Rollout-Based Charging Scheduling for Electric Truck Fleets in Large Transportation NetworksTing Bai, Xinfeng Ru, Shaoyuan Li et al.
In this paper, we investigate the charging scheduling optimization problem for large electric truck fleets operating with dedicated charging infrastructure. A central coordinator jointly determines the charging sequence and power allocation of each truck to minimize the total operational cost of the fleet. The problem is inherently combinatorial and nonlinear due to the coupling between discrete sequencing decisions and continuous charging control, rendering exact optimization intractable for real-time implementation. To address this challenge, we propose a rollout-based dynamic programming framework built upon an inner-outer two-layer structure, which decouples ordering decisions from the schedule optimization, thus enabling efficient policy evaluation and approximation. The proposed method achieves near-optimal solutions with polynomial-time complexity and adapts to dynamic arrivals and time-varying electricity prices. Simulation studies show that the rollout-based approach significantly outperforms conventional heuristics with high computational efficiency, demonstrating its effectiveness and practical applicability for real-time charging management in large-scale transportation networks.

Mobility and Cost Aware Inference Accelerating Algorithm for Edge IntelligenceXin Yuan, Ning Li, kang Wei et al.
The edge intelligence (EI) has been widely applied recently. Spliting the model between device, edge server, and cloud can improve the performance of EI greatly. The model segmentation without user mobility has been investigated deeply by previous works. However, in most use cases of EI, the end devices are mobile. Only a few works have been carried out on this aspect. These works still have many issues, such as ignoring the energy consumption of mobile device, inappropriate network assumption, and low effectiveness on adaptiving user mobility, etc. Therefore, for addressing the disadvantages of model segmentation and resource allocation in previous works, we propose mobility and cost aware model segmentation and resource allocation algorithm for accelerating the inference at edge (MCSA). Specfically, in the scenario without user mobility, the loop interation gradient descent (Li-GD) algorithm is provided. When the mobile user has a large model inference task needs to be calculated, it will take the energy consumption of mobile user, the communication and computing resource renting cost, and the inference delay into account to find the optimal model segmentation and resource allocation strategy. In the scenario with user mobility, the mobiity aware Li-GD (MLi-GD) algorithm is proposed to calculate the optimal strategy. Then, the properties of the proposed algorithms are investigated, including convergence, complexity, and approximation ratio. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

PyramNet: Point Cloud Pyramid Attention Network and Graph Embedding Module for Classification and SegmentationKang Zhiheng, Li Ning
With the tide of artificial intelligence, we try to apply deep learning to understand 3D data. Point cloud is an important 3D data structure, which can accurately and directly reflect the real world. In this paper, we propose a simple and effective network, which is named PyramNet, suites for point cloud object classification and semantic segmentation in 3D scene. We design two new operators: Graph Embedding Module(GEM) and Pyramid Attention Network(PAN). Specifically, GEM projects point cloud onto the graph and practices the covariance matrix to explore the relationship between points, so as to improve the local feature expression ability of the model. PAN assigns some strong semantic features to each point to retain fine geometric features as much as possible. Furthermore, we provide extensive evaluation and analysis for the effectiveness of PyramNet. Empirically, we evaluate our model on ModelNet40, ShapeNet and S3DIS.
