DyG-Mamba: Continuous State Space Modeling on Dynamic Graphs

Dongyuan Li, Shiyin Tan, Ying Zhang et al.

Dynamic graph modeling aims to uncover evolutionary patterns in real-world systems, enabling accurate social recommendation and early detection of cancer cells. Inspired by the success of recent state space models in efficiently capturing long-term dependencies, we propose DyG-Mamba by translating dynamic graph modeling into a long-term sequence modeling problem. Specifically, inspired by Ebbinghaus' forgetting curve, we treat the irregular timespans between events as control signals, allowing DyG-Mamba to dynamically adjust the forgetting of historical information. This mechanism ensures effective usage of irregular timespans, thereby improving both model effectiveness and inductive capability. In addition, inspired by Ebbinghaus' review cycle, we redefine core parameters to ensure that DyG-Mamba selectively reviews historical information and filters out noisy inputs, further enhancing the model's robustness. Through exhaustive experiments on 12 datasets covering dynamic link prediction and node classification tasks, we show that DyG-Mamba achieves state-of-the-art performance on most datasets, while demonstrating significantly improved computational and memory efficiency. Unleash LLMs Potential for Recommendation by Coordinating Twin-Tower Dynamic Semantic Token Generator

Jun Yin, Zhengxin Zeng, Mingzheng Li et al.

Owing to the unprecedented capability in semantic understanding and logical reasoning, the pre-trained large language models (LLMs) have shown fantastic potential in developing the next-generation recommender systems (RSs). However, the static index paradigm adopted by current methods greatly restricts the utilization of LLMs capacity for recommendation, leading to not only the insufficient alignment between semantic and collaborative knowledge, but also the neglect of high-order user-item interaction patterns. In this paper, we propose Twin-Tower Dynamic Semantic Recommender (TTDS), the first generative RS which adopts dynamic semantic index paradigm, targeting at resolving the above problems simultaneously. To be more specific, we for the first time contrive a dynamic knowledge fusion framework which integrates a twin-tower semantic token generator into the LLM-based recommender, hierarchically allocating meaningful semantic index for items and users, and accordingly predicting the semantic index of target item. Furthermore, a dual-modality variational auto-encoder is proposed to facilitate multi-grained alignment between semantic and collaborative knowledge. Eventually, a series of novel tuning tasks specially customized for capturing high-order user-item interaction patterns are proposed to take advantages of user historical behavior. Extensive experiments across three public datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed methodology in developing LLM-based generative RSs. The proposed TTDS recommender achieves an average improvement of 19.41% in Hit-Rate and 20.84% in NDCG metric, compared with the leading baseline methods.

BlindGuard: Safeguarding LLM-based Multi-Agent Systems under Unknown Attacks

Rui Miao, Yixin Liu, Yili Wang et al.

The security of LLM-based multi-agent systems (MAS) is critically threatened by propagation vulnerability, where malicious agents can distort collective decision-making through inter-agent message interactions. While existing supervised defense methods demonstrate promising performance, they may be impractical in real-world scenarios due to their heavy reliance on labeled malicious agents to train a supervised malicious detection model. To enable practical and generalizable MAS defenses, in this paper, we propose BlindGuard, an unsupervised defense method that learns without requiring any attack-specific labels or prior knowledge of malicious behaviors. To this end, we establish a hierarchical agent encoder to capture individual, neighborhood, and global interaction patterns of each agent, providing a comprehensive understanding for malicious agent detection. Meanwhile, we design a corruption-guided detector that consists of directional noise injection and contrastive learning, allowing effective detection model training solely on normal agent behaviors. Extensive experiments show that BlindGuard effectively detects diverse attack types (i.e., prompt injection, memory poisoning, and tool attack) across MAS with various communication patterns while maintaining superior generalizability compared to supervised baselines. Regressor-free Molecule Generation to Support Drug Response Prediction

Kun Li, Xiuwen Gong, Shirui Pan et al.

Drug response prediction (DRP) is a crucial phase in drug discovery, and the most important metric for its evaluation is the IC50 score. DRP results are heavily dependent on the quality of the generated molecules. Existing molecule generation methods typically employ classifier-based guidance, enabling sampling within the IC50 classification range. However, these methods fail to ensure the sampling space range's effectiveness, generating numerous ineffective molecules. Through experimental and theoretical study, we hypothesize that conditional generation based on the target IC50 score can obtain a more effective sampling space. As a result, we introduce regressor-free guidance molecule generation to ensure sampling within a more effective space and support DRP. Regressor-free guidance combines a diffusion model's score estimation with a regression controller model's gradient based on number labels. To effectively map regression labels between drugs and cell lines, we design a common-sense numerical knowledge graph that constrains the order of text representations. Experimental results on the real-world dataset for the DRP task demonstrate our method's effectiveness in drug discovery. The code is available at:https://anonymous.4open.science/r/RMCD-DBD1.
