PointAction: 3D Points as Universal Action Representations for Robot Control

Video-Action Models (VAMs) leverage the broad visual dynamics captured by pre-trained video diffusion models, offering a promising path toward generalizable robot manipulation. However, RGB-only video rollouts are not directly actionable: they leave metric 3D motion, contact geometry, and fine-grained spatial constraints under-specified, making action grounding ambiguous. Meanwhile, scaling action supervision across diverse tasks and embodiments remains costly. We present PointAction, a framework that bridges video predictions to robot actions through explicit point-based 4D modeling. PointAction fine-tunes a foundation video generation model to jointly predict future RGB frames and dynamic 3D pointmaps, producing temporally consistent 3D motion of task-relevant scene geometry. These point dynamics serve as a structured, embodiment-agnostic action interface, which a diffusion-based action decoder maps to executable robot actions. By using metric 3D point dynamics as the interface between video prediction and control, PointAction reduces the ambiguity of RGB-only action grounding and supports transfer across tasks and embodiments with limited action supervision. Experiments show that PointAction achieves state-of-the-art 4D generation quality on robot scenes, outperforms existing baselines in simulation, and generalizes to two real robot arms unseen during pretraining.

CHAE: Fine-Grained Controllable Story Generation with Characters, Actions and Emotions

Story generation has emerged as an interesting yet challenging NLP task in recent years. Some existing studies aim at generating fluent and coherent stories from keywords and outlines; while others attempt to control the global features of the story, such as emotion, style and topic. However, these works focus on coarse-grained control on the story, neglecting control on the details of the story, which is also crucial for the task. To fill the gap, this paper proposes a model for fine-grained control on the story, which allows the generation of customized stories with characters, corresponding actions and emotions arbitrarily assigned. Extensive experimental results on both automatic and human manual evaluations show the superiority of our method. It has strong controllability to generate stories according to the fine-grained personalized guidance, unveiling the effectiveness of our methodology. Leveraging Latent Visual Reasoning in Silence

Latent visual reasoning involves visual evidence more directly in multimodal reasoning by inserting continuous latent tokens before textual generation. However, the necessity of these latent tokens at inference remains ambiguous. We show that replacing latent tokens with random noise or removing them completely causes little performance degradation across spatial reasoning benchmarks. Reinforcement learning further diminishes the latent generation behavior after post-training. These observations raise a central question: Is latent visual reasoning still meaningful? We argue that its value should be measured by how effectively latent tokens guide learning, rather than whether they persist as an inference-time format. Our analysis shows that latent reasoning is unevenly favorable across question types, yet hard task-level routing for applying latent generation is brittle. Motivated by these findings, we propose an attention-based reward that encourages generated latent tokens to interact with later text tokens during RL. This reward promotes latent utilization when the latent mode is activated while preserving the flexibility to use pure-text reasoning. Experiments show that our method improves performance across perception and visual reasoning benchmarks, even when latent tokens are rarely generated after post-training. Our results highlight that, without explicit expression at inference, latent visual reasoning can shape better visual grounding and more accurate textual reasoning in silence. Large-Scale and Multi-Perspective Opinion Summarization with Diverse Review Subsets

Opinion summarization is expected to digest larger review sets and provide summaries from different perspectives. However, most existing solutions are deficient in epitomizing extensive reviews and offering opinion summaries from various angles due to the lack of designs for information selection. To this end, we propose SUBSUMM, a supervised summarization framework for large-scale multi-perspective opinion summarization. SUBSUMM consists of a review sampling strategy set and a two-stage training scheme. The sampling strategies take sentiment orientation and contrastive information value into consideration, with which the review subsets from different perspectives and quality levels can be selected. Subsequently, the summarizer is encouraged to learn from the sub-optimal and optimal subsets successively in order to capitalize on the massive input. Experimental results on AmaSum and Rotten Tomatoes datasets demonstrate that SUBSUMM is adept at generating pros, cons, and verdict summaries from hundreds of input reviews. Furthermore, our in-depth analysis verifies that the advanced selection of review subsets and the two-stage training scheme are vital to boosting the summarization performance.

MHLAT: Multi-hop Label-wise Attention Model for Automatic ICD Coding

International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding is the task of assigning ICD diagnosis codes to clinical notes. This can be challenging given the large quantity of labels (nearly 9,000) and lengthy texts (up to 8,000 tokens). However, unlike the single-pass reading process in previous works, humans tend to read the text and label definitions again to get more confident answers. Moreover, although pretrained language models have been used to address these problems, they suffer from huge memory usage. To address the above problems, we propose a simple but effective model called the Multi-Hop Label-wise ATtention (MHLAT), in which multi-hop label-wise attention is deployed to get more precise and informative representations. Extensive experiments on three benchmark MIMIC datasets indicate that our method achieves significantly better or competitive performance on all seven metrics, with much fewer parameters to optimize.

AMap: Distilling Future Priors for Ahead-Aware Online HD Map Construction

Online High-Definition (HD) map construction is pivotal for autonomous driving. While recent approaches leverage historical temporal fusion to improve performance, we identify a critical safety flaw in this paradigm: it is inherently ``spatially backward-looking." These methods predominantly enhance map reconstruction in traversed areas, offering minimal improvement for the unseen road ahead. Crucially, our analysis of downstream planning tasks reveals a severe asymmetry: while rearward perception errors are often tolerable, inaccuracies in the forward region directly precipitate hazardous driving maneuvers. To bridge this safety gap, we propose AMap, a novel framework for Ahead-aware online HD Mapping. We pioneer a ``distill-from-future" paradigm, where a teacher model with privileged access to future temporal contexts guides a lightweight student model restricted to the current frame. This process implicitly compresses prospective knowledge into the student model, endowing it with ``look-ahead" capabilities at zero inference-time cost. Technically, we introduce a Multi-Level BEV Distillation strategy with spatial masking and an Asymmetric Query Adaptation module to effectively transfer future-aware representations to the student's static queries. Extensive experiments on the nuScenes and Argoverse 2 benchmark demonstrate that AMap significantly enhances current-frame perception. Most notably, it outperforms state-of-the-art temporal models in critical forward regions while maintaining the efficiency of single current frame inference.

Stag-1: Towards Realistic 4D Driving Simulation with Video Generation Model

4D driving simulation is essential for developing realistic autonomous driving simulators. Despite advancements in existing methods for generating driving scenes, significant challenges remain in view transformation and spatial-temporal dynamic modeling. To address these limitations, we propose a Spatial-Temporal simulAtion for drivinG (Stag-1) model to reconstruct real-world scenes and design a controllable generative network to achieve 4D simulation. Stag-1 constructs continuous 4D point cloud scenes using surround-view data from autonomous vehicles. It decouples spatial-temporal relationships and produces coherent keyframe videos. Additionally, Stag-1 leverages video generation models to obtain photo-realistic and controllable 4D driving simulation videos from any perspective. To expand the range of view generation, we train vehicle motion videos based on decomposed camera poses, enhancing modeling capabilities for distant scenes. Furthermore, we reconstruct vehicle camera trajectories to integrate 3D points across consecutive views, enabling comprehensive scene understanding along the temporal dimension. Following extensive multi-level scene training, Stag-1 can simulate from any desired viewpoint and achieve a deep understanding of scene evolution under static spatial-temporal conditions. Compared to existing methods, our approach shows promising performance in multi-view scene consistency, background coherence, and accuracy, and contributes to the ongoing advancements in realistic autonomous driving simulation. DESTEIN: Navigating Detoxification of Language Models via Universal Steering Pairs and Head-wise Activation Fusion

Despite the remarkable achievements of language models (LMs) across a broad spectrum of tasks, their propensity for generating toxic outputs remains a prevalent concern. Current solutions involving finetuning or auxiliary models usually require extensive computational resources, hindering their practicality in large language models (LLMs). In this paper, we propose DeStein, a novel method that detoxifies LMs by applying representation engineering in activation spaces with lower resource and time costs. Specifically, we derive detoxification vectors from self-induced, universal steering pairs through arithmetic operations in activation spaces. During inference, detoxification is achieved by fusing the detoxification vectors with the original representations in a head-wise manner. Empirical results demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms previous state-of-the-art approaches on various metrics, while also maintaining satisfactory generation quality and diversity. We further validate the practicality and scalability of DeStein with a series of white-box LLMs. The method is open-sourced at https://github.com/LizLizLi/DeStein. You Only Forward Once: Prediction and Rationalization in A Single Forward Pass

Unsupervised rationale extraction aims to extract concise and contiguous text snippets to support model predictions without any annotated rationale. Previous studies have used a two-phase framework known as the Rationalizing Neural Prediction (RNP) framework, which follows a generate-then-predict paradigm. They assumed that the extracted explanation, called rationale, should be sufficient to predict the golden label. However, the assumption above deviates from the original definition and is too strict to perform well. Furthermore, these two-phase models suffer from the interlocking problem and spurious correlations. To solve the above problems, we propose a novel single-phase framework called You Only Forward Once (YOFO), derived from a relaxed version of rationale where rationales aim to support model predictions rather than make predictions. In our framework, A pre-trained language model like BERT is deployed to simultaneously perform prediction and rationalization with less impact from interlocking or spurious correlations. Directly choosing the important tokens in an unsupervised manner is intractable. Instead of directly choosing the important tokens, YOFO gradually removes unimportant tokens during forward propagation. Through experiments on the BeerAdvocate and Hotel Review datasets, we demonstrate that our model is able to extract rationales and make predictions more accurately compared to RNP-based models. We observe an improvement of up to 18.4\% in token-level F1 compared to previous state-of-the-art methods. We also conducted analyses and experiments to explore the extracted rationales and token decay strategies. The results show that YOFO can extract precise and important rationales while removing unimportant tokens in the middle part of the model.

MapKD: Unlocking Prior Knowledge with Cross-Modal Distillation for Efficient Online HD Map Construction

Online HD map construction is a fundamental task in autonomous driving systems, aiming to acquire semantic information of map elements around the ego vehicle based on real-time sensor inputs. Recently, several approaches have achieved promising results by incorporating offline priors such as SD maps and HD maps or by fusing multi-modal data. However, these methods depend on stale offline maps and multi-modal sensor suites, resulting in avoidable computational overhead at inference. To address these limitations, we employ a knowledge distillation strategy to transfer knowledge from multimodal models with prior knowledge to an efficient, low-cost, and vision-centric student model. Specifically, we propose MapKD, a novel multi-level cross-modal knowledge distillation framework with an innovative Teacher-Coach-Student (TCS) paradigm. This framework consists of: (1) a camera-LiDAR fusion model with SD/HD map priors serving as the teacher; (2) a vision-centric coach model with prior knowledge and simulated LiDAR to bridge the cross-modal knowledge transfer gap; and (3) a lightweight vision-based student model. Additionally, we introduce two targeted knowledge distillation strategies: Token-Guided 2D Patch Distillation (TGPD) for bird's eye view feature alignment and Masked Semantic Response Distillation (MSRD) for semantic learning guidance. Extensive experiments on the challenging nuScenes dataset demonstrate that MapKD improves the student model by +6.68 mIoU and +10.94 mAP while simultaneously accelerating inference speed. PICACO: Pluralistic In-Context Value Alignment of LLMs via Total Correlation Optimization

In-Context Learning has shown great potential for aligning Large Language Models (LLMs) with human values, helping reduce harmful outputs and accommodate diverse preferences without costly post-training, known as In-Context Alignment (ICA). However, LLMs' comprehension of input prompts remains agnostic, limiting ICA's ability to address value tensions--human values are inherently pluralistic, often imposing conflicting demands, e.g., stimulation vs. tradition. Current ICA methods therefore face the Instruction Bottleneck challenge, where LLMs struggle to reconcile multiple intended values within a single prompt, leading to incomplete or biased alignment. To address this, we propose PICACO, a novel pluralistic ICA method. Without fine-tuning, PICACO optimizes a meta-instruction that navigates multiple values to better elicit LLMs' understanding of them and improve their alignment. This is achieved by maximizing the total correlation between specified values and LLM responses, theoretically reinforcing value correlation while reducing distractive noise, resulting in effective value instructions. Extensive experiments on five value sets show that PICACO works well with both black-box and open-source LLMs, outperforms several recent strong baselines, and achieves a better balance across up to 8 distinct values.

Speech Audio Generation from dynamic MRI via a Knowledge Enhanced Conditional Variational Autoencoder

Dynamic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the vocal tract has become an increasingly adopted imaging modality for speech motor studies. Beyond image signals, systematic data loss, noise pollution, and audio file corruption can occur due to the unpredictability of the MRI acquisition environment. In such cases, generating audio from images is critical for data recovery in both clinical and research applications. However, this remains challenging due to hardware constraints, acoustic interference, and data corruption. Existing solutions, such as denoising and multi-stage synthesis methods, face limitations in audio fidelity and generalizability. To address these challenges, we propose a Knowledge Enhanced Conditional Variational Autoencoder (KE-CVAE), a novel two-step "knowledge enhancement + variational inference" framework for generating speech audio signals from cine dynamic MRI sequences. This approach introduces two key innovations: (1) integration of unlabeled MRI data for knowledge enhancement, and (2) a variational inference architecture to improve generative modeling capacity. To the best of our knowledge, this is one of the first attempts at synthesizing speech audio directly from dynamic MRI video sequences. The proposed method was trained and evaluated on an open-source dynamic vocal tract MRI dataset recorded during speech. Experimental results demonstrate its effectiveness in generating natural speech waveforms while addressing MRI-specific acoustic challenges, outperforming conventional deep learning-based synthesis approaches.

GPU-accelerated Faster Mean Shift with euclidean distance metrics

Handling clustering problems are important in data statistics, pattern recognition and image processing. The mean-shift algorithm, a common unsupervised algorithms, is widely used to solve clustering problems. However, the mean-shift algorithm is restricted by its huge computational resource cost. In previous research[10], we proposed a novel GPU-accelerated Faster Mean-shift algorithm, which greatly speed up the cosine-embedding clustering problem. In this study, we extend and improve the previous algorithm to handle Euclidean distance metrics. Different from conventional GPU-based mean-shift algorithms, our algorithm adopts novel Seed Selection & Early Stopping approaches, which greatly increase computing speed and reduce GPU memory consumption. In the simulation testing, when processing a 200K points clustering problem, our algorithm achieved around 3 times speedup compared to the state-of-the-art GPU-based mean-shift algorithms with optimized GPU memory consumption. Moreover, in this study, we implemented a plug-and-play model for faster mean-shift algorithm, which can be easily deployed. AccidentGPT: Accident Analysis and Prevention from V2X Environmental Perception with Multi-modal Large Model

Traffic accidents, being a significant contributor to both human casualties and property damage, have long been a focal point of research for many scholars in the field of traffic safety. However, previous studies, whether focusing on static environmental assessments or dynamic driving analyses, as well as pre-accident predictions or post-accident rule analyses, have typically been conducted in isolation. There has been a lack of an effective framework for developing a comprehensive understanding and application of traffic safety. To address this gap, this paper introduces AccidentGPT, a comprehensive accident analysis and prevention multi-modal large model. AccidentGPT establishes a multi-modal information interaction framework grounded in multi-sensor perception, thereby enabling a holistic approach to accident analysis and prevention in the field of traffic safety. Specifically, our capabilities can be categorized as follows: for autonomous driving vehicles, we provide comprehensive environmental perception and understanding to control the vehicle and avoid collisions. For human-driven vehicles, we offer proactive long-range safety warnings and blind-spot alerts while also providing safety driving recommendations and behavioral norms through human-machine dialogue and interaction. Additionally, for traffic police and management agencies, our framework supports intelligent and real-time analysis of traffic safety, encompassing pedestrian, vehicles, roads, and the environment through collaborative perception from multiple vehicles and road testing devices. The system is also capable of providing a thorough analysis of accident causes and liability after vehicle collisions. ToViLaG: Your Visual-Language Generative Model is Also An Evildoer

Recent large-scale Visual-Language Generative Models (VLGMs) have achieved unprecedented improvement in multimodal image/text generation. However, these models might also generate toxic content, e.g., offensive text and pornography images, raising significant ethical risks. Despite exhaustive studies on toxic degeneration of language models, this problem remains largely unexplored within the context of visual-language generation. This work delves into the propensity for toxicity generation and susceptibility to toxic data across various VLGMs. For this purpose, we built ToViLaG, a dataset comprising 32K co-toxic/mono-toxic text-image pairs and 1K innocuous but evocative text that tends to stimulate toxicity. Furthermore, we propose WInToRe, a novel toxicity metric tailored to visual-language generation, which theoretically reflects different aspects of toxicity considering both input and output. On such a basis, we benchmarked the toxicity of a diverse spectrum of VLGMs and discovered that some models do more evil than expected while some are more vulnerable to infection, underscoring the necessity of VLGMs detoxification. Therefore, we develop an innovative bottleneck-based detoxification method. Our method could reduce toxicity while maintaining comparable generation quality, providing a promising initial solution to this line of research.

The Impact of Generative AI on Architectural Conceptual Design: Performance, Creative Self-Efficacy and Cognitive Load

Our study examines how generative AI (GenAI) influences performance, creative self-efficacy, and cognitive load in architectural conceptual design tasks. Thirty-six student participants from Architectural Engineering and other disciplines completed a two-phase architectural design task, first independently and then with external tools (GenAI-assisted condition and control condition using an online repository of existing architectural projects). Design outcomes were evaluated by expert raters, while self-efficacy and cognitive load were self-reported after each phase. Difference-in-differences analyses revealed no overall performance advantage of GenAI across participants; however, subgroup analyses showed that GenAI significantly improved design performance for novice designers. In contrast, general creative self-efficacy declined for students using GenAI. Cognitive load did not differ significantly between conditions, though prompt usage patterns showed that iterative idea generation and visual feedback prompts were linked to greater reductions in cognitive load. These findings suggest that GenAI effectiveness depends on users' prior expertise and interaction strategies through prompting.

Trusted Multi-view Learning under Noisy Supervision

Multi-view learning methods often focus on improving decision accuracy while neglecting the decision uncertainty, which significantly restricts their applications in safety-critical scenarios. To address this, trusted multi-view learning methods estimate prediction uncertainties by learning class distributions from each instance. However, these methods heavily rely on high quality ground-truth labels. This motivates us to delve into a new problem: how to develop a reliable multi-view learning model under the guidance of noisy labels? We propose the Trusted Multi view Noise Refining (TMNR) method to address this challenge by modeling label noise arising from low-quality data features and easily-confused classes. TMNR employs evidential deep neural networks to construct view-specific opinions that capture both beliefs and uncertainty. These opinions are then transformed through noise correlation matrices to align with the noisy supervision, where matrix elements are constrained by sample uncertainty to reflect label reliability. Furthermore, considering the challenge of jointly optimizing the evidence network and noise correlation matrices under noisy supervision, we further propose Trusted Multi-view Noise Re-Refining (TMNR^2 ), which disentangles this complex co-training problem by establishing different training objectives for distinct modules. TMNR^2 identifies potentially mislabeled samples through evidence-label consistency and generates pseudo-labels from neighboring information. By assigning clean samples to optimize evidential networks and noisy samples to guide noise correlation matrices, respectively, TMNR^2 reduces mapping interference and achieves stabilizes training. Experimental results demonstrate that TMNR^2 significantly outperforms baseline methods, with average accuracy improvements of 7% on datasets with 50% label noise.

Dialectical Alignment: Resolving the Tension of 3H and Security Threats of LLMs

With the rise of large language models (LLMs), ensuring they embody the principles of being helpful, honest, and harmless (3H), known as Human Alignment, becomes crucial. While existing alignment methods like RLHF, DPO, etc., effectively fine-tune LLMs to match preferences in the preference dataset, they often lead LLMs to highly receptive human input and external evidence, even when this information is poisoned. This leads to a tendency for LLMs to be Adaptive Chameleons when external evidence conflicts with their parametric memory. This exacerbates the risk of LLM being attacked by external poisoned data, which poses a significant security risk to LLM system applications such as Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). To address the challenge, we propose a novel framework: Dialectical Alignment (DA), which (1) utilizes AI feedback to identify optimal strategies for LLMs to navigate inter-context conflicts and context-memory conflicts with different external evidence in context window (i.e., different ratios of poisoned factual contexts); (2) constructs the SFT dataset as well as the preference dataset based on the AI feedback and strategies above; (3) uses the above datasets for LLM alignment to defense poisoned context attack while preserving the effectiveness of in-context knowledge editing. Our experiments show that the dialectical alignment model improves poisoned data attack defense by 20 and does not require any additional prompt engineering or prior declaration of ``you may be attacked`` to the LLMs' context window.

AC-DiT: Adaptive Coordination Diffusion Transformer for Mobile Manipulation

Recently, mobile manipulation has attracted increasing attention for enabling language-conditioned robotic control in household tasks. However, existing methods still face challenges in coordinating mobile base and manipulator, primarily due to two limitations. On the one hand, they fail to explicitly model the influence of the mobile base on manipulator control, which easily leads to error accumulation under high degrees of freedom. On the other hand, they treat the entire mobile manipulation process with the same visual observation modality (e.g., either all 2D or all 3D), overlooking the distinct multimodal perception requirements at different stages during mobile manipulation. To address this, we propose the Adaptive Coordination Diffusion Transformer (AC-DiT), which enhances mobile base and manipulator coordination for end-to-end mobile manipulation. First, since the motion of the mobile base directly influences the manipulator's actions, we introduce a mobility-to-body conditioning mechanism that guides the model to first extract base motion representations, which are then used as context prior for predicting whole-body actions. This enables whole-body control that accounts for the potential impact of the mobile base's motion. Second, to meet the perception requirements at different stages of mobile manipulation, we design a perception-aware multimodal conditioning strategy that dynamically adjusts the fusion weights between various 2D visual images and 3D point clouds, yielding visual features tailored to the current perceptual needs. This allows the model to, for example, adaptively rely more on 2D inputs when semantic information is crucial for action prediction, while placing greater emphasis on 3D geometric information when precise spatial understanding is required. We validate AC-DiT through extensive experiments on both simulated and real-world mobile manipulation tasks.

Inpaint4DNeRF: Promptable Spatio-Temporal NeRF Inpainting with Generative Diffusion Models

Current Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) can generate photorealistic novel views. For editing 3D scenes represented by NeRF, with the advent of generative models, this paper proposes Inpaint4DNeRF to capitalize on state-of-the-art stable diffusion models (e.g., ControlNet) for direct generation of the underlying completed background content, regardless of static or dynamic. The key advantages of this generative approach for NeRF inpainting are twofold. First, after rough mask propagation, to complete or fill in previously occluded content, we can individually generate a small subset of completed images with plausible content, called seed images, from which simple 3D geometry proxies can be derived. Second and the remaining problem is thus 3D multiview consistency among all completed images, now guided by the seed images and their 3D proxies. Without other bells and whistles, our generative Inpaint4DNeRF baseline framework is general which can be readily extended to 4D dynamic NeRFs, where temporal consistency can be naturally handled in a similar way as our multiview consistency.

PanoWan: Lifting Diffusion Video Generation Models to 360° with Latitude/Longitude-aware Mechanisms

Panoramic video generation enables immersive 360° content creation, valuable in applications that demand scene-consistent world exploration. However, existing panoramic video generation models struggle to leverage pre-trained generative priors from conventional text-to-video models for high-quality and diverse panoramic videos generation, due to limited dataset scale and the gap in spatial feature representations. In this paper, we introduce PanoWan to effectively lift pre-trained text-to-video models to the panoramic domain, equipped with minimal modules. PanoWan employs latitude-aware sampling to avoid latitudinal distortion, while its rotated semantic denoising and padded pixel-wise decoding ensure seamless transitions at longitude boundaries. To provide sufficient panoramic videos for learning these lifted representations, we contribute PanoVid, a high-quality panoramic video dataset with captions and diverse scenarios. Consequently, PanoWan achieves state-of-the-art performance in panoramic video generation and demonstrates robustness for zero-shot downstream tasks. The Incomplete Bridge: How AI Research (Mis)Engages with Psychology

Social sciences have accumulated a rich body of theories and methodologies for investigating the human mind and behaviors, while offering valuable insights into the design and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. Focusing on psychology as a prominent case, this study explores the interdisciplinary synergy between AI and the field by analyzing 1,006 LLM-related papers published in premier AI venues between 2023 and 2025, along with the 2,544 psychology publications they cite. Through our analysis, we identify key patterns of interdisciplinary integration, locate the psychology domains most frequently referenced, and highlight areas that remain underexplored. We further examine how psychology theories/frameworks are operationalized and interpreted, identify common types of misapplication, and offer guidance for more effective incorporation. Our work provides a comprehensive map of interdisciplinary engagement between AI and psychology, thereby facilitating deeper collaboration and advancing AI systems.

Lighting-grounded Video Generation with Renderer-based Agent Reasoning

Diffusion models have achieved remarkable progress in video generation, but their controllability remains a major limitation. Key scene factors such as layout, lighting, and camera trajectory are often entangled or only weakly modeled, restricting their applicability in domains like filmmaking and virtual production where explicit scene control is essential. We present LiVER, a diffusion-based framework for scene-controllable video generation. To achieve this, we introduce a novel framework that conditions video synthesis on explicit 3D scene properties, supported by a new large-scale dataset with dense annotations of object layout, lighting, and camera parameters. Our method disentangles these properties by rendering control signals from a unified 3D representation. We propose a lightweight conditioning module and a progressive training strategy to integrate these signals into a foundational video diffusion model, ensuring stable convergence and high fidelity. Our framework enables a wide range of applications, including image-to-video and video-to-video synthesis where the underlying 3D scene is fully editable. To further enhance usability, we develop a scene agent that automatically translates high-level user instructions into the required 3D control signals. Experiments show that LiVER achieves state-of-the-art photorealism and temporal consistency while enabling precise, disentangled control over scene factors, setting a new standard for controllable video generation.

Stability Under Scrutiny: Benchmarking Representation Paradigms for Online HD Mapping

As one of the fundamental modules in autonomous driving, online high-definition (HD) maps have attracted significant attention due to their cost-effectiveness and real-time capabilities. Since vehicles always cruise in highly dynamic environments, spatial displacement of onboard sensors inevitably causes shifts in real-time HD mapping results, and such instability poses fundamental challenges for downstream tasks. However, existing online map construction models tend to prioritize improving each frame's mapping accuracy, while the mapping stability has not yet been systematically studied. To fill this gap, this paper presents the first comprehensive benchmark for evaluating the temporal stability of online HD mapping models. We propose a multi-dimensional stability evaluation framework with novel metrics for Presence, Localization, and Shape Stability, integrated into a unified mean Average Stability (mAS) score. Extensive experiments on 42 models and variants show that accuracy (mAP) and stability (mAS) represent largely independent performance dimensions. We further analyze the impact of key model design choices on both criteria, identifying architectural and training factors that contribute to high accuracy, high stability, or both. To encourage broader focus on stability, we will release a public benchmark. Our work highlights the importance of treating temporal stability as a core evaluation criterion alongside accuracy, advancing the development of more reliable autonomous driving systems. DETAM: Defending LLMs Against Jailbreak Attacks via Targeted Attention Modification

With the widespread adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs), jailbreak attacks have become an increasingly pressing safety concern. While safety-aligned LLMs can effectively defend against normal harmful queries, they remain vulnerable to such attacks. Existing defense methods primarily rely on fine-tuning or input modification, which often suffer from limited generalization and reduced utility. To address this, we introduce DETAM, a finetuning-free defense approach that improves the defensive capabilities against jailbreak attacks of LLMs via targeted attention modification. Specifically, we analyze the differences in attention scores between successful and unsuccessful defenses to identify the attention heads sensitive to jailbreak attacks. During inference, we reallocate attention to emphasize the user's core intention, minimizing interference from attack tokens. Our experimental results demonstrate that DETAM outperforms various baselines in jailbreak defense and exhibits robust generalization across different attacks and models, maintaining its effectiveness even on in-the-wild jailbreak data. Furthermore, in evaluating the model's utility, we incorporated over-defense datasets, which further validate the superior performance of our approach. Position: Science of AI Evaluation Requires Item-level Benchmark Data

AI evaluations have become the primary evidence for deploying generative AI systems across high-stakes domains. However, current evaluation paradigms often exhibit systemic validity failures. These issues, ranging from unjustified design choices to misaligned metrics, remain intractable without a principled framework for gathering validity evidence and conducting granular diagnostic analysis. In this position paper, we argue that item-level AI benchmark data is essential for establishing a rigorous science of AI evaluation. Item-level analysis enables fine-grained diagnostics and principled validation of benchmarks. We substantiate this position by dissecting current validity failures and revisiting evaluation paradigms across computer science and psychometrics. Through illustrative analyses of item properties and latent constructs, we demonstrate the unique insights afforded by item-level data. To catalyze community-wide adoption, we introduce OpenEval, a growing repository of item-level benchmark data designed supporting evidence-centered AI evaluation.

Embedding Autonomous Agents in Resource-Constrained Robotic Platforms

Many embedded devices operate under resource constraints and in dynamic environments, requiring local decision-making capabilities. Enabling devices to make independent decisions in such environments can improve the responsiveness of the system and reduce the dependence on constant external control. In this work, we integrate an autonomous agent, programmed using AgentSpeak, with a small two-wheeled robot that explores a maze using its own decision-making and sensor data. Experimental results show that the agent successfully solved the maze in 59 seconds using 287 reasoning cycles, with decision phases taking less than one millisecond. These results indicate that the reasoning process is efficient enough for real-time execution on resource-constrained hardware. This integration demonstrates how high-level agent-based control can be applied to resource-constrained embedded systems for autonomous operation.

VIRES: Video Instance Repainting via Sketch and Text Guided Generation

We introduce VIRES, a video instance repainting method with sketch and text guidance, enabling video instance repainting, replacement, generation, and removal. Existing approaches struggle with temporal consistency and accurate alignment with the provided sketch sequence. VIRES leverages the generative priors of text-to-video models to maintain temporal consistency and produce visually pleasing results. We propose the Sequential ControlNet with the standardized self-scaling, which effectively extracts structure layouts and adaptively captures high-contrast sketch details. We further augment the diffusion transformer backbone with the sketch attention to interpret and inject fine-grained sketch semantics. A sketch-aware encoder ensures that repainted results are aligned with the provided sketch sequence. Additionally, we contribute the VireSet, a dataset with detailed annotations tailored for training and evaluating video instance editing methods. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of VIRES, which outperforms state-of-the-art methods in visual quality, temporal consistency, condition alignment, and human ratings. Raising the Bar: Investigating the Values of Large Language Models via Generative Evolving Testing

Warning: Contains harmful model outputs. Despite significant advancements, the propensity of Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate harmful and unethical content poses critical challenges. Measuring value alignment of LLMs becomes crucial for their regulation and responsible deployment. Although numerous benchmarks have been constructed to assess social bias, toxicity, and ethical issues in LLMs, those static benchmarks suffer from evaluation chronoeffect, in which, as models rapidly evolve, existing benchmarks may leak into training data or become saturated, overestimating ever-developing LLMs. To tackle this problem, we propose GETA, a novel generative evolving testing approach based on adaptive testing methods in measurement theory. Unlike traditional adaptive testing methods that rely on a static test item pool, GETA probes the underlying moral boundaries of LLMs by dynamically generating test items tailored to model capability. GETA co-evolves with LLMs by learning a joint distribution of item difficulty and model value conformity, thus effectively addressing evaluation chronoeffect. We evaluated various popular LLMs with GETA and demonstrated that 1) GETA can dynamically create difficulty-tailored test items and 2) GETA's evaluation results are more consistent with models' performance on unseen OOD and i.i.d. items, laying the groundwork for future evaluation paradigms.

Visual Self-paced Iterative Learning for Unsupervised Temporal Action Localization

Recently, temporal action localization (TAL) has garnered significant interest in information retrieval community. However, existing supervised/weakly supervised methods are heavily dependent on extensive labeled temporal boundaries and action categories, which is labor-intensive and time-consuming. Although some unsupervised methods have utilized the ``iteratively clustering and localization'' paradigm for TAL, they still suffer from two pivotal impediments: 1) unsatisfactory video clustering confidence, and 2) unreliable video pseudolabels for model training. To address these limitations, we present a novel self-paced iterative learning model to enhance clustering and localization training simultaneously, thereby facilitating more effective unsupervised TAL. Concretely, we improve the clustering confidence through exploring the contextual feature-robust visual information. Thereafter, we design two (constant- and variable- speed) incremental instance learning strategies for easy-to-hard model training, thus ensuring the reliability of these video pseudolabels and further improving overall localization performance. Extensive experiments on two public datasets have substantiated the superiority of our model over several state-of-the-art competitors.

Registering Neural Radiance Fields as 3D Density Images

No significant work has been done to directly merge two partially overlapping scenes using NeRF representations. Given pre-trained NeRF models of a 3D scene with partial overlapping, this paper aligns them with a rigid transform, by generalizing the traditional registration pipeline, that is, key point detection and point set registration, to operate on 3D density fields. To describe corner points as key points in 3D, we propose to use universal pre-trained descriptor-generating neural networks that can be trained and tested on different scenes. We perform experiments to demonstrate that the descriptor networks can be conveniently trained using a contrastive learning strategy. We demonstrate that our method, as a global approach, can effectively register NeRF models, thus making possible future large-scale NeRF construction by registering its smaller and overlapping NeRFs captured individually.

SPSQL: Step-by-step Parsing Based Framework for Text-to-SQL Generation

Converting text into the structured query language (Text2SQL) is a research hotspot in the field of natural language processing (NLP), which has broad application prospects. In the era of big data, the use of databases has penetrated all walks of life, in which the collected data is large in scale, diverse in variety, and wide in scope, making the data query cumbersome and inefficient, and putting forward higher requirements for the Text2SQL model. In practical applications, the current mainstream end-to-end Text2SQL model is not only difficult to build due to its complex structure and high requirements for training data, but also difficult to adjust due to massive parameters. In addition, the accuracy of the model is hard to achieve the desired result. Based on this, this paper proposes a pipelined Text2SQL method: SPSQL. This method disassembles the Text2SQL task into four subtasks--table selection, column selection, SQL generation, and value filling, which can be converted into a text classification problem, a sequence labeling problem, and two text generation problems, respectively. Then, we construct data formats of different subtasks based on existing data and improve the accuracy of the overall model by improving the accuracy of each submodel. We also use the named entity recognition module and data augmentation to optimize the overall model. We construct the dataset based on the marketing business data of the State Grid Corporation of China. Experiments demonstrate our proposed method achieves the best performance compared with the end-to-end method and other pipeline methods.
