Prompt Based Tri-Channel Graph Convolution Neural Network for Aspect Sentiment Triplet Extraction

Kun Peng, Lei Jiang, Hao Peng et al.

Aspect Sentiment Triplet Extraction (ASTE) is an emerging task to extract a given sentence's triplets, which consist of aspects, opinions, and sentiments. Recent studies tend to address this task with a table-filling paradigm, wherein word relations are encoded in a two-dimensional table, and the process involves clarifying all the individual cells to extract triples. However, these studies ignore the deep interaction between neighbor cells, which we find quite helpful for accurate extraction. To this end, we propose a novel model for the ASTE task, called Prompt-based Tri-Channel Graph Convolution Neural Network (PT-GCN), which converts the relation table into a graph to explore more comprehensive relational information. Specifically, we treat the original table cells as nodes and utilize a prompt attention score computation module to determine the edges' weights. This enables us to construct a target-aware grid-like graph to enhance the overall extraction process. After that, a triple-channel convolution module is conducted to extract precise sentiment knowledge. Extensive experiments on the benchmark datasets show that our model achieves state-of-the-art performance. The code is available at https://github.com/KunPunCN/PT-GCN.

Cross-stained Segmentation from Renal Biopsy Images Using Multi-level Adversarial Learning

Ke Mei, Chuang Zhu, Lei Jiang et al.

Segmentation from renal pathological images is a key step in automatic analyzing the renal histological characteristics. However, the performance of models varies significantly in different types of stained datasets due to the appearance variations. In this paper, we design a robust and flexible model for cross-stained segmentation. It is a novel multi-level deep adversarial network architecture that consists of three sub-networks: (i) a segmentation network; (ii) a pair of multi-level mirrored discriminators for guiding the segmentation network to extract domain-invariant features; (iii) a shape discriminator that is utilized to further identify the output of the segmentation network and the ground truth. Experimental results on glomeruli segmentation from renal biopsy images indicate that our network is able to improve segmentation performance on target type of stained images and use unlabeled data to achieve similar accuracy to labeled data. In addition, this method can be easily applied to other tasks.

Pose Invariant 3D Face Reconstruction

Lei Jiang, XiaoJun Wu, Josef Kittler

3D face reconstruction is an important task in the field of computer vision. Although 3D face reconstruction has being developing rapidly in recent years, it is still a challenge for face reconstruction under large pose. That is because much of the information about a face in a large pose will be unknowable. In order to address this issue, this paper proposes a novel 3D face reconstruction algorithm (PIFR) based on 3D Morphable Model (3DMM). After input a single face image, it generates a frontal image by normalizing the image. Then we set weighted sum of the 3D parameters of the two images. Our method solves the problem of face reconstruction of a single image of a traditional method in a large pose, works on arbitrary Pose and Expressions, greatly improves the accuracy of reconstruction. Experiments on the challenging AFW, LFPW and AFLW database show that our algorithm significantly improves the accuracy of 3D face reconstruction even under extreme poses .
