Ada-KV: Optimizing KV Cache Eviction by Adaptive Budget Allocation for Efficient LLM Inference

Large Language Models have excelled in various domains but face efficiency challenges due to the growing Key-Value (KV) cache required for long-sequence inference. Recent efforts aim to reduce KV cache size by evicting vast non-critical cache elements during runtime while preserving generation quality. However, these methods typically allocate compression budgets uniformly across all attention heads, ignoring the unique attention patterns of each head. In this paper, we establish a theoretical loss upper bound between pre- and post-eviction attention output, explaining the optimization target of prior cache eviction methods, while guiding the optimization of adaptive budget allocation. Base on this, we propose {\it Ada-KV}, the first head-wise adaptive budget allocation strategy. It offers plug-and-play benefits, enabling seamless integration with prior cache eviction methods. Extensive evaluations on 13 datasets from Ruler and 16 datasets from LongBench, all conducted under both question-aware and question-agnostic scenarios, demonstrate substantial quality improvements over existing methods. A Long Short-term Memory Based Recurrent Neural Network for Interventional MRI Reconstruction

Interventional magnetic resonance imaging (i-MRI) for surgical guidance could help visualize the interventional process such as deep brain stimulation (DBS), improving the surgery performance and patient outcome. Different from retrospective reconstruction in conventional dynamic imaging, i-MRI for DBS has to acquire and reconstruct the interventional images sequentially online. Here we proposed a convolutional long short-term memory (Conv-LSTM) based recurrent neural network (RNN), or ConvLR, to reconstruct interventional images with golden-angle radial sampling. By using an initializer and Conv-LSTM blocks, the priors from the pre-operative reference image and intra-operative frames were exploited for reconstructing the current frame. Data consistency for radial sampling was implemented by a soft-projection method. To improve the reconstruction accuracy, an adversarial learning strategy was adopted. A set of interventional images based on the pre-operative and post-operative MR images were simulated for algorithm validation. Results showed with only 10 radial spokes, ConvLR provided the best performance compared with state-of-the-art methods, giving an acceleration up to 40 folds. The proposed algorithm has the potential to achieve real-time i-MRI for DBS and can be used for general purpose MR-guided intervention.

The 2nd Workshop on Maritime Computer Vision (MaCVi) 2024

The 2nd Workshop on Maritime Computer Vision (MaCVi) 2024 addresses maritime computer vision for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV). Three challenges categories are considered: (i) UAV-based Maritime Object Tracking with Re-identification, (ii) USV-based Maritime Obstacle Segmentation and Detection, (iii) USV-based Maritime Boat Tracking. The USV-based Maritime Obstacle Segmentation and Detection features three sub-challenges, including a new embedded challenge addressing efficicent inference on real-world embedded devices. This report offers a comprehensive overview of the findings from the challenges. We provide both statistical and qualitative analyses, evaluating trends from over 195 submissions. 4th Workshop on Maritime Computer Vision (MaCVi): Challenge Overview

The 4th Workshop on Maritime Computer Vision (MaCVi) is organized as part of CVPR 2026. This edition features five benchmark challenges with emphasis on both predictive accuracy and embedded real-time feasibility. This report summarizes the MaCVi 2026 challenge setup, evaluation protocols, datasets, and benchmark tracks, and presents quantitative results, qualitative comparisons, and cross-challenge analyses of emerging method trends. We also include technical reports from top-performing teams to highlight practical design choices and lessons learned across the benchmark suite. EvoDiagram: Agentic Editable Diagram Creation via Design Expertise Evolution

High-fidelity diagram creation requires the complex orchestration of semantic topology, visual styling, and spatial layout, posing a significant challenge for automated systems. Existing methods also suffer from a representation gap: pixel-based models often lack precise control, while code-based synthesis limits intuitive flexibility. To bridge this gap, we introduce EvoDiagram, an agentic framework that generates object-level editable diagrams via an intermediate canvas schema. EvoDiagram employs a coordinated multi-agent system to decouple semantic intent from rendering logic, resolving conflicts across heterogeneous design layers. Additionally, we propose a design knowledge evolution mechanism that distills execution traces into a hierarchical memory of domain guidelines, enabling agents to retrieve context-aware expertise adaptively. We further release CanvasBench, a benchmark consisting of both data and metrics for canvas-based diagramming. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EvoDiagram exhibits excellent performance and balance against baselines in generating editable, structurally consistent, and aesthetically coherent diagrams. Social Robots for People Living with Dementia: A Scoping Review on Deception from Design to Perception

As social robots are increasingly introduced into dementia care, their embodied and interactive design may blur the boundary between artificial and lifelike entities, raising ethical concerns about robotic deception. However, it remains unclear which specific design cues of social robots might lead to social robotic deception (SRD) in people living with dementia (PLwD), and which perceptions and responses of PLwD might indicate that SRD is taking place. To address these questions, we conducted a scoping review of 26 empirical studies reporting PLwD interacting with social robots. We identified three key design cue categories that might contribute to SRD and one that might break the illusion. However, the available literature does not provide sufficient evidence to determine which specific design cues lead to SRD. Thematic analysis of user responses reveals six recurring patterns in how PLwD perceive and respond to social robots. However, conceptual limitations in existing definitions of robotic deception make it difficult to identify when and to what extent deception actually occurs. Building on the results, we propose a dual-process interpretation that clarifies the cognitive basis of false beliefs in human-robot interaction and distinguishes SRD from anthropomorphism or emotional engagement.

AttMEMO : Accelerating Transformers with Memoization on Big Memory Systems

Transformer models gain popularity because of their superior inference accuracy and inference throughput. However, the transformer is computation-intensive, causing a long inference time. The existing works on transformer inference acceleration have limitations caused by either the modification of transformer architectures or the need of specialized hardware. In this paper, we identify the opportunities of using memoization to accelerate the self-attention mechanism in transformers without the above limitations. Built upon a unique observation that there is rich similarity in attention computation across inference sequences, we build a memoization database that leverages the emerging big memory system. We introduce a novel embedding technique to find semantically similar inputs to identify computation similarity. We also introduce a series of techniques such as memory mapping and selective memoization to avoid memory copy and unnecessary overhead. We enable 22% inference-latency reduction on average (up to 68%) with negligible loss in inference accuracy.

Takin: A Cohort of Superior Quality Zero-shot Speech Generation Models

With the advent of the big data and large language model era, zero-shot personalized rapid customization has emerged as a significant trend. In this report, we introduce Takin AudioLLM, a series of techniques and models, mainly including Takin TTS, Takin VC, and Takin Morphing, specifically designed for audiobook production. These models are capable of zero-shot speech production, generating high-quality speech that is nearly indistinguishable from real human speech and facilitating individuals to customize the speech content according to their own needs. Specifically, we first introduce Takin TTS, a neural codec language model that builds upon an enhanced neural speech codec and a multi-task training framework, capable of generating high-fidelity natural speech in a zero-shot way. For Takin VC, we advocate an effective content and timbre joint modeling approach to improve the speaker similarity, while advocating for a conditional flow matching based decoder to further enhance its naturalness and expressiveness. Last, we propose the Takin Morphing system with highly decoupled and advanced timbre and prosody modeling approaches, which enables individuals to customize speech production with their preferred timbre and prosody in a precise and controllable manner. Asymmetric Dual-Decoder U-Net for Joint Rain and Haze Removal

This work studies the joint rain and haze removal problem. In real-life scenarios, rain and haze, two often co-occurring common weather phenomena, can greatly degrade the clarity and quality of the scene images, leading to a performance drop in the visual applications, such as autonomous driving. However, jointly removing the rain and haze in scene images is ill-posed and challenging, where the existence of haze and rain and the change of atmosphere light, can both degrade the scene information. Current methods focus on the contamination removal part, thus ignoring the restoration of the scene information affected by the change of atmospheric light. We propose a novel deep neural network, named Asymmetric Dual-decoder U-Net (ADU-Net), to address the aforementioned challenge. The ADU-Net produces both the contamination residual and the scene residual to efficiently remove the rain and haze while preserving the fidelity of the scene information. Extensive experiments show our work outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods by a considerable margin in both synthetic data and real-world data benchmarks, including RainCityscapes, BID Rain, and SPA-Data. For instance, we improve the state-of-the-art PSNR value by 2.26/4.57 on the RainCityscapes/SPA-Data, respectively. Codes will be made available freely to the research community.

Revealing Secrets From Pre-trained Models

With the growing burden of training deep learning models with large data sets, transfer-learning has been widely adopted in many emerging deep learning algorithms. Transformer models such as BERT are the main player in natural language processing and use transfer-learning as a de facto standard training method. A few big data companies release pre-trained models that are trained with a few popular datasets with which end users and researchers fine-tune the model with their own datasets. Transfer-learning significantly reduces the time and effort of training models. However, it comes at the cost of security concerns. In this paper, we show a new observation that pre-trained models and fine-tuned models have significantly high similarities in weight values. Also, we demonstrate that there exist vendor-specific computing patterns even for the same models. With these new findings, we propose a new model extraction attack that reveals the model architecture and the pre-trained model used by the black-box victim model with vendor-specific computing patterns and then estimates the entire model weights based on the weight value similarities between the fine-tuned model and pre-trained model. We also show that the weight similarity can be leveraged for increasing the model extraction feasibility through a novel weight extraction pruning.

Two Views of Constrained Differential Privacy: Belief Revision and Update

In this paper, we provide two views of constrained differential private (DP) mechanisms. The first one is as belief revision. A constrained DP mechanism is obtained by standard probabilistic conditioning, and hence can be naturally implemented by Monte Carlo algorithms. The other is as belief update. A constrained DP is defined according to l2-distance minimization postprocessing or projection and hence can be naturally implemented by optimization algorithms. The main advantage of these two perspectives is that we can make full use of the machinery of belief revision and update to show basic properties for constrained differential privacy especially some important new composition properties. Within the framework established in this paper, constrained DP algorithms in the literature can be classified either as belief revision or belief update. At the end of the paper, we demonstrate their differences especially in utility in a couple of scenarios.

CritiPrefill: A Segment-wise Criticality-based Approach for Prefilling Acceleration in LLMs

Large language models have achieved notable success across various domains, yet efficient inference is still limited by the quadratic computation complexity of the attention mechanism. The inference consists of prefilling and decoding phases. Although several attempts have been made to accelerate decoding, the inefficiency of the prefilling phase, especially for long-context tasks, remains a challenge. In this paper, we observe a locality in query criticality during the prefilling phase of long-context processing: adjacent query tokens tend to focus on similar subsets of the past Key-Value (KV) cache. Based on this observation, we propose CritiPrefill, a criticality-based segment-wise prefilling method. This method partitions the input sequence's queries and KV cache into segments and blocks, utilizing a segment-wise algorithm to estimate the query criticality. By pruning non-critical computations between query segments and cache blocks in the self-attention mechanism, the prefilling process can be significantly accelerated. Extensive evaluations on multiple long-context datasets show up to 2.7x speedup on Llama3-8B and 3.0x speedup on Yi-9B for 128K context length on a single A100 GPU, with minimal quality degradation.

GeoBench: Rethinking Multimodal Geometric Problem-Solving via Hierarchical Evaluation

Geometric problem solving constitutes a critical branch of mathematical reasoning, requiring precise analysis of shapes and spatial relationships. Current evaluations of geometric reasoning in vision-language models (VLMs) face limitations, including the risk of test data contamination from textbook-based benchmarks, overemphasis on final answers over reasoning processes, and insufficient diagnostic granularity. To address these issues, we present GeoBench, a hierarchical benchmark featuring four reasoning levels in geometric problem-solving: Visual Perception, Goal-Oriented Planning, Rigorous Theorem Application, and Self-Reflective Backtracking. Through six formally verified tasks generated via TrustGeoGen, we systematically assess capabilities ranging from attribute extraction to logical error correction. Experiments reveal that while reasoning models like OpenAI-o3 outperform general MLLMs, performance declines significantly with increasing task complexity. Key findings demonstrate that sub-goal decomposition and irrelevant premise filtering critically influence final problem-solving accuracy, whereas Chain-of-Thought prompting unexpectedly degrades performance in some tasks. These findings establish GeoBench as a comprehensive benchmark while offering actionable guidelines for developing geometric problem-solving systems.

Milestones over Outcome: Unlocking Geometric Reasoning with Sub-Goal Verifiable Reward

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) struggle with complex geometric reasoning, largely because "black box" outcome-based supervision fails to distinguish between lucky guesses and rigorous deduction. To address this, we introduce a paradigm shift towards subgoal-level evaluation and learning. We first construct GeoGoal, a benchmark synthesized via a rigorous formal verification data engine, which converts abstract proofs into verifiable numeric subgoals. This structure reveals a critical divergence between reasoning quality and outcome accuracy. Leveraging this, we propose the Sub-Goal Verifiable Reward (SGVR) framework, which replaces sparse signals with dense rewards based on the Skeleton Rate. Experiments demonstrate that SGVR not only enhances geometric performance (+9.7%) but also exhibits strong generalization, transferring gains to general math (+8.0%) and other general reasoning tasks (+2.8%), demonstrating broad applicability across diverse domains.

Taming the Fragility of KV Cache Eviction in LLM Inference

Large language models have revolutionized natural language processing, yet their deployment remains hampered by the substantial memory and runtime overhead of the transformer's Key-Value cache. To mitigate this, recent methods employ a scoring-aggregation framework to evict unimportant cache entries, based on the stability assumption-that a fixed subset of entries remains consistently important during generation. However, prior work has largely focused on refining importance indicators for scoring, while defaulting to mean aggregation due to a faithful trust in the stability assumption. In this work, we argue that this underlying assumption is inherently fragile, making mean aggregation highly vulnerable in extreme cases. To counter this, we propose a simple yet elegant defensive aggregation strategy: a two-step, linear-time approach that controls worst-case risk, thereby defending against extreme cases with negligible computational overhead. Embodying this strategy, we propose a novel cache eviction method, DefensiveKV and its extension, Layer-DefensiveKV, which incorporates layer-wise budget allocation. Across seven task domains (18 datasets), our methods reduce generation quality loss by 2.3x and 4.3x respectively, versus the strongest baseline under a 20% cache size. These results set new performance benchmarks and pioneer a promising direction for optimizing cache eviction against underlying fragility through worst-case risk management. SkewRoute: Training-Free LLM Routing for Knowledge Graph Retrieval-Augmented Generation via Score Skewness of Retrieved Context

Large language models excel at many tasks but often incur high inference costs during deployment. To mitigate hallucination, many systems use a knowledge graph to enhance retrieval-augmented generation (KG-RAG). However, the large amount of retrieved knowledge contexts increase these inference costs further. A promising solution to balance performance and cost is LLM routing, which directs simple queries to smaller LLMs and complex ones to larger LLMs. However, no dedicated routing methods currently exist for RAG, and existing training-based routers face challenges scaling to this domain due to the need for extensive training data. We observe that the score distributions produced by the retrieval scorer strongly correlate with query difficulty. Based on this, we propose an extremely simple yet effective routing framework, the first specifically designed for KG-RAG that efficiently balances performance and cost in a plug-and-play manner. It delivers over 3x higher routing effectiveness while reducing runtime to less than 0.001x compared to existing methods. Our code is available at https://github.com/hrwang00/SkewRoute.

Lego Sketch: A Scalable Memory-augmented Neural Network for Sketching Data Streams

Sketches, probabilistic structures for estimating item frequencies in infinite data streams with limited space, are widely used across various domains. Recent studies have shifted the focus from handcrafted sketches to neural sketches, leveraging memory-augmented neural networks (MANNs) to enhance the streaming compression capabilities and achieve better space-accuracy trade-offs.However, existing neural sketches struggle to scale across different data domains and space budgets due to inflexible MANN configurations. In this paper, we introduce a scalable MANN architecture that brings to life the {\it Lego sketch}, a novel sketch with superior scalability and accuracy. Much like assembling creations with modular Lego bricks, the Lego sketch dynamically coordinates multiple memory bricks to adapt to various space budgets and diverse data domains. Our theoretical analysis guarantees its high scalability and provides the first error bound for neural sketch. Furthermore, extensive experimental evaluations demonstrate that the Lego sketch exhibits superior space-accuracy trade-offs, outperforming existing handcrafted and neural sketches. TrustGeoGen: Formal-Verified Data Engine for Trustworthy Multi-modal Geometric Problem Solving

Mathematical geometric problem solving (GPS) demands verifiable logical coherence and multimodal reasoning capabilities. While large language models (LLMs) have shown rapid progress in GPS, their advancement is hindered by the lack of reliable benchmarks and systematic methodologies. A critical challenge is the inherent hallucination in LLMs, which leads to synthetic GPS datasets that are often noisy, unverified, and self-contradictory. To address this, we introduce TrustGeoGen, a data engine that generates formally verified geometric problems to establish a principled and trustworthy benchmark. Our engine integrates four key innovations: 1) Multimodal Alignment, which synchronizes the generation of diagrams, text, and step-by-step solutions; 2) Formal Verification, ensuring all reasoning paths are rule-compliant; 3) Connection Thinking, bridging formal deduction with human-like logical steps; and 4) our \textit{GeoExplore} series algorithms, which produce diverse problem variants with multiple solutions and self-reflective backtracking. Using this engine, we create the GeoTrust-200K dataset and the corresponding GeoTrust-test benchmark, both with guaranteed cross-modal integrity. Experiments reveal that state-of-the-art models achieve only 45.83\% accuracy on GeoTrust-test, highlighting its significant challenge. Furthermore, training on our synthesized data substantially improves model performance on GPS tasks, with strong generalization to out-of-domain (OOD) benchmarks. MIANet: Aggregating Unbiased Instance and General Information for Few-Shot Semantic Segmentation

Existing few-shot segmentation methods are based on the meta-learning strategy and extract instance knowledge from a support set and then apply the knowledge to segment target objects in a query set. However, the extracted knowledge is insufficient to cope with the variable intra-class differences since the knowledge is obtained from a few samples in the support set. To address the problem, we propose a multi-information aggregation network (MIANet) that effectively leverages the general knowledge, i.e., semantic word embeddings, and instance information for accurate segmentation. Specifically, in MIANet, a general information module (GIM) is proposed to extract a general class prototype from word embeddings as a supplement to instance information. To this end, we design a triplet loss that treats the general class prototype as an anchor and samples positive-negative pairs from local features in the support set. The calculated triplet loss can transfer semantic similarities among language identities from a word embedding space to a visual representation space. To alleviate the model biasing towards the seen training classes and to obtain multi-scale information, we then introduce a non-parametric hierarchical prior module (HPM) to generate unbiased instance-level information via calculating the pixel-level similarity between the support and query image features. Finally, an information fusion module (IFM) combines the general and instance information to make predictions for the query image. PAFNet: An Efficient Anchor-Free Object Detector Guidance

Object detection is a basic but challenging task in computer vision, which plays a key role in a variety of industrial applications. However, object detectors based on deep learning usually require greater storage requirements and longer inference time, which hinders its practicality seriously. Therefore, a trade-off between effectiveness and efficiency is necessary in practical scenarios. Considering that without constraint of pre-defined anchors, anchor-free detectors can achieve acceptable accuracy and inference speed simultaneously. In this paper, we start from an anchor-free detector called TTFNet, modify the structure of TTFNet and introduce multiple existing tricks to realize effective server and mobile solutions respectively. Since all experiments in this paper are conducted based on PaddlePaddle, we call the model as PAFNet(Paddle Anchor Free Network). For server side, PAFNet can achieve a better balance between effectiveness (42.2% mAP) and efficiency (67.15 FPS) on a single V100 GPU. For moblie side, PAFNet-lite can achieve a better accuracy of (23.9% mAP) and 26.00 ms on Kirin 990 ARM CPU, outperforming the existing state-of-the-art anchor-free detectors by significant margins. The 1st Tiny Object Detection Challenge:Methods and Results

The 1st Tiny Object Detection (TOD) Challenge aims to encourage research in developing novel and accurate methods for tiny object detection in images which have wide views, with a current focus on tiny person detection. The TinyPerson dataset was used for the TOD Challenge and is publicly released. It has 1610 images and 72651 box-levelannotations. Around 36 participating teams from the globe competed inthe 1st TOD Challenge. In this paper, we provide a brief summary of the1st TOD Challenge including brief introductions to the top three methods.The submission leaderboard will be reopened for researchers that areinterested in the TOD challenge. AttnCache: Accelerating Self-Attention Inference for LLM Prefill via Attention Cache

Large Language Models (LLMs) are widely used in generative applications such as chatting, code generation, and reasoning. However, many realworld workloads such as classification, question answering, recommendation, and text embedding rely solely on the prefill stage of inference, where the model encodes input sequences without performing autoregressive decoding. In these prefill only scenarios, the self-attention computation becomes the primary performance bottleneck due to its quadratic complexity with respect to sequence length. In this paper, we observe that semantically different sentences often produce similar attention maps across layers and heads. Building on this insight, we propose AttnCache, a framework that accelerates the prefill stage of LLM inference by retrieving and reusing similar attention maps. Based on an attention map memorization database, AttnCache employs efficient caching and similarity search techniques to identify and reuse pre-cached attention maps during inference, thereby reducing the computational overhead of self-attention. Experimental results show that AttnCache achieves an average of 1.2x end-to-end and 2x attention speedup on CPU, and 1.6x end-to-end and 3x attention speedup on GPU, with negligible accuracy degradation.

Leveraging Federated Learning and Edge Computing for Recommendation Systems within Cloud Computing Networks

To enable large-scale and efficient deployment of artificial intelligence (AI), the combination of AI and edge computing has spawned Edge Intelligence, which leverages the computing and communication capabilities of end devices and edge servers to process data closer to where it is generated. A key technology for edge intelligence is the privacy-protecting machine learning paradigm known as Federated Learning (FL), which enables data owners to train models without having to transfer raw data to third-party servers. However, FL networks are expected to involve thousands of heterogeneous distributed devices. As a result, communication efficiency remains a key bottleneck. To reduce node failures and device exits, a Hierarchical Federated Learning (HFL) framework is proposed, where a designated cluster leader supports the data owner through intermediate model aggregation. Therefore, based on the improvement of edge server resource utilization, this paper can effectively make up for the limitation of cache capacity. In order to mitigate the impact of soft clicks on the quality of user experience (QoE), the authors model the user QoE as a comprehensive system cost. Serving Large Language Models on Huawei CloudMatrix384

The rapid evolution of large language models (LLMs), driven by growing parameter scales, adoption of mixture-of-experts (MoE) architectures, and expanding context lengths, imposes unprecedented demands on AI infrastructure. Traditional AI clusters face limitations in compute intensity, memory bandwidth, inter-chip communication, and latency, compounded by variable workloads and strict service-level objectives. Addressing these issues requires fundamentally redesigned hardware-software integration. This paper introduces Huawei CloudMatrix, a next-generation AI datacenter architecture, realized in the production-grade CloudMatrix384 supernode. It integrates 384 Ascend 910 NPUs and 192 Kunpeng CPUs interconnected via an ultra-high-bandwidth Unified Bus (UB) network, enabling direct all-to-all communication and dynamic pooling of resources. These features optimize performance for communication-intensive operations, such as large-scale MoE expert parallelism and distributed key-value cache access. To fully leverage CloudMatrix384, we propose CloudMatrix-Infer, an advanced LLM serving solution incorporating three core innovations: a peer-to-peer serving architecture that independently scales prefill, decode, and caching; a large-scale expert parallelism strategy supporting EP320 via efficient UB-based token dispatch; and hardware-aware optimizations including specialized operators, microbatch-based pipelining, and INT8 quantization. Evaluation with the DeepSeek-R1 model shows CloudMatrix-Infer achieves state-of-the-art efficiency: prefill throughput of 6,688 tokens/s per NPU and decode throughput of 1,943 tokens/s per NPU (<50 ms TPOT). It effectively balances throughput and latency, sustaining 538 tokens/s per NPU even under stringent 15 ms latency constraints, while INT8 quantization maintains model accuracy across benchmarks.

Driving Intelligent IoT Monitoring and Control through Cloud Computing and Machine Learning

This article explores how to drive intelligent iot monitoring and control through cloud computing and machine learning. As iot and the cloud continue to generate large and diverse amounts of data as sensor devices in the network, the collected data is sent to the cloud for statistical analysis, prediction, and data analysis to achieve business objectives. However, because the cloud computing model is limited by distance, it can be problematic in environments where the quality of the Internet connection is not ideal for critical operations. Therefore, edge computing, as a distributed computing architecture, moves the location of processing applications, data and services from the central node of the network to the logical edge node of the network to reduce the dependence on cloud processing and analysis of data, and achieve near-end data processing and analysis. The combination of iot and edge computing can reduce latency, improve efficiency, and enhance security, thereby driving the development of intelligent systems. The paper also introduces the development of iot monitoring and control technology, the application of edge computing in iot monitoring and control, and the role of machine learning in data analysis and fault detection. Finally, the application and effect of intelligent Internet of Things monitoring and control system in industry, agriculture, medical and other fields are demonstrated through practical cases and experimental studies.

Identify Critical KV Cache in LLM Inference from an Output Perturbation Perspective

Large language models have revolutionized natural language processing but face significant challenges of high storage and runtime costs, due to the transformer architecture's reliance on self-attention, particularly the large Key-Value (KV) cache for long-sequence inference. Recent efforts to reduce KV cache size by pruning less critical entries based on attention weights remain empirical and lack formal grounding. This paper presents a formal study on identifying critical KV cache entries by analyzing attention output perturbation. Our analysis reveals that, beyond attention weights, the value states within KV entries and pretrained parameter matrices are also crucial. Based on this, we propose a perturbation-constrained selection algorithm that optimizes the worst-case output perturbation to identify critical entries. Evaluations on the Needle-in-a-Haystack test and Longbench benchmark show our algorithm enhances state-of-the-art cache eviction methods. Further empirical analysis confirms that our algorithm achieves lower output perturbations in over 92% attention heads in Llama model, thereby providing a significant improvement over existing methods.

FRAG: A Flexible Modular Framework for Retrieval-Augmented Generation based on Knowledge Graphs

To mitigate the hallucination and knowledge deficiency in large language models (LLMs), Knowledge Graph (KG)-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) has shown promising potential by utilizing KGs as external resource to enhance LLMs reasoning. However, existing KG-RAG approaches struggle with a trade-off between flexibility and retrieval quality. Modular methods prioritize flexibility by avoiding the use of KG-fine-tuned models during retrieval, leading to fixed retrieval strategies and suboptimal retrieval quality. Conversely, coupled methods embed KG information within models to improve retrieval quality, but at the expense of flexibility. In this paper, we propose a novel flexible modular KG-RAG framework, termed FRAG, which synergizes the advantages of both approaches. FRAG estimates the hop range of reasoning paths based solely on the query and classify it as either simple or complex. To match the complexity of the query, tailored pipelines are applied to ensure efficient and accurate reasoning path retrieval, thus fostering the final reasoning process. By using the query text instead of the KG to infer the structural information of reasoning paths and employing adaptable retrieval strategies, FRAG improves retrieval quality while maintaining flexibility. Moreover, FRAG does not require extra LLMs fine-tuning or calls, significantly boosting efficiency and conserving resources. Extensive experiments show that FRAG achieves state-of-the-art performance with high efficiency and low resource consumption.

PCDreamer: Point Cloud Completion Through Multi-view Diffusion Priors

This paper presents PCDreamer, a novel method for point cloud completion. Traditional methods typically extract features from partial point clouds to predict missing regions, but the large solution space often leads to unsatisfactory results. More recent approaches have started to use images as extra guidance, effectively improving performance, but obtaining paired data of images and partial point clouds is challenging in practice. To overcome these limitations, we harness the relatively view-consistent multi-view diffusion priors within large models, to generate novel views of the desired shape. The resulting image set encodes both global and local shape cues, which are especially beneficial for shape completion. To fully exploit the priors, we have designed a shape fusion module for producing an initial complete shape from multi-modality input (i.e.,, images and point clouds), and a follow-up shape consolidation module to obtain the final complete shape by discarding unreliable points introduced by the inconsistency from diffusion priors. Extensive experimental results demonstrate our superior performance, especially in recovering fine details.

VA-FastNavi-MARL: Real-Time Robot Control with Multimedia-Driven Meta-Reinforcement Learning

Interpreting dynamic, heterogeneous multimedia commands with real-time responsiveness is critical for Human-Robot Interaction. We present VA-FastNavi-MARL, a framework that aligns asynchronous audio-visual inputs into a unified latent representation. By treating diverse instructions as a distribution of navigable goals via Meta-Reinforcement Learning, our method enables rapid adaptation to unseen directives with negligible inference overhead. Unlike approaches bottlenecked by heavy sensory processing, our modality-agnostic stream ensures seamless, low-latency control. Validation on a multi-arm workspace confirms that VA-FastNavi-MARL significantly outperforms baselines in sample efficiency and maintains robust, real-time execution even under noisy multimedia streams.

OLMD: Orientation-aware Long-term Motion Decoupling for Continuous Sign Language Recognition

The primary challenge in continuous sign language recognition (CSLR) mainly stems from the presence of multi-orientational and long-term motions. However, current research overlooks these crucial aspects, significantly impacting accuracy. To tackle these issues, we propose a novel CSLR framework: Orientation-aware Long-term Motion Decoupling (OLMD), which efficiently aggregates long-term motions and decouples multi-orientational signals into easily interpretable components. Specifically, our innovative Long-term Motion Aggregation (LMA) module filters out static redundancy while adaptively capturing abundant features of long-term motions. We further enhance orientation awareness by decoupling complex movements into horizontal and vertical components, allowing for motion purification in both orientations. Additionally, two coupling mechanisms are proposed: stage and cross-stage coupling, which together enrich multi-scale features and improve the generalization capabilities of the model. Experimentally, OLMD shows SOTA performance on three large-scale datasets: PHOENIX14, PHOENIX14-T, and CSL-Daily. Notably, we improved the word error rate (WER) on PHOENIX14 by an absolute 1.6% compared to the previous SOTA

DESign: Dynamic Context-Aware Convolution and Efficient Subnet Regularization for Continuous Sign Language Recognition

Current continuous sign language recognition (CSLR) methods struggle with handling diverse samples. Although dynamic convolutions are ideal for this task, they mainly focus on spatial modeling and fail to capture the temporal dynamics and contextual dependencies. To address this, we propose DESign, a novel framework that incorporates Dynamic Context-Aware Convolution (DCAC) and Subnet Regularization Connectionist Temporal Classification (SR-CTC). DCAC dynamically captures the inter-frame motion cues that constitute signs and uniquely adapts convolutional weights in a fine-grained manner based on contextual information, enabling the model to better generalize across diverse signing behaviors and boost recognition accuracy. Furthermore, we observe that existing methods still rely on only a limited number of frames for parameter updates during training, indicating that CTC learning overfits to a dominant path. To address this, SR-CTC regularizes training by applying supervision to subnetworks, encouraging the model to explore diverse CTC alignment paths and effectively preventing overfitting. A classifier-sharing strategy in SR-CTC further strengthens multi-scale consistency. Notably, SR-CTC introduces no inference overhead and can be seamlessly integrated into existing CSLR models to boost performance. Extensive ablations and visualizations further validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. Results on mainstream CSLR datasets (i.e., PHOENIX14, PHOENIX14-T, CSL-Daily) demonstrate that DESign achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Today's Cat Is Tomorrow's Dog: Accounting for Time-Based Changes in the Labels of ML Vulnerability Detection Approaches

Vulnerability datasets used for ML testing implicitly contain retrospective information. When tested on the field, one can only use the labels available at the time of training and testing (e.g. seen and assumed negatives). As vulnerabilities are discovered across calendar time, labels change and past performance is not necessarily aligned with future performance. Past works only considered the slices of the whole history (e.g. DiverseVUl) or individual differences between releases (e.g. Jimenez et al. ESEC/FSE 2019). Such approaches are either too optimistic in training (e.g. the whole history) or too conservative (e.g. consecutive releases). We propose a method to restructure a dataset into a series of datasets in which both training and testing labels change to account for the knowledge available at the time. If the model is actually learning, it should improve its performance over time as more data becomes available and data becomes more stable, an effect that can be checked with the Mann-Kendall test. We validate our methodology for vulnerability detection with 4 time-based datasets (3 projects from BigVul dataset + Vuldeepecker's NVD) and 5 ML models (Code2Vec, CodeBERT, LineVul, ReGVD, and Vuldeepecker). In contrast to the intuitive expectation (more retrospective information, better performance), the trend results show that performance changes inconsistently across the years, showing that most models are not learning.

Path Pooling: Training-Free Structure Enhancement for Efficient Knowledge Graph Retrieval-Augmented Generation

Although Large Language Models achieve strong success in many tasks, they still suffer from hallucinations and knowledge deficiencies in real-world applications. Many knowledge graph-based retrieval-augmented generation (KG-RAG) methods enhance the quality and credibility of LLMs by leveraging structure and semantic information in KGs as external knowledge bases. However, these methods struggle to effectively incorporate structure information, either incurring high computational costs or underutilizing available knowledge. Inspired by smoothing operations in graph representation learning, we propose path pooling, a simple, training-free strategy that introduces structure information through a novel path-centric pooling operation. It seamlessly integrates into existing KG-RAG methods in a plug-and-play manner, enabling richer structure information utilization. Extensive experiments demonstrate that incorporating the path pooling into the state-of-the-art KG-RAG method consistently improves performance across various settings while introducing negligible additional cost.

Probabilistic Ranking-Aware Ensembles for Enhanced Object Detections

Model ensembles are becoming one of the most effective approaches for improving object detection performance already optimized for a single detector. Conventional methods directly fuse bounding boxes but typically fail to consider proposal qualities when combining detectors. This leads to a new problem of confidence discrepancy for the detector ensembles. The confidence has little effect on single detectors but significantly affects detector ensembles. To address this issue, we propose a novel ensemble called the Probabilistic Ranking Aware Ensemble (PRAE) that refines the confidence of bounding boxes from detectors. By simultaneously considering the category and the location on the same validation set, we obtain a more reliable confidence based on statistical probability. We can then rank the detected bounding boxes for assembly. We also introduce a bandit approach to address the confidence imbalance problem caused by the need to deal with different numbers of boxes at different confidence levels. We use our PRAE-based non-maximum suppression (P-NMS) to replace the conventional NMS method in ensemble learning. Experiments on the PASCAL VOC and COCO2017 datasets demonstrate that our PRAE method consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods by significant margins.

Time-Continuous Energy-Conservation Neural Network for Structural Dynamics Analysis

Fast and accurate structural dynamics analysis is important for structural design and damage assessment. Structural dynamics analysis leveraging machine learning techniques has become a popular research focus in recent years. Although the basic neural network provides an alternative approach for structural dynamics analysis, the lack of physics law inside the neural network limits the model accuracy and fidelity. In this paper, a new family of the energy-conservation neural network is introduced, which respects the physical laws. The neural network is explored from a fundamental single-degree-of-freedom system to a complicated multiple-degrees-of-freedom system. The damping force and external forces are also considered step by step. To improve the parallelization of the algorithm, the derivatives of the structural states are parameterized with the novel energy-conservation neural network instead of specifying the discrete sequence of structural states. The proposed model uses the system energy as the last layer of the neural network and leverages the underlying automatic differentiation graph to incorporate the system energy naturally, which ultimately improves the accuracy and long-term stability of structures dynamics response calculation under an earthquake impact. The trade-off between computation accuracy and speed is discussed. As a case study, a 3-story building earthquake simulation is conducted with realistic earthquake records.

2nd Place Solution in Google AI Open Images Object Detection Track 2019

We present an object detection framework based on PaddlePaddle. We put all the strategies together (multi-scale training, FPN, Cascade, Dcnv2, Non-local, libra loss) based on ResNet200-vd backbone. Our model score on public leaderboard comes to 0.6269 with single scale test. We proposed a new voting method called top-k voting-nms, based on the SoftNMS detection results. The voting method helps us merge all the models' results more easily and achieve 2nd place in the Google AI Open Images Object Detection Track 2019.

Quantum Data Fitting Algorithm for Non-sparse Matrices

We propose a quantum data fitting algorithm for non-sparse matrices, which is based on the Quantum Singular Value Estimation (QSVE) subroutine and a novel efficient method for recovering the signs of eigenvalues. Our algorithm generalizes the quantum data fitting algorithm of Wiebe, Braun, and Lloyd for sparse and well-conditioned matrices by adding a regularization term to avoid the over-fitting problem, which is a very important problem in machine learning. As a result, the algorithm achieves a sparsity-independent runtime of $O(κ^2\sqrt{N}\mathrm{polylog}(N)/(ε\logκ))$ for an $N\times N$ dimensional Hermitian matrix $\bm{F}$, where $κ$ denotes the condition number of $\bm{F}$ and $ε$ is the precision parameter. This amounts to a polynomial speedup on the dimension of matrices when compared with the classical data fitting algorithms, and a strictly less than quadratic dependence on $κ$.

Quantum Privacy-Preserving Perceptron

With the extensive applications of machine learning, the issue of private or sensitive data in the training examples becomes more and more serious: during the training process, personal information or habits may be disclosed to unexpected persons or organisations, which can cause serious privacy problems or even financial loss. In this paper, we present a quantum privacy-preserving algorithm for machine learning with perceptron. There are mainly two steps to protect original training examples. Firstly when checking the current classifier, quantum tests are employed to detect data user's possible dishonesty. Secondly when updating the current classifier, private random noise is used to protect the original data. The advantages of our algorithm are: (1) it protects training examples better than the known classical methods; (2) it requires no quantum database and thus is easy to implement.

Quantum Privacy-Preserving Data Analytics

Data analytics (such as association rule mining and decision tree mining) can discover useful statistical knowledge from a big data set. But protecting the privacy of the data provider and the data user in the process of analytics is a serious issue. Usually, the privacy of both parties cannot be fully protected simultaneously by a classical algorithm. In this paper, we present a quantum protocol for data mining that can much better protect privacy than the known classical algorithms: (1) if both the data provider and the data user are honest, the data user can know nothing about the database except the statistical results, and the data provider can get nearly no information about the results mined by the data user; (2) if the data user is dishonest and tries to disclose private information of the other, she/he will be detected with a high probability; (3) if the data provider tries to disclose the privacy of the data user, she/he cannot get any useful information since the data user hides his privacy among noises.

Quantum Privacy-Preserving Data Mining

Data mining is a key technology in big data analytics and it can discover understandable knowledge (patterns) hidden in large data sets. Association rule is one of the most useful knowledge patterns, and a large number of algorithms have been developed in the data mining literature to generate association rules corresponding to different problems and situations. Privacy becomes a vital issue when data mining is used to sensitive data sets like medical records, commercial data sets and national security. In this Letter, we present a quantum protocol for mining association rules on vertically partitioned databases. The quantum protocol can improve the privacy level preserved by known classical protocols and at the same time it can exponentially reduce the computational complexity and communication cost.

Toward automatic verification of quantum cryptographic protocols

Several quantum process algebras have been proposed and successfully applied in verification of quantum cryptographic protocols. All of the bisimulations proposed so far for quantum processes in these process algebras are state-based, implying that they only compare individual quantum states, but not a combination of them. This paper remedies this problem by introducing a novel notion of distribution-based bisimulation for quantum processes. We further propose an approximate version of this bisimulation that enables us to prove more sophisticated security properties of quantum protocols which cannot be verified using the previous bisimulations. In particular, we prove that the quantum key distribution protocol BB84 is sound and (asymptotically) secure against the intercept-resend attacks by showing that the BB84 protocol, when executed with such an attacker concurrently, is approximately bisimilar to an ideal protocol, whose soundness and security are obviously guaranteed, with at most an exponentially decreasing gap.
