Optimization and Application of Cloud-based Deep Learning Architecture for Multi-Source Data Prediction

Yang Zhang, Fa Wang, Xin Huang et al.

This study develops a cloud-based deep learning system for early prediction of diabetes, leveraging the distributed computing capabilities of the AWS cloud platform and deep learning technologies to achieve efficient and accurate risk assessment. The system utilizes EC2 p3.8xlarge GPU instances to accelerate model training, reducing training time by 93.2% while maintaining a prediction accuracy of 94.2%. With an automated data processing and model training pipeline built using Apache Airflow, the system can complete end-to-end updates within 18.7 hours. In clinical applications, the system demonstrates a prediction accuracy of 89.8%, sensitivity of 92.3%, and specificity of 95.1%. Early interventions based on predictions lead to a 37.5% reduction in diabetes incidence among the target population. The system's high performance and scalability provide strong support for large-scale diabetes prevention and management, showcasing significant public health value.

RealisID: Scale-Robust and Fine-Controllable Identity Customization via Local and Global Complementation

Zhaoyang Sun, Fei Du, Weihua Chen et al.

Recently, the success of text-to-image synthesis has greatly advanced the development of identity customization techniques, whose main goal is to produce realistic identity-specific photographs based on text prompts and reference face images. However, it is difficult for existing identity customization methods to simultaneously meet the various requirements of different real-world applications, including the identity fidelity of small face, the control of face location, pose and expression, as well as the customization of multiple persons. To this end, we propose a scale-robust and fine-controllable method, namely RealisID, which learns different control capabilities through the cooperation between a pair of local and global branches. Specifically, by using cropping and up-sampling operations to filter out face-irrelevant information, the local branch concentrates the fine control of facial details and the scale-robust identity fidelity within the face region. Meanwhile, the global branch manages the overall harmony of the entire image. It also controls the face location by taking the location guidance as input. As a result, RealisID can benefit from the complementarity of these two branches. Finally, by implementing our branches with two different variants of ControlNet, our method can be easily extended to handle multi-person customization, even only trained on single-person datasets. Extensive experiments and ablation studies indicate the effectiveness of RealisID and verify its ability in fulfilling all the requirements mentioned above.

Know More about Each Other: Evolving Dialogue Strategy via Compound Assessment

Siqi Bao, Huang He, Fan Wang et al.

In this paper, a novel Generation-Evaluation framework is developed for multi-turn conversations with the objective of letting both participants know more about each other. For the sake of rational knowledge utilization and coherent conversation flow, a dialogue strategy which controls knowledge selection is instantiated and continuously adapted via reinforcement learning. Under the deployed strategy, knowledge grounded conversations are conducted with two dialogue agents. The generated dialogues are comprehensively evaluated on aspects like informativeness and coherence, which are aligned with our objective and human instinct. These assessments are integrated as a compound reward to guide the evolution of dialogue strategy via policy gradient. Comprehensive experiments have been carried out on the publicly available dataset, demonstrating that the proposed method outperforms the other state-of-the-art approaches significantly.
