Delving into Discrete Normalizing Flows on SO(3) Manifold for Probabilistic Rotation ModelingYulin Liu, Haoran Liu, Yingda Yin et al.
Normalizing flows (NFs) provide a powerful tool to construct an expressive distribution by a sequence of trackable transformations of a base distribution and form a probabilistic model of underlying data. Rotation, as an important quantity in computer vision, graphics, and robotics, can exhibit many ambiguities when occlusion and symmetry occur and thus demands such probabilistic models. Though much progress has been made for NFs in Euclidean space, there are no effective normalizing flows without discontinuity or many-to-one mapping tailored for SO(3) manifold. Given the unique non-Euclidean properties of the rotation manifold, adapting the existing NFs to SO(3) manifold is non-trivial. In this paper, we propose a novel normalizing flow on SO(3) by combining a Mobius transformation-based coupling layer and a quaternion affine transformation. With our proposed rotation normalizing flows, one can not only effectively express arbitrary distributions on SO(3), but also conditionally build the target distribution given input observations. Extensive experiments show that our rotation normalizing flows significantly outperform the baselines on both unconditional and conditional tasks.

A Laplace-inspired Distribution on SO(3) for Probabilistic Rotation EstimationYingda Yin, Yang Wang, He Wang et al.
Estimating the 3DoF rotation from a single RGB image is an important yet challenging problem. Probabilistic rotation regression has raised more and more attention with the benefit of expressing uncertainty information along with the prediction. Though modeling noise using Gaussian-resembling Bingham distribution and matrix Fisher distribution is natural, they are shown to be sensitive to outliers for the nature of quadratic punishment to deviations. In this paper, we draw inspiration from multivariate Laplace distribution and propose a novel Rotation Laplace distribution on SO(3). Rotation Laplace distribution is robust to the disturbance of outliers and enforces much gradient to the low-error region, resulting in a better convergence. Our extensive experiments show that our proposed distribution achieves state-of-the-art performance for rotation regression tasks over both probabilistic and non-probabilistic baselines. SLAM3R: Real-Time Dense Scene Reconstruction from Monocular RGB VideosYuzheng Liu, Siyan Dong, Shuzhe Wang et al.
In this paper, we introduce SLAM3R, a novel and effective system for real-time, high-quality, dense 3D reconstruction using RGB videos. SLAM3R provides an end-to-end solution by seamlessly integrating local 3D reconstruction and global coordinate registration through feed-forward neural networks. Given an input video, the system first converts it into overlapping clips using a sliding window mechanism. Unlike traditional pose optimization-based methods, SLAM3R directly regresses 3D pointmaps from RGB images in each window and progressively aligns and deforms these local pointmaps to create a globally consistent scene reconstruction - all without explicitly solving any camera parameters. Experiments across datasets consistently show that SLAM3R achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction accuracy and completeness while maintaining real-time performance at 20+ FPS. CanoVerse: 3D Object Scalable Canonicalization and Dataset for Generation and PoseLi Jin, Yuchen Yang, Weikai Chen et al.
3D learning systems implicitly assume that objects occupy a coherent reference frame. Nonetheless, in practice, every asset arrives with an arbitrary global rotation, and models are left to resolve directional ambiguity on their own. This persistent misalignment suppresses pose-consistent generation, and blocks the emergence of stable directional semantics. To address this issue, we construct \methodName{}, a massive canonical 3D dataset of 320K objects over 1,156 categories -- an order-of-magnitude increase over prior work. At this scale, directional semantics become statistically learnable: Canoverse improves 3D generation stability, enables precise cross-modal 3D shape retrieval, and unlocks zero-shot point-cloud orientation estimation even for out-of-distribution data. This is achieved by a new canonicalization framework that reduces alignment from minutes to seconds per object via compact hypothesis generation and lightweight human discrimination, transforming canonicalization from manual curation into a high-throughput data generation pipeline. CaliTex: Geometry-Calibrated Attention for View-Coherent 3D Texture GenerationChenyu Liu, Hongze Chen, Jingzhi Bao et al.
Despite major advances brought by diffusion-based models, current 3D texture generation systems remain hindered by cross-view inconsistency -- textures that appear convincing from one viewpoint often fail to align across others. We find that this issue arises from attention ambiguity, where unstructured full attention is applied indiscriminately across tokens and modalities, causing geometric confusion and unstable appearance-structure coupling. To address this, we introduce CaliTex, a framework of geometry-calibrated attention that explicitly aligns attention with 3D structure. It introduces two modules: Part-Aligned Attention that enforces spatial alignment across semantically matched parts, and Condition-Routed Attention which routes appearance information through geometry-conditioned pathways to maintain spatial fidelity. Coupled with a two-stage diffusion transformer, CaliTex makes geometric coherence an inherent behavior of the network rather than a byproduct of optimization. Empirically, CaliTex produces seamless and view-consistent textures and outperforms both open-source and commercial baselines.

LumiTex: Towards High-Fidelity PBR Texture Generation with Illumination ContextJingzhi Bao, Hongze Chen, Lingting Zhu et al.
Physically-based rendering (PBR) provides a principled standard for realistic material-lighting interactions in computer graphics. Despite recent advances in generating PBR textures, existing methods fail to address two fundamental challenges: 1) materials decomposition from image prompts under limited illumination cues, and 2) seamless and view-consistent texture completion. To this end, we propose LumiTex, an end-to-end framework that comprises three key components: (1) a multi-branch generation scheme that disentangles albedo and metallic-roughness under shared illumination priors for robust material understanding, (2) a lighting-aware material attention mechanism that injects illumination context into the decoding process for physically grounded generation of albedo, metallic, and roughness maps, and (3) a geometry-guided inpainting module based on a large view synthesis model that enriches texture coverage and ensures seamless, view-consistent UV completion. Extensive experiments demonstrate that LumiTex achieves state-of-the-art performance in texture quality, surpassing both existing open-source and commercial methods.

Towards Accurate Active Camera LocalizationQihang Fang, Yingda Yin, Qingnan Fan et al.
In this work, we tackle the problem of active camera localization, which controls the camera movements actively to achieve an accurate camera pose. The past solutions are mostly based on Markov Localization, which reduces the position-wise camera uncertainty for localization. These approaches localize the camera in the discrete pose space and are agnostic to the localization-driven scene property, which restricts the camera pose accuracy in the coarse scale. We propose to overcome these limitations via a novel active camera localization algorithm, composed of a passive and an active localization module. The former optimizes the camera pose in the continuous pose space by establishing point-wise camera-world correspondences. The latter explicitly models the scene and camera uncertainty components to plan the right path for accurate camera pose estimation. We validate our algorithm on the challenging localization scenarios from both synthetic and scanned real-world indoor scenes. Experimental results demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms both the state-of-the-art Markov Localization based approach and other compared approaches on the fine-scale camera pose accuracy. SAI3D: Segment Any Instance in 3D ScenesYingda Yin, Yuzheng Liu, Yang Xiao et al.
Advancements in 3D instance segmentation have traditionally been tethered to the availability of annotated datasets, limiting their application to a narrow spectrum of object categories. Recent efforts have sought to harness vision-language models like CLIP for open-set semantic reasoning, yet these methods struggle to distinguish between objects of the same categories and rely on specific prompts that are not universally applicable. In this paper, we introduce SAI3D, a novel zero-shot 3D instance segmentation approach that synergistically leverages geometric priors and semantic cues derived from Segment Anything Model (SAM). Our method partitions a 3D scene into geometric primitives, which are then progressively merged into 3D instance segmentations that are consistent with the multi-view SAM masks. Moreover, we design a hierarchical region-growing algorithm with a dynamic thresholding mechanism, which largely improves the robustness of finegrained 3D scene parsing.Empirical evaluations on ScanNet, Matterport3D and the more challenging ScanNet++ datasets demonstrate the superiority of our approach. Notably, SAI3D outperforms existing open-vocabulary baselines and even surpasses fully-supervised methods in class-agnostic segmentation on ScanNet++. CoSMo3D: Open-World Promptable 3D Semantic Part Segmentation through LLM-Guided Canonical Spatial ModelingLi Jin, Weikai Chen, Yujie Wang et al.
Open-world promptable 3D semantic segmentation remains brittle as semantics are inferred in the input sensor coordinates. Yet, humans, in contrast, interpret parts via functional roles in a canonical space -- wings extend laterally, handles protrude to the side, and legs support from below. Psychophysical evidence shows that we mentally rotate objects into canonical frames to reveal these roles. To fill this gap, we propose \methodName{}, which attains canonical space perception by inducing a latent canonical reference frame learned directly from data. By construction, we create a unified canonical dataset through LLM-guided intra- and cross-category alignment, exposing canonical spatial regularities across 200 categories. By induction, we realize canonicality inside the model through a dual-branch architecture with canonical map anchoring and canonical box calibration, collapsing pose variation and symmetry into a stable canonical embedding. This shift from input pose space to canonical embedding yields far more stable and transferable part semantics. Experimental results show that \methodName{} establishes new state of the art in open-world promptable 3D segmentation.

ReVSeg: Incentivizing the Reasoning Chain for Video Segmentation with Reinforcement LearningYifan Li, Yingda Yin, Lingting Zhu et al.
Reasoning-centric video object segmentation is an inherently complex task: the query often refers to dynamics, causality, and temporal interactions, rather than static appearances. Yet existing solutions generally collapse these factors into simplified reasoning with latent embeddings, rendering the reasoning chain opaque and essentially intractable. We therefore adopt an explicit decomposition perspective and introduce ReVSeg, which executes reasoning as sequential decisions in the native interface of pretrained vision language models (VLMs). Rather than folding all reasoning into a single-step prediction, ReVSeg executes three explicit operations -- semantics interpretation, temporal evidence selection, and spatial grounding -- aligning pretrained capabilities. We further employ reinforcement learning to optimize the multi-step reasoning chain, enabling the model to self-refine its decision quality from outcome-driven signals. Experimental results demonstrate that ReVSeg attains state-of-the-art performances on standard video object segmentation benchmarks and yields interpretable reasoning trajectories. MuMA: 3D PBR Texturing via Multi-Channel Multi-View Generation and Agentic Post-ProcessingLingting Zhu, Jingrui Ye, Runze Zhang et al.
Current methods for 3D generation still fall short in physically based rendering (PBR) texturing, primarily due to limited data and challenges in modeling multi-channel materials. In this work, we propose MuMA, a method for 3D PBR texturing through Multi-channel Multi-view generation and Agentic post-processing. Our approach features two key innovations: 1) We opt to model shaded and albedo appearance channels, where the shaded channels enables the integration intrinsic decomposition modules for material properties. 2) Leveraging multimodal large language models, we emulate artists' techniques for material assessment and selection. Experiments demonstrate that MuMA achieves superior results in visual quality and material fidelity compared to existing methods.

SAP: Segment Any 4K PanoramaLutao Jiang, Zidong Cao, Weikai Chen et al.
Promptable instance segmentation is widely adopted in embodied and AR systems, yet the performance of foundation models trained on perspective imagery often degrades on 360° panoramas. In this paper, we introduce Segment Any 4K Panorama (SAP), a foundation model for 4K high-resolution panoramic instance-level segmentation. We reformulate panoramic segmentation as fixed-trajectory perspective video segmentation, decomposing a panorama into overlapping perspective patches sampled along a continuous spherical traversal. This memory-aligned reformulation preserves native 4K resolution while restoring the smooth viewpoint transitions required for stable cross-view propagation. To enable large-scale supervision, we synthesize 183,440 4K-resolution panoramic images with instance segmentation labels using the InfiniGen engine. Trained under this trajectory-aligned paradigm, SAP generalizes effectively to real-world 360° images, achieving +17.2 zero-shot mIoU gain over vanilla SAM2 of different sizes on real-world 4K panorama benchmark.

Light-SQ: Structure-aware Shape Abstraction with Superquadrics for Generated MeshesYuhan Wang, Weikai Chen, Zeyu Hu et al.
In user-generated-content (UGC) applications, non-expert users often rely on image-to-3D generative models to create 3D assets. In this context, primitive-based shape abstraction offers a promising solution for UGC scenarios by compressing high-resolution meshes into compact, editable representations. Towards this end, effective shape abstraction must therefore be structure-aware, characterized by low overlap between primitives, part-aware alignment, and primitive compactness. We present Light-SQ, a novel superquadric-based optimization framework that explicitly emphasizes structure-awareness from three aspects. (a) We introduce SDF carving to iteratively udpate the target signed distance field, discouraging overlap between primitives. (b) We propose a block-regrow-fill strategy guided by structure-aware volumetric decomposition, enabling structural partitioning to drive primitive placement. (c) We implement adaptive residual pruning based on SDF update history to surpress over-segmentation and ensure compact results. In addition, Light-SQ supports multiscale fitting, enabling localized refinement to preserve fine geometric details. To evaluate our method, we introduce 3DGen-Prim, a benchmark extending 3DGen-Bench with new metrics for both reconstruction quality and primitive-level editability. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Light-SQ enables efficient, high-fidelity, and editable shape abstraction with superquadrics for complex generated geometry, advancing the feasibility of 3D UGC creation.

Large Material Gaussian Model for Relightable 3D GenerationJingrui Ye, Lingting Zhu, Runze Zhang et al.
The increasing demand for 3D assets across various industries necessitates efficient and automated methods for 3D content creation. Leveraging 3D Gaussian Splatting, recent large reconstruction models (LRMs) have demonstrated the ability to efficiently achieve high-quality 3D rendering by integrating multiview diffusion for generation and scalable transformers for reconstruction. However, existing models fail to produce the material properties of assets, which is crucial for realistic rendering in diverse lighting environments. In this paper, we introduce the Large Material Gaussian Model (MGM), a novel framework designed to generate high-quality 3D content with Physically Based Rendering (PBR) materials, ie, albedo, roughness, and metallic properties, rather than merely producing RGB textures with uncontrolled light baking. Specifically, we first fine-tune a new multiview material diffusion model conditioned on input depth and normal maps. Utilizing the generated multiview PBR images, we explore a Gaussian material representation that not only aligns with 2D Gaussian Splatting but also models each channel of the PBR materials. The reconstructed point clouds can then be rendered to acquire PBR attributes, enabling dynamic relighting by applying various ambient light maps. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the materials produced by our method not only exhibit greater visual appeal compared to baseline methods but also enhance material modeling, thereby enabling practical downstream rendering applications.

Towards Robust Probabilistic Modeling on SO(3) via Rotation Laplace DistributionYingda Yin, Jiangran Lyu, Yang Wang et al.
Estimating the 3DoF rotation from a single RGB image is an important yet challenging problem. As a popular approach, probabilistic rotation modeling additionally carries prediction uncertainty information, compared to single-prediction rotation regression. For modeling probabilistic distribution over SO(3), it is natural to use Gaussian-like Bingham distribution and matrix Fisher, however they are shown to be sensitive to outlier predictions, e.g. $180^\circ$ error and thus are unlikely to converge with optimal performance. In this paper, we draw inspiration from multivariate Laplace distribution and propose a novel rotation Laplace distribution on SO(3). Our rotation Laplace distribution is robust to the disturbance of outliers and enforces much gradient to the low-error region that it can improve. In addition, we show that our method also exhibits robustness to small noises and thus tolerates imperfect annotations. With this benefit, we demonstrate its advantages in semi-supervised rotation regression, where the pseudo labels are noisy. To further capture the multi-modal rotation solution space for symmetric objects, we extend our distribution to rotation Laplace mixture model and demonstrate its effectiveness. Our extensive experiments show that our proposed distribution and the mixture model achieve state-of-the-art performance in all the rotation regression experiments over both probabilistic and non-probabilistic baselines.

FisherMatch: Semi-Supervised Rotation Regression via Entropy-based FilteringYingda Yin, Yingcheng Cai, He Wang et al.
Estimating the 3DoF rotation from a single RGB image is an important yet challenging problem. Recent works achieve good performance relying on a large amount of expensive-to-obtain labeled data. To reduce the amount of supervision, we for the first time propose a general framework, FisherMatch, for semi-supervised rotation regression, without assuming any domain-specific knowledge or paired data. Inspired by the popular semi-supervised approach, FixMatch, we propose to leverage pseudo label filtering to facilitate the information flow from labeled data to unlabeled data in a teacher-student mutual learning framework. However, incorporating the pseudo label filtering mechanism into semi-supervised rotation regression is highly non-trivial, mainly due to the lack of a reliable confidence measure for rotation prediction. In this work, we propose to leverage matrix Fisher distribution to build a probabilistic model of rotation and devise a matrix Fisher-based regressor for jointly predicting rotation along with its prediction uncertainty. We then propose to use the entropy of the predicted distribution as a confidence measure, which enables us to perform pseudo label filtering for rotation regression. For supervising such distribution-like pseudo labels, we further investigate the problem of how to enforce loss between two matrix Fisher distributions. Our extensive experiments show that our method can work well even under very low labeled data ratios on different benchmarks, achieving significant and consistent performance improvement over supervised learning and other semi-supervised learning baselines. Projective Manifold Gradient Layer for Deep Rotation RegressionJiayi Chen, Yingda Yin, Tolga Birdal et al.
Regressing rotations on SO(3) manifold using deep neural networks is an important yet unsolved problem. The gap between the Euclidean network output space and the non-Euclidean SO(3) manifold imposes a severe challenge for neural network learning in both forward and backward passes. While several works have proposed different regression-friendly rotation representations, very few works have been devoted to improving the gradient backpropagating in the backward pass. In this paper, we propose a manifold-aware gradient that directly backpropagates into deep network weights. Leveraging Riemannian optimization to construct a novel projective gradient, our proposed regularized projective manifold gradient (RPMG) method helps networks achieve new state-of-the-art performance in a variety of rotation estimation tasks. Single image reflection removal via learning with multi-image constraintsYingda Yin, Qingnan Fan, Dongdong Chen et al.
Reflections are very common phenomena in our daily photography, which distract people's attention from the scene behind the glass. The problem of removing reflection artifacts is important but challenging due to its ill-posed nature. The traditional approaches solve an optimization problem over the constraints induced from multiple images, at the expense of large computation costs. Recent learning-based approaches have demonstrated a significant improvement in both performance and running time for single image reflection removal, but are limited as they require a large number of synthetic reflection/clean image pairs for direct supervision to approximate the ground truth, at the risk of overfitting in the synthetic image domain and degrading in the real image domain. In this paper, we propose a novel learning-based solution that combines the advantages of the aforementioned approaches and overcomes their drawbacks. Our algorithm works by learning a deep neural network to optimize the target with joint constraints enhanced among multiple input images during the training phase, but is able to eliminate reflections only from a single input for evaluation. Our algorithm runs in real-time and achieves state-of-the-art reflection removal performance on real images. We further propose a strong network backbone that disentangles the background and reflection information into separate latent codes, which are embedded into a shared one-branch deep neural network for both background and reflection predictions. The proposed backbone experimentally performs better than the other common network implementations, and provides insightful knowledge to understand the reflection removal task.
