TokenPowerBench: Benchmarking the Power Consumption of LLM InferenceChenxu Niu, Wei Zhang, Jie Li et al.
Large language model (LLM) services now answer billions of queries per day, and industry reports show that inference, not training, accounts for more than 90% of total power consumption. However, existing benchmarks focus on either training/fine-tuning or performance of inference and provide little support for power consumption measurement and analysis of inference. We introduce TokenPowerBench, the first lightweight and extensible benchmark designed for LLM-inference power consumption studies. The benchmark combines (i) a declarative configuration interface covering model choice, prompt set, and inference engine, (ii) a measurement layer that captures GPU-, node-, and system-level power without specialized power meters, and (iii) a phase-aligned metrics pipeline that attributes energy to the prefill and decode stages of every request. These elements make it straight-forward to explore the power consumed by an LLM inference run; furthermore, by varying batch size, context length, parallelism strategy and quantization, users can quickly assess how each setting affects joules per token and other energy-efficiency metrics. We evaluate TokenPowerBench on four of the most widely used model series (Llama, Falcon, Qwen, and Mistral). Our experiments cover from 1 billion parameters up to the frontier-scale Llama3-405B model. Furthermore, we release TokenPowerBench as open source to help users to measure power consumption, forecast operating expenses, and meet sustainability targets when deploying LLM services.

SpatialMe: Stereo Video Conversion Using Depth-Warping and Blend-InpaintingJiale Zhang, Qianxi Jia, Yang Liu et al.
Stereo video conversion aims to transform monocular videos into immersive stereo format. Despite the advancements in novel view synthesis, it still remains two major challenges: i) difficulty of achieving high-fidelity and stable results, and ii) insufficiency of high-quality stereo video data. In this paper, we introduce SpatialMe, a novel stereo video conversion framework based on depth-warping and blend-inpainting. Specifically, we propose a mask-based hierarchy feature update (MHFU) refiner, which integrate and refine the outputs from designed multi-branch inpainting module, using feature update unit (FUU) and mask mechanism. We also propose a disparity expansion strategy to address the problem of foreground bleeding. Furthermore, we conduct a high-quality real-world stereo video dataset -- StereoV1K, to alleviate the data shortage. It contains 1000 stereo videos captured in real-world at a resolution of 1180 x 1180, covering various indoor and outdoor scenes. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our approach in generating stereo videos over state-of-the-art methods.
Evidence Aggregation for Answer Re-Ranking in Open-Domain Question AnsweringShuohang Wang, Mo Yu, Jing Jiang et al.
A popular recent approach to answering open-domain questions is to first search for question-related passages and then apply reading comprehension models to extract answers. Existing methods usually extract answers from single passages independently. But some questions require a combination of evidence from across different sources to answer correctly. In this paper, we propose two models which make use of multiple passages to generate their answers. Both use an answer-reranking approach which reorders the answer candidates generated by an existing state-of-the-art QA model. We propose two methods, namely, strength-based re-ranking and coverage-based re-ranking, to make use of the aggregated evidence from different passages to better determine the answer. Our models have achieved state-of-the-art results on three public open-domain QA datasets: Quasar-T, SearchQA and the open-domain version of TriviaQA, with about 8 percentage points of improvement over the former two datasets.
