single RGB-D ImageZhaoxuan Zhang, Xiaoguang Han, Bo Dong et al.
We present a deep reinforcement learning method of progressive view inpainting for colored semantic point cloud scene completion under volume guidance, achieving high-quality scene reconstruction from only a single RGB-D image with severe occlusion. Our approach is end-to-end, consisting of three modules: 3D scene volume reconstruction, 2D RGB-D and segmentation image inpainting, and multi-view selection for completion. Given a single RGB-D image, our method first predicts its semantic segmentation map and goes through the 3D volume branch to obtain a volumetric scene reconstruction as a guide to the next view inpainting step, which attempts to make up the missing information; the third step involves projecting the volume under the same view of the input, concatenating them to complete the current view RGB-D and segmentation map, and integrating all RGB-D and segmentation maps into the point cloud. Since the occluded areas are unavailable, we resort to a A3C network to glance around and pick the next best view for large hole completion progressively until a scene is adequately reconstructed while guaranteeing validity. All steps are learned jointly to achieve robust and consistent results. We perform qualitative and quantitative evaluations with extensive experiments on the 3D-FUTURE data, obtaining better results than state-of-the-arts.

TagaVLM: Topology-Aware Global Action Reasoning for Vision-Language NavigationJiaxing Liu, Zexi Zhang, Xiaoyan Li et al.
Vision-Language Navigation (VLN) presents a unique challenge for Large Vision-Language Models (VLMs) due to their inherent architectural mismatch: VLMs are primarily pretrained on static, disembodied vision-language tasks, which fundamentally clash with the dynamic, embodied, and spatially-structured nature of navigation. Existing large-model-based methods often resort to converting rich visual and spatial information into text, forcing models to implicitly infer complex visual-topological relationships or limiting their global action capabilities. To bridge this gap, we propose TagaVLM (Topology-Aware Global Action reasoning), an end-to-end framework that explicitly injects topological structures into the VLM backbone. To introduce topological edge information, Spatial Topology Aware Residual Attention (STAR-Att) directly integrates it into the VLM's self-attention mechanism, enabling intrinsic spatial reasoning while preserving pretrained knowledge. To enhance topological node information, an Interleaved Navigation Prompt strengthens node-level visual-text alignment. Finally, with the embedded topological graph, the model is capable of global action reasoning, allowing for robust path correction. On the R2R benchmark, TagaVLM achieves state-of-the-art performance among large-model-based methods, with a Success Rate (SR) of 51.09% and SPL of 47.18 in unseen environments, outperforming prior work by 3.39% in SR and 9.08 in SPL. This demonstrates that, for embodied spatial reasoning, targeted enhancements on smaller open-source VLMs can be more effective than brute-force model scaling. A Geometrical Approach to Evaluate the Adversarial Robustness of Deep Neural NetworksYang Wang, Bo Dong, Ke Xu et al.
Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) are widely used for computer vision tasks. However, it has been shown that deep models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks, i.e., their performances drop when imperceptible perturbations are made to the original inputs, which may further degrade the following visual tasks or introduce new problems such as data and privacy security. Hence, metrics for evaluating the robustness of deep models against adversarial attacks are desired. However, previous metrics are mainly proposed for evaluating the adversarial robustness of shallow networks on the small-scale datasets. Although the Cross Lipschitz Extreme Value for nEtwork Robustness (CLEVER) metric has been proposed for large-scale datasets (e.g., the ImageNet dataset), it is computationally expensive and its performance relies on a tractable number of samples. In this paper, we propose the Adversarial Converging Time Score (ACTS), an attack-dependent metric that quantifies the adversarial robustness of a DNN on a specific input. Our key observation is that local neighborhoods on a DNN's output surface would have different shapes given different inputs. Hence, given different inputs, it requires different time for converging to an adversarial sample. Based on this geometry meaning, ACTS measures the converging time as an adversarial robustness metric. We validate the effectiveness and generalization of the proposed ACTS metric against different adversarial attacks on the large-scale ImageNet dataset using state-of-the-art deep networks. Extensive experiments show that our ACTS metric is an efficient and effective adversarial metric over the previous CLEVER metric.

Distractor-aware Event-based TrackingYingkai Fu, Meng Li, Wenxi Liu et al.
Event cameras, or dynamic vision sensors, have recently achieved success from fundamental vision tasks to high-level vision researches. Due to its ability to asynchronously capture light intensity changes, event camera has an inherent advantage to capture moving objects in challenging scenarios including objects under low light, high dynamic range, or fast moving objects. Thus event camera are natural for visual object tracking. However, the current event-based trackers derived from RGB trackers simply modify the input images to event frames and still follow conventional tracking pipeline that mainly focus on object texture for target distinction. As a result, the trackers may not be robust dealing with challenging scenarios such as moving cameras and cluttered foreground. In this paper, we propose a distractor-aware event-based tracker that introduces transformer modules into Siamese network architecture (named DANet). Specifically, our model is mainly composed of a motion-aware network and a target-aware network, which simultaneously exploits both motion cues and object contours from event data, so as to discover motion objects and identify the target object by removing dynamic distractors. Our DANet can be trained in an end-to-end manner without any post-processing and can run at over 80 FPS on a single V100. We conduct comprehensive experiments on two large event tracking datasets to validate the proposed model. We demonstrate that our tracker has superior performance against the state-of-the-art trackers in terms of both accuracy and efficiency.

AnchorRefine: Synergy-Manipulation Based on Trajectory Anchor and Residual Refinement for Vision-Language-Action ModelsTingzheng Jia, Kan Guo, Lanping Qian et al.
Precision-critical manipulation requires both global trajectory organization and local execution correction, yet most vision-language-action (VLA) policies generate actions within a single unified space. This monolithic formulation forces macro-level transport and micro-level refinement to be optimized under the same objective, causing large motions to dominate learning while suppressing small but failure-critical corrective signals. In contrast, human manipulation is structured by global movement planning together with continuous local adjustment during execution. Motivated by this principle, we propose AnchorRefine, a hierarchical framework that factorizes VLA action modeling into trajectory anchor and residual refinement. The anchor planner predicts a coarse motion scaffold, while the refinement module corrects execution-level deviations to improve geometric and contact precision. We further introduce a decision-aware gripper refinement mechanism to better capture the discrete and boundary-sensitive nature of gripper control. Experiments on LIBERO, CALVIN, and real-robot tasks demonstrate that AnchorRefine consistently improves both regression-based and diffusion-based VLA backbones, yielding gains of up to 7.8% in simulation success rate and 18% in real-world success rate.

NAMER: Non-Autoregressive Modeling for Handwritten Mathematical Expression RecognitionChenyu Liu, Jia Pan, Jinshui Hu et al.
Recently, Handwritten Mathematical Expression Recognition (HMER) has gained considerable attention in pattern recognition for its diverse applications in document understanding. Current methods typically approach HMER as an image-to-sequence generation task within an autoregressive (AR) encoder-decoder framework. However, these approaches suffer from several drawbacks: 1) a lack of overall language context, limiting information utilization beyond the current decoding step; 2) error accumulation during AR decoding; and 3) slow decoding speed. To tackle these problems, this paper makes the first attempt to build a novel bottom-up Non-AutoRegressive Modeling approach for HMER, called NAMER. NAMER comprises a Visual Aware Tokenizer (VAT) and a Parallel Graph Decoder (PGD). Initially, the VAT tokenizes visible symbols and local relations at a coarse level. Subsequently, the PGD refines all tokens and establishes connectivities in parallel, leveraging comprehensive visual and linguistic contexts. Experiments on CROHME 2014/2016/2019 and HME100K datasets demonstrate that NAMER not only outperforms the current state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods on ExpRate by 1.93%/2.35%/1.49%/0.62%, but also achieves significant speedups of 13.7x and 6.7x faster in decoding time and overall FPS, proving the effectiveness and efficiency of NAMER.

Hierarchical Multi-modal Transformer for Cross-modal Long Document ClassificationTengfei Liu, Yongli Hu, Junbin Gao et al.
Long Document Classification (LDC) has gained significant attention recently. However, multi-modal data in long documents such as texts and images are not being effectively utilized. Prior studies in this area have attempted to integrate texts and images in document-related tasks, but they have only focused on short text sequences and images of pages. How to classify long documents with hierarchical structure texts and embedding images is a new problem and faces multi-modal representation difficulties. In this paper, we propose a novel approach called Hierarchical Multi-modal Transformer (HMT) for cross-modal long document classification. The HMT conducts multi-modal feature interaction and fusion between images and texts in a hierarchical manner. Our approach uses a multi-modal transformer and a dynamic multi-scale multi-modal transformer to model the complex relationships between image features, and the section and sentence features. Furthermore, we introduce a new interaction strategy called the dynamic mask transfer module to integrate these two transformers by propagating features between them. To validate our approach, we conduct cross-modal LDC experiments on two newly created and two publicly available multi-modal long document datasets, and the results show that the proposed HMT outperforms state-of-the-art single-modality and multi-modality methods.

Hi-SAM: Marrying Segment Anything Model for Hierarchical Text SegmentationMaoyuan Ye, Jing Zhang, Juhua Liu et al.
The Segment Anything Model (SAM), a profound vision foundation model pretrained on a large-scale dataset, breaks the boundaries of general segmentation and sparks various downstream applications. This paper introduces Hi-SAM, a unified model leveraging SAM for hierarchical text segmentation. Hi-SAM excels in segmentation across four hierarchies, including pixel-level text, word, text-line, and paragraph, while realizing layout analysis as well. Specifically, we first turn SAM into a high-quality pixel-level text segmentation (TS) model through a parameter-efficient fine-tuning approach. We use this TS model to iteratively generate the pixel-level text labels in a semi-automatical manner, unifying labels across the four text hierarchies in the HierText dataset. Subsequently, with these complete labels, we launch the end-to-end trainable Hi-SAM based on the TS architecture with a customized hierarchical mask decoder. During inference, Hi-SAM offers both automatic mask generation (AMG) mode and promptable segmentation (PS) mode. In the AMG mode, Hi-SAM segments pixel-level text foreground masks initially, then samples foreground points for hierarchical text mask generation and achieves layout analysis in passing. As for the PS mode, Hi-SAM provides word, text-line, and paragraph masks with a single point click. Experimental results show the state-of-the-art performance of our TS model: 84.86% fgIOU on Total-Text and 88.96% fgIOU on TextSeg for pixel-level text segmentation. Moreover, compared to the previous specialist for joint hierarchical detection and layout analysis on HierText, Hi-SAM achieves significant improvements: 4.73% PQ and 5.39% F1 on the text-line level, 5.49% PQ and 7.39% F1 on the paragraph level layout analysis, requiring $20\times$ fewer training epochs. Modality-Agnostic Prompt Learning for Multi-Modal Camouflaged Object DetectionHao Wang, Jiqing Zhang, Xin Yang et al.
Camouflaged Object Detection (COD) aims to segment objects that blend seamlessly into complex backgrounds, with growing interest in exploiting additional visual modalities to enhance robustness through complementary information. However, most existing approaches generally rely on modality-specific architectures or customized fusion strategies, which limit scalability and cross-modal generalization. To address this, we propose a novel framework that generates modality-agnostic multi-modal prompts for the Segment Anything Model (SAM), enabling parameter-efficient adaptation to arbitrary auxiliary modalities and significantly improving overall performance on COD tasks. Specifically, we model multi-modal learning through interactions between a data-driven content domain and a knowledge-driven prompt domain, distilling task-relevant cues into unified prompts for SAM decoding. We further introduce a lightweight Mask Refine Module to calibrate coarse predictions by incorporating fine-grained prompt cues, leading to more accurate camouflaged object boundaries. Extensive experiments on RGB-Depth, RGB-Thermal, and RGB-Polarization benchmarks validate the effectiveness and generalization of our modality-agnostic framework.

Exploring Part-Informed Visual-Language Learning for Person Re-IdentificationYin Lin, Yehansen Chen, Baocai Yin et al.
Recently, visual-language learning (VLL) has shown great potential in enhancing visual-based person re-identification (ReID). Existing VLL-based ReID methods typically focus on image-text feature alignment at the whole-body level, while neglecting supervision on fine-grained part features, thus lacking constraints for local feature semantic consistency. To this end, we propose Part-Informed Visual-language Learning ($π$-VL) to enhance fine-grained visual features with part-informed language supervisions for ReID tasks. Specifically, $π$-VL introduces a human parsing-guided prompt tuning strategy and a hierarchical visual-language alignment paradigm to ensure within-part feature semantic consistency. The former combines both identity labels and human parsing maps to constitute pixel-level text prompts, and the latter fuses multi-scale visual features with a light-weight auxiliary head to perform fine-grained image-text alignment. As a plug-and-play and inference-free solution, our $π$-VL achieves performance comparable to or better than state-of-the-art methods on four commonly used ReID benchmarks. Notably, it reports 91.0% Rank-1 and 76.9% mAP on the challenging MSMT17 database, without bells and whistles.

Ensemble Predicate Decoding for Unbiased Scene Graph GenerationJiasong Feng, Lichun Wang, Hongbo Xu et al.
Scene Graph Generation (SGG) aims to generate a comprehensive graphical representation that accurately captures the semantic information of a given scenario. However, the SGG model's performance in predicting more fine-grained predicates is hindered by a significant predicate bias. According to existing works, the long-tail distribution of predicates in training data results in the biased scene graph. However, the semantic overlap between predicate categories makes predicate prediction difficult, and there is a significant difference in the sample size of semantically similar predicates, making the predicate prediction more difficult. Therefore, higher requirements are placed on the discriminative ability of the model. In order to address this problem, this paper proposes Ensemble Predicate Decoding (EPD), which employs multiple decoders to attain unbiased scene graph generation. Two auxiliary decoders trained on lower-frequency predicates are used to improve the discriminative ability of the model. Extensive experiments are conducted on the VG, and the experiment results show that EPD enhances the model's representation capability for predicates. In addition, we find that our approach ensures a relatively superior predictive capability for more frequent predicates compared to previous unbiased SGG methods.

BjTT: A Large-scale Multimodal Dataset for Traffic PredictionChengyang Zhang, Yong Zhang, Qitan Shao et al.
Traffic prediction is one of the most significant foundations in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Traditional traffic prediction methods rely only on historical traffic data to predict traffic trends and face two main challenges. 1) insensitivity to unusual events. 2) limited performance in long-term prediction. In this work, we explore how generative models combined with text describing the traffic system can be applied for traffic generation, and name the task Text-to-Traffic Generation (TTG). The key challenge of the TTG task is how to associate text with the spatial structure of the road network and traffic data for generating traffic situations. To this end, we propose ChatTraffic, the first diffusion model for text-to-traffic generation. To guarantee the consistency between synthetic and real data, we augment a diffusion model with the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to extract spatial correlations of traffic data. In addition, we construct a large dataset containing text-traffic pairs for the TTG task. We benchmarked our model qualitatively and quantitatively on the released dataset. Binary-Gaussian: Compact and Progressive Representation for 3D Gaussian SegmentationAn Yang, Chenyu Liu, Jun Du et al.
3D Gaussian Splatting (3D-GS) has emerged as an efficient 3D representation and a promising foundation for semantic tasks like segmentation. However, existing 3D-GS-based segmentation methods typically rely on high-dimensional category features, which introduce substantial memory overhead. Moreover, fine-grained segmentation remains challenging due to label space congestion and the lack of stable multi-granularity control mechanisms. To address these limitations, we propose a coarse-to-fine binary encoding scheme for per-Gaussian category representation, which compresses each feature into a single integer via the binary-to-decimal mapping, drastically reducing memory usage. We further design a progressive training strategy that decomposes panoptic segmentation into a series of independent sub-tasks, reducing inter-class conflicts and thereby enhancing fine-grained segmentation capability. Additionally, we fine-tune opacity during segmentation training to address the incompatibility between photometric rendering and semantic segmentation, which often leads to foreground-background confusion. Extensive experiments on multiple benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art segmentation performance while significantly reducing memory consumption and accelerating inference.

AdvAnchor: Enhancing Diffusion Model Unlearning with Adversarial AnchorsMengnan Zhao, Lihe Zhang, Xingyi Yang et al.
Security concerns surrounding text-to-image diffusion models have driven researchers to unlearn inappropriate concepts through fine-tuning. Recent fine-tuning methods typically align the prediction distributions of unsafe prompts with those of predefined text anchors. However, these techniques exhibit a considerable performance trade-off between eliminating undesirable concepts and preserving other concepts. In this paper, we systematically analyze the impact of diverse text anchors on unlearning performance. Guided by this analysis, we propose AdvAnchor, a novel approach that generates adversarial anchors to alleviate the trade-off issue. These adversarial anchors are crafted to closely resemble the embeddings of undesirable concepts to maintain overall model performance, while selectively excluding defining attributes of these concepts for effective erasure. RFL: Simplifying Chemical Structure Recognition with Ring-Free LanguageQikai Chang, Mingjun Chen, Changpeng Pi et al.
The primary objective of Optical Chemical Structure Recognition is to identify chemical structure images into corresponding markup sequences. However, the complex two-dimensional structures of molecules, particularly those with rings and multiple branches, present significant challenges for current end-to-end methods to learn one-dimensional markup directly. To overcome this limitation, we propose a novel Ring-Free Language (RFL), which utilizes a divide-and-conquer strategy to describe chemical structures in a hierarchical form. RFL allows complex molecular structures to be decomposed into multiple parts, ensuring both uniqueness and conciseness while enhancing readability. This approach significantly reduces the learning difficulty for recognition models. Leveraging RFL, we propose a universal Molecular Skeleton Decoder (MSD), which comprises a skeleton generation module that progressively predicts the molecular skeleton and individual rings, along with a branch classification module for predicting branch information. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed RFL and MSD can be applied to various mainstream methods, achieving superior performance compared to state-of-the-art approaches in both printed and handwritten scenarios. 1DFormer: a Transformer Architecture Learning 1D Landmark Representations for Facial Landmark TrackingShi Yin, Shijie Huan, Shangfei Wang et al.
Recently, heatmap regression methods based on 1D landmark representations have shown prominent performance on locating facial landmarks. However, previous methods ignored to make deep explorations on the good potentials of 1D landmark representations for sequential and structural modeling of multiple landmarks to track facial landmarks. To address this limitation, we propose a Transformer architecture, namely 1DFormer, which learns informative 1D landmark representations by capturing the dynamic and the geometric patterns of landmarks via token communications in both temporal and spatial dimensions for facial landmark tracking. For temporal modeling, we propose a recurrent token mixing mechanism, an axis-landmark-positional embedding mechanism, as well as a confidence-enhanced multi-head attention mechanism to adaptively and robustly embed long-term landmark dynamics into their 1D representations; for structure modeling, we design intra-group and inter-group structure modeling mechanisms to encode the component-level as well as global-level facial structure patterns as a refinement for the 1D representations of landmarks through token communications in the spatial dimension via 1D convolutional layers. Experimental results on the 300VW and the TF databases show that 1DFormer successfully models the long-range sequential patterns as well as the inherent facial structures to learn informative 1D representations of landmark sequences, and achieves state-of-the-art performance on facial landmark tracking.

TDATR: Improving End-to-End Table Recognition via Table Detail-Aware Learning and Cell-Level Visual AlignmentChunxia Qin, Chenyu Liu, Pengcheng Xia et al.
Tables are pervasive in diverse documents, making table recognition (TR) a fundamental task in document analysis. Existing modular TR pipelines separately model table structure and content, leading to suboptimal integration and complex workflows. End-to-end approaches rely heavily on large-scale TR data and struggle in data-constrained scenarios. To address these issues, we propose TDATR (Table Detail-Aware Table Recognition) improves end-to-end TR through table detail-aware learning and cell-level visual alignment. TDATR adopts a ``perceive-then-fuse'' strategy. The model first performs table detail-aware learning to jointly perceive table structure and content through multiple structure understanding and content recognition tasks designed under a language modeling paradigm. These tasks can naturally leverage document data from diverse scenarios to enhance model robustness. The model then integrates implicit table details to generate structured HTML outputs, enabling more efficient TR modeling when trained with limited data. Furthermore, we design a structure-guided cell localization module integrated into the end-to-end TR framework, which efficiently locates cell and strengthens vision-language alignment. It enhances the interpretability and accuracy of TR. We achieve state-of-the-art or highly competitive performance on seven benchmarks without dataset-specific fine-tuning.

CompEvent: Complex-valued Event-RGB Fusion for Low-light Video Enhancement and DeblurringMingchen Zhong, Xin Lu, Dong Li et al.
Low-light video deblurring poses significant challenges in applications like nighttime surveillance and autonomous driving due to dim lighting and long exposures. While event cameras offer potential solutions with superior low-light sensitivity and high temporal resolution, existing fusion methods typically employ staged strategies, limiting their effectiveness against combined low-light and motion blur degradations. To overcome this, we propose CompEvent, a complex neural network framework enabling holistic full-process fusion of event data and RGB frames for enhanced joint restoration. CompEvent features two core components: 1) Complex Temporal Alignment GRU, which utilizes complex-valued convolutions and processes video and event streams iteratively via GRU to achieve temporal alignment and continuous fusion; and 2) Complex Space-Frequency Learning module, which performs unified complex-valued signal processing in both spatial and frequency domains, facilitating deep fusion through spatial structures and system-level characteristics. By leveraging the holistic representation capability of complex-valued neural networks, CompEvent achieves full-process spatiotemporal fusion, maximizes complementary learning between modalities, and significantly strengthens low-light video deblurring capability. Existing object localization methods are tailored to locate specific classes of objects, relying heavily on abundant labeled data for model optimization. However, acquiring large amounts of labeled data is challenging in many real-world scenarios, significantly limiting the broader application of localization models. To bridge this research gap, this paper defines a novel task named Few-Shot Object Localization (FSOL), which aims to achieve precise localization with limited samples. This task achieves generalized object localization by leveraging a small number of labeled support samples to query the positional information of objects within corresponding images. To advance this field, we design an innovative high-performance baseline model. This model integrates a dual-path feature augmentation module to enhance shape association and gradient differences between supports and query images, alongside a self query module to explore the association between feature maps and query images. Experimental results demonstrate a significant performance improvement of our approach in the FSOL task, establishing an efficient benchmark for further research. A New Perspective on the Effects of Spectrum in Graph Neural NetworksMingqi Yang, Yanming Shen, Rui Li et al.
Many improvements on GNNs can be deemed as operations on the spectrum of the underlying graph matrix, which motivates us to directly study the characteristics of the spectrum and their effects on GNN performance. By generalizing most existing GNN architectures, we show that the correlation issue caused by the $unsmooth$ spectrum becomes the obstacle to leveraging more powerful graph filters as well as developing deep architectures, which therefore restricts GNNs' performance. Inspired by this, we propose the correlation-free architecture which naturally removes the correlation issue among different channels, making it possible to utilize more sophisticated filters within each channel. A Two-Stage Attentive Network for Single Image Super-ResolutionJiqing Zhang, Chengjiang Long, Yuxin Wang et al.
Recently, deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely explored in single image super-resolution (SISR) and contribute remarkable progress. However, most of the existing CNNs-based SISR methods do not adequately explore contextual information in the feature extraction stage and pay little attention to the final high-resolution (HR) image reconstruction step, hence hindering the desired SR performance. To address the above two issues, in this paper, we propose a two-stage attentive network (TSAN) for accurate SISR in a coarse-to-fine manner. Specifically, we design a novel multi-context attentive block (MCAB) to make the network focus on more informative contextual features. Moreover, we present an essential refined attention block (RAB) which could explore useful cues in HR space for reconstructing fine-detailed HR image. Extensive evaluations on four benchmark datasets demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed TSAN in terms of quantitative metrics and visual effects. Large Language Models-guided Dynamic Adaptation for Temporal Knowledge Graph ReasoningJiapu Wang, Kai Sun, Linhao Luo et al.
Temporal Knowledge Graph Reasoning (TKGR) is the process of utilizing temporal information to capture complex relations within a Temporal Knowledge Graph (TKG) to infer new knowledge. Conventional methods in TKGR typically depend on deep learning algorithms or temporal logical rules. However, deep learning-based TKGRs often lack interpretability, whereas rule-based TKGRs struggle to effectively learn temporal rules that capture temporal patterns. Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated extensive knowledge and remarkable proficiency in temporal reasoning. Consequently, the employment of LLMs for Temporal Knowledge Graph Reasoning (TKGR) has sparked increasing interest among researchers. Nonetheless, LLMs are known to function as black boxes, making it challenging to comprehend their reasoning process. Additionally, due to the resource-intensive nature of fine-tuning, promptly updating LLMs to integrate evolving knowledge within TKGs for reasoning is impractical. To address these challenges, in this paper, we propose a Large Language Models-guided Dynamic Adaptation (LLM-DA) method for reasoning on TKGs. Specifically, LLM-DA harnesses the capabilities of LLMs to analyze historical data and extract temporal logical rules. These rules unveil temporal patterns and facilitate interpretable reasoning. To account for the evolving nature of TKGs, a dynamic adaptation strategy is proposed to update the LLM-generated rules with the latest events. This ensures that the extracted rules always incorporate the most recent knowledge and better generalize to the predictions on future events. Experimental results show that without the need of fine-tuning, LLM-DA significantly improves the accuracy of reasoning over several common datasets, providing a robust framework for TKGR tasks.

IME: Integrating Multi-curvature Shared and Specific Embedding for Temporal Knowledge Graph CompletionJiapu Wang, Zheng Cui, Boyue Wang et al.
Temporal Knowledge Graphs (TKGs) incorporate a temporal dimension, allowing for a precise capture of the evolution of knowledge and reflecting the dynamic nature of the real world. Typically, TKGs contain complex geometric structures, with various geometric structures interwoven. However, existing Temporal Knowledge Graph Completion (TKGC) methods either model TKGs in a single space or neglect the heterogeneity of different curvature spaces, thus constraining their capacity to capture these intricate geometric structures. In this paper, we propose a novel Integrating Multi-curvature shared and specific Embedding (IME) model for TKGC tasks. Concretely, IME models TKGs into multi-curvature spaces, including hyperspherical, hyperbolic, and Euclidean spaces. Subsequently, IME incorporates two key properties, namely space-shared property and space-specific property. The space-shared property facilitates the learning of commonalities across different curvature spaces and alleviates the spatial gap caused by the heterogeneous nature of multi-curvature spaces, while the space-specific property captures characteristic features. Meanwhile, IME proposes an Adjustable Multi-curvature Pooling (AMP) approach to effectively retain important information. Furthermore, IME innovatively designs similarity, difference, and structure loss functions to attain the stated objective. Experimental results clearly demonstrate the superior performance of IME over existing state-of-the-art TKGC models.

Separable Multi-Concept Erasure from Diffusion ModelsMengnan Zhao, Lihe Zhang, Tianhang Zheng et al.
Large-scale diffusion models, known for their impressive image generation capabilities, have raised concerns among researchers regarding social impacts, such as the imitation of copyrighted artistic styles. In response, existing approaches turn to machine unlearning techniques to eliminate unsafe concepts from pre-trained models. However, these methods compromise the generative performance and neglect the coupling among multi-concept erasures, as well as the concept restoration problem. To address these issues, we propose a Separable Multi-concept Eraser (SepME), which mainly includes two parts: the generation of concept-irrelevant representations and the weight decoupling. The former aims to avoid unlearning substantial information that is irrelevant to forgotten concepts. The latter separates optimizable model weights, making each weight increment correspond to a specific concept erasure without affecting generative performance on other concepts. Specifically, the weight increment for erasing a specified concept is formulated as a linear combination of solutions calculated based on other known undesirable concepts. Extensive experiments indicate the efficacy of our approach in eliminating concepts, preserving model performance, and offering flexibility in the erasure or recovery of various concepts.

Unveiling the Backdoor Mechanism Hidden Behind Catastrophic Overfitting in Fast Adversarial TrainingMengnan Zhao, Lihe Zhang, Tianhang Zheng et al.
Fast Adversarial Training (FAT) has attracted significant attention due to its efficiency in enhancing neural network robustness against adversarial attacks. However, FAT is prone to catastrophic overfitting (CO), wherein models overfit to the specific attack used during training and fail to generalize to others. While existing methods introduce diverse hypotheses and propose various strategies to mitigate CO, a systematic and intuitive explanation of CO remains absent. In this work, we innovatively interpret CO through the lens of backdoor. Through validations on pathway division, diverse feature predictions, and universal class distinguishable triggers in CO, we conceptualize CO as a weak trigger variant of unlearnable tasks, unifying CO, backdoor attacks, and unlearnable tasks under a common theoretical framework. Guided by this, we leverage several backdoor inspired strategies to mitigate CO: (i) Recalibrate CO affected model parameters using vanilla fine tuning, linear probing, or reinitialization-based techniques; (ii) Introduce a weight outlier suppression constraint to regulate abnormal deviations in model weights. Extensive experiments support our interpretation of CO and show the efficacy of the proposed mitigation strategies.

DGNN: Decoupled Graph Neural Networks with Structural Consistency between Attribute and Graph Embedding RepresentationsJinlu Wang, Jipeng Guo, Yanfeng Sun et al.
Graph neural networks (GNNs) demonstrate a robust capability for representation learning on graphs with complex structures, showcasing superior performance in various applications. The majority of existing GNNs employ a graph convolution operation by using both attribute and structure information through coupled learning. In essence, GNNs, from an optimization perspective, seek to learn a consensus and compromise embedding representation that balances attribute and graph information, selectively exploring and retaining valid information. To obtain a more comprehensive embedding representation of nodes, a novel GNNs framework, dubbed Decoupled Graph Neural Networks (DGNN), is introduced. DGNN explores distinctive embedding representations from the attribute and graph spaces by decoupled terms. Considering that semantic graph, constructed from attribute feature space, consists of different node connection information and provides enhancement for the topological graph, both topological and semantic graphs are combined for the embedding representation learning. Further, structural consistency among attribute embedding and graph embeddings is promoted to effectively remove redundant information and establish soft connection. This involves promoting factor sharing for adjacency reconstruction matrices, facilitating the exploration of a consensus and high-level correlation. Finally, a more powerful and complete representation is achieved through the concatenation of these embeddings. Experimental results conducted on several graph benchmark datasets verify its superiority in node classification task.

Adversarial training (AT) refers to integrating adversarial examples -- inputs altered with imperceptible perturbations that can significantly impact model predictions -- into the training process. Recent studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of AT in improving the robustness of deep neural networks against diverse adversarial attacks. However, a comprehensive overview of these developments is still missing. This survey addresses this gap by reviewing a broad range of recent and representative studies. Specifically, we first describe the implementation procedures and practical applications of AT, followed by a comprehensive review of AT techniques from three perspectives: data enhancement, network design, and training configurations. Lastly, we discuss common challenges in AT and propose several promising directions for future research.

HC-LLM: Historical-Constrained Large Language Models for Radiology Report GenerationTengfei Liu, Jiapu Wang, Yongli Hu et al.
Radiology report generation (RRG) models typically focus on individual exams, often overlooking the integration of historical visual or textual data, which is crucial for patient follow-ups. Traditional methods usually struggle with long sequence dependencies when incorporating historical information, but large language models (LLMs) excel at in-context learning, making them well-suited for analyzing longitudinal medical data. In light of this, we propose a novel Historical-Constrained Large Language Models (HC-LLM) framework for RRG, empowering LLMs with longitudinal report generation capabilities by constraining the consistency and differences between longitudinal images and their corresponding reports. Specifically, our approach extracts both time-shared and time-specific features from longitudinal chest X-rays and diagnostic reports to capture disease progression. Then, we ensure consistent representation by applying intra-modality similarity constraints and aligning various features across modalities with multimodal contrastive and structural constraints. These combined constraints effectively guide the LLMs in generating diagnostic reports that accurately reflect the progression of the disease, achieving state-of-the-art results on the Longitudinal-MIMIC dataset. Notably, our approach performs well even without historical data during testing and can be easily adapted to other multimodal large models, enhancing its versatility.

Although existing FAT approaches have made strides in mitigating CO, the ascent of adversarial robustness occurs with a non-negligible decline in classification accuracy on clean samples. To tackle this issue, we initially employ the feature activation differences between clean and adversarial examples to analyze the underlying causes of CO. Intriguingly, our findings reveal that CO can be attributed to the feature coverage induced by a few specific pathways. By intentionally manipulating feature activation differences in these pathways with well-designed regularization terms, we can effectively mitigate and induce CO, providing further evidence for this observation. Notably, models trained stably with these terms exhibit superior performance compared to prior FAT work. On this basis, we harness CO to achieve `attack obfuscation', aiming to bolster model performance. Consequently, the models suffering from CO can attain optimal classification accuracy on both clean and adversarial data when adding random noise to inputs during evaluation. We also validate their robustness against transferred adversarial examples and the necessity of inducing CO to improve robustness. Hence, CO may not be a problem that has to be solved.

Spectrum-guided Feature Enhancement Network for Event Person Re-IdentificationHongchen Tan, Yi Zhang, Xiuping Liu et al.
As a cutting-edge biosensor, the event camera holds significant potential in the field of computer vision, particularly regarding privacy preservation. However, compared to traditional cameras, event streams often contain noise and possess extremely sparse semantics, posing a formidable challenge for event-based person re-identification (event Re-ID). To address this, we introduce a novel event person re-identification network: the Spectrum-guided Feature Enhancement Network (SFE-Net). This network consists of two innovative components: the Multi-grain Spectrum Attention Mechanism (MSAM) and the Consecutive Patch Dropout Module (CPDM). MSAM employs a fourier spectrum transform strategy to filter event noise, while also utilizing an event-guided multi-granularity attention strategy to enhance and capture discriminative person semantics. CPDM employs a consecutive patch dropout strategy to generate multiple incomplete feature maps, encouraging the deep Re-ID model to equally perceive each effective region of the person's body and capture robust person descriptors. Extensive experiments on Event Re-ID datasets demonstrate that our SFE-Net achieves the best performance in this task.

EipFormer: Emphasizing Instance Positions in 3D Instance SegmentationMengnan Zhao, Lihe Zhang, Yuqiu Kong et al.
3D instance segmentation plays a crucial role in comprehending 3D scenes. Despite recent advancements in this field, existing approaches exhibit certain limitations. These methods often rely on fixed instance positions obtained from sampled representative points in vast 3D point clouds, using center prediction or farthest point sampling. However, these selected positions may deviate from actual instance centers, posing challenges in precisely grouping instances. Moreover, the common practice of grouping candidate instances from a single type of coordinates introduces difficulties in identifying neighboring instances or incorporating edge points. To tackle these issues, we present a novel Transformer-based architecture, EipFormer, which comprises progressive aggregation and dual position embedding. The progressive aggregation mechanism leverages instance positions to refine instance proposals. It enhances the initial instance positions through weighted farthest point sampling and further refines the instance positions and proposals using aggregation averaging and center matching. Additionally, dual position embedding superposes the original and centralized position embeddings, thereby enhancing the model performance in distinguishing adjacent instances. Extensive experiments on popular datasets demonstrate that EipFormer achieves superior or comparable performance compared to state-of-the-art approaches.

Visual and Semantic Prompt Collaboration for Generalized Zero-Shot LearningHuajie Jiang, Zhengxian Li, Xiaohan Yu et al.
Generalized zero-shot learning aims to recognize both seen and unseen classes with the help of semantic information that is shared among different classes. It inevitably requires consistent visual-semantic alignment. Existing approaches fine-tune the visual backbone by seen-class data to obtain semantic-related visual features, which may cause overfitting on seen classes with a limited number of training images. This paper proposes a novel visual and semantic prompt collaboration framework, which utilizes prompt tuning techniques for efficient feature adaptation. Specifically, we design a visual prompt to integrate the visual information for discriminative feature learning and a semantic prompt to integrate the semantic formation for visualsemantic alignment. To achieve effective prompt information integration, we further design a weak prompt fusion mechanism for the shallow layers and a strong prompt fusion mechanism for the deep layers in the network. Through the collaboration of visual and semantic prompts, we can obtain discriminative semantic-related features for generalized zero-shot image recognition. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our framework consistently achieves favorable performance in both conventional zero-shot learning and generalized zero-shot learning benchmarks compared to other state-of-the-art methods.

Col-OLHTR: A Novel Framework for Multimodal Online Handwritten Text RecognitionChenyu Liu, Jinshui Hu, Baocai Yin et al.
Online Handwritten Text Recognition (OLHTR) has gained considerable attention for its diverse range of applications. Current approaches usually treat OLHTR as a sequence recognition task, employing either a single trajectory or image encoder, or multi-stream encoders, combined with a CTC or attention-based recognition decoder. However, these approaches face several drawbacks: 1) single encoders typically focus on either local trajectories or visual regions, lacking the ability to dynamically capture relevant global features in challenging cases; 2) multi-stream encoders, while more comprehensive, suffer from complex structures and increased inference costs. To tackle this, we propose a Collaborative learning-based OLHTR framework, called Col-OLHTR, that learns multimodal features during training while maintaining a single-stream inference process. Col-OLHTR consists of a trajectory encoder, a Point-to-Spatial Alignment (P2SA) module, and an attention-based decoder. The P2SA module is designed to learn image-level spatial features through trajectory-encoded features and 2D rotary position embeddings. During training, an additional image-stream encoder-decoder is collaboratively trained to provide supervision for P2SA features. At inference, the extra streams are discarded, and only the P2SA module is used and merged before the decoder, simplifying the process while preserving high performance. Extensive experimental results on several OLHTR benchmarks demonstrate the state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance, proving the effectiveness and robustness of our design.

Adapter-Enhanced Semantic Prompting for Continual LearningBaocai Yin, Ji Zhao, Huajie Jiang et al.
Continual learning (CL) enables models to adapt to evolving data streams. A major challenge of CL is catastrophic forgetting, where new knowledge will overwrite previously acquired knowledge. Traditional methods usually retain the past data for replay or add additional branches in the model to learn new knowledge, which has high memory requirements. In this paper, we propose a novel lightweight CL framework, Adapter-Enhanced Semantic Prompting (AESP), which integrates prompt tuning and adapter techniques. Specifically, we design semantic-guided prompts to enhance the generalization ability of visual features and utilize adapters to efficiently fuse the semantic information, aiming to learn more adaptive features for the continual learning task. Furthermore, to choose the right task prompt for feature adaptation, we have developed a novel matching mechanism for prompt selection. Extensive experiments on three CL datasets demonstrate that our approach achieves favorable performance across multiple metrics, showing its potential for advancing CL.

WTDUN: Wavelet Tree-Structured Sampling and Deep Unfolding Network for Image Compressed SensingKai Han, Jin Wang, Yunhui Shi et al.
Deep unfolding networks have gained increasing attention in the field of compressed sensing (CS) owing to their theoretical interpretability and superior reconstruction performance. However, most existing deep unfolding methods often face the following issues: 1) they learn directly from single-channel images, leading to a simple feature representation that does not fully capture complex features; and 2) they treat various image components uniformly, ignoring the characteristics of different components. To address these issues, we propose a novel wavelet-domain deep unfolding framework named WTDUN, which operates directly on the multi-scale wavelet subbands. Our method utilizes the intrinsic sparsity and multi-scale structure of wavelet coefficients to achieve a tree-structured sampling and reconstruction, effectively capturing and highlighting the most important features within images. Specifically, the design of tree-structured reconstruction aims to capture the inter-dependencies among the multi-scale subbands, enabling the identification of both fine and coarse features, which can lead to a marked improvement in reconstruction quality. Furthermore, a wavelet domain adaptive sampling method is proposed to greatly improve the sampling capability, which is realized by assigning measurements to each wavelet subband based on its importance. Unlike pure deep learning methods that treat all components uniformly, our method introduces a targeted focus on important subbands, considering their energy and sparsity. This targeted strategy lets us capture key information more efficiently while discarding less important information, resulting in a more effective and detailed reconstruction. Extensive experimental results on various datasets validate the superior performance of our proposed method.

Object localization is a hot issue in computer vision area, which aims to identify and determine the precise location of specific objects from image or video. Most existing object localization methods heavily rely on extensive labeled data, which are costly to annotate and constrain their applicability. Therefore, we propose a new Zero-Shot Object Localization (ZSOL) framework for addressing the aforementioned challenges. In the proposed framework, we introduce the Contrastive Language Image Pre-training (CLIP) module which could integrate visual and linguistic information effectively. Furthermore, we design a Text Self-Similarity Matching (TSSM) module, which could improve the localization accuracy by enhancing the representation of text features extracted by CLIP module. Hence, the proposed framework can be guided by prompt words to identify and locate specific objects in an image in the absence of labeled samples. The results of extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed method could improve the localization performance significantly and establishes an effective benchmark for further research.

Dual-Frequency Filtering Self-aware Graph Neural Networks for Homophilic and Heterophilic GraphsYachao Yang, Yanfeng Sun, Jipeng Guo et al.
Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have excelled in handling graph-structured data, attracting significant research interest. However, two primary challenges have emerged: interference between topology and attributes distorting node representations, and the low-pass filtering nature of most GNNs leading to the oversight of valuable high-frequency information in graph signals. These issues are particularly pronounced in heterophilic graphs. To address these challenges, we propose Dual-Frequency Filtering Self-aware Graph Neural Networks (DFGNN). DFGNN integrates low-pass and high-pass filters to extract smooth and detailed topological features, using frequency-specific constraints to minimize noise and redundancy in the respective frequency bands. The model dynamically adjusts filtering ratios to accommodate both homophilic and heterophilic graphs. Furthermore, DFGNN mitigates interference by aligning topological and attribute representations through dynamic correspondences between their respective frequency bands, enhancing overall model performance and expressiveness. Extensive experiments conducted on benchmark datasets demonstrate that DFGNN outperforms state-of-the-art methods in classification performance, highlighting its effectiveness in handling both homophilic and heterophilic graphs.
