A weak Galerkin finite element method for Burgers' equationYanli Chen, Tie Zhang
We propose a weak Galerkin(WG) finite element method for solving the one-dimensional Burgers' equation. Based on a new weak variational form, both semi-discrete and fully-discrete WG finite element schemes are established and analyzed. We prove the existence of the discrete solution and derive the optimal order error estimates in the discrete $H^1$-norm and $L^2$-norm, respectively. Numerical experiments are presented to illustrate our theoretical analysis.

A Stable Weak Galerkin Finite Element Method for Stokes ProblemTie Zhang, Tao Lin
We study the weak Galerkin finite element method for Stokes problem. A new weak Galerkin finite element velocity-pressure space pair is presented which satisfies the discrete inf-sup condition. Based on this space pair, we establish a stable weak Galerkin approximation scheme without adding any stability term or penalty term. Then, we further derive the optimal error estimates for velocity and pressure approximations, respectively. Numerical experiments are provided to illustrate the theoretical analysis.

Reinforcement Learning for Robotic Time-optimal Path Tracking Using Prior KnowledgeJiadong Xiao, Lin Li, Yanbiao Zou et al.
Time-optimal path tracking, as a significant tool for industrial robots, has attracted the attention of numerous researchers. In most time-optimal path tracking problems, the actuator torque constraints are assumed to be conservative, which ignores the motor characteristic; i.e., the actuator torque constraints are velocity-dependent, and the relationship between torque and velocity is piecewise linear. However, considering that the motor characteristics increase the solving difficulty, in this study, an improved Q-learning algorithm for robotic time-optimal path tracking using prior knowledge is proposed. After considering the limitations of the Q-learning algorithm, an improved action-value function is proposed to improve the convergence rate. The proposed algorithms use the idea of reward and penalty, rewarding the actions that satisfy constraint conditions and penalizing the actions that break constraint conditions, to finally obtain a time-optimal trajectory that satisfies the constraint conditions. The effectiveness of the algorithms is verified by experiments.

The Gradient Superconvergence of Bilinear Finite Volume Element for Elliptic ProblemsTie Zhang, Lixin Tang
We study the gradient superconvergence of bilinear finite volume element (FVE) solving the elliptic problems. First, a superclose weak estimate is established for the bilinear form of the FVE method. Then, we prove that the gradient approximation of the FVE solution has the superconvergence property: $\max_{P\in S}|(\nabla u-\overline{\nabla}u_h)(P)|=O(h^2)|\ln h|$, where $\overline{\nabla}u_h(P)$ denotes the average gradient on elements containing point $P$ and $S$ is the set of optimal stress points composed of the mesh points, the midpoints of edges and elements.

An Analysis of the Weak Finite Element Method for Convection-Diffusion EquationsTie Zhang, Yanli Chen
We study the weak finite element method solving convection-diffusion equations. A weak finite element scheme is presented based on a spacial variational form. We established a weak embedding inequality that is very useful in the weak finite element analysis. The optimal order error estimates are derived in the discrete $H^1$-norm, the $L_2$-norm and the $L_\infty$-norm, respectively. In particular, the $H^1$-superconvergence of order $k+2$ is given under certain condition. Finally, numerical examples are provided to illustrate our theoretical analysis
