The Amazon Nova Family of Models: Technical Report and Model Card

WILD-SCAV: Benchmarking FPS Gaming AI on Unity3D-based Environments

Recent advances in deep reinforcement learning (RL) have demonstrated complex decision-making capabilities in simulation environments such as Arcade Learning Environment, MuJoCo, and ViZDoom. However, they are hardly extensible to more complicated problems, mainly due to the lack of complexity and variations in the environments they are trained and tested on. Furthermore, they are not extensible to an open-world environment to facilitate long-term exploration research. To learn realistic task-solving capabilities, we need to develop an environment with greater diversity and complexity. We developed WILD-SCAV, a powerful and extensible environment based on a 3D open-world FPS (First-Person Shooter) game to bridge the gap. It provides realistic 3D environments of variable complexity, various tasks, and multiple modes of interaction, where agents can learn to perceive 3D environments, navigate and plan, compete and cooperate in a human-like manner. WILD-SCAV also supports different complexities, such as configurable maps with different terrains, building structures and distributions, and multi-agent settings with cooperative and competitive tasks. The experimental results on configurable complexity, multi-tasking, and multi-agent scenarios demonstrate the effectiveness of WILD-SCAV in benchmarking various RL algorithms, as well as it is potential to give rise to intelligent agents with generalized task-solving abilities. Penetration-free Solid-Fluid Interaction on Shells and Rods

We introduce a novel approach to simulate the interaction between fluids and thin elastic solids without any penetration. Our approach is centered around an optimization system augmented with barriers, which aims to find a configuration that ensures the absence of penetration while enforcing incompressibility for the fluids and minimizing elastic potentials for the solids. Unlike previous methods that primarily focus on velocity coherence at the fluid-solid interfaces, we demonstrate the effectiveness and flexibility of explicitly resolving positional constraints, including both explicit representation of solid positions and the implicit representation of fluid level-set interface. To preserve the volume of the fluid, we propose a simple yet efficient approach that adjusts the associated level-set values. Additionally, we develop a distance metric capable of measuring the separation between an implicitly represented surface and a Lagrangian object of arbitrary codimension. By integrating the inertia, solid elastic potential, damping, barrier potential, and fluid incompressibility within a unified system, we are able to robustly simulate a wide range of processes involving fluid interactions with lower-dimensional objects such as shells and rods. These processes include topology changes, bouncing, splashing, sliding, rolling, floating, and more.

Deep Intellectual Property Protection: A Survey

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), from AlexNet to ResNet to ChatGPT, have made revolutionary progress in recent years, and are widely used in various fields. The high performance of DNNs requires a huge amount of high-quality data, expensive computing hardware, and excellent DNN architectures that are costly to obtain. Therefore, trained DNNs are becoming valuable assets and must be considered the Intellectual Property (IP) of the legitimate owner who created them, in order to protect trained DNN models from illegal reproduction, stealing, redistribution, or abuse. Although being a new emerging and interdisciplinary field, numerous DNN model IP protection methods have been proposed. Given this period of rapid evolution, the goal of this paper is to provide a comprehensive survey of two mainstream DNN IP protection methods: deep watermarking and deep fingerprinting, with a proposed taxonomy. More than 190 research contributions are included in this survey, covering many aspects of Deep IP Protection: problem definition, main threats and challenges, merits and demerits of deep watermarking and deep fingerprinting methods, evaluation metrics, and performance discussion. We finish the survey by identifying promising directions for future research.

HGOE: Hybrid External and Internal Graph Outlier Exposure for Graph Out-of-Distribution Detection

With the progressive advancements in deep graph learning, out-of-distribution (OOD) detection for graph data has emerged as a critical challenge. While the efficacy of auxiliary datasets in enhancing OOD detection has been extensively studied for image and text data, such approaches have not yet been explored for graph data. Unlike Euclidean data, graph data exhibits greater diversity but lower robustness to perturbations, complicating the integration of outliers. To tackle these challenges, we propose the introduction of \textbf{H}ybrid External and Internal \textbf{G}raph \textbf{O}utlier \textbf{E}xposure (HGOE) to improve graph OOD detection performance. Our framework involves using realistic external graph data from various domains and synthesizing internal outliers within ID subgroups to address the poor robustness and presence of OOD samples within the ID class. Furthermore, we develop a boundary-aware OE loss that adaptively assigns weights to outliers, maximizing the use of high-quality OOD samples while minimizing the impact of low-quality ones. Our proposed HGOE framework is model-agnostic and designed to enhance the effectiveness of existing graph OOD detection models. Experimental results demonstrate that our HGOE framework can significantly improve the performance of existing OOD detection models across all 8 real datasets.

When Measures are Unreliable: Imperceptible Adversarial Perturbations toward Top-$k$ Multi-Label Learning

With the great success of deep neural networks, adversarial learning has received widespread attention in various studies, ranging from multi-class learning to multi-label learning. However, existing adversarial attacks toward multi-label learning only pursue the traditional visual imperceptibility but ignore the new perceptible problem coming from measures such as Precision@$k$ and mAP@$k$. Specifically, when a well-trained multi-label classifier performs far below the expectation on some samples, the victim can easily realize that this performance degeneration stems from attack, rather than the model itself. Therefore, an ideal multi-labeling adversarial attack should manage to not only deceive visual perception but also evade monitoring of measures. To this end, this paper first proposes the concept of measure imperceptibility. Then, a novel loss function is devised to generate such adversarial perturbations that could achieve both visual and measure imperceptibility. Furthermore, an efficient algorithm, which enjoys a convex objective, is established to optimize this objective. Finally, extensive experiments on large-scale benchmark datasets, such as PASCAL VOC 2012, MS COCO, and NUS WIDE, demonstrate the superiority of our proposed method in attacking the top-$k$ multi-label systems.

MAGI-1: Autoregressive Video Generation at Scale

We present MAGI-1, a world model that generates videos by autoregressively predicting a sequence of video chunks, defined as fixed-length segments of consecutive frames. Trained to denoise per-chunk noise that increases monotonically over time, MAGI-1 enables causal temporal modeling and naturally supports streaming generation. It achieves strong performance on image-to-video (I2V) tasks conditioned on text instructions, providing high temporal consistency and scalability, which are made possible by several algorithmic innovations and a dedicated infrastructure stack. MAGI-1 facilitates controllable generation via chunk-wise prompting and supports real-time, memory-efficient deployment by maintaining constant peak inference cost, regardless of video length. The largest variant of MAGI-1 comprises 24 billion parameters and supports context lengths of up to 4 million tokens, demonstrating the scalability and robustness of our approach. AcademiClaw: When Students Set Challenges for AI Agents

Benchmarks within the OpenClaw ecosystem have thus far evaluated exclusively assistant-level tasks, leaving the academic-level capabilities of OpenClaw largely unexamined. We introduce AcademiClaw, a bilingual benchmark of 80 complex, long-horizon tasks sourced directly from university students' real academic workflows -- homework, research projects, competitions, and personal projects -- that they found current AI agents unable to solve effectively. Curated from 230 student-submitted candidates through rigorous expert review, the final task set spans 25+ professional domains, ranging from olympiad-level mathematics and linguistics problems to GPU-intensive reinforcement learning and full-stack system debugging, with 16 tasks requiring CUDA GPU execution. Each task executes in an isolated Docker sandbox and is scored on task completion by multi-dimensional rubrics combining six complementary techniques, with an independent five-category safety audit providing additional behavioral analysis. Experiments on six frontier models show that even the best achieves only a 55\% pass rate. Further analysis uncovers sharp capability boundaries across task domains, divergent behavioral strategies among models, and a disconnect between token consumption and output quality, providing fine-grained diagnostic signals beyond what aggregate metrics reveal. We hope that AcademiClaw and its open-sourced data and code can serve as a useful resource for the OpenClaw community, driving progress toward agents that are more capable and versatile across the full breadth of real-world academic demands. Neutralizing Backdoors through Information Conflicts for Large Language Models

Large language models (LLMs) have seen significant advancements, achieving superior performance in various Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, from understanding to reasoning. However, they remain vulnerable to backdoor attacks, where models behave normally for standard queries but generate harmful responses or unintended output when specific triggers are activated. Existing backdoor defenses often suffer from drawbacks that they either focus on detection without removal, rely on rigid assumptions about trigger properties, or prove to be ineffective against advanced attacks like multi-trigger backdoors. In this paper, we present a novel method to eliminate backdoor behaviors from LLMs through the construction of information conflicts using both internal and external mechanisms. Internally, we leverage a lightweight dataset to train a conflict model, which is then merged with the backdoored model to neutralize malicious behaviors by embedding contradictory information within the model's parametric memory. Externally, we incorporate convincing contradictory evidence into the prompt to challenge the model's internal backdoor knowledge. Experimental results on classification and conversational tasks across 4 widely used LLMs demonstrate that our method outperforms 8 state-of-the-art backdoor defense baselines. We can reduce the attack success rate of advanced backdoor attacks by up to 98% while maintaining over 90% clean data accuracy. Furthermore, our method has proven to be robust against adaptive backdoor attacks. The code will be open-sourced upon publication.

LPM 1.0: Video-based Character Performance Model

Performance, the externalization of intent, emotion, and personality through visual, vocal, and temporal behavior, is what makes a character alive. Learning such performance from video is a promising alternative to traditional 3D pipelines. However, existing video models struggle to jointly achieve high expressiveness, real-time inference, and long-horizon identity stability, a tension we call the performance trilemma. Conversation is the most comprehensive performance scenario, as characters simultaneously speak, listen, react, and emote while maintaining identity over time. To address this, we present LPM 1.0 (Large Performance Model), focusing on single-person full-duplex audio-visual conversational performance. Concretely, we build a multimodal human-centric dataset through strict filtering, speaking-listening audio-video pairing, performance understanding, and identity-aware multi-reference extraction; train a 17B-parameter Diffusion Transformer (Base LPM) for highly controllable, identity-consistent performance through multimodal conditioning; and distill it into a causal streaming generator (Online LPM) for low-latency, infinite-length interaction. At inference, given a character image with identity-aware references, LPM 1.0 generates listening videos from user audio and speaking videos from synthesized audio, with text prompts for motion control, all at real-time speed with identity-stable, infinite-length generation. LPM 1.0 thus serves as a visual engine for conversational agents, live streaming characters, and game NPCs. To systematically evaluate this setting, we propose LPM-Bench, the first benchmark for interactive character performance. LPM 1.0 achieves state-of-the-art results across all evaluated dimensions while maintaining real-time inference.

Beyond Binary: Reframing GUI Critique as Continuous Semantic Alignment

Test-Time Scaling (TTS), which samples multiple candidate actions and ranks them via a Critic Model, has emerged as a promising paradigm for generalist GUI agents. Its efficacy thus hinges on the critic's fine-grained ranking ability. However, existing GUI critic models uniformly adopt binary classification. Our motivational analysis of these models exposes a severe entanglement: scores for valid actions and plausible-but-invalid distractors become indistinguishable. We attribute this failure to two structural defects: Affordance Collapse--the hierarchical affordance space is compressed into 0/1 labels; and Noise Sensitivity--binary objectives overfit to noisy decision boundaries. To resolve this, we introduce BBCritic (Beyond-Binary Critic), a paradigm shift grounded in the Functional Equivalence Hypothesis. Through two-stage contrastive learning, BBCritic aligns instructions and actions in a shared Affordance Space, recovering the hierarchical structure that binary supervision flattens. We also present BBBench (Beyond-Binary Bench), the first GUI critic benchmark that pairs a dense action space with a hierarchical four-level taxonomy, enabling fine-grained ranking evaluation. Experimental results show that BBCritic-3B, trained without any extra annotation, outperforms 7B-parameter SOTA binary models. It demonstrates strong zero-shot transferability across platforms and tasks, supporting our methodological view: GUI critique is fundamentally a metric-learning problem, not a classification one.

Matrix-Free Multigrid with Algebraically Consistent Coarsening on Adaptive Octrees

We present a matrix-free GPU multigrid preconditioner with algebraically consistent coarsening for solving Poisson equations on adaptive octree grids with irregular domains. Within uniform-resolution regions, the coarsening satisfies the Galerkin principle. At T-junctions between refinement levels, we propose a flux-consistent coarse-grid correction that restores cross-level consistency while preserving the compact matrix-free representation. The coarse operators are stored in a compact matrix-free form suitable for parallel execution on GPUs. Numerical experiments demonstrate second-order accuracy, grid-independent convergence when used with PCG, and robust performance on cut-cell problems arising in fluid simulation. On a single NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU, the solver achieves full-solve throughputs above 200 million cells per second on analytical Poisson tests and above 70 million cells per second on pressure projection problems in fluid simulation.

A Few-Step Generative Model on Cumulative Flow Maps

We propose a unified, few-step generative modeling framework based on \emph{cumulative flow maps} for long-range transport in probability space, inspired by flow-map techniques for physical transport and dynamics. At its core is a cumulative-flow abstraction that connects local, instantaneous updates with finite-time transport, enabling generative models to reason about global state transitions. This perspective yields a unified few-step framework built on cumulative transport and \revise{cumulative} parameterization that applies broadly to existing diffusion- and flow-based models without being tied to a specific prediction \revise{instantiation}. Our formulation supports few-step and even one-step generation while preserving synthesis quality, requiring only minimal changes to time embeddings and training objectives, and no increase in model capacity. We demonstrate its effectiveness across diverse tasks, including image generation, geometric distribution modeling, joint prediction, and SDF generation, with reduced inference cost.

GUI-Xplore: Empowering Generalizable GUI Agents with One Exploration

GUI agents hold significant potential to enhance the experience and efficiency of human-device interaction. However, current methods face challenges in generalizing across applications (apps) and tasks, primarily due to two fundamental limitations in existing datasets. First, these datasets overlook developer-induced structural variations among apps, limiting the transferability of knowledge across diverse software environments. Second, many of them focus solely on navigation tasks, which restricts their capacity to represent comprehensive software architectures and complex user interactions. To address these challenges, we introduce GUI-Xplore, a dataset meticulously designed to enhance cross-application and cross-task generalization via an exploration-and-reasoning framework. GUI-Xplore integrates pre-recorded exploration videos providing contextual insights, alongside five hierarchically structured downstream tasks designed to comprehensively evaluate GUI agent capabilities. To fully exploit GUI-Xplore's unique features, we propose Xplore-Agent, a GUI agent framework that combines Action-aware GUI Modeling with Graph-Guided Environment Reasoning. Further experiments indicate that Xplore-Agent achieves a 10% improvement over existing methods in unfamiliar environments, yet there remains significant potential for further enhancement towards truly generalizable GUI agents.

NeuralFluid: Neural Fluidic System Design and Control with Differentiable Simulation

We present a novel framework to explore neural control and design of complex fluidic systems with dynamic solid boundaries. Our system features a fast differentiable Navier-Stokes solver with solid-fluid interface handling, a low-dimensional differentiable parametric geometry representation, a control-shape co-design algorithm, and gym-like simulation environments to facilitate various fluidic control design applications. Additionally, we present a benchmark of design, control, and learning tasks on high-fidelity, high-resolution dynamic fluid environments that pose challenges for existing differentiable fluid simulators. These tasks include designing the control of artificial hearts, identifying robotic end-effector shapes, and controlling a fluid gate. By seamlessly incorporating our differentiable fluid simulator into a learning framework, we demonstrate successful design, control, and learning results that surpass gradient-free solutions in these benchmark tasks.

Functional Mean Flow in Hilbert Space

We present Functional Mean Flow (FMF) as a one-step generative model defined in infinite-dimensional Hilbert space. FMF extends the one-step Mean Flow framework to functional domains by providing a theoretical formulation for Functional Flow Matching and a practical implementation for efficient training and sampling. We also introduce an $x_1$-prediction variant that improves stability over the original $u$-prediction form. The resulting framework is a practical one-step Flow Matching method applicable to a wide range of functional data generation tasks such as time series, images, PDEs, and 3D geometry.

Fine-Tuning Vision-Language Models for Visual Navigation Assistance

We address vision-language-driven indoor navigation to assist visually impaired individuals in reaching a target location using images and natural language guidance. Traditional navigation systems are ineffective indoors due to the lack of precise location data. Our approach integrates vision and language models to generate step-by-step navigational instructions, enhancing accessibility and independence. We fine-tune the BLIP-2 model with Low Rank Adaptation (LoRA) on a manually annotated indoor navigation dataset. We propose an evaluation metric that refines the BERT F1 score by emphasizing directional and sequential variables, providing a more comprehensive measure of navigational performance. After applying LoRA, the model significantly improved in generating directional instructions, overcoming limitations in the original BLIP-2 model.

Lethe: Purifying Backdoored Large Language Models with Knowledge Dilution

Large language models (LLMs) have seen significant advancements, achieving superior performance in various Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. However, they remain vulnerable to backdoor attacks, where models behave normally for standard queries but generate harmful responses or unintended output when specific triggers are activated. Existing backdoor defenses either lack comprehensiveness, focusing on narrow trigger settings, detection-only mechanisms, and limited domains, or fail to withstand advanced scenarios like model-editing-based, multi-trigger, and triggerless attacks. In this paper, we present LETHE, a novel method to eliminate backdoor behaviors from LLMs through knowledge dilution using both internal and external mechanisms. Internally, LETHE leverages a lightweight dataset to train a clean model, which is then merged with the backdoored model to neutralize malicious behaviors by diluting the backdoor impact within the model's parametric memory. Externally, LETHE incorporates benign and semantically relevant evidence into the prompt to distract LLM's attention from backdoor features. Experimental results on classification and generation domains across 5 widely used LLMs demonstrate that LETHE outperforms 8 state-of-the-art defense baselines against 8 backdoor attacks. LETHE reduces the attack success rate of advanced backdoor attacks by up to 98% while maintaining model utility. Furthermore, LETHE has proven to be cost-efficient and robust against adaptive backdoor attacks.

GLOMIA-Pro: A Generalizable Longitudinal Medical Image Analysis Framework for Disease Progression Prediction

Longitudinal medical images are essential for monitoring disease progression by capturing spatiotemporal changes associated with dynamic biological processes. While current methods have made progress in modeling spatiotemporal patterns, they face three key limitations: (1) lack of generalizable framework applicable to diverse disease progression prediction tasks; (2) frequent overlook of the ordinal nature inherent in disease staging; (3) susceptibility to representation collapse due to structural similarities between adjacent time points, which can obscure subtle but discriminative progression biomarkers. To address these limitations, we propose a Generalizable LOngitudinal Medical Image Analysis framework for disease Progression prediction (GLOMIA-Pro). GLOMIA-Pro consists of two core components: progression representation extraction and progression-aware fusion. The progression representation extraction module introduces a piecewise orthogonal attention mechanism and employs a novel ordinal progression constraint to disentangle finegrained temporal imaging variations relevant to disease progression. The progression-aware fusion module incorporates a redesigned skip connection architecture which integrates the learned progression representation with current imaging representation, effectively mitigating representation collapse during cross-temporal fusion. Validated on two distinct clinical applications: knee osteoarthritis severity prediction and esophageal cancer treatment response assessment, GLOMIA-Pro consistently outperforms seven state-of-the-art longitudinal analysis methods. Ablation studies further confirm the contribution of individual components, demonstrating the robustness and generalizability of GLOMIA-Pro across diverse clinical scenarios.

EDGE: Unknown-aware Multi-label Learning by Energy Distribution Gap Expansion

Multi-label Out-Of-Distribution (OOD) detection aims to discriminate the OOD samples from the multi-label In-Distribution (ID) ones. Compared with its multiclass counterpart, it is crucial to model the joint information among classes. To this end, JointEnergy, which is a representative multi-label OOD inference criterion, summarizes the logits of all the classes. However, we find that JointEnergy can produce an imbalance problem in OOD detection, especially when the model lacks enough discrimination ability. Specifically, we find that the samples only related to minority classes tend to be classified as OOD samples due to the ambiguous energy decision boundary. Besides, imbalanced multi-label learning methods, originally designed for ID ones, would not be suitable for OOD detection scenarios, even producing a serious negative transfer effect. In this paper, we resort to auxiliary outlier exposure (OE) and propose an unknown-aware multi-label learning framework to reshape the uncertainty energy space layout. In this framework, the energy score is separately optimized for tail ID samples and unknown samples, and the energy distribution gap between them is expanded, such that the tail ID samples can have a significantly larger energy score than the OOD ones. What's more, a simple yet effective measure is designed to select more informative OE datasets. Finally, comprehensive experimental results on multiple multi-label and OOD datasets reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Can Graph Neural Networks Learn to Solve MaxSAT Problem?

With the rapid development of deep learning techniques, various recent work has tried to apply graph neural networks (GNNs) to solve NP-hard problems such as Boolean Satisfiability (SAT), which shows the potential in bridging the gap between machine learning and symbolic reasoning. However, the quality of solutions predicted by GNNs has not been well investigated in the literature. In this paper, we study the capability of GNNs in learning to solve Maximum Satisfiability (MaxSAT) problem, both from theoretical and practical perspectives. We build two kinds of GNN models to learn the solution of MaxSAT instances from benchmarks, and show that GNNs have attractive potential to solve MaxSAT problem through experimental evaluation. We also present a theoretical explanation of the effect that GNNs can learn to solve MaxSAT problem to some extent for the first time, based on the algorithmic alignment theory.

An Efficient Generation Method based on Dynamic Curvature of the Reference Curve for Robust Trajectory Planning

Trajectory planning is a fundamental task on various autonomous driving platforms, such as social robotics and self-driving cars. Many trajectory planning algorithms use a reference curve based Frenet frame with time to reduce the planning dimension. However, there is a common implicit assumption in classic trajectory planning approaches, which is that the generated trajectory should follow the reference curve continuously. This assumption is not always true in real applications and it might cause some undesired issues in planning. One issue is that the projection of the planned trajectory onto the reference curve maybe discontinuous. Then, some segments on the reference curve are not the image of any part of the planned path. Another issue is that the planned path might self-intersect when following a simple reference curve continuously. The generated trajectories are unnatural and suboptimal ones when these issues happen. In this paper, we firstly demonstrate these issues and then introduce an efficient trajectory generation method which uses a new transformation from the Cartesian frame to Frenet frames. Experimental results on a simulated street scenario demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method.
