A Birotation Solution for Relative Pose ProblemsHongbo Zhao, Ziwei Long, Mengtan Zhang et al.
Relative pose estimation, a fundamental computer vision problem, has been extensively studied for decades. Existing methods either estimate and decompose the essential matrix or directly estimate the rotation and translation to obtain the solution. In this article, we break the mold by tackling this traditional problem with a novel birotation solution. We first introduce three basis transformations, each associated with a geometric metric to quantify the distance between the relative pose to be estimated and its corresponding basis transformation. Three energy functions, designed based on these metrics, are then minimized on the Riemannian manifold $\mathrm{SO(3)}$ by iteratively updating the two rotation matrices. The two rotation matrices and the basis transformation corresponding to the minimum energy are ultimately utilized to recover the relative pose. Extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations across diverse relative pose estimation tasks demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed birotation solution. Source code, demo video, and datasets will be available at \href{https://mias.group/birotation-solution}{mias.group/birotation-solution} upon publication.

Self-attention Dual Embedding for Graphs with HeterophilyYurui Lai, Taiyan Zhang, Rui Fan
Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have been highly successful for the node classification task. GNNs typically assume graphs are homophilic, i.e. neighboring nodes are likely to belong to the same class. However, a number of real-world graphs are heterophilic, and this leads to much lower classification accuracy using standard GNNs. In this work, we design a novel GNN which is effective for both heterophilic and homophilic graphs. Our work is based on three main observations. First, we show that node features and graph topology provide different amounts of informativeness in different graphs, and therefore they should be encoded independently and prioritized in an adaptive manner. Second, we show that allowing negative attention weights when propagating graph topology information improves accuracy. Finally, we show that asymmetric attention weights between nodes are helpful. We design a GNN which makes use of these observations through a novel self-attention mechanism. We evaluate our algorithm on real-world graphs containing thousands to millions of nodes and show that we achieve state-of-the-art results compared to existing GNNs. We also analyze the effectiveness of the main components of our design on different graphs.

Sentiment Analysis based on User Tag for Traditional Chinese Medicine in WeiboJunhui Shen, Peiyan Zhu, Rui Fan et al.
With the acceptance of Western culture and science, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has become a controversial issue in China. So, it's important to study the public's sentiment and opinion on TCM. The rapid development of online social network, such as twitter, make it convenient and efficient to sample hundreds of millions of people for the aforementioned sentiment study. To the best of our knowledge, the present work is the first attempt that applies sentiment analysis to the domain of TCM on Sina Weibo (a twitter-like microblogging service in China). In our work, firstly we collect tweets topic about TCM from Sina Weibo, and label the tweets as supporting TCM and opposing TCM automatically based on user tag. Then, a support vector machine classifier has been built to predict the sentiment of TCM tweets without labels. Finally, we present a method to adjust the classifier result. The performance of F-measure attained with our method is 97%.
