MM-SafetyBench: A Benchmark for Safety Evaluation of Multimodal Large Language Models

The security concerns surrounding Large Language Models (LLMs) have been extensively explored, yet the safety of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) remains understudied. In this paper, we observe that Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) can be easily compromised by query-relevant images, as if the text query itself were malicious. To address this, we introduce MM-SafetyBench, a comprehensive framework designed for conducting safety-critical evaluations of MLLMs against such image-based manipulations. We have compiled a dataset comprising 13 scenarios, resulting in a total of 5,040 text-image pairs. Our analysis across 12 state-of-the-art models reveals that MLLMs are susceptible to breaches instigated by our approach, even when the equipped LLMs have been safety-aligned. In response, we propose a straightforward yet effective prompting strategy to enhance the resilience of MLLMs against these types of attacks. Our work underscores the need for a concerted effort to strengthen and enhance the safety measures of open-source MLLMs against potential malicious exploits. 3D Implicit Transporter for Temporally Consistent Keypoint Discovery

Keypoint-based representation has proven advantageous in various visual and robotic tasks. However, the existing 2D and 3D methods for detecting keypoints mainly rely on geometric consistency to achieve spatial alignment, neglecting temporal consistency. To address this issue, the Transporter method was introduced for 2D data, which reconstructs the target frame from the source frame to incorporate both spatial and temporal information. However, the direct application of the Transporter to 3D point clouds is infeasible due to their structural differences from 2D images. Thus, we propose the first 3D version of the Transporter, which leverages hybrid 3D representation, cross attention, and implicit reconstruction. We apply this new learning system on 3D articulated objects and nonrigid animals (humans and rodents) and show that learned keypoints are spatio-temporally consistent. Additionally, we propose a closed-loop control strategy that utilizes the learned keypoints for 3D object manipulation and demonstrate its superior performance. Deep Adaptive Dimension Reduction for Bayesian Inference in Inverse Problems

Solving high-dimensional PDE-governed inverse problems is often challenging due to complex non-Gaussian posterior distributions, expensive forward model evaluations, and misspecified prior information. To address these issues, we propose a deep adaptive dimension-reduction Bayesian inference framework based on the Variational Flow (VF) model. Since standard normalizing flows are restricted by bijective mappings and cannot directly reduce dimensions, VF overcomes this limitation by integrating VAE-based nonlinear dimension reduction with dual normalizing flows for the latent prior and encoder. This design provides a strictly higher evidence lower bound than VAE and allows more flexible approximation of complex posterior distributions. We further introduce an iterative prior updating strategy that gradually moves the prior mean toward high-probability posterior regions, avoiding manual prior tuning. These components form a closed adaptive loop together with an adaptively fine-tuned Fourier Neural Operator (FNO) surrogate: VF generates posterior-concentrated samples to refine the surrogate, while the updated surrogate further improves posterior inference. Numerical experiments on a 100-dimensional Rosenbrock problem and three standard PDE-governed inverse problems show that our method delivers competitive or superior accuracy compared with MCMC, UKI, and SVGD baselines across all tested configurations, with the most pronounced advantages emerging in challenging scenarios such as high-noise observations and high-dimensional parameter spaces.

Beyond One-Preference-Fits-All Alignment: Multi-Objective Direct Preference Optimization

A single language model, even when aligned with labelers through reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), may not suit all human preferences. Recent approaches therefore prefer customization, gathering multi-dimensional feedback, and creating distinct reward models for each dimension. Different language models are then optimized for various preferences using multi-objective RLHF (MORLHF) with varying reward weights. However, RL fine-tuning is unstable and resource-heavy, especially with diverse and usually conflicting objectives. In this paper, we present Multi-Objective Direct Preference Optimization (MODPO), an RL-free extension of Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) for multiple alignment objectives. Essentially, MODPO folds language modeling directly into reward modeling, training language models as implicit collective reward models that combine all objectives with specific weights. MODPO theoretically yields the same optimal solutions as MORLHF but is practically more stable and efficient. Empirical results in safety alignment and long-form question answering show that MODPO matches or outperforms existing methods, producing a Pareto front of language models catering to diverse preferences with three times less computational resources compared to MORLHF. A Thick-Restart Lanczos algorithm with polynomial filtering for Hermitian eigenvalue problems

Polynomial filtering can provide a highly effective means of computing all eigenvalues of a real symmetric (or complex Hermitian) matrix that are located in a given interval, anywhere in the spectrum. This paper describes a technique for tackling this problem by combining a Thick-Restart version of the Lanczos algorithm with deflation (`locking') and a new type of polynomial filters obtained from a least-squares technique. The resulting algorithm can be utilized in a `spectrum-slicing' approach whereby a very large number of eigenvalues and associated eigenvectors of the matrix are computed by extracting eigenpairs located in different sub-intervals independently from one another.

Discovering Intrinsic Spatial-Temporal Logic Rules to Explain Human Actions

We propose a logic-informed knowledge-driven modeling framework for human movements by analyzing their trajectories. Our approach is inspired by the fact that human actions are usually driven by their intentions or desires, and are influenced by environmental factors such as the spatial relationships with surrounding objects. In this paper, we introduce a set of spatial-temporal logic rules as knowledge to explain human actions. These rules will be automatically discovered from observational data. To learn the model parameters and the rule content, we design an expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm, which treats the rule content as latent variables. The EM algorithm alternates between the E-step and M-step: in the E-step, the posterior distribution over the latent rule content is evaluated; in the M-step, the rule generator and model parameters are jointly optimized by maximizing the current expected log-likelihood. Our model may have a wide range of applications in areas such as sports analytics, robotics, and autonomous cars, where understanding human movements are essential. We demonstrate the model's superior interpretability and prediction performance on pedestrian and NBA basketball player datasets, both achieving promising results.

Low Rank Approximation in $G_0W_0$ Approximation

The single particle energies obtained in a Kohn--Sham density functional theory (DFT) calculation are generally known to be poor approximations to electron excitation energies that are measured in transport, tunneling and spectroscopic experiments such as photo-emission spectroscopy. The correction to these energies can be obtained from the poles of a single particle Green's function derived from a many-body perturbation theory. From a computational perspective, the accuracy and efficiency of such an approach depends on how a self energy term that properly accounts for dynamic screening of electrons is approximated. The $G_0W_0$ approximation is a widely used technique in which the self energy is expressed as the convolution of a non-interacting Green's function ($G_0$) and a screened Coulomb interaction ($W_0$) in the frequency domain. The computational cost associated with such a convolution is high due to the high complexity of evaluating $W_0$ at multiple frequencies. In this paper, we discuss how the cost of $G_0W_0$ calculation can be reduced by constructing a low rank approximation to the frequency dependent part of $W_0$. In particular, we examine the effect of such a low rank approximation on the accuracy of the $G_0W_0$ approximation. We also discuss how the numerical convolution of $G_0$ and $W_0$ can be evaluated efficiently and accurately by using a contour deformation technique with an appropriate choice of the contour.

Elliptic preconditioner for accelerating the self consistent field iteration in Kohn-Sham density functional theory

We discuss techniques for accelerating the self consistent field (SCF) iteration for solving the Kohn-Sham equations. These techniques are all based on constructing approximations to the inverse of the Jacobian associated with a fixed point map satisfied by the total potential. They can be viewed as preconditioners for a fixed point iteration. We point out different requirements for constructing preconditioners for insulating and metallic systems respectively, and discuss how to construct preconditioners to keep the convergence rate of the fixed point iteration independent of the size of the atomistic system. We propose a new preconditioner that can treat insulating and metallic system in a unified way. The new preconditioner, which we call an elliptic preconditioner, is constructed by solving an elliptic partial differential equation. The elliptic preconditioner is shown to be more effective in accelerating the convergence of a fixed point iteration than the existing approaches for large inhomogeneous systems at low temperature.

WeNet 2.0: More Productive End-to-End Speech Recognition Toolkit

Recently, we made available WeNet, a production-oriented end-to-end speech recognition toolkit, which introduces a unified two-pass (U2) framework and a built-in runtime to address the streaming and non-streaming decoding modes in a single model. To further improve ASR performance and facilitate various production requirements, in this paper, we present WeNet 2.0 with four important updates. (1) We propose U2++, a unified two-pass framework with bidirectional attention decoders, which includes the future contextual information by a right-to-left attention decoder to improve the representative ability of the shared encoder and the performance during the rescoring stage. (2) We introduce an n-gram based language model and a WFST-based decoder into WeNet 2.0, promoting the use of rich text data in production scenarios. (3) We design a unified contextual biasing framework, which leverages user-specific context (e.g., contact lists) to provide rapid adaptation ability for production and improves ASR accuracy in both with-LM and without-LM scenarios. (4) We design a unified IO to support large-scale data for effective model training. In summary, the brand-new WeNet 2.0 achieves up to 10\% relative recognition performance improvement over the original WeNet on various corpora and makes available several important production-oriented features.

A robust and efficient implementation of LOBPCG

Locally Optimal Block Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient (LOBPCG) is widely used to compute eigenvalues of large sparse symmetric matrices. The algorithm can suffer from numerical instability if it is not implemented with care. This is especially problematic when the number of eigenpairs to be computed is relatively large. In this paper we propose an improved basis selection strategy based on earlier work by Hetmaniuk and Lehoucq as well as a robust convergence criterion which is backward stable to enhance the robustness. We also suggest several algorithmic optimizations that improve performance of practical LOBPCG implementations. Numerical examples confirm that our approach consistently and significantly outperforms previous competing approaches in both stability and speed.

R2FD2: Fast and Robust Matching of Multimodal Remote Sensing Image via Repeatable Feature Detector and Rotation-invariant Feature Descriptor

Automatically identifying feature correspondences between multimodal images is facing enormous challenges because of the significant differences both in radiation and geometry. To address these problems, we propose a novel feature matching method (named R2FD2) that is robust to radiation and rotation differences. Our R2FD2 is conducted in two critical contributions, consisting of a repeatable feature detector and a rotation-invariant feature descriptor. In the first stage, a repeatable feature detector called the Multi-channel Auto-correlation of the Log-Gabor (MALG) is presented for feature detection, which combines the multi-channel auto-correlation strategy with the Log-Gabor wavelets to detect interest points (IPs) with high repeatability and uniform distribution. In the second stage, a rotation-invariant feature descriptor is constructed, named the Rotation-invariant Maximum index map of the Log-Gabor (RMLG), which consists of two components: fast assignment of dominant orientation and construction of feature representation. In the process of fast assignment of dominant orientation, a Rotation-invariant Maximum Index Map (RMIM) is built to address rotation deformations. Then, the proposed RMLG incorporates the rotation-invariant RMIM with the spatial configuration of DAISY to depict a more discriminative feature representation, which improves RMLG's resistance to radiation and rotation variances.Experimental results show that the proposed R2FD2 outperforms five state-of-the-art feature matching methods, and has superior advantages in adaptability and universality. Moreover, our R2FD2 achieves the accuracy of matching within two pixels and has a great advantage in matching efficiency over other state-of-the-art methods.

GLinSAT: The General Linear Satisfiability Neural Network Layer By Accelerated Gradient Descent

Ensuring that the outputs of neural networks satisfy specific constraints is crucial for applying neural networks to real-life decision-making problems. In this paper, we consider making a batch of neural network outputs satisfy bounded and general linear constraints. We first reformulate the neural network output projection problem as an entropy-regularized linear programming problem. We show that such a problem can be equivalently transformed into an unconstrained convex optimization problem with Lipschitz continuous gradient according to the duality theorem. Then, based on an accelerated gradient descent algorithm with numerical performance enhancement, we present our architecture, GLinSAT, to solve the problem. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first general linear satisfiability layer in which all the operations are differentiable and matrix-factorization-free. Despite the fact that we can explicitly perform backpropagation based on automatic differentiation mechanism, we also provide an alternative approach in GLinSAT to calculate the derivatives based on implicit differentiation of the optimality condition. Experimental results on constrained traveling salesman problems, partial graph matching with outliers, predictive portfolio allocation and power system unit commitment demonstrate the advantages of GLinSAT over existing satisfiability layers. TA-MoE: Topology-Aware Large Scale Mixture-of-Expert Training

Sparsely gated Mixture-of-Expert (MoE) has demonstrated its effectiveness in scaling up deep neural networks to an extreme scale. Despite that numerous efforts have been made to improve the performance of MoE from the model design or system optimization perspective, existing MoE dispatch patterns are still not able to fully exploit the underlying heterogeneous network environments. In this paper, we propose TA-MoE, a topology-aware routing strategy for large-scale MoE trainging, from a model-system co-design perspective, which can dynamically adjust the MoE dispatch pattern according to the network topology. Based on communication modeling, we abstract the dispatch problem into an optimization objective and obtain the approximate dispatch pattern under different topologies. On top of that, we design a topology-aware auxiliary loss, which can adaptively route the data to fit in the underlying topology without sacrificing the model accuracy. Experiments show that TA-MoE can substantially outperform its counterparts on various hardware and model configurations, with roughly 1.01x-1.61x, 1.01x-4.77x, 1.25x-1.54x improvements over the popular DeepSpeed-MoE, FastMoE and FasterMoE.

Preconditioned iterative methods for eigenvalue counts

We describe preconditioned iterative methods for estimating the number of eigenvalues of a Hermitian matrix within a given interval. Such estimation is useful in a number of applications.In particular, it can be used to develop an efficient spectrum-slicing strategy to compute many eigenpairs of a Hermitian matrix. Our method is based on the Lanczos- and Arnoldi-type of iterations. We show that with a properly defined preconditioner, only a few iterations may be needed to obtain a good estimate of the number of eigenvalues within a prescribed interval. We also demonstrate that the number of iterations required by the proposed preconditioned schemes is independent of the size and condition number of the matrix. The efficiency of the methods is illustrated on several problems arising from density functional theory based electronic structure calculations.

Computing the density of states for optical spectra by low-rank and QTT tensor approximation

In this paper, we introduce a new interpolation scheme to approximate the density of states (DOS) for a class of rank-structured matrices with application to the Tamm-Dancoff approximation (TDA) of the Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE). The presented approach for approximating the DOS is based on two main techniques. First, we propose an economical method for calculating the traces of parametric matrix resolvents at interpolation points by taking advantage of the block-diagonal plus low-rank matrix structure described in [6, 3] for the BSE/TDA problem. Second, we show that a regularized or smoothed DOS discretized on a fine grid of size $N$ can be accurately represented by a low rank quantized tensor train (QTT) tensor that can be determined through a least squares fitting procedure. The latter provides good approximation properties for strictly oscillating DOS functions with multiple gaps, and requires asymptotically much fewer ($O(\log N)$) functional calls compared with the full grid size $N$. This approach allows us to overcome the computational difficulties of the traditional schemes by avoiding both the need of stochastic sampling and interpolation by problem independent functions like polynomials etc. Numerical tests indicate that the QTT approach yields accurate recovery of DOS associated with problems that contain relatively large spectral gaps. The QTT tensor rank only weakly depends on the size of a molecular system which paves the way for treating large-scale spectral problems.

A hybrid approach for cooperative output regulation with sampled compensator

This work investigates the cooperative output regulation problem of linear multi-agent systems with hybrid sampled data control. Due to the limited data sensing and communication, in many practical situations, only sampled data are available for the cooperation of multi-agent systems. To overcome this problem, a distributed hybrid controller is presented for the cooperative output regulation, and cooperative output regulation is achieved by well designed state feedback law. Then it proposed a method for the designing of sampled data controller to solve the cooperative output regulation problem with continuous linear systems and discrete-time communication data. Finally, numerical simulation example for cooperative tracking and a simulation example for optimal control of micro-grids are proposed to illustrate the result of the sampled data control law.

Multi-view Multi-label Anomaly Network Traffic Classification based on MLP-Mixer Neural Network

Network traffic classification is the basis of many network security applications and has attracted enough attention in the field of cyberspace security. Existing network traffic classification based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) often emphasizes local patterns of traffic data while ignoring global information associations. In this paper, we propose an MLP-Mixer based multi-view multi-label neural network for network traffic classification. Compared with the existing CNN-based methods, our method adopts the MLP-Mixer structure, which is more in line with the structure of the packet than the conventional convolution operation. In our method, one packet is divided into the packet header and the packet body, together with the flow features of the packet as input from different views. We utilize a multi-label setting to learn different scenarios simultaneously to improve the classification performance by exploiting the correlations between different scenarios. Taking advantage of the above characteristics, we propose an end-to-end network traffic classification method. We conduct experiments on three public datasets, and the experimental results show that our method can achieve superior performance.

Learning from Yesterday's Error: An Efficient Online Learning Method for Traffic Demand Prediction

Accurately predicting short-term traffic demand is critical for intelligent transportation systems. While deep learning models achieve strong performance under stationary conditions, their accuracy often degrades significantly when faced with distribution shifts caused by external events or evolving urban dynamics. Frequent model retraining to adapt to such changes incurs prohibitive computational costs, especially for large-scale or foundation models. To address this challenge, we propose FORESEE (Forecasting Online with Residual Smoothing and Ensemble Experts), a lightweight online adaptation framework that is accurate, robust, and computationally efficient. FORESEE operates without any parameter updates to the base model. Instead, it corrects today's forecast in each region using yesterday's prediction error, stabilized through exponential smoothing guided by a mixture-of-experts mechanism that adapts to recent error dynamics. Moreover, an adaptive spatiotemporal smoothing component propagates error signals across neighboring regions and time slots, capturing coherent shifts in demand patterns. Extensive experiments on seven real-world datasets with three backbone models demonstrate that FORESEE consistently improves prediction accuracy, maintains robustness even when distribution shifts are minimal (avoiding performance degradation), and achieves the lowest computational overhead among existing online methods. By enabling real-time adaptation of traffic forecasting models with negligible computational cost, FORESEE paves the way for deploying reliable, up-to-date prediction systems in dynamic urban environments. Joint Optimization of Training and Inference in Federated Edge Learning via Constrained Multi-Objective Deep Reinforcement Learning

Federated edge learning (FEEL) has recently emerged as a promising paradigm for achieving edge intelligence (EI) via enabling collaborative model training across edge devices while protecting data privacy. In this paper, we put forth an online optimization framework that jointly manages federated training and inference on resource-constrained edge devices. We introduce a tandem-queue-inspired conversion mechanism that bridges inference requests and training data, and further incorporate both data and model freshness into the accuracy formulation to capture temporal dynamics in real-world environments. To maximize inference accuracy while minimizing latency and energy consumption, the mode selections, communication, and computation resource allocations of edge devices are jointly optimized. We formulate this optimization as a multi-objective optimization problem, which is NP-hard and further complicated by the online setting. To address these challenges, we transform the problem into a multi-objective Markov decision process (MOMDP) and develop a \underline{c}onstrained \underline{m}ulti-\underline{o}bjective \underline{p}roximal \underline{p}olicy \underline{o}ptimization (C-MOPPO) algorithm. Specifically, C-MOPPO first learns a set of policies with different preferences across three objectives, then leverages constrained policy optimization to enrich the Pareto front and obtain high-quality, dense solutions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that C-MOPPO achieves well-balanced trade-offs among objectives and significantly outperforms baselines under various system configurations.

Attacks, Defenses and Evaluations for LLM Conversation Safety: A Survey

Our goal is to provide a structured summary that enhances understanding of LLM conversation safety and encourages further investigation into this important subject. MaskMA: Towards Zero-Shot Multi-Agent Decision Making with Mask-Based Collaborative Learning

Building a single generalist agent with strong zero-shot capability has recently sparked significant advancements. However, extending this capability to multi-agent decision making scenarios presents challenges. Most current works struggle with zero-shot transfer, due to two challenges particular to the multi-agent settings: (a) a mismatch between centralized training and decentralized execution; and (b) difficulties in creating generalizable representations across diverse tasks due to varying agent numbers and action spaces. To overcome these challenges, we propose a Mask-Based collaborative learning framework for Multi-Agent decision making (MaskMA). Firstly, we propose to randomly mask part of the units and collaboratively learn the policies of unmasked units to handle the mismatch. In addition, MaskMA integrates a generalizable action representation by dividing the action space into intrinsic actions solely related to the unit itself and interactive actions involving interactions with other units. This flexibility allows MaskMA to tackle tasks with varying agent numbers and thus different action spaces. Extensive experiments in SMAC reveal MaskMA, with a single model trained on 11 training maps, can achieve an impressive 77.8% average zero-shot win rate on 60 unseen test maps by decentralized execution, while also performing effectively on other types of downstream tasks (e.g., varied policies collaboration, ally malfunction, and ad hoc team play).

Inference-Time Language Model Alignment via Integrated Value Guidance

Large language models are typically fine-tuned to align with human preferences, but tuning large models is computationally intensive and complex. In this work, we introduce $\textit{Integrated Value Guidance}$ (IVG), a method that uses implicit and explicit value functions to guide language model decoding at token and chunk-level respectively, efficiently aligning large language models purely at inference time. This approach circumvents the complexities of direct fine-tuning and outperforms traditional methods. Empirically, we demonstrate the versatility of IVG across various tasks. In controlled sentiment generation and summarization tasks, our method significantly improves the alignment of large models using inference-time guidance from $\texttt{gpt2}$-based value functions. Moreover, in a more challenging instruction-following benchmark AlpacaEval 2.0, we show that both specifically tuned and off-the-shelf value functions greatly improve the length-controlled win rates of large models against $\texttt{gpt-4-turbo}$ (e.g., $19.51\% \rightarrow 26.51\%$ for $\texttt{Mistral-7B-Instruct-v0.2}$ and $25.58\% \rightarrow 33.75\%$ for $\texttt{Mixtral-8x7B-Instruct-v0.1}$ with Tulu guidance).

Safety of Multimodal Large Language Models on Images and Texts

Attracted by the impressive power of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs), the public is increasingly utilizing them to improve the efficiency of daily work. Nonetheless, the vulnerabilities of MLLMs to unsafe instructions bring huge safety risks when these models are deployed in real-world scenarios. In this paper, we systematically survey current efforts on the evaluation, attack, and defense of MLLMs' safety on images and text. We begin with introducing the overview of MLLMs on images and text and understanding of safety, which helps researchers know the detailed scope of our survey. Then, we review the evaluation datasets and metrics for measuring the safety of MLLMs. Next, we comprehensively present attack and defense techniques related to MLLMs' safety. Parallel energy-stable phase field crystal simulations based on domain decomposition methods

In this paper, we present a parallel numerical algorithm for solving the phase field crystal equation. In the algorithm, a semi-implicit finite difference scheme is derived based on the discrete variational derivative method. Theoretical analysis is provided to show that the scheme is unconditionally energy stable and can achieve second-order accuracy in both space and time. An adaptive time step strategy is adopted such that the time step size can be flexibly controlled based on the dynamical evolution of the problem. At each time step, a nonlinear algebraic system is constructed from the discretization of the phase field crystal equation and solved by a domain decomposition based, parallel Newton--Krylov--Schwarz method with improved boundary conditions for subdomain problems. Numerical experiments with several two and three dimensional test cases show that the proposed algorithm is second-order accurate in both space and time, energy stable with large time steps, and highly scalable to over ten thousands processor cores on the Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer.

Emulated Disalignment: Safety Alignment for Large Language Models May Backfire!

Large language models (LLMs) undergo safety alignment to ensure safe conversations with humans. However, this paper introduces a training-free attack method capable of reversing safety alignment, converting the outcomes of stronger alignment into greater potential for harm by accessing only LLM output token distributions. Specifically, our method achieves this reversal by contrasting the output token distribution of a safety-aligned language model (e.g., Llama-2-chat) against its pre-trained version (e.g., Llama-2), so that the token predictions are shifted towards the opposite direction of safety alignment. We name this method emulated disalignment (ED) because sampling from this contrastive distribution provably emulates the result of fine-tuning to minimize a safety reward. Our experiments with ED across three evaluation datasets and four model families (Llama-1, Llama-2, Mistral, and Alpaca) show that ED doubles the harmfulness of pre-trained models and outperforms strong baselines, achieving the highest harmful rates in 43 out of 48 evaluation subsets by a large margin. Eventually, given ED's reliance on language model output token distributions, which particularly compromises open-source models, our findings highlight the need to reassess the open accessibility of language models, even if they have been safety-aligned. RoboScript: Code Generation for Free-Form Manipulation Tasks across Real and Simulation

Rapid progress in high-level task planning and code generation for open-world robot manipulation has been witnessed in Embodied AI. However, previous studies put much effort into general common sense reasoning and task planning capabilities of large-scale language or multi-modal models, relatively little effort on ensuring the deployability of generated code on real robots, and other fundamental components of autonomous robot systems including robot perception, motion planning, and control. To bridge this ``ideal-to-real'' gap, this paper presents \textbf{RobotScript}, a platform for 1) a deployable robot manipulation pipeline powered by code generation; and 2) a code generation benchmark for robot manipulation tasks in free-form natural language. The RobotScript platform addresses this gap by emphasizing the unified interface with both simulation and real robots, based on abstraction from the Robot Operating System (ROS), ensuring syntax compliance and simulation validation with Gazebo. We demonstrate the adaptability of our code generation framework across multiple robot embodiments, including the Franka and UR5 robot arms, and multiple grippers. Additionally, our benchmark assesses reasoning abilities for physical space and constraints, highlighting the differences between GPT-3.5, GPT-4, and Gemini in handling complex physical interactions. Finally, we present a thorough evaluation on the whole system, exploring how each module in the pipeline: code generation, perception, motion planning, and even object geometric properties, impact the overall performance of the system.

SilverTorch: A Unified Model-based System to Democratize Large-Scale Recommendation on GPUs

Serving deep learning based recommendation models (DLRM) at scale is challenging. Existing approaches rely on dedicated ANN indexing and filtering services on CPUs, suffering from non-negligible costs and missing co-design opportunities. Such inefficiency makes them difficult to support complex model architectures, such as learned similarities and multi-task retrieval. In this paper, we present SilverTorch, a model-based serving system that brings all components into one unified model. It unifies model serving by replacing standalone indexing and filtering services with model layers. We propose a model-based GPU Bloom index for feature filtering and a fused Int8 ANN kernel for nearest neighbor search. Through co-design of the ANN search and feature filtering, we reduce GPU memory usage and eliminate computation. Benefiting from this design, we scale up retrieval by introducing an OverArch scoring layer and a multi-task retrieval with a Value Model to aggregate scores. These advancements improve the retrieval accuracy and enable future studies for serving more complex models. Our evaluation on industry-scale datasets show that SilverTorch achieves up to 23.7\times higher throughput compared to the state-of-the-art approaches. We also demonstrate that SilverTorch solution is 13.35\times more cost-efficient than CPU-based solution while improving accuracy via serving more complex models. SilverTorch is deployed at scale, serving hundreds of models online and supporting recommendation for diverse applications.

REFLECTOR: Internalizing Step-wise Reflection against Indirect Jailbreak

While Large Language Models (LLMs) demonstrate remarkable capabilities, they remain susceptible to sophisticated, multi-step jailbreak attacks that circumvent conventional surface-level safety alignment by exploiting the internal generation process. To address these vulnerabilities, we propose Reflector, a principled two-stage framework that internalizes self-reflection within the generation trajectory. Reflector first leverages teacher-guided generation to produce high-quality reflection data for supervised fine-tuning (SFT), establishing structured reflection patterns. It subsequently uses Reinforcement Learning (RL) with outcome-driven and reward-validity supervision to instill robust, autonomous self-reflection capabilities. Empirical results show that Reflector achieves Defense Success Rates (DSR) exceeding 90% against complex indirect attacks while generalizing robustly across diverse threat scenarios. Notably, the framework enhances both task-specific and general utility, yielding a 5.85% gain on GSM8K alongside improved performance on knowledge-intensive benchmarks. By internalizing trajectory-level safety, Reflector overcomes the fundamental limitations of surface alignment without significant computational overhead, offering an efficient and scalable solution for the development of safe and capable LLMs.

Learning nonlinear integral operators via Recurrent Neural Networks and its application in solving Integro-Differential Equations

In this paper, we propose using LSTM-RNNs (Long Short-Term Memory-Recurrent Neural Networks) to learn and represent nonlinear integral operators that appear in nonlinear integro-differential equations (IDEs). The LSTM-RNN representation of the nonlinear integral operator allows us to turn a system of nonlinear integro-differential equations into a system of ordinary differential equations for which many efficient solvers are available. Furthermore, because the use of LSTM-RNN representation of the nonlinear integral operator in an IDE eliminates the need to perform a numerical integration in each numerical time evolution step, the overall temporal cost of the LSTM-RNN-based IDE solver can be reduced to $O(n_T)$ from $O(n_T^2)$ if a $n_T$-step trajectory is to be computed. We illustrate the efficiency and robustness of this LSTM-RNN-based numerical IDE solver with a model problem. Additionally, we highlight the generalizability of the learned integral operator by applying it to IDEs driven by different external forces. As a practical application, we show how this methodology can effectively solve the Dyson's equation for quantum many-body systems.

TreeEval: Benchmark-Free Evaluation of Large Language Models through Tree Planning

Recently, numerous new benchmarks have been established to evaluate the performance of large language models (LLMs) via either computing a holistic score or employing another LLM as a judge. However, these approaches suffer from data leakage due to the open access of the benchmark and inflexible evaluation process. To address this issue, we introduce $\textbf{TreeEval}$, a benchmark-free evaluation method for LLMs that let a high-performance LLM host an irreproducible evaluation session and essentially avoids the data leakage. Moreover, this LLM performs as an examiner to raise up a series of questions under a topic with a tree planing strategy, which considers the current evaluation status to decide the next question generation and ensures the completeness and efficiency of the evaluation process. We evaluate $6$ models of different parameter sizes, including $7$B, $13$B, and $33$B, and ultimately achieved the highest correlation coefficient with AlpacaEval2.0 using only around $45$ questions. Data Generation Scheme for Thermal Modality with Edge-Guided Adversarial Conditional Diffusion Model

In challenging low light and adverse weather conditions,thermal vision algorithms,especially object detection,have exhibited remarkable potential,contrasting with the frequent struggles encountered by visible vision algorithms. Nevertheless,the efficacy of thermal vision algorithms driven by deep learning models remains constrained by the paucity of available training data samples. To this end,this paper introduces a novel approach termed the edge guided conditional diffusion model. This framework aims to produce meticulously aligned pseudo thermal images at the pixel level,leveraging edge information extracted from visible images. By utilizing edges as contextual cues from the visible domain,the diffusion model achieves meticulous control over the delineation of objects within the generated images. To alleviate the impacts of those visible-specific edge information that should not appear in the thermal domain,a two-stage modality adversarial training strategy is proposed to filter them out from the generated images by differentiating the visible and thermal modality. Extensive experiments on LLVIP demonstrate ECDM s superiority over existing state-of-the-art approaches in terms of image generation quality.

RELift: Learned Coarse-to-Fine Propagators for Time-Dependent PDEs with Applications to Electron Dynamics

We present RELift (Restrict, Evolve, Lift), a two-phase learning framework that couples coarse-grid numerical solvers with neural operators to super-resolve and forecast fine-grid dynamics for time-dependent partial differential equations (PDEs). In Phase 1, RELift learns a super-resolution operator that maps the solution on a coarse grid to a fine grid. In Phase 2, this learned operator is composed with a coarse-grid numerical integrator to construct an effective fine-grid propagator for the governing equation. We benchmark RELift on three canonical two-dimensional PDEs of increasing dynamical complexity -- the heat equation, the wave equation, and the incompressible Navier--Stokes equations -- and we further demonstrate its performance on a kinetic electron dynamics case study via the 1D1V Vlasov--Poisson system. Across all examples, RELift delivers high-fidelity super-resolution (Phase 1) and accurate long-horizon rollouts (Phase 2), outperforming standard super-resolution and neural operator baselines in both field-level error metrics and physics-relevant diagnostics. Finally, we provide error analysis of the effective fine-grid propagator, characterizing how approximation errors accumulate over time and explaining the observed numerical stability of the RELift framework.

Modality-Decoupled RGB-Thermal Object Detector via Query Fusion

The advantage of RGB-Thermal (RGB-T) detection lies in its ability to perform modality fusion and integrate cross-modality complementary information, enabling robust detection under diverse illumination and weather conditions. However, under extreme conditions where one modality exhibits poor quality and disturbs detection, modality separation is necessary to mitigate the impact of noise. To address this problem, we propose a Modality-Decoupled RGB-T detection framework with Query Fusion (MDQF) to balance modality complementation and separation. In this framework, DETR-like detectors are employed as separate branches for the RGB and TIR images, with query fusion interspersed between the two branches in each refinement stage. Herein, query fusion is performed by feeding the high-quality queries from one branch to the other one after query selection and adaptation. This design effectively excludes the degraded modality and corrects the predictions using high-quality queries. Moreover, the decoupled framework allows us to optimize each individual branch with unpaired RGB or TIR images, eliminating the need for paired RGB-T data. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach delivers superior performance to existing RGB-T detectors and achieves better modality independence.

Aging Aware Adaptive Voltage Scaling for Reliable and Efficient AI Accelerators

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have showcased remarkable performance across various tasks and are widely deployed on AI accelerators fabricated in advanced technology nodes for efficiency. As aging effects become more pronounced, timing and voltage guardbands are increasingly applied. Aging-aware adaptive voltage scaling (AVS), which adjusts supply voltage based on on-chip aging scenarios, has emerged as a promising solution to avoid excessive guardbanding. However, conventional AVS techniques overlook the inherent resilience of DNNs and frequently raise the supply voltage unnecessarily, thereby exacerbating aging and increasing power consumption. To enable reliable and efficient AI inference with AVS, in this paper, we develop an accurate aging prediction framework that incorporates historical effects and iterative extrapolation for full-lifetime modeling. Building on this framework, we propose a fault-tolerant voltage scaling policy that exploits DNN resilience and defers voltage increases accordingly. Experiments show that our framework mitigates the pessimism of maximum-voltage baselines, reducing predicted threshold voltage shift (ΔVth) by 19.4% for PMOS and 19.1% for NMOS, respectively. Furthermore, evaluation on representative DNN workloads demonstrates that our optimization reduces aging degradation by up to 45.8% (NMOS) and 30.6% (PMOS) while achieving 14.0% average lifetime power savings compared to resilience-agnostic methods.

LongDPM: Overlap-Aware 4D Reconstruction from Long Monocular Videos

Recovering a dynamic 3D scene from a long monocular video is crucial for dense geometry, camera motion, and temporal correspondence to remain consistent in a shared coordinate system. Existing methods face two key challenges: (1) feed-forward reconstruction models provide accurate local predictions but are limited to short clips, and (2) long-range trackers preserve correspondences without producing dense sequence-level reconstruction. This paper presents LongDPM, a novel overlap-aware framework for scalable long-range monocular dynamic reconstruction. First, LongDPM processes long videos in overlapping chunks, keeping inference memory bounded by the chunk length. Second, it connects chunk-local coordinate systems through confidence-weighted registration with static-aware overlap abstraction. Third, it associates dynamic identities across chunk boundaries and fuses matched trajectories to recover coherent long-range 3D motion. Experimental results demonstrate that LongDPM achieves superior long-range reconstruction and tracking performance, reducing dense tracking EPE over V-DPM on PointOdyssey, Kubric-F, and Kubric-G, while obtaining the best TUM-dynamics ATE for camera pose estimation.

Discovering Physics-Informed Neural Networks Model for Solving Partial Differential Equations through Evolutionary Computation

In recent years, the researches about solving partial differential equations (PDEs) based on artificial neural network have attracted considerable attention. In these researches, the neural network models are usually designed depend on human experience or trial and error. Despite the emergence of several model searching methods, these methods primarily concentrate on optimizing the hyperparameters of fully connected neural network model based on the framework of physics-informed neural networks (PINNs), and the corresponding search spaces are relatively restricted, thereby limiting the exploration of superior models. This article proposes an evolutionary computation method aimed at discovering the PINNs model with higher approximation accuracy and faster convergence rate. In addition to searching the numbers of layers and neurons per hidden layer, this method concurrently explores the optimal shortcut connections between the layers and the novel parametric activation functions expressed by the binary trees. In evolution, the strategy about dynamic population size and training epochs (DPSTE) is adopted, which significantly increases the number of models to be explored and facilitates the discovery of models with fast convergence rate. In experiments, the performance of different models that are searched through Bayesian optimization, random search and evolution is compared in solving Klein-Gordon, Burgers, and Lamé equations. The experimental results affirm that the models discovered by the proposed evolutionary computation method generally exhibit superior approximation accuracy and convergence rate, and these models also show commendable generalization performance with respect to the source term, initial and boundary conditions, equation coefficient and computational domain. APRVOS: 1st Place Winner of 5th PVUW MeViS-Audio Track

This report presents an Audio-aware Referring Video Object Segmentation (Ref-VOS) pipeline tailored to the MEVIS\_Audio setting, where the referring expression is provided in spoken form rather than as clean text. Compared with a standard Sa2VA-based Ref-VOS pipeline, the proposed system introduces two additional front-end stages: speech transcription and visual existence verification. Specifically, we first employ VibeVoice-ASR to convert long-form spoken input into a structured textual transcript. Since audio-derived queries are inherently noisy and may describe entities that are not visually present in the video, we then introduce an Omni-based judgment module to determine whether the transcribed target can be grounded in the visual content. If the target is judged to be absent, the pipeline terminates early and outputs all-zero masks. Otherwise, the transcript is transformed into a segmentation-oriented prompt and fed into Sa2VA to obtain a coarse mask trajectory over the full video. Importantly, this trajectory is treated as an initial semantic hypothesis rather than a final prediction. On top of it, an agentic refinement layer evaluates query reliability, temporal relevance, anchor quality, and potential error sources, and may invoke SAM3 to improve spatial boundary precision and temporal consistency. The resulting framework explicitly decomposes the MEVIS\_Audio task into audio-to-text conversion, visual existence verification, coarse video segmentation, and agent-guided refinement. Such a staged design is substantially more appropriate for audio-conditioned Ref-VOS than directly sending noisy ASR outputs into a segmentation model.

RePO: Replay-Enhanced Policy Optimization

Reinforcement learning (RL) is vital for optimizing large language models (LLMs). Recent Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) estimates advantages using multiple on-policy outputs per prompt, leading to high computational costs and low data efficiency. To address this, we introduce Replay-Enhanced Policy Optimization (RePO), which leverages diverse replay strategies to retrieve off-policy samples from a replay buffer, allowing policy optimization based on a broader and more diverse set of samples for each prompt. Experiments on five LLMs across seven mathematical reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that RePO achieves absolute average performance gains of $18.4$ and $4.1$ points for Qwen2.5-Math-1.5B and Qwen3-1.7B, respectively, compared to GRPO. Further analysis indicates that RePO increases computational cost by $15\%$ while raising the number of effective optimization steps by $48\%$ for Qwen3-1.7B, with both on-policy and off-policy sample numbers set to $8$. Multi-proposal Collaboration and Multi-task Training for Weakly-supervised Video Moment Retrieval

This study focuses on weakly-supervised Video Moment Retrieval (VMR), aiming to identify a moment semantically similar to the given query within an untrimmed video using only video-level correspondences, without relying on temporal annotations during training. Previous methods either aggregate predictions for all instances in the video, or indirectly address the task by proposing reconstructions for the query. However, these methods often produce low-quality temporal proposals, struggle with distinguishing misaligned moments in the same video, or lack stability due to a reliance on a single auxiliary task. To address these limitations, we present a novel weakly-supervised method called Multi-proposal Collaboration and Multi-task Training (MCMT). Initially, we generate multiple proposals and derive corresponding learnable Gaussian masks from them. These masks are then combined to create a high-quality positive sample mask, highlighting video clips most relevant to the query. Concurrently, we classify other clips in the same video as the easy negative sample and the entire video as the hard negative sample. During training, we introduce forward and inverse masked query reconstruction tasks to impose more substantial constraints on the network, promoting more robust and stable retrieval performance. Extensive experiments on two standard benchmarks affirm the effectiveness of the proposed method in VMR.

TEFL: Prediction-Residual-Guided Rolling Forecasting for Multi-Horizon Time Series

Time series forecasting plays a critical role in domains such as transportation, energy, and meteorology. Despite their success, modern deep forecasting models are typically trained to minimize point-wise prediction loss without leveraging the rich information contained in past prediction residuals from rolling forecasts - residuals that reflect persistent biases, unmodeled patterns, or evolving dynamics. We propose TEFL (Temporal Error Feedback Learning), a unified learning framework that explicitly incorporates these historical residuals into the forecasting pipeline during both training and evaluation. To make this practical in deep multi-step settings, we address three key challenges: (1) selecting observable multi-step residuals under the partial observability of rolling forecasts, (2) integrating them through a lightweight low-rank adapter to preserve efficiency and prevent overfitting, and (3) designing a two-stage training procedure that jointly optimizes the base forecaster and error module. Extensive experiments across 10 real-world datasets and 5 backbone architectures show that TEFL consistently improves accuracy, reducing MAE by 5-10% on average. Moreover, it demonstrates strong robustness under abrupt changes and distribution shifts, with error reductions exceeding 10% (up to 19.5%) in challenging scenarios. By embedding residual-based feedback directly into the learning process, TEFL offers a simple, general, and effective enhancement to modern deep forecasting systems.

SkillSafetyBench: Evaluating Agent Safety under Skill-Facing Attack Surfaces

Reusable skills are becoming a common interface for extending large language model agents, packaging procedural guidance with access to files, tools, memory, and execution environments. However, this modularity introduces attack surfaces that are largely missed by existing safety evaluations: even when the user request is benign, task-relevant skill materials or local artifacts can steer an agent toward unsafe actions. We present SkillSafetyBench, a runnable benchmark for evaluating such skill-mediated safety failures. SkillSafetyBench includes 155 adversarial cases across 47 tasks, 6 risk domains, and 30 safety categories, each evaluated with a case-specific rule-based verifier. Experiments with multiple CLI agents and model backends show that localized non-user attacks can consistently induce unsafe behavior, with distinct failure patterns across domains, attack methods, and scaffold-model pairings. Our findings suggest that agent safety depends not only on model-level alignment, but also on how agents interpret skills, trust workflow context, and act through executable environments.

TrinityGuard: A Unified Framework for Safeguarding Multi-Agent Systems

With the rapid development of LLM-based multi-agent systems (MAS), their significant safety and security concerns have emerged, which introduce novel risks going beyond single agents or LLMs. Despite attempts to address these issues, the existing literature lacks a cohesive safeguarding system specialized for MAS risks. In this work, we introduce TrinityGuard, a comprehensive safety evaluation and monitoring framework for LLM-based MAS, grounded in the OWASP standards. Specifically, TrinityGuard encompasses a three-tier fine-grained risk taxonomy that identifies 20 risk types, covering single-agent vulnerabilities, inter-agent communication threats, and system-level emergent hazards. Designed for scalability across various MAS structures and platforms, TrinityGuard is organized in a trinity manner, involving an MAS abstraction layer that can be adapted to any MAS structures, an evaluation layer containing risk-specific test modules, alongside runtime monitor agents coordinated by a unified LLM Judge Factory. During Evaluation, TrinityGuard executes curated attack probes to generate detailed vulnerability reports for each risk type, where monitor agents analyze structured execution traces and issue real-time alerts, enabling both pre-development evaluation and runtime monitoring. We further formalize these safety metrics and present detailed case studies across various representative MAS examples, showcasing the versatility and reliability of TrinityGuard. Reinforcement Logic Rule Learning for Temporal Point Processes

We propose a framework that can incrementally expand the explanatory temporal logic rule set to explain the occurrence of temporal events. Leveraging the temporal point process modeling and learning framework, the rule content and weights will be gradually optimized until the likelihood of the observational event sequences is optimal. The proposed algorithm alternates between a master problem, where the current rule set weights are updated, and a subproblem, where a new rule is searched and included to best increase the likelihood. The formulated master problem is convex and relatively easy to solve using continuous optimization, whereas the subproblem requires searching the huge combinatorial rule predicate and relationship space. To tackle this challenge, we propose a neural search policy to learn to generate the new rule content as a sequence of actions. The policy parameters will be trained end-to-end using the reinforcement learning framework, where the reward signals can be efficiently queried by evaluating the subproblem objective. The trained policy can be used to generate new rules in a controllable way. We evaluate our methods on both synthetic and real healthcare datasets, obtaining promising results.

Logos: An evolvable reasoning engine for rational molecular design

The discovery and design of functional molecules remain central challenges across chemistry,biology, and materials science. While recent advances in machine learning have accelerated molecular property prediction and candidate generation, existing models tend to excel either in physical fidelity without transparent reasoning, or in flexible reasoning without guarantees of chemical validity. This imbalance limits the reliability of artificial intelligence systems in real scientific design workflows.Here we present Logos, a compact molecular reasoning model that integrates multi-step logical reasoning with strict chemical consistency. Logos is trained using a staged strategy that first exposes the model to explicit reasoning examples linking molecular descriptions to structural decisions, and then progressively aligns these reasoning patterns with molecular representations. In a final training phase, chemical rules and invariants are incorporated directly into the optimization objective, guiding the model toward chemically valid outputs. Across multiple benchmark datasets, Logos achieves strong performance in both structural accuracy and chemical validity, matching or surpassing substantially larger general-purpose language models while operating with a fraction of their parameters. Beyond benchmark evaluation, the model exhibits stable behaviour in molecular optimization tasks involving multiple, potentially conflicting constraints. By explicitly exposing intermediate reasoning steps, Logos enables human inspection and assessment of the design logic underlying each generated structure. These results indicate that jointly optimizing for reasoning structure and physical consistency offers a practical pathway toward reliable and interpretable AI systems for molecular science, supporting closer integration of artificial intelligence into scientific discovery processes.

KidneyTalk-open: No-code Deployment of a Private Large Language Model with Medical Documentation-Enhanced Knowledge Database for Kidney Disease

Privacy-preserving medical decision support for kidney disease requires localized deployment of large language models (LLMs) while maintaining clinical reasoning capabilities. Current solutions face three challenges: 1) Cloud-based LLMs pose data security risks; 2) Local model deployment demands technical expertise; 3) General LLMs lack mechanisms to integrate medical knowledge. Retrieval-augmented systems also struggle with medical document processing and clinical usability. We developed KidneyTalk-open, a desktop system integrating three technical components: 1) No-code deployment of state-of-the-art (SOTA) open-source LLMs (such as DeepSeek-r1, Qwen2.5) via local inference engine; 2) Medical document processing pipeline combining context-aware chunking and intelligent filtering; 3) Adaptive Retrieval and Augmentation Pipeline (AddRep) employing agents collaboration for improving the recall rate of medical documents. A graphical interface was designed to enable clinicians to manage medical documents and conduct AI-powered consultations without technical expertise. Experimental validation on 1,455 challenging nephrology exam questions demonstrates AddRep's effectiveness: achieving 29.1% accuracy (+8.1% over baseline) with intelligent knowledge integration, while maintaining robustness through 4.9% rejection rate to suppress hallucinations. Comparative case studies with the mainstream products (AnythingLLM, Chatbox, GPT4ALL) demonstrate KidneyTalk-open's superior performance in real clinical query. KidneyTalk-open represents the first no-code medical LLM system enabling secure documentation-enhanced medical Q&A on desktop. Its designs establishes a new framework for privacy-sensitive clinical AI applications. The system significantly lowers technical barriers while improving evidence traceability, enabling more medical staff or patients to use SOTA open-source LLMs conveniently.

King Chasing Problem in Chinese Chess is NP-hard

We prove that king chasing problem in Chinese Chess is NP-hard when generalized to $n\times n$ boards. `King chasing' is a frequently-used strategy in Chinese Chess, which means that the player has to continuously check the opponent in every move until finally checkmating the opponent's king. The problem is to determine which player has a winning strategy in generalized Chinese Chess, under the constraints of king chasing. Obviously, it is a sub-problem of generalized Chinese Chess problem. We prove that king chasing problem in Chinese Chess is NP-hard by reducing from the classic NP-complete problem 3-SAT.

GUIM -- General User and Item Embedding with Mixture of Representation in E-commerce

Our goal is to build general representation (embedding) for each user and each product item across Alibaba's businesses, including Taobao and Tmall which are among the world's biggest e-commerce websites. The representation of users and items has been playing a critical role in various downstream applications, including recommendation system, search, marketing, demand forecasting and so on. Inspired from the BERT model in natural language processing (NLP) domain, we propose a GUIM (General User Item embedding with Mixture of representation) model to achieve the goal with massive, structured, multi-modal data including the interactions among hundreds of millions of users and items. We utilize mixture of representation (MoR) as a novel representation form to model the diverse interests of each user. In addition, we use the InfoNCE from contrastive learning to avoid intractable computational costs due to the numerous size of item (token) vocabulary. Finally, we propose a set of representative downstream tasks to serve as a standard benchmark to evaluate the quality of the learned user and/or item embeddings, analogous to the GLUE benchmark in NLP domain. Our experimental results in these downstream tasks clearly show the comparative value of embeddings learned from our GUIM model.

Native Reasoning Models: Training Language Models to Reason on Unverifiable Data

The prevailing paradigm for training large reasoning models--combining Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) with Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR)--is fundamentally constrained by its reliance on high-quality, human-annotated reasoning data and external verifiers. This dependency incurs significant data-collection costs, risks embedding human cognitive biases, and confines the reinforcement learning stage to objectively assessable domains like mathematics and coding, leaving a wide range of unverifiable tasks beyond its scope. To overcome these limitations, we introduce NRT (Native Reasoning Training), a novel framework that cultivates complex reasoning by having the model generate its own reasoning traces using only standard question-answer pairs, thereby obviating the need for expert-written demonstrations. NRT reframes the training problem by treating the reasoning process as a latent variable. It employs a unified training objective that models reasoning as an optimization problem, intrinsically rewarding paths that increase the model's likelihood of producing the ground-truth answer. This unified perspective allows us to analyze intrinsic failure modes of prior methods, such as policy collapse, and systematically design more robust reward aggregation functions, creating a self-reinforcing feedback loop where the model learns to think in ways that resolve its own uncertainty. Empirical evaluation on Llama and Mistral model families demonstrates that NRT achieves state-of-the-art performance among verifier-free methods, significantly outperforming standard SFT baselines and prior verifier-free RL methods. Our approach yields particularly strong performance gains in complex reasoning domains and exhibits high robustness to policy collapse, offering a general, scalable path toward building more powerful and broadly applicable reasoning systems.

Online time series prediction using feature adjustment

Time series forecasting is of significant importance across various domains. However, it faces significant challenges due to distribution shift. This issue becomes particularly pronounced in online deployment scenarios where data arrives sequentially, requiring models to adapt continually to evolving patterns. Current time series online learning methods focus on two main aspects: selecting suitable parameters to update (e.g., final layer weights or adapter modules) and devising suitable update strategies (e.g., using recent batches, replay buffers, or averaged gradients). We challenge the conventional parameter selection approach, proposing that distribution shifts stem from changes in underlying latent factors influencing the data. Consequently, updating the feature representations of these latent factors may be more effective. To address the critical problem of delayed feedback in multi-step forecasting (where true values arrive much later than predictions), we introduce ADAPT-Z (Automatic Delta Adjustment via Persistent Tracking in Z-space). ADAPT-Z utilizes an adapter module that leverages current feature representations combined with historical gradient information to enable robust parameter updates despite the delay. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms standard base models without adaptation and surpasses state-of-the-art online learning approaches across multiple datasets.
