CityNavAgent: Aerial Vision-and-Language Navigation with Hierarchical Semantic Planning and Global MemoryWeichen Zhang, Chen Gao, Shiquan Yu et al.
Aerial vision-and-language navigation (VLN), requiring drones to interpret natural language instructions and navigate complex urban environments, emerges as a critical embodied AI challenge that bridges human-robot interaction, 3D spatial reasoning, and real-world deployment. Although existing ground VLN agents achieved notable results in indoor and outdoor settings, they struggle in aerial VLN due to the absence of predefined navigation graphs and the exponentially expanding action space in long-horizon exploration. In this work, we propose \textbf{CityNavAgent}, a large language model (LLM)-empowered agent that significantly reduces the navigation complexity for urban aerial VLN. Specifically, we design a hierarchical semantic planning module (HSPM) that decomposes the long-horizon task into sub-goals with different semantic levels. The agent reaches the target progressively by achieving sub-goals with different capacities of the LLM. Additionally, a global memory module storing historical trajectories into a topological graph is developed to simplify navigation for visited targets. Extensive benchmark experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance with significant improvement. Further experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of different modules of CityNavAgent for aerial VLN in continuous city environments. Line Art Correlation Matching Feature Transfer Network for Automatic Animation ColorizationZhang Qian, Wang Bo, Wen Wei et al.
Automatic animation line art colorization is a challenging computer vision problem, since the information of the line art is highly sparse and abstracted and there exists a strict requirement for the color and style consistency between frames. Recently, a lot of Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) based image-to-image translation methods for single line art colorization have emerged. They can generate perceptually appealing results conditioned on line art images. However, these methods can not be adopted for the purpose of animation colorization because there is a lack of consideration of the in-between frame consistency. Existing methods simply input the previous colored frame as a reference to color the next line art, which will mislead the colorization due to the spatial misalignment of the previous colored frame and the next line art especially at positions where apparent changes happen. To address these challenges, we design a kind of correlation matching feature transfer model (called CMFT) to align the colored reference feature in a learnable way and integrate the model into an U-Net based generator in a coarse-to-fine manner. This enables the generator to transfer the layer-wise synchronized features from the deep semantic code to the content progressively. Extension evaluation shows that CMFT model can effectively improve the in-between consistency and the quality of colored frames especially when the motion is intense and diverse.

High Fidelity Face Manipulation with Extreme Poses and ExpressionsChaoyou Fu, Yibo Hu, Xiang Wu et al.
Face manipulation has shown remarkable advances with the flourish of Generative Adversarial Networks. However, due to the difficulties of controlling structures and textures, it is challenging to model poses and expressions simultaneously, especially for the extreme manipulation at high-resolution. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that simplifies face manipulation into two correlated stages: a boundary prediction stage and a disentangled face synthesis stage. The first stage models poses and expressions jointly via boundary images. Specifically, a conditional encoder-decoder network is employed to predict the boundary image of the target face in a semi-supervised way. Pose and expression estimators are introduced to improve the prediction performance. In the second stage, the predicted boundary image and the input face image are encoded into the structure and the texture latent space by two encoder networks, respectively. A proxy network and a feature threshold loss are further imposed to disentangle the latent space. Furthermore, due to the lack of high-resolution face manipulation databases to verify the effectiveness of our method, we collect a new high-quality Multi-View Face (MVF-HQ) database. It contains 120,283 images at 6000x4000 resolution from 479 identities with diverse poses, expressions, and illuminations. MVF-HQ is much larger in scale and much higher in resolution than publicly available high-resolution face manipulation databases. We will release MVF-HQ soon to push forward the advance of face manipulation. Qualitative and quantitative experiments on four databases show that our method dramatically improves the synthesis quality.
