Goku: Flow Based Video Generative Foundation Models

Shoufa Chen, Chongjian Ge, Yuqi Zhang et al.

This paper introduces Goku, a state-of-the-art family of joint image-and-video generation models leveraging rectified flow Transformers to achieve industry-leading performance. We detail the foundational elements enabling high-quality visual generation, including the data curation pipeline, model architecture design, flow formulation, and advanced infrastructure for efficient and robust large-scale training. The Goku models demonstrate superior performance in both qualitative and quantitative evaluations, setting new benchmarks across major tasks. Specifically, Goku achieves 0.76 on GenEval and 83.65 on DPG-Bench for text-to-image generation, and 84.85 on VBench for text-to-video tasks. We believe that this work provides valuable insights and practical advancements for the research community in developing joint image-and-video generation models.

A Diffusion-Driven Temporal Super-Resolution and Spatial Consistency Enhancement Framework for 4D MRI imaging

Xuanru Zhou, Jiarun Liu, Shoujun Yu et al.

In medical imaging, 4D MRI enables dynamic 3D visualization, yet the trade-off between spatial and temporal resolution requires prolonged scan time that can compromise temporal fidelity--especially during rapid, large-amplitude motion. Traditional approaches typically rely on registration-based interpolation to generate intermediate frames. However, these methods struggle with large deformations, resulting in misregistration, artifacts, and diminished spatial consistency. To address these challenges, we propose TSSC-Net, a novel framework that generates intermediate frames while preserving spatial consistency. To improve temporal fidelity under fast motion, our diffusion-based temporal super-resolution network generates intermediate frames using the start and end frames as key references, achieving 6x temporal super-resolution in a single inference step. Additionally, we introduce a novel tri-directional Mamba-based module that leverages long-range contextual information to effectively resolve spatial inconsistencies arising from cross-slice misalignment, thereby enhancing volumetric coherence and correcting cross-slice errors. Extensive experiments were performed on the public ACDC cardiac MRI dataset and a real-world dynamic 4D knee joint dataset. The results demonstrate that TSSC-Net can generate high-resolution dynamic MRI from fast-motion data while preserving structural fidelity and spatial consistency.

SynStitch: a Self-Supervised Learning Network for Ultrasound Image Stitching Using Synthetic Training Pairs and Indirect Supervision

Xing Yao, Runxuan Yu, Dewei Hu et al.

Ultrasound (US) image stitching can expand the field-of-view (FOV) by combining multiple US images from varied probe positions. However, registering US images with only partially overlapping anatomical contents is a challenging task. In this work, we introduce SynStitch, a self-supervised framework designed for 2DUS stitching. SynStitch consists of a synthetic stitching pair generation module (SSPGM) and an image stitching module (ISM). SSPGM utilizes a patch-conditioned ControlNet to generate realistic 2DUS stitching pairs with known affine matrix from a single input image. ISM then utilizes this synthetic paired data to learn 2DUS stitching in a supervised manner. Our framework was evaluated against multiple leading methods on a kidney ultrasound dataset, demonstrating superior 2DUS stitching performance through both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The code will be made public upon acceptance of the paper.

A coarse-to-fine framework for unsupervised multi-contrast MR image deformable registration with dual consistency constraint

Weijian Huang, Hao Yang, Xinfeng Liu et al.

Multi-contrast magnetic resonance (MR) image registration is useful in the clinic to achieve fast and accurate imaging-based disease diagnosis and treatment planning. Nevertheless, the efficiency and performance of the existing registration algorithms can still be improved. In this paper, we propose a novel unsupervised learning-based framework to achieve accurate and efficient multi-contrast MR image registrations. Specifically, an end-to-end coarse-to-fine network architecture consisting of affine and deformable transformations is designed to improve the robustness and achieve end-to-end registration. Furthermore, a dual consistency constraint and a new prior knowledge-based loss function are developed to enhance the registration performances. The proposed method has been evaluated on a clinical dataset containing 555 cases, and encouraging performances have been achieved. Compared to the commonly utilized registration methods, including VoxelMorph, SyN, and LT-Net, the proposed method achieves better registration performance with a Dice score of 0.8397 in identifying stroke lesions. With regards to the registration speed, our method is about 10 times faster than the most competitive method of SyN (Affine) when testing on a CPU. Moreover, we prove that our method can still perform well on more challenging tasks with lacking scanning information data, showing high robustness for the clinical application.
