Flattery in Motion: Benchmarking and Analyzing Sycophancy in Video-LLMs

Wenrui Zhou, Mohamed Hendy, Shu Yang et al.

As video large language models (Video-LLMs) become increasingly integrated into real-world applications that demand grounded multimodal reasoning, ensuring their factual consistency and reliability is of critical importance. However, sycophancy, the tendency of these models to align with user input even when it contradicts the visual evidence, undermines their trustworthiness in such contexts. Current sycophancy research has largely overlooked its specific manifestations in the video-language domain, resulting in a notable absence of systematic benchmarks and targeted evaluations to understand how Video-LLMs respond under misleading user input. To fill this gap, we propose VISE (Video-LLM Sycophancy Benchmarking and Evaluation), the first benchmark designed to evaluate sycophantic behavior in state-of-the-art Video-LLMs across diverse question formats, prompt biases, and visual reasoning tasks. Specifically, VISE pioneeringly brings linguistic perspectives on sycophancy into the video domain, enabling fine-grained analysis across multiple sycophancy types and interaction patterns. Furthermore, we propose two potential training-free mitigation strategies, revealing potential paths for reducing sycophantic bias: (i) enhancing visual grounding through interpretable key-frame selection and (ii) steering model behavior away from sycophancy via targeted, inference-time intervention on its internal neural representations. Our code is available at https://github.com/William030422/Video-Sycophancy.

SHaRPose: Sparse High-Resolution Representation for Human Pose Estimation

Xiaoqi An, Lin Zhao, Chen Gong et al.

High-resolution representation is essential for achieving good performance in human pose estimation models. To obtain such features, existing works utilize high-resolution input images or fine-grained image tokens. However, this dense high-resolution representation brings a significant computational burden. In this paper, we address the following question: "Only sparse human keypoint locations are detected for human pose estimation, is it really necessary to describe the whole image in a dense, high-resolution manner?" Based on dynamic transformer models, we propose a framework that only uses Sparse High-resolution Representations for human Pose estimation (SHaRPose). In detail, SHaRPose consists of two stages. At the coarse stage, the relations between image regions and keypoints are dynamically mined while a coarse estimation is generated. Then, a quality predictor is applied to decide whether the coarse estimation results should be refined. At the fine stage, SHaRPose builds sparse high-resolution representations only on the regions related to the keypoints and provides refined high-precision human pose estimations. Extensive experiments demonstrate the outstanding performance of the proposed method. Specifically, compared to the state-of-the-art method ViTPose, our model SHaRPose-Base achieves 77.4 AP (+0.5 AP) on the COCO validation set and 76.7 AP (+0.5 AP) on the COCO test-dev set, and infers at a speed of $1.4\times$ faster than ViTPose-Base.

Hunyuan3D Studio: End-to-End AI Pipeline for Game-Ready 3D Asset Generation

Biwen Lei, Yang Li, Xinhai Liu et al.

The creation of high-quality 3D assets, a cornerstone of modern game development, has long been characterized by labor-intensive and specialized workflows. This paper presents Hunyuan3D Studio, an end-to-end AI-powered content creation platform designed to revolutionize the game production pipeline by automating and streamlining the generation of game-ready 3D assets. At its core, Hunyuan3D Studio integrates a suite of advanced neural modules (such as Part-level 3D Generation, Polygon Generation, Semantic UV, etc.) into a cohesive and user-friendly system. This unified framework allows for the rapid transformation of a single concept image or textual description into a fully-realized, production-quality 3D model complete with optimized geometry and high-fidelity PBR textures. We demonstrate that assets generated by Hunyuan3D Studio are not only visually compelling but also adhere to the stringent technical requirements of contemporary game engines, significantly reducing iteration time and lowering the barrier to entry for 3D content creation. By providing a seamless bridge from creative intent to technical asset, Hunyuan3D Studio represents a significant leap forward for AI-assisted workflows in game development and interactive media.

Weighted Spectral Filters for Kernel Interpolation on Spheres: Estimates of Prediction Accuracy for Noisy Data

Xiaotong Liu, Jinxin Wang, Di Wang et al.

Spherical radial-basis-based kernel interpolation abounds in image sciences including geophysical image reconstruction, climate trends description and image rendering due to its excellent spatial localization property and perfect approximation performance. However, in dealing with noisy data, kernel interpolation frequently behaves not so well due to the large condition number of the kernel matrix and instability of the interpolation process. In this paper, we introduce a weighted spectral filter approach to reduce the condition number of the kernel matrix and then stabilize kernel interpolation. The main building blocks of the proposed method are the well developed spherical positive quadrature rules and high-pass spectral filters. Using a recently developed integral operator approach for spherical data analysis, we theoretically demonstrate that the proposed weighted spectral filter approach succeeds in breaking through the bottleneck of kernel interpolation, especially in fitting noisy data. We provide optimal approximation rates of the new method to show that our approach does not compromise the predicting accuracy. Furthermore, we conduct both toy simulations and two real-world data experiments with synthetically added noise in geophysical image reconstruction and climate image processing to verify our theoretical assertions and show the feasibility of the weighted spectral filter approach.
