Image Steganography based on Style Transfer

Donghui Hu, Yu Zhang, Cong Yu et al.

Image steganography is the art and science of using images as cover for covert communications. With the development of neural networks, traditional image steganography is more likely to be detected by deep learning-based steganalysis. To improve upon this, we propose image steganography network based on style transfer, and the embedding of secret messages can be disguised as image stylization. We embed secret information while transforming the content image style. In latent space, the secret information is integrated into the latent representation of the cover image to generate the stego images, which are indistinguishable from normal stylized images. It is an end-to-end unsupervised model without pre-training. Extensive experiments on the benchmark dataset demonstrate the reliability, quality and security of stego images generated by our steganographic network.

Exemplar-based Video Colorization with Long-term Spatiotemporal Dependency

Siqi Chen, Xueming Li, Xianlin Zhang et al.

Exemplar-based video colorization is an essential technique for applications like old movie restoration. Although recent methods perform well in still scenes or scenes with regular movement, they always lack robustness in moving scenes due to their weak ability in modeling long-term dependency both spatially and temporally, leading to color fading, color discontinuity or other artifacts. To solve this problem, we propose an exemplar-based video colorization framework with long-term spatiotemporal dependency. To enhance the long-term spatial dependency, a parallelized CNN-Transformer block and a double head non-local operation are designed. The proposed CNN-Transformer block can better incorporate long-term spatial dependency with local texture and structural features, and the double head non-local operation further leverages the performance of augmented feature. While for long-term temporal dependency enhancement, we further introduce the novel linkage subnet. The linkage subnet propagate motion information across adjacent frame blocks and help to maintain temporal continuity. Experiments demonstrate that our model outperforms recent state-of-the-art methods both quantitatively and qualitatively. Also, our model can generate more colorful, realistic and stabilized results, especially for scenes where objects change greatly and irregularly.

Resolving Symmetry Ambiguity in Correspondence-based Methods for Instance-level Object Pose Estimation

Yongliang Lin, Yongzhi Su, Sandeep Inuganti et al.

Estimating the 6D pose of an object from a single RGB image is a critical task that becomes additionally challenging when dealing with symmetric objects. Recent approaches typically establish one-to-one correspondences between image pixels and 3D object surface vertices. However, the utilization of one-to-one correspondences introduces ambiguity for symmetric objects. To address this, we propose SymCode, a symmetry-aware surface encoding that encodes the object surface vertices based on one-to-many correspondences, eliminating the problem of one-to-one correspondence ambiguity. We also introduce SymNet, a fast end-to-end network that directly regresses the 6D pose parameters without solving a PnP problem. We demonstrate faster runtime and comparable accuracy achieved by our method on the T-LESS and IC-BIN benchmarks of mostly symmetric objects. Our source code will be released upon acceptance.
