GaFET: Learning Geometry-aware Facial Expression Translation from In-The-Wild ImagesTianxiang Ma, Bingchuan Li, Qian He et al.
While current face animation methods can manipulate expressions individually, they suffer from several limitations. The expressions manipulated by some motion-based facial reenactment models are crude. Other ideas modeled with facial action units cannot generalize to arbitrary expressions not covered by annotations. In this paper, we introduce a novel Geometry-aware Facial Expression Translation (GaFET) framework, which is based on parametric 3D facial representations and can stably decoupled expression. Among them, a Multi-level Feature Aligned Transformer is proposed to complement non-geometric facial detail features while addressing the alignment challenge of spatial features. Further, we design a De-expression model based on StyleGAN, in order to reduce the learning difficulty of GaFET in unpaired "in-the-wild" images. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate that we achieve higher-quality and more accurate facial expression transfer results compared to state-of-the-art methods, and demonstrate applicability of various poses and complex textures. Besides, videos or annotated training data are omitted, making our method easier to use and generalize.

DreamTuner: Single Image is Enough for Subject-Driven GenerationMiao Hua, Jiawei Liu, Fei Ding et al.
Diffusion-based models have demonstrated impressive capabilities for text-to-image generation and are expected for personalized applications of subject-driven generation, which require the generation of customized concepts with one or a few reference images. However, existing methods based on fine-tuning fail to balance the trade-off between subject learning and the maintenance of the generation capabilities of pretrained models. Moreover, other methods that utilize additional image encoders tend to lose important details of the subject due to encoding compression. To address these challenges, we propose DreamTurner, a novel method that injects reference information from coarse to fine to achieve subject-driven image generation more effectively. DreamTurner introduces a subject-encoder for coarse subject identity preservation, where the compressed general subject features are introduced through an attention layer before visual-text cross-attention. We then modify the self-attention layers within pretrained text-to-image models to self-subject-attention layers to refine the details of the target subject. The generated image queries detailed features from both the reference image and itself in self-subject-attention. It is worth emphasizing that self-subject-attention is an effective, elegant, and training-free method for maintaining the detailed features of customized subjects and can serve as a plug-and-play solution during inference. Finally, with additional subject-driven fine-tuning, DreamTurner achieves remarkable performance in subject-driven image generation, which can be controlled by a text or other conditions such as pose. Never-Ending Behavior-Cloning Agent for Robotic ManipulationWenqi Liang, Gan Sun, Qian He et al.
Relying on multi-modal observations, embodied robots could perform multiple robotic manipulation tasks in unstructured real-world environments. However, most language-conditioned behavior-cloning agents still face existing long-standing challenges, i.e., 3D scene representation and human-level task learning, when adapting into new sequential tasks in practical scenarios. We here investigate these above challenges with NBAgent in embodied robots, a pioneering language-conditioned Never-ending Behavior-cloning Agent. It can continually learn observation knowledge of novel 3D scene semantics and robot manipulation skills from skill-shared and skill-specific attributes, respectively. Specifically, we propose a skill-sharedsemantic rendering module and a skill-shared representation distillation module to effectively learn 3D scene semantics from skill-shared attribute, further tackling 3D scene representation overlooking. Meanwhile, we establish a skill-specific evolving planner to perform manipulation knowledge decoupling, which can continually embed novel skill-specific knowledge like human from latent and low-rank space. Finally, we design a never-ending embodied robot manipulation benchmark, and expensive experiments demonstrate the significant performance of our method. Seedance 1.5 pro: A Native Audio-Visual Joint Generation Foundation ModelTeam Seedance, Heyi Chen, Siyan Chen et al.
Recent strides in video generation have paved the way for unified audio-visual generation. In this work, we present Seedance 1.5 pro, a foundational model engineered specifically for native, joint audio-video generation. Leveraging a dual-branch Diffusion Transformer architecture, the model integrates a cross-modal joint module with a specialized multi-stage data pipeline, achieving exceptional audio-visual synchronization and superior generation quality. To ensure practical utility, we implement meticulous post-training optimizations, including Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) on high-quality datasets and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) with multi-dimensional reward models. Furthermore, we introduce an acceleration framework that boosts inference speed by over 10X. Seedance 1.5 pro distinguishes itself through precise multilingual and dialect lip-syncing, dynamic cinematic camera control, and enhanced narrative coherence, positioning it as a robust engine for professional-grade content creation. Seedance 1.5 pro is now accessible on Volcano Engine at https://console.volcengine.com/ark/region:ark+cn-beijing/experience/vision?type=GenVideo.

Transforming Wearable Data into Personal Health Insights using Large Language Model AgentsMike A. Merrill, Akshay Paruchuri, Naghmeh Rezaei et al.
Deriving personalized insights from popular wearable trackers requires complex numerical reasoning that challenges standard LLMs, necessitating tool-based approaches like code generation. Large language model (LLM) agents present a promising yet largely untapped solution for this analysis at scale. We introduce the Personal Health Insights Agent (PHIA), a system leveraging multistep reasoning with code generation and information retrieval to analyze and interpret behavioral health data. To test its capabilities, we create and share two benchmark datasets with over 4000 health insights questions. A 650-hour human expert evaluation shows that PHIA significantly outperforms a strong code generation baseline, achieving 84% accuracy on objective, numerical questions and, for open-ended ones, earning 83% favorable ratings while being twice as likely to achieve the highest quality rating. This work can advance behavioral health by empowering individuals to understand their data, enabling a new era of accessible, personalized, and data-driven wellness for the wider population.
