Image Blending Algorithm with Automatic Mask GenerationHaochen Xue, Mingyu Jin, Chong Zhang et al.
In recent years, image blending has gained popularity for its ability to create visually stunning content. However, the current image blending algorithms mainly have the following problems: manually creating image blending masks requires a lot of manpower and material resources; image blending algorithms cannot effectively solve the problems of brightness distortion and low resolution. To this end, we propose a new image blending method with automatic mask generation: it combines semantic object detection and segmentation with mask generation to achieve deep blended images based on our proposed new saturation loss and two-stage iteration of the PAN algorithm to fix brightness distortion and low-resolution issues. Results on publicly available datasets show that our method outperforms other classical image blending algorithms on various performance metrics, including PSNR and SSIM.

Target-driven Attack for Large Language ModelsChong Zhang, Mingyu Jin, Dong Shu et al.
Current large language models (LLM) provide a strong foundation for large-scale user-oriented natural language tasks. Many users can easily inject adversarial text or instructions through the user interface, thus causing LLM model security challenges like the language model not giving the correct answer. Although there is currently a large amount of research on black-box attacks, most of these black-box attacks use random and heuristic strategies. It is unclear how these strategies relate to the success rate of attacks and thus effectively improve model robustness. To solve this problem, we propose our target-driven black-box attack method to maximize the KL divergence between the conditional probabilities of the clean text and the attack text to redefine the attack's goal. We transform the distance maximization problem into two convex optimization problems based on the attack goal to solve the attack text and estimate the covariance. Furthermore, the projected gradient descent algorithm solves the vector corresponding to the attack text. Our target-driven black-box attack approach includes two attack strategies: token manipulation and misinformation attack. Experimental results on multiple Large Language Models and datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our attack method.

Efficient Column Generation for Cell Detection and SegmentationChong Zhang, Shaofei Wang, Miguel A. Gonzalez-Ballester et al.
We study the problem of instance segmentation in biological images with crowded and compact cells. We formulate this task as an integer program where variables correspond to cells and constraints enforce that cells do not overlap. To solve this integer program, we propose a column generation formulation where the pricing program is solved via exact optimization of very small scale integer programs. Column generation is tightened using odd set inequalities which fit elegantly into pricing problem optimization. Our column generation approach achieves fast stable anytime inference for our instance segmentation problems. We demonstrate on three distinct light microscopy datasets, with several hundred cells each, that our proposed algorithm rapidly achieves or exceeds state of the art accuracy.
