MusaCoder: Native GPU Kernel Generation with Full-Stack Training on Moore Threads GPUKun Cheng, Songshuo Lu, Sicong Liao et al.
Native GPU kernel generation turns high-level tensor programs into executable, efficient low-level code. Existing Large Language Models (LLMs) struggle with this task, while execution-based reinforcement learning suffers from sparse rewards, reward hacking, and training instability. We present MusaCoder, a full-stack training framework for native GPU kernel generation on CUDA and MUSA backends. MusaCoder combines progressive kernel-oriented data synthesis, diversity-preserving rejection fine-tuning, and execution-feedback Reinforcement Learning (RL) through MooreEval, a distributed verifier and reward environment. To stabilize RL, MusaCoder introduces PrimeEcho for first-turn-anchored multi-turn rewards, Buffered Dynamic Retry for recovering signals from all-failed hard samples, and MirrorPop for off-policy sequence filtering. Experiments on KernelBench and a MUSA-ported variant show that MusaCoder outperforms strong open-source and proprietary baselines in both correctness and empirical speedup, with the 9B model matching or exceeding frontier closed-source models and the 27B model establishing a new state of the art. These results demonstrate not only the effectiveness of full-stack execution-feedback training for native kernel generation, but also the capability of Moore Threads GPUs to support the complete LLM post-training stack, providing a practical foundation for large-model training and optimization on emerging accelerators.

SMiLE: Schema-augmented Multi-level Contrastive Learning for Knowledge Graph Link PredictionMiao Peng, Ben Liu, Qianqian Xie et al.
Link prediction is the task of inferring missing links between entities in knowledge graphs. Embedding-based methods have shown effectiveness in addressing this problem by modeling relational patterns in triples. However, the link prediction task often requires contextual information in entity neighborhoods, while most existing embedding-based methods fail to capture it. Additionally, little attention is paid to the diversity of entity representations in different contexts, which often leads to false prediction results. In this situation, we consider that the schema of knowledge graph contains the specific contextual information, and it is beneficial for preserving the consistency of entities across contexts. In this paper, we propose a novel Schema-augmented Multi-level contrastive LEarning framework (SMiLE) to conduct knowledge graph link prediction. Specifically, we first exploit network schema as the prior constraint to sample negatives and pre-train our model by employing a multi-level contrastive learning method to yield both prior schema and contextual information. Then we fine-tune our model under the supervision of individual triples to learn subtler representations for link prediction. Extensive experimental results on four knowledge graph datasets with thorough analysis of each component demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed framework against state-of-the-art baselines. Analytical Composition of Differential Privacy via the Edgeworth AccountantHua Wang, Sheng Gao, Huanyu Zhang et al.
Many modern machine learning algorithms are composed of simple private algorithms; thus, an increasingly important problem is to efficiently compute the overall privacy loss under composition. In this study, we introduce the Edgeworth Accountant, an analytical approach to composing differential privacy guarantees of private algorithms. The Edgeworth Accountant starts by losslessly tracking the privacy loss under composition using the $f$-differential privacy framework, which allows us to express the privacy guarantees using privacy-loss log-likelihood ratios (PLLRs). As the name suggests, this accountant next uses the Edgeworth expansion to the upper and lower bounds the probability distribution of the sum of the PLLRs. Moreover, by relying on a technique for approximating complex distributions using simple ones, we demonstrate that the Edgeworth Accountant can be applied to the composition of any noise-addition mechanism. Owing to certain appealing features of the Edgeworth expansion, the $(ε, δ)$-differential privacy bounds offered by this accountant are non-asymptotic, with essentially no extra computational cost, as opposed to the prior approaches in, wherein the running times increase with the number of compositions. Finally, we demonstrate that our upper and lower $(ε, δ)$-differential privacy bounds are tight in federated analytics and certain regimes of training private deep learning models.

DP-HyPO: An Adaptive Private Hyperparameter Optimization FrameworkHua Wang, Sheng Gao, Huanyu Zhang et al.
Hyperparameter optimization, also known as hyperparameter tuning, is a widely recognized technique for improving model performance. Regrettably, when training private ML models, many practitioners often overlook the privacy risks associated with hyperparameter optimization, which could potentially expose sensitive information about the underlying dataset. Currently, the sole existing approach to allow privacy-preserving hyperparameter optimization is to uniformly and randomly select hyperparameters for a number of runs, subsequently reporting the best-performing hyperparameter. In contrast, in non-private settings, practitioners commonly utilize ``adaptive'' hyperparameter optimization methods such as Gaussian process-based optimization, which select the next candidate based on information gathered from previous outputs. This substantial contrast between private and non-private hyperparameter optimization underscores a critical concern. In our paper, we introduce DP-HyPO, a pioneering framework for ``adaptive'' private hyperparameter optimization, aiming to bridge the gap between private and non-private hyperparameter optimization. To accomplish this, we provide a comprehensive differential privacy analysis of our framework. Furthermore, we empirically demonstrate the effectiveness of DP-HyPO on a diverse set of real-world datasets.

MooER: LLM-based Speech Recognition and Translation Models from Moore ThreadsJunhao Xu, Zhenlin Liang, Yi Liu et al.
In this paper, we present MooER, a LLM-based large-scale automatic speech recognition (ASR) / automatic speech translation (AST) model of Moore Threads. A 5000h pseudo labeled dataset containing open source and self collected speech data is used for training. We achieve performance comparable to other open source models trained with up to hundreds of thousands of hours of labeled speech data. Meanwhile, experiments conducted on Covost2 Zh2en testset suggest that our model outperforms other open source Speech LLMs. A BLEU score of 25.2 can be obtained. The main contributions of this paper are summarized as follows. First, this paper presents a training strategy for encoders and LLMs on speech related tasks (including ASR and AST) using a small size of pseudo labeled data without any extra manual annotation and selection. Second, we release our ASR and AST models and plan to open-source our training code and strategy in the near future. Moreover, a model trained on 8wh scale training data is planned to be released later on.

A Survey of Distance-Based Vessel Trajectory Clustering: Data Pre-processing, Methodologies, Applications, and Experimental EvaluationMaohan Liang, Ryan Wen Liu, Ruobin Gao et al.
Vessel trajectory clustering, a crucial component of the maritime intelligent transportation systems, provides valuable insights for applications such as anomaly detection and trajectory prediction. This paper presents a comprehensive survey of the most prevalent distance-based vessel trajectory clustering methods, which encompass two main steps: trajectory similarity measurement and clustering. Initially, we conducted a thorough literature review using relevant keywords to gather and summarize pertinent research papers and datasets. Then, this paper discussed the principal methods of data pre-processing that prepare data for further analysis. The survey progresses to detail the leading algorithms for measuring vessel trajectory similarity and the main clustering techniques used in the field today. Furthermore, the various applications of trajectory clustering within the maritime context are explored. Finally, the paper evaluates the effectiveness of different algorithm combinations and pre-processing methods through experimental analysis, focusing on their impact on the performance of distance-based trajectory clustering algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of various trajectory clustering algorithms and notably highlight the significant improvements that trajectory compression techniques contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of trajectory clustering. This comprehensive approach ensures a deep understanding of current capabilities and future directions in vessel trajectory clustering.

Deep-Learning-Based Computer Vision Approach For The Segmentation Of Ball Deliveries And Tracking In CricketKumail Abbas, Muhammad Saeed, M. Imad Khan et al.
There has been a significant increase in the adoption of technology in cricket recently. This trend has created the problem of duplicate work being done in similar computer vision-based research works. Our research tries to solve one of these problems by segmenting ball deliveries in a cricket broadcast using deep learning models, MobileNet and YOLO, thus enabling researchers to use our work as a dataset for their research. The output from our research can be used by cricket coaches and players to analyze ball deliveries which are played during the match. This paper presents an approach to segment and extract video shots in which only the ball is being delivered. The video shots are a series of continuous frames that make up the whole scene of the video. Object detection models are applied to reach a high level of accuracy in terms of correctly extracting video shots. The proof of concept for building large datasets of video shots for ball deliveries is proposed which paves the way for further processing on those shots for the extraction of semantics. Ball tracking in these video shots is also done using a separate RetinaNet model as a sample of the usefulness of the proposed dataset. The position on the cricket pitch where the ball lands is also extracted by tracking the ball along the y-axis. The video shot is then classified as a full-pitched, good-length or short-pitched delivery.

TimeSAF: Towards LLM-Guided Semantic Asynchronous Fusion for Time Series ForecastingFan Zhang, Shiming Fan, Hua Wang
Despite the recent success of large language models (LLMs) in time-series forecasting, most existing methods still adopt a Deep Synchronous Fusion strategy, where dense interactions between textual and temporal features are enforced at every layer of the network. This design overlooks the inherent granularity mismatch between modalities and leads to what we term semantic perceptual dissonance: high-level abstract semantics provided by the LLM become inappropriately entangled with the low-level, fine-grained numerical dynamics of time series, making it difficult for semantic priors to effectively guide forecasting. To address this issue, we propose TimeSAF, a new framework based on hierarchical asynchronous fusion. Unlike synchronous approaches, TimeSAF explicitly decouples unimodal feature learning from cross-modal interaction. It introduces an independent cross-modal semantic fusion trunk, which uses learnable queries to aggregate global semantics from the temporal and prompt backbones in a bottom-up manner, and a stage-wise semantic refinement decoder that asynchronously injects these high-level signals back into the temporal backbone. This mechanism provides stable and efficient semantic guidance while avoiding interference with low-level temporal dynamics. Extensive experiments on standard long-term forecasting benchmarks show that TimeSAF significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, and further exhibits strong generalization in both few-shot and zero-shot transfer settings.

Uncertainty and Explainable Analysis of Machine Learning Model for Reconstruction of Sonic Slowness LogsHua Wang, Yuqiong Wu, Yushun Zhang et al.
Logs are valuable information for oil and gas fields as they help to determine the lithology of the formations surrounding the borehole and the location and reserves of subsurface oil and gas reservoirs. However, important logs are often missing in horizontal or old wells, which poses a challenge in field applications. In this paper, we utilize data from the 2020 machine learning competition of the SPWLA, which aims to predict the missing compressional wave slowness and shear wave slowness logs using other logs in the same borehole. We employ the NGBoost algorithm to construct an Ensemble Learning model that can predicate the results as well as their uncertainty. Furthermore, we combine the SHAP method to investigate the interpretability of the machine learning model. We compare the performance of the NGBosst model with four other commonly used Ensemble Learning methods, including Random Forest, GBDT, XGBoost, LightGBM. The results show that the NGBoost model performs well in the testing set and can provide a probability distribution for the prediction results. In addition, the variance of the probability distribution of the predicted log can be used to justify the quality of the constructed log. Using the SHAP explainable machine learning model, we calculate the importance of each input log to the predicted results as well as the coupling relationship among input logs. Our findings reveal that the NGBoost model tends to provide greater slowness prediction results when the neutron porosity and gamma ray are large, which is consistent with the cognition of petrophysical models. Furthermore, the machine learning model can capture the influence of the changing borehole caliper on slowness, where the influence of borehole caliper on slowness is complex and not easy to establish a direct relationship. These findings are in line with the physical principle of borehole acoustics.

CASE-NET: Deep Spatio-Temporal Representation Learning via Causal Attention and Channel Recalibration for Multivariate Time Series ClassificationFan Zhang, Yating Cui, Hua Wang
Multivariate time series (MTS) classification is foundational to pervasive computing and financial analysis, yet existing multi-scale paradigms are often constrained by suboptimal representation fidelity. We identify two critical bottlenecks: temporal non-causality in standard encoders that induces temporal confounding in non-stationary dynamics, and the absence of explicit channel saliency mechanisms that allows noise to contaminate the latent space. To address these challenges, we propose the Causal Attention and Spatio-temporal Encoder Network (CASE-NET), an architecture designed for structural manifold pre-conditioning. CASE-NET synergizes a Causal Temporal Encoder, which enforces physical arrow-of-time constraints via masked self-attention and causal convolutions, with an Adaptive Channel Recalibration module functioning as an information bottleneck to suppress detrimental noise. Comprehensive evaluations across six heterogeneous domains demonstrate that CASE-NET establishes new state-of-the-art benchmarks on four tasks, achieving a peak accuracy of 98.6% on the AWR dataset and superior robustness in non-stationary regimes.

EEO-TFV: Escape-Explore Optimizer for Web-Scale Time-Series Forecasting and Vision AnalysisHua Wang, Jinghao Lu, Fan Zhang
Transformer-based foundation models have achieved remarkable progress in tasks such as time-series forecasting and image segmentation. However, they frequently suffer from error accumulation in multivariate long-sequence prediction and exhibit vulnerability to out-of-distribution samples in image-related tasks. Furthermore, these challenges become particularly pronounced in large-scale Web data analysis tasks, which typically involve complex temporal patterns and multimodal features. This complexity substantially increases optimization difficulty, rendering models prone to stagnation at saddle points within high-dimensional parameter spaces. To address these issues, we propose a lightweight Transformer architecture in conjunction with a novel Escape-Explore Optimizer (EEO). The optimizer enhances both exploration and generalization while effectively avoiding sharp minima and saddle-point traps. Experimental results show that, in representative Web data scenarios, our method achieves performance on par with state-of-the-art models across 11 time-series benchmark datasets and the Synapse medical image segmentation task. Moreover, it demonstrates superior generalization and stability, thereby validating its potential as a versatile cross-task foundation model for Web-scale data mining and analysis.

L-Drive: Beyond a Single Mapping-Latent Context Drives Time Series ForecastingFan Zhang, Shijun Chen, Hua Wang
Mainstream methods for multivariate time-series forecasting largely follow the Direct-Mapping paradigm. They learn a unified mapping from history to the future in the observation space to fit value-level dependencies. However, real-world systems often undergo distribution shifts and regime changes. In such cases, a unified mapping can exhibit response lag around turning points, causing error accumulation within the switching window and reducing forecasting reliability. To address this issue, we propose L-Drive, a change-aware forecasting framework. L-Drive introduces a Latent-Context, to explicitly characterize high-level dynamics evolving over time, and uses gating to modulate increment representations. This provides more timely change cues and improves adaptation to changing segments. In addition, it incorporates patch-shared relative positional basis functions to strengthen intra-segment structural modeling and reduce overfitting caused by absolute-position memorization. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of L-Drive and show a better overall trade-off between forecasting accuracy and computational efficiency.

TIDAL: Recovering Temporal Phase for Cloud Block Storage Placement from LLM-Derived SemanticsDifan Tan, Changlin Wan, Jiawen Liu et al.
Cloud Virtual Disk (CVD) placement in Cloud Block Storage (CBS) is critical for resource efficiency and performance isolation. Existing schemes prioritize spatial load balancing by dispersing disks across pods based on configuration-derived load estimates. However, overload risk in CBS is fundamentally temporal. Even when average load is balanced, pods can still suffer transient congestion when the peaks of co-located disks align in time. Achieving complementary placement, which co-locates CVDs with offset peaks, is hard at provisioning time because new disks have no history from which to infer temporal phase. We present TIDAL, a CVD placement framework that recovers phase-aware signals for cold-start placement from an underused source: tenant-provided names and identifiers in provisioning metadata. TIDAL first uses LLMs to recover application semantics from noisy metadata such as project, VM, and disk names. It then translates these semantics into phase-aware temporal signals to guide complementary placement. To satisfy control-plane constraints, TIDAL adopts an offline-to-online design with teacher-student distillation, regex-based filtering, and prefix-aware caching, enabling CPU-only inference with millisecond-level latency. Evaluations driven by production traces show that TIDAL reduces overload frequency by 79.1% and P95 overload duration by 73.7% compared with the strongest baselines.

Time-TK: A Multi-Offset Temporal Interaction Framework Combining Transformer and Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks for Time Series ForecastingFan Zhang, Shiming Fan, Hua Wang
Time series forecasting is crucial for the World Wide Web and represents a core technical challenge in ensuring the stable and efficient operation of modern web services, such as intelligent transportation and website throughput. However, we have found that existing methods typically employ a strategy of embedding each time step as an independent token. This paradigm introduces a fundamental information bottleneck when processing long sequences, the root cause of which is that independent token embedding destroys a crucial structure within the sequence - what we term as multi-offset temporal correlation. This refers to the fine-grained dependencies embedded within the sequence that span across different time steps, which is especially prevalent in regular Web data. To fundamentally address this issue, we propose a new perspective on time series embedding. We provide an upper bound on the approximate reconstruction performance of token embedding, which guides our design of a concise yet effective Multi-Offset Time Embedding method to mitigate the performance degradation caused by standard token embedding. Furthermore, our MOTE can be integrated into various existing models and serve as a universal building block. Based on this paradigm, we further design a novel forecasting architecture named Time-TK. This architecture first utilizes a Multi-Offset Interactive KAN to learn and represent specific temporal patterns among multiple offset sub-sequences. Subsequently, it employs an efficient Multi-Offset Temporal Interaction mechanism to effectively capture the complex dependencies between these sub-sequences, achieving global information integration. Extensive experiments on 14 real-world benchmark datasets, covering domains such as traffic flow and BTC/USDT throughput, demonstrate that Time-TK significantly outperforms all baseline models, achieving state-of-the-art forecasting accuracy.

Effective Attention-Guided Multi-Scale Medical Network for Skin Lesion SegmentationSiyu Wang, Hua Wang, Huiyu Li et al.
In the field of healthcare, precise skin lesion segmentation is crucial for the early detection and accurate diagnosis of skin diseases. Despite significant advances in deep learning for image processing, existing methods have yet to effectively address the challenges of irregular lesion shapes and low contrast. To address these issues, this paper proposes an innovative encoder-decoder network architecture based on multi-scale residual structures, capable of extracting rich feature information from different receptive fields to effectively identify lesion areas. By introducing a Multi-Resolution Multi-Channel Fusion (MRCF) module, our method captures cross-scale features, enhancing the clarity and accuracy of the extracted information. Furthermore, we propose a Cross-Mix Attention Module (CMAM), which redefines the attention scope and dynamically calculates weights across multiple contexts, thus improving the flexibility and depth of feature capture and enabling deeper exploration of subtle features. To overcome the information loss caused by skip connections in traditional U-Net, an External Attention Bridge (EAB) is introduced, facilitating the effective utilization of information in the decoder and compensating for the loss during upsampling. Extensive experimental evaluations on several skin lesion segmentation datasets demonstrate that the proposed model significantly outperforms existing transformer and convolutional neural network-based models, showcasing exceptional segmentation accuracy and robustness.

MHMamba: Multi-Head Mamba for 3D Brain Tumor SegmentationHanjun Tao, Hua Wang, Fan Zhang
Brain tumors exhibit high heterogeneity in morphology and multimodal contrast, making manual slice-by-slice de lineation time-consuming and experience-dependent, thus necessitating efficient and stable automated segmentation methods. To address the limitations of CNNs in modeling long-range dependencies, and the heavy computational and memory overhead and inter-block contextual in coherence of Transformers in 3D MRI, this paper proposes Multi-Head Mamba (MHMamba). This method combines a U-shaped architecture with a multi-head state-space model (Mamba), splitting the channel dimension into parallel SSM heads and aggregating them with residuals. This enhances long-range representation and improves the stability of multimodal training while maintaining linear complexity. To further align statistics and enhance lesion response, we designed a channel-space calibration module for multi-head outputs and introduced an adaptive fusion mechanism at skip connections to dynamically connect global semantics with local details, thereby improving boundary consistency and the detection of small-volume lesions. We conducted experiments and ablations on BraTS2021 and BraTS2023. The results showed that MHMamba achieved stable and significant improvements in overall accuracy, boundary smoothness, and sensitivity to tumor core and small-volume enhancement areas, while preserving the linear-complexity advantage of Mamba-based modeling, thus verifying the effectiveness and versatility of the method.

PESD-TSF: A Period-Aware and Explicit Structured Decomposition Framework for Long-Term Time Series ForecastingHua Wang, Xianhao Jiao, Fan Zhang
Deep forecasting models often suffer from attenuated periodic perception and entangled trend-noise representations as network depth increases. Moreover, the widely adopted channel-independent paradigm, while improving training stability, disrupts intrinsic dynamic coordination among variables, hindering the modeling of cross-variable consistency in multivariate time series. To address these issues, we propose PESD-TSF, a physics-inspired structured decomposition framework for long-term time series forecasting that jointly emphasizes interpretability and predictive accuracy. PESD-TSF introduces three key designs. First, a Multiplicative Periodic Gating mechanism incorporates continuous-time priors to dynamically modulate signal amplitudes, preserving periodic structures across deep layers. Second, a multi-scale structured encoder integrates detrended attention with hierarchical sampling to explicitly decouple long-term trends from high-frequency variations while retaining fine-grained temporal semantics. Third, to recover disrupted inter-variable dependencies, we propose Cross-Scale Collaborative Attention (CSCA) together with an RLC regularization scheme, which reconstructs global inter-variable topology in deep feature spaces and enforces physically consistent collaboration through orthogonality and consistency constraints. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets from multiple domains demonstrate that PESD-TSF consistently achieves state-of-the-art performance, with particularly strong gains on multivariate forecasting tasks involving complex inter-variable coupling, highlighting its superior structural modeling capability and generalization.

ABG-NAS: Adaptive Bayesian Genetic Neural Architecture Search for Graph Representation LearningSixuan Wang, Jiao Yin, Jinli Cao et al.
Effective and efficient graph representation learning is essential for enabling critical downstream tasks, such as node classification, link prediction, and subgraph search. However, existing graph neural network (GNN) architectures often struggle to adapt to diverse and complex graph structures, limiting their ability to produce structure-aware and task-discriminative representations. To address this challenge, we propose ABG-NAS, a novel framework for automated graph neural network architecture search tailored for efficient graph representation learning. ABG-NAS encompasses three key components: a Comprehensive Architecture Search Space (CASS), an Adaptive Genetic Optimization Strategy (AGOS), and a Bayesian-Guided Tuning Module (BGTM). CASS systematically explores diverse propagation (P) and transformation (T) operations, enabling the discovery of GNN architectures capable of capturing intricate graph characteristics. AGOS dynamically balances exploration and exploitation, ensuring search efficiency and preserving solution diversity. BGTM further optimizes hyperparameters periodically, enhancing the scalability and robustness of the resulting architectures. Empirical evaluations on benchmark datasets (Cora, PubMed, Citeseer, and CoraFull) demonstrate that ABG-NAS consistently outperforms both manually designed GNNs and state-of-the-art neural architecture search (NAS) methods. These results highlight the potential of ABG-NAS to advance graph representation learning by providing scalable and adaptive solutions for diverse graph structures. DeskVision: Large Scale Desktop Region Captioning for Advanced GUI AgentsYibin Xu, Liang Yang, Hao Chen et al.
The limitation of graphical user interface (GUI) data has been a significant barrier to the development of GUI agents today, especially for the desktop / computer use scenarios. To address this, we propose an automated GUI data generation pipeline, AutoCaptioner, which generates data with rich descriptions while minimizing human effort. Using AutoCaptioner, we created a novel large-scale desktop GUI dataset, DeskVision, along with the largest desktop test benchmark, DeskVision-Eval, which reflects daily usage and covers diverse systems and UI elements, each with rich descriptions. With DeskVision, we train a new GUI understanding model, GUIExplorer. Results show that GUIExplorer achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance in understanding/grounding visual elements without the need for complex architectural designs. We further validated the effectiveness of the DeskVision dataset through ablation studies on various large visual language models (LVLMs). We believe that AutoCaptioner and DeskVision will significantly advance the development of GUI agents, and will open-source them for the community.

We present DanceText, a training-free framework for multilingual text editing in images, designed to support complex geometric transformations and achieve seamless foreground-background integration. While diffusion-based generative models have shown promise in text-guided image synthesis, they often lack controllability and fail to preserve layout consistency under non-trivial manipulations such as rotation, translation, scaling, and warping. To address these limitations, DanceText introduces a layered editing strategy that separates text from the background, allowing geometric transformations to be performed in a modular and controllable manner. A depth-aware module is further proposed to align appearance and perspective between the transformed text and the reconstructed background, enhancing photorealism and spatial consistency. Importantly, DanceText adopts a fully training-free design by integrating pretrained modules, allowing flexible deployment without task-specific fine-tuning. Extensive experiments on the AnyWord-3M benchmark demonstrate that our method achieves superior performance in visual quality, especially under large-scale and complex transformation scenarios. Mitigating Hallucination in Multimodal Reasoning via Functional Attention ControlHaolang Lu, Bolun Chu, WeiYe Fu et al.
Multimodal large reasoning models (MLRMs) are rapidly advancing vision-language reasoning and are emerging as a foundation for cross-modal intelligence. Hallucination remains a persistent failure mode, manifesting itself as erroneous reasoning chains and misinterpretation of visual content. In this study, we observe that attention heads exhibit a staged division: shallow heads predominantly serve perception, while deeper heads shift toward symbolic reasoning, revealing two major causes of hallucination, namely perceptual bias and reasoning drift. To address these issues, we propose a lightweight and interpretable two-step plugin, Functional Head Identification and Class-conditioned Rescaling, which locates perception- and reasoning-oriented heads and regulates their contributions without retraining. Evaluations on three real-world MLRMs (Kimi-VL, Ocean-R1, R1-Onevision), six benchmarks across three domains, and four baselines show that our plugin achieves an average improvement of 5% and up to 15%, with only <1% additional computation and 9% of baseline latency. Our approach is completely model-agnostic and significantly enhances both the reliability and interpretability of the off-the-shelf MLRMs, thereby enabling their safe deployment in high-stakes applications. On the Convergence and Calibration of Deep Learning with Differential PrivacyZhiqi Bu, Hua Wang, Zongyu Dai et al.
Differentially private (DP) training preserves the data privacy usually at the cost of slower convergence (and thus lower accuracy), as well as more severe mis-calibration than its non-private counterpart. To analyze the convergence of DP training, we formulate a continuous time analysis through the lens of neural tangent kernel (NTK), which characterizes the per-sample gradient clipping and the noise addition in DP training, for arbitrary network architectures and loss functions. Interestingly, we show that the noise addition only affects the privacy risk but not the convergence or calibration, whereas the per-sample gradient clipping (under both flat and layerwise clipping styles) only affects the convergence and calibration. Furthermore, we observe that while DP models trained with small clipping norm usually achieve the best accurate, but are poorly calibrated and thus unreliable. In sharp contrast, DP models trained with large clipping norm enjoy the same privacy guarantee and similar accuracy, but are significantly more \textit{calibrated}. SAMOFT: Robust Multi-Object Tracking via Region and FlowYanchao Wang, Dawei Zhang, Chengzhuan Yang et al.
Multi-object tracking (MOT) is a fundamental task in computer vision that requires continuously tracking multiple targets while maintaining consistent identities across frames. However, most existing approaches primarily rely on instance-level object features for trajectory association, which often leads to degraded performance under challenging conditions such as object deformation, nonlinear motion, and occlusion. In this work, we propose SAMOFT, a robust tracker that leverages pixel-level cues to improve robustness under complex motion scenarios. Specifically, we introduce a Pixel Motion Matching (PMM) module that integrates the Segment Anything Model (SAM) with dense optical flow to refine Kalman filter-based motion prediction using instantaneous foreground pixel motion. To further enhance robustness under unreliable detections, we design a Centroid Distance Matching (CDM) module that performs flexible mask-based centroid matching for low-confidence or partially occluded observations. Moreover, a Distribution-Based Correction (DBC) module models long-tailed motion patterns in a training-free manner using historical optical flow statistics and dynamically corrects trajectory states online. We also incorporate a Cluster-Aware ReID (CA-ReID) strategy to improve the stability and discriminative power of trajectory appearance features. Extensive experiments on the DanceTrack and MOTChallenge benchmarks demonstrate that SAMOFT consistently improves baseline trackers and achieves competitive performance compared with recent state-of-the-art methods, validating the effectiveness of leveraging pixel-level cues for robust multi-object tracking.

As the use of robotics becomes more widespread, the huge amount of vision data leads to a dramatic increase in data dimensionality. Although deep learning methods can effectively process these high-dimensional vision data. Due to the limitation of computational resources, some special scenarios still rely on traditional machine learning methods. However, these high-dimensional visual data lead to great challenges for traditional machine learning methods. Therefore, we propose a Lite Fireworks Algorithm with Fractal Dimension constraint for feature selection (LFWA+FD) and use it to solve the feature selection problem driven by robot vision. The "LFWA+FD" focuses on searching the ideal feature subset by simplifying the fireworks algorithm and constraining the dimensionality of selected features by fractal dimensionality, which in turn reduces the approximate features and reduces the noise in the original data to improve the accuracy of the model. The comparative experimental results of two publicly available datasets from UCI show that the proposed method can effectively select a subset of features useful for model inference and remove a large amount of noise noise present in the original data to improve the performance.

UniSem: Generalizable Semantic 3D Reconstruction from Sparse Unposed ImagesGuibiao Liao, Qian Ren, Kaimin Liao et al.
Semantic-aware 3D reconstruction from sparse, unposed images remains challenging for feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS). Existing methods often predict an over-complete set of Gaussian primitives under sparse-view supervision, leading to unstable geometry and inferior depth quality. Meanwhile, they rely solely on 2D segmenter features for semantic lifting, which provides weak 3D-level and limited generalizable supervision, resulting in incomplete 3D semantics in novel scenes. To address these issues, we propose UniSem, a unified framework that jointly improves depth accuracy and semantic generalization via two key components. First, Error-aware Gaussian Dropout (EGD) performs error-guided capacity control by suppressing redundancy-prone Gaussians using rendering error cues, producing meaningful, geometrically stable Gaussian representations for improved depth estimation. Second, we introduce a Mix-training Curriculum (MTC) that progressively blends 2D segmenter-lifted semantics with the model's own emergent 3D semantic priors, implemented with object-level prototype alignment to enhance semantic coherence and completeness. Extensive experiments on ScanNet and Replica show that UniSem achieves superior performance in depth prediction and open-vocabulary 3D segmentation across varying numbers of input views. Notably, with 16-view inputs, UniSem reduces depth Rel by 15.2% and improves open-vocabulary segmentation mAcc by 3.7% over strong baselines.

ReorgGS: Equivalent Distribution Reorganization for 3D Gaussian SplattingLuchao Wang, Kaimin Liao, Qian Ren et al.
A converged 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) model may approximate the target scene while remaining poorly parameterized for further optimization. We identify this failure mode as \emph{parameterization degeneration}: high-opacity floaters attenuate gradients to true surfaces through alpha compositing, and redundant overlapping clusters create strongly coupled parameter blocks with nearly collinear Jacobian responses. These effects explain why continued optimization can plateau even when the model still contains removable artifacts. We propose ReorgGS, an equivalent distribution reorganization method for converged 3DGS models. ReorgGS treats the existing Gaussian set as an empirical probability field, resamples centers from it, estimates local anisotropic covariances with kNN, initializes low opacity, and continues optimization with the original 3DGS renderer and loss. Unlike opacity reset, which only rescales opacity on the old overlap graph, ReorgGS rebuilds centers, covariances, and visibility structure, thereby changing the graph itself. Our analysis shows that distributional equivalence is not optimization equivalence. The reorganized model preserves scene support while improving gradient accessibility under alpha compositing and reducing opacity-weighted overlap, thereby weakening local parameter coupling during subsequent optimization. Under the same additional optimization budget, ReorgGS improves fitting quality at a fixed Gaussian count, suppresses persistent floaters, and reduces rendering overhead from redundant overlap.

What Will Happen Next: Large Models-Driven Deduction for Emergency InstancesZhengqing Hu, Dong Chen, Junkun Yuan et al.
Traditional simulation methods reproduce occurred emergency instances through presetting to assist people in risk assessment and emergency decision-making. However, due to the lack of randomness and diversity, existing simulation systems struggle to fully explore the potential risk as emergency instances are scarce. In contrast, Large Models (LMs) can dynamically adjust generation strategies to introduce controllable randomness, while also possessing extensive prior knowledge and cross-domain knowledge transfer capabilities. Inspired by it, we propose the LMs-driven World Line Divergence System (WLDS), which enables diversified visualization and deduction of emergency instances in different domains. WLDS leverages LMs to deduce emergency instances in various development directions, and introduces the factual calibration and logical calibration mechanism to ensure factual accuracy and logical rigor during the deduction process. The interactive module can independently select deduction directions to avoid potential hallucinations that are difficult for the system to identify. Furthermore, by introducing the visualization module, WLDS forms simulation and deduction that combine text and images, which enhances interpretability. Extensive experiments conducted on the proposed Emergency Instances Deduction (EID) benchmark dataset demonstrate that WLDS achieves high-precision and high-fidelity simulation and deduction of emergency instances in multiple specific domains. Relevant experiments further demonstrate that WLDS can generate more emergency instances deduction data for users and provide support for better decision-making in similar emergency instances in the future.

LiteGUI: Distilling Compact GUI Agents with Reinforcement LearningYubin Wu, Zicheng Cai, Liping Ning et al.
Developing lightweight, on-device vision-language GUI agents is essential for efficient cross-platform automated interaction. However, current on-device agents are constrained by limited model capacity, and further performance improvements remain urgently needed. Traditional Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) for small-scale models often leads to overfitting, catastrophic forgetting and policy rigidity, and thus fails to fully address these challenges. In this work, we propose a novel SFT-free training paradigm that significantly enhances the performance of small-scale models. We first present the initial systematic integration of generalized knowledge distillation into the GUI agent domain via Guided On-policy Distillation. By incorporating oracle reference trajectories together with a dynamic retrieval mechanism, our method reduces hallucinations and mitigates the cognitive misalignment inherent in multi-solution GUI tasks. Building on this foundation, we further introduce a Multi-solution Dual-level GRPO framework that jointly aligns macro-level subtask planning with micro-level execution matching, thereby improving exploration in long-horizon GUI agent scenarios. In addition, we construct an automated data generation pipeline to synthesize GUI task trajectories with rich multi-solution annotations. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance among lightweight models while remaining competitive with substantially larger-scale models across all benchmarks. Ablation studies further demonstrate that structured on-policy distillation and multi-solution dual-level exploration can fully unlock the capabilities of 2B/3B scale agents, surpassing the performance limits of conventional imitation learning.

What If We Let Forecasting Forget? A Sparse Bottleneck for Cross-Variable DependenciesFan Zhang, Shiming Fan, Hua Wang
Multivariate time series forecasting is critical in many real-world systems, and thus modeling cross-channel dependencies is essential. Although existing methods improve overall accuracy by enhancing representations and cross-channel interactions, it remains challenging to reliably capture inter-variable dependencies under specific conditions. We observe that dependencies in real data are often state-dependent and noisy; in such cases, dense interactions can amplify spurious correlations and lead to representation over-smoothing, which may yield unreliable predictions in certain scenarios. Motivated by this, we propose MS-FLOW, a sparse-bottleneck framework that explicitly models inter-variable interaction as capacity-limited information flow. Specifically, MS-FLOW replaces fully connected communication with selective sparse routing, retaining only a few critical dependency paths and injecting cross-variable signals under a strict communication budget, thereby suppressing redundant connections and spurious-correlation propagation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MS-FLOW learns more reliable multivariate correlations, achieving state-of-the-art forecasting accuracy on 12 real-world benchmarks while producing fewer yet more reliable dependencies, shifting multivariate forecasting from "more interaction" to "more effective interaction".

CoAuthorAI: A Human in the Loop System For Scientific Book WritingYangjie Tian, Xungang Gu, Yun Zhao et al.
Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used in scientific writing but struggle with book-length tasks, often producing inconsistent structure and unreliable citations. We introduce CoAuthorAI, a human-in-the-loop writing system that combines retrieval-augmented generation, expert-designed hierarchical outlines, and automatic reference linking. The system allows experts to iteratively refine text at the sentence level, ensuring coherence and accuracy. In evaluations of 500 multi-domain literature review chapters, CoAuthorAI achieved a maximum soft-heading recall of 98%; in a human evaluation of 100 articles, the generated content reached a satisfaction rate of 82%. The book AI for Rock Dynamics generated with CoAuthorAI and Kexin Technology's LUFFA AI model has been published with Springer Nature. These results show that systematic human-AI collaboration can extend LLMs' capabilities from articles to full-length books, enabling faster and more reliable scientific publishing.

From Trial to Deployment: A SEM Analysis of Traveler Adoptions to Fully Operational Autonomous TaxisYutong Cai, Hua Wang
Autonomous taxi services represent a transformative advancement in urban mobility, offering safety, efficiency, and round-the-clock operations. While existing literature has explored user acceptance of autonomous taxis through stated preference experiments and hypothetical scenarios, few studies have investigated actual user behavior based on operational AV services. This study addresses that gap by leveraging survey data from Wuhan, China, where Baidu's Apollo Robotaxi service operates at scale. We design a realistic survey incorporating actual service attributes and collect 336 valid responses from actual users. Using Structural Equation Modeling, we identify six latent psychological constructs, namely Trust \& Policy Support, Cost Sensitivity, Performance, Behavioral Intention, Lifestyle, and Education. Their influences on adoption behavior, measured by the selection frequency of autonomous taxis in ten scenarios, are examined and interpreted. Results show that Cost Sensitivity and Behavioral Intention are the strongest positive predictors of adoption, while other latent constructs play more nuanced roles. The model demonstrates strong goodness-of-fit across multiple indices. Our findings offer empirical evidence to support policymaking, fare design, and public outreach strategies for scaling autonomous taxis deployments in real-world urban settings.

From Physics to Foundation Models: A Review of AI-Driven Quantitative Remote Sensing InversionZhenyu Yu, Mohd Yamani Idna Idris, Hua Wang et al.
Quantitative remote sensing inversion aims to estimate continuous surface variables-such as biomass, vegetation indices, and evapotranspiration-from satellite observations, supporting applications in ecosystem monitoring, carbon accounting, and land management. With the evolution of remote sensing systems and artificial intelligence, traditional physics-based paradigms are giving way to data-driven and foundation model (FM)-based approaches. This paper systematically reviews the methodological evolution of inversion techniques, from physical models (e.g., PROSPECT, SCOPE, DART) to machine learning methods (e.g., deep learning, multimodal fusion), and further to foundation models (e.g., SatMAE, GFM, mmEarth). We compare the modeling assumptions, application scenarios, and limitations of each paradigm, with emphasis on recent FM advances in self-supervised pretraining, multi-modal integration, and cross-task adaptation. We also highlight persistent challenges in physical interpretability, domain generalization, limited supervision, and uncertainty quantification. Finally, we envision the development of next-generation foundation models for remote sensing inversion, emphasizing unified modeling capacity, cross-domain generalization, and physical interpretability.

We propose first-order pressure-correction scheme for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, incorporating the recently developed the Dynamically Regularized Lagrange Multiplier (DRLM) methods. The resulting algorithms are fully decoupled and require solving only Poisson-type equations at each time step. Moreover, it exhibits unconditional energy stability. This paper provides a rigorous error analysis for the first-order scheme, establishing optimal error estimates for both velocity and pressure. Specifically, we employ mathematical induction to derive sharp velocity error bounds, while leveraging the inf-sup condition to prove optimal convergence rate for the pressure. To validate our theoretical findings, we present two numerical experiments demonstrating the accuracy and robustness of the method.

This study presents the GPT-Onto-CAABAC framework, integrating Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT), medical-legal ontologies and Context-Aware Attribute-Based Access Control (CAABAC) to enhance EHR access security. Unlike traditional models, GPT-Onto-CAABAC dynamically interprets policies and adapts to changing healthcare and legal environments, offering customized access control solutions. Through empirical evaluation, this framework is shown to be effective in improving EHR security by accurately aligning access decisions with complex regulatory and situational requirements. The findings suggest its broader applicability in sectors where access control must meet stringent compliance and adaptability standards.

Gradient-Guided Conditional Diffusion Models for Private Image Reconstruction: Analyzing Adversarial Impacts of Differential Privacy and DenoisingTao Huang, Jiayang Meng, Hong Chen et al.
We investigate the construction of gradient-guided conditional diffusion models for reconstructing private images, focusing on the adversarial interplay between differential privacy noise and the denoising capabilities of diffusion models. While current gradient-based reconstruction methods struggle with high-resolution images due to computational complexity and prior knowledge requirements, we propose two novel methods that require minimal modifications to the diffusion model's generation process and eliminate the need for prior knowledge. Our approach leverages the strong image generation capabilities of diffusion models to reconstruct private images starting from randomly generated noise, even when a small amount of differentially private noise has been added to the gradients. We also conduct a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the impact of differential privacy noise on the quality of reconstructed images, revealing the relationship among noise magnitude, the architecture of attacked models, and the attacker's reconstruction capability. Additionally, extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of our proposed methods and the accuracy of our theoretical findings, suggesting new directions for privacy risk auditing using conditional diffusion models.

A key challenge for the evaluation is that ChatGPT is still closed-source and traditional benchmark datasets may have been used by ChatGPT as the training data. In this paper, (i) we survey recent studies which uncover the real performance levels of ChatGPT in seven categories of NLP tasks, (ii) review the social implications and safety issues of ChatGPT, and (iii) emphasize key challenges and opportunities for its evaluation. We hope our survey can shed some light on its blackbox manner, so that researchers are not misleaded by its surface generation.

StableGS: A Floater-Free Framework for 3D Gaussian SplattingLuchao Wang, Qian Ren, Kaimin Liao et al.
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstructions are plagued by stubborn ``floater" artifacts that degrade their geometric and visual fidelity. We are the first to reveal the root cause: a fundamental conflict in the 3DGS optimization process where the opacity gradients of floaters vanish when their blended color reaches a pseudo-equilibrium of canceling errors against the background, trapping them in a spurious local minimum. To resolve this, we propose StableGS, a novel framework that decouples geometric regularization from final appearance rendering. Its core is a Dual Opacity architecture that creates two separate rendering paths: a ``Geometric Regularization Path" to bear strong depth-based constraints for structural correctness, and an ``Appearance Refinement Path" to generate high-fidelity details upon this stable foundation. We complement this with a synergistic set of geometric constraints: a self-supervised depth consistency loss and an external geometric prior enabled by our efficient global scale optimization algorithm. Experiments on multiple benchmarks show StableGS not only eliminates floaters but also resolves the common blur-artifact trade-off, achieving state-of-the-art geometric accuracy and visual quality.

Software vulnerabilities continue to pose significant threats to modern information systems, requiring a timely and accurate risk assessment. Public repositories, such as the National Vulnerability Database and CVE details, are regularly updated, but predominantly utilize relational data models that lack native support for representing complex, interconnected structures. To address this, recent research has proposed graph-based vulnerability models. However, these systems often require complex setup procedures, lack real-time multi-source integration, and offer limited accessibility for direct data retrieval and analysis. We present VulGD, a dynamic open-access vulnerability graph database that continuously aggregates cybersecurity data from authoritative repositories. Designed for both expert and non-expert users, VulGD provides a unified web interface and a public API for interactive graph exploration and automated data access. Additionally, VulGD integrates embeddings from large language models (LLMs) to enrich vulnerability description representations, facilitating more accurate vulnerability risk assessment and threat prioritization. URPO: A Unified Reward & Policy Optimization Framework for Large Language ModelsSongshuo Lu, Hua Wang, Zhi Chen et al.
Large-scale alignment pipelines typically pair a policy model with a separately trained reward model whose parameters remain frozen during reinforcement learning (RL). This separation creates a complex, resource-intensive pipeline and suffers from a performance ceiling due to a static reward signal. We propose a novel framework, Unified Reward & Policy Optimization (URPO), that unifies instruction-following ("player") and reward modeling ("referee") within a single model and a single training phase. Our method recasts all alignment data-including preference pairs, verifiable reasoning, and open-ended instructions-into a unified generative format optimized by a single Group-Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) loop. This enables the model to learn from ground-truth preferences and verifiable logic while simultaneously generating its own rewards for open-ended tasks. Experiments on the Qwen2.5-7B model demonstrate URPO's superiority. Our unified model significantly outperforms a strong baseline using a separate generative reward model, boosting the instruction-following score on AlpacaEval from 42.24 to 44.84 and the composite reasoning average from 32.66 to 35.66. Furthermore, URPO cultivates a superior internal evaluator as a byproduct of training, achieving a RewardBench score of 85.15 and surpassing the dedicated reward model it replaces (83.55). By eliminating the need for a separate reward model and fostering a co-evolutionary dynamic between generation and evaluation, URPO presents a simpler, more efficient, and more effective path towards robustly aligned language models.

LiteGS: A High-performance Framework to Train 3DGS in Subminutes via System and Algorithm CodesignKaimin Liao, Hua Wang, Zhi Chen et al.
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as promising alternative in 3D representation. However, it still suffers from high training cost. This paper introduces LiteGS, a high performance framework that systematically optimizes the 3DGS training pipeline from multiple aspects. At the low-level computation layer, we design a ``warp-based raster'' associated with two hardware-aware optimizations to significantly reduce gradient reduction overhead. At the mid-level data management layer, we introduce dynamic spatial sorting based on Morton coding to enable a performant ``Cluster-Cull-Compact'' pipeline and improve data locality, therefore reducing cache misses. At the top-level algorithm layer, we establish a new robust densification criterion based on the variance of the opacity gradient, paired with a more stable opacity control mechanism, to achieve more precise parameter growth. Experimental results demonstrate that LiteGS accelerates the original 3DGS training by up to 13.4x with comparable or superior quality and surpasses the current SOTA in lightweight models by up to 1.4x speedup. For high-quality reconstruction tasks, LiteGS sets a new accuracy record and decreases the training time by an order of magnitude.

We introduce SEKI, a novel large language model (LLM)-based neural architecture search (NAS) method. Inspired by the chain-of-thought (CoT) paradigm in modern LLMs, SEKI operates in two key stages: self-evolution and knowledge distillation. In the self-evolution stage, LLMs initially lack sufficient reference examples, so we implement an iterative refinement mechanism that enhances architectures based on performance feedback. Over time, this process accumulates a repository of high-performance architectures. In the knowledge distillation stage, LLMs analyze common patterns among these architectures to generate new, optimized designs. Combining these two stages, SEKI greatly leverages the capacity of LLMs on NAS and without requiring any domain-specific data. Experimental results show that SEKI achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance across various datasets and search spaces while requiring only 0.05 GPU-days, outperforming existing methods in both efficiency and accuracy. Furthermore, SEKI demonstrates strong generalization capabilities, achieving SOTA-competitive results across multiple tasks.

Decoding with Structured Awareness: Integrating Directional, Frequency-Spatial, and Structural Attention for Medical Image SegmentationFan Zhang, Zhiwei Gu, Hua Wang
To address the limitations of Transformer decoders in capturing edge details, recognizing local textures and modeling spatial continuity, this paper proposes a novel decoder framework specifically designed for medical image segmentation, comprising three core modules. First, the Adaptive Cross-Fusion Attention (ACFA) module integrates channel feature enhancement with spatial attention mechanisms and introduces learnable guidance in three directions (planar, horizontal, and vertical) to enhance responsiveness to key regions and structural orientations. Second, the Triple Feature Fusion Attention (TFFA) module fuses features from Spatial, Fourier and Wavelet domains, achieving joint frequency-spatial representation that strengthens global dependency and structural modeling while preserving local information such as edges and textures, making it particularly effective in complex and blurred boundary scenarios. Finally, the Structural-aware Multi-scale Masking Module (SMMM) optimizes the skip connections between encoder and decoder by leveraging multi-scale context and structural saliency filtering, effectively reducing feature redundancy and improving semantic interaction quality. Working synergistically, these modules not only address the shortcomings of traditional decoders but also significantly enhance performance in high-precision tasks such as tumor segmentation and organ boundary extraction, improving both segmentation accuracy and model generalization. Experimental results demonstrate that this framework provides an efficient and practical solution for medical image segmentation.

IdealTSF: Can Non-Ideal Data Contribute to Enhancing the Performance of Time Series Forecasting Models?Hua Wang, Jinghao Lu, Fan Zhang
Deep learning has shown strong performance in time series forecasting tasks. However, issues such as missing values and anomalies in sequential data hinder its further development in prediction tasks. Previous research has primarily focused on extracting feature information from sequence data or addressing these suboptimal data as positive samples for knowledge transfer. A more effective approach would be to leverage these non-ideal negative samples to enhance event prediction. In response, this study highlights the advantages of non-ideal negative samples and proposes the IdealTSF framework, which integrates both ideal positive and negative samples for time series forecasting. IdealTSF consists of three progressive steps: pretraining, training, and optimization. It first pretrains the model by extracting knowledge from negative sample data, then transforms the sequence data into ideal positive samples during training. Additionally, a negative optimization mechanism with adversarial disturbances is applied. Extensive experiments demonstrate that negative sample data unlocks significant potential within the basic attention architecture for time series forecasting. Therefore, IdealTSF is particularly well-suited for applications with noisy samples or low-quality data.

An Advanced Convolutional Neural Network for Bearing Fault Diagnosis under Limited DataShengke Sun, Shuzhen Han, Ziqian Luan et al.
In the area of bearing fault diagnosis, deep learning (DL) methods have been widely used recently. However, due to the high cost or privacy concerns, high-quality labeled data are scarce in real world scenarios. While few-shot learning has shown promise in addressing data scarcity, existing methods still face significant limitations in this domain. Traditional data augmentation techniques often suffer from mode collapse and generate low-quality samples that fail to capture the diversity of bearing fault patterns. Moreover, conventional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with local receptive fields makes them inadequate for extracting global features from complex vibration signals. Additionally, existing methods fail to model the intricate relationships between limited training samples. To solve these problems, we propose an advanced data augmentation and contrastive fourier convolution framework (DAC-FCF) for bearing fault diagnosis under limited data. Firstly, a novel conditional consistent latent representation and reconstruction generative adversarial network (CCLR-GAN) is proposed to generate more diverse data. Secondly, a contrastive learning based joint optimization mechanism is utilized to better model the relations between the available training data. Finally, we propose a 1D fourier convolution neural network (1D-FCNN) to achieve a global-aware of the input data. Experiments demonstrate that DAC-FCF achieves significant improvements, outperforming baselines by up to 32\% on case western reserve university (CWRU) dataset and 10\% on a self-collected test bench. Extensive ablation experiments prove the effectiveness of the proposed components. Thus, the proposed DAC-FCF offers a promising solution for bearing fault diagnosis under limited data.

Round Attention: A Novel Round-Level Attention Mechanism to Accelerate LLM InferenceYaohua Tang, Zhicheng Hu, Kun Cheng et al.
The increasing context window size in large language models (LLMs) has improved their ability to handle complex, long-text tasks. However, as the conversation rounds continue, it is required to store a large amount of KV cache in GPU memory, which significantly affects the efficiency and even availability of the model serving systems. This paper analyzes dialogue data from real users on the granularity of round and discovers that the LLM inference manifests a watershed layer, after which the distribution of round-level attention shows notable similarity. Based on this, we propose Round Attention - a novel round-level attention mechanism that selectively processes the KV cache of top-k relevant rounds, where k is dynamically determined through the attention matrix in the watershed layer. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that our method reduces memory usage by 54\% to 82\%, while experimental results confirm that loading sparse critical-round KV cache maintains answer accuracy without performance degradation.

Improving Large Models with Small models: Lower Costs and Better PerformanceDong Chen, Shuo Zhang, Yueting Zhuang et al.
Pretrained large models (PLMs), such as ChatGPT, have demonstrated remarkable performance across diverse tasks. However, the significant computational requirements of PLMs have discouraged most product teams from running or fine-tuning them. In such cases, to harness the exceptional performance of PLMs, one must rely on expensive APIs, thereby exacerbating the economic burden. Despite the overall inferior performance of small models, in specific distributions, they can achieve comparable or even superior results. Consequently, some input can be processed exclusively by small models. On the other hand, certain tasks can be broken down into multiple subtasks, some of which can be completed without powerful capabilities. Under these circumstances, small models can handle the simple subtasks, allowing large models to focus on challenging subtasks, thus improving the performance. We propose Data Shunt$^+$ (DS$^+$), a general paradigm for collaboration of small and large models. DS$^+$ not only substantially reduces the cost associated with querying large models but also effectively improves large models' performance. For instance, ChatGPT achieves an accuracy of $94.43\%$ on Amazon Product sentiment analysis, and DS$^+$ achieves an accuracy of $95.64\%$, while the cost has been reduced to only $31.18\%$. Besides, experiments also prove that the proposed collaborative-based paradigm can better inject specific task knowledge into PLMs compared to fine-tuning.

Deep Learning Assisted End-to-End Synthesis of mm-Wave Passive Networks with 3D EM Structures: A Study on A Transformer-Based Matching NetworkSiawpeng Er, Edward Liu, Minshuo Chen et al.
This paper presents a deep learning assisted synthesis approach for direct end-to-end generation of RF/mm-wave passive matching network with 3D EM structures. Different from prior approaches that synthesize EM structures from target circuit component values and target topologies, our proposed approach achieves the direct synthesis of the passive network given the network topology from desired performance values as input. We showcase the proposed synthesis Neural Network (NN) model on an on-chip 1:1 transformer-based impedance matching network. By leveraging parameter sharing, the synthesis NN model successfully extracts relevant features from the input impedance and load capacitors, and predict the transformer 3D EM geometry in a 45nm SOI process that will match the standard 50$Ω$ load to the target input impedance while absorbing the two loading capacitors. As a proof-of-concept, several example transformer geometries were synthesized, and verified in Ansys HFSS to provide the desired input impedance.

Imitating Deep Learning Dynamics via Locally Elastic Stochastic Differential EquationsJiayao Zhang, Hua Wang, Weijie J. Su
Understanding the training dynamics of deep learning models is perhaps a necessary step toward demystifying the effectiveness of these models. In particular, how do data from different classes gradually become separable in their feature spaces when training neural networks using stochastic gradient descent? In this study, we model the evolution of features during deep learning training using a set of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) that each corresponds to a training sample. As a crucial ingredient in our modeling strategy, each SDE contains a drift term that reflects the impact of backpropagation at an input on the features of all samples. Our main finding uncovers a sharp phase transition phenomenon regarding the {intra-class impact: if the SDEs are locally elastic in the sense that the impact is more significant on samples from the same class as the input, the features of the training data become linearly separable, meaning vanishing training loss; otherwise, the features are not separable, regardless of how long the training time is. Moreover, in the presence of local elasticity, an analysis of our SDEs shows that the emergence of a simple geometric structure called the neural collapse of the features. Taken together, our results shed light on the decisive role of local elasticity in the training dynamics of neural networks. We corroborate our theoretical analysis with experiments on a synthesized dataset of geometric shapes and CIFAR-10.

Over the past decade, learning a dictionary from input images for sparse modeling has been one of the topics which receive most research attention in image processing and compressed sensing. Most existing dictionary learning methods consider an over-complete dictionary, such as the K-SVD method, which may result in high mutual incoherence and therefore has a negative impact in recognition. On the other side, the sparse codes are usually optimized by adding the $\ell_0$ or $\ell_1$-norm penalty, but with no strict sparsity guarantee. In this paper, we propose an orthogonal dictionary learning model which can obtain strictly sparse codes and orthogonal dictionary with global sequence convergence guarantee. We find that our method can result in better denoising results than over-complete dictionary based learning methods, and has the additional advantage of high computation efficiency.

We propose using machine learning models for the direct synthesis of on-chip electromagnetic (EM) passive structures to enable rapid or even automated designs and optimizations of RF/mm-Wave circuits. As a proof of concept, we demonstrate the direct synthesis of a 1:1 transformer on a 45nm SOI process using our proposed neural network model. Using pre-existing transformer s-parameter files and their geometric design training samples, the model predicts target geometric designs.
