GarmentDreamer: 3DGS Guided Garment Synthesis with Diverse Geometry and Texture Details

Boqian Li, Xuan Li, Ying Jiang et al.

Traditional 3D garment creation is labor-intensive, involving sketching, modeling, UV mapping, and texturing, which are time-consuming and costly. Recent advances in diffusion-based generative models have enabled new possibilities for 3D garment generation from text prompts, images, and videos. However, existing methods either suffer from inconsistencies among multi-view images or require additional processes to separate cloth from the underlying human model. In this paper, we propose GarmentDreamer, a novel method that leverages 3D Gaussian Splatting (GS) as guidance to generate wearable, simulation-ready 3D garment meshes from text prompts. In contrast to using multi-view images directly predicted by generative models as guidance, our 3DGS guidance ensures consistent optimization in both garment deformation and texture synthesis. Our method introduces a novel garment augmentation module, guided by normal and RGBA information, and employs implicit Neural Texture Fields (NeTF) combined with Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) to generate diverse geometric and texture details. We validate the effectiveness of our approach through comprehensive qualitative and quantitative experiments, showcasing the superior performance of GarmentDreamer over state-of-the-art alternatives. Multi-Objective Trajectory Planning with Dual-Encoder

Beibei Zhang, Tian Xiang, Chentao Mao et al.

Time-jerk optimal trajectory planning is crucial in advancing robotic arms' performance in dynamic tasks. Traditional methods rely on solving complex nonlinear programming problems, bringing significant delays in generating optimized trajectories. In this paper, we propose a two-stage approach to accelerate time-jerk optimal trajectory planning. Firstly, we introduce a dual-encoder based transformer model to establish a good preliminary trajectory. This trajectory is subsequently refined through sequential quadratic programming to improve its optimality and robustness. Our approach outperforms the state-of-the-art by up to 79.72\% in reducing trajectory planning time. Compared with existing methods, our method shrinks the optimality gap with the objective function value decreasing by up to 29.9\%.

Selecting Learnable Training Samples is All DETRs Need in Crowded Pedestrian Detection

Feng Gao, Jiaxu Leng, Gan Ji et al.

DEtection TRansformer (DETR) and its variants (DETRs) achieved impressive performance in general object detection. However, in crowded pedestrian detection, the performance of DETRs is still unsatisfactory due to the inappropriate sample selection method which results in more false positives. To settle the issue, we propose a simple but effective sample selection method for DETRs, Sample Selection for Crowded Pedestrians (SSCP), which consists of the constraint-guided label assignment scheme (CGLA) and the utilizability-aware focal loss (UAFL). Our core idea is to select learnable samples for DETRs and adaptively regulate the loss weights of samples based on their utilizability. Specifically, in CGLA, we proposed a new cost function to ensure that only learnable positive training samples are retained and the rest are negative training samples. Further, considering the utilizability of samples, we designed UAFL to adaptively assign different loss weights to learnable positive samples depending on their gradient ratio and IoU. Experimental results show that the proposed SSCP effectively improves the baselines without introducing any overhead in inference. Especially, Iter Deformable DETR is improved to 39.7(-2.0)% MR on Crowdhuman and 31.8(-0.4)% MR on Citypersons.

A Generative Adversarial Network for AI-Aided Chair Design

Zhibo Liu, Feng Gao, Yizhou Wang

We present a method for improving human design of chairs. The goal of the method is generating enormous chair candidates in order to facilitate human designer by creating sketches and 3d models accordingly based on the generated chair design. It consists of an image synthesis module, which learns the underlying distribution of training dataset, a super-resolution module, which improve quality of generated image and human involvements. Finally, we manually pick one of the generated candidates to create a real life chair for illustration.
