FS6D: Few-Shot 6D Pose Estimation of Novel ObjectsYisheng He, Yao Wang, Haoqiang Fan et al.
6D object pose estimation networks are limited in their capability to scale to large numbers of object instances due to the close-set assumption and their reliance on high-fidelity object CAD models. In this work, we study a new open set problem; the few-shot 6D object poses estimation: estimating the 6D pose of an unknown object by a few support views without extra training. To tackle the problem, we point out the importance of fully exploring the appearance and geometric relationship between the given support views and query scene patches and propose a dense prototypes matching framework by extracting and matching dense RGBD prototypes with transformers. Moreover, we show that the priors from diverse appearances and shapes are crucial to the generalization capability under the problem setting and thus propose a large-scale RGBD photorealistic dataset (ShapeNet6D) for network pre-training. A simple and effective online texture blending approach is also introduced to eliminate the domain gap from the synthesis dataset, which enriches appearance diversity at a low cost. Finally, we discuss possible solutions to this problem and establish benchmarks on popular datasets to facilitate future research. The project page is at \url{https://fs6d.github.io/}.

Towards Self-Supervised Category-Level Object Pose and Size EstimationYisheng He, Haoqiang Fan, Haibin Huang et al.
In this work, we tackle the challenging problem of category-level object pose and size estimation from a single depth image. Although previous fully-supervised works have demonstrated promising performance, collecting ground-truth pose labels is generally time-consuming and labor-intensive. Instead, we propose a label-free method that learns to enforce the geometric consistency between category template mesh and observed object point cloud under a self-supervision manner. Specifically, our method consists of three key components: differentiable shape deformation, registration, and rendering. In particular, shape deformation and registration are applied to the template mesh to eliminate the differences in shape, pose and scale. A differentiable renderer is then deployed to enforce geometric consistency between point clouds lifted from the rendered depth and the observed scene for self-supervision. We evaluate our approach on real-world datasets and find that our approach outperforms the simple traditional baseline by large margins while being competitive with some fully-supervised approaches.

Large Depth Completion Model from Sparse ObservationsZhu Yu, Zhengyi Zhao, Runmin Zhang et al.
This work presents the Large Depth Completion Model (LDCM), a simple, effective, and robust framework for single-view metric depth estimation with sparse observations. Without relying on complex architectural designs, LDCM generates metric-accurate dense depth maps using a transformer. It outperforms existing approaches across diverse datasets and sparse observations. We achieve this from two key perspectives: (1) leveraging existing monocular foundation models to improve the quality of sparse depth inputs, and (2) reformulating training objectives to better capture geometric structure and metric consistency. Specifically, a Poisson-based depth initialization strategy is first introduced to generate a uniform coarse dense depth map from diverse sparse observations, providing a strong structural prior for the network. Regarding the training objective, we replace the conventional depth head with a point map head that regresses per-pixel 3D coordinates in camera space, enabling the model to directly learn the underlying 3D scene structure instead of performing pixel-wise depth map restoration. Moreover, this design eliminates the need for camera intrinsic parameters, allowing LDCM to naturally produce metric-scaled 3D point maps. Extensive experiments demonstrate that LDCM consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods across multiple benchmarks and varying sparsity levels in both depth completion and point map estimation, showcasing its effectiveness and strong generalization to unseen data distributions.

MeshLAM: Feed-Forward One-Shot Animatable Textured Mesh Avatar ReconstructionYisheng He, Steven Hoi
We introduce MeshLAM, a feed-forward framework for one-shot animatable mesh head reconstruction that generates high-fidelity, animatable 3D head avatars from a single image. Unlike previous work that relies on time-consuming test-time optimization or extensive multi-view data, our method produces complete mesh representations with inherent animatability from a single image in a single forward pass. Our approach employs a dual shape and texture map architecture that simultaneously processes mesh vertices and texture map with extracted image features from a shared transformer backbone, allowing for coherent shape carving and appearance modeling. To prevent mesh collapse and ensure topological integrity during feed-forward deformation, we propose an iterative GRU-based decoding mechanism with progressive geometry deformation and texture refinement, coupled with a novel reprojection-based texture guidance mechanism that anchors appearance learning to the input image. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in reconstruction quality, animation capability, and computational efficiency. LAM: Large Avatar Model for One-shot Animatable Gaussian HeadYisheng He, Xiaodong Gu, Xiaodan Ye et al.
We present LAM, an innovative Large Avatar Model for animatable Gaussian head reconstruction from a single image. Unlike previous methods that require extensive training on captured video sequences or rely on auxiliary neural networks for animation and rendering during inference, our approach generates Gaussian heads that are immediately animatable and renderable. Specifically, LAM creates an animatable Gaussian head in a single forward pass, enabling reenactment and rendering without additional networks or post-processing steps. This capability allows for seamless integration into existing rendering pipelines, ensuring real-time animation and rendering across a wide range of platforms, including mobile phones. The centerpiece of our framework is the canonical Gaussian attributes generator, which utilizes FLAME canonical points as queries. These points interact with multi-scale image features through a Transformer to accurately predict Gaussian attributes in the canonical space. The reconstructed canonical Gaussian avatar can then be animated utilizing standard linear blend skinning (LBS) with corrective blendshapes as the FLAME model did and rendered in real-time on various platforms. Our experimental results demonstrate that LAM outperforms state-of-the-art methods on existing benchmarks. Our code and video are available at https://aigc3d.github.io/projects/LAM/
FFB6D: A Full Flow Bidirectional Fusion Network for 6D Pose EstimationYisheng He, Haibin Huang, Haoqiang Fan et al.
In this work, we present FFB6D, a Full Flow Bidirectional fusion network designed for 6D pose estimation from a single RGBD image. Our key insight is that appearance information in the RGB image and geometry information from the depth image are two complementary data sources, and it still remains unknown how to fully leverage them. Towards this end, we propose FFB6D, which learns to combine appearance and geometry information for representation learning as well as output representation selection. Specifically, at the representation learning stage, we build bidirectional fusion modules in the full flow of the two networks, where fusion is applied to each encoding and decoding layer. In this way, the two networks can leverage local and global complementary information from the other one to obtain better representations. Moreover, at the output representation stage, we designed a simple but effective 3D keypoints selection algorithm considering the texture and geometry information of objects, which simplifies keypoint localization for precise pose estimation. Experimental results show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art by large margins on several benchmarks. Code and video are available at \url{https://github.com/ethnhe/FFB6D.git}.
PVN3D: A Deep Point-wise 3D Keypoints Voting Network for 6DoF Pose EstimationYisheng He, Wei Sun, Haibin Huang et al.
In this work, we present a novel data-driven method for robust 6DoF object pose estimation from a single RGBD image. Unlike previous methods that directly regressing pose parameters, we tackle this challenging task with a keypoint-based approach. Specifically, we propose a deep Hough voting network to detect 3D keypoints of objects and then estimate the 6D pose parameters within a least-squares fitting manner. Our method is a natural extension of 2D-keypoint approaches that successfully work on RGB based 6DoF estimation. It allows us to fully utilize the geometric constraint of rigid objects with the extra depth information and is easy for a network to learn and optimize. Extensive experiments were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of 3D-keypoint detection in the 6D pose estimation task. Experimental results also show our method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by large margins on several benchmarks. Code and video are available at https://github.com/ethnhe/PVN3D.git.

CoProSketch: Controllable and Progressive Sketch Generation with Diffusion ModelRuohao Zhan, Yijin Li, Yisheng He et al.
Sketches serve as fundamental blueprints in artistic creation because sketch editing is easier and more intuitive than pixel-level RGB image editing for painting artists, yet sketch generation remains unexplored despite advancements in generative models. We propose a novel framework CoProSketch, providing prominent controllability and details for sketch generation with diffusion models. A straightforward method is fine-tuning a pretrained image generation diffusion model with binarized sketch images. However, we find that the diffusion models fail to generate clear binary images, which makes the produced sketches chaotic. We thus propose to represent the sketches by unsigned distance field (UDF), which is continuous and can be easily decoded to sketches through a lightweight network. With CoProSketch, users generate a rough sketch from a bounding box and a text prompt. The rough sketch can be manually edited and fed back into the model for iterative refinement and will be decoded to a detailed sketch as the final result. Additionally, we curate the first large-scale text-sketch paired dataset as the training data. Experiments demonstrate superior semantic consistency and controllability over baselines, offering a practical solution for integrating user feedback into generative workflows.

PanoLAM: Large Avatar Model for Gaussian Full-Head Synthesis from One-shot Unposed ImagePeng Li, Yisheng He, Yingdong Hu et al.
We present a feed-forward framework for Gaussian full-head synthesis from a single unposed image. Unlike previous work that relies on time-consuming GAN inversion and test-time optimization, our framework can reconstruct the Gaussian full-head model given a single unposed image in a single forward pass. This enables fast reconstruction and rendering during inference. To mitigate the lack of large-scale 3D head assets, we propose a large-scale synthetic dataset from trained 3D GANs and train our framework using only synthetic data. For efficient high-fidelity generation, we introduce a coarse-to-fine Gaussian head generation pipeline, where sparse points from the FLAME model interact with the image features by transformer blocks for feature extraction and coarse shape reconstruction, which are then densified for high-fidelity reconstruction. To fully leverage the prior knowledge residing in pretrained 3D GANs for effective reconstruction, we propose a dual-branch framework that effectively aggregates the structured spherical triplane feature and unstructured point-based features for more effective Gaussian head reconstruction. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our framework towards existing work. Project page at: https://panolam.github.io/.

OV9D: Open-Vocabulary Category-Level 9D Object Pose and Size EstimationJunhao Cai, Yisheng He, Weihao Yuan et al.
This paper studies a new open-set problem, the open-vocabulary category-level object pose and size estimation. Given human text descriptions of arbitrary novel object categories, the robot agent seeks to predict the position, orientation, and size of the target object in the observed scene image. To enable such generalizability, we first introduce OO3D-9D, a large-scale photorealistic dataset for this task. Derived from OmniObject3D, OO3D-9D is the largest and most diverse dataset in the field of category-level object pose and size estimation. It includes additional annotations for the symmetry axis of each category, which help resolve symmetric ambiguity. Apart from the large-scale dataset, we find another key to enabling such generalizability is leveraging the strong prior knowledge in pre-trained visual-language foundation models. We then propose a framework built on pre-trained DinoV2 and text-to-image stable diffusion models to infer the normalized object coordinate space (NOCS) maps of the target instances. This framework fully leverages the visual semantic prior from DinoV2 and the aligned visual and language knowledge within the text-to-image diffusion model, which enables generalization to various text descriptions of novel categories. Comprehensive quantitative and qualitative experiments demonstrate that the proposed open-vocabulary method, trained on our large-scale synthesized data, significantly outperforms the baseline and can effectively generalize to real-world images of unseen categories. Sketch2NeRF: Multi-view Sketch-guided Text-to-3D GenerationMinglin Chen, Weihao Yuan, Yukun Wang et al.
Recently, text-to-3D approaches have achieved high-fidelity 3D content generation using text description. However, the generated objects are stochastic and lack fine-grained control. Sketches provide a cheap approach to introduce such fine-grained control. Nevertheless, it is challenging to achieve flexible control from these sketches due to their abstraction and ambiguity. In this paper, we present a multi-view sketch-guided text-to-3D generation framework (namely, Sketch2NeRF) to add sketch control to 3D generation. Specifically, our method leverages pretrained 2D diffusion models (e.g., Stable Diffusion and ControlNet) to supervise the optimization of a 3D scene represented by a neural radiance field (NeRF). We propose a novel synchronized generation and reconstruction method to effectively optimize the NeRF. In the experiments, we collected two kinds of multi-view sketch datasets to evaluate the proposed method. We demonstrate that our method can synthesize 3D consistent contents with fine-grained sketch control while being high-fidelity to text prompts. Extensive results show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in terms of sketch similarity and text alignment.

iShape: A First Step Towards Irregular Shape Instance SegmentationLei Yang, Yan Zi Wei, Yisheng HE et al.
In this paper, we introduce a brand new dataset to promote the study of instance segmentation for objects with irregular shapes. Our key observation is that though irregularly shaped objects widely exist in daily life and industrial scenarios, they received little attention in the instance segmentation field due to the lack of corresponding datasets. To fill this gap, we propose iShape, an irregular shape dataset for instance segmentation. iShape contains six sub-datasets with one real and five synthetics, each represents a scene of a typical irregular shape. Unlike most existing instance segmentation datasets of regular objects, iShape has many characteristics that challenge existing instance segmentation algorithms, such as large overlaps between bounding boxes of instances, extreme aspect ratios, and large numbers of connected components per instance. We benchmark popular instance segmentation methods on iShape and find their performance drop dramatically. Hence, we propose an affinity-based instance segmentation algorithm, called ASIS, as a stronger baseline. ASIS explicitly combines perception and reasoning to solve Arbitrary Shape Instance Segmentation including irregular objects. Experimental results show that ASIS outperforms the state-of-the-art on iShape. Dataset and code are available at https://ishape.github.io
