CSL: Class-Agnostic Structure-Constrained Learning for Segmentation Including the UnseenHao Zhang, Fang Li, Lu Qi et al.
Addressing Out-Of-Distribution (OOD) Segmentation and Zero-Shot Semantic Segmentation (ZS3) is challenging, necessitating segmenting unseen classes. Existing strategies adapt the class-agnostic Mask2Former (CA-M2F) tailored to specific tasks. However, these methods cater to singular tasks, demand training from scratch, and we demonstrate certain deficiencies in CA-M2F, which affect performance. We propose the Class-Agnostic Structure-Constrained Learning (CSL), a plug-in framework that can integrate with existing methods, thereby embedding structural constraints and achieving performance gain, including the unseen, specifically OOD, ZS3, and domain adaptation (DA) tasks. There are two schemes for CSL to integrate with existing methods (1) by distilling knowledge from a base teacher network, enforcing constraints across training and inference phrases, or (2) by leveraging established models to obtain per-pixel distributions without retraining, appending constraints during the inference phase. We propose soft assignment and mask split methodologies that enhance OOD object segmentation. Empirical evaluations demonstrate CSL's prowess in boosting the performance of existing algorithms spanning OOD segmentation, ZS3, and DA segmentation, consistently transcending the state-of-art across all three tasks.

Generalizable Entity Grounding via Assistance of Large Language ModelLu Qi, Yi-Wen Chen, Lehan Yang et al.
In this work, we propose a novel approach to densely ground visual entities from a long caption. We leverage a large multimodal model (LMM) to extract semantic nouns, a class-agnostic segmentation model to generate entity-level segmentation, and the proposed multi-modal feature fusion module to associate each semantic noun with its corresponding segmentation mask. Additionally, we introduce a strategy of encoding entity segmentation masks into a colormap, enabling the preservation of fine-grained predictions from features of high-resolution masks. This approach allows us to extract visual features from low-resolution images using the CLIP vision encoder in the LMM, which is more computationally efficient than existing approaches that use an additional encoder for high-resolution images. Our comprehensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our method, outperforming state-of-the-art techniques on three tasks, including panoptic narrative grounding, referring expression segmentation, and panoptic segmentation.

Layout-your-3D: Controllable and Precise 3D Generation with 2D BlueprintJunwei Zhou, Xueting Li, Lu Qi et al.
We present Layout-Your-3D, a framework that allows controllable and compositional 3D generation from text prompts. Existing text-to-3D methods often struggle to generate assets with plausible object interactions or require tedious optimization processes. To address these challenges, our approach leverages 2D layouts as a blueprint to facilitate precise and plausible control over 3D generation. Starting with a 2D layout provided by a user or generated from a text description, we first create a coarse 3D scene using a carefully designed initialization process based on efficient reconstruction models. To enforce coherent global 3D layouts and enhance the quality of instance appearances, we propose a collision-aware layout optimization process followed by instance-wise refinement. Experimental results demonstrate that Layout-Your-3D yields more reasonable and visually appealing compositional 3D assets while significantly reducing the time required for each prompt. Additionally, Layout-Your-3D can be easily applicable to downstream tasks, such as 3D editing and object insertion. Our project page is available at:https://colezwhy.github.io/layoutyour3d/

SegTrans: Transferable Adversarial Examples for Segmentation ModelsYufei Song, Ziqi Zhou, Qi Lu et al.
Segmentation models exhibit significant vulnerability to adversarial examples in white-box settings, but existing adversarial attack methods often show poor transferability across different segmentation models. While some researchers have explored transfer-based adversarial attack (i.e., transfer attack) methods for segmentation models, the complex contextual dependencies within these models and the feature distribution gaps between surrogate and target models result in unsatisfactory transfer success rates. To address these issues, we propose SegTrans, a novel transfer attack framework that divides the input sample into multiple local regions and remaps their semantic information to generate diverse enhanced samples. These enhanced samples replace the original ones for perturbation optimization, thereby improving the transferability of adversarial examples across different segmentation models. Unlike existing methods, SegTrans only retains local semantic information from the original input, rather than using global semantic information to optimize perturbations. Extensive experiments on two benchmark datasets, PASCAL VOC and Cityscapes, four different segmentation models, and three backbone networks show that SegTrans significantly improves adversarial transfer success rates without introducing additional computational overhead. Compared to the current state-of-the-art methods, SegTrans achieves an average increase of 8.55% in transfer attack success rate and improves computational efficiency by more than 100%.

HoliGS: Holistic Gaussian Splatting for Embodied View SynthesisXiaoyuan Wang, Yizhou Zhao, Botao Ye et al.
We propose HoliGS, a novel deformable Gaussian splatting framework that addresses embodied view synthesis from long monocular RGB videos. Unlike prior 4D Gaussian splatting and dynamic NeRF pipelines, which struggle with training overhead in minute-long captures, our method leverages invertible Gaussian Splatting deformation networks to reconstruct large-scale, dynamic environments accurately. Specifically, we decompose each scene into a static background plus time-varying objects, each represented by learned Gaussian primitives undergoing global rigid transformations, skeleton-driven articulation, and subtle non-rigid deformations via an invertible neural flow. This hierarchical warping strategy enables robust free-viewpoint novel-view rendering from various embodied camera trajectories by attaching Gaussians to a complete canonical foreground shape (\eg, egocentric or third-person follow), which may involve substantial viewpoint changes and interactions between multiple actors. Our experiments demonstrate that \ourmethod~ achieves superior reconstruction quality on challenging datasets while significantly reducing both training and rendering time compared to state-of-the-art monocular deformable NeRFs. These results highlight a practical and scalable solution for EVS in real-world scenarios. The source code will be released.
